War in Ukraine today: latest news, February 27, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 369th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues its full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. The invaders’ main efforts are focused on the offensive towards Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Shakhtarske. The number of enemy personnel is increasing. According to the available information, up to 200 conscripts from Rostov oblast (russia) have been redeployed to the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk oblast.

On February 27, the enemy launched 8 missile and 28 air strikes, 12 of them by Iranian Shahed-136 combat UAVs. The invaders also launched over 55 MLRS attacks.

There remains a threat of missile strikes all across Ukraine.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk, and Sloboda, there are no major changes, and no offensive groups were found. The enemy is carrying out construction work, making anti-tank ditches, in the border areas of Briansk and Kursk oblasts (russia).

On February 27, the enemy fired mortars and artillery at the settlements of Khrinivka, Yeline (Chernihiv oblast), Budivelne, Hirky, Atynske, Volfyne, Pavlivka, Stepok (Sumy oblast), Veterynarne, Strilecha, Hatyshche, Vovchanski Khutory, Kamianka (Kharkiv oblast). 

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy conducted several unsuccessful offensives. In particular, there were attacks against the settlements of Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Spirne, and Vyimka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy shelled Dvorichna, Hrianykivka, Kurylivka, Kyslivka, Tabaivka (Kharkiv oblast), Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova (Luhansk oblast), and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast) with artillery. 

Towards Bakhmut, the following settlements came under fire: Zaliznianske, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Berkhivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Klishchiivka, and Ozarianivka (Donetsk oblast). 

Towards Avdiivka and Shakhtarske, the enemy continues to attack the positions of Ukrainian troops. There were several unsuccessful attacks towards Kamianka, Krasnohorivka, and Marinka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at the settlements of Avdiivka, Netailove, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Marinka, Bohoiavlenka, Novomykhailivka, Velyka Novosilka, Neskuchne, and Vuhledar.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy shelled 17 settlements. Among them are Vremivka, Novopil (Donetsk oblast), Olhivske, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, and Bilohiria (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The enemy is active in aerial reconnaissance to spot artillery fire, and has deployed a Zoopark-1 radar system in the vicinity of Stepove to detect the positions of Ukrainian artillery.

Towards Kherson, enemy artillery fire hit more than 20 settlements of Kherson oblast located on the right bank of the Dnipro River, namely Berehove, Beryslav, Vesele, Tiahynka, Antonivka, and the city of Kherson. 

The enemy continues to suffer losses and uses the local infrastructure in the temporarily occupied territories to provide medical care to its servicemen. For example, a military hospital has been set up in a local hospital in the settlement of Kalanchak. About 150 wounded soldiers of the russian armed forces have been brought there. According to the available information, the medical staff are all russians.

The enemy continues to act in a way to discredit the Ukrainian Defense Forces and intimidate residents of the temporarily occupied part of Kherson oblast. Yet again, the enemy fired mortars at residential neighbourhoods of Oleshky and accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the shelling.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched 4 air strikes on buildups of enemy personnel and military equipment. Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed 9 out of 12 Iranian Shahed-136 and 1 Zala combat UAVs.

Rocket and artillery units hit 1 command post, 1 buildup of the enemy manpower, and 1 air defense position.

The Commander of the Ukrainian Navy informs that over 70 K square kilometers of the Black Sea need to be liberated. He also added that 25,000 square kilometers of the Black Sea is a “gray zone” where russian ships are afraid to enter. This is about the size of the territory of Odesa or Kharkiv oblasts. 

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports that three decrees were signed to implement the NSDC sanctions. This applies to russians involved in war crimes of the russian federation, in particular the abduction of children. “..Today we have new decisions of our state regarding sanctions against those who are involved in or help russia wage war and destroy lives and people. I signed three decrees to implement the NSDC decisions. Against those russians involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children. Against those representatives of the russian sports sector who are trying to put sports in the service of aggression. And against those who help maintain mercenary structures in russia for the war against Ukraine and all free people,” the president said in his evening address.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the invaders tried to attack Berestove of Kupiansk region. At least 15 settlements were under attack at 6am in the morning, and another 10 were shelled in the afternoon.

Volodymyr Tymoshko, Kharkiv Police Chief says that in downtown Kharkiv, the police detained teenagers who wanted to start a mass brawl. It was part of a flash mob launched in russia. Tymoshenko also urged parents to control their children’s leisure time. The police have identified 245 people who will be checked for involvement in the preparation of mass disorders. Of these, 30 are adults. Among the minors, there are 149 boys and 66 girls.

According to Head of the Coordination Humanitarian Centre in Kharkiv oblast, Yevhen Koliada, volunteers have evacuated more than 24K people since September 2022. 

On February 26, the enemy massively shelled the border settlements of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk regions with artillery and mortars.

In Vovchansk, one of the shells hit a private yard. The building was damaged, the garage and outbuildings destroyed. A fire broke out.

A 73-year-old man sustained shrapnel wounds. He was hospitalized in moderate condition.

In Kurylivka village, Kupiansk region, a private building and a garage were damaged by shelling.

Mine clearance continues. Yesterday, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 84 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

The UK Ministry of Defense reports that russia might be concerned about “unexplained explosions” in Mariupol, which they considered to be beyond the reach of Ukrainian strike capabilities. Explosions were heard on February 21-24. The Mariupol City Council reported that the russian occupiers’ warehouses and bases were hit. This information was also confirmed by the Ukrainian military, as reported by Oleksii Dmytrashkivskyi, Spokesman for the Joint Defense Press Center of the Tarvriia direction.

The Novokramatorsk Machine-Building Plant, one of the largest enterprises in Donetsk oblast, is putting some of its workers on idle leave and suspending their salaries. The plant suspended production on February 28, 2022, and paid salaries to people during the year of downtime.

Over the past day, russian occupation forces shelled  15 settlements in Donetsk oblast 28 times. Missiles were fired at Myrnohrad, Avdiivka was attacked with aircraft, Grads and artillery.

Head of the Kostiantynivka RMA, Oleksii Roslov, says that the night before, the russian military shelled Kostiantynivka in Donetsk oblast, wounding a child.

Myrnohrad suffered two missile attacks. According to preliminary information, the russians used S300 missiles, damaging 4 private houses and a stadium. There were no casualties.

Towards Volnovakha, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka and Bohoiavlenka came under fire.

Towards Donetsk, the Kurakhove community was shelled: 1 person was wounded and 4 houses damaged in Hirnyk; a house and a shop damaged in Ostrich, and 1 house damaged in Kurakhivka. At night, Marinka and Ocheretyne communities were shelled. In Avdiivka, there were sporadic hits during the night, and in the morning – 2 massive attacks on residential and industrial areas.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was wounded and 3 houses damaged in Kostiantynivka. 1 house was damaged in Predtechyne. 

In Bakhmut, 9 multi-storey buildings and a kindergarten were damaged overnight. 6 houses were damaged in Vasiukivka of the Soledar community.

Towards Lysychansk, Siversk and the outskirts of the community were shelled.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of the Donetsk Military Administration, informs that over the last day, russians wounded two residents of Donetsk oblast – in Hirnyk and Zoriane.

Luhansk oblast

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, russians conducted some unsuccessful offensives in Novoselivske, Ploschanka, Bilohorivka, Nevske, and Serebrianka forestry on February 26.

There were some artillery attacks against Bilohorivka, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, Kreminna,  Nevske, Novoselivske and Serebrianka forestry. The enemy launched airstrikes in Bilohorivka.

According to the General Staff, russian occupiers continue to storm five major areas in eastern Ukraine and are deploying additional forces to Luhansk oblast. .

Head of the Luhansk RMA, Serhii Haidai, reported that there were active hostilities in all three areas: Bilohorivka, Kreminna and Svatove region. The escalation has been going on for several weeks. Many units of heavy equipment have been concentrated in the occupied part of Luhansk oblast with the russian reserve personnel brought in.

Referring to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, in the Hirske community, russians have started collecting residents’ refusals to rebuild their houses. Borove is facing an environmental disaster.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

9 enemy drones of the Shahed type were shot down in the airspace around Kyiv at night. As reported in the Kyiv City Military Administration, the drone attack was actually carried out in two waves, stretched as much as possible in time – the night air alert in Kyiv lasted 5 and a half hours.

The Prosecutor General’s Office reported that the former commander of the Kyiv “Berkut” special forces will be brought to court for mass shootings of Maidan activists. The investigation established that on February 20, 2014, on Instytutska Street in Kyiv, policemen of the special forces company, under the leadership of the commander and together with him, used standard smooth-bore and automatic rifled firearms, equipped with ammunition, against the participants of the protest actions. As a result, 48 participants of protest actions were killed, and 90 received gunshot wounds.

A memorial plaque dedicated to the russian scientist Mykhailo Lomonosov is being dismantled on the wall of the building of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. The commemorative plaque will be removed by decision of the Academic Council of the university and transferred to the NaUKMA museum. The President of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” Serhiy Kvit noted that Mykhailo Lomonosov never worked at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

The “Interrupted Flight” exhibition was opened at the “Zoloti Vorota” metro station in Kyiv. It presents photos of the military photographer Mykola Anatsky, who died as a result of the air crash in Brovary. These are photos he took during business trips to different parts of Ukraine – Kramatorsk, Vinnytsia, Bakhmut, Kremenchuk, and Kharkiv. These photos also contain the history and activities of the deceased head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrskyi and his team.

The premiere of the documentary “Glory to Ukraine!” by French director, philosopher and playwright Bernard-Henri Levy took place in the capital. The French director invited the audience on a journey through Bucha, Kharkiv, and Izyum, showing consequences of the russian strikes. According to the director, the film will soon be presented in all European countries.

During the charity event “Thanksgiving Pancakes” in Kyiv, a record was set for the largest number of pancakes baked for the Armed Forces – 100,359. As reported in the Kyiv City Council, pancakes were given to hospitalized military personnel in 41 medical institutions of Ukraine, as well as to defenders at the front. Several thousand volunteers joined the charitable initiative.

The Boryspil community collected over UAH 100 for thermal imaging devices for the border guards of the Donetsk border detachment. Funds were collected at a charity event in the city park – the organizers engaged animators and organized a cooking battle, a winless lottery, and a fair.

Zhytomyr oblast

Vitaliy Bunechko, Head of the Zhytomyr RMA, announced that work on strengthening the border with Belarus continues in the oblast. Protective and fortification structures are being built, and the deeply echeloned protection of our border is being strengthened. According to him, there is currently no direct threat of a ground attack by belarus.

The Zhytomyr Regional Employment Center reported that 123 residents of the oblast – experienced entrepreneurs and beginners – took advantage of the micro-grant program for the creation or development of their own business. The main condition of submitted business projects is the creation of new jobs within two years upon receiving a grant.

A business school was organized in Zhytomyr for budding entrepreneurs, students, youth, women and internally displaced persons. As reported in the Zhytomyr City Council, the course will help to improve and acquire the skills necessary for entrepreneurship. The three-month training course is free of charge for all those who are interested, provided that they are pre-registered by March 3.

The exhibition of photos by the photo master Leonid Shevchuk “Flashes of the Moment” opened at the House of Ukrainian Culture in Zhytomyr. The exhibition includes 57 documentary and historical photographs taken by the author during the year since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in Zhytomyr and the oblast. Leonid Shevchuk’s works were also presented in the Polish cities of Lublin and Hdańsk.

Sumy oblast

The Sumy RMA reported that the russian military shelled the communities of Bilopillia, Hlukhiv, Nova Sloboda, Khotyn and Krasnopillia. A total of 81 hits from mortars and artillery were recorded.

A civilian was injured due to artillery fire in the village of Budivelne of the Hlukhiv community. Also, 6 houses were damaged there and a private shop destroyed. 5 residential buildings, a medical center and power lines were damaged due to mortar shelling in the village of Horky, Nova Sloboda community.

The enemy continues shelling the border communities of Sumy oblast. As reported by the ‘North’ Operational Command, enemy shelling was recorded in Starikovo – 8 hits from a 120 mm mortar, Buvalyne – 10 hits from an RPG, Kruzhok – 5 hits from a mortar, and Budivelne – 6 hits from a mortar.

The SSU of Sumy oblast reported that comprehensive counter-subversive measures aimed at preventing and neutralizing threats of intelligence and subversive activity against Ukraine are being carried out in the oblast. Such measures are carried out in connection with the extension of the martial law, taking into account the border location of the Sumy oblast.

More than a hundred athletes from Sumy, Shostka, Konotop, Okhtyrka, as well as Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kremenchuk, Mariupol, and Brovary came to the start of the “365 Days of Invincibility” charity race in the oblast center. Participants covered distances of three, nine and twenty one kilometers. The funds collected at the event will be used to purchase warm socks for the defenders of Bakhmut.

Chernihiv oblast

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that air defense forces shot down three russian drones in Chernihiv oblast during the night air alert.

Two residential buildings and two commercial premises were destroyed due to enemy shelling on February 26 in the village of Yeline, Koriukivka region. As the head of the Koryukiv RMA, Ivan Vashchenko, reported, a fire broke out at the site of the shelling, which was contained by rescuers. According to him, the Snovsk City Council is taking measures regarding the possible evacuation of people.

The enemy continues shelling the border region. As reported by the SBGS, the Novhorod-Siverskyi and Snovsk communities came under enemy shelling. The Snovsk territorial community was under mortar fire. There were 8 hits recorded. The russian military dropped one explosive charge from a drone on the Novhorod-Siverskyi community.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Chernihiv RMA, announced that during the week, the enemy shelled the outskirts of 10 border settlements of the oblast 16 times from the territory of Bryansk oblast. During this period, the enemy inflicted 148 strikes on border communities of the oblast.

The Chernihiv RMA reported that a technical inspection of notification systems is planned this week. Testing of newly installed systems will take place in Horodnia and Snovsk communities. Work is ongoing to ensure that the notification systems appear as soon as possible in Novgorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk communities.

The Chernihiv RMA reported that over the past month, shelters have been set up in 18 schools of the oblast. However, two hundred educational institutions still do not have such facilities. They can provide only a distant form of education.

The charity event “Smachni Masnytsi” was held in the Mensk Center of Culture and Leisure. Guests of the event could enjoy fresh pastries and hot pancakes, buy hand-made products or take part in a quiz and revive the ancient tradition of evening parties. In total, more than UAH 14.5 K was collected for the volunteer needs of the Mensk community.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the Regional Council, Mykola Lukashuk, around midnight, russian occupiers shelled Myrove and Nikopol communities with heavy artillery. As a result of the attack, six private houses, a car, two gas stoves, and power grids were damaged in Nikopol.

During the day, the occupiers struck two regions of Dnipropetrovsk oblast. 8 damaged private houses and 3 more farm buildings, several mutilated cars, and a gas pipeline is the result of the shelling of the Marganets community in the Nikopol region. The occupiers fired heavy artillery at Marhanets and villages of the community, firing almost four dozen shells. In addition, the russian army attacked Nikopol. They also shelled  the Velykomykhailivka community in the Synelnykove region. A passenger car was damaged.

Serhii Lysak, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk RMA, reported that an informal lecture was held for Dnipro schoolchildren. This is an initiative of UNICEF and the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. The “Learning Together” project is needed because of the adjustments made to children’s lives due to the war.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ Almost 700 residents of Vinnytsia took part in the action “How are you, Vinnytsia?” on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion. For each publication, the community of Münster must send money to the “treasury of Vinnytsia”. They plan to purchase medical equipment for one of the Vinnytsia hospitals.

The Vinnytsia RMA reported receiving humanitarian aid from Germany. It includes a defibrillator, multifunctional beds, children’s beds, wheelchairs for adults, shower stools, a mobile operating table, anesthesia materials, infusion stands and thermometers, mattresses, blankets, and pillows. The cargo will be distributed among medical institutions of the oblast. 

Poltava oblast

Poltava oblast received humanitarian aid from the Ronald McDonald House Foundation and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In total, 480 food kits were handed over to internally displaced persons

Residents of Poltava together with the all-Ukrainian platform “Building Ukraine Together” raised UAH 300K to purchase eBOSH drones from a Ukrainian manufacturer. These are FPV drones that will help destroy enemy equipment

Cherkasy oblast

Children’s creative groups at the dance marathon “I love the AFU” in Zvenyhorodka collected almost UAH 5 K for the military

The Khrystynivka City Council reported that the community received 19 generators of different capacities from the  ADRA Ukraine Charity Organization.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On February 27, the russian troops once again fired S-300 missiles at Zaporizhzhia. There are no casualties. As a result of the shelling, the infrastructure facility was damaged.

On February 26, the enemy launched 92 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders, using tank weapons, rocket and barrel artillery along the entire contact line. The occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia, Chervone, Charivne, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zatyshshia, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Olhivske, Novoandriivka, Malynivka, Bilohiria, Sviatopetrivka, Staroukrainka, Mala Tokmachka, and Huliaipilske. The police received 3 reports about the destruction of houses (apartments) and infrastructure facilities as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

Mykolaiv oblast

On February 26, the enemy lshelled two settlements of the Kutsurub community. It is known that the shells hit an open area and the suburbs. There were no injuries or damage. According to the Mykolaiv RMA, the occupiers also shelled the Ochakiv community with mortars.

Another evidence of the russian military presence was discovered by the police in the liberated territory of Mykolaiv oblast. Investigators, criminalists and explosives technicians of the regional police headquarters, together with prosecutor’s office representatives, conducted investigative actions and inspected the deployment sites of russian military personnel in the village of Vavilove, the Shevchenkove territorial community. The police found ammunition, documents, inscriptions on the walls in the premises of a farm, where the occupiers were based, as well as other information indicating that they had committed war crimes. According to all discovered facts, the investigation of criminal proceedings initiated on the facts of violations of the laws and customs of war is carried out. The Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv oblast reported that investigative measures to identify and document war crimes committed by representatives of the russian armed forces in the Mykolaiv oblast are currently ongoing.

A charity fair was held to raise funds for the needs of the military in Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv oblast. The fair was held on the city main square. Local craftsmen presented their own works: goodies, souvenir products, toys, paintings, etc. In addition to fund-raising, a drawing competition “We — Ukraine!” was held at the fair. UAH 37,884 was fundraised.

Odesa oblast

The service center team of the Pension Fund in Odesa manufactures trench candles. They are made from tin cans, corrugated cardboard and wax. As of today, Odesa volunteers have sent 9K trench candles to the front.

Modular houses for displaced people are being built in the Avanhard community. About four thousand people moved here during the full-scale war. The modular house is designed for five people. It is possible to place 25 people simultaneously for one or two days for temporary accommodation. Three of the five houses have already been assembled. Modular houses were provided to Avanhard by Rivne city with the assistance of the All-Ukrainian Community Association.

Police officers from Odesa became blood donors for the injured residents of Kherson. Shelling of Kherson oblast takes place every day. So, without thinking twice, Odesa policemen joined the blood donation campaign, which is extremely needed for saving hospitalized citizens.

Kherson oblast

Since midnight on February 27, the russian army shelled the Kherson community three times. The occupiers attacked the Ostriv microdistrict, targeting the area of the Pallada plant.

On February 26, russian invaders attacked peaceful settlements in Kherson oblast 97 times. The russian army attacked Kherson 21 times. Residential buildings were damaged due to shelling. 1 person was killed, 2 others injured.

Over the past two days, the police opened 22 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the russian military in Kherson oblast. The police received a report that the russian military stole furniture from the office premises of the butter shop in Beryslav, took equipment from the warehouses and the weight room, and damaged the buildings.

Two men aged 37 and 41 were blown up by an enemy mine near the village of Dobrianka. Both men were killed on the spot. Another man received a mine-explosive injury to his face and body. He stepped on a mine near his country house.

The ‘South’ Operational Command reports that Ukrainian defenders liquidated 35 occupiers, a civilian watercraft used by enemy subversive and reconnaissance groups, mortars and armored personnel carriers that the occupiers used to set up firing positions for shelling the Dnipro right bank. In addition, 2 ammunition warehouses were destroyed near Nova Kakhovka and Solontsi.

The russian occupiers are preparing to flee from Oleshky and Skadovsk to the territory of the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea fearing the liberation of Ukrainian territories. Specifically, the departure of local collaborators to Bakhchysarai, Simferopol, and Kerch has been observed since February 21. Also, the occupiers have announced the so-called ‘evacuation’ to all interested parties since February 24. The enemy used military trucks to transport the collaborators, only hand luggage was allowed.

Currently, only six mobile shelters have been installed in Kherson. Sixty-six more are planned to be installed in the future. According to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson RMA, in addition to mobile shelters, there are 41 bomb shelters in the city to protect civilians. Some of them are already in operation, while others are undergoing renovation. There are also 238 of the simplest shelters, such as those in the basements of apartment buildings and kindergartens, some of which are in the process of being repaired to protect civilians.

Volunteers distributed humanitarian aid provided by the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine in Bruskinske village, the Velyka Oleksandrivka community. 80 families received warm blankets, clothes, electric heaters, hygiene kits, diapers for adults and other necessary items.

Police officers handed over humanitarian kits to the elderly in war-affected settlements of Kherson oblast. The kits are for elderly people who live mostly alone and without the support of their relatives in the war-damaged villages of Kherson and Beryslav regions, suffering from constant shelling by the russian army. People received things that are most needed in everyday life in today’s reality: warm blankets, pillows, slippers, flashlights, gas burners, matches, candles, thermoses, and more.

Volyn oblast

A charity football tournament was held in Lutsk with the participation of Ukrainian football stars, representatives of the government, business and the military. The collected UAH 100K will be used to purchase a car for the 7th separate battalion Arei of the 129th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that their representatives, during their stay in Donetsk oblast, handed over five prepared pickup trucks to Zakarpattia defenders.

In Uzhhorod, under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the Sports Billiards Federation of Ukraine, the GGPoker Open Cup of Ukraine from the combined pyramid continues. UAH 50K from the prize fund will be used to support the Armed Forces.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The city council of Ivano-Frankivsk reported that free Ukrainian language courses will start in the city on March 1 that last for 2 months.

Lviv oblast

The Drohobych Territorial Defense Battalion received a DJI Mavic3 quadcopter, a four-wheel drive SUV, 28 beds and bedside tables for the funds collected as part of the Year of Invincibility charity event in Truskavets.

The Saint Panteleimon Hospital received the first modern HEALTIE laser provided by the HelpMed Ukraine organization and the Lutronic company. This later accelerates the healing and restoration of skin even during the deepest wounds.

The Lviv Regional Youth Center and the Teplytsia Initiative Platform NGO signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the implementation of the project Development of Youth Centers and Spaces in Lviv Oblast. The project will be implemented in Lviv oblast with the financial support of the United Nations Children’s Fund in Ukraine (UNICEF). The total amount of the project is UAH 6,302 million, of which UAH 5,654 million is the contribution of UNICEF, and UAH 648K is the contribution of the youth center. The implementation period is 9 months.

Rivne oblast

Vitalii Koval, Head of the Rivne RMA, reported that the oblast remains one of those with the highest number of units of the Defense Forces. A rifle battalion was formed in the oblast in just two weeks.

The RMA reported that during the morning alarm in the shelter of the Rivne Regional Perinatal Center a girl was born. Everything is fine with the woman and her baby. The young mother is satisfied with the conditions, having visited both the regular delivery room and the shelter. She did not notice any major difference.

Ternopil oblast

During the charity evening Power of the People, which took place in the Zalozetsk community, almost UAH 200K was collected for AZOV fighters. Fundraising organizers are the Pokrova CF.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that at night, the enemy attacked Khmelnytskyi once again, foring 3 shots. This time the enemy used a UAV. As a result of the strikes, 2 rescuers of the State Emergency Service were killed and 3 people injured. Several civilian buildings were damaged.

Chernivtsi oblast

Social institutions of Bukovyna received humanitarian aid, namely, 1,2K sets of bed linen, 600 blankets, pillows, etc., from Save the Children.

Defenders from Bukovyna received humanitarian aid, namely, home-made food, equipment and medicines from the Klishkovets community.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

German Ambassador Anka Feldhusen informed that 18 Leopard 2 A6 tanks will arrive in Ukraine from the country by the end of March. She also released a full list of weapons that Ukraine has received from Germany: 32 anti-aircraft Gepard self-propelled howitzers, 14 Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers, 5 MARS II multiple rocket launcher systems, 50 Dingo armored vehicles, the IRIS-T SLM air defense system (3 more to be added), 20 70 mm multiple rocket launchers, 12 heavy-duty truck tractors, 26 reconnaissance UAVs, 30 UAV detection systems, 3 Biber armored bridge-layers, and 54 M113 armored personnel carriers with weapons.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is the first official visit  to Ukraine by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since the establishment of diplomatic relations. The President’s Office reported that Saudi Arabia will provide Ukraine with an aid package worth $400 million.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. Strengthening sanctions against the aggressor country were discussed.

Margarita Robles, Head of the Ministry of Defense of Spain,  reported that the country has begun repairing Leopard tanks, which will soon be sent to Ukraine. In addition, countries are already forming their crews.

Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense, announced that  Hanno Pevkur, Estonian Defense Minister, visited Kyiv on Sunday and handed a new package of military aid to Ukraine. The new aid package includes 155 mm howitzers, the “1 million 155 mm projectiles for Ukraine” initiative, field hospitals and treatment for Ukrainian soldiers.

Michal Dworczyk, Minister of the Office of the Polish Prime Minister, announced that Ukraine will receive 10 Leopard 2 tanks and 60 T-72 and PT-91 Twardy tanks within a few weeks. The tanks will be sent  to Ukrainian tank crews after completing training in Poland.

The EU extended sanctions against lukashenko and his entourage until the spring of 2024.

Dana Spinant, Spokeswoman of the European Commission, at a briefing in Brussels, announced that Poland and the European Commission are launching an initiative to find Ukrainian children abducted by russia.

The government of Georgia has extended the period of stay of Ukrainians in the country without a visa. Now Ukrainians will be able to stay in Georgia without a visa for up to two years. Previously, this term was one year.
