It has been the 650th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine. The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, conducts strikes, and shells both military and civilian targets.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

During the day of December 5, there were 70 combat clashes.

The enemy launched a total of 4 missile strikes, 53 airstrikes, 59 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential buildings as well as other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The invaders launched air strikes near Kostobobriv (Chernihiv oblast) and Novodmytrivka (Sumy oblast). Around 15 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Kostobobriv, Khrinivka, Mkhy (Chernihiv oblast), Popivka, Bachivsk, Hrabovske (Sumy oblast), Nesterne, Kozacha Lopan, Bilyi Kolodiaz, and Vovchansk (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 enemy attacks in the vicinities of Syn’kivka (Kharkiv oblast) and Novoselivs’ke (Luhansk oblast). The adversary launched an air strike near Ivanivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10x settlements, including Dvorichna, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian defense forces repelled 13 attacks in the area of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Spirne, Vesele, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy with air support attempted to force Ukrainian units out of their positions. The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Yampolivka, Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, Ukrainian defenders repelled 9 attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Bohdanivka, and Niu York (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Avdiivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled 23 attacks in the area east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, northeast of Berdychi, Avdiivka, Sievierne, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy with air support was making unsuccessful attempts to breach Ukrainian defences. Also, the invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Oleksandropil’ and Novobakhmutivka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 15 settlements, including Oleksandropil, Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka axis: Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinities of Marinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy, with air support, launched 13x attacks on positions of Ukrainian defenders. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Antonivka, and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast) were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack south of Zolota Nyva (Donetsk oblast). The occupiers launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian defense forces repelled all enemy attacks west of Verbove (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The adversary launched an airstrike near Novodarivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast).  More than 20 settlements, including Chervone, Bilohiria, Robotyne, P’yatykhatky, and Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Tiahynka and Krynky (Kherson oblast). The enemy fired artillery at the cities of Kherson and Ochakiv (Mykolaiv oblast).

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their ground on the left bank of the Dnipro River (Kherson oblast) and inflict fire on the enemy.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched 15 strikes on buildups of troops, weapons and military equipment, 4 strikes on command posts, and 3 strikes on air defense systems of the occupiers. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 1 russian Su-24M bomber.

Ukrainian rocket troops hit 6x concentrations of troops, weapons and military equipment, 1 command post, 1 ammunition depot, 2 electronic warfare stations, and 11 artillery systems of the russian invaders.

More than 1,664 children have suffered in Ukraine as a result of russia’s full-scale armed aggression. As of December 5, 2023, according to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 512 children were killed and more than 1152 injured of varying severity. Most children were affected in Donetsk oblast – 497, Kharkiv oblast – 304, Kherson oblast – 139, Kyiv oblast – 129, Zaporizhzhia oblast – 100, Mykolaiv oblast – 97, Dnipropetrovsk  oblast – 97, Chernihiv oblast – 72, and Luhansk oblast – 67.

Dmytro Lubinets, Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, says that Ukraine and russia agree to visit up to 400 Ukrainian prisoners of war by the end of 2023. For the first time, 119 Ukrainian prisoners of war in russia were visited. Ukrainian representatives were provided with video evidence.

Ivan Havryliuk, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, informs that the Armed Forces of Ukraine operate about 70 modifications of unmanned aerial vehicles and more than 20 different types of ammunition for UAVs. Recently, six new models of electronic warfare systems, including the so-called trench ones, have been put into service. The Defense Ministry, together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has completed testing of tactical radio jamming devices for barrage munitions and FPV drones developed by Ukrainian enterprises, which confirmed their technical characteristics in conditions close to combat. In the near future, it is planned to test a number of tactical electronic warfare equipment against UAVs and UAV detection equipment. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops repelled 68 russian attacks in the eastern frontline.

Kharkiv oblast

Nadiia Zamryha, Spokeswoman of the 14th Separate Mechanised Brigade, informed that towards Kupiansk, former russian prisoners, who signed contracts at the end of October, are being eliminated in combat. According to her, on December 4, her brigade eliminated up to two dozen invaders in Kupiansk region.

Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of Derhachi City Military Administration, reported that the outpatient clinic in Kozacha Lopan was destroyed as a result of russian artillery strikes. Medical vehicles, a gas pipeline and power lines were also damaged. There is neither communication nor electricity in the village as a result of the shelling. Village Head Liudmyla Vakulenko said that the medical staff was not injured during the strike, but people were a little bit shocked. According to her, the shelling started around 12:30 am, there were at least 20 hits. Despite the destruction of the outpatient clinic building, the institution will not stop providing assistance to the residents of Kozacha Lopan and will continue to provide care in the basement.

More than 20 settlements in the region were under enemy artillery and mortar shelling: Chervona Zoria of Bohodukhiv region, Pletenivka of Chuhuiv region, Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove of Kupiansk region. 

The enemy attacked Petropavlivka, Ivanivka and Pishchane of Kupiansk region. 

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 10 enemy attacks near Synkivka and Petropavlivka. 

At around 9:17 pm, the invaders attacked Borova village, Izium region, with Shahed drones. The press service of Kharkiv State Emergency Service reported that two fires broke out as a result of drone strikes on Borove. A building, an outbuilding, structural elements and furniture in a two-storey building were on fire. The fire was extinguished for almost 6 hours. 

Oleksandr Tertyshnyi, Head of the City Military Administration, stated that in Chuhuiv, russians hit an open area, damaging windows and roofs in three buildings. The House of Culture in Borove was destroyed by almost 70% as a result of russian drone strikes.

At 9:30 pm, two UAVs hit three buildings in Chuhuiv, damaging windows and roofs. A 41-year-old civilian man sustained an explosive injury but was not hospitalised. 

Pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 5.9 hectares of territory and defused 71 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office informed that russian troops shelled Chasiv Yar with Grad MRLs for two hours, a woman was killed and five people injured. Four women and one man, aged 38 to 84, sustained shrapnel wounds. The oldest victim is in critical condition and doctors are fighting for her life. At the time of the attack, people were receiving water and bread from volunteers. The shelling also damaged private households and a car.

At 1 am russians attacked downtown with four S-300 missiles. An educational institution, 2 administrative buildings, 2 private enterprises, 2 apartment buildings and cars were damaged. Preliminary, no people were injured.

Yesterday russian troops attacked civilians 15 times. Seven settlements were under attack: Avdiivka, Chasiv Yar cities, Ocheretyne, Pivnichne settlements, Novozhelanne, Orlivka and Tonenke villages. 17 civilian objects were damaged, such as, 14 residential buildings, an educational institution and shops.

Towards Volnovakha, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka and Bohoiavlenka were under attack, there were no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, 2 people were injured in Avdiivka. Three streets were shelled in Krasnohorivka of Marinka community and the outskirts of Soloviove of Ocheretyne community. In the middle of the night, russians launched 4 missiles at Selydove and as a result 4 apartment buildings and 7 administrative buildings.

Towards Horlivka, 3 apartment buildings were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. In Toretsk community, russians dropped a guided aerial bomb on Pivnichne, damaging 6 buildings and 2 administrative buildings.

Towards Lysychansk, a building was damaged in Siversk. Lyman community suffered 8 attacks. 

The invaders continue to storm Avdiivka. Two residents were inju6 in the shelling.

The enemy dropped two KAB-250 bombs on Pivnichne and shelled the village with artillery. 10 apartment buildings, an educational institution and shops were damaged. There is no information on casualties so far.

It is reported that russian troops attacked Novozhelanne with an S-300 missile, destroying 4 private buildings.

Search operations have been going on for six days in Novohrodivka. According to Oleksandr Shevchenko, Head of Novohrodivka City Military Administration, fragments of bodies that cannot be identified were found under the rubble. DNA testing will be conducted in the future.

Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of Achilles Brigade, confirmed that near Bakhmut, Ukrainian troops are destroying 80% of russian equipment that falls into the field of artillery and UAVs.

Luhansk oblast

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that the enemy has intensified air pressure again. Yesterday with support from the sky, they made several assaults on Bilohorivka and Serebrianka forestry. The enemy tried to kick Ukrainian troops out of their positions but all these attempts were repelled. Novoiehorivka also suffered an airstrike. The invaders shelled the settlements with artillery and mortars, specifically, Nevske and Bilohorivka. There were more than 500 hits on the de-occupied territory over the day.

Not a single resident was left in Raihorodka of Kolomyichykha community, Svatove region. Before russia’s full-scale invasion, about 600 people lived in this village. Recently, russians forced the last four locals to leave. People were travelling on their own to the nearest occupied settlements, where it was safer. The village, which is located about 3 km from the contact line, remained empty.

Also russian authorities have begun to cut the budgets of the occupied territories as the level of subsidies there has reached 95%. The local occupation authorities do not control prices. Food in settlements located away from the front line costs twice as much. The houses of Luhansk residents where russian troops were stationed are being cut off from the centralised gas supply for debts since they have not paid for utilities all this time.

In the temporarily occupied Luhansk oblast, russians are going to cut funding and have ordered local administrations to get ready for this or cut spending themselves.

Two residents of Nevske were taken to a medical facility in Donetsk oblast. A 62-year-old woman suffered a complication after being injured last autumn, namely a mine-blast injury to her abdomen.

Unlike Sievierodonetsk, Rubizhne no longer receives any travelling builders. A russian construction company has come to the city, specifically, the management is without workers. They are looking for workers around the city through the occupation administration and the employment centre, after which they invite them to do free reconstruction work.

Sievierodonetsk remains without centralised heating, even in the few houses where modular boilers have been installed. The invaders have conducted a pressure test and stopped there. 

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On the International Volunteer Day, Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded Ukrainian volunteers with the Golden Heart Presidential Awards. He noted that as long as volunteer hearts beat in Ukraine, the Ukrainian people beat. The ceremony took place at the Art Arsenal in Kyiv.

In Irpin, the restoration of two apartment buildings is underway at the expense of the Aggression Response Fund. These are 2-storey buildings that were heavily damaged as a result of the russian aggression. Before the war, about 150 people lived here.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, after the bridges were blown up in the north of Kyiv oblast, some people were left in isolation on the left bank of the Prypiat River in the Chornobyl zone. Border guards, together with representatives of the postal service  deliver payments, food and medicine to local residents.

From November 26 to December 2, Ukrainian forensic scientists attended a special training course in Kyiv on DNA identification using ENDI 6C equipment. Ukrainian police officers from different regions of Ukraine received these portable forensic testing kits from our US partners. Upon completion of the training, they received certificates and the laboratories themselves.

Kyiv City Employment Centre supports war veterans and their families, assists them in adapting to civilian life and returning to work. To this end, combatants are offered employment services, training and participation in grant programmes. Citizens discharged from military service who were mobilised during martial law are entitled to priority employment services.

The 12th Civil Society Development Forum has started in Kyiv. Panel discussions, breakout sessions, a fair, and a children’s zone are planned – the forum has seven locations and more than 150 speakers. The forum will also feature the annual volunteer award ceremony organised by the Euromaidan SOS initiative.

A video clip for the song Sorry, Ukraine by Przemysław Bogusz was shot in Poland with the support of the Polish Institute in Kyiv. The author wrote this song back in 2015, impressed by the situation of Ukrainian soldiers fighting against a stronger enemy. The video was edited by Krzysztof Studzinski based on materials provided by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Ukrainian journalists covering the events on the frontline.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to  the National Police of Zhytomyr oblast, Zhytomyr forensic experts have received a mobile DNA laboratory worth USD 330,000. The portable complexes, which were donated to Ukrainian police by partners from the United States, can be used both indoors and in the field.

Serhii Sukhomlyn, Mayor of Zhytomyr, reported that the city is developing a project for a rehabilitation centre for the military. There are proposals from the winners of the architectural competition for students – they will choose from the three projects that won first place.

The digital project Agent 112, a mobile game designed for children aged 6 to 12, was presented in Zhytomyr. While playing, children will learn life safety rules and practise an algorithm of actions in dangerous situations. The game for Android gadgets was created by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Zhytomyr Polytechnic University and Zhytomyr Rescuer Charitable Foundation.

Sumy oblast

According to Sumy RMA, the russian military fired three times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 10 attacks with artillery and mortars. The Krasnopillia,  Seredyna-Buda and Znob-Novhorodske communities were shelled.

Over the past day, russian invaders carried out 11 attacks, with a total of 57 explosions. The Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Seredyna-Buda, and Znob-Novhorodske communities were under hostile fire.

On December 4, the enemy carried out 2 FPV drone strikes and 13 mortar attacks on the territory of Krasnopillia community, fired 4 mortar attacks on Seredyna-Buda community, 3 mortar and 4 artillery strikes on the territory of Bilopillia community, and dropped 12 mines on the territory of Znob-Novhorodske community.

Sumy RMA reported that on December 4, a civilian was injured as a result of mortar shelling of the Velyka Pysarivka community. The enemy fired 18 mortar shells and 1 artillery strike on its territory.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, russian troops launched 2 artillery and 41 mortar attacks on the border of Chernihiv Oblast. Two communities were under enemy fire: Semenivka – 4 attacks with cannon artillery and mortars towards the settlements of Serhiivske and Mkhy; Snovsk – 39 mortar attacks towards the settlement of Kliusy.

The facade and 42 rooms of Chernihiv maternity hospital, which were damaged during active hostilities in February-March 2022, have been repaired. The healthcare facility won a grant of almost UAH 7 million from the USAID project, which was used to restore the maternity hospital’s explosion-damaged facade, ceilings, floors, and walls.

Chernihiv RMA reported that 13 new school buses have been delivered to communities of the oblast. The vehicles were purchased at the expense of an educational subvention and co-financing from the communities. They will serve the children of Baturyn, Borzna, Nova Basan, Novyi Bilous, Sukhopolova, Talalaivka, Tupychiv, Kozelets, Koriukivka, Kyselivka, Kulykivka, Liubech and Ripky communities.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

In the morning, the occupiers attacked Nikopol region. During the day, Nikopol itself and Marhanets community were stuck with artillery, UAVs and kamikaze drones. The attacks in Nikopol damaged a high-rise building, a sanatorium, an administrative building and a minibus. There were no casualties.

Vinnytsia oblast

According to the South Operational Command, at night air defense destroyed one enemy Shahed drone in the oblast.

Nine-year-old Maria Vlasenko from the town of Bar has raised more than UAH 100K for the needs of the defenders in over a year. In the middle of the city, the girl gave piano concerts for donations. The girl gave her first concert on August 10, 2022. At the time, she was raising money for her father and the battalion of the 93rd Brigade, where he served.

On St. Nicholas Day, the Department of Social Policy, together with the Interregional Humanitarian Coordination Headquarters, organized an event for the children of fallen defenders. Contests and entertainment with animators were held for about 30 young participants. In addition, St. Nicholas came to the party and distributed gifts from charitable organizations.

Kirovohrad oblast

Kropyvnytskyi residents said goodbye to Anatolii Prykhodko and Ruslan Vereta. 

Anatoliy Prykhodko was killed on November 30 while performing a combat mission near the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk oblast. He was 44 years old. Ruslan Vereta was killed on April 22, 2022, as a result of artillery shelling near the village of Novotoshkivske, Luhansk oblast. He was 41 years old.

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, says that on Maidan Heroes Square, 12 Christmas trees were decorated. They symbolize the unity of Kirovohrad oblast with Ukrainian hero cities, soldiers and volunteers. They were decorated by the military, volunteers, citizens, immigrants from other cities, and families of the victims. Last year’s RMA initiative continued this year. 

Poltava oblast

Filip Pronin, Head of the RMA, informs that pickup trucks were sent to the front line. Five cars were purchased by raising military personal income tax from the budget of the Lannivska community. In total, over UAH 6 million was allocated.

The President of Ukraine awarded volunteers from Poltava oblast with the Golden Heart award. These are David Dzhalahonia, Director of the All-Ukrainian Charitable Foundation for Relief and Development Help Group, Iryna Kaptur, founder of the Iryna Kaptur Charitable Foundation and Maryna Shliapina, Head of the NGO Way to People.

Cherkasy oblast

At the Cherkasy Pilot School, instructors are training  new talented military and civilian FPV drone pilots. Several hundred specialists have already been trained. Hundreds of kilometers away from the frontline, students of the FPV drone piloting school are enhancing their skills in practice. The school also provides classes with a simulator, a mini-microdrone, and indoor flying over obstacles.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Olexander Tarnavsky, Commander of the Tavria operational-strategic group reported that on December 5, there was a personnel rotation in the continuous monitoring mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. This operation was conducted under the Tavria control.

The East Air Command informed that the air defense forces at Zaporizhzhia successfully intercepted and shot down a russian reconnaissance UAV.

Furthermore, according to Zaporizhzhia RMA, on December 4, the russian military carried out 157 strikes on cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Specifically, they targeted areas such as Huliaypole, Orikhove, Levadne, Poltavka, Robitne, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Bilohirya, Shcherbakiv, Piatykhatky, and Kamianske with artillery fire 128 times.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitaliy Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv RMA reported that in Mykolaiv oblast, two russian Shahed-136/131 UAVs were intercepted and shot down. Additionally, the russian military conducted attacks on the water area and Ochakiv city, along with an open area in Bereznehuvate community. There were no casualties reported.

At the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi, the Ukrainian Union of Culture and Arts Disabled introduced the LIFE MUST GO ON project. This project aims to provide support to children who have experienced war activities and ASD through therapeutic artistic practices. The primary focus of this initiative is to engage these children in creative activities while also addressing and correcting any resulting phobias.

Odesa oblast

Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mayor of Istanbul city announced during an online meeting with Hennadii Trukhanov, Mayor of Odesa, that 41 generators and 10 buses will be donated soon from Istanbul to Odesa. The issue is currently underway. İmamoğlu highlighted the significance of supporting the energy system of Ukraine, specifically focusing on Odesa. The meeting was attended by Vasyl Bodnar, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkiye, and Roman Nedilskyi, Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul.

According to the official website of the Office of the President of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honoured Ukrainian volunteers, including three individuals from Odesa, with the Golden Heart presidential award. The award was granted in recognition of their significant personal contribution to the provision of volunteer assistance and development of the volunteer movement. Particularly, it acknowledges their role in fortifying Ukraine’s defense, ensuring public safety, and protecting the state’s interests amidst the russian federation’s military aggression against Ukraine and its aftermath.

Kherson oblast

The Prosecutor’s Office of Kherson oblast reported that a village in Bilozirka community was shelled by the russian military. A woman was killed in her own yard.

Kherson RMA reported that at about 9:00 a.m., Kherson city center was targeted by artillery fire from the russian military. The shelling resulted in the deaths of a 48-year-old man and a woman. Also, a 59-year-old resident sustained critical injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Due to the russian military shelling of a medical facility in Kherson, four individuals were injured. Among those harmed were two doctors, a midwife, and a staff member from one of the departments within the facility.

Viktor Shapoval, Director of the Askania-Nova reserve in Kherson oblast, informed Suspilne about the unauthorized exchange of animals by the occupying administration of the reserve with the natural biosphere reserve Rostovskiy and the association Living Nature of the Steppe.

Residents of Antonivka in Kherson oblast received generators from volunteers associated with the Global Empowerment Mission (GEM). The GEM, an American foundation, remains committed to delivering humanitarian aid to even the most dangerous regions, ensuring that local inhabitants can endure the winter in their homes.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council will co-finance the purchase of an apartment for Volyn military servicewoman Maiia Moskvych. The city council will pay 50 percent of the housing cost. Maiia Moskvych comes from the village of Nichohivka. In August of last year, she brought home three gold medals for Ukraine from the Games of Warriors held in the USA: she won first place in archery, bullet shooting from a standing rifle and won in golf. Currently serves in the 2nd separate rifle battalion of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Zakarpattia oblast

The military unit stationed in Zakarpattia received 10 sets of Starlink satellite communication terminal with conversion thanks to Velykoluchka community at the expense of the corresponding subvention from the regional budget.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ruslan Marcinkiv, Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, announced that the city sent walkie-talkies to the soldiers of the National Guard.

Ivano-Frankivsk allocated UAH 28 mln 347,5K for defenders from the 102nd brigade and 78th battalion. Of them: 500K – subvention, 9 mln 871,5K – equipment, 4 mln 476K – 4 pickup trucks and 13,5 mln – material and household goods from our communal enterprises. Also, materials worth UAH 132K and 2 cars worth UAH 300K were sent from the My City of Ivano-Frankivsk CF.

Lviv oblast

During the air alert, around 4 o’clock in the morning, the enemy attacked an infrastructure object in Lviv oblast with three drones. As a result of the impact, a fire broke out, which was promptly extinguished by the workers. There are minor damages. There were no casualties or damage. There is also no damage to the life support systems of the oblast.

The Ukrainian-Polish Business Forum was launched in Lviv oblast. A hundred participants from both countries gathered to jointly develop new areas of cooperation, in particular in the field of trade between business representatives of Silesia (a region in Poland) and Lviv oblast.

Drohobych region received hundreds of items of rehabilitation equipment, bicycles, lifts, wheelchairs, regulators, verticalizers, bandages, medical and antibacterial products, etc. from the Ukrainian community in Norway.

Svшatoslav Pushkar, defender from the village of Tukhlya of Slavic community, received the Cross of the Brave award from Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This is his second high award, previously the soldier was awarded the For Military Service to Ukraine medal.

Rivne oblast

Roza Slobodeniuk, Director of the Department of Social Policy, informed that since the beginning of the year, the register of volunteers of the State Tax Service continues to grow rapidly. Only in the first half of 2023, almost 2,3K people were added to the database – almost as many as in the entire previous year. Today, there are almost 5K people in the base, 124 of them from Rivne oblast.

Residents of Derazhn community purchased 7 branded “revenge” drones. Each one is named after the villages of the community, namely Derazhne, Susk, Hannivka, Duksyn, Bychal, Postojne, Zhilzha and Solomka. Two quadcopters were sent to a unit of the Separate Mountain Assault Brigade, the rest to one of the territorial defense battalions, where local residents serve. The community added that they will continue to help the Armed Forces in order to be useful in their place.

Ternopil oblast

The newly created anti-aircraft machine gun battalion, which is assigned to protect the oblast from enemy drones, received 20 more turrets and powerful machines that will perform combat tasks. Namely, to protect critical infrastructure and networks as much as possible. After the installation of the necessary equipment (turrets, searchlights, etc.), fighters of mobile fire groups will work on them

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine, Eduard Lobov was awarded with the 3th degree For Courage Order (posthumously).

Chernivtsi oblast

The Ukrainian Team volunteer headquarters sent another batch of kamikaze drones to the fighters of the 144th separate brigade. Soon, the military will go to one of the hottest destinations.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Lithuania allocates €1 mln to Ukraine through the Fund of the Development Bank of the Council of Europe. According to Gintare Skaiste, Minister of Finance of Lithuania, the key focus of the fund will be on the social and medical infrastructure of Ukraine, as well as the reconstruction of residential buildings. In total, Lithuania allocated over 1,9% of GDP to support Ukraine through various instruments of financial and direct support. This is one of the highest indicators.

Slovenia will provide Ukraine with €1,5 mln for humanitarian demining. Funds will be provided this year on an irrevocable basis.

Ukraine will be the first to receive the latest German self-propelled guns, which are capable of firing on the move. RCH 155 self-propelled guns, which Ukraine is to receive in the amount of 18 units. The purchase worth €216 mln will be financed by Berlin.

The Assembly of the International Maritime Organization adopted a resolution in support of Ukrainian efforts in the Black Sea – Ukrainian success in restoring shipping and the operation of the new “grain corridor”. By the way, this export corridor has already produced results – over 7 mln tonnes of cargo.

Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, started the first round of consultations with Charles Frize, Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service for Peace, Security and Defense regarding the EU‘s collective security guarantees. These consultations took place in the development of the G7 Joint Declaration on Support for Ukraine dated July 12, 2023.

Antti Hakkianen, Defense Minister, announced that Finland intends to increase the production of artillery ammunition in order to send them to Ukraine.

Marcela Colaku, Prime Minister of Romania, announced that the country intends to play a key role in the reconstruction of Ukraine after the end of the war unleashed by russia.

Ukraine and Danish Vestas will build the largest wind power plant in Ukraine for €450 mln. This plant will be able to produce about 1,7 TWh of electricity every year. This is enough for the needs of 900K households, which is important for southern Ukraine. The project is supported by the European Commission and the governments of Ukraine and Denmark.

Artists from Denmark, Italy, France and Ukraine are creating a joint project Augmented Reality Tales of War and Peace (ARTWP), the focus of which is the russian-Ukrainian war. Within the framework of this project, cultural figures of these countries, including composers, theatre artists, poets, writers and artists reflect on the consequences of the russian aggression in Ukraine, peace and victory, and the role of the artist in this process.
