It has been the 532nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Over the last day, russian forces launched 2 missile and 28 air strikes, fired 35 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops’ positions and settlements. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure. 

There is still a high threat of missile and air strikes across all Ukraine.

There were 22 combat engagements over the day.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation remained unchanged.

In the Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 30 settlements, including Khrinivka, Huta-Studenetska, Buchky, and Hremiach in Chernihiv  oblast; Novovasylivka, Baranivka, Atynske, Stepne, Volodymyrivka in Sumy oblast and Udy, Sosnivka, Hraniv, Staritsia, Vovchansk and Nesterne in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, our defenders repelled attacks by russian troops in the area north of Sinkivka and northeast of Ivanivka in Kharkiv oblast. More than 10 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Fiholivka, Zakhidne, Petropavlivka, Podoly, Berestove in Kharkiv  oblast.

Towards Lyman, the enemy launched air strikes near Bilohorivka in Luhansk  oblast and Spirne and Vesele in Donetsk  oblast. Nevske and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Torske, Spirne and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk  oblast were subjected to enemy artillery fire.

Towards Bakhmut, our troops are holding steadfastly, repelling enemy attacks on the outskirts of Klishchiivka and northeast of Druzhba in Donetsk oblast. The enemy launched an air strike in the vicinity of Klishchiyivka. More than 10 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Malynivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Predtechine and Diliivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, under heavy fire from enemy aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks by russian troops near Avdiivka and southeast of Sievierne in Donetsk oblast. There was an airstrike near Avdiivka, Donetsk region. Avdiivka, Karlivka, Pervomayske, Nevelske in Donetsk oblast came under artillery fire.

Towards Marinka, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the russian offensive in the vicinity of Marinka, Donetsk  oblast. The enemy conducted an airstrike near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk  oblast. Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk  oblast came under artillery fire.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost position in the area of Staromaiorske, Donetsk oblast. There were airstrikes in Blahodatne and Staromayorske regions of Donetsk  oblast. Vuhledar, Odradne, Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne, Staromaiorske in Donetsk  oblast came under artillery fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area south of Novodanylivka, Zaporizhzhia  oblast. More than 15 settlements came under artillery fire, including Novodarivka, Olhivske, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Piatikhatky, Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk  oblast.

Towards Kherson, the enemy conducted airstrikes targeting Odradokamianka, Lvivske, and Komyshany in Kherson oblast. More than 20 settlements came under enemy artillery fire, including Zolota Balka, Respublikanets, Odradokamianka, Novotianka, Antonivka and Veletynske in Kherson region and the city of Kherson, as well as Kutsurub, Ochakiv, and Mykolaiv  oblast.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol and Berdiansk, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

Ukrainian aviation conducted 10 strikes on buildups of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 1 on an anti-aircraft missile system and another on an enemy logistics hub.

Rocket and artillery units hit 3 command posts, 5 artillery pieces at firing positions, a buildup of personnel, weapons and military equipment, an electronic warfare station and another important enemy object.


Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says that 5 nuclear units damaged by russia’s massive attacks on critical infrastructure were repaired. 4 more units are still under repair. In addition, 24 TPP power units have been repaired or are under repair, 30% of CHPPs are under repair, and 70% have already been repaired. 

According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 40 K square kilometers of Ukraine’s territory have been liberated. This is more than the territory of Moldova.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that fighting continues on the frontline. The enemy made another unsuccessful attempt to advance near Synkivka and retreated under Ukrainian fire.

The number of attacks towards Kupiansk s has increased over the past month as russians are shelling settlements of Kupiansk region every day, causing casualties. The regional administration plans to intensify evacuations from Kupiansk region and Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, calls the increase in shelling “revenge” for the success of Ukrainian forces at the front.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv RMA, informed that yesterday russian invaders massively shelled settlements in Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Izium and Kupiansk regions with artillery, mortars, guided bombs and other weapons.

Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of Derhachi City Military Administration, reported that in Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region, two men, aged 67 and 66, were injured in the morning of 8 August as a result of a shelling, one had part of his leg torn off, the other received shrapnel wounds. According to him, at least seven buildings were damaged, one of which burned down completely.

A 14-year-old boy was injured in Kupiansk. He is hospitalized in moderate to critical condition.

Podoly village, Kupiansk region, was under constant shelling. Several private buildings were damaged and fires broke out.

In Kucherivka village, Kupiansk region, private buildings and cars were damaged by shelling and a forest fire broke out.

As a result of massive attacks on Vovchansk, a few private buildings and an elevator were damaged.

In Kupiansk Vuzlovyi, Kupiansk region, as a result of the hit by guided bomb, a building of the civil enterprise was damaged.

4 buildings were damaged and fires broke out as a result of the shelling in Siryi Yar village, Kupiansk region.

Over the day pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined 5 hectares of the territory and defused 68 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Emergency and rescue operations have been completed in an apartment building in Pokrovsk that was damaged by shelling on August 7. Nine people were killed and 88 injured. 122 tonnes of construction waste was removed from the rubble site.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, towards Volnovakha, russians shelled Bohoiavlenka of Vuhledar community with Grad MRLs. There were no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, there was shelling of Krasnohorivka and Katerynivka of Marinka community.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was injured in Mykolaivka of Kostiantynivka community. Five buildings and a warehouse were damaged in Pleshchiivka of Illinivsk community.

Towards Lysychansk, 1 person was injured in Yampil of Lyman community.

Donetsk police informed that on 8 August, russian troops shelled Uspenivka of Kurakhove community with Tornado-S, hit Pleshchiivka with artillery, and dropped a FAB-250 guided bomb on Shcherbynivka village, damaging buildings, warehouses and power grids.

In just a day, the number of russian casualties in Donetsk oblast increased by 2 eliminated and 13 injured.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy is intensifying air pressure on the frontline. Yesterday, they conducted air strikes on Novoselivske and Bilohorivka. Bilohorivka was also under artillery attack.

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the number of injured and killed as a result of occupation troops’ failed attempts to storm towards  Svatove-Kreminna is increasing. Medical workers from the special purpose unit of the 442nd District Military Clinical Hospital of russian Ministry of Defence arrived in Svatove to evacuate the injured. Between 1 and 7 August, they transported about 500 invaders with gunshot wounds of varying severity to hospitals in belgorod. In order to hide the real number of their losses at the front, dead russians are sent to Rostov-on-Don.

In Troitske, the invaders deceived the population once again. They went from house to house, checked phones and property documents and counted empty houses.

In occupied Sievierodonetsk, metal collection points are in demand as people who are unable to find a job are bringing everything they see around them. Oleksandr Striuk, Head of the City Military Administration, reported that the invaders continue to loot apartments under the guise of allegedly restoring them. No one is rebuilding the sewage treatment plant. Collaborators and russians dismantled the boiler houses in the new districts of the city. The invaders do not maintain the lakes on the territory of the settlement and due to the lack of artificial filling, the reservoirs have become shallow.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

In Vyshhorod region, near Lytvynivka village, EOD squad divers found artillery ammunition in a pond. According to the State Emergency Service’s Mobile Rescue Centre, following a request from local residents, an underwater demining team checked the area and retrieved 11 30 mm artillery shells from the bottom of the pond.

According to Vadym Tokar, Head of Makariv city, in Makariv community, 10 private houses are being rebuilt for residents whose homes were destroyed by russian shelling during the russian army’s offensive on Kyiv. The regional housing rehabilitation programme also provides for the connection of electricity, gas, water and sewerage networks at each facility, and each house will be furnished.

Restoration of the Kazka kindergarten, damaged during the russian invasion, continues in Horenka. Hostomel Military Administration reported that the preschool facility is being restored at the expense of benefactors and the local budget. A shelter will be also built on the territory of the kindergarten.

The reconstruction of Lyceum No. 3 in Irpin is in its final stages. The institution is being rebuilt with funds from UNICEF and philanthropists. This lyceum suffered the greatest destruction of all educational institutions in the city. It is expected to enroll about 1,500 students in September.

Serhii Popko, Head of Kyiv International Business Association, reported that in order to prepare the capital for the winter period, more than 1,000 Invincibility Centres have been prepared, 150 pump rooms equipped with generators in case of water supply problems, and 23 mobile boilers purchased to provide heat to more than 100 critical infrastructure facilities.

The documentary and educational project My Crimea was presented in Kyiv on the occasion of the Day of Indigenous Peoples. According to the film’s director Olena Kryvenko, the main goal was to make an educational film for school students that would introduce them to the indigenous peoples of Ukraine, their culture and traditions. The film also raises the problems of deportation of indigenous peoples from Crimea, forced assimilation and the consequences of 1940s repressions.

Writer and philanthropist Mitzi Purdue visited the de-occupied territories of Kyiv oblast to meet dog handlers and their pets. Police officers and their four-legged partners demonstrated how to search for explosives and drugs on a differentiated board, in luggage and a vehicle.

Zhytomyr oblast

Almost 400 Ukrainian citizens from different oblasts started their service in the 9th Sich Riflemen Border Guard Detachment in Zhytomyr oblast in 2023. According to Dmytro Kravchenko, Head of the recruitment department of the border guard detachment, the number of people willing to serve in the Border Guard Troops of Ukraine and sign contracts has increased several times compared to the same periods in previous years.

Social institutions in Zhytomyr oblast will receive 200 Wi-Fi routers to build wireless internet networks in shelters. The equipment provided by Nokia will provide a stable Internet connection to the shelters of 163 social institutions in more than 40 territorial communities of the oblast.

The Zelenbud utility company informed that the installation of modular shelters near the parks on Pokrovska and Liatoshynskoho streets has begun in Zhytomyr. In total, 6 such shelters are planned to be installed in the city in the most crowded places, in parks, markets, and supermarkets. According to the project, the shelters will withstand a shock wave of 100 kilopascals and will protect against shrapnel.

An exhibition of paintings Destroyed Cities of Ukraine opened in Zhytomyr’S Regional Literary Museum. The author is a 15-year-old artist from Khoroshev, Maksym Kosiakevych. The paintings portray Mariupol, Bakhmut, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr and other cities destroyed by russian shelling. The exhibition includes 14 artworks painted in black and white and drawn with a pencil.

Sumy oblast

Yesterday, there were 76 explosions in Sumy oblast. 11 settlements in 7 territorial communities came under fire: Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Khotin, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, Velyka Pysarivka, and Nova Sloboda. According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, as a result of russian attacks, residential buildings, a hangar and agricultural machinery of a local agricultural company were destroyed. At night and in the morning of August 9, the enemy shelled Khotin, Znob-Novhorodske, and  Velyka Pysarivka communities. 

Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, urged citizens to evacuate to government-controlled territory through the humanitarian corridor Kolotylivka – Pokrovka on the border of belgorod (russia) region and Sumy oblast. Free buses run from Pokrivka to Krasnopillia, where the first reception points are located. There people can take a break, receive medical and humanitarian aid, as well as all the necessary information for further travel destinations.

The RMA reported that the enemy damaged or destroyed 25 cultural heritage sites in Sumy oblast. In total, 763 cultural heritage sites have been damaged or destroyed as a result of russian aggression in Ukraine in almost a year and a half. 

According to Sumy State Emergency Service, in Okhtyrka, Konotop and Sumy regions, EOD squads of the State Emergency Service disposed of 2 artillery shells, a mortar bomb, and 2 explosives. 

Chernihiv oblast

It is reported that russians opened fire from their territory 10 times on the border areas of Chernihiv oblast. In total, border guards recorded 59 shells fired from mortars and barrel artillery, as well as 6 explosions from free-flight aerial rockets launched from a helicopter. Novhorod-Siversk, Horodnia, and Semenivka communities were under enemy fire. Several houses and outbuildings were destroyed as a result of the shelling.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that on the morning of August 9, the russian military shelled Novhorod-Siversk and Snovsk communities. There were 10 mortar bombs and six machine-gun bursts fired in the direction of Horodyshche village and 15 attacks from cannon artillery near Kliusy village.

As part of the Army of Drones project in Chernihiv oblast, instructors at the Sky Spies drone school train UAV operators to perform combat missions. The training period lasts one week, after which the UAV operators will be the “eyes” of their battalions at the frontline. Up to 50 servicemen are trained in each group, and they are taught how to use coordinates to get to a target, set up defenses, deploy equipment and use drones to track the enemy.

UAH 188 million has been allocated to rebuild Yahidne village, which was under russian occupation for 27 days. According to a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the money will be used to restore a library club, a secondary school, 17 apartment buildings and 101 private houses, street and road network and communications.

Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that in Chernihiv oblast, 1,003 people received the status of a child affected by hostilities. 3,673 requests from 42 territorial communities have been submitted in order to receive this status. The process of obtaining the status involves application registration, their consideration by the committee on child protection and final decision-making by the executive committee.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the regional council, an 18 years old boy was killed in Nikopol by enemy shelling. Three other men were wounded. A 21-year-old man was hospitalized with a mine-blast injury, a chest and shoulder wound. Two men aged 45 and 35 also sustained shrapnel wounds. The shelling damaged a church, 5 residential buildings, 2 outbuildings, a car, 4 power lines, and a gas pipeline.

According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the Regional Council, the russians also shelled Marhanets community with artillery during the night. In the afternoon, russians attacked Nikopol again with artillery. The shelling caused a fire in a private house. 12 houses, garages, solar panels, power lines and gas pipelines were damaged. The occupiers also shelled the villages of Marhanets community in Nikopol region twice.

According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the Regional Council, 11-year-old wounded Mykyta from Pokrovsk in Donetsk oblast is being treated in a medical facility in Dnipropetrovsk oblast. The boy was injured as a result of a missile attack by russian troops on 7 August. He was admitted to the hospital in critical condition with fractures and burns.

More than 84 K IDPs live in Kryvyi Rih region of Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Among them are more than 22,500 children, more than 16 K pensioners and more than 3 K are people with disabilities.

Vinnytsia oblast

3D graphics and animation courses for children from Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kyiv oblasts have started in Vinnytsia. The participants will create an augmented reality mobile app for nature books by Vinnytsia writer Daria Palamarchuk.

Poltava oblast

The Security Service of Ukraine reported that representatives of the Main Directorate presented a joint project with UNDP. It is a public space for the implementation of civil protection tasks, educational and socio-psychological projects, first aid training programmes, implementation and conduct of psychological rehabilitation of personnel of rescue, pyrotechnic and fire-rescue units on the basis of the Main Directorate of the SES of Ukraine in Poltava oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

According to Ihor Taburets, Head of the Cherkasy Military Administration, 32 houses have already been restored by Cherkasy workers in Ivanivka, Kherson oblast, and 26 more are being repaired.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The Armed forces of Ukraine continue their advance towards Melitopol and Berdiansk. Our defenders achieved partial success towards Urozhaine, Priiutne, and Verbove. They are currently consolidating their positions at the achieved lines.

On August 8, the occupiers launched 87 strikes on 21 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. As a result of enemy attacks, Novooleksandrivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Novodarivka, Hulyaipilske, Olhivske, Malynivka, Charivne, Chervone, Bilohiria, Levadne, Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, Zatyshshia, Kamianske, Stepove, Piatyhatky, and Lobkove were affected. Four rocket artillery attacks targeted Novodarivka, Temyrivka, and Stepove, while four drone attacks struck Novodarivka, Kamianske, and Lukianivka. Three airstrikes were carried out by russian military aircraft, targeting Orikhiv and Novodarivka. A 63-year-old man was injured due to an enemy strike on Orikhiv. There were 35 reports of damage to residential buildings, outbuildings, and infrastructure facilities. Today, the enemy attacked Zaporizhzhia district without causing casualties.

According to the General Staff’s report, in the settlement of Stulneve, the occupiers have begun preparations for ‘agitation’ before the so-called “elections” in the occupied territories on the unified voting day in russia, which will take place on September 10. It is expected that representatives from the “united russia” party will arrive to create groups of agitators and informants from among local collaborators.

Mykolaiv oblast

The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv oblast reports that explosive ordnance disposal teams of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have destroyed over 18,5K units of ammunition in Mykolaiv oblast since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Sappers have cleared 4,944 hectares, including 20 hectares of water bodies.

Arad Benkö, Ambassador of Austria to Ukraine, visited the south of Ukraine and delivered humanitarian aid to Kherson and Mykolaiv. Generators, computers, laptops, and medical supplies, collected through the Initiative for Cooperation in South-East Europe within the framework of the OSCE, where Austria is one of the observing countries, were delivered. This marks the fourth such cargo delivery.

A group of enthusiasts from Mykolaiv, led by Illia Shpoliansky, prominent activist, volunteer, founder of the charitable fund “Hero of Ukraine,” participant of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO)/Joint Forces Operation (JFO), and currently the commander of the combined unit of strike UAVs in the Ukrainian Navy, has developed, manufactured, and successfully used the Bekfaer drone in combat conditions. Over 400 K dollars of sponsor funds have been raised for this project, and no government funds used.

Odesa oblast

Today, Oleksandr Pedan, public figure and well-known television host, visited the city of Yuzhne to meet with local school students. He conducted his widely recognized presentation, which covers topics of mine safety, mental and physical health, and the importance of learning in times of war. 

An event dedicated to indigenous peoples of Ukraine took place in Odesa. Crimean Tatars, who are defending Ukraine’s independence on the frontlines, raising funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (ZSU), and assisting people affected by russian aggression, were the focus. The main goal of the event was to showcase Crimean Tatar culture and to gather funds for the army. 

Kherson oblast

Due to the russian shelling, 6 settlements of Bilozirka community were left without electricity. The enemy damaged a power facility. 

Today, russian artillery shelled a kindergarten in Kherson. As a result of the shelling, a 75-year-old locksmith sustained injuries.

On August 8, the enemy carried out 66 shelling attacks, firing 365 projectiles from mortars, artillery, Grad MLRS, tanks, drones, and aircraft. The russian military targeted residential areas of the region’s settlements. Due to the russian aggression, 2 people were injured. Law enforcement agencies have initiated 20 criminal investigations regarding acts of russian aggression against the civilian population.

The ‘South’ Operational Command reports that our rocket-artillery units eliminated 59 occupiers, 4 large-caliber howitzers and mortars, and 7 units of armored and engineering vehicles. Additionally, observation and command-observation posts of a motorized infantry platoon were destroyed.

As part of the Side-by-Side initiative, Rivne oblast restored 108 residential buildings in Kochubeivka community. After the russian occupation and combat actions, 170 objects were damaged.

Kherson water utility received support from international partners. The Danish government provided 5 sets of new GRUNDFOS pumping equipment. This equipment will be used for pumping sewage and emergency response. 

Residents of Sadove received necessary materials for repairing buildings damaged by flooding and continuous russian shelling. The regional emergency and rescue service received various types of boards, beams, rails, nails, OSB boards, and mounting foam for carrying out restoration work. Additionally, 15 tons of water were delivered to the residents. Providing people with drinking water has been ongoing since the first days after the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam by the occupiers.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

An all-wheel drive diesel SUV KIA was sent to the front line thanks to the staff of the Center for the Rehabilitation of Combatants of Lutsk community. Medical workers of the Center donated about UAH 160 K to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is already the third car that the staff of the center has purchased for defenders since the war began.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that in Zakarpattia, consultations with representatives of national communities were launched for the first time in Ukraine. They are aimed at implementing key international standards on protection of their rights under  the Unity in Diversity State Targeted National Cultural Program.

Uzhhorod City Council allocated UAH 15 mln from the local budget to support the military.

In the Owl’s Nest humanitarian aid center, IDPs received clothes, bed linen and dishes (a total of 3,000 items were issued), 60 packages with necessary things for children under 2 years of age; 100 grocery sets; 60 hygiene kits thanks to PDUM Partnerschaft Deutschland-Ukraine/Moldova e. V., Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The region received humanitarian cargo, including medical equipment, generators, computer and household appliances, sports equipment for children, etc., from Pilsen region of the Czech Republic.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held an online meeting with Jakub Helstowski, Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship. Poland will send 3 ambulances, equipment and means for rehabilitation to Lviv oblast. In addition, Silesian Voivodeship is ready to host medical students from Lviv oblast to exchange experience.

A Mercedes-Benz ML 400 car was sent from Mostyshch region to their fellow countryman, Senior Lieutenant Volodymyr Zhuk, who is currently defending Ukraine on the front line. They also sent a camouflage net woven by employees of the department of culture, tourism and protection of cultural heritage of the community.

400 IDPs who found shelter in Drohobych community received packages with hygiene and kitchen kits and basic necessities from the Right to Protection CF.

Children from Boryslav community, whose parents defended or are defending Ukraine, went on vacation to Walbrzych (Poland). Excursions, cultural leisure and communication with local peers are included in the trip.

Military Ivan Pistoliak from Skoliv community was awarded with the Golden Cross medal from Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine, Ihor Vesniya, border guard from Velikomostiv community, was awarded with the 3th degree Order of Courage (posthumously) for personal courage and heroism. The family of the defender received the award.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a Defense Council of the oblast. Readiness to overcome the consequences of possible missile attacks was discussed. In particular, each community should have a reserve of fuel, lubricants, construction and other materials. In addition, it was decided to form a reserve fund to overcome emergency situations, including consequences of enemy air attacks, in the amount of up to 1% of the community’s total budget.

In Rivne, at the beginning of July, during the finals of the charity tournament First place of the National Police Headquarters in Rivne oblast in mini-football among teams of police territorial and regional units on the occasion of the National Police Day of Ukraine, UAH 63K were collected. These funds were used to purchase the Stalker multi-use FPV-drone for the 3rd mechanized battalion of the 14th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The sixth military photo exhibition HEAVENLY PHOTOGRAPHER was opened in Rivne. There are photos by Maksym Burda, soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, photographer and activist from Kovel, who was killed on January 26, 2023.

Ternopil oblast

In the village of Lishnia, the seventh All-Ukrainian commemoration for families of fallen servicemen continues. The liturgy was held in the pantheon temple, which is being built in honor of those who gave their lives for our freedom in the russian-Ukrainian war. This year, the event gathered approximately 1,3K people from 12 oblasts of Ukraine.

Ihor Dykun, 29-year-old military man from Ternopil oblast, received the For Military Valor Badge from the Ministry of Defense.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In Khmelnytskyi, musical accompaniment was introduced to the national minute of silence. In the center of the city, the Shana composition will be played by musicians of the academic municipal brass band. In this way, the people of Khmelnytskyi will be reminded that at 9:00 a.m. in all cities and villages of Ukraine there will be a moment of silence for those who were killed as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Recovery national project, the purpose of which is rehabilitation, assistance in prosthetics and treatment of the seriously wounded during the war. Creating a modern rehabilitation center for defenders in the oblast was discussed.

The RMA reported that the Velotrade relocated enterprise handed over 36 bicycles to Khotyn community.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Thales international industrial group reported that a small batch of Australian ACAR assault rifles was sent to Ukraine as part of military aid with the support of the Australian Ministry of Defense.

Jakob Kallmer, founder and CEO of the Satcube Swedish company, reported that the company started supplying Ukraine with its own satellite Internet terminals that can be used in liberated territories where mobile and terrestrial networks do not work.

The Rheinmetall defense concern bought 50 Leopard 1 tanks from the Belgian company OIP Land Systems. Part of them will be repaired, converted and sent to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, had a phone conversation with Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands. They discussed future security guarantees for Ukraine within the framework of the Joint Declaration, which should be based on the key role of the Netherlands in the coalition of fighter jets.

Kristianis Karinsh, Prime Minister of Latvia, announced that the country joined the G7 declaration in support of Ukraine.

Great Britain introduced sanctions against 22 individuals and legal entities in Iran, Turkey, Dubai, Slovakia, Switzerland and belarus, who support the russian invasion of Ukraine. Three russian companies that imported electronics necessary for russian military equipment were also added to the sanctions list.

Michael Carpenter, permanent representative of the USA to the OSCE, announced that Joseph Biden, US President, ordered to hand over evidence of russian war crimes to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.

Lithuania froze assets of russia and belarus for over €100 mln. Sanctions were applied to 16 legal entities and individuals.

Italy and Portugal suspended the issuance of visas to russians and belarusians in exchange for investment. Latvia has banned russians and belarusians from obtaining residence permits for investments.

Rustamas Lyubajevas, Head of the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania, announced that the country is strengthening its border with belarus. According to him, the situation on the border with belarus and russia is now stable, but remains tense.

The Ministry of Defense of Poland sent 1 K soldiers to the border with belarus. 2 K Polish soldiers are currently guarding the border.

The clip of the Imagine Dragons band, shot in Ukraine, is among the nominees of the MTV Music Video Awards. It was nominated for an award in the Video for Good category. The clip was shot in a bombed-out village in Mykolaiv oblast, featuring a 14-year-old boy, Sasha, who survived the occupation. It is a joint project of Imagine Dragons and the UNITED24 platform, whose ambassadors are the musicians dealing with medical assistance.

On August 4,  a pro-Ukrainian artistic action took place in Washington. Drawings by Nikita Titov, famous Ukrainian poster artist, were projected on the building of the russian diplomatic mission for several hours. Passers-by could see anti-war posters and Ukrainian symbols.
