As of 18:00, the enemy launched 1 missile and 48 air strikes, fired 8 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops’ positions and settlements.
There is still a high threat of launching missile and air strikes across Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy launched airstrikes near Odnorobivka, Strilecha and Hatyshche in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kherson, more than 20 settlements came under enemy artillery fire, including Zolota Balka, Dudchany, Zmiivka, Veletynske, Kherson in Kherson oblast and Ochakiv in Mykolaiv oblast.
Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol and Berdiansk, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.
Aviation of the defense forces conducted 6 strikes on buildups of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.

The Ministry of Defense informs that women’s field uniforms for the Ukrainian Armed Forces are now available. Sample standards for summer field uniforms have been prepared and approved. The relevant procurement and supply procedures will be initiated in the near future.
According to Prime Minister Denis Shmihal, Ukraine spends 100% of the taxes paid by citizens and businesses to meet the needs of security and defense forces. The budget allocates UAH 1.8 trillion for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. This amount is subject to change.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops launched air strikes near five villages, including Odnorobivka in Zolochiv community. Ukrainian defenders repelled the attacks near Vilshana and Synkivka.
55 cultural monuments in Kharkiv oblast were added to the UNESCO list as damaged and destroyed during the full-scale war. Kharkiv Regional Military Administration said that as of 4 August, there were 169 such monuments in the region.
Yesterday, the enemy shelled the settlements of Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Izium and Kupiansk regions. Specifically, Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Mala Vovcha, Ambarne, Bolohivka, Kupiansk, Cherneshchyna and other settlements were under russian attack. Residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged.
As a result of shelling in Petropavlivka village, Kupiansk region, the farm buildings were damaged and fires broke out.

Donetsk oblast
Petro Andriushchenko, Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, reported that russian Guard reinforcements have arrived in occupied Mariupol. They will be conducting sweeps, looking for Ukrainian resistance and partisans.
A mobile medical team of local doctors is working in Kostiantynivka community. The vehicle, medicines and equipment were provided by philanthropists. The team travels daily to the city districts far from the hospital and to the villages of the community, specifically, to Ivanopillia, Novodmytrivka and Stinky.
Yesterday russians launched a missile near Kramatorsk, setting dry grass on fire but causing no casualties.
Towards Donetsk, Avdiivka was massively shelled in the evening, 1 person was injured. In Kurakhove community, Kurakhove, Kurakhivka and Dalnie were attacked. During the day, Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka of Marinka community were under attack.
Towards Horlivka, a bomb damaged 5 buildings in Niu-York. One building was damaged in Chasiv Yar community.
Towards Lysychansk, 1 building in Siversk and 1 in Zvanivka were damaged. There were 19 attacks on Lyman community.
Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday russians injured one civilian in Avdiivka.
Luhansk oblast
Even when it is extremely dangerous, food and other essential items are brought to residents of the de-occupied settlements. People are still staying in Makiivka, Hrekivka, Nevske and Novoliubivka. Despite russian shelling, police and volunteers visit them at least once a week. They delivered another batch of aid the other day. However, Nevske and surrounding villages are under heavy enemy shelling every day. They do not stop destroying Bilohorivka.
To get to Luhansk for business, you do not need a local registration or a pass, unlike in cities close to the front line. The main thing is to have a russian passport. In its absence, the occupation forces carefully check documents, vehicles and ask about the reasons for the trip. And when they are not vital, getting to Luhansk becomes more difficult.
It is not so easy to enter Rubizhne. If you are a civilian, you need a local registration, a real estate title or a pass that is valid for 30 days. At the same time, entrepreneurs can get to Rubizhne only with the permission of the occupation authorities.
Luhansk Regional Military Administration said that the invaders shelled the defense line and the liberated villages of the region 131 times in one day. They are preparing the so-called ‘first elections’ in the occupied territories, intensifying forced passportisation. About a third of the citizens under occupation are avoiding the possibility of obtaining a russian passport in every possible way.
Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk RMA, said that on the night of August 5, russian troops shelled Nevske with Grad MRLs and on the evening of August 4, they hit the village with phosphorus shells. The shelling destroyed a building and damaged a farm, where cattle were killed by fire.

Kyiv oblast
Ruslan Kravchenko, head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, said that more than 12.5 K objects were damaged as a result of russian aggression have been restored in Kyiv oblast. The priority is to rebuild housing and restore critical infrastructure. To date, they have repaired more than 11,100 apartment buildings and private houses, 187 kindergartens and schools, 101 medical facilities, 68 administrative buildings and Administrative Service Centers.
The City Council reports that Kyiv is preparing for the coming difficult heating season by repairing heating networks and stockpiling fuel for thermal power plants. Also, starting in mid-September, the capital plans to increase the number of Invincibility Centers.
The Department of Economics and Investments of the City State Administration reported that the city authorities have published an annual report with key socio-economic indicators of the capital’s life in 2022. The full-scale invasion has affected all spheres of the capital’s life: logistics was destroyed, sales markets lost, the purchasing power of the population decreased, and 44% of Kyiv residents left the city due to russian aggression. However, the situation improved significantly in late 2022.
The Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation reported that green areas will be set up on the site of former fortifications in Kyiv. The first one appeared in Podil district – more than 600 plants were planted there at the expense of patrons. For this purpose, a memorandum of partnership was signed with Octava Capital. The Post-War Greening project aims to record cases of green areas destroyed by the war and provide Ukrainians with plants to restore them.
The Spilno Children’s Zone has been operating at Kyiv Central Railway Station for two months. More than 32 thousand guests have visited the location since then. Every day, games with children and workshops are held there, as well as exercises, anti-stress games, and educational events. Lawyers, social workers, psychologists and doctors also work at the location from time to time, and they are available for free consultation or assistance.
Zhytomyr oblast
According to the SES of the oblast, on August 3, another evacuation train with IDPs from Donbas arrived in Berdychiv. This time 23 people arrived in Zhytomyr oblast, including five children and three people with disabilities.
The city council reported public discussions on renaming streets associated with the soviet period or russian figures have started in Olevsk community. 70 streets and 13 alleys in 27 settlements of the community are to be renamed.
Sumy oblast
Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that on August 4, there were 100 explosions in Sumy oblast. 13 settlements in 9 territorial communities were shelled: Khotin, Bilopillia, Yunakivka, Miropillia, Druzhbivka, Esman, Seredyno-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske, and Nova Sloboda. Private houses, cars, a tractor, an agricultural company, and power grids were damaged. Two civilians were wounded in Yunakivka community.
According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, there were 22 explosions at night. 3 settlements in 3 territorial communities were shelled: Khotin, Seredyno-Buda, and Shalyhine. The enemy opened fire with artillery, mortars, and grenade launchers.
The State Emergency Service of Sumy reported that during on August 4, its EOD units were deployed 147 times. 466 explosive items were discovered, removed and disposed of. An area of 41.19 hectares was surveyed.
A resident of Manukhivka village, Nova Sloboda community was killed in Sumy oblast during shelling. The deceased was 61 years old. At the time of the shelling, the man was in his yard.
Chernihiv oblast
The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that in the morning, russian troops shelled two villages in the border areas of the oblast. Novhorod-Siverskyi community came under enemy fire: there were two attacks from barrel artillery and 9 mortar bombs were recorded. On August 4, Semenivka and Snovsk communities came under a massive enemy attack. The enemy opened mortar and artillery fire. In total, there were 79 strikes.
A significant charity football match called Game4Ukraine featuring the teams of Andriy Shevchenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko, arranged by the fundraising platform UNITED24 in cooperation with Chelsea FC and Legends, has been announced for August 5. The main goal of the match is to raise funds for the reconstruction of the Mykhailo-Kotsiubynskyi Lyceum in Chernihiv oblast, which was shelled by russian troops on March 4, 2022.
Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that in three days, about 100 residents of Chernihiv oblast applied for compensation for destroyed housing. These are mostly residents of Chernihiv and Ivanivka community. Citizens who are currently applying for compensation under the eRestoration program receive housing certificates.
An international construction camp from Repair Together has started in Chernihiv oblast. The project will last for three months, during which it is planned to build at least nine houses on the site of the houses destroyed by the occupiers in Ivanivka community. Volunteers will work under the supervision of professional builders. USAID will fund the construction of the camp and organization of a cultural program for volunteers, while the materials for the construction will be provided by the Help Ukraine charity fund and the Polish Humanitarian Action.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the regional council, russians fired a dozen shells from heavy artillery at Nikopol and Marhanets community.
Serhii Lysak, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration reported that during the day, russian troops fired four times at the area. Nikopol was attacked with more than a dozen shells. A garage caught fire, a service station and a school in the town were damaged. Seven private houses, two outbuildings, gas pipelines and several power lines were damaged.
Vinnytsia oblast
Michel Mertin, a German journalist from Luxembourg, visited Vinnytsia during a charity bike ride. He became the promoter of the charity bike tour. He also raises money to support Ukrainian volunteers and the Armed Forces. Specifically, he helps to develop a project in Kharkiv aimed at packing dry rations. Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that russian troops shelled 24 settlements on August 4. There were 26 reports of destruction of houses, apartments and infrastructure as a result of hostile strikes in Zaporizhzhia, Vasylivka and Polohy regions.

According to the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, about 100 russian servicemen are deployed on the territory of a school in the temporarily occupied Mykhailivka.
Enerhoatom reported that as of 5 August, a slight decrease in the water level was recorded in the ZNPP cooling pond. It is currently 16.26 metres.
Mykolaiv oblast
Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that on 4 August, at 11:35 am and 6:09 pm, there were mortar attacks on the water area of Ochakiv community. On the morning of 5 August, russian troops shelled Ochakiv with multiple rocket launchers. The shelling damaged residential buildings. There were no casualties or injuries.
Jaco Cilliers, UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine, Nils Christensen, UNDP Recovery and Peacebuilding Coordinator, and Roman Khashchenkov, UNDP Community Security and Social Cohesion Coordinator, visited Mykolaiv. The parties discussed issues related to the restoration of Mykolaiv, transparent governance, ensuring employment and promoting further development of the administrative service system. Among other things, UNDP representatives expressed their readiness to provide expert support in developing a strategy for the recovery and development of Mykolaiv.
The ‘South’ Operational Command informed that Mykolaiv air defense forces destroyed a russian Merlin reconnaissance drone.
Odesa oblast
Nataliia Humeniuk, Spokeswoman of the ‘South’ Operational Command, reported that there are 13 enemy ships on duty in Black Sea. Specifically, one submarine missile carrier armed with 4 Kalibr missiles remains on alert. The missile threat remains, the enemy keeps forces and resources on alert. The enemy also continues to terrorize Ukrainians with aircraft activity.
Oleh Kiper, Head of Odesa Regional Military Administration, said that a rehabilitation centre for the military is being expanded in Odesa. According to him, repairs are ongoing at the newly created rehabilitation centre for injured soldiers and work is in progress to open a second rehabilitation centre.
Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that during the war, the American Foundation, Mr Capponi’s Global Empowerment Mission, has helped Odesa oblast many times. Over the past few weeks alone, the foundation has funded the installation of more than 400 windows that were damaged as a result of russian terrorist attacks in Odesa. In total, Mr Capponi has financed more than 3K windows for private apartments in Odesa. They are to be installed by the end of the month. The Regional Military Administration noted that requests for the region’s urgent needs, like providing alternative energy sources, were also sent to the philanthropist.
Based on the information provided by Roman Hryhoryshyn, Deputy Head of Odesa Regional Military Administration, the largest ports in Europe are ready to finance the damage caused by russian attacks on Ukraine’s port infrastructure.
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the All-Ukrainian exhibition, Fight Against russian Aggression, which opened in the Church and Archaeological Museum of Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, is dedicated to the aftermath of russia’s war against Ukraine and the assistance of Ukrainian Orthodox Church to military personnel, internally displaced people and other categories of residents affected by the war. This unique exhibition has attracted the attention of guests and visitors by revealing an important aspect of the Church’s activities during the war.
Kherson oblast
According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, yesterday russian forces attacked 52 times, firing 271 shells from mortars, artillery, tanks, UAVs and aircraft. The enemy shelled Kherson 13 times. As a result, russian troops hit residential areas of the region’s settlements. Four people were injured.
Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, Head of the press office of Kherson RMA, reported that at night, russian troops shelled Korabelnyi district. They hit buildings, and two women were injured. They also dropped bombs near Antonivskyi bridge.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, informed that since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 11 medics have been killed and 23 injured in Kherson oblast.
Referring to Kherson Regional Military Administration, in a field between Velyka Oleksandrivka and Borozenske, a 36-year-old tractor driver stepped on a russian mine. The man was injured as a result of the detonation.
Vysokopillia community received a large batch of building materials. Thanks to the support of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, residents will receive the necessary materials to repair their damaged homes. A total of 1,600 OSB sheets, 6K boards, 850 bars, 500 kilograms of nails and 1,125 roof ridge tiles were delivered.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The RMA held a meeting with Olha Altunina, Representative of the Commissioner for the Rights of Citizens Victims of Armed Aggression against Ukraine, Evhenia Mnyshenko, Representative of the Commissioner in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, heads of structural units of the RMA and heads of communities. They discussed ensuring rights of IDPs to proper living conditions.
The RMA reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, honored soldiers of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade Edelweis and presented them with state awards.
Ruslan Martsinkiv, Head of Ivano-Frankivsk, visited the 78th battalion of the 102nd Territorial Defense Brigade and presented the fighters with For Honor and Victory medals and watches. In addition, 10 fighters received certificates for free education at King Danylo University.
Lviv oblast
Defender Ruslan Hubilit from Slavskyi received the Golden Cross award from Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Golden Cross is awarded to private and non-commissioned officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for conscientious and successful performance of combat missions. In particular, such an award is given to defenders who took command of the unit’s actions in the absence of an officer.
Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, visited Lviv paratroopers who are currently in Bakhmut region. He awarded some fighters of the 80th separate amphibious assault brigade for their desperation and steadfastness in the fight against the occupier.
Andrii Zakaliuk, Head of Lviv Education Department, reported that during this school year, schools, kindergartens and extra-curricular activities of the oblast collected UAH 25 mln for the needs of Ukrainian defenders. This funds was used to buy cars, drones, equipment, medical supplies and other important things for heroes.
Rivne oblast
Employees of the Rivne NPP deduct 3% of their monthly salaries to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This time, the military in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts will receive a car, quadcopters, thermal imagers, collimator sights and laser pointers.
85 children from the oblast went on vacation to Poland thanks to the partnership with the Pomeranian and Warmian-Masurian Voivodeships.
Ternopil oblast
Serhii Nadal, Mayor of Ternopil, announced that the title Honorary Citizen of the City of Ternopil was awarded posthumously to 15 servicemen.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
The soldiers of one of the military units of Khmelnytskyi oblast received components for weapons of the new generation, namely, fpv drones and a set of equipment for controlling them, thanks to the Protection of Khmelnytskyi CF, the Prestige Auto company, and other benefactors.
In Khmelnytskyi, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine awarded the winners from younger, middle and older age groups participating the All-Ukrainian children’s and youth military-patriotic game Sokil (Dzhura) for support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its approach to victory.
Chernivtsi oblast
Andrii Kyrychyk, combat medic from Bukovyna, received the Wolverine Beret from the commander of the 68th separate Hunter Brigade. The award was presented at the front line among comrades.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
On August 5, in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), two-day negotiations on the Ukrainian Peace Formula began. During the talks, Ukraine and its allies hope to agree on key principles for ending russia’s war against Ukraine.
