It has been the 553rd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation launched another missile and aerial strike on the territory of Ukraine, using air-launched missiles and Iranian combat drones Shahed-136/131. As a result of successful combat actions by the Air Force’s  in collaboration with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 28 cruise missiles and 15 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs were successfully shot down. 

The russian army carried out 30 missile strikes and 52 aerial attacks, along with 35 rocket artillery shelling targeting Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements. Due to the russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damages.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and aerial strikes. There were 35 combat engagements.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army conducted aerial strikes in the regions of Wolfyne in Sumy oblast and Potykhonove in Kharkiv oblast. They also carried out mortar and artillery shelling on over 20 populated areas, including Karpovychi, Semenivka in Chernihiv oblast, Mefodivka, Seredyna-Buda, Vorozhba, Kostiantynivka, and Volodymyrivka in Sumy oblast, as well as Hraniv, Pletenivka, Balka, Odradne, and Lyman Druhyy in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army conducted an aerial strike in the area of Kyslivka, Kharkiv oblast.  Russian artillery and mortar shelling targeted the populated areas of Masiutivka, Synkivka, Kucherivka, Kyslivka, and Berestove in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Lyman, russian unsuccessful offensive actions occurred in the regions of Novoyehorivka and Bilohorivka. They carried out aerial strikes in the regions of Nadiia, Tverdokhlibove, Novoyehorivka, and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast, as well as Serebrianka and Spirne in Donetsk oblast. Russian artillery and mortar shelling targeted the populated areas of Kremenna in Luhansk oblast and Kuzmine, Torske, and Lyman in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, russian unsuccessful offensive actions were launched in the area of Kurdiumivka, Donetsk oblast. Russian troops conducted aerial strikes in the regions of Klyschiivka and Andriivka, Donetsk oblast. Over 20 populated areas, including Lypivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Toretsk, and Zalizne in Donetsk oblast, suffered from russian artillery shelling.

Towards Avdiivka, the russian army carried out artillery and mortar shelling on populated areas such as Oleksandropil, Stepove, Tonenke, Severne, and Karlivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to deter the russian troops’ advance in the Marinka area, Donetsk oblast. Populated areas like Zhelanne Pershe, Hostre, Antonivka, Yelyzavetivka, and Vodyane in Donetsk oblast were shelled with artillery.

Towards Shakhtarsk, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled attacks by russian troops in the area of Staromykhailivka, Donetsk oblast. The russian army conducted aerial strikes in the regions of Vuhledar and Zolota Nyva, Donetsk oblast. The following populated areas in Donetsk oblast were affected by russian artillery shelling: Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Neskuchne, Rivnopil, and Zelene Pole.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, russian unsuccessful offensive actions were launched in the area of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Russian troops conducted aerial strikes in the regions of Novodarivka, Verbove, Mala Tokmachka, and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast. More than 20 populated areas, including Novodarivka, Poltavka, Huliaipole, Luhivske, Novoandrivka, and Piatykhatky in Zaporizhzhia oblast, suffered from russian artillery shelling.

Towards Kherson, more than 20 populated areas, including Osokorivka, Kachkarivka, Kozatske, Olhivka, Kherson, and Sofiivka in Kherson oblast, were affected by russian artillery shelling.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operation in Melitopol, consolidating their positions at achieved frontlines and conducting counter-battery measures.

The aviation of the Ukrainian army executed 10 strikes on personnel concentration areas and 4 strikes on russian anti-aircraft missile complexes.

The missile troops and artillery units have successfully targeted one personnel concentration area, as well as weapons and military equipment, one command post, and one electronic warfare station of the russian army.


The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi reported that the Air Force destroyed all 28 cruise missiles and 15 out of 16 attack UAVs that russia launched.  28 air-launched missiles of the Kh-101/Kh-555, Kh-55 type and 16 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs were launched.

The head of the State Special Service Yuriy Schyhol said that on average, 40-45 reconnaissance drones are lost at the front a day. He also noted that over 22,000 strike drones have been contracted to date, and approximately 15,000 have already been handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, said that russian troops are trying to break through Ukrainian defences in two directions and are also bringing in new units to increase the combat capability of their troops.

Illia Yevlash, Head of the Press Service of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informed that the enemy has concentrated more than 110K troops, including rear and support units and almost 1K tanks, 1,500 armoured combat vehicles, 650 artillery systems and almost 400 multiple rocket launchers towards Lyman and Kupiansk. The invaders are trying to find weaknesses in our defence but thanks to the courage of Ukrainian defenders, the enemy is not able to do so.

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that russian forces are also moving soldiers who were mobilised only a month ago towards Kupiansk to restore their strength after the losses inflicted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yestareday settlements of Bohodukhiv, Izium, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions were under russian shelling.

Yesterday morning a shelling damaged the buildings of a meat processing plant in Kupiansk. A 45-year-old security guard was killed. An apartment building and a private building were also damaged. A 67-year-old man sustained shrapnel wounds.

An administrative building was damaged as a result of a drone strike on Huriv Kozachok village, Bohodukhiv region. As a result of mortar shelling of the village, hangars and outbuildings of a farm were damaged at 4 pm.

In Cherneschyna village, Izium region, two guided bombs damaged a cowshed, a barn, a car garage and an MTZ 80 tractor of an agricultural enterprise.

A 55-year-old man was injured as a result of hostile shelling in Druzheliubivka village, Izium region. He was hospitalised in a critical condition.

Mine clearance is ongoing. Yesterday, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined 6 hectares of territory and defused 66 explosive ordnance.

Tetiana Kalyta, Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, informed that a Veteran Development Centre was opened in Kharkiv, where participants of russian-Ukrainian war, servicemen and families of fallen soldiers will be able to study and receive psychological, social and law assistance.

The press service of the National Guard reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyi awarded the Golden Star Order to the families of NGU Lieutenant Vitalii Koval and National Guard Junior Sergeant Yevhen Bilash, who defended Kharkiv oblast and were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.

A memorial plaque to paratrooper Mykyta Sytnyk, call sign Nik, was unveiled in Kharkiv. He took part in the ATO and the Joint Forces Operation and died of injuries sustained as a result of a russian airstrike in April 2022.

In Kharkiv, the Eternal Memory stamp dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine was franked by Tetiana Kalyta, Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalisation.

Kharkiv military received an ambulance, a minibus and two off-road vehicles.  The vehicles were donated by the Forpost UA Charity Foundation, which cooperates with the International Humanitarian Centre. In addition, the International Centre, together with volunteers and donors, loaded the vehicles with humanitarian aid: water, food and hygiene products.

The Sky of Ukraine Charitable Foundation donated food packages for internally displaced people.

743 people, 170 of them children, have been evacuated from the dangerous communities of Kupiansk region. People are being evacuated under an organised procedure with the active help of volunteer organisations. All evacuees are provided with humanitarian aid. People are provided with temporary free accommodation. At the same time, about 11K people remain in Kupiansk and the surrounding communities, which are constantly under enemy attacks.  The local RMA reports that the curfew time in Kupiansk community will change from 1 September: it will last from 6 pm to 6 am.

Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv Mayor, announced during a meeting with educators that Kharkiv is planning to build a bomb shelter for 400 people, the cost of which will be UAH 56 million.

Olha Demenko, Director of the City Department of Education, said that there will be 60 classes, 23 of which will be first grades and the rest will be grades 2-8,  at five metro stations in Kharkiv. Classes will have up to 20 students and more than a thousand school students will be taught in the subway. According to Demenko, high school students did not want to study in the subway and preferred online learning. During the school week in Kharkiv, there will be two or three days of offline learning and two or three days of online learning. Teachers, tutors, psychologists and doctors will work with children at the stations. School students will be provided with meals and transportation to the metro. Serhii Chaban, Acting Head of Kharkiv State Emergency Service, confirmed that security measures will be enhanced at the metro stations during the classes.

New educational formats are being developed in the region with the help of UNICEF and other partners. The programme to recover from educational losses includes additional classes in mathematics, Ukrainian and English for students in grades 1-4. Regular trainings on digital skills and inclusive education are held for teachers. 10 Digital Education Centres were established in different communities.

Despite the hostilities and enemy shelling, this year Kharkiv oblast ranks third in Ukraine in terms of the number of first-year students. In total, 1,603 educational institutions in the region are completing preparations for the new academic year, where more than 345K students will study. More than 220K students will receive secondary school education.  At present, 19 schools in Kharkiv are preparing to teach in a mixed format. The rest will work remotely. In addition, 5 higher education institutions and 12 vocational education institutions will use the combined format.

Kharkiv Regional Environmental Inspectorate reported that the environmental damage caused by russian attacks on educational institutions in the region has reached more than UAH 23 billion. According to Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, 655 of the 1603 educational institutions were damaged and 73 destroyed by shelling.

Dmytro Lypovyi, Head of the Construction and Road Facilities Department of the City Council, stated that. about 43% of roads in Kharkiv are damaged as a result of hostilities, shelling and the movement of heavy equipment through the city. Some of them have already been repaired.

Donetsk oblast

Illia Yevlash, Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Ukrainian troops destroyed four tanks and about 20 pieces of other equipment towards Bakhmut yesterday.

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, reported that russian troops shelled Chasiv Yar and Zavitne, killing a man and injuring three others.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administrartion, yesterday russians killed one civilian in Bahatyr and injured 8 more in the region.

The day before, russians launched a missile attack on Rivne of Myrnohrad community, damaging 12 buildings and destroying a hangar.

Towards Volnovakha, 1 person was killed in Bahytyr of Velyka Novosilka community. In Vuhledar community, 3 buildings were damaged in Novoukrainka. Vuhledar, Prechystivka and Maksymivka were under attack.

Towards Donetsk, 7 people were injured and 19 buildings damaged in Kurakhove.

Towards Horlivka, an office building was damaged in Poltavka of Illinivsk community. In Toretsk community, 4 buildings and 2 infrastructure facilities were damaged.

Towards Lysychansk, a building was damaged in Siversk and there were 58 shelling of Lyman community.

Each of the 28 settlements of Kurakhove community was shelled. Roman Padun, Head of Kurakhove City Military Administration, said that there are weeks when russian troops attack every day.

In the temporarily occupied Mariupol, less than five per cent of people have received a russian passport so the invaders are forcing residents to change their citizenship by limiting the provision of medical services.

Safety classes are being developed to teach children how to properly handle explosive devices, fire safety, road traffic and first aid. The classes are planned to be opened in school shelters. According to Tetiana Sidasheva, Director of the Education and Science Department of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, classes are being developed for children of different ages.

Volunteers from Mykolaiv have donated an ambulance to Donetsk to evacuate the injured from frontline hospitals to hospitals in rear cities. The vehicle can accommodate five injured people at a time.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, for about a week, russians have been constantly attacking only Novoiehorivka but yesterday they tried another direction, they also targeted Bilohorivka. However, in both directions they achieved nothing but losses and withdrew. They also had strong air support, conducting air strikes on Nadiia, Tverdokhlibove, Novoiehorivka and Bilohorivka. The latter two settlements were also under artillery shelling.

There were 22 explosions of various types in Nevske. A residential building was hit. A man of pre-retirement age was also injured. He received the necessary assistance on the spot. Despite the constant danger, humanitarian aid continues to be delivered to the settlement on a regular basis. For instance, yesterday the residents of Nevske received 280 loaves of bread from Krasnorichenske Village Military Administration.

In Svatove, the invaders regularly conduct raids, looking for empty houses. From time to time, the local population leaves the settlement. Also russian soldiers and collaborators immediately move into the well-equipped houses. If the owner shows up, the house will be returned to him three years after the people move in. If there is no owner even after this period, it will be nationalised.

There is growing dissatisfaction among transport operators. Starting from 1 September, passenger taxis in the so-called “LPR” will be able to operate only with special permits. This was quickly decided by the occupation “Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport”. There are only two days before the deadline, which led to huge queues and conflicts. The first condition for obtaining a permit is to have russian licence plates and, of course, the relevant documents. Other conditions will be announced unofficially and individually to each person by the local occupation authorities.

Despite the fact that Kreminna Art School lost its building, equipment and supplies due to the hostilities and the occupation of the city, it continues to work remotely. The school has been operating since 1980 and did not stop teaching children after russia’s full-scale invasion.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the russian army attacked Kyiv with rockets at night. As a result, two men, 26 and 36 years old – the guards of the enterprise, which were hit by debris, were killed. Three people were injured, including a 24-year-old girl. Falling debris was recorded in several districts of the capital, which led to fires in the administrative building, commercial premises, and fires in open areas.

Head of Kyiv RMA Ruslan Kravchenko announced that the air alert in the Kyiv oblast due to the attack by drones and missiles lasted for almost 4 hours. Debris fell in nine settlements. As of 9:00 a.m. damage to 17 private houses was recorded. Three victims are known. One woman with body burns was hospitalized, the others received the necessary medical assistance on the spot.

In Kyiv oblast, law enforcement officers recorded falling debris near the premises of the administrative building, damage to a cemetery, a boarding school, three garages and two cars. The prosecutor’s office started a pre-trial investigation into violations of the laws and customs of war.

Public access to shelters in the capital’s educational institutions should be available 24 hours a day. Such a decision was adopted by the Kyiv Defense Council. The heads of district administrations of the capital and the heads of educational institutions of Kyiv must ensure the unimpeded acssess of citizens to shelters during an air raid.

From September 1, public catering establishments in Kyiv will extend their working hours by one hour – until 11:00 p.m. Representatives of the National Restaurant Association of Ukraine during a meeting with the city authorities substantiated the feasibility of such a decision, stressing that extending the hours of operation of establishments will contribute to the improvement of the economic situation in the capital, the creation of additional jobs, and an increase in revenues from taxes, fees and payments to the budgets of all levels.

The Metropolitan Forestry Office reported that experts of a humanitarian organization from the Netherlands, who have considerable experience in demining territories after military conflicts, offered assistance to the foresters of Kyiv oblast. Foreign specialists are ready to share their experience in decontamination and disposal of unexploded ordnance. During the hostilities, almost 80,000 hectares of forest were contaminated with explosives in the Kyiv oblast. Explosive technicians have already checked and demined almost 20K hectares of the Metropolitan Forestry Office.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr RMA reported that the enemy attacked one of the infrastructure facilities of the oblast with kamikaze drones. Thanks to the effective work of air defense units, part of the air targets were shot down. The wreckage of the downed drone damaged the infrastructure object and the railway track.

Ukrzaliznytsia has resumed traffic on the railway section in Zhytomyr oblast, which was damaged due to russian shelling. The company informed about the delay of three trains in connection with the liquidation of the consequences of nighttime enemy shelling.

Builders from Zhytomyr oblast are rebuilding the village of Trifonivka in the Kherson oblast as part of the “Side by Side” project. For two months, ten oblast brigades have been working in the settlement. Houses that were damaged by the actions of the russian army on Vilna, Myru, Stepova, Podstantsiyna and Zelena streets have already been rebuilt. Necessary construction materials are supplied to the village for roof restoration works.

Sumy oblast

The regional prosecutor’s office reported that a woman was killed due to shelling of Sumy oblast from russian territory. Artillery shelling took place around one o’clock in the morning. One of the projectiles hit the private house of a resident of the village of Svarkove, Shalyhine community, Shostka region. The 82-year-old housewife was killed.

In total, russians carried out 15 shelling of the border territories and settlements of the Sumy oblast, 110 hits from mortars, self-propelled guns and AGS were recorded. Svesa, Nova Sloboda, Khotyn, Velika Pysarivka, Druzhbivka, Znob-Novhorodske, Seredina-Buda, Bilopillia communities were under enemy shelling. As a result of enemy shelling, a private house in Seredina-Buda hromada and a tractor in Nova Sloboda were damaged.

Sumy RMA reported that the russian military carried out 5 shelling of the border, 45 explosions were recorded. The communities of Krasnopillia and Khotyn were shelled, as well as Shalyhine, where four private houses were damaged due to artillery shelling.

Volunteers renovated a youth center in Svesa, which is 13 km from the russian border. The building materials were provided by the project organizers, and the volunteers repaired the space of the youth center “Start” of the Svesa Center of Culture and Leisure with their own efforts. Thirty young people from seven regions of Ukraine participated in the restoration.

Chernihiv oblast

During the past day, the russians fired 10 times from their territory on the border of Chernihiv Oblast. As reported in the SBGS, a total of 121 hits from barrel artillery, mortars, AGS and rockets launched from an enemy helicopter were recorded. The Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Horodnyanka communities came under shelling.

Territorial Department of the Judicial Protection Service of the oblast reported that the Chernihiv Court of Appeal and the Economic Court of the Chernihiv Region, which were destroyed by the russian missile attack on the city on August 19, have resumed work. As a result of the russian missile attack on the center of Chernihiv, 4 institutions of the justice system were damaged, including two courts. One employee of the Court Security Service, who was on duty at the time, was injured.

Chernihiv border detachment reported that border guards of the 9th detachment named after the Sich Riflemen received three drones from the community of the city of Zhytomyr.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the regional council, the there were two attacks during the night. Nikopol and Marhanets community were shelled with artillery. 

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Representatives of the de-occupied Balakliia community arrived in Vinnytsia. The purpose of the visit is the exchange of experience in community development and its implementation on their territory.

Kirovohrad oblast

Defence Forces of Southern Ukraine reported that 2 Shahed-136 drones were downed over Kirovohrad oblast. 

Poltava oblast

According to Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, a powerful all-terrain vehicle was delivered from Poltava oblast to the Marines at the frontline. The vehicle has increased cross-country ability and is equipped with a three-litre turbocharged engine. It can accommodate eight people. The vehicle was previously used by the French Legion. 

According to Dmytro Lunin, head of Poltava Regional Military Administration, the sixth rotation of Poltava architects and builders has returned from Kherson. 9 specialists worked in the city for about a week and inspected 41 more objects.  

Cherkasy oblast

As reported by Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, the  air defense forces shot down a russian missile over Cherkasy oblast at night.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

AFU achieved success toward sNovodanylivka-Novoprokopivka and Mala Tokmachka-Verbove in Polohy region. Currently, Ukrainian military personnel are consolidating their positions at the reached frontlines.

Yesterday, russian military personnel conducted 106 strikes on 26 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Eight air strikes were recorded on Orikhi, Robotyne, and Mala Tokmachka, while five MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) strikes were directed at Levadne, Malynivka, Temyrivka, Poltavka, and Novodarivka. Additionally, UAV attacks targeted Olhivske and Kamianske. There were 91 artillery shelling incidents on the territory of Temyrivka, Novodanylivka, Zatyshshshia, Bilohiria, Poltavka, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Stepove, Pyatykhatky, and other towns and villages along the front line. During enemy artillery shelling of Kamianske, a 38-year-old man, a 40-year-old man, and a 51-year-old woman sustained injuries. Reports of 22 residential buildings and infrastructure facilities being destroyed were received.

Five fires occurred in Polohy and Vasylivka regions due to russian shelling. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fires. EOD specialists removed three cassette elements and three remnants of projectiles from the “Grad” multiple launch rocket system, which were discovered in a settlement in Polohy region. The explosive items were safely disposed of by trained experts in accordance with safety regulations.

Families with children residing in five settlements within the Vasylivka and Polohy regions, namely in Huliaipole city, Stepnohirsk urban-type settlement, as well as Preobrazhenka, Yehorivka, and Novopavlivka, are undergoing forced evacuation. Plans are in place to evacuate 54 children and 67 accompanying family members. Authorities and volunteers have collaborated to create necessary living conditions for them. Overall, approximately 224K internally displaced persons are registered in Zaporizhzhia oblast, with over 270K IDPs leaving the region’s borders.

Mykolaiv oblast

Tonight, russian occupying forces attacked the territory of Ukraine using cruise missiles and strike UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) from the southern and northern directions. Three enemy strike UAVs “Shahed-136/131” were shot down in the skies over Mykolaiv Oblast.

In August Mykolaiv volunteers provided an ambulance to the defenders on Donetsk direction. The ambulance is for evacuation of wounded soldiers from frontline hospitals to medical facilities in rear cities. The route covers 300 kilometers, with a transportation time of 2.5 hours. The ambulance is designed to transport up to five wounded individuals.

Mykolaiv Development Agency conducted a joint working meeting with the Head of Special Projects in Ukraine from the Lithuanian Agency for Development of the Construction Industry, Tomas Gulbinas, and the Chief Architect of Mykolaiv, Ievhen Poliakov. Discussions revolved around Lithuanian partners’ intention to assist the city in creating a 3D digital tool for space planning in Mykolaiv, which will be useful during the reconstruction process. Additionally, the parties discussed the possibility of providing training for potential operators of the future system in Mykolaiv. It is envisaged that this project will be fully funded by the Lithuanian side and other international donors.

Odesa oblast

Tonight, the enemy attacked Odesa oblast. 8 cruise missiles of the types X-101/X-555/X-55 were destroyed over the sea by Air Defense Systems and Maritime Security. No hits or damages were reported. This information was provided by the “South” Operational Command.

On the Defender of Ukraine Day, well-known vocalist from Izmail, Olesia Kichuk, held a solo charity concert titled “The Place of My Strength – Homeland” at the Regional Aesthetic Education Center named after E. Ievdokymova. In addition to its charitable nature, the concert had a patriotic theme. The audience consisted exclusively of military personnel. While the concert was ongoing, volunteers from the “Izmail for the Armed Forces” NGO organized a charity fair, selling handmade products from local craftswomen. All funds raised during the event will go towards purchasing necessary equipment for frontline soldiers.

Kherson oblast

It is reported that russians have destroyed another educational institution in the village of Mykolaivka within the Tiahynka community. As a result of this shelling, no casualties were reported.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 77 shelling incidents, firing 452 projectiles from mortars, artillery, tanks, “Grad” launchers, UAVs, and aviation. The city of Kherson was targeted with 24 projectiles. The russian army continues shelling Beryslav and Kherson regins, exclusively aiming at residential areas, energy facilities, educational and medical institutions. Due to the russian aggression, 3 people were killed, and 3 others were wounded.

A 43-year-old resident of Novopetrivka was killed by an explosive device left by the russians. The man was working on a tractor, and the vehicle hit an explosive object, causing fatal injuries. Overall, yesterday the police documented 17 war crimes committed by the occupying forces against the civilian population.

The police are conducting informative and explanatory work among the local residents in the settlements of Beryslav and Kherson regions located along the coastal line and consistently subjected to shelling by the russians, regarding the necessity of evacuating to safer regions of the country. Juvenile police officers are primarily engaged in this effort with families with children.

The situation within the responsibility zone of the “South” Operational Command remains consistently tense. No signs of the enemy forming offensive groups have been detected. Maneuvers by forces and means continue. The defenders continue to successfully carry out their fire tasks. Yesterday, 62 occupiers were eliminated, also 1 T-90 tank, 11 units of armored vehicles, 5 cannons, 3 boats, and 4 UAVs of various types, as well as 3 observation posts and 1 UAV control point were destroyed.

Russian occupiers continue their forced passportization of the population in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast. The occupiers are persecuting local residents  in Mykhailivka, Skadovsk region, who refuse to obtain russian passports. Due to the refusal to obtain russian passports, the invaders persecute local Ukrainian residents, conduct raids on their residences, carry out humiliating checks, and threaten with imprisonment and deportation.

It is planned to increase the number of individuals involved in demining processes in the Kherson oblast up to 10K next year. It was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. Currently, 3K people are engaged in demining activities. As of August 29, explosive objects have been examined on over 78,813 hectares, of which 66,709 hectares are agricultural lands. Almost 605K hectares remain mined in Kherson oblast.

53 families in Bilozerka community received construction materials. Objects of social infrastructure in the communities’ settlements have been destroyed, and power grids have been damaged. Nearly 1,000 sheets of roofing material were sent to residents of Tyahynka community.

Museum experts identified another painting stolen by the russian armed forces from the Kherson Art Museum. This artwork is a piece by the contemporary Latvian artist and educator Kārlis Dobrājs titled “Allegory.” The painting was recognized from a video at the Central Museum of Taurida.

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council reported that UAH 200K will be paid from the city budget to the families of those killed as a result of the rocket fire in Lutsk.

390 students of grades 1-4 from among IDPs received backpacks with all necessary school supplies from UNICEF in Ukraine. In total, over 750 IDPs children study in Lutsk community schools.

A meeting of the Volyn Regional Commission on Technological and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations was held in Lutsk. They discussed the educational process in the conditions of war. 964 educational institutions were examined in the oblast, of which 765 were recommended to start full-time education. Others must eliminate the shortcomings.

Zakarpattia oblast

In Uzhhorod, a requiem evening Heroes do not Die was held, dedicated to the Day of Memory of the defenders of Ukraine who were killed in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. During the event, a video was broadcast on the screen, in which over 550 soldiers who were killed from February 24, 2022 and were buried in Zakarpattia were remembered.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

From August 22 to 27, at the invitation of Bieszczady Voluntary Mountain Search and Rescue Group, Carpathian rescuers took part in joint training within the PIMReC project, which is being implemented within the framework of the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine cross-border cooperation program 2014-2020 thanks to the financial support of the European Union. The key topic of the exercises was the organization of search and rescue operations in mountainous terrain using various techniques related to the use of GPS navigation technology.

Lviv oblast

Brodów Central City Hospital received an ambulance equipped with a defibrillator with a cardiac monitor, a transport respirator, oxygen masks, protective suits, disinfectants from the Meditrans voivodeship ambulance station in Warsaw.

RMA reported that as part of the Side by Side project in the village of Nova Zoria, 2 brigades from Lviv oblast continue to restore houses. As of now, the repair of 9 objects has been completed. Repair work continues at other facilities. It is planned to finish all repair works by October.

A meeting with families of captured or missing servicemen and veterans was held in Yavoriv region. Such meetings are held in every region of the oblast. The organizers are the offices of the Coordination Center for the Support of the Civilian Population of Lviv oblast.

A requiem evening was held in the Garrison Church of Lviv in memory of defenders of Ukraine. Many church parishioners, military personnel, representatives of the government and the public took part in the memorial prayer.

A memorial plaque to Volodymyr Shinkarev, defender of Ukraine, was installed on the facade of Strii RMA. With the beginning of a full-scale war, he served as a senior operator of the anti-tank department of the anti-tank platoon of the fire support company. He was killed on October 5, 2022.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a briefing with Leonid Andrushchak, Head of the mobilization work sector of the apparatus. Identifying critically important enterprises in Rivne oblast was discussed.

A memorial service for those who were killed in the struggle for Ukraine’s independence was held in Rivne. Those present laid flowers at the graves of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, Heroes who were killed in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Operation of the United Forces and defenders of Ukraine who were killed during the full-scale invasion.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil City Council reported that the mobile dentistry from the city treats military personnel in Donetsk oblast.

13 servicemen were posthumously awarded with the title of Honorary Citizen of the City of Ternopil for a significant personal contribution to the formation of Ukrainian statehood.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

A new rehabilitation department for 60 patients was opened in Khmelnytskyi. These are comfortable, modern wards, 6 rehabilitation rooms with simulators, equipment and a functional kitchen. First of all, military personnel will undergo rehabilitation here. This year, over UAH 10 mln was spent on the rehabilitation department. These are funds from the treasury of the city, the hospital itself, as well as the Khmelnytskoblenerho PJSC and Austrian benefactors.

Chernivtsi oblast

Ruslan Zaparanyuk, head of the RMA, met with Dorel Fronea, strategic advisor on customs issues of the Advisory Mission of the European Union. The preparation of the Ukrainian-Romanian proposal for the construction of border crossing points was discussed.

Soldier Khoroshilov Vyacheslav from Bukovyna, received the Golden Cross badge from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The warrior defends his native land and successfully performs combat tasks as the commander of the rifle division of the 57th separate rifle battalion.

The US allocated a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $250 mln, including demining equipment, ammunition for air defense, artillery and HIMARS.

Kaisa Ollongren, Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, announced that Romania and the Netherlands signed a letter of intent to establish a base for F-16 pilot training and related fighter maintenance at the training center.

The Swiss government reported that the country joined the Register of Damages to Ukraine Caused by Russian Aggression created by the Council of Europe.

Switzerland will send a tracked vehicle, a trailer for its transportation and spare parts for three years of operation, to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine so that sappers can use it to carry out “humanitarian demining”.

Andrii Sybiha, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, held a meeting with James Bezan, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Security of the Canadian House of Commons, and Pat Kelly, a member of this committee.
