What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy launched 3 missile and 21 air strikes, and fired more than 35 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian settlements. 

There is still a high threat of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive operations towards Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka and over 40 enemy attacks were repelled over the last day. Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka remain at the epicenter of the fighting.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Sloboda, the operational situation remained unchanged, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected. The enemy fired on the settlements of Turia, Leonivka and Pecheniuhy in Chernihiv oblast, Seredyno-Buda, Stukalivka, Bezsalivka and Volfyne in Sumy oblast, as well as Udy, Chervona Zoria, Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Lyptsi, Neskuchne, Zybyne and Bochkove in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, Topoli, Dvorichna, Masiutivka, Kupiansk, Kucherivka in Kharkiv oblast and Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk oblast were shelled by the enemy.

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Nevske and Serebriany forestry. Makiivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Terny, Zarichne, Torske, Spirne and Rozdolivka in Donetsk oblast came under artillery fire.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy is trying to take full control of the city of Bakhmut and continues to storm it. There were unsuccessful offensives near Bohdanivka and Ivanivske. The Defense Forces repelled about 15 enemy attacks in this area of the front. Vasyukivka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Toretsk and Shumy in Donetsk oblast were affected by hostile shelling.

Towards Avdiivka and Maryinka, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Novokalynove, Avdiivka and Marinka. At the same time, the enemy fired at Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Pobieda in Donetsk oblast.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions towards Shakhtarsk. UAVs were actively used to adjust artillery fire. They shelled the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka and Velyka Novosilka.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy is fortifying defensive lines and positions. Numerous settlements were shelled. Among them are Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk oblast; Malynivka, Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, Novopavlivka and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia oblast, and Novooleksandrivka, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Stepanivka and Chornobaivka in Kherson oblast.

russian occupiers are enhancing counterintelligence and police regimes in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast. In Kakhovka region, since March 23 this year, the russian armed forces have been conducting raids to check personal phones of local residents for photos and videos, as well as ‘prohibited’ content. During such inspections, the occupiers search local residents’ homes. First of all, those who make phone calls to free Ukraine are subject to such raids.

Aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 12 strikes on buildups of occupiers’ manpower and equipment. 

At the same time, our defenders on the eastern front destroyed a russian Ka-52 helicopter. Rocket and artillery units hit 2 command posts, 2 ammunition depots, 2 air defense positions and 4 enemy electronic warfare stations.


The Center for National Resistance reports that occupiers abduct and torture workers of the ZNPP in Enerhodar. They also hold ‘preventive conversations’ in torture chambers. They cannot simply dismiss employees who disagree with the occupation due to a lack of labor. 

Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories says that residents of the temporarily occupied territories are advised to travel to third countries. She emphasizes that they should take care of themselves and their children.

The ‘South’ Operational Command of the  military command informs that the enemy has increased its naval grouping in the Black Sea to 15 units. Among them are 6 missile carriers, 2 of which are underwater, which may indicate an extremely high threat of a missile strike.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops are gathering in the border areas of the Belgorod region, but there are no signs of offensive groups. The enemy continued to shell Kupiansk and border settlements of Kharkiv oblast. At least 13 other settlements were under attack.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of the Zolochiv Village Military Administration reported that at about 3 pm, russian troops shelled Basove: there were 13 hits.

An employee of the State Emergency Service from Chernihiv oblast stepped on an explosive ordnance in Nova Husarivka, he is in hospital.

The Regional Rescue Department said that a 16-year-old teenager was blown up on an unknown explosive device in Kupiansk region. He was hospitalised, his condition is of moderate severity, there was no necessity of amputation.

Yesterday Kupiansk, Vovchansk, Veterynarne, Strilecha, Pishchane, Ohirtseve and other settlements were attacked.

The enemy conducted mortars and artillery attacks in settlements of Zolochiv community of Bohodukhiv region. Residential buildings, a garage and a private car were damaged in Odnorobivka village. A residential building was damaged as a result of shelling in Podoly village, Kupiansk region. There were no casualties.

Humanitarian de-mining is ongoing. Yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined almost 9 hectares of territory and defused 263 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

The russian Commissioner for Children’s Rights Lvova-Belova reported that russian special services prevented a 17-year-old boy, who was taken from Mariupol to Donetsk and then to russia to a foster family, from returning to Ukraine. He traveled to Belarus on his own, but was detained and returned to russia. Lubinets, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, said that the boy is a citizen of Ukraine and has a sister here. Lubinets emphasized that this is another public confession of war crimes.

Border guards eliminated 30 and injured 40 mercenaries of the Wagner PMC in Bakhmut. Six groups of russian soldiers tried to break through the industrial zone to the positions of Ukrainian defenders.

2 people were killed and 4 injured – these are the latest reports on the aftermath of the shelling of Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka. The city was shelled at around 11 am, russians hit the residential sector. According to preliminary information, with cluster munitions.

In occupied Mariupol, russians destroyed another mural along with the staircase on which it was painted.

Towards Donetsk, 5 buildings were damaged by Grad shelling in Selydove community.  Power lines were damaged in Ocheretyne community.

Towards Horlivka, Kostiantynivka was hit twice by Tornado – a hospital, a centre for registering homeless people, a private and an apartment building, a shop and a former coffee shop were damaged. 1 person was injured in Toretsk.

There were 5 injured and a damaged apartment building in Bakhmut.

Towards Lysychansk, a building in Mykolaivka was destroyed, several buildings on two streets in Siversk damaged and there was shelling of Torske of Lyman community.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of Donetsk RMA, reported that yesterday russians killed 4 civilians: 1 in Krasnohorivka and 3 in Lastochkyne. 11 more people were injured.

Luhansk oblast

South of Kreminna, russians tried to attack our positions yesterday but had no success. Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Dibrova and Bilohorivka were targeted yesterday.

Oleksii Smyrnov, Acting Head of the Regional Military Administration said that in ground combat, the enemy is acting more cautiously than on the frontlines of Donetsk oblast. They use artillery much more often. However, russian attacks end in their own losses and retreat. Over the year, all regular units of the russian army based in the region have largely lost personnel. They have been replenished with freshly mobilized personnel.

In addition, enemy equipment is regularly destroyed towards Kupiansk and Lyman. For example, over the past month alone, about ten modern russian Proryv T-90 tanks were burned down there.

Based on the information provided by the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, over the past month, about ten modern russian T-90 tanks were destroyed in our sector of the frontline. In Starobilsk and Svatove, the invaders are forming a housing foundation from empty houses. In Novopskov, men with russian passports were sent for a medical examination.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The sculpture “The Girl in the Sun” was opened in Borodianka in honour of the anniversary of Kyiv oblast liberation from the occupiers. A girl on a swing is a symbol of Ukrainian resistance and the will to live. It was inspired by a documentary photo that appeared on the Internet in the summer of 2022: a girl on a swing opposite a high-rise building destroyed by a russian bomb.

Charity race “Running for Victory” will be held in Boryspil. Participants will be able to run a distance of 400 or 1200 m. Volunteers and border guards will take part in the event. Also, different activities involving entertainers are planned during this event. Donations will be used to purchase 10 tablets for the military.

The Kyiv City State Administration reported that a photo exhibition “War through the Eyes of SES Pyrotechnics” has been opened at Zoloti Vorota metro station in Kyiv. The exhibition features artworks highlighting the experience of sappers in this war. The event is arranged by the SES of Ukraine together with the United Nations Development Programme. Experts estimate that 30% – more than 174,000 km² – of Ukraine is currently contaminated by explosive ordnance.

Oleksandr Markushyn, Mayor of Irpin, reported that a resident of Irpin created a painting from shell fragments and pieces of destroyed houses and presented it to the city. Iryna Nikolska’s steampunk artwork will be transferred to the city museum.

Zhytomyr oblast

Mural with QR-code for mine safety appeared in Narodychi community of Korosten region, Zhytomyr oblast. A thematic mural entitled “The Chronicle of Ukrainian Memory” can be seen on the building of the Narodychi Military Administration.

Employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Zhytomyr oblast received an ambulance as a gift. The fundraising was initiated by the family of fallen rescuer Dmytro.

Serhii Sukhomlyn, Mayor of Zhytomyr, informs that Zhytomyr City Council hands over 11 drones to local paratroopers. Soldiers of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade and artillery division from Zhytomyr received 5 Matrixes and 6 Ukrainian Valkyries.

According to the information published on the Facebook page of the Artillery Brigade named after Corporal-General Roman Dashkevych, a book about fallen soldiers of the 26th Brigade and the Cherkasy Battalion was published in Zhytomyr oblast. The book “Defenders who stepped beyond life” is about Ukrainian soldiers who died for Ukraine in 2014-2015.

Sumy oblast

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, on 4 April, the enemy shelled three border communities in Sumy oblast – Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, and Seredyno-Buda. Two VOG munitions were dropped from a UAV in Krasnopillia region: a civilian was wounded and a commercial establishment was damaged. Seredyno-Buda region was shelled with 15 mortar bombs – two houses and a power line were damaged. 49 mortar shells were fired on Bilopillia region and 58 rounds were fired from an automatic grenade launcher.

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that the enemy continues to attack communities in Sumy oblast. By lunchtime, there were 3 shells, possibly fired from barrel artillery, on the territory of Zarutske village in Shostka region.

Five more Safety classrooms  were opened for students of Sumy oblast. State Emergency Service employees and police officers conducted an interactive training session for children on how to behave in dangerous situations and maintain the correct sequence of actions during an air raid or fire.

According to Viktor Lekhman, Head of the community, the Red Cross mobile team has examined 3,026 patients in Krolevets community. The team started working in August 2012 and has since made 168 visits to the settlements of Krolevets region.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the ‘North’ Operational Command, on the evening of 4 April, the russian army conducted an air strike on a village in Chernihiv oblast. russian Su-35 fighter jets dropped two bombs on the territory of Pecheniuhy village in Novhorod-Siversk region. A private house and outbuildings caught fire as a result of the explosions.

The russian forces continue shelling Chernihiv oblast. Between 11:40 and 13:55, 22 mortar bombs were launched on Leonivka village of Semenivka community.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that criminal cases were opened in Chernihiv oblast against 15 russian servicemen who forcibly held residents of Yahidne village in the basement. The defendants are suspected of cruel treatment of civilians. In early March last year, russian servicemen held 368 people for 25 days in the basement of the occupied village of Yahidne, Chernihiv oblast, 69 of them were minors.

According to the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Kyselivka community in Chernihiv oblast has received two forklifts from Germany as a gift. The equipment will be used to repair the damage caused by the russian army.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Oleksandr Saiuk, Mayor of Nikopol, reported that russian troops shelled Nikopol. 14 private residential buildings, 15 commercial structures, and 2 passenger cars were damaged. A shop building was destroyed. 

Aid Ship handed over five modern European ambulances to the Dnipro military.

Vinnytsia oblast

The​​ Vinnytsia RMA reported that a psychological session was held for wives and mothers of Ukrainian defenders. The psychologists provided useful information and taught skills for working with stress and anxiety. 

The Vinnytsia City Council reported Vinnytsia received humanitarian aid from ACTED: beds, mattresses, first-aid kits, and fire extinguishers. This is the second batch of aid from a non-governmental organization, which was provided as part of disaster risk reduction activities.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, the KOMA youth center started operating on the basis of the center of children’s and youth creativity. The center was opened with the support of the UNICEF Children’s Fund within the program implemented by the non-governmental organization Zadzerkallia Slavic Cultural Center.

Poltava oblast

According to Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, Poltava oblast received more than a thousand School in a Box sets. Each contains notebooks, markers, brushes, chalk, rulers, pens, and pencils. The set is designed for 40 students and a teacher. This assistance was provided by UNICEF and the Volunteer Movement. 

Approximately 11 tons of material for trench candles were handed over by a local entrepreneur to Poltava volunteers. These are paraffin candles, which, if necessary, will be remelted for products on the front.

Cherkasy oblast

According to Ihor Taburets, Head of the Cherkasy State Administration, 9 new cars were handed over to the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine. These are high-terrain vehicles for work in de-occupied territories.

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On April 04, the enemy attacked Zaporizhzhia oblast over 70 times, carrying out 7 UAV attacks, 4 missile strikes, and 61 artillery strikes on the frontline areas of Vasylivka and Polohy regions. Residential buildings, a shop, and a farm were damaged.

The occupiers shelled the civilian infrastructure of 19 settlements in the oblast: Huliaipole, Poltavka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Novodanylivka, Chervone, Zaliznychne, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novopavlivka, Olhivske, Iehorivka, Luhivske, Kamianske, Mali Shcherbaky, and Plavni.

russian military forces launched 125 strikes on the territory of Zaporizhia oblast in the past two days, on April 3rd and 4th. The cities and villages of Polohy region suffered destruction, and domestic animals were harmed.

Mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, reports that there were explosions in the temporarily occupied towns of Molochansk and Tokmak and Myrne in Zaporizhia oblast. .

According to the General Staff, russian occupiers continue to exert psychological pressure on the local population in Melitopol by distributing leaflets regarding evacuation to russia.

Mykolaiv oblast

The artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit russian positions along the entire coastal strip of the left bank of Dnipro – from the Dnipro-Buzkyi estuary to the islands in the delta of the Dnipro and Kakhovka reservoir. According to the Mykolaiv RMA, drone operators detect the enemy from the air and help the artillery to launch accurate attacks.

During the last month, Mykolaivoblenerho received 16 humanitarian shipments of equipment and materials weighing a total of 169.7 tons from international partners and Ukrainian volunteers. Among the donor countries that provided humanitarian aid to Mykolaiv energy workers are Lithuania, Germany, Sweden, France, and Azerbaijan. A significant portion of the energy humanitarian cargo was provided by the Ukrainian Charity Fund “Help for Ukraine”.

Ochakiv, previously popular as a budget vacation resort on the Black Sea, is now under constant shelling from the Kinburn Spit, which is still under the occupiers’ control. Some residents of Ochakiv have left due to the constant fire. Those who remained have adapted to periodically living in basements. More than 70% of buildings are damaged. Despite regular shelling, the residents of Ochakiv continue to live in their city and believe in victory.

Odesa oblast

According to the Ukrainian Navy report, the russians have 13 combat units with an operational connection in the Black Sea as of the morning of April 5. Among them are 6 missile carriers – 4 surface ships and 2 submarines with a total salvo of up to 40 Kalibr cruise missiles. This number of combat ships at sea has not been observed for several weeks, and it indicates that the russians are preparing for another massive or targeted missile strike that could be aimed at Odesa, other cities in Ukraine, or some other important targets. Just a few days before, there were only two combat ships in the sea – one surface ship and one submarine. According to the ‘South’ Operational Command, the threat of missile and air strikes has increased almost twofold.

Representatives of russia who are part of the UN commission are artificially delaying ships with Ukrainian grain within the ‘grain corridor’ agreement, causing queues and delays. Such delays cost Ukraine a lot of money per day, and this is intentionally done by representatives of the occupying country to destroy the delivery profitability. 

Odesa oblast received 5K school backpacks with all the necessary equipment from international donors. The items provided by UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), have been already handed over to regional and territorial communities.

Kherson oblast

The russian army has once again shelled civilian infrastructure in Kherson, firing at two utility enterprises. One of the walls of a building on the enterprise’s territory and the asphalt covering in the yard were damaged, and the explosive wave destroyed the windows. The administrative building of another enterprise was destroyed.

Occupiers shelled Beryslav with artillery. russian military attacked the central part of the city, damaging a store. One person was injured.

On April 4, russian occupiers shelled peaceful settlements in Kherson oblast 50 times. They fired 299 shells from mortars, multiple launch rocket systems, artillery, tanks, SPG, AGS, drones, and aviation. The communities of Beryslav and Kherson regions were under the enemy’s massive attack, and the russians targeted civilian objects, delivering a guided air bomb strike on the village of Odradokamianka and an enterprise in Kozatske. The enemy attacked the city of Beryslav with drones, dropping grenade launcher shots on residential areas. A school, at least 16 private houses, cars, and gas pipelines were damaged. Three people were injured to varying degrees. 28 criminal cases have been opened regarding war crimes committed by russian military.

The entry and exit of all local residents have been almost completely restricted in the village of Velyka Kardashivka, Kherson oblast, due to the movement of the occupiers’ heavy equipment around the outskirts of the settlement. People are prohibited from leaving their homes. Document and mobile phone checks have been intensified.

Power supply has been restored in the village of Charivne in Borozenska community. People were without electricity for over seven months due to the criminal actions of russian occupiers. According to the Kherson RMA, 39 brigades worked to restore power in Kherson oblast. Yesterday, energy workers performed emergency and restoration work on the lines that supply electricity to Charivne, Khrystenivka, Novopetryivka, Kalynivske, Petrivka, Dobryanka, Davydiv Brid, Trudoliubivka, Beryslav, Kherson, Muzykivka, Posad-Pokrovske, Oleksandrivka and Soniachne.

Rural educational institutions in Kherson oblast received modern equipment from volunteers with a total cost of more than 5 million hryvnias. 139 laptops along with computer bags, headphones, mice, extenders, as well as 12 tablets, 25 multifunctional devices, 18 projectors, 3 interactive whiteboards, 4 TVs, 14 infrared heaters and 14 EcoFlow portable charging stations were delivered to schools.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The city council of Lutsk reported that 20 Mavic 3 Fly More Combo quadcopters and 5 Mavic 3T Thermal quadcopters with a thermal imager were sent to units located directly in the combat zone.

The 53rd Battalion of the 100th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive four cars worth UAH 1 million, which were purchased with the funds of Lutsk City Council employees, which they give to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as a day’s earnings.

The city council of Lutsk reported that the 53rd Battalion of the 100th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive quadcopters, Starlinks, charging stations, thermal imagers, thermal imaging sights, tactical headphones, various weapons equipment, tactical gloves and glasses. Funds from the budget in the amount of almost UAH 5 million are used. Five more expensive quadcopters with a thermal imager were purchased by partners from abroad.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Tobias Tyberg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Ukraine. They discussed the security and socio-economic situation, the needs of Zakarpattia oblast and the Hungarian community, etc.

The Uzhgorod City Council held a meeting with heads of condominiums and managers of apartment buildings. The condition of shelters and fire safety were discussed.

2 months after his release from russian captivity, Ukrainian military officer Maksym Kolesnikov came back for service. In February, when the defender set foot on his native land for the first time in almost a year, his photo with an apple went viral all over the world.

The RMA reported that the 3rd degree “For Courage” Order was handed over posthumously to the wife and son of Vasyl Drohomyretskyi.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that in Prykarpattia, a military man was given the first prosthesis in the regional clinical hospital, and later the team of the Center for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine developed an individual program for Andrii to improve his condition after surgery and move on to intensive classes.

A mobile team of specialists, studying problems and needs of IDPs, visited Kalush region. The meeting with IDPs was held to hear about their needs, listen to proposals and find a solution together.

The Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast reports  that in Ivano-Frankivsk, the first Security Class was opened in a shelter. The rescuers gave various learning materials provided by the UNICEF Ukraine company to make the lessons class even more interesting

Lviv oblast

As of the end of March, 106K people who are officially registered as IDPs are living in Lviv. In total, over 150K IDPs still remain in Lviv.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported that in Lviv oblast, the land of medvedchuk’s wife for almost 17.5 million was seized .

One of the battalions of the 103rd separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received an armored personnel carrier from the communities of the Yavoriv region. The community collected UAH 2.9 million.

Drohobytsi rescuers received a all-wheel-drive minibus for demining from the Drohobych Regional Military Administration and representatives of the KOLO CF.

The fire department in Zhovkva received professional emergency and rescue equipment, namely, a cutter, a crimper, a telescopic jack, as well as chargers and batteries for them, worth UAH 785K thanks to the USAID “HOVERLA” project.

Educational institutions of the Sambir region received 100 sets of stationery “School in a Box” and 1K containers for students from UNICEF.

Choreographic groups of Lviv oblast sent three drones to soldiers defending Ukraine. Funds for the purchase of devices were collected within the artistic project “For you, Warrior!”.

On the basis of the Lviv Higher Vocational College of Computer Technologies and Construction, a unique all-wheel-drive buggy HURKIT was developed, which has no analogues. As early as next week, this all-terrain vehicle will be used by the military on the front lines.

30 children aged 5 and over from the modular town of Lviv were taken to the cinema. Popcorn, cola and tickets for IDP children to watch the Ukrainian cartoon “Mavka. The Forest Song” were paid for by the Vifezda religious community of Christians of the Evangelical Faith in Lviv.

Rivne oblast

The process of booking conscripts continues in Rivne oblast. This year, the RMA received over two hundred appeals from enterprises to postpone the mobilization of 50% of their employees.

Since the end of March, five sappers from Rivne oblast have been carrying out combat tasks of demining Mykolaiv oblast liberated from the russian occupiers. During this time, pyrotechnicians examined 4 hectares of land, where they neutralized 20 munitions. Due to the dense minefields of the surrounding areas, sappers have to work extremely carefully. Sappers examine 50 to 100 meters of territory per day.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Yaroslav Vyzniak, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Ternopil. They discussed possibilities of activation and expansion of partnership of Ternopil oblast with regions of the Republic of Lithuania and implementation of joint projects.

The city council reported that families of socially vulnerable categories who suffered from the war and live in Ternopil received cash certificates for the purchase of products.

A memorial plaque to Roman Stetsyuk, a soldier, will be installed on the facade of school #3, where he studied. In March 2022, the fighter was killed in Luhansk oblast. The soldier was buried on the Alley of Heroes in Ternopil.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA held a meeting of the commission on determining enterprises, institutions and organizations, which are critically important for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the livelihood of the population in a special period.

An EcoFlow River MAX charging station sent for one of the military units of Khmelnytskyi thanks to the funds collected at a charity run in support of defenders, which was held on the initiative of the NGO “Support of Ukraine” in cooperation with the Khmelnytskyi RMA and “Race Expert”.

Chernivtsi oblast

In Bukovina, the implementation of the program of support and integration of IDPs and other war victims continues. In particular, UAH 30 million was allocated from the regional budget for program measures, of which UAH 20 million will be directed to the reconstruction and capital repair of premises and buildings to accommodate IDPs, and UAH 10 million to ensure proper conditions for temporary residence of IDPs.

Twelve communities of Bukovyna received sets of sewing equipment thanks to the “Unification of communities -– for sustainable economic growth (ConCom4EG)” project, which is implemented by the Mamalyha Village Council, the Bukovyna Community Development Agency, the “Measures for Economic Growth” initiative with the support of the EU.

The RMA reported that there are 5 “Clothing Banks” from the Red Cross Society of Ukraine operating in Bukovyna. They are located in different communities of the oblast. 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Pentagon announced a new $2.6 billion military aid package to Ukraine, including heavy munitions, namely, additional ammunition for the Patriot air defense system; additional ammunition for HIMARS; 155-mm and 105-mm artillery shells; 120-mm mortar shells.

The Pentagon announced a $2.1 billion package of air defense capabilities, artillery and tank munitions, mortar systems, missiles and anti-armor systems from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).

Andrzej Duda, President of Poland, announced that the country sent 4 MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, 4 more are on their way. In addition, Poland is ready to send another 6.

Margarita Robles, Minister of Defense of Spain, announced that the country will send Leopard tanks to Ukraine in the second half of April. The country is also working on the preparation and possible sending of 4 more tanks.

The Pentagon reported that Ukrainian soldiers will soon start training on Abrams tanks. Over 7K Ukrainian servicemen have been trained in the US since the war began.

Mao Ning, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, stated that China is ready to cooperate with the EU for the political settlement of the “crisis in Ukraine”.

The UN Human Rights Council adopted a resolution condemning russia’s violation of human rights in Ukraine, including deportation of children from temporarily occupied territories.

Andrzej Duda presented Volodymyr Zelenskyy with the Order of the White Eagle, Poland‘s highest award. The Office of the Polish President reports that the President of Ukraine was awarded for recognition of merits in deepening relations between the countries, activities in the field of security and stability in protection of human rights.

Estonia blocked another 53 sites that allowed watching russian TV channels. Currently, Estonia has restricted access to 195 websites and 51 TV channels in order to protect the information space and ensure compliance with sanctions.

The price ceiling for oil from russia came into effect in India.

Fu Cun, Chinese ambassador to the EU, announced that China does not recognize Crimea as russian, as well as other territories of Ukraine that “became” part of the russian federation.

The United Kingdom blocked the webcast of the meeting of the UN Security Council, at which the commissioner for children’s affairs in the russian federation maria lvova-belova is scheduled to speak. “She should not use the UN platform to spread disinformation. If she wants to give an account of her actions, she can do it in the Hague,” said a spokesman for the British mission to the UN in New York.

Bill Clinton, Former US President, regrets that he encouraged Ukraine to give up nuclear weapons. “I feel personally involved because I forced them (Ukraine – ed.) to agree to give up nuclear weapons. And none of them believe that russia would have gone for it (invasion – ed.) if Ukraine still had its weapons,” Clinton said.

Vitalii Usatyi, temporary charge d’affaires of Ukraine in the Czech Republic, reported that from February 24, 2022 to April 2023, the country accepted about 500K refugees from Ukraine.

Ukrainian asylum seekers who are in Canada and are holders of a CUAET visa can extend or change their temporary status in the country for free until March 31, 2024. Citizens of Ukraine who come to Canada under the CUAET program will be provided with one-time financial assistance and temporary housing for up to 2 weeks.

The conductive French Pocket publishing house and the University of Lyon initiated the publication of a unique first self-study textbook of the Ukrainian language for the French within the framework of the well-known linguistics project Langue Pour Tous (Language for all).
