Ukrainian troops repelled one attack near Vovchansk towards Kharkiv today.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy launched five attacks near Lozova, Nova Kruhliakivka, Petropavlivka and Zahryzove. One firefight is still ongoing.
Towards Lyman, the invaders attacked 17 times near Zelenyi Hai, Kopanky, Novoserhiivka, Hrekivka, Novyi, Zelena Dolyna, Novoliubivka, Katerynivka, Yampolivka, Terny and Kolodiazy. Three firefights are ongoing.
Towards Siversk, enemy aircraft attacked Siversk and Zvanivka using two guided bombs. The enemy attacked our defenders twice in the area of Bilohorivka.
Towards Kramatorsk, Ukrainian defenders repelled two attempts by the occupiers to advance near Chasiv Yar. Russian invaders fired two guided aerial bombs at Bondarne.
Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked nine times near Dyliivka and Toretsk. Three firefights are still ongoing.
Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers have made 17 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Kotliarivka, Uspenivka, Dachne, Andriivka and Shevchenko. Defence forces are holding back the enemy’s offensive and repelled 15 attacks, with two firefights still ongoing. Novooleksandrivka came under an air strike with two guided bombs.
Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy attacked six times near Lysivka, Kostiantynopil and Razdolne. One firefight is still ongoing. The enemy launched airstrikes with unguided missiles at Novosilka and dropped two unmanned aerial vehicles near Odradne.
The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions towarsd Orikhiv, Huliaypole and Kherson.
In Kursk oblast, Ukrainian defenders repelled three russian attacks. The enemy has carried out 26 air strikes, dropped a total of 40 guided aerial bombs and 287 artillery shellings on the positions of our troops and settlements.
The situation in other frontline areas did not change significantly.
President of Ukraine Zelenskyy announced that the Government of Ukraine will develop a programme to support IDPs. Within 2-3 weeks, a programme to support internally displaced persons in obtaining an apartment or house in a new location should be ready.
The Parliament’s website said that law №4223-IX on the mental health care system has been signed. The law provides for the establishment of a national commission on mental health, requires psychologists and psychotherapists to have a complete higher education and be certified, and defines important terms in the legislation.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
The General Staff reported that Ukrainian defenders repelled one russian attack near Vovchansk towards Kharkivr.

The RMA said that yesterday towards Kharkiv, our troops repelled four enemy attacks near Vovchansk and Kozacha Lopan.
There were 8 enemy attacks towards Kupiansk in yesterday. The defence forces repelled the enemy’s assault near Zahryzove, Petropavlivka, Pishchane and Nova Kruhliakivka.
Attacks
At around 2:20pm, the enemy attacked Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv. A Molniya UAV hit the facade of a residential building. There was no information about the victims. The regional prosecutor’s office said that explosive experts continue to work at the site, as fragments of the drone, possibly with a warhead, are still present.
Another Molniya was shot down by air defence forces an hour earlier in the same area.
At 1am, the russians attacked Kharkiv, Novobavarskyi district. The falling wreckage of a Geranium UAV damaged power lines.
Over the past day, the occupiers used at least 8 UAVs against unarmed residents of Kharkiv oblast, 6 of which were shot down by air defence forces.
At 11:30pm, russians attacked Kharkiv, Kyivskyi district. The falling wreckage of a Geranium UAV damaged about 100 market pavilions. There were no casualties.
Yuliia Ivanova, an employee of AVEK, reported that a children’s hub was hit in Barabashovo during the night – it was a place where children’s clothes were distributed free of charge and exhibitions were held. She says it’s good that there was no fire, so part of the exhibition survived. Before today’s attack, Barabashovo was under attack in 2022, when a third of the market burned down.

At 7pm, russians attacked Kupiansk. A 57-year-old volunteer was injured when a drone dropped an explosive device on a car. He was hospitalised in a medical facility.
At 3:30pm, russians attacked Borshchova village. The shell hit the ground in the forest, in an open area.
At 11am, russians attacked Kupiansk. A 43-year-old man was injured as a result of the shelling.
Other
As a result of increased evacuation measures, 15 people were evacuated from Kupiansk and Borova directions.
Status of the victims of the shelling of Izium on 4 February. There are four people in hospital: two adults are in moderate condition; a six-year-old boy is in stable condition; and a 14-year-old girl is in serious condition.
Almost 325,000 hectares have been sown with winter crops for the 2025 harvest in all categories of farms, up 10% year-on-year.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
The russian army launched assaults towards Siversk: 9 attacks were recorded there over the last day, compared to none the day before. The occupation forces also increased pressure towards Lyman.
At the same time, Pokrovsk remains the most intense area on the frontline. The russian military continues to attempt to break through the Ukrainian defences, although the number of attempts has decreased: 24 attacks on 5 February, eleven less than the previous day.
Attacks
Head Horbunov reported that in the morning of 6 February, russian forces attacked a substation in Kostiantynivka, damaging electrical equipment and causing power outages. Also today, russian troops conducted four air strikes with guided bombs on the outskirts of the city. There were no casualties.
Yesterday russian troops made 3,582 attacks along the frontline and in the residential sector. 8 settlements were hit: Kramatorsk, Lyman, Pokrovsk, Toretsk, villages of Andriivka, Ivanopillia, Mykolaivka, and Rih. 25 civilian objects were damaged, including 11 residential buildings.
In Pokrovsk, the enemy most often attacked people with drones – two people were injured, a private house and a civilian car were damaged.
The russian army hit an armoured Ukrposhta vehicle with an FPV drone as it was leaving Pokrovsk, which Pavlo Diachenko, Spokesman of Donetsk police, calls targeted drone attacks on civilian vehicles.

Russians dropped a FAB-250 bomb on the village of Rih, injuring a civilian and damaging 4 private houses and 5 outbuildings.
Russia shelled Lyman with artillery, injuring a woman, damaging an educational institution, a non-residential building and a garage.
Two FAB-250 bombs were used by russian troops to hit Mykolaivka of Kostiantynivka community, damaging an outbuilding and a civilian car.
In Ivanopillia, 6 private houses, a car and a gas pipeline were damaged.
Other
Donetskoblhaz reports that gas supply has been restored in Novodmytrivka, Donetsk oblast. About a hundred houses were left without gas due to shelling a few weeks ago. Work was suspended due to explosions. On the fifth attempt, gas workers repaired the damage to the gas supply system. The frontline is eight kilometres from the village.
The International Organisation for Migration said that the studio apartments being set up for displaced people from Mariupol in the Dnipro Technological University dormitory will be available for 700 people.
Luhansk oblast
Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that the enemy concentrated its efforts towards Lyman, where it attacked, especially near Novoliubivka, Hrekivka and Novoiehorivka. Ukrainian troops are holding the line. The invaders used artillery eight times. They sent 240 UAVs towards our fortifications.
The occupiers are giving three weeks to the residents of a high-rise building in Siverskodonetsk located in the new areas of the city to resettle and, accordingly, to remove their property. This must be done by 1 March. The issues of accommodation, as well as transportation and storage of furniture and other property, must be resolved independently. The russian contractors are not responsible for the loss of things that the repairmen find in the apartments during the demonstration restoration.
In the so-called “lpr”, fares for city and intercity transport have doubled since 1 February. This applies in particular to tariffs in Luhansk municipal transport, where there is a significant shortage of drivers. Along with the price increase, the carrier is trying to increase the economic attractiveness of the company.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
The wreckage of the drone was discovered by passers-by in Dnipro, Kyiv oblast. Divers from the SES Mobile Rescue Centre examined the area, removed the wreckage of the enemy UAV and handed it over for further investigation.
Kyiv City State Administration reported that 37 dual-purpose buildings are being built in Kyiv’s educational institutions. In 2024, the city provided 34,000 new places in shelters, which increased the number of children attending school. A total of UAH 2.4 billion has been allocated to equip shelters, prepare educational institutions for the autumn and winter periods and create classes on the Defence of Ukraine. Since the beginning of 2022, 156 educational institutions in Kyiv have been damaged, of which 143 have already been restored.
The National Library of Ukraine opened a renovated shelter for children in Kyiv. The project was implemented with the support of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The reconstruction lasted several months. The renovated space was equipped with a stage, a screen for watching videos, an area for master classes, and books for reading during air raids.
The Kyiv Regional Employment Centre has opened an information and counselling centre in Hansen’s Town, where IDP families live. From now on, a specialist from the regional employment centre will work there and provide advice on employment, vocational training and career development.
The results of the international forum ‘Veterans – the Way Home’ were presented in Kyiv. The project is an additional platform that will allow us to communicate with the public and communities, taking into account the relevance of the policies implemented. All institutes, universities and medical institutions will be involved.
Kyiv oblast is represented at the Invictus Games 2015 by Oleksandr Androshchuk, an Armed Forces soldier and veteran who was injured in November 2022 during an enemy artillery attack in Donetsk Oblast. The multi-sport tournament will take place from 8 to 16 February 2025 in Whistler and Vancouver, Canada. Oleksandr will compete in such disciplines as rowing, swimming, rugby, skeleton and snowboarding.
Zhytomyr oblast
Zhytomyr hospitals received modern medical equipment. 50 patient monitors and 50 modern anaesthesia and respiratory systems were donated by the Government of the Republic of Korea to Ukrainian hospitals as part of its international support for the Ukrainian healthcare sector. The total value of this high-tech equipment exceeds USD 12 million.
Zviahel Hospital received charitable assistance from the twin city of Ludwigshafen. The partners from Germany have once again supported the community’s healthcare sector by donating much-needed medicines for the treatment of patients. The aid includes broad-spectrum antibiotics, which play an important role in the treatment of complex infections, especially among military personnel who need long-term therapy after being injured.
Sumy oblast
Anti-Aircraft Guns shot down 9 enemy UAVs of “Shahed” type in the sky over Sumy Oblast. Since the beginning of 2025, 322 enemy drones have been destroyed by the oblast’s air defense units.
The State Border Service of Ukraine reported that towards Sumy, fighters of “Steel Border” destroyed a communications antenna and a PER complex that the russian army was using for reconnaissance and attacks.
On 6 February, after 6pm., an enemy drone crashed in the territory of Okhtyrka community. Four private houses were damaged. The consequences of the russian attack are being clarified.
At night, the russian military carried out 2 shellings of Yunakivka community. The enemy launched 2 mortar strikes and one GAB strike.
On 5 February, russians carried out 29 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 47 explosions: UAV attack (5 explosions), FPV-drone strikes (11 explosions), mortar shelling (6 explosions), artillery (19 explosions), GABs (6 explosions).. The attacks targeted 10 border communities: Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropilia? Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Seredyna-Buda, Svesa, and Shostka communities.
Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the Regional Military Administration informed that russian troops are hunting for civilians and emergency service vehicles in Sumy oblast using FPV-drones and UAVs armed with grenades. According to him, more than 50 energy facilities in the region have been affected, and over 255 houses have been either destroyed or damaged.
Among those freed from russian captivity during the exchange of prisoners of war on 5 February, three were from Sumy oblast. Returning home are Oleksandr Nedaivodin from Konotop community, Viacheslav Skrypka from Shostka, and Andriy Novikov, a native of Sukhodil village in Esman community.
Chernihiv oblast
During a night-time attack, soldiers of Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment destroyed an enemy ‘Shahed’ drone.
Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that over the past day, on 5 February, the кussian army attacked six settlements in three border communities of Chernihiv oblast. The enemy attacked Semenivka, Snovsk, and Horodnia communities. Recorded were 10 strikes from barrel artillery, 4 mortar attacks, 5 FPV-drone strikes, 5 drops of explosive devices from UAVs, and 4 attacks using unguided aerial rockets.
The Department of Civil Protection and Defence Work of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration informed that the enemy delivered four strikes by unguided air-to-surface missiles from a helicopter on the outskirts of Halahanivka village in Semenivka community. As a result of the airstrike, utilitarian buildings were destroyed, two residential houses were damaged, the hangar of an agricultural enterprise was damaged, a civilian’s car was affected, and a horse was killed.
During the prisoner exchange on 5 February, Chernihiv residents – National Guard staff sergeants from Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Yevhen Holin and Oleksandr Chub – returned from russian captivity.
Ihor Kostovarov, Head of the Starostyn Region announced that in Chernihiv oblast, the comprehensive repair of Nova Bykivka rural medical clinic, which was damaged as a result of hostilities, has been completed.
Representatives of Belgian development agency Enabel visited Chernihiv. Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported that during the meeting, discussions focused on support in the fields of education, healthcare, and the restoration of infrastructural facilities. In particular, Belgian partners plan to assist in modernising Chernihiv Regional Blood Centre and in reconstructing the construction lyceum in Chernihiv.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, head of the RMA, reported that last evening, russian forces struck Novopavlivka community (Synelnykove region) by KABs. The attack caused a fire, destroyed 2 private houses and damaged 8 more houses, a car, a gas pipeline and a power line. There were explosions in Dnipro region, where 4 private houses, a farm building and a greenhouse were damaged. Also, russian artillery attacked Nikopol region twice, targeting the regional centre and Pokrov community.
During the day, russian forces launched over 10 attacks on Nikopol region, by artillery, kamikaze drones and dropped ammunition from a drone. In Marhanets, a 45-year-old woman was injured by an artillery strike. The attacks targeted the regional centre, Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka communities, causing damage to industrial facilities, apartment buildings, 4 private houses, 5 farm buildings, an unused structure, an administrative building, 3 stores, 4 vehicles, a greenhouse, infrastructure and power lines.
In Dnipro, the first-ever Women’s Construction Battalion in Ukraine is restoring a damaged residential building that was hit by a russian strike on 23 February 2024. This initiative helps women, including displaced persons, gain new skills and find jobs in the construction industry.
Poltava oblast
According to the RMA, the 1st adaptive clubs Active Parks – Unstoppable have been launched for Ukrainian defenders in Poltava oblast.
During the latest prisoner exchange, soldier Pavlo Zuban from Poltava oblast was freed. He will now see his younger daughter in person for the 1st time.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, informed that last night, Ukrainian air defence forces destroyed 6 attack UAVs over Cherkasy oblast.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that the explosion heard by city residents occurred outside Zaporizhzhia. There were no casualties infrastructure damage reported. The russian military failed to hit its intended target.
As reported by the Ukrainian Air Force Command, in the morning, russian tactical aviation launched guided aerial bombs at Zaporizhzhia oblast.
According to the Southern Defence Forces, Ukrainian forces from the 412th Unmanned Systems Regiment destroyed a modern russian Buk-M3 air defence system in Zaporizhzhia oblast.
As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, near Novepole in Donetsk oblast, Ukrainian defenders in Huliaipole region repelled 2 russian attacks. According to the Southern Defence Forces, in Orikhiv region, russian forces did not conduct offensive actions but continued troop rotations, engineering work and aerial reconnaissance.
According to the RMA, on 5 February, russian forces launched 473 attacks on 14 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast, including 2 airstrikes on Huliaipole and Bilohiria. There were no casualties reported.
Mykolaiv oblast
Vitalii Kim, Head of the RMA, reported that around 4pm, explosions were heard in Mykolaiv, but no emergency calls were made. The explosions occurred outside the city.
According to Mykolaiv RMA, on 5 February, russian forces attacked Kutsurub community twice by FPV drones. There were no casualties reported.
Odesa oblast
Referring to the Air Command South, on the night of 6 February, Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 2 Shahed drones over Odesa oblast.
The command also reported that on the evening of 5 February, russian forces likely attacked the oblast by a Kh-35 guided missile.
According to the RMA, 1 man was killed and another injured as a result of the russian missile strike on Odesa oblast on 5 February. Both victims were civilians.
Kherson oblast
Roman Mrochko, Head of Kherson CMA, reported that russian forces attacked Antonivka, suburb of Kherson, by a drone, injuring a 52-year-old man.
According to the RMA, russian troops shelled Dniprovske in Kherson oblast by artillery, injuring a 66-year-old man who suffered an explosive trauma, shrapnel wounds and an open shoulder fracture.
Roman Mrochko, Head of CMA, said that russian forces dropped an unidentified object from a drone on an Invincibility Centre in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson, temporarily suspending its operations.
According to the RMA, in the morning, russian forces dropped explosives from a drone on a resident of Beryslav, injuring a 47-year-old man, who was hospitalised.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, informed that on 5 February, russian shelling killed 1 person and injured 18 in Kherson oblast. The russian forces attacked 37 settlements, damaging an high-rise building, 18 private houses, a gas pipeline, garages and cars.
A 71-year-old woman from Stanislav died in the hospital after being injured in a russian drone attack on 4 February.
According to the National Police, they evacuated 2 men, a woman with mobility issues and a 46-year-old man wounded by a russian UAV attack from Beryslav. Also, with the help of the Red Cross and local administrations, an elderly woman was evacuated from Shyroka Balka.
Based on the information provided by the 79th Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service, among the Ukrainian prisoners of war released on 5 February were 2 servicemen from Kherson border unit. They were captured on the first day of the full-scale invasion at the Chonhar checkpoint.
Referring to the Southern Defence Forces, during the day, Ukrainian forces in the south destroyed a russian Buk-M1 air defense system, 8 artillery units, 4 mortars, 35 armored vehicles, an electronic warfare station and 9 reconnaissance drones. Also, they targeted 62 russian bunkers and shelters, 3 observation posts and 2 enemy firing positions.
Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine
Volyn oblast
Residents from the oblast were returned from russian captivity. Border guard Viktor Malchevskyi, defender of Mariupol and Azovstal, was in captivity since the spring of 2022. And Melnik Mykola, who has been in captivity since March 2022.
Zakarpattia oblast
The OVA signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Modern Ukraine CF. The organization implements a number of projects, including rehabilitation and recovery of children affected by the war and assistance to the Defense Forces. In addition, the team is working on creating a series of murals in Ukrainian cities and abroad together with famous artists to popularize Ukrainian culture.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The RMA reported that an art therapy class for mothers of fallen Heroes Healing through Art, was held in Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Veterans Space Veteran PRO.
Lviv oblast
The RMA held a meeting with Valentyn Serhiychuk, representative of the 5th Separate Kyiv Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They discussed recruiting, support and provision of the battalion.
The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the 1st Separate Assault Battalion named after Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kotsiubayl Da Vinci (the Military Unit A4848). They discussed the coordination of joint actions regarding recruiting activities, battalion support, as well as cooperation with district military administrations and territorial communities of the oblast.
Rivne oblast
The RMA reported that 150 defenders were released from russian captivity. Among those released from captivity are 5 servicemen from Rivne oblast.
Ternopil oblast
Velykoberezovytska community and Svyatohorska community, Kramatorsk region, Donetsk oblast signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document covers humanitarian initiatives, infrastructure restoration, and experience exchange.
Ternopil community sent 2 Nissan Navara and Ford SUVs, 5 field medic backpacks, which came from the Blau-Gelbes Kreuz e.V. German CF (Blue-Yellow Cross) to the combat unit of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Ternopil oblast. Each backpack is designed to provide assistance to five servicemen and can be used as a stretcher if necessary.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi community sent 20 DJI MAVIC 3T Thermal quadcopters worth UAH 3.3m to the Defense Forces.
Chernivtsi oblast
The calendar Beyond the Barrier-Free Border was presented in Chernivtsi. The calendar features photos of defenders who lost their health while defending their homeland. 12 Heroes who inspire and motivate us to never give up.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with David Lammy, British Foreign Secretary. They discussed support for Ukraine.
Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, had a phone conversation with Lindsey Graham, US Republican Senator. They discussed establishing a constructive dialogue with the new administration of the President of the US.
Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, met with Laurent Saint-Martin, French Minister of Foreign Trade. They agreed to maintain an active dialogue on both strengthening bilateral trade and Ukraine’s gradual integration into the EU internal market.
