It has been the 1191st day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

russian invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders.

On 29 May, there were 79 combat clashes on the frontline.

Ukraine’s border settlements suffered from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian federation, in particular Maryine, Hirky, Bila Bereza, Slavhorod, Kucherivka, Dmytrivka, Oleksandrivka, Riasne, Shevchenkove, Popivka, Komarivka, Turyia, Pokrovka in Sumy oblast; Tymofiivka in Kharkiv oblast. Airstrikes hit the settlements of Myropylske and Naumivka in Sumy oblast.

Towards Kharkiv, Ukrainian soldiers stopped two attacks near Starytsia and Vovchansk.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy twice carried out assault actions in the area of ​​Nova Kruhliakivka, and the battle is currently ongoing.

Towards Lyman the invading army attacked five times near the settlements of Lypove, Hrekivka, and Ridkodub. Three combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Siversk, the Defense Forces repelled four attacks. The invading units tried to advance in the direction of Hryhorivka, but were stopped by Ukrainian soldiers.

Towards Kramatorsk, the Ukrainian defenders stopped four attempts by the occupiers to advance in the vicinity of Predtechyne, Bila Hora, Stupochok and Kurdyumivka. One combat clash is still ongoing.

Towards Toretsk, near Toretsk, a fierce battle is taking place.

Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers made 31 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the areas of the settlements of Zoria, Popiv Yar, Malynivka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Troitske and Andriivka. The Defense Forces were holding back the enemy’s onslaught and stopped 27 attacks. Dovha Balka was hit by the KAB.

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy attacked 16 times in the vicinity of the settlements of Kostiantynopol, Bahatyr, Zelene Pole, Novopol, Vilne Pole and Novodarivka. Three combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Huliaipole, the enemy launched airstrikes on Huliaipole with unguided air missiles; on Verkhnya Tersa, Malynivka and Olhivske – with air bombs.

Towards  Orikhiv, the aggressor attacked twice, fighting took place near Stepove.

Towards Kherson, the enemy carried out one unsuccessful attack, in addition, it struck Olhivka with unguided air missiles.

Towards Kursk, Ukrainian defenders repelled four russian attacks, and seven more combat clashes are ongoing. The enemy carried out six airstrikes, dropped a total of 15 guided aerial bombs on the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements, and carried out 121 artillery attacks, including nine from multiple launch rocket systems.

The situation on other fronts has not changed significantly.

Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov, specialist in the field of military radio technologies, says that on the morning of May 29, russia attacked the territory of Ukraine with a new type of attack jet Dan-M UAV. The flight time of this UAV is 25-45 minutes, the speed is 400-750 km/h, and the flight altitude is up to 9 km.

The Air Force reports that on the night of May 29, russia attacked the territory of Ukraine with 90 attack UAVs of the Shahed type and simulator drones of various types. 56 drones were shot down.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline
Towards Kharkiv, Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped two enemy attacks near Starytsia and Vovchansk. Towards Kupiansk, russians stormed twice near Nova Kruhliakivka, and as of 4pm, the battle is still ongoing.

On 28 May, there were 205 combat engagements. Towards Kharkiv, the enemy tried to break through the defensive lines of our defenders four times in the areas of Starytsia, Vovchansk and Krasne Pershe. Eight attacks took place towards Kupiansk yesterday. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled the enemy’s assault in the areas of Zahryzove and Zelenyi Hai.

Attacks
Vitalii Karabanov, Head of Balakliia City Military Administration, reported that in Balakliia, russian drones attacked an enterprise that was damaged and looted during the occupation last night. The attack began around 1am and lasted up to an hour and a half. The company’s security was in a shelter, and no one was injured.

Yesterday 9 settlements came under hostile attack. 

The enemy actively used various types of weapons: 

▪️ 8 unguided aerial missiles;

▪️ 3 CABS;

▪️ 9 UAVs of the Geranium-2 type;

▪️ 2 Shahed UAVs;

▪️ 3 fpv drones;

▪️ 1 Molniya UAV.

Civilian infrastructure objects were damaged and destroyed:

▪️ in Kupiansk region, an apartment and 3 private houses were damaged;

▪️ in Izium region, the premises of 2 civilian enterprises were damaged.

Other

Almost 318 hectares of Kharkiv oblast were cleared of mines over the week. The Coordination Centre for Mine Action ensures systematic organisation of demining and safety measures in the oblast. A total of 2,075 explosive items were defused.

The press service of Kharkiv State Emergency Service reported that a forest fire broke out in Bereznyky of Vovchansk community over an area of 21 hectares and dead wood over 2 hectares, which has been extinguished for almost a day. Rescuers were able to prevent the fire from spreading to residential buildings. The SES says that the firefighting efforts were complicated by the detonation of unexploded ordnance and the threat of russian strikes.

29 May marks the one-year anniversary of the death of hospital worker and journalist Iryna Tsybukh. In Kharkiv, a minute of silence was held in memory of Iryna. About 20 people joined the action, carrying placards, as well as people passing by and drivers.

Donetsk oblast

Frontline
The General Staff reported that the russian military reduced the number of attacks towards Pokrovsk to 54. The previous day there were 65 attacks.

Over the last day, Ukrainian defenders stopped russian attacks in the areas of Myroliubivka, Malynivka, Myrne, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Kotliarivka, Horikhove and in the direction of Zoria, Oleksiivka, Rusyn Yar, Novomykolaivka and Yablunivka.

Towards Lyman, the russian army attacked 24 times, trying to advance in the areas of Ridkodub, Kolodyazi, Nadiia, Hrekivka, Serebrianka forest, Karpivka, Serednie, Novyi Myr, and Zelena Dolyna.


Attacks

Head Horbunov stated that at 4:20am on 29 May, russian troops fired a UAV at the town of Kostiantynivka, killing one person. The shelling also damaged a private house. At 5am, the russian army again struck the town with an FPV drone, damaging a private house.

Oleksandr Honcharenko, Head of the CMA, reported that at 4am, Kramatorsk came under two russian attacks. The shelling took place in the industrial area. There were no casualties, but there was some destruction.

In addition, after midnight today, russian troops shelled 7 settlements: Bilytske, Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Novodonetsk. One wounded person was reported in Sloviansk.

One killed and 13 wounded as a result of russian aggression in Donetsk oblast. 

Yesterday police recorded 2,952 hostile attacks along the frontline and in the residential sector.   

The attacks took place in 13 settlements: Bilytske, Kostiantynivka, Lyman, Rodynske, Sloviansk, Andriivka, Dovha Balka, Illinivka, Korovii Yar, Novovodiane, Novodmytrivka, Rivne, Shakhove.

68 civilian objects, including 46 residential buildings were destroyed.

In Rivne of Pokrovsk community, russians killed a civilian. 

The enemy dropped a GAB-250 bomb on Shakhove, wounding two residents and damaging a private house. Two more people were wounded in Novovodiane of Bilozersk community, and a farm was damaged.

Kostiantynivka withstood eight attacks by MLRS, drones and artillery. The invaders wounded 4 civilians, damaged 13 apartment buildings and 14 private houses, 2 shops, an ambulance station, an educational institution, a cultural centre, a petrol station, a car park and a civilian car.

Four people were injured in Dovha Balka of Illinivka community, which was attacked by two russian aerial bombs. Five private houses and a shop were destroyed. In Illinivka, 5 houses were damaged as a result of the bombing.

In Sloviansk, a drone attack damaged an educational institution and an administrative building. A private house and a car were damaged in Andriivka, Kramatorsk region.

In Bilytske, hostile drones damaged a private house and a civilian car. In Rodynske, 5 private houses and an administrative building were damaged.

The State Emergency Service said that in Lyman community, rescuers have localised a forest fire of almost 155 hectares caused by a russian airstrike on Brusivka on 27 May. Currently, the forest litter between the villages of Shchurov and Brusivka is smouldering. Firefighting operations are ongoing.

Other

Serhii Dobriak, Head of the CMA, reported that the pace of evacuations in Pokrovsk community has increased due to constant shelling. Up to 12 people leave every day. The city is suffering from GABs, FPV drones and shelling.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy used cannon artillery 11 times and carried out air strikes twice. They sent 54 unmanned aerial vehicles towards Ukrainian settlements and fortifications. The occupiers again tried to advance near Bilohorivka. They also staged assault operations in the areas of Hrekivka, Nadiia and Serebrianka forest.

By 1 August, the so-called “lpr” will approve a plan to engage the population in passing the Ready for Work and Defence test. The relevant decree was signed by the occupation administration. So, over the next two months, a plan will be developed and approved to implement the all-russian GPP complex in the occupied territory of Luhansk oblast. Special attention will be paid to men who, if they successfully pass the standards, may receive a call-up to the russian army in addition to the promised tax rebate.  

A month later, on 1 September, the first russian cadet class in Kadiivka will be opened. Representatives of the occupation prosecutor’s office will secretly supervise local youth. Enrolment will take place starting from the 10th grade, taking into account the average score of the certificate and an interview with the security forces. The school, where the open militarisation of students will take place, is named after one of the first leaders of the “lpr”.

The Yellow Ribbon movement reported that a centre for a children’s summer camp is being prepared on the basis of the former Soniachnyi sanatorium in occupied Sorokyne (formerly Krasnodon) under the supervision of the russian Guard. Children will be taught drill, assault rifle training, how to work with drones, watch propaganda films, and take courses in mine clearance.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Prime Minister of the Republic of Finland Petteri Orpo, together with Head of the State Emergency Service Andriy Danik, visited the Svyatoshinsky district of the capital – a residential neighbourhood that was hit by a russian ballistic missile on 24 April. The delegation also visited a shelter in one of the capital’s lyceums. Finland plans to support Ukraine in developing its shelter system.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that three russian servicemen were found guilty of cruel treatment of civilians during the occupation of Kyiv oblast. In March 2022, in the temporarily occupied village of Gavronshchyna in the Bucha district, where they abused a local resident for a week: they inflicted bodily harm, threatened him with firearms, tied his hands and feet with rope, buried him in the ground, and did not provide him with water, food or clothing. Each of these russian soldiers was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

On 29 May, a minute of silence was held in the centre of Kyiv to honour the memory of paramedic Iryna Tsybukh, a member of the Hospitaliers and manager of Suspilne. She died a year ago during a rotation in the Kharkiv direction. In February, Iryna Tsybukh was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.

The State Tax University in Irpin announced that a Canadian company will restore the damaged main campus building. The main campus building will be constructed according to a design project by Stantec, a company that worked on the Panama Canal and Toronto Airport. The company’s idea won an open international architectural competition.

The Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Kyiv Regional State Administration reported that there are 32 temporary accommodation sites in Kyiv oblast, 17 of which are modular towns. These sites have provided shelter to 5,712 people who lost their homes due to russia’s full-scale invasion. The modular towns are mostly inhabited by locals whose homes were destroyed or damaged as a result of russia’s armed aggression.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr RMA reported that on 28 May, the First Regional Forum of Resilience Centres was held in Zhytomyr Oblast, bringing together psychologists and teams from such centres from 12 oblasts of Ukraine. Currently, resilience centres have been opened in 10 territorial communities. Over the past year, nearly 16,000 people received psychosocial assistance, including about 400 veterans and their families. Since the beginning of this year, the number has already reached about 8,000.

Zhanna Solovyova, chair of the Zhytomyr Community Foundation, announced that components for robotic systems had been delivered to two Ukrainian Armed Forces training centres. The special equipment was purchased with funds raised during a charity football tournament in memory of fallen soldier Vitaliy Osinsky. The Zhytomyr Community Foundation was one of the organisers of the football tournament.

Sumy oblast

On 8 May Yaroslav Chepurnyi, Spokesperson for “Kursk” military unit, said that russian forces are attempting to advance deeper into Sumy Oblast toward Vodolaha, Bilovody, Kindrativka, and Loknia. Ukrainian troops are fiercely repelling enemy attacks, inflicting heavy losses and eliminating russian infantry groups

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that on 29 May, a russian strike destroyed a cultural center and damaged a school in Verkhnia Syrovatka.

In Kuianivka, Bilopillia community, a 68-year-old local resident was killed in his home around 1am as a result of a russian drone strike. His 84-year-old relative sustained injuries and was hospitalized.

Valentyna Nazarenko, Head of Romny Regional Military Administration informed that at night on 29 May, russian forces struck a farm in Nedryhailiv community. A fire broke out in two warehouses at the site, which has since been extinguished. Agricultural equipment was damaged.

According to the Regional Military Administration, on the night of 29 May, russian forces attacked civilian targets in several communities in Sumy oblast using strike UAVs:

  • In Bilopillia community, a local resident was killed by a russian projectile. Another person was wounded and is in serious condition in the hospital. Residential houses were destroyed.
  • In Verkhnia Syrovatka community, civilian infrastructure was damaged.
  • In Richky community, a private house burned down following a UAV strike.
  • In Nedryhailiv community, russian forces struck a farm, igniting warehouses containing agricultural equipment.
  • In Seredyna-Buda community, a private house was damaged, and two residential buildings caught fire.
  • In Verkhnia Syrovatka community, a cultural center was damaged.
  • In Shostka community, a non-residential building was damaged.

As a result of russian shelling in the oblast over the past day, there are civilian casualties:

  • In Esman community, a 74-year-old woman was killed by guided aerial bomb strikes.
  • In Bilopillia community, a civilian man was killed in a drone strike, and a civilian woman was injured.
  • In Khotin community, a civilian born in 1950 was previously wounded.

The Regional Military Administration reported that over the course of a day, from the morning of 28 May to the morning of 29 May, russian forces carried out 140 attacks on 39 settlements across 14 territorial communities in the oblast. The highest number of strikes were recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy heavily used guided aerial bombs (over 30 strikes) and drone-dropped explosive grenades (over 20 strikes). Additionally, russian forces launched UAV and FPV-drone attacks across Sumy Oblast.

A vehicle carrying volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross hit a “Lepestok” mine on 28 May during the evacuation of civilians from Kindrativka village in Khotin community. According to the Red Cross Society, the volunteers were the only ones able to reach Kindrativka and evacuate two elderly individuals. Over the past three days, the Red Cross has evacuated 27 people from Khotin community, including nine with limited mobility.

Over the past day, local authorities, in coordination with units from the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations from border communities, evacuated 59 people.

Sumy doctors are working to save a 74-year-old woman who was injured in a russian strike on 26 May in Likarske village, located in Mykolaivka rural community. The cluster munition strike hit civilians who were tending their gardens at the time, resulting in one woman’s death. According to Vasyl Popadynets, a surgeon at the regional hospital, the patient has undergone surgery. Further operations and rehabilitation await Mrs. Mariia.

Kirill Illiashenko, who was wounded in a missile strike on Sumy on 13 April, won a silver medal at the European Beach Wrestling Championship for juniors, cadets, and youth in Croatia. During the missile strike, Kirill was traveling by bus with his mother on the way to training. After the impact, he broke a window, unlocked the door, and helped passengers escape. Kirill himself suffered three shrapnel wounds to the head and underwent surgery.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv Border Detachment reported that during the day on 28 May, russian forces attacked two border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Semenivka and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (18 explosions) and artillery strikes (9 explosions), launched a Lancet UAV attack (1 explosion) and an FPV-drone strike (1 explosion), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (18 explosions). As a result of incendiary explosives dropped from UAVs, a hangar and a private house in Mykolaivka, Semenivka community, were damaged.

The Commercial Court of Chernihiv oblast has ruled to recover over UAH 6.7m. from the russian federation in favor of LLC “Kapri-Trade,” whose household chemical products and hygiene items were destroyed due to hostilities in Chernihiv in March 2022. The case for compensation was considered on 14 May following a lawsuit filed by “Kapri-Trade” from Cherkasy.

The Regional Military Administration informed that this year, “RECOVERY” rehabilitation unit was launched at Chernihiv Regional Hospital, established with the support of a charitable organization. Since its opening, the facility has treated over 150 servicemen and more than 30 veterans. Qualified specialists work with them, including physical therapists, psychologists, rehabilitation nurses, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.

According to Mayor Yurii Fomichev, In Slavutych, a new automated centralized public warning system has been installed. It operates even in the absence of electricity. This was made possible through charitable assistance from French partners.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the RMA, reported that from the evening into the night, russian forces continued attacking Nikopol region. They attacked by drones and artillery, targeting the regional centre, Myrove, Marhanets and Pokrovske communities. In Pokrovske community, a 61-year-old man was injured in an artillery strike. 3 private houses and 30 solar panels were damaged. Also, the russian forces launched a strike by KABs on Novopavlivka community in Synelnykove region. 2 people were injured. 1 private house was destroyed and 2 damaged.

 

During the day, the attacks on Nikopol region continued. Drones and artillery targeted the regional centre, Chervonohryhorivka, Marhanets and Pokrov communities. In total, more than 25 strikes were recorded. 2 people – a 48-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man – were injured and received medical assistance. A high-rise building, 2 private houses, an administrative building, 5 cars, a truck, technical equipment, a municipal utility facility, 4 greenhouses, critical infrastructure and an unused building were damaged. The russian forces attacked Hrusheve community in Kryvyi Rih region. Also, Mezhova community in Synelnykove region came under attack. A utility building and a power line were damaged.

Kirovohrad oblast

A memorial ceremony was held in Kropyvnytskyi for Major Serhii Myhalatii. The soldier was killed on 26 May 2025, while resisting russian forces near Staryi Saltiv village in Kharkiv oblast. He was 30 years old.

Poltava oblast

In Poltava, a tribute was held in memory of paramedic Iryna Tsybukh. The commemoration took place at an intersection in the city center during the nationwide moment of silence on 29 May. Similar events were held in several cities across Ukraine on the anniversary of Cheka’s death.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that the russian military carried out an airstrike by aerial bombs on Verkhnia Tersa village in Polohy region. 2 men, aged 32 and 51, were killed. 2 women (64 and 70 years old) experienced acute stress reactions, and a 50-year-old man was injured. Over 50 houses were damaged and 5 destroyed as a result of the strike.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defence Forces in Orikhiv region repelled 6 russian assaults near Shcherbaky, Stepove, Novodanylivka and Robotyne. No combat engagements were recorded in Huliaipole region.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, stated that on 28 May, the russian military carried out 397 attacks on 10 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. In particular, 215 drones targeted Lobkove, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Preobrazhenka and Novodarivka.

A 49-year-old man was injured in a russian attack on Polohy region.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitalii Kim, Head of the RMA, reported that russian forces attacked a farming enterprise in Horokhivske community by ballistic weapons. 3 people are in critical condition and doctors are fighting for their lives.

According to Mykolaiv RMA, on 28 May, russian forces attacked Kutsurub community twice by FPV drones. In Dniprovske village, a fire broke out due to the shelling – the roof of an uninhabited building and dry grass in an open area caught fire. In another attack, a house and a vehicle were damaged. There were no injuries reported.

Also, a russian FPV drone attacked the coastal waters of Ochakiv community.

Odesa oblast

Based on the information provided by the Air Command South, russian forces attacked Odesa oblast by 3 unidentified aerial targets, the type of which is currently being established. 2 of the targets were destroyed and contact with the 3rd was lost.

Kherson oblast

Referring to Kherson RMA, on Mala Oleksandrivka village, a 44-year-old man was injured by a landmine. He sustained a blast injury, a foot amputation, facial and hand wounds and burns to the head. He was hospitalised.

The russian forces shelled Inzhenerne near Kherson. A 63-year-old man suffered a concussion, a blast injury and a closed head trauma.

The russian forces dropped explosives from a drone on a 43-year-old woman in Kherson. She sustained a blast injury and was hospitalised.

According to the City Military Administration, after 3pm, russian forces shelled Komyshany near Kherson. A 79-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man were injured.

Referring to the Prosecutor’s Office, around 1pm, russian forces shelled Antonivka, killing a 27-year-old man.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, reported that russian forces dropped explosives from a drone on 2 men in Beryslav, aged 33 and 46. Both died.

The RMA reported that a 57-year-old resident of Bilozirka required medical attention after being struck by a russian drone yesterday. He sustained a blast injury, concussion and a brain contusion.

In the morning, the russian military attacked a house in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson by a drone. A 68-year-old woman sustained a blast injury, facial burns and respiratory tract burns.

Later that morning, another drone attack on Dniprovskyi district injured a man. He suffered a blast injury, concussion and an acute stress reaction.

The State Emergency Service reported that a private house caught fire in Kherson during a night-time russian drone attack. 2 people were injured. Emergency services extinguished the blaze.

According to the RMA, on 28 May, at around 10pm, the Russian army shelled Dudchany village in Kherson oblast by artillery. Windows, a roof and walls of a private house were damaged. There were no casualties reported.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, stated that on 28 May, 10 people were injured due to russian shelling in Kherson oblast. The russian forces attacked 39 settlements. Gas pipelines, 2 apartment buildings, 8 private houses, agricultural facilities and vehicles were damaged.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Kovel City Council reported that on 28 May, the technical support team of the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine conducted another monitoring visit to Kovel to monitor the implementation of thermal modernization projects for public buildings.

Zakarpattia oblast

Uzhhorod City Council reported that the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd degree, was awarded to Captain Yevhen Haiduk, Commander of the Mountain Assault Platoon (the Military Unit A1778).

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk community sent 50 FPV drones to the 50th Regiment named after Semyon Vysochan of the National Guard.

Lviv oblast

Oleksandr Buhrynets, from Sheptytskyi was awarded withv the For Wounding Order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine. The defender served as a rifleman. In 2023, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk oblast, he received numerous serious injuries. The soldier is currently undergoing rehabilitation.

The President of Ukraine awarded Vasyl Ilyuk, Senior Rifleman-Operator from the Sambir region with the III degree For Courage Order (posthumously). He was killed in September 2024 while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Myasozharivka, Luhansk oblast.

Rivne oblast

The oblast received 5 special ambulances thanks to the cooperation of the regional authorities with the Olena Zelenska Foundation, the UEM Foundation and the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. In total, there are currently 140 ambulances in the oblast.

Ternopil oblast

The 71st Separate Jaeger Brigade of Airborne Assault Troops 4 DJI Mavic 3 Thermal quadcopters from Ternopil community

The 35th Separate Rifle Battalion received 35 FPV drones from Ternopil community.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA presented an award to the relatives of Oleksandr Holiantus, who is considered missing. The Defender awarded the Fatherland medal.

Chernivtsi oblast

Internally displaced persons from Luhansk oblast received humanitarian assistance at the volunteer hub in Chernivtsi. Families with elderly people aged 60+ received assistance, provided they had IDP status and did not receive food packages from December 2024 to April 2025.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Ukraine and Finland have launched an international Shelter Coalition, which plans to raise €14ит to build shelters. Currently, there are over 62,000 shelters in Ukraine, but there is a need for more. In addition, a number of facilities need modernization.

Angelina Jolie at the Cannes Film Festival remembered Ukrainian writer Victoria Amelina. The frontman of the U2 band and director Sean Penn invited Ukrainian military personnel to the premiere of the film in Cannes. Victoriia Amelina was killed on 1 July, 2023 as a result of serious injuries received during the russian missile strike on Kramatorsk on 27 June, 2023.
