On 29 August, the occupiers continued to use aviation, including KABs, and attacked on all fronts, focusing heavily on Pokrovsk. The Ukrainian Defense Forces held their positions and took all necessary measures to prevent a breakthrough.There were 98 engagements on the front line.
The russian army continued using artillery and aviation in the northern regions of Ukraine. russian invaders hit the vicinity of Bratenytsia, Druzhba, Bobylivka, Dmytrivka, Prohres, Studenok, Ponomarenky, and Khrinivka. Airstrikes targeted Vodolahy, Bilopillia, Mykytivka, and Bondarivshchyna. Five airstrikes with 16 KABs were reported. The enemy also bombed their own territory, dropping 16 bombs on Kursk oblast in 11 airstrikes.
Towards Kharkiv, Ukrainian forces repelled two assaults near Vovchansk. One more assault continued in the same vicinity.
Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine attacks near Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, and Lozova. Five more attacks continued near Miasozharivka, Kolisnykivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Lozova.
Towards Lyman, an enemy attack continued near Makiivka. Ukrainian forces repelled 12 enemy assaults near Tverdokhlibove, Cherneshchyna, Druzhelyubivka, Nevske, Torske, and Serebrianka forest.
Towards Siversk, the enemy failed in three attempts to storm Ukrainian positions near Verkhnokamianske and Vyimka. Two engagements continued.
Towards Kramatorsk, near Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Chasiv Yar, the enemy attempted to advance with aviation support. Ukrainian forces repelled four attacks.
Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions nine times with air support. Battles continued near Toretsk and Sukha Balka.
The fiercest fighting took place towards Pokrovsk. The enemy launched 23 assaults in the vicinity of Vozdvyzhenka, Zelenyi Pid, Myrolyubivka, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Karlivka, Marynivka, and Mykhailivka.
Towards Kurakhove, six engagements continued near Krasnohorivka. Ukrainian forces repelled 11 assaults near Heorhiivka and Kostiantynivka.
Towards Vremivka, Ukrainian forces repelled two assaults towards Kostiantynivka. Six enemy attacks continued towards Vuhledar and Vodiane.
Towards Orikhiv, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne.
Towards Kherson, no active enemy actions were observed.
The Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took all necessary measures to hold back the enemy’s advance.
Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin reported that Ukraine investigated the illegal detention of over 14,000 civilians by russia. Over 170 torture sites were discovered.
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported that Ukraine invested over $7b into its defense industry. Investments were made in drones, electronic warfare systems, ground robotic complexes, and the Reserve+ and Army+ programs.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Human Rights Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that 14 children from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts were returned to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine. The youngest child is 2.5 months old, the oldest is 16 years old.
Yuliia Usenko, Head of the Department for the Protection of Children’s Interests of the Prosecutor General’s Office, informed that Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts have the highest number of educational institutions damaged or destroyed as a result of russian aggression since 24 February 2022. Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts have the highest number of war crimes involving children.
On 29 August 2014, one of the first and most terrible tragedies of the russian-Ukrainian war took place, which was the shooting of Ukrainian soldiers as they were leaving Ilovaisk war zone.
In honour of the memory of all those who died, Ukrposhta introduced a charity stamp. Every UAH 5 of the stamp’s value will go to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with Maksym Sutkov, director of branches in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts, a special redemption ceremony was held.
Kharkiv oblast
Fighting in the Kupyansk sector continues near Miasozharivka, Kolisnykivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Lozova. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 4pm, 9 russian attacks have been repelled.
Towards Lyman, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 12 russian attacks since the beginning of the day, specifically near Cherneshchyna and Druzheliubivka.
Towards Kharkiv, a russian attack is being repelled near Vovchansk, and another attack has already been repelled.
The State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast reported that eight houses damaged by shelling, five outbuildings and 25 hectares of dry grass were on fire as a result of a russian hit on Zamulivka in Chuhuiv region. Rescuers prevented the fire from spreading to other houses.

Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported that four people were injured as a result of a russian shelling of Novoozynove at around 4pm. Two women with explosive wounds were hospitalised, while two other people refused to be hospitalised despite their injuries.
At 12:10am, russian aggressors fired on Odnorobivka village using Grad multiple rocket launchers. According to the Regional Military Administration, the strikes damaged two private houses and outbuildings, and the power grid was damaged again after the strikes were restored. There were no casualties.
Yesterday at 10:42am, russians attacked Novoosynove village of Kurylivka community, Kupiansk region. As a result of the shelling, grass burned on an area of 1 hectare.
At 11:25am, russians attacked Sobolivka village of Kupiansk region. As a result of the shelling, coniferous litter burned on an area of 5 hectares.
At 2:46pm, russians attacked Balakliia village of Izium region. As a result of the shelling, 2.5 hectares of grass and garbage burned over an area of 500 sq m.
At 3:35pm, russians attacked Doroshivka village of Kindrashivka community, Kupiansk region. As a result of hostile shelling, private houses and outbuildings were burning. There were no casualties.
At 3:56, russians attacked Kupiansk. As a result of the shelling, grass burned over an area of 300m².
At 4:10pm, russians attacked Kupiansk. As a result of the airstrike, a private house of 80m² was burning, the building of Kupiansk military administration, 5-storey residential buildings, a hotel, a prosecutor’s office and court building, and other civilian infrastructure were damaged. At least 17 people were injured, with many of those hospitalised in light and moderate condition.
At 5:07pm, russians attacked Horiane village of Velykyi Burluk community, Kupiansk region. As a result of the shelling, a warehouse building on the area of 300 square metres and grass on the area of 2.5 hectares were burned.
At 11:40pm, russians attacked Nova Vodolaha village of Kharkiv region. An enemy X-59 missile was used. Grass was burning on an area of 200 sq m.
At 11:50pm, russians attacked Balakliia village of Izium region. As a result of the shelling, grass and firewood were burning over an area of 500 sq m. There were no casualties.
At 11:50pm, russians attacked Prybysh village of Donets community, Izium region. As a result of the shelling, grass burned on the area of 10 hectares.
Towards Kharkiv, russian terrorists unsuccessfully stormed the positions of our troops twice near Vovchansk and Lyptsi.
The enemy attacked our positions 23 times towards Kupiansk. Near Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Stelmakhivka and Kruhliakivka, the Defence Forces repelled 21 attacks. The situation is tense, two combat engagements are ongoing.
Donetsk oblast
Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi spent several days working with brigades in Pokrovsk axis to address issues of strengthening defence.
Andrii Polukhin, a spokesman for the 24th Brigade’s press service, said that information that the russian army controls about 40% of Chasiv Yar is false.
Also russian occupiers hold only one neighbourhood of the town. Fighting continues along the man-made Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal.
Serhii Horbunov, Head of Kostiantynivka RMA, stated that at around 2pm, Kostiantynivka was shelled by artillery. One person was killed and six injured. Also russian troops damaged several apartment buildings and an educational institution. Donetsk Prosecutor’s Office informed that a married couple of 56 and 62 years old were also wounded as a result of artillery shelling of Ukrainsk.
Vadym Liakh, Head of the RMA, reported that the russian army shelled Sloviansk. The city was shelled with cluster munitions.
There is no information on injuries or deaths due to the shelling.
The General Staff said that the russian army became more active towards Kurakhove yesterday. On 28 August, the russian occupiers stormed Ukrainian positions 30 times, compared to 22 attacks yesterday. The number of assaults increased towards Pokrovsk. Yesterday the russian army attacked Ukrainian troops 66 times, compared to 55 attacks the day before. Also russians are concentrating their forces near Hrodivka and Novohrodivka. Towards Toretsk, russian troops concentrated their forces near Nelipivka, and yesterday the occupiers dropped 13 aerial bombs on Ukrainian positions.
The enemy troops attacked 12 settlements. Yesterday police documented 2,195 hostile attacks along the frontline and in the residential sector.
70 civilian objects were destroyed, including 36 residential buildings, a shop, non-residential premises and cars.
The occupiers dropped a KAB bomb with a UMPK module on Izmailivka, destroying a private house. Four people were killed, including a 17-year-old boy, and the bodies of the family were recovered from the rubble.
The enemy shelled Lisivka with artillery, killing a civilian.
In Chasiv Yar, two civilians were injured as a result of a drone strike and a private house was damaged.
The enemy shelled Kostiantynivka with artillery, injuring a man and damaging three apartment buildings, a shop and two cars.

A person was injured and two private houses damaged in Shcherbynivka.
Two civilians were wounded and three private houses damaged in Nikonorivka as a result of shelling.
Also russia struck Myrnohrad with a FAB-500 bomb with an UMPK module, destroying 20 private houses and non-residential buildings.

Dmytro Petlin, Head of the Regional Emergency Service Department, reported that almost 50,000 people were evacuated from Donetsk oblast in August. This is 3.5 times more than in July 2024.
Luhansk oblast
Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, informed that it is extremely dangerous to stay in frontline settlements. Yesterday alone, the enemy made more than 100 attacks there, using artillery and dropping from drones.
They attacked near Bilohorivka, Stelmakhivka, Novoiehorivka, Makiivka and Nevske. But people have not yet decided to evacuate.
There are still a few people in the de-occupied settlements who receive their pensions through Ukrposhta. Whenever the security situation allows, we help them get to the nearest branch in Donetsk oblast. If necessary, we arrange transportation to banking institutions and for those who receive payments on their cards. In particular, this week, four residents of Nevske and Novoliubivka were able to resolve their current issues. Food, medicines and household goods have also been delivered to these villages recently, as requested by local residents.
33 students of Lysychansk community started a 14-day rehabilitation in the Carpathians. The holiday was organised at the expense of the local budget of Lysychansk community.
For personal courage and dedication to the Ukrainian people, seven defenders were awarded the President of Ukraine’s decoration For Defence of Ukraine (posthumously). 18 Heroes from Luhansk oblast and those who sacrificed their lives for the oblast were posthumously awarded the Badge of Honour Defender of Luhansk oblast.
People in the temporarily occupied Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk will spend the third winter in a row without heating. The occupiers have started installing modular boiler rooms instead of centralised heating systems, but they are doing so only in so-called state institutions.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
According to the RMA, the enemy attacked Kyiv oblast with attack drones. As of 9am, no hits to residential or critical infrastructure were recorded. There were no civilian casualties. One private house was damaged by falling debris, and grass fires broke out in three districts.
In the capital, the wreckage of downed drones was recorded in three districts of the city: in Dniprovskyi district, the UAV debris fell on a playground between houses, in Desnianskyi district – on the territory of a private household, and in Holosiivskyi district – damaged windows and doors in a high-rise apartment.
KCMA reported that due to the attack by strike drones, air alert was activated twice in Kyiv. In total, it lasted almost 6 hours. The air defence forces shot down about a dozen russian drones.
Ukrhydroenerho CEO Ihor Syrota stated that the threat of flooding or dam breach at Kyiv hydroelectric power station is absent. According to him, the debris from the russian missile strike is being cleared. So far, it is impossible to assess all the technical consequences and the time required to restore Kyiv hydroelectric power plant after the russian missile strike on 26 August.
Due to the difficult situation in the power grid, Ukrenerho issued an order to introduce emergency power cuts in the capital and Kyiv oblast on 29 August.
Tactical exercises were held in Kyiv oblast to train rescuers to work together in emergency response and rescue. Rescuers from Kyiv oblast and specialists from Mobile Rescue Centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine shared their experience and skills in eliminating large-scale fires, searching for victims in destroyed buildings, and practising joint actions to provide medical and psychological assistance.
Kyiv City Military Administration reported that on the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders who died for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, memorial monuments to the fallen Kyiv soldiers were installed at the Berkovetske and Lisove cemeteries in Kyiv. It was noted that 738 defenders are buried in the Berkovetske cemetery, and 1,092 fallen Kyiv soldiers are buried in the Forest cemetery.
The process of de-russification continues in the capital. Kyiv City Council has renamed 7 more streets and lanes with names associated with russia and the Soviet past. They will be named after fallen Ukrainian defence heroes.
On the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day, French artist Kolomina installed a series of five works on the streets. His recognisable red works appeared on the wall of the Main Post Office, on the site of the former monument to Shchors on Shevchenko Boulevard, near the Heavenly Hundred Heroes Alley, on the building of the University metro station, and on Maidan Nezalezhnosti.
Zhytomyr oblast
Due to a shortage of electricity caused by russian shelling on 26 August, public transport in Zhytomyr has been out of action for three days. Backup municipal and private buses are running on some routes. Trolleybuses and trams are expected to resume running on weekends.
A meeting was held in Zhytomyr Regional State Administration with the management of the Lumos Foundation. The discussion covered the implementation of social projects in Zhytomyr oblast to protect, educate and support the psychological health of children and families of internally displaced persons.
Zhytomyr hosted the grand opening and consecration of the Heroes’ Alley, dedicated to the memory of those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
In Zhytomyr oblast, Ukrposhta presented a charity stamp called Minute of Silence on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders. The special cancellation took place at the regional military administration.
The President’s Office reported that in Zhytomyr oblast, Olha Budnyk, Advisor to the Presidential Commissioner for the Presidential Foundation for Support of Education, Science and Sports, presented the interim results of a project to create a safe educational environment.
Sumy oblast
Yurii Zarko, Head of Bilopollia, reported that around 4am, the russian army shelled Bilopillia with 4 strikes. The enemy shelling continued after 10am with 5-6 more hits on the outskirts of the city and near a hospital. A road and an agricultural enterprise were damaged. There were no casualties or injuries.
During night and morning, russians carried out 19 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 63 explosions. The attacks targeted Bilopollia, Esman, Khotin, Hlukhiv, Druzhbivka, Shalyhyne, Mykolaivka, Svesa, Velyka Pysarivka, Krasnopillia, Nova Slobidka communities.
On 28 August, russians carried out 66 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 220 explosions. The attacks targeted Velyka Pysarivka, Yunakiv, Khotin, Mykolaivka, Bilopollia, Berezivka, Esman, Hlukhiv, Seredyna-Buda, Krasnopillia, Nova Slobidka, Druzhbivka, Znob-Novhorod communities.
Krasnopollia community: russians attacked by artillery (25 explosions), carried out mortar shelling (11 explosions), an explosive device was dropped from a UAV (2 explosions).
Esman community: the enemy carried out (4 explosions), fired by mortar (9 explosions), carried out tank fire (10 explosions), attacked with FPV-drones (11 explosions).
Mykolaivka community: as a result of a rocket attack (3 explosions), four civilians were injured.
Berezivka community: launch of air bombs by KABs (6 explosions).
Bilopollia community: the enemy carried out an airstrike (13 explosions), fired mortars (4 explosions), artillery (12 explosions), and an FPV drone (1 explosion).
Velyka Pysarivka community: artillery shelling (35 explosions), mortar shelling (11 explosions), the enemy also attacked with FPV drones (6 explosions), explosive devices were dropped from a UAV (2 explosions).
Hlukhiv community: barrel artillery attacks (36 explosions).
Yunakivka community: the russians launched a KAB aerial bomb (1 explosion).
Khotyn community: launched air bombs by KAB (3 explosions).
Nova Slobidka community: mortar shelling (4 explosions).
Seredino-Buda community: an attack by FPV drones (4 explosions) and mortar fire (3 explosions).
Druzhbivka community: a hit by an FPV drone (2 explosions).
Znob-Novhorod community: mortar shelling (3 explosions).
The Ministry of Energy informed that as a result of artillery shelling from the russian territory in Sumy oblast, four settlements lost electricity, affecting 429 consumers. Due to technical disruptions, an additional 694 consumers in 11 settlements are also without electricity. Overall, more than 8,000 subscribers in 110 settlements are without power, with 7,600 of them affected due to ongoing hostilities..
The State Agency for Water Management and Fisheries Development reported that russian forces have contaminated the water in the Saim River within Sumy oblast. By discharging waste of unknown substances into the river, russian terrorists caused widespread contamination within Sumy oblast and reached Chernihiv oblast, where black water, a stench of rot and ammonia, and dead fish have been observed near the town of Baturyn.
Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross have evacuated people with limited mobility from the village of Svessa. russian military forces have been bombarding the village daily with guided aerial bombs and missiles. Between 19 and 27 August, two civilians were killed, and five others were injured in the settlement.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Oblast Police reported that on 29 August, russian forces attacked a civilian vehicle with a drone in Novhorod-Siverskyi region of Chernihiv oblast. The driver, a 56-year-old local resident, was delivering food and bread to residents of a remote border village. As a result of the explosion, the man suffered a concussion, and his vehicle sustained significant damage.
On 28 August, russian forces shelled seven border villages in Chernihiv oblast, located in Semenivka and Snovsk communities. There were nearly 30 explosions.
Semenivka community: 16 explosions (likely by artillery, 120mm mortars, an explosive device dropped from a UAV, and an FPV drone strike) towards Orlykivka, Liskivshchyna, Medvedivka, Mykolaivka, Yanzhulivka, and Zarichchia.
Snovsk community: 13 explosions (likely by 120mm mortars, artillery, and multiple rocket launchers) towards Khrinivka.
No casualties or injuries among the local population were reported as a result of the shelling.
In Chernihiv, at 9am, a ceremony was held to commemorate Ukrainian Defenders’ Memorial Day who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Families of fallen soldiers, military personnel, police officers, government representatives, and local residents gathered at the memorial stele dedicated to the fallen participants of the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation (ATO/JFO).
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, said that on the night of 29 August, 5 enemy Shaheds were shot down over the oblast. The russian army attacked Nikopol region again. In the evening, they shelled the region centre with artillery, used kamikaze drones and shelled Marhanets community with Grad rockets. In Nikopol, a lyceum, a post office, a religious institution, a kiosk, 7 cars, and 2 power lines were damaged. In the morning, the occupiers attacked the district centre with drones.
In Nikopol, a 42-year-old woman was killed by enemy shelling. Six residents were injured – women aged 19 and 59, men aged 30, 60, 67 and 74. Several fires broke out, damaging 8 multi-storey buildings, a shopping centre, an out-of-school education institution, 13 private houses, several outbuildings, cars, gas pipelines and infrastructure. Also on 29 August, the Ukrainian military destroyed an enemy reconnaissance drone.
Vinnytsia oblast
On the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine, residents of Vinnytsia paid tribute to the defenders and laid flowers at the memorial to the Heavenly Hundred and the fallen heroes of the russian-Ukrainian war.

Serhii Morhunov, Mayor of Vinnytsia, announced that another 250 FPVs were delivered to two brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Vinnytsia oblast. The FPVs will be sent to the hottest spots on the frontline.
A rally to mark the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine took place in Vinnytsia. More than 100 vehicles with relatives, friends and friends of the fallen defenders, as well as city residents, took part in the rally.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, reported that during a morning air raid, an enemy drone was shot down over Oleksandriya region.
Kropyvnytskyi coffee shops have joined the all-Ukrainian event “Table of Remembrance”. It is held on 29 August, the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders. The cafes and restaurants that participate set up a table and put up plaques with information about the fallen soldiers.
Poltava oblast
The Heroes’ Alley was opened in Tereshkivka community in Poltava oblast on 29 August, the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine. 16 stands with portraits of soldiers who fell in the russian-Ukrainian war were placed in the yard of the village council.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that Cherkasy oblast suffered another enemy attack on 29 August. The Air Armed Forces destroyed a total of eight Shaheds within the oblast. The occupants hit the territory of a private enterprise in the regional centre.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
On 28 August, russian forces launched 252 attacks by various types of weapons on 13 cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. These strikes resulted in the destruction of 18 houses and infrastructure facilities.
The occupiers carried out an airstrike on Stepove. Huliaipole and Novodanylivka were shelled 5 times by MLRS. Artillery fire hit Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Olhivske, Zelenyi Hai and Pryluky, with a total of 118 strikes.
The enemy also continued massive drone attacks. 128 drones attacked Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Olhivske.
The occupiers also struck Khortytsia Nature Reserve. The attack occurred during a massive missile and drone strike on the night of 27 August, when the enemy used 7 drones to attack Zaporizhzhia. The consequences were significant for the natural reserve, with a fire breaking out on a 1.5 hectare area, leading to the destruction of part of the unique flora that had developed over many years. Besides the direct damage from the fire, the area was also contaminated with debris and remnants of explosive devices.
Mykolaiv oblast
On 28 August, russian forces struck Kutsurub and Ochakiv communities in Mykolaiv oblast, but there were no casualties reported. According to the RMA, Ochakiv and the waters of Ochakiv community were subjected to artillery shelling. There were no casualties reported.
As a result of the shelling in Solonchaky village, 2 residential buildings were damaged and dry grass caught fire. The fire was promptly extinguished by firefighters. There were no injuries reported.
Odesa oblast
The Naval Forces of Ukraine reported that in the central park of culture and recreation named after Taras Shevchenko in Odesa, a ceremonial opening of Alley of Heroes of Odesa took place. The memory of the fallen was honoured, including by naval personnel. Currently, over 200 names are listed there.
According to the press centre of the South Air Command, on the morning of 29 August, a ballistic missile, likely an Iskander-M, was launched from Crimea, targeting Odesa. There were reports of a threat to a settlement in the oblast, but no casualties were reported.
Kherson oblast
On 28 August, russian forces attacked Kherson, Antonivka, Bilozirka, Blahovishchenske, Havrylivka, Dudchany, Dniprovske, Prydniprovske, Novodmytrivka, Stanislav, Sadove, Shyroka Balka, Shliakhove, Kizomys, Shestakove and Osokorivka in Kherson oblast. Due to the russian aggression, 5 people were injured.
russian forces struck a gas station, damaging an apartment building, 10 private houses, a gas pipeline and private vehicles.
According to Roman Mrochko, Head of Kherson RMA, occupation forces shelled Kherson oblast 11 times.
On 28 August, around 6:30pm, russian forces attacked Shyroka Balka in Kherson oblast by an FPV drone, wounding a resident.
Also, russian forces attacked a residential building in Havrylivka by drones, resulting in 2 apartments burning down.
In the central part of Kherson, a residential building was damaged, trapping an elderly woman inside. In Dniprovskyi district of Kherson, a 55-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman were injured by explosive devices dropped from russian drones.
Around 11am, russian forces dropped an explosive device from a drone onto a civilian car in Kherson. As a result, a 34-year-old woman suffered explosive trauma and a concussion. She received medical assistance.

Volyn oblast
Lutsk community sent a DJI Mavic 3 Pro 1 quadcopter to the 1st Mechanised Company of the 42nd Separate Mechanised Brigade thanks to budget funds.
Zakarpattia oblast
The RMA reported that the oblast will receive UAH 1b from the EU to implement infrastructure projects.
The American humanitarian organisation, Ukraine Focus, and famous American astronaut Terry Wirts visited the construction site of the 4.5.0. Recovery Center. Ukraine Focus actively supports the Ukrainian medical sector. In two years, the organisation has already purchased and sent to the front line over 222 ambulances.
Representatives of local self-government bodies of Zakarpattia oblast went to the Czech region of Vysochyna. Czech partners will deliver aid to the oblast.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Representatives of Ivano-Frankivsk Council went to Kharkiv oblast to deliver FPV-drones to the 153th Separate Mechanised Brigades which was awarded For Honor and Valor awards.
Lviv oblast
In Lviv oblast, a social rehabilitation program for servicemen was launched to help those returning from the front to integrate into peaceful life after completing medical rehabilitation. For this purpose, the regional budget allocated UAH 8m to fund the program this year.
Andrii Sadovyi, Mayor of Lviv, and Christian Schuchardt, Mayor of Wurzburg (Germany) laid a time capsule at the construction site of the Unbroken Mental Health Center. This is the 2nd such centre to be operateing in Lviv. In just a few months, it will open its doors to defenders and all Ukrainians who suffered from russian aggression.
3 defenders from Zolochiv region were awarded high state awards. Chief Sergeant Yurii Korman was awarded with the III degree For Courage Order. Chief Sergeant Andrii Mykula and Master Sergeant Mykola Melnyk were awarded with the For Military Service to Ukraine medals.
On the facade of Dmytrovytskyi gymnasium, a memorial plaque was installed to Ihor Mykhaliuk, junior sergeant, gunner – paramedic of the 1st Marine Corps Unit. He was killed in battle on 26 July 2022 near the settlement of Velika Novosilka, Donetsk oblast. The President of Ukraine awarded the soldier with the III degree For Courage Order (posthumously).
Rivne oblast
The police received an anonymous report about the mining of the building of Rivne RMA and the Regional Council. According to the protocol, employees were evacuated. Special services conducted an inspection of the premises. No explosive devices were found.
Sergeant Mykola Kotyash, 46-year-old Commander of the Mechanised Unit, received the highest award of the oblast – Glory of Rivne Oblast. He is from Dubrovych region and participated in the liberation of settlements in Donetsk oblast. He led military operations in Zaporizhzhia oblast as well. He was wounded during the defence of Kharkiv oblast in February 2023. From the beginning of June of the same year, he fought in Kupiansk region. The Glory of Rivne award was launched in August 2022. And this is the 5th distinction since its inception.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil community sent radio electronic warfare (EW) installations and an anti-drone gun to one of the military units established inTernopil. The equipment was produced within the framework of the Competition for innovative projects in the field of national security, which was held at the initiative of Ternopil City Council.
The RMA reported that fallen police officers were posthumously awarded with the For the Defense of Ukraine awards.
Ternopil received generators, a car and other necessary things from the Swedish city of Ronneby. After inspection, the car will go to the front line, and the generators will be used to at critical infrastructure facilities in Ternopil.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi community sent 20 quadcopters to the military, namely 10 DJI Mavic 3E quadcopters, 10 DJI Mavic 3T Thermal quadcopters with a thermal imager thanks to the budget funds.
Chernivtsi oblast
Senior master sergeant Andrii Kostin, sergeant Roman Hrubyi and sergeant Yurii Nikula were awarded with the III degree Order of Courage and the For the Defense of Ukraine award by the President of Ukraine. Awards were received by family members of the military.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania reported that they sent a new aid package, including forklifts, anti-drone systems and folding beds, to the Ukrainian military. The aid arrived in Ukraine on 28 August. Lithuania has already provided military aid in the amount of over €647m. Its overall support to Ukraine has exceeded €1bn.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine received 1,170 women’s bulletproof vests from the Global Fund for Security Sector Reform. Body armour with ballistic plates will be sent to the State Border Service, the State Emergency Service, the National Guard and the National Police of Ukraine. Thanks to special additional elements in the design, the body armour will not cause discomfort and ensure maximum protection for serving women.
Olaf Scholz, German Chancellor, announced that the draft German budget for 2025 provides €4bn for military support to Ukraine.
Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, stated that NATO countries will increase aid to Ukraine against the backdrop of recent massive russian shelling.
