It has been the 1341st day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The invaders continue to storm the positions of the Ukrainian defenders. On 26 October, there were 71 combat clashes.

Border settlements are suffering from artillery shelling from the territory of the russian federation, in particular, Bila Bereza, Chernatske, Chuikivka, Malushyne, Brusky, Shalyhyne in Sumy oblast; Yasna Poliana, Arkhipovka, Lohy in Chernihiv oblast.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, one enemy attack was repelled by the Ukrainian defenders. The enemy also carried out one air strike, dropped four guided aerial bombs, and carried out 74 attacks, including one from a multiple launch rocket system.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy attacked the positions of the Ukrainian defenders four times near Vovchansk, Stroivka, Bolohivka and Dvorichanske. Four combat clashes are ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks in the vicinity of the settlements of Pishchane and Petropavlivka.

Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked eight times near the settlements of Karpivka, Seredne, Derylove, Torske. The defense forces successfully stopped seven enemy attempts to advance, one combat clash is ongoing.

Towards Slaviansk, the enemy tried to break through five times in the vicinity of Vyimka, Pereizne, and Fedorivka. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled all enemy attacks.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.

Towards Kostiantynivka, the invader attacked nine times in the vicinity of Shcherbynivka, Kleban-Byk, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and Pleshchiivka. Three combat clashes are ongoing so far.

Towards Pokrovsk, the invaders have made 17 attempts to push the Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of the settlements of Ivanivka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka. Six combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy attacked seven times near the settlements of Sosnivka, Stepove, Oleksandrivka, Pavlivka, Novohryhorivka and Rybne. Three combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Huliaipole, Ukrainian defenders stopped two enemy attempts to advance near the settlements of Mlynivka and Zelenyi Hai. The settlements of Solodke, Rivnopilia, Zaliznychne and Nechaivka were subjected to air strikes.

Towards Orikhiv, the Defense Forces successfully repelled four enemy attacks near the settlements of Novoandriivka, Stepove, and Stepnohirsk. In addition, the enemy launched airstrikes on the settlements of Stepnohirsk, Veselianka, and Novoiakovlivka.

There were no significant changes in the situation in other directions of the front.


Mayor Vitalii Klytschko reports that as a result of the russian attack, on the night of October 26, 3 people were killed in Kyiv. Another 33 people were injured to varying degrees.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports that within a week, russia launched almost 1,200 strike drones, more than 1,360 guided aerial bombs and more than 50 missiles of various types on the territory of Ukraine.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline

On 26 October, there were 181 combat clashes in the oblast.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy tried 11 times to break through Ukrainian defensive lines in the vicinity of ​​Vovchansk, Krasne Pershe, Stroivka and towards Bolohivka, Kolodiazne and Dvorichanske.

Towards Kupiansk, there were 8 enemy attacks. Ukrainian defenders repelled the enemy’s assault actions towards Pishchane and Bohuslavka.

Shelling

Over the past 24 hours, the city of Kharkiv and 5 settlements of Kharkiv oblast were subjected to enemy strikes. As a result of the shelling, one person was killed, 7 people injured, including two children.

In the city of Kharkiv, a 25-year-old man, women aged 51 and 68, and 13-year-old and 15-year-old boys were injured; in the village of Kivsharivka of Kupiansk community, a 23-year-old man was killed; in the village of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, a 64-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man were injured.

A 48-year-old woman who was injured as a result of shelling in Kharkiv on October 22 also sought medical help.

The enemy attacked 3 UAVs in Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts of Kharkiv.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons:

▪️7 UAVs of the Geran-2 type;

▪️1 UAV of the Molniya type;

▪️2 FPV drones.

Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:

▪️in the city of Kharkiv, a private house, an apartment building, and a dormitory were damaged;

▪️In Lozova region, energy infrastructure was damaged (Lozova), 7 private houses (Bashylivka village);

▪️In Kupiansk district, a private house was damaged (Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi village);

▪️In Izium district, railway infrastructure was damaged (Barvinkove city);

The transit evacuation point in Lozova accepted 188 people during the day. 69 people remained. A total of 9,343 people have been registered at the point since the start of work.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that the russian army attacked the positions of the Defense Forces towards Pokrovsk 76 times. russian troops stormed, in particular, near Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Maiak, Novoekonomichne, Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne and Novomykolaivka.

TowardsKostiantynivka, the russian army conducted more than 20 attacks, more than 10 battles were near Lyman.

Three russian army vehicles got stuck in a swamp, and the landing force climbed straight into the water, in Volodymyrivka during an attempt to storm Ukrainian positions. In addition to the equipment, the russian troops lost seven fighters.

The RMA reports that at 5:40, the russian army attacked Sloviansk with a Molniya drone. Windows were broken in one of the high-rise buildings in the city center.

Four people were killed and one was injured as a result of russian attacks in the oblast. On October 25, the police recorded 2,116 shelling attacks along the front line and residential areas. 8 settlements were under fire: Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Siversk, Komyshuvakha, Malotaranivka, Oleksievo-Druzhkivka, and Spasko-Mykhailivka.

russians hit Kostiantynivka with GAB-250 bombs, MLRSs, drones, artillery – three civilians were killed, another person injured. 2 apartment buildings and 12 private houses were damaged.

One person was killed in Siversk as a result of being hit by an artillery shell, and a private house was damaged.

In Kramatorsk, a critical infrastructure facility was damaged, in Druzhkivka and Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka – one civilian car each.

In Malotaranivka, a Molniya-2 UAV hit an enterprise, in Komyshuvakha, an FPV drone damaged a private house.

In addition, information has been established about two wounded civilians in Lyman, who were injured during the shelling on October 24.

Ukrzaliznytsia has canceled three suburban train services in Donetsk oblast for Sunday, October 26. Due to “increased danger,” trains to Kramatorsk and Sloviansk will not run. Two more trains, in particular, from Kramatorsk to Kharkiv, will alternatively depart from the Husarivka station in Kharkiv oblast.

Luhansk oblast

The RMA reports that the enemy carried out 16 assault operations towards Lyman and Sloviansk, in particular in the vicinity of ​​the settlement of Hrekivka. In total, russian troops tried to advance near ten settlements, using barrel artillery and unmanned attack systems. 

In the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk oblast, the program of the so-called “restoration” of destroyed cities continues to fail. Despite the patronage of the kremlin-controlled Tatarstan region, in Lysychansk, instead of real reconstruction of high-rise buildings, only limited building materials were transferred – 500 OSB boards and several rolls of film for temporary closing of windows. A similar situation is observed in Rubizhne, where contractors left two objects without completing the work, dismantling the roofs from five-story buildings. As a result, residential premises have remained flooded due to precipitation for three weeks.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On the night of October 26, russian forces attacked Kyiv with drones. Three people were killed, including a mother and her 19-year-old daughter. Thirty-three people were injured, eight of whom — including three children — were hospitalized by medics.

In Obolonskyi district, drone fragments fell on a 16-story residential building. An  apartment was damaged. There was no fire or structural destruction.

In Desnianskyi district, debris struck a 9-story residential building on the 2nd floor. A fire started in several apartments and spread to balconies from the 4th to the 7th floors. It has been extinguished. Windows and doors were damaged in another 9-story building nearby. The facade and floors between the 6th and 8th stories partially damaged. Five people rescued. Debris removal work is ongoing. In the same area, a kindergarten was damaged — more than 70 windows were blown out, as well as window and door frames in multiple rooms.

In Darnytskyi district, a private residential area was affected, with at least one car damaged.

The State Emergency Service reported that a total of 289 specialists and 66 units of equipment are continuously working on the aftermath of the russian strikes in Kyiv.

According to the SES, as of 4:00 p.m., rescuers completed operations in Desnianskyi district, and cleanup work at two other sites damaged during the October 25 attacks.

On October 27, Kyiv will bid farewell to two FreeDom journalists killed by russian forces — correspondent Olena Hubanova (Aliona Hramova) and cameraman Yevhen Karmazin, who were killed in Kramatorsk by a russian drone attack. The farewell ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Cathedral.

Kyiv City Administration (KMDA) reported that since 2022 the capital has allocated ₴41 million worth of reserve materials to restore buildings damaged by enemy attacks — including residential houses, kindergartens, hospitals, and civil registry offices. In October 2025 alone, Kyiv Rescue Service (KARS) conducted 20 emergency repair missions in damaged residential buildings.

On October 25, families of civilians illegally held in russian captivity gathered at Kontraktova Square for a rally called “Autumn of Captivity.” Participants held photos of their relatives and close ones, aiming to draw attention from human rights organizations, authorities, and the international community to the civilian hostages held by russia.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr Regional Blood Center reported that in Zhytomyr oblast a mobile team from the Regional Blood Center visited 53 communities, carrying out 85 field trips. The most active donors came from Korosten, Chyzhivka, Ushomyr, Malyn, and Liubar communities. Residents of these areas showed exceptional engagement in blood donation this year, setting a record number of donations.

On October 25, an event in support of Ukrainian defenders held captive or missing in action took place at Korolyov Square in Zhytomyr. Participants staged a performance, held a march through the city streets with banners and slogans, and concluded with a collective panoramic photo. The event gathered around one hundred people.

Sumy oblast

The National Police of Sumy oblast reported that on October 26, a russian drone struck a passenger bus traveling along the Sumy–Shostka route. A 69-year-old man, who had been injured in the attack, died in the hospital. The strike occurred near Postolne village.

In total, 13 people were wounded in the attack, including two children — an 8-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl. According to Oleg Hryhorov, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, that section of road lies within a high-risk zone repeatedly targeted by drones. He noted that safer alternative routes have been identified and shared with transport operators.

Also on October 26, russian forces targeted a civilian delivery truck on the outskirts of Bilopillia community. A 36-year-old driver, who was transporting food, was injured but received medical aid on site.

Serhii Kryvosheenko, Major of Sumy, said that around 2:20pm., a russian drone hit the roof of an apartment building in Zarichnyi district of Sumy. A 44-year-old woman nearby suffered acute stress reaction but was not physically injured.

Between the morning of October 25 and the morning of October 26, 2025, russian forces launched 64 attacks on 31 settlements across 14 territorial communities in Sumy oblast. The heaviest shelling occurred in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used guided aerial bombs (over 10 strikes), UAVs (over 10), MLRS (10), grenade drops from drones (up to 10), and FPV drones. The oblast spent 20 hours and 57 minutes under air raid alerts.

Damage to civilian infrastructure included:

  • In Nova Slobidska community, a private residential house was damaged;
  • In Krasnopillia community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
  • In Popivska community, an administrative building, civilian facilities, apartment blocks, and private homes was damaged;
  • In Bilopillia community, a non-residential facility and a civilian infrastructure site were damaged.

During the day, local authorities, together with the State Emergency Service, National Police, and community organizations, evacuated two people from border areas.

Chernihiv oblast

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of the RMA, reported that around 4:45am., russian forces attacked a critical infrastructure facility in Novhorod-Siverskyi. Two strike drones hit the administrative building of the enterprise, causing a fire.

Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, Head of Chernihiv City Military Administration, said that at same night, russian troops attacked an industrial facility in Chernihiv by drones. A car caught fire after drone debris fell on the territory, but no casualties were reported.

Ukrzaliznytsia announced that due to the heightened security threat, several train services in Chernihiv oblast will be temporarily suspended on October 27.

According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, throughout October 25, russian troops attacked two border communities — Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka. The enemy conducted mortar shelling (1 explosion), FPV-drone strikes (5 explosions), and dropped an explosive device from a drone (1 explosion). Six villages came under enemy fire.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, reported that air defenders shot down 18 russian drones.

In Nikopol region, there were about 15 attacks. The enemy struck Nikopol, Marhanets, Myrove, and Pokrovske communities, using drones and artillery. A 63-year-old woman was injured. A utility building, three private houses, a gas pipeline, and power lines were damaged.

In Synelnykove region, the occupiers launched guided aerial bombs (GABs) and MLRS attacks on Pokrovske community, causing fires. A private house was destroyed, and four others, three cars, a gas pipeline, and infrastructure were damaged.

In Nikopol region (further attacks), over 35 strikes targeted Nikopol, Myrove, Marhanets, and Pokrovske communities. Drones and artillery hit a multi-storey building, gymnasium, shop, enterprises, a private house, a garage, and local infrastructure.

In Kryvyi Rih, a 24-year-old man was injured in an enemy drone attack; he will be treated at home. A local enterprise was damaged.
In Hrushivka community, the occupiers also struck with a drone.

Vinnytsia oblast

In Vinnytsia, the map of Points of Invincibility is being updated. This year, the community — including its starosta districts — has established five additional resilience centres.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, a rally was held in support of Ukrainian soldiers who are in captivity or listed as missing. More than a hundred people gathered in the city square to show solidarity.

Cherkasy oblast

According to Ihor Taburets, Head of the Regional Military Administration, in Cherkasy oblast, Ukrainian air defenders shot down eight russian drones overnight.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the State Emergency Service of Zaporizhzhia oblast, in Orikhiv, Polohy region, a fire broke out as a result of russian shelling. Outbuildings and firewood caught fire, with the blaze covering 80 sq.m. There were no casualties reported.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on 25 October, the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled 10 russian attacks in Huliaipole and Orikhiv regions. In particular, russian troops carried out assaults near Stepove, Kamianske, Stepnohirsk, toward Novoandriivka and in the area of Malynivka.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, stated that a 63-year-old man was killed and another person sustained a concussion as a result of a russian air strike on Rivnopillia village, Huliaipole community. The russian military attacked the settlement by guided aerial bombs.

On 25 October, russian forces launched 663 strikes on 16 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. In particular, 414 drones of various types (mostly FPV drones) attacked Yurivka, Stepnohirsk, Plavni, Stepove, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Chervone and Malynivka.

The Institute for the Study of War reported that the russian military continued its assaults in Orikhiv and Huliaipole regions throughout 24-25 October, but no territorial gains were recorded.

Dmytro Orlov, Mayor of Enerhodar, said that russian forces are currently holding 31 civilian residents of the occupied Enerhodar in captivity. Among them, 19 have already been sentenced by occupation “courts”, 4 are awaiting “trial” and 8 civilians have been missing for several years.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv RMA, reported that in the morning, increased activity of russian tactical aviation was observed over Mykolaiv oblast.

Referring to Mykolaiv RMA, on 25 October, russian troops launched 5 FPV drone attacks on Ochakiv community. There were no casualties reported.

Odesa oblast

Based on the information provided by Odesa RMA, during the night of 26 October, an air raid alert was in effect in Odesa oblast, but no facilities were damaged.

Kherson oblast

According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, russian forces shelled Dniprovskyi district of Kherson, wounding a 77-year-old woman who suffered a blast injury and facial wounds.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, stated that at night, Ukrainian air defence units shot down a russian Shahed-131/136 drone over Kherson oblast.

On 24 October, russian troops shelled 31 settlements in the oblast. 3 people were injured and damage was reported to 4 high-rise buildings, 4 private houses, an administrative building and an industrial facility.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

In Volodymyr, people took part in a peaceful rally and a motorcade in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war and missing defenders. Dozens of cars and motorcycles with blue and yellow banners drove through the city’s central streets. Passersby stopped along the way to support the action.

Zakarpattia oblast

Rakhiv City Council reported that in the community, over the past three days, memorial plaques have been unveiled to nine fellow countrymen, soldiers who gave their lives defending the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

This year’s charity auction was held in support of two formations – the 102nd Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces and the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade Edelweis. Over UAH 5.6m was raised during the event.

Lviv oblast

Volunteers from Great Britain, EU countries and the US have again arrived in Lviv oblast to support Ukrainian soldiers. They handed over 36 cars to the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Along with them, they provided humanitarian and medical aid for residents of frontline towns and villages.

The 6th All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation on the topic Speech, Speech, Therapy: An Interdisciplinary Approach was held in Lviv oblast. The event brought together specialists from all over Ukraine around modern approaches to speech therapy, inclusion, and the development of communication skills.

In the city of Khodoriv, the Vizerunky folk amateur trio band together with the community raised almost UAH 30,000. All funds will be donated to the needs of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that during 9 shifts at the Artek international center, located near Kyiv, 319 children from Rivne oblast have already rested.

Ternopil oblast

Senior Lieutenant Mykola Hrinchuk, call sign Wolverine, Commander of the Fire Support Company of the Safari Assault Regiment of the Lyut joint assault brigade, received a certificate for an apartment from Ternopil City Council. Together with his comrades, he participated in the fierce battles for Toretsk.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The title Honorary Citizen was awarded to 75 soldiers posthumously. The awards were presented to the families of the Heroes. The title also includes a payment of 20 minimum salaries.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that 392 beds (315 for adults, 77 for children) have been deployed in the oblast’s healthcare facilities, which have contracted inpatient rehabilitation services.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Jonas Gahr Store, Norwegian Prime Minister, announced that Norway has allocated an additional energy aid package of about $150m for gas purchases in the winter.

The Lithuanian government has terminated the agreement with the russian federation on mutual travel of citizens.
