On the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster, the stories of residents of Vilcha in Kharkiv oblast were recalled, who became displaced for the second time: the first time after the Chornobyl accident, and the second time due to the russian invasion. The settlement near Vovchansk was built in the 1990s for those evacuated from the Chornobyl-area Vilcha in Kyiv oblast; however, after the occupation in 2022 and the repeated Russian offensive in May 2024, people were forced to flee again. Currently, Vilcha is almost destroyed and stands on the front line, and its residents have lost the homes they spent decades building for a second time.
