The total number of combat engagements along the entire frontline has increased to 128.
The occupiers continue to use aviation, in particular, dropping drones. The defence forces are holding the line and taking the necessary measures to prevent a breakthrough.
The invaders do not stop using artillery on the territories of the regions bordering the enemy. The areas of Baranovka, Zarichne, Progress, Stepok, Hirky in Sumy oblast and Kostobobriv in Chernihiv oblast were shelled by the enemy.
Towards Kharkiv, there was one combat engagement with russian invaders in the area of Vovchansk.
Five assault actions were recorded near Dvorichna, Pishchane, Kolisnykivka and Lozova towards Kupiansk, three of these clashes are still ongoing.
Towards Lyman, the enemy is attacking near Novoiehorivka, Kopanky, Zelenyi Hai, Makiivka, Terny, Yampolivka, Serebrianka forest and Druzheliubivka. In total, 19 combat engagements have taken place in this sector since the beginning of the day, three of them are ongoing.
Towards Siversk, our troops repelled one enemy attack near Bilohorivka.
Towards Kramatorsk, Ukrainian defence forces repelled four enemy attempts to advance near Stupochki, and one firefight is currently ongoing.
Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked Ukrainian troops’ positions six times near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. Three firefights are still ongoing.
Towards Pokrovsk, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 35 times today in the areas of Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Miroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachanske, Pokrovsk, Novyi Trud, Zelene and Novotroitske, seven of the engagements are ongoing.
Towards Kurakhove, our defenders repelled 14 attacks near Petropavlivka, Slovianka, Yasenove, Kurakhove and Dachne. Seven enemy attacks have already been repelled by our defenders, and seven more battles are underway.
Towards Vremivka, 17 enemy attacks near Kostiantynopilske, Yantarne, Kostiantynopol, Rozlyv, Velyka Novosilka, Novosilka, Blahodatne and Vremivka have been stopped, and eight more attacks are still ongoing.
Towards Orikhivs, our defenders successfully repelled two enemy attempts to advance towards Novodanylivka.
Sixteen combat engagements were registered towards Kursk, eight of them are still ongoing. Moreover, the enemy made 266 artillery attacks.
The enemy has not conducted any active hostilities towards Huliaipole and Kherson.
The Ministry of Defence reported that more than 142,000 sq km of Ukraine’s territory are contaminated with explosive ordnance. This includes 128,000 sq km of land and 14,000 sq km of water.
Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov informed that the Ministry of Defence is testing new models of camouflage and winter suits for the Armed Forces. The task is to provide the Armed Forces with reliable and modern uniforms and equipment that will meet the real needs of the army. The tests are a key stage in this process, as they will allow us to assess whether the new items meet the requirements of reliability and ease of use.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
The General Staff reported that towards Kharkiv, there was one firefight with russian troops in the area of Vovchansk.
Towards Kupiansk , russians attacked the Ukrainian defence forces five times in the areas of Dvorichna, Pishchane, Kolisnykivka and Lozova. Three firefights are ongoing as of 4pm.
At 9:30am, a 53-year-old woman was killed in Novoosynove village of Kurylivka community as a result of an enemy mortar attack.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, at around 6:50am, russia attacked Slobozhanske, Chuhuiv region, with a drone strike, damaging a civilian enterprise
From 6 to 6:29am, the enemy launched massive attacks on Kharkiv. The hits were recorded in Saltivskyi, Kyivskyi and Nemyshlianskyi districts. At least six people were injured. Several fires broke out in non-residential buildings.
The enemy launched at least 12 rocket attacks on industrial facilities and critical infrastructure in Kharkiv. There are currently 500,000 customers without electricity in Kharkiv and part of the oblast. The city also has a problem with heat and water supply – about 520,000 customers are without these services. There is no heat in 2677 buildings.
An unexploded enemy X-59 missile was found in Kharkiv. The missile landed in a private yard.
At 7pm, Vyshneva village of Izium regionw as under russian attack. A UAV hit damaged 3 houses and outbuildings.
At 3:45pm, Kupiansk was hit. An FPV drone hit the road surface.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy unsuccessfully stormed the positions of our units five times near Vovchansk and Vysoka Yaruha.
Towards Kupiansk, the aggressor conducted offensive actions near Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove and Lozova. Ukrainian defenders stopped 15 enemy attacks, eight more are still ongoing.
As a result of intensified evacuation measures, 46 people (including two children) were evacuated from Kupiansk and Borova directions.
Donetsk oblast
Police documented 2,770 hostile attacks on the frontline and residential areas. Lyman, Pokrovsk, Udachne and Horikhove were under attack. 9 civilian objects were damaged, including 6 residential buildings.

Russians shelled Udachne with artillery, killing a man. Two houses and outbuildings were destroyed.
An apartment building was damaged in Pokrovsk as a result of a drone attack.
3 private houses in Horikhove and a cafe in Lyman were destroyed by russian strikes.
Towards Pokrovsk, russian troops carried out 60 assaults and attacks near Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novyi Trud, Dachanske, Shevchenko, Vovkove and Novovasylivka.
The RMA reported that more than three thousand people left Pokrovsk in a week.
Currently, seven and a half thousand people remain in the city, and 11,000 residents and 27 children live in the community. The front line is 3km away from the town.
Yurii Tretiak, Head of the City Military Administration, said that about three thousand people remain in Myrnohrad. The city is located 1km from the front line and is shelled by the russian army every day. There is no water, gas or electricity supply, and when there is a possibility, shops are open.
Luhansk oblast
The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled an enemy attack in Bilohorivka. According to the RMA, the russians attacked near Novoiehorivka and Makiivka, where Ukrainian troops are holding the line and inflicting losses on the occupiers. The invaders fired 10 times from cannon artillery and used 114 drones.
In 2025, the so-called “lpr” promises to launch a procedure for issuing Russian passports. Currently, residents of the occupied Luhansk oblast are forced to travel to the regions of russia to obtain this document. However, this route will continue to be used to obtain a biometric passport, which is valid for 10 years. Because in the “lpr”, only old-style passports will be issued, which are valid for five years. But in both cases, you can’t travel anywhere with these documents. However, all these documents will not be accepted in many countries.
At the high-rise building in Rubizhne, russian builders, namely the so-called “bosses” from Tatarstan, dismantled the roof in November and disappeared. The flooding of the apartments began with the first precipitation. Currently, the housing is damaged on the top three floors. The situation also caused a short circuit in the building, leaving the residents without electricity. The occupation authorities have not yet responded.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that russian troops attacked Kyiv oblast with drones overnight. As a result of the falling debris, 12 trucks, a cafe and 3 private houses were damaged in two districts. Windows and doors were smashed, facades were cut and roofs were broken. The homeowners will be provided with all the necessary assistance in their recovery.
Emergency power cuts were introduced in Kyiv and oblast due to hostile shelling. DTEK noted that the shelling severely damaged the equipment of its thermal power plants. Stabilisation schedules will be applied until the end of the day.
Borodianka village council supported the adoption of a number of decisions that removed bureaucratic obstacles to a more active reconstruction process. Kyiv Regional Military Administration will support the reconstruction of 58 out of 78 objects included in the comprehensive recovery plan as part of the pilot project. These include houses, social facilities, and a new shelter.
The RMA reported that training of specialists to support veterans is underway in Kyiv oblast. The first 16 support specialists from among war veterans and their families, as well as relatives of fallen defenders of Ukraine, have started their advanced training. In 2024, 206 residents of Kyiv oblast applied for the position of veterans’ support specialist. 111 people have already taken up their duties.
The centre’s press service reported that Kyiv Regional Centre for Preparing the Population for National Resistance will teach military English. In general, the programme of the basic course for preparing civilians for national resistance includes 15 disciplines. Most of the hours are devoted to tactical and firearms training, and tactical medicine. They also teach how to work with UAVs and counter enemy IEDs.
Zhytomyr oblast
Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported that a nighttime attack by russian forces caused a fire in an abandoned agricultural building in one of the communities.
Zhytomyr RMA informed that five more veterans will receive monetary compensation for housing purchases. Among them are three individuals with disabilities due to war (Categories I and II) and two internally displaced persons who participated in Ukraine’s defence.
In total, 108 families of servicemembers in Zhytomyr community have already received housing purchase compensation.
Sumy oblast
During night and morning, russians carried out 4 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 23 explosions. The attacks targeted Khotin, Krasnopillia and Velyka Pysarivka communities.
Velyka Pysarivka community: the enemy dropped VOG from a UAV (2 explosions).
Krasnopillia community: the russians struck by mortars (12 explosions).
Khotin community: artillery shelling was recorded (9 explosions).
During the day, russians carried out 57 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 123 explosions. The attacks targeted Khotin, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Putyvl, Krolevets, and Znob-Novhorod communities.
Krolevets community: the enemy carried out an attack by Geran-2 UAV (1 explosion). As a result of the strike, an outbuilding was damaged.
Krasnopillia community: the russians dropped 7 mines on the territory of the community. There was also a drop of explosives from an UAV (2 explosions), an attack by an FPV-drone (1 explosion).
Bilopollia community: the enemy struck by mortars (10 explosions) and dropped explosives from an UAV (6 explosions).
Putyvl community: an attack by FPV-drones (2 explosions) was recorded.
Velyka Pysarivka community: the enemy dropped 39 mines on the territory of the community. There was also an attack by FPV-drones (3 explosions), dropped explosives from an UAV (2 explosions).
Khotin community: the russians struck by artillery (25 explosions), FPV-drones (17 explosions) and dropped explosives from an UAV (6 explosions).
Znob-Novhorod community: FPV-drone attack (1 explosion).
Chernihiv oblast
On 24 Desember russian army attacked two border communities in Chernihiv oblast.
Semenivka community:
Towards Semenivka town: 1 hit, likely by FPV-drone;
Towards Kostobobriv village: four hits, likely by barrel artillery, and three hits, likely by 120mm mortar, and three more hits, likely by FPV-drone;
Towards Orlykivka: two hits, likely by barrel artillery;
Towards Baranivka village: one hit, likely by barrel artillery and one explosion by an FPV-drone.
Snovsk community:
Towards Khrinivka village: seven hits, likely by a 120mm mortar;
Hirsk village: four hits, likely by barrel artillery;
Towards Kliusy village: four hits, likely by a 120mm mortar.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, announced that Chernihiv Oblast has received 800 routers for educational institutions, thanks to support from the charity organisation Save the Children. The routers have been distributed among 304 educational institutions across 54 communities.
According to Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, On 25 December, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented a certificate for a new apartment to Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Shemet from Chernihiv Oblast, who carried out the last aerial breakthrough to “Azovstal”.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
At night, the occupiers shelled Nikopol region with artillery. They shelled the Chervonohryhorivka community. Four private houses and an outbuilding were damaged, 40 solar panels, a gas pipeline and power lines were hit.
According to updated information, a 43-year-old man died as a result of a rocket attack on 24 December on Kryvyi Rih. 17 people were injured, including two children, aged 14 and 16. 12 of the injured were hospitalised.
The entrance to the house was destroyed from the fourth to the first floor. Four apartment buildings, 9 shops, 3 catering establishments, and more than two dozen cars were also damaged.
Air defence forces shot down 42 missiles in the area.
During the day, the occupiers attacked Nikopol region more than two dozen times. They used artillery and kamikaze drones. The enemy targeted the region centre, Marhanets, Pokrovsk and Myrove communities. A fire broke out, damaging 7 private houses, an outbuilding, 2 garages, a car, 2 greenhouses, infrastructure and a power line.
The morning attack in Dnipro damaged a sports facility, an administrative building, nearly two dozen private houses and 25 apartment buildings, 3 outbuildings, a car, 6 schools, 7 kindergartens, and a medical facility. Two enterprises were damaged in Kamianske.
Vinnytsia oblast
Vinnytsia RMA reported that there is damage in Vinnytsia oblast as a result of a night attack. The strikes targeted energy infrastructure.
It became known about the deaths of four defenders from Vinnytsia oblast. These are Maksym Bespalchuk, who died in Kharkiv oblast on 20 November 2024. Taras Kupchak died in Donetsk oblast on 15 December 2024. Serhii Lukavskyi died in Kursk oblast on 19 December 2024, and Oksana Vykhovanchuk, who died of cardiac arrest on 23 December 2024.
Mayor Serhii Morhunov announced that in Vinnytsia, another aid was delivered to four military formations. 15 Mavic-3T drones from the city council, the community and the Interregional Humanitarian Coordination Centre.
Kirovohrad oblast
Another massive enemy attack. The enemy is targeting critical infrastructure, including in Kirovohrad oblast. There are consequences in some communities.
Andrii Raikovich, Head of Kirovohrad RMA, reported that a gas pipe caught fire near a private household. Windows in the houses were also damaged. A fire broke out in a warehouse. The roof, interior walls and ceiling of the building over an area of 100 square metres were on fire. There were no casualties. All services are working.
Filip Pronin, Head of Poltava RMA, reported that the russian army attacked Poltava oblast. Energy infrastructure in Kremenchuk region came under fire. Preliminarily, there were no casualties or injuries.
He added that the longest air alert announced during the entire period of the full-scale invasion continued in Poltava oblast. It began on 24 December at 2:39pm and lasted for 19 hours and 40 minutes until 10:19am on 25 December.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, reported that during an air raid, the defenders destroyed two Shahids within the oblast. There were no consequences.
Combat brigades have once again been reinforced in Cherkasy oblast: 36 electronic warfare devices, 28 generators of various capacities, 39 thermal imaging and night vision devices, 21 Mavic, 210 FPV drones. Plus 198 sets of clothing. In addition, 300 Vyrii drones and 5 night vision devices were sent towards Kursk.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
Yesterday, the occupiers launched 421 attacks on 12 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted 10 airstrikes on Temyrivka and Shcherbaky. 221 UAVs of various types targeted Zaporizhzhia, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. Additionally, 190 artillery strikes hit Kamianske, Maly Shcherbaky, Lukianivske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. Reports were received of 36 instances of residential and infrastructure damage.
On 24 December, russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with Shahed drones, damaging a children’s playground and residential homes.
The enemy continues reconnaissance towards Huliaipole and Orikhiv while preparing to resume active assaults towards Vremivka. Over the past day, the aggressor redeployed personnel to forward positions, evacuated casualties, and continued counter-battery warfare. The enemy also trained new assault groups and replenished ammunition stocks.
Mykolaiv oblast
Yesterday, 24 December, the enemy launched two FPV drone attacks on the village of Dmytrivka in Kutsurub community. The first attack damaged two vehicles, while the second caused a fire in an internet provider’s vehicle. Firefighters promptly extinguished the blaze. No casualties were reported.
Odesa oblast
As of 6am on 25 December, there were four enemy carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles in the Black Sea, with a total salvo capacity of up to 28 missiles. Eight enemy vessels were present in the Mediterranean Sea, including three carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles with a combined salvo capacity of up to 25 missiles.
Over the past day, nine vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in the interests of the russian federation, while seven ships entered the Sea of Azov.
Kherson oblast
Yesterday, the enemy shelled multiple settlements, including Antonivka, Chervonyi Maiak, Mykilske, Poniativka, Beryslav, Novoraisk, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, Tomyna Balka, Osokorivka, Novovorontsovka, Novooleksandrivka, Havrylivka, Komyshany, Bilozerka, Veletenske, Kizomys, Tiahynka, Mykolaivka, Lvove, Monastyrske, Mykhailivka, Tokarivka, Novotiahynka, Oleksandrivka, Virivka, Ivanivka, Sadove, Zymivnyk, Blahovishchenske, Pryozerne, Molodizhne, Burhunka, Zelenivka, Yantarne, Sablukivka, Zmiivka, Zolota Balka, Prydniprovske, Vesele, Olhivka, Zamozhne, and the city of Kherson. The attacks damaged two apartment buildings, 14 private homes, a car wash, a garage, and several private vehicles. One person was killed, and three others were injured due to russian aggression.
A 68-year-old man in Komyshany sought medical assistance. He suffered an explosive injury and concussion after being hit in his yard around 10:00 p.m. on 24 December during a russian attack.
It is reported that the enemy launched four assaults on the island zone in Dnipro delta. Ukrainian defense forces continued to repel attacks, inflicting significant fire damage on enemy positions, supply buildups, and locations. Over the past day, enemy losses included: 85 personnel, 5 artillery pieces, including two 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzers, 8 vehicles and armored units, 3 Shahed-136 attack drones, 2 boats, 2 motorcycles and 2 quad bikes, 10 reconnaissance drones, 6 Starlink satellite terminals, 6 communication antennas and 3 UAV control antennas Additionally, over ten bunkers and personnel shelters, as well as enemy ammunition and fuel storage locations, were destroyed.

Volyn oblast

Zakarpattia oblast
Uzhhorod City Council reported that in the city, 23 children were granted the status of a child who suffered as a result of military actions and armed conflicts.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
During the morning alarm, the enemy attacked Prykarpattia. As a result, part of the oblast is without electricity. Residents of Kalush, Burshtyn and Ivano-Frankivsk were without electricity. There are no casualties. Relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences.
In the afternoon, heat was sent to medical institutions, namely a hospital and a palliative center. Construction and commissioning work is ongoing at other 8- and 10-megawatt boiler houses. People also work on Christmas to start the heat. 9 Invincibility Centres were deployed in the region. Additional mobiles will be deployed as needed.
Lviv oblast
Volodymyr Kordiyak, sniper in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo from Strii region, was awarded with the III degree For Courage honorary order (posthumously). He was killed on 31 August 2022 in the settlement of Lyubomirivka, Mykolaiv oblast.
Rivne oblast
Children from Sumy oblast, who are recovering in the region these days, visited the RMA. During the meeting with the representatives of the authorities, the children were given sweet gifts. As a reminder, students from Sumy oblast came within the framework of the Side by Side. United Communities national project.
Ternopil oblast
The 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Corporal Mark Bezruchka received 50 FPV drones from Ternopil community.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
At night, during an air alarm signal, the Air DefenseForces shot down 1 enemy UAV of the Shahed type. There were no injuries, killed or property damage.
Khmelnytskyi community sent 6 Shark aircraft with 2 support complexes worth UAH 7.8m from budget funds, thanks to taxpayers.
Chernivtsi oblast
In Bukovina opened a memorial plaque in honor of senior sergeant Oleksandr Kharabara, senior scout of the Reconnaissance Platoon with the call sign Chemist. He was killed while performing a combat mission on 20 December 2023 in Bakhmut region, Donetsk oblast.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Japan will send $3bn to Ukraine from revenues from frozen russian assets. In general, Japan provided humanitarian and financial aid to Ukraine in the total amount of $12bn.
Ukraine received the first tranche of $1bn from the frozen assets of the russian federation from the US.
Ukraine received €150m from the EU. The funds will be used to provide free meals for children in grades 1-4, to restore infrastructure, and to support uninterrupted production of agricultural products.
Latvia sent 612 cars confiscated from “drunk drivers” to Ukraine. Back in February 2023, the Seimas of Latvia adopted amendments allowing the transfer of cars that were owned by the state to Ukraine. The total cost of the last batch is €2.25m.
