What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 23 September, russia continues its attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory. 

There were 89 engagements on the front line.

Border vicinities of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts continue to suffer from russian artillery shelling, with Sosnivka, Bachivsk, Mezenivka, Oleksandrivka, and Novomykolaivka being affected. In addition, russians launched KAB airstrikes on the settlements of Bunyakine, Richky, Volfyne, Hirky, Svoboda, Brusky, Nova Sloboda, Budivelne, and Bondarivka.

russian aviation dropped three KABs on the territory of russia’s Kursk region, and the occupiers also targeted the area with MLRS and artillery fire.

Towards Kharkiv, russian terrorists attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Lyptsi once.

Towards Kupiansk, russians attacked Ukrainian positions four times, with Ukrainian defenders repelling assaults near Hlushkivka and Stelmakhivka.

Towards Lyman, russians continue to attack in the vicinities of Cherneshchyna, Druzhylyubivka, Nevske, Makiivka, Dibrova, and Torske. Since the start of the day, Ukrainian forces have repelled six attacks, with six more battles still ongoing.

Towards Siversk, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an attack near Fedorivka.

Towards Kramatorsk, with the support of assault aviation, the invaders launched four attacks on Defense Forces’ positions near Kalynivka, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, and Predtechyne. Fighting continues near Predtechyne.

Towards Toretsk, russians conducted 13 attacks actively using assault and bomber aviation. KAB strikes targeted Shcherbynivka, Virolubivka, and Kostyantynivka, and russians also attacked near Dachne, Toretsk, and Nelipivka. Ukrainian defenders have halted five attacks, while seven more engagements are ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, the invaders made 18 attempts to attack in the vicinities of Vozdvyzhenka, Hrodivka, Orlivka, and Marynivka. All enemy attacks have been repelled.

towards Kurakhove, twelve engagements occurred, where the occupiers tried to advance in the vicinities  of Tsukuryne, Heorhiivka, Kostyantynivka, and Katerynivka. Four battles are still ongoing.

Towards Vremivka, the invaders launched four assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vuhledar and Pavlivka, with one battle near Pavlivka still ongoing.

Towards Orikhiv, the occupiers attacked near Novoandriivka, but the assault was successfully repelled, and the situation remains under control.

Towards Kherson, two russian attacks were repelled.

In other directions, russia is not conducting active operations at this time.

The Ministry of Culture reported that russians have damaged 1,096 cultural heritage sites in Ukraine. They have damaged 121 cultural sites of national significance and 892 of local importance, with 83 newly identified damaged monuments. Repeat strikes on previously damaged heritage sites have occurred in Dnipropetrovsk region, with new damage reported in Kharkiv, Kherson, and Sumy regions.

Oleh Koval, head of the Office of Disposal and Recycling of Excess Military Property reported that the Ministry of Defense has contributed UAH 24.7 million to the state budget by recycling destroyed military equipment. So far, 1,000 tons of scrap metal containing precious metals have been collected, including 100 kg of gold, 1,900 kg of silver, and 25 kg of platinum. Over the first seven months of 2024, the Ministry has received UAH 24.7 million from recycling, and an additional UAH 18 million is expected by the end of the year.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The General Staff said that the russian army launched 106 attacks in the east.

 

Towards Pokrovsk, Ukrainian troops repelled 35 attacks near Krasnyi Yar, Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretsk, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Selydove, Marynivka, Myroliubivka and Mykhailivka.

Towards Kurakhove, Ukrainian defence forces repelled 28 attacks near Hirnyk, Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Druha, Heorhiivka, Katerynivka and Kostiantynivka.

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that the russians struck a forest belt on the outskirts.

Oleksandr Hololobov, head of Mala Danylivka community, informed that the russian federation shelled one of the residential areas and it has been hit three times in a month.

Vitalii Sarantsev, Spokesman of the Kharkiv operational-strategic group said that as of the end of September 2024, several dozen russian soldiers remain blocked at the aggregate plant in Vovchansk. When this unit arrived at the plant, there were 40 soldiers.

The General Staff said that by 4pm, the Defence Forces had repelled all russian attempts to storm Ukrainian positions towards Kharkiv and Kupiansk. Also russia has attacked once in the north of the oblast since the beginning of the day and four times in Kupiansk.

Towards Lyman, six battles are ongoing and another six have been repelled, including near Cherneshchyna and Druzheliubivka.

Kharkiv police press service said added that a 59-year-old woman from Osynove in Kupiansk region was wounded in a russian shelling at around 10am. The wounded woman was hospitalised.

At around 9am, the occupiers struck again at Kupiansk. An 82-year-old civilian woman was killed.

Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of the regional police department, said that at around 8:15am, russian troops struck Staryi Saltiv with cluster munitions, wounding three policemen. One policeman is in critical condition, the others are in light and medium condition. A police car was also damaged.

Yesterday at 10:52pm, Shyikivka village of Borova community, Izium region, was hit . As a result of the shelling of the KAB, an outbuilding burned down. Two people were injured: a 76-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman.

 

At 3:30pm, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi village of Kupiansk region was hit. As a result of the shelling the grass was burning on the area of 1 hectare.

 

At 2:57pm, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi village of Kupiansk region was attacked. As a result of the shelling a private house was partially destroyed, two outbuildings were damaged. Two women of 64 and 68 years old were injured, they suffered from an acute stress reaction, they were not hospitalised.

At 12:37pm, Rubizhne forestry of Buhaivka village, Vovchansk community, Chuhuiv region, was attacked. As a result of the shelling, forest litter and grass burned on the area of 1 hectare.

At 11:07am, Sobolivka village of Kindrashivka community, Kupiansk region. As a result of the shelling a two-storey garage and dry grass on the area of 500 sq m were burning.

 Towards Kharkiv, the enemy continued assault operations. There were seven combat engagements near Vovchansk and Tykhe.

Towards Kupiansk, the number of combat engagements totalled 16 hostile attacks. Defence forces repelled enemy assaults near Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Kruhliakivka, Lozova and Stelmakhivka.

Tymoshko said that between 15 and 22 September, russia launched 68 guided missile strikes and eight rocket attacks in the region, and about 25 artillery and mortar attacks were recorded. Over the past week, we have 13 civilians killed and 122 wounded, including 12 children.

Vitalii Sarantsev, Spokesman of the Kharkiv operational-strategic group, reported that towards Kharkiv, there has been no decrease in the number of attacks on Ukrainian positions after the explosions of ammunition depots in russia. According to him, since the summer, the number of attacks towards Kharkiv has remained unchanged – from 360 to 400 daily.

A total of 492 apartments and houses have been purchased in Kharkiv oblast under the state programme yeVidnovlennia. Residents of communities in the region purchased 374 apartments and 118 private houses with certificates. At the same time, 23,262 people received UAH 2.2bn in compensation for housing repairs under the government programme. As of today, 3,205 certificates worth over UAH 4.4bn have been issued in 36 communities of the oblast.

Donetsk oblast

In Kramatorsk, a 48-year-old woman was killed in the attack and her husband of 48 years and a 61-year-old resident were injured. Another 56-year-old resident was injured.

At around 10:20am, the enemy struck Shakhove village with a FAB-250 bomb. Men aged 26 and 35, women aged 37 and 38 and two boys aged 7 and 9 were wounded. A 42-year-old police officer of the community, who was involved in the evacuation of civilians, was also injured. The police officer sustained numerous shrapnel wounds. Residential buildings, shops and administrative buildings were damaged.

Roman Padun, Head of Kurakhove CMA, stated that one person was wounded as a result of the shelling of Kurakhivka. Also russian troops are shelling the community’s settlements with artillery, cluster munitions and aerial bombs.

Three killed, 10 wounded, including a child, as a result of russian attacks in Donetsk oblast. Yesterday police recorded 3,233 hostile attacks along the frontline and in the residential sector.

Explosions occurred in 9 settlements: Hirnyk, Dobropillia, Kramatorsk, Kurakhove, Mykolaivka, Myrnohrad, Sloviansk, Kurakhivka and Novoukrainka. 120 civilian objects were damaged, including 105 residential buildings.

In Myrnohrad, two civilians died as a result of artillery shelling, and 4 private houses were damaged.

One person was killed in Novoukrainka.

Oleksandr Honcharenko, Head of the RMA, said that russians shelled Kramatorsk with Tornado-S MRLs, wounding six civilians, including a girl born in 2008. The heavily wounded 16-year-old girl was hospitalised in Dnipro city. Other wounded are in a hospital in Kramatorsk in a light condition. Four apartment buildings and six civilian cars were destroyed.

The occupiers dropped four FAB-250 bombs with an UMPK module on Sloviansk, injuring three civilians and damaging 72 private houses, a garage with a car, and an infrastructure facility.

One person was wounded in Mykolaivka, which was attacked by the enemy with a FAB-250 bomb with an UMPK module. Three apartment buildings and a hospital were damaged.

In Dobropillia, russian troops struck twice with FAB-250 bombs with an UMPK module, damaging 19 private houses and an administrative building.

In just one day, a police crew evacuated 35 residents from the town of Hirnyk and the neighbouring village of Izmailivka. Towards Kurakhove, law enforcers are evacuating the wounded from the frontline around the clock and burying the dead.

Mariia Semenchenko, wife of the journalist Ivan Liubysh-Kirdei, who was wounded in Kramatorsk, said that he was transported to Kyiv on the night of 24-25 August,’ said his wife. He is in intensive care. Ivan was taken off the ventilator. Now doctors are treating his other injuries and wounds. On 24 August, he was wounded as a result of a russian Iskander strike on the Sapfir hotel in Kramatorsk.

Luhansk oblast

The RMA reported that yesterday the enemy attacked five times near Bilohorivka, Makiivka and Balka Zhuravka, where Ukrainian troops are holding the line. Evacuation from there is becoming more difficult every day. However, yesterday the staff of Krasnorichensk Military Administrative District managed to rescue and transport a 52-year-old resident of Balka Zhuravka to Donetsk oblast, where his family had previously moved. The russians also stormed near Stelmakhivka. They shelled Balka Zhuravka with multiple rocket launchers. They also used artillery and drones to shell Balka Zhuravka and Makiivka. 

86 state grants worth UAH 19m were awarded to Luhansk entrepreneurs. Serhii Bolotskyi, Director of Luhansk Regional Employment Centre, spoke about government grants for starting and expanding a business. Government grants for veterans and their families provide up to UAH 1m.

Ukrainians living in the so-called “lpr” but refusing to obtain a russian passport will be entered in the register of foreigners. Starting from 1 January 2025, being on this list will result in restrictions on receiving almost all payments, social and administrative services. This includes banking, property registration, and enrolment of children in educational institutions. The invaders are confident that such a strict framework will increase the pace of forced passportisation.

The occupation administration of Siverskodonetsk is looking for ways to legitimise the so-called “nationalisation” of real estate for residents who have not provided documents confirming their ownership within 30 days of the announcement of the “nationalisation” of their apartment or house. In other words, they did not return to Siverskodonetsk. The invaders offer to get the keys to the replaced locks on the doors to any person who has a power of attorney issued according to the russian model, i.e. on the territory of the russian federation. The authenticity of the document is unlikely to be checked.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On 21 September, Ukrainian Women’s Guard held an event “Mental Health and Body Recovery” aimed at supporting women affected by war and difficult life circumstances. The meeting was held in the cosy space of the UWG HUB Borodianka, where participants had the opportunity to discuss their experiences and look for ways to recover.

In Kyiv oblast, women can master the profession of bus driver for free as part of the She Drives! pilot project. The main goal of the initiative is to create new jobs for women in the public transport sector. Moreover, the project was launched to overcome the shortage of personnel in the transport sector caused by the full-scale invasion of russia and mobilisation. Graduates will be assisted with employment.

On 22 September, the first festival of veteran culture, Circle of Veterans, was held. The event was aimed at uniting military and civilians. The festival featured 6 themed locations, a veteran business fair and an adaptive sports area.

A unique educational and volunteer event was held in Kyiv oblast, combining educational tours, workshops, volunteer work, themed brainstorming and humanitarian aid to Komyshuvata community in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The event was held under the slogan “Solidarity that shapes consciousness”. 

Zhytomyr oblast

The Regional Employment Centre in Zhytomyr oblast reported that combatants can upgrade their skills or learn a new profession. Training in working professions and educational programmes in modern vocational education centres would be free of charge. Since the beginning of the year, 136 veterans have been employed in the region, 129 of whom were previously unemployed.

Primary healthcare centres in Zhytomyr oblast have received 7 new off-road passenger cars. This became possible thanks to the World Bank as part of the Strengthening Health Systems and Saving Lives (Heal Ukraine) project. The vehicles are designed for healthcare workers who travel to remote locations to see patients.

Sumy oblast

Olena Sharkova, acting Head of Myropillia community, reported that on the morning of 23 September, russian forces attacked a passenger bus in Myropillia, Sumy oblast, with an FPV drone. The drone hit the bus carrying civilians. The driver and one of the passengers were injured and received medical assistance. The bus was also damaged.

Iryna Yukhta, Acting Head of Krasnopillia community, reported that in the morning of 23 September,  russian artillery shelled Krasnopillia community in Sumy oblast. The shelling in Mezenivka village injured a 51-year-old woman, who is now in the hospital. Residential houses in the village were also damaged due to the artillery strike.

During night and morning, russians carried out 22 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 30 explosions. The attacks targeted Verkhnia Syrovatka, Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopilia, Putyvl, Nova Slobidka, Popivka, Esman and Seredyna-Buda communities.

During the day, 22 September, russians carried out 54 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 150 explosions. The attacks targeted  Mykolaivka, Khotin, Myropollia, Bilopillia, Richky, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Slobidka, Hlukhiv, Esman, Shalyhyne, Svesa, Seredyna-Buda communities.

According to Sumy RMA, Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, participated in a meeting with Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valerii Zaluzhnyi. The meeting focused on cooperation between Sumy oblast and the UK, discussing joint projects in education, healthcare, culture, and business. Ambassador Zaluzhnyi noted that a list of counties in the UK has been identified that are open to cooperation with Ukraine, with emphasis placed on the unique strengths of each region to ensure mutually beneficial collaboration.

Nadiia Vailo, Head of Hlukhiv community,  announced that in Hlukhiv, nearly one-third of the population, including around 70% of the children, has been evacuated. Due to the increased number of attacks, mandatory evacuation has been declared in Hlukhiv by the order of Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration. Vailo reported that 10,000 people, nearly a third of the city’s residents, have already left Hlukhiv.

Chernihiv oblast

During the day, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast. The fire was carried out using artillery and mortars, and drones were also used to drop explosives from UAVs.

Novhorod-Siverskyi community:

  • 28 explosions, likely by 120mm mortar and three explosions, likely explosive devices dropped from UAVs on Mykhalchyna Sloboda village;
  • 1 explosion, likely by barrel artillery and one explosion, likely by FPV-drone on Chaikyne village;
  • 3 hits, likely by FPV-drones, four explosions, likely by 120mm mortar and two explosions, likely explosive devices dropped from UAVs on Hremiach village;
  • 3 explosions, likely explosive devices dropped from UAVs on Buchky.

Semenivka community:

  • 5 hits, likely by tank in Yanzhulivka village;
  • 3 explosions, likely by by FPV-drone, nine explosions, likely by 120mm mortar, four explosions, likely by barrel artillery on Karpovychi village;
  • 4 explosions, likely by by FPV-drones on Tymonovychi village;
  • 8 hits, likely by barrel artillery on Orlykivka village;
  • 7 explosions, likely by MLPS on Zaliznyi Mist village.

Snovsk community:

  • 4 explosions, likely by 120mm mortar on Khrinivka village.

Horodnia community:

  • 11 explosions, likely by 120mm barrel artillery on Hasychivka.

No casualties or injuries among the local population were reported as a result of the shelling.

Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that over the past week, 149 people were evacuated from border villages in Chernihiv oblast due to ongoing shelling. Most of the evacuations were from Semenivka community (142 people), with smaller numbers from the Novhorod-Siverskyi (4 people), Snovsk (3 people), and Horodnia (1 person) communities. Some of the evacuees were relocated to modular towns in Semenivka and Novoselivka.

Chernihiv Regional Military Registration and Enlistment Office informed that on 22 September, four Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers — Volodymyr Bohdan, Leonid Shyrokov, Vasyl Herasymenko and Stanislav Khurtak — were laid to rest in Chernihiv oblast. Two of the soldiers were identified through DNA analysis.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

In the morning, russians  attacked Nikopol using artillery and kamikaze drones.

A day of mourning was declared in Kryvyi Rih for the victims of the missile attack on Saturday night. 

Air defence systems were activated in oblast to shoot down an enemy reconnaissance drone.

The invaders shelled Nikopol region throughout the day. They carried out about two and a half dozen attacks targeting the regional centre, Marhanets, Myrove and Pokrovsk communities. A 51-year-old man was injured and hospitalised in moderate condition. The shelling caused several fires, setting fire to private houses, a shed and a garage. In total, more than ten private houses, a garden house, outbuildings, a utility company, infrastructure, greenhouses, several cars, machinery, power lines and gas pipelines were damaged. Some poultry died.

Vinnytsia oblast

Mayor Serhii Morhunov said that Vinnytsia oblast had sent FPV drones of improved modification to the hottest areas of the conflict, helped to purchase a special vehicle for the National Police infantry battalion, and equipment for Vinnytsia rescuers. 

Kirovohrad oblast

Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Kirovograd oblast, the number of people willing to learn how to provide first aid has increased. Kirovograd regional organisation of the Ukrainian Red Cross organises the training sessions. Four six-hour training sessions and one 12-hour training session were held over the course of a month. There were 12-13 people at each training session. After the training, they receive certificates.

Dmytro Chornyi, a 22-year-old soldier from Kropyvnytskyi, has been held in russian captivity for 29 months, according to the soldier’s fiancée Diana Shchykot. Seaman Dmytro Chornyi served in the 36th Separate Marine Brigade under a contract he signed in December 2021. In January 2022, he was stationed in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk oblast. This is where he was caught up in the full-scale war. This year, he spent his third birthday in captivity. The coordination headquarters informed that Dmytro is on the exchange list, but the russian side does not want to return him. Diana’s fiancée joins all the actions in support of the prisoners, writes letters to the National Information Bureau, and from there they go to the Red Cross. Dima has no relatives, he was raised by his grandparents.

Poltava oblast

In Poltava oblast, people will hold a memorial service for the military. Kostiantyn Koposov from Horishni Plavni community and Oleh Lutokhin from Myrhorod community were killed in the war with russia. The soldiers were killed in Donetsk oblast defending Ukraine.

Cherkasy oblast

26-year-old defender Oleksandr Tsiplo was posthumously awarded the 2For Merit to City of Kaniv” decoration. The press service of Kaniv City Council reported that the soldier died on 3 September as a result of a rocket attack in Poltava.

Olena Lozheshnikova, head of the Association of Mothers and Wives of Defenders of Ukraine All-Ukrainian NGO in Cherkasy oblast reported that the families of the fallen defenders offered a place for the military to be buried. The discussion was attended by the families of the fallen soldiers who are buried on Alley and in other places. Earlier, during the Anti-Terrorist Operation and the Joint Special Forces, relatives used to bury their loved ones in different places near their relatives. Later, they suggested the Alley of Heroes, where the military are buried now, so that they could all be together. According to the relatives, the existing Alley of Heroes should be expanded.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

At approximately 11pm on 22 September, the enemy attacked Zaporizhzhia. russian forces struck the city centre and civilian residents who were already asleep. Twenty-one people were injured, including a 15-year-old boy. Five residents were hospitalised, and currently, two women—aged 94 and 23—remain in the hospital. Over forty houses were damaged. A total of 185 residents of the regional centre have requested assistance with recovery efforts.

According to the State Environmental Inspection of the Southern District, three areas in Zaporizhzhia downtown were affected due to the shelling on 22 September. The total area of land contamination from debris is over 2,000 sq m.

Tonight russian forces struck the villages of Zarichne and Komyshuvakha, damaging residential buildings.

Yesterday, the occupiers carried out 363 strikes on 12 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted nine airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia, Komyshuvakha, Zarichne, Kamianske and Piatykhatky. 209 UAVs of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne, and Malynivka. Four MLRS attacks hit Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodarivka, and Robotyne. Additionally, 146 artillery strikes targeted Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Levadne. Ninety-five reports were received regarding the destruction of residential houses and infrastructure.

It is reported that there were two unsuccessful enemy clashes near Robotyne towards Orikhiv.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, on 22 September, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community eight times using FPV drones. As a result of the attack, two private houses in the village of Solonchaky were damaged, and a car in the village of Dmytrivka was also hit. Additionally, dry grass caught fire in an open area. Furthermore, on 22 September, at 1:20 p.m., the water area of Ochakiv community was under enemy artillery shelling. No casualties were reported.

Odesa oblast

As of 6am, 23 September, one enemy vessel was in the Black Sea. There was one carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles in the Mediterranean Sea, with a total volley capacity of up to 16 missiles.

Over the past day, four ships passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in russia’s interests, and five more vessels entered the Sea of Azov.

Kherson oblast

Today, the occupiers attacked Kindiika with drones. A 70-year-old man, who was working in his garden, was injured by explosives dropped from a drone. He was taken to the hospital with blast injuries, a concussion, and shrapnel wounds to his head and leg.

This morning, russians attacked an ambulance near Romashkove in Bilozerka community with a drone. A 58-year-old paramedic and a 50-year-old driver were injured, both suffering blast injuries and concussions. The vehicle was also damaged.

Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that other victims have independently sought medical help following enemy attacks. A 51-year-old man was injured in a drone attack on the road between Kizomys and Novodmytrivka, suffering from a blast injury and concussion. A resident of Kizomys, who was injured during a russian strike on 21 September, sustained a blast injury and concussion. Another man was hurt a few days ago by a russian drone attack in Bilozerka. The 44-year-old local was diagnosed with a blast injury and a concussion.

Yesterday, russian forces shelled and launched airstrikes at Vesele, Tiahynka, Poniativka, Odradokamianka, Beryslav, Novovorontsovka, Bilozerka, Novoberyslav, Antonivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Komyshany, Tomyna Balka, Bobrovyi Kut, Zmiivka and the city of Kherson. Administrative buildings, a bank, an apartment building, and 20 private homes were damaged. Gas pipelines, buses, and private cars were also affected. One person was killed, and nine others were injured due to russian aggression.

It is reported that russian invaders attacked Ukrainian positions once towards Kherson. The enemy suffered 111 casualties over the past day. Thirteen bunkers, two ammunition depots, three observation posts, and one drone launch site were destroyed.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

From 19 August to 23 September, 211 IDPs arrived in the oblast in search of shelter. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, 80,669 migrants have arrived in Volyn oblast. The status of IDPs is 44,638 people. This amounts to 32,347 families, in which 11,921 are children. Among the forcibly evacuated persons: 2,273 people with disabilities, 6,875 pensioners, 86 large families and 18 single-parent families.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that command and staff training of the National Guard unit took place in the oblast.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that the community sent 50 FPV-drones to the 72th Separate Mechanised Brigades named after Black Zaporozhets.

In Prykarpattia, the implementation of a social project with concern for families of the Heroes continues. Within its framework, a 1-day tour was held in Tlumach for native defenders, which included watching a film, various master classes and refreshments. In Sniatin, a sports event was held for the children of fallen servicemen. All participants of the event received awards and souvenirs

Lviv oblast

The 2nd Regional Extracurricular Forum was held in Lviv oblast. This year, the event was held with a charitable purpose. Funds were collected for the purchase of a quadcopter for the 80th Separate Amphibious Assault Brigades.

In Zolochiv region, a memorial plaque was installed in memory of Andrii Bakun, Senior Pilot of the Helicopter Unit of the 12th Separate Army Aviation brigade named after Colonel-General Pavlenka. He was killed on 12 March 2024 during a combat flight. During his service, he was awarded the For Victory and Loyalty Medal of the Military Academy and the 3rd degree For Courage Order.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that Rivne oblast is 94% ready for the heating season. Most measures to prepare housing and communal services for cold weather have been completed. Boiler rooms and heating networks are prepared by 94%, water supply and sewage management – 93%, social sphere – 99%, housing stock – 92%.

Ternopil oblast

Since the beginning of 2024, 434 IDPs have been employed by Ternopil Regional Employment Center of Ternopil oblast. Another 26 IDPs were involved in public and other works of a temporary nature, and 141 were involved in socially useful works as part of the Recovery Army. In addition, IDPs can receive a voucher for tuition fees.

Ternopil sent a truck to the 83rd Battalion thanks to the Swedish city of Ronneby.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Enerhoatom reported that on the night of 22 September, another flight of an unmanned aerial vehicle was recorded near the industrial site of Khmelnytsky NPP. It was emphasised that Enerhoatom provides information about each such fact to relevant institutions for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to send notes to the International Atomic Energy Agency and to inform domestic and international organisations.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Natalka Tsmots, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine. They discussed cooperation between Ukraine and Canada, support for the country, opportunities to expand cooperation in matters of culture, education and the initiation of joint economic projects at the regional level.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands reported that they are trying to find other elements of the Patriot air defence system for Ukraine. The Netherlands has so far supplied Ukraine with a radar system with a Patriot air defence system and plans to supply three installations to the battery. At the same time, the state is trying to find other elements.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, and First Lady Olena Zelenska arrived in the US. The President of Ukraine visited a plant in Pennsylvania that produces 155mm shells for the Armed Forces.

The UN General Assembly adopted the Pact for the Future despite russia’s protest. The Pact is a declaration that obliges countries to take concrete measures to create a safe, peaceful, sustainable and inclusive world for future generations.

Alexander Stubb, President of Finland, called for the suspension of moscow’s membership in the UN. The Finnish President believes that it is necessary to abolish the veto of one state and suspend the membership of any member that participates in an illegal war, such as moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. The President of Finland also called for support for Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, who will present his victory plan at the UN.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, received the award of the American Academy of Achievement – The Golden Plate Award. For 60 years, she has been recognized for her contribution to the development of humanity. For ingenuity, which can only be realised in conditions of freedom.
