War in Ukraine today: latest news, 22 June, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 850th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 22 June, the enemy increased the pace of offensive and assault operations, looking for ways to penetrate Ukrainian defences and trying to dislodge Ukrainian units from the occupied lines.

The number of combat clashes along the entire front line increased to 121. The hottest situation is now towards Pokrovsk. At the same time, Ukrainian defenders are giving a worthy rebuff to the occupiers, destroying personnel and equipment. 

Kharkiv oblast continues to suffer from insidious missile and bomb strikes from the territory of the russian federation.  In the afternoon, russian terrorists hit the civilian infrastructure of Kharkiv and its outskirts with four KABs. As a result of such insidious and criminal actions of the aggressor, the civilian population suffered. Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded. At the same time, enemy aircraft also attacked Vesele with four guided aerial bombs, and the enemy dropped another KAB on Vovchansk, Lisne and Lyptsi. It is worth adding that the enemy tried to attack twice in the vicinity of Vovchansk. Ukrainian soldiers repelled one assault, and another battle continues.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 assaults by the occupying forces near Synkivka, Stepova, Novoselivka, Andriivka, Miasozharivka, Stelmakhivka and Pishchane. Currently, three more clashes are ongoing there.

Towards Lyman, eight enemy attacks were unsuccessful near the settlements of Terny and Nevske.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy tried four times to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions near Ivanivske, Hryhorivka and Nove. Ukrainian soldiers repelled three attacks, and one is still ongoing.  

Towards Toretsk, the number of assaults by the occupiers increased to 14. Units of the Defense Forces repelled eight assaults, six attacks are still ongoing. 

Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers do not slow down the pace of the offensive.  The enemy has attacked the defensive lines of Ukrainian defenders 38 times.  27 assaults of the aggressor were unsuccessful, another 11 enemy attacks are ongoing.

Fighting continues towards Kurakhove. Since the beginning of the day, the enemy attacked near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Paraskoviivka. The total number of attacks increased to 14, of which eight were repelled and six are still ongoing.  

In other directions, the situation has not changed significantly.


Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reports that another 7 children were returned from the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson oblast. The team of the Save Ukraine charitable organizations contributed to the return of 3 boys and 4 girls. 

Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, says that Ukraine will allocate UAH 759m to strengthen stability of the energy system. The state expands opportunities to obtain preferential loans so that businesses and people can reduce electricity consumption or create an additional source for its generation.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Oleksandr Filchakov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, said that four UMPB D-30 shells were fired at Kharkiv from the territory of Belgorod region. The press service added that as of 8:20pm three people were killed and 54 injured. Among them are 23 men, 26 women and three girls aged 12, 13 and 17.

Serhii Bolvinov, Chief Investigator of Kharkiv police, reported about the preliminary findings saying that three floors of a five-storey residential building on Haharina Avenue in Kharkiv collapsed not because of a direct hit by a guided aerial bomb, but because of its debris and blast wave. Police removed the tail section of the bomb from the crater, while utility workers have already covered the crater with earth.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that the employee of the Ukrposhta mobile branch was killed in Vovchansk community while transporting and delivering pensions. The driver accompanying the woman was also injured. Their car was hit by an enemy UAV. The injured man walked to Buhaivka, where he was seen by the military and hospitalised in Kharkiv. The place of death is currently inaccessible due to intense shelling.

At 1:45am, Pidlyman village of Borova community, Izium region was hit. As a result of the shelling by KAB, private households, three shops, the premises of a preschool, a house of culture, two cars were damaged.

At 10:53pm, Vilkhivka village of Vilkhivka community, Kharkiv region, street was shelled by KAB. The windows of a private house were broken.

At 4pm, Kyrylivka village of Staryi Saltiv community, Chuhuiv region, was attacked and as a result of the shelling of a shop, a kindergarten, two private houses were damaged by an unidentified aerial vehicle.

At 3pm, a UAV hit the previously destroyed fire station in Lyptsi village of Lyptsi community, Kharkiv region. The fence and partially the building of the reserve garage were destroyed.

At 2:46pm, Borova village of Izium region was shelled. The shelling partially destroyed a grocery store, damaged a car and 10 private houses.

On 21 June at 10am, Vovchansk was targeted. Two employees of Ukrposhta suffered an enemy attack by UAV. As a result, a woman was killed and a man injured.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy did not conduct any active offensive.

Towards Kupiansk, the number of combat engagements increased to 14. The invaders attacked Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Stelmakhivka, Berestove and Pishchane. 10 attacks were repelled without success for the enemy, four are still ongoing.

Donetsk oblast

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of Donetsk regional Prosecutor’s Office, reported that the russian army has been shelling Toretsk by artillery and conducting air strikes throughout the day. Two people were killed and two others injured.

Petro Andriushchenko, Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, informed that in the temporarily occupied Mariupol and the region, explosions were heard and a fire broke out in the areas where the invaders and their air defence systems are based.

Based on the report of the General Staff as of 1pm, the russians are increasing the pace of their offensive on Toretsk. Ukrainian troops have repelled four attacks in this area and three more are ongoing. The number of battles towards Pokrovsk increased to 22, with Ukrainian troops repelling 14 of them.

The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 22 June is as follows:

Pokrovsk region. In Selydove, 2 people were killed and 3 injured, 5 five-storey buildings, 6 private houses and a car were damaged. A private house was damaged in Kurakhove. 8 houses were damaged in Prohres of Hrodivka community.

Kramatorsk region. Torske, Terny, Yampolivka and Zarichne of Lyman community were shelled. The outskirts of Kostiantynivka community were under attack.

Bakhmut region. 15 private houses and 4 apartment buildings were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. Toretsk community suffered numerous attacks: 2 people were killed and 1 injured, 13 houses, an administrative building and an infrastructure facility were damaged in Toretsk; 1 person was killed and 1 injured in Druzhba; 1 person was injured and 3 houses damaged in Pivnichne; 1 person was injured and a house damaged in Niu-York. Another house was damaged in Siversk.

In total, russians attacked settlements in Donetsk oblast 13 times over the day. 260 people, including 50 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday russians killed 5 civilians: 2 in Selydove, 2 in Toretsk and 1 in Druzhba. Another 7 people were injured in the oblast. 

Luhansk oblast

Towards Lyman, the enemy attacked 12 times. They tried to break through our defences near Hrekivka, Nevske and in Serebrianka forest. The Ukrainian military is taking measures to prevent the aggressor from advancing deeper into the country. The invaders attacked 14 times towards Kupiansk, specifically near Stelmakhivka. Nevske was shelled by artillery, mortars and multiple rocket launchers. Stelmakhivka, Kuzemivka and Makiivka were under mortar and artillery attack. 

The 60th Brigade received 232 drones. Another 25 Mavic 3 Pro drones and 20 Bandera Power charging stations were provided to the First Presidential Brigade.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that so-called “lpr” received a methodology according to which security forces are obliged to offer to sign a contract with the russian Ministry of Defence not only to the accused, but also to suspects.

According to Luhansk RMA, thanks to joint efforts, a 16-year-old boy was returned from Lysychansk to Ukraine.

Recently, an 85-year-old woman was helped to leave Nevske. The working group of Krasnorichensk Village Military Administration evacuated four residents of Novoliubivka over the past two weeks.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Third International Forum of the Crimea Platform Expert Network will be held in Kyiv on 24-25 June with the participation of Ukrainian and international experts. Representatives from more than 15 countries are expected at the forum. They will assess the current situation over the summer, identify ways to stabilize Ukraine’s economy, and develop solutions to reduce russia’s influence in the Black Sea. In particular, the event is aimed at de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea.

The National Resistance Training Center in Obolon is recruiting students for a free one-day course. Classes will be conducted by employees of the Municipal Guard who have experience in combat operations. Those interested can acquire primary knowledge in shooting, equipment, first aid, mine safety, the basics of psychology, topography and radio communications.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, says that international partners and the Ministry of Health handed over transport for medical institutions in Ivankiv and Bucha as part of the Care from Birth at Home initiative. 40 cars, purchased by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) with the help of the Spanish government, will be transferred to hospitals in 9 regions of Ukraine.

According to the report of Hlevakha village council, the construction of two radiation shelters in educational institutions continues in Hlevakha. 

According to the police, a fragment of a shell was found in the wall of a house in the village of Zalissia. After clarifying the information and applying security measures, the explosive item was taken to a safe place and destroyed.

According to Ruslan Kravchenko’s comments, Kyiv oblast has allocated more than UAH 63.4m to increase material and technical support of Ukrainian military formations since the beginning of May. Kyiv and communities of Kyiv oblast send transport, fuel, and tactical medicine equipment to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

On June 21, an event for IDPs was held in Irpin with the assistance of the Good Deeds Foundation Charitable Foundation. The event was attended by 150 people. One of the locations was stands with professional services of internally displaced persons who opened a new business or resumed their business in a new city.

Zhytomyr oblast

Svatove Military Administration reports that in Zhytomyr, internally displaced persons from Luhansk oblast will receive medicines for free thanks to the Communal Non-Profit Enterprise Belokurakinskaya BL.

Iryna Dembitska, Head of the public communication department of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, informs that 42 children of servicemen went to Estonia thanks to the initiative of the mayor of Tallinn, Mikhail Kilvart. Children are accepted at the expense of city fees, and logistical and organizational issues are provided by the BGV charitable foundation. 

According to Berdychiv Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Kovalchuk, a resident of the village of Kykyshivka, was killed during the fighting on 5 October, 2023 near Maryinka in Donetsk oblast. Kovalchuk fought as an assistant grenade launcher shooter and was called up for service on May 28, 2023. He was considered missing, but his death was recently confirmed.

According to Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, the building of Sinhuriv Lyceum of Novohuivynska Village Council, damaged as a result of hostilities, is being restored thanks to the EU4UASchools: Build Back Better project from the EU and the United Nations Development Program. The lyceum received new furniture and equipment, repair work is underway, including replacement of windows, doors, renovation of platforms and handrails, repair of classrooms and insulation of the façade. In the new academic year, 352 students and 57 teachers will return to the renovated lyceum.

Sumy oblast

In Sumy oblast there were 82 explosions. In Velyka Pysarivka community, VOG was dropped from UAVs 3 explosions, artillery shelling 7 explosions. In Khotyn community,  4 mines were dropped by russians on the territory of the community, an FPV drone strike 1 explosion, artillery shelling 2 explosions. In Esman community, there were FPV drone strikes 5 explosions, mortar shelling 12 explosions. The enemy fired artillery at  Krasnopillia community 2 explosions, mortars 4 explosions. Bilopillia community was hit by 1 explosion from UAVs. The russians hit Shalyhyne community with barrel artillery and MLRS 25 explosions. In Yunakivka community, 4 mines were dropped by the enemy. Seredyna-Buda community was hit by an FPV drone 1 explosion.

Nova Sloboda community was hit with mortars 3 explosions.

At night and in the morning, the russians carried out 6 attacks on the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 39 explosions. The enemy attacked Bilopillia community with FPV drones 2 explosions. The russians hit the Yunakivka community with artillery 6 explosions. The Esman community was shelled with artillery 24 explosions and an FPV drone strike 1 explosion. Khotyn community was shelled with MLRS 6 explosions.

In the village of Cherneve, a private house and two critical infrastructure facilities were damaged. In the village of Shalyhyne, one house was destroyed and another damaged.

Due to the shelling, more than 1,300 metering points in Bilopillia community were de-energized.

In Sumy, a rally was held in support of captured soldiers. About 150 people were holding banners with inscriptions “Free Azov” and “Captivity kills”. More than a hundred Sumy residents came to it.

Chernihiv oblast

Halyna Shekhovtsova, Spokeswoman of Chernihiv border detachment, reports that on 21 June, the russian army attacked four border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovsk and Horodnia. The number of explosions is as follows: Novhorod-Siverskyi community – 7 (probably from barrel artillery) in the vicinity of Hai village; 8 (probably from 120 mm mortars) near Mykhalchyna Sloboda village; Semenivka community – 6 (presumably from an 82-mm mortar) towards the village of Bleshnia; Snovsk community – 4 ( probably from MLRS) in the vicinity of the village of Hirske; Horodnia community – 3 ( probably explosive ammunition from UAVs) on the outskirts of the village of Hasychivka; and 24 explosions, probably from barrel artillery, on the outskirts of the village of Hasychivka.

There was no information about casualties among the local population or damage to civilian infrastructure.

From Monday to Friday, there were 75 hits in 11 settlements in Semenivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi and Snovsk communities.

The team of veterans of Chernihiv oblast brought 17 awards from the Victory of the Unconquered competition, which was held by the Strongman Federation of Ukraine. In total, they received a record number: 13 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals. This shows that sports rehabilitation of Ukrainian veterans is effective.

In Chernihiv oblast, residents paid tribute to two servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – Kostiantyn Yarovykh and Oleksandr Yehorov. Also, the other day, Andrii Melnyk was buried in Korop community, and Yurii Hrybovskyi was buried in Horodnia community.

Andrii Kudabekov from Chernihiv was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. The brave warrior was killed in October 2023 during a combat mission in the north of Chernihiv oblast.

Oleksii Bespalyi, a graduate of Nizhyn University, was killed in the war. 

On 22 June, Nizhyn paid tribute to the fallen soldier Anatolii Khramov. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that the occupiers attacked Nikopol region 5 times from evening till night. They launched 2 kamikaze drones at Nikopol and shelled the region’s center, Marhanets and Myrove communities with artillery. In total, they fired more than a dozen shells. In the morning, the enemy attacked Nikopol again with artillery. According to the updated information, windows in the buildings of three educational institutions were smashed as a result of yesterday’s missile attack on Kryvyi Rih. The warehouses of a dozen private enterprises were damaged. Another one had its office damaged. A car was hit.

The enemy was shelling Nikopol region all day. The region’s center, Myrove, Marhanets, Pokrovsk and Chervonohryhorivka communities were targeted. Kamikaze drones were launched and artillery was used. Three private houses, an agricultural company, an outbuilding and a car were damaged.

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that help was sent from Dnipropetrovsk oblast to fighters from the Luftwaffe unit. The two vehicles are an off-road vehicle for successful combat missions and an ambulance. The ambulance is equipped with new medical equipment. The set includes a defibrillator, a medical refrigerator, an infusion pump, an aspirator, an orthopedic bed with straps and a head stabilizer, and oxygen cylinders.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ An exhibition “Beware of the Fragile” dedicated to the destroyed stained glass windows of Mariupol was opened in Vinnytsia. The exhibition is complemented by mini-copies of Mariupol panels “Prometheus” and a fragment of the stained glass window of the Mariupol Chamber Philharmonic, made in classical stained glass technique. The exhibits also include fragments of real stained glass.

Kirovohrad oblast

An exhibition “Angels of Victory” was opened in Kropyvnytskyi. The exhibition features 72 portraits of those who died for the victory, created by Olena Bilozerska, a participant in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The artist creates portraits with a gel pen from her life photographs.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, announced that the next tranche of Mavic cards from Cherkasy oblast went to the military. This time, the marines of the 110th Marine Brigade will receive 10 units with thermal imaging cameras.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, reported that on 21 June, the occupiers attacked 13 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast 384 times, launching missile strikes, airstrikes, drone attacks and rocket-artillery shelling, destructing residential buildings and infrastructure.

Enemy forces launched a missile strike on Zaporizhzhia oblast and carried out 6 airstrikes on Piatykhatky and Varvarivka in Polohy region.

Also, during combat operations, 146 drones of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Novoandriivka. There were 17 rocket-artillery system strikes in Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Robotyne.

Moreover, 214 artillery strikes targeted Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Verbove, Novoandriivka, Novoiivanivka, Robotyne, Levadne, Malynivka and Shcherbaky.

As a result of the enemy attacks, 7 reports of destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure were received. In Polohy region, a man was killed and 4 people injured in Polohy region and Zaporizhzhia oblast. 

According to Ukrenergo, on 22 June, the enemy carried out 8 combined massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. During the shelling, equipment at Ukrenergo facilities in Zaporizhzhia and Lviv oblasts was damaged. In Zaporizhzhia oblast, 2 energy workers were injured. Inspection of the equipment and emergency repair work are currently underway.

Based on the information provided by the Defence Forces of the South of Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders repelled 9 russian assaults on Orikhiv axis and 11 assaults on the left bank of the Dnipro.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv RMA reported that on the night of 22 June, Air Defence Forces destroyed 3 Shahed 131/136 UAVs in Mykolaiv oblast.

According to the region military administration, on 21 June at 11:30am and 12:19pm, the occupiers directed FPV-type kamikaze drones at Ochakiv community. At 11:30am and 12:19pm, FPV-type kamikaze drone strikes hit Kutsurub community. At 9:05pm and 9:54pm, the water area of Ochakiv community was under enemy artillery shelling. There were no casualties reported.

Mykolaiv mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych, informed that from Mykolaiv oblast, the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade of Tavria received 200 modern drones, which will help to destroy the russian military. Also, employees of the executive committee of Mykolaiv City Council raised funds and purchased 3 Starlink stations for the defenders.

Odesa oblast

The russian occupying forces continue to terrorise Odesa oblast, employing the tactic of targeted missile strikes using ballistic missiles. According to the South Air Command, on 21 June, the enemy once again attacked the coastal area of Odesa oblast by an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the temporarily occupied Crimea. The strike destroyed a building belonging to the oblast’s recreational infrastructure and ignited dry grass in an open area. The fire was extinguished, and no casualties were reported.

Artsyz City Council decided to establish partnership relations between Artsyz city (Ukraine) and Metzingen city (Germany), Dettingen an der Erms municipality (Germany) and Bad Urach city (Germany), and to approve a Memorandum of Intermunicipal Solidarity Partnership. This decision was made at the session of Artsyz City Council on 21 June. The memorandum envisages solidarity cooperation and provides assistance and support to Artsyz City Council to help Ukraine, which has been severely affected by russian aggression.

Kherson oblast

According to the press service of the South Air Command, on the night of 22 June, Air Defence Forces shot down a russian Shahed-136/131 strike drone over Kherson oblast.

As reported by the regional military administration, on 21 June, Antonivka, Prydniprovsk, Veletenske, Bilozirka, Kizomys, Tomyna Balka, Poniativka, Inzhenerne, Burhunka, Novooleksandrivka, Mykhailivka, Novovorontsovka, Tiahynka, Olhivka, Lvove, Havrylivka and Kherson came under enemy attack and airstrikes. The russian military targeted an administrative building and residential area in the oblast, damaging a high-rise building, 3 private houses and outbuildings.

On 22 June, the occupiers shelled Kherson. 2 residents who came under russian attack in Dniprovskyi district were taken to the hospital. Another strike on the city occurred at around 3pm, injuring 2 men aged 37 and 44, both sustaining blast injuries.

Also, the russians continue to attack residents of Beryslav region by drones. A Novovorontsovka resident was injured by an explosive dropped from a drone, resulting in a 20-year-old man suffering a blast injury and a leg wound.

In Kindiika village, 2 people were injured due to an enemy strike on a residential building. A 25-year-old woman was diagnosed with a concussion, explosive and cranial injuries, while a 52-year-old man sustained an explosive injury and a shrapnel wound to his arm.

In Veletenske, a 49-year-old man was hit by enemy attack and hospitalised with a blast injury and a shrapnel wound to the chest.

According to the communication department of the National Police, an officer died during a drone strike while on duty at a checkpoint in Kherson.

According to the Ministry of Energy, as of the morning of 22 June, 3,972 customers in Kherson are without power due to russian attacks. In total, 6,345 customers in Kherson and 25,800 customers (45 settlements) in the oblast are without electricity.

On 21 June, Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, said that 7 more children were evacuated from the temporarily occupied communities of Kherson oblast: 3 boys and 4 girls, aged 4 months to 13 years. They are now safe and receiving all the necessary assistance. The team of the charitable organisation Save Ukraine worked on the evacuation of children from the TOT.

Also, he reported that the regional communities supported the Ukrainian marines by donating 30 FPV drones and a batch of thermal protective cloaks worth over half a million hryvnias.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

At dawn, during the air alert the Air Defense was on alert in the oblast. As a result of falling fragments of enemy air targets, a house and an economic building  were damaged in Lutsk community. The City Council will help people restore and repair damaged buildings.

Lutsk community sent 4 Mitsubishi L200, 6 Reb Sinytsia, 3 Mavic 3, 2 Mavic 3T, Mavic 3 FMC, Mavic 3E, 25 FPV drones, 3 Starlink, 2 Bandera Power 225s, 2 EcoFlow, 3 Alientech DUO II, 10 batteries to Mavic, 10 FPV drone batteries, 3 RadioMaster controllers, 3 SKYZONE Cobra X FPV goggles, a Scheppach diesel generator and an Alex Hertz single-phase stabiliser to the military thanks to the budget funds.

Zakarpattia oblast

The Regional Council held a meeting of the regional council’s permanent commission on health care, labour, employment and social protection of the population, social support of war veterans, military personnel and their family members. They agreed to provide one-time financial aid to families of deceased residents of Zakarpattia oblast participants in military operations during the introduction of martial law in Ukraine within the framework of the regional Care program.

30 wards of Kharkiv Psychoneurological Boarding School and a Geriatric Boarding House were evacuated to Zakarpattia. From now on, they will be in the department of Mukachiv Psychoneurological Boarding School in the village of Vilshans, Khust region.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

At night, the enemy hit civilian infrastructure. As a result of the enemy attack, over 800 windows in various houses in Ivano-Frankivsk were damaged. The University of Oil and Gas was also damaged. 14 buildings and over 1,000 sq.m. of roofs and kindergartens and lyceums suffered. The City Council is already working on a compensation mechanism.

Lviv oblast

The enemy launched a missile attack on a critical energy infrastructure facility in Lviv oblast. A fire broke out and was extinguished. 67 firefighters and 12 units of special equipment were involved.

Lviv RMA sent 700 kamikaze drones to the front line, including the 9,000th jubilee drone thanks to the Birds of Victory charity project.

The Department of Security and Street Infrastructure of Lviv City Council reported that the British Kier group, with the help of the Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport and the NGO Impact sent reflective overalls, shoes and protective equipment to Lviv utility workers.

The Lvivspetskomuntrans communal enterprise sent a garbage truck to the Zhytlovyk Bilopillia communal enterprise in Sumy oblast. Last year, a garbage truck and 100 waste containers were sent the Parks Kherson utility company.

A mountain climbing session was organised for military personnel and members of their families as part of the Hiking Therapy project. It is free of charge and financed within the regional target program for tourism development . This time they chose to climb Mount Parashka (1 268 m), the peak in the Skolivski Beskydy National Nature Park. The participants covered a 15 km route.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that in Ternopil, state awards were presented to families of the fallen law enforcement officers of the Special Purpose Police Department United Assault Brigade of the National Police of Ukraine Liut.

Over 200 war veterans received new professions at the Vocational Technical Education Center of Rivne oblast. They have the opportunity to master 58 professions. Training here is completely free for combatants and all unemployed people.

Ternopil oblast

109 defenders will receive UAH 10,000 each from the budget of Ternopil community for equipment for a total of UAH 1,09m. In general, since the beginning of the year, 2,425 servicemen have already received such assistance.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

At night, during an air alarm signal, the Air Defense Forces destroyed 3 enemy targets. The places where the debris fell are being established. There were no reports of injured, dead or property damage.

Khmelnytskyi City Council held a meeting with Joslen Kornet, Head of the Reconstruction, Energy, Infrastructure and Environment Department of the EU Representation in Ukraine and a delegation of EU representatives. They discussed stages of implementation of projects financed by the EU within the framework of the Housing for IDPs program.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting of the Regional Commission to consider providing monetary assistance to Defenders, military chaplains, injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity and their family members, as well as family members of fallen/deceased volunteers, Defenders and injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity. At the event, 6 appeals from residents of Bukovyna, who were released from military service due to their health and found themselves in difficult life circumstances, were considered. According to the results of the discussion, all applicants were allocated monetary assistance in the total amount of UAH 135,000.

The RMA reported that Kamianske community allocated UAH 5,000 for school meals for 4 children of the military. 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Kaisa Ollongren, Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, announced that her country and another unnamed country will supply Ukraine with a Patriot system.

Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commissioner for Trade, announced that Ukraine will receive the 1st tranche of russian assets by the end of the summer.

The Council of the European Union approved the start of negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova on joining the EU. The 1st intergovernmental conference will be held next Tuesday.

At a joint press conference on 20 June, senators from both leading parties of the Congress emphasised that the US Senate proposes to recognize the russian federation as a sponsor of terrorism after the signing of putin’s agreement with the DPRK.

Ukraine and Poland held the final round of negotiations on the conclusion of a bilateral security agreement. In total, Ukraine has already concluded 17 bilateral security agreements.

As part of the AGRI-Ukraine initiative, the US government will provide mineral fertilisers for the fall 2024 crop for 9,500 Ukrainian agricultural producers. The aid is intended for farmers from the southern, central, western and northwestern oblasts.

Olena Kondratiuk, Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, announced that Latvia increased the quota for rehabilitation of Ukrainian military personnel to 200 patients per year. The country also provided Ukraine with 67 ambulances and continued training courses for neurosurgeons.
