Since the beginning of the day, the total number of combat engagements along the entire frontline amounts to 64.
The occupiers continue to use aviation and carry out attacks in the eastern and southern parts of our country, as well as in Kursk oblast of russia. The Defense Forces are holding their positions and taking necessary measures to prevent any breakthroughs in the defense.
The invaders persist in using artillery on territories bordering russia. Under enemy fire were the areas of Mykhalchyna-Sloboda and Mkhai in Chernihiv oblast; Ulanove, Ponomarenky, Starykove, and Popivka in Sumy oblast; and Tymofiivka in Kharkiv oblast.
Ukrainian soldiers repelled one enemy assault near Vovchansk towards Kharkiv.
Our defenders stopped two enemy assault actions near Petropavlivka and Zahryzove towards Kupiansk.
Towards Lyman, the enemy is attacking in the areas of Nadiia, Novoiehorivka, Makiivka, and Terny. Seven engagements have been recorded in this direction, one of which is ongoing. The enemy’s aviation also carried out strikes with guided aerial bombs (KABs) on Zelenyi Hai, Drobycheve, and Zelena Dolyna.
Towards Siversk, the occupiers attempted to advance towards Verkhnokamianske but were repelled.
Towards Kramatorsk, the Defense Forces thwarted seven enemy attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar and towards Stupochky. Currently, three engagements are ongoing. The areas of Mykolaivka and Stupochky came under enemy airstrikes.
Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked our troops’ positions eight times in the areas of Toretsk, Krymske, and Ozaryanivka. They also dropped aerial bombs on Kostiantynivka and Katerynivka.
Towards Pokrovsk, the enemy attacked our defenders’ positions 29 times in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Myrnohrad, Kotlyne, Nadiivka, Andriivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne. Eight engagements are still ongoing. KAB airstrikes hit Pershotravneve, Troyanda, and Pokrovsk.
Towards Novopavlivka, two enemy assault actions were halted, and three more assaults are ongoing as the invaders try to push toward Ukrainian positions near Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv, Velyka Novosilka, and towards Pryvilne. KAB airstrikes targeted Kostiantynopil and Novopil.
Towards Kherson, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted one assault near Kozatsky Island area.
Towards Kursk, the enemy attacked our defenders three times. Additionally, they carried out 15 airstrikes, dropping 23 KABs on Russian territory.
In other directions, no significant changes in the situation were reported.
The Ministry of Defense has approved the deployment of a Ukrainian robotic combat system. This is the Droid TW 12.7, equipped with a Browning 12.7 mm machine gun, a tracked platform for the most challenging conditions, and remote control via a tablet. It operates on digital communication and demonstrated its reliability during combat trials, according to Ukraine’s Defense Minister Dmytro Klimenkov.
More than 29,000 citizens have contacted recruitment centers for the Defense Forces. Residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region demonstrated the highest activity, accounting for 14.71% of all applications since the centers’ inception. Slightly fewer applications came from Kharkiv residents (14.69%) and Kyiv residents (14.63%). High activity was also observed in Zaporizhzhia oblast (12.48%) and Lviv oblast (11.65%).

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
According to the General Staff, Tymofiivka came under artillery fire by russian forces.
As of 4pm, Ukrainian soldiers repelled one russian assault near Vovchansk on the Kharkiv axis.
Two assault attempts by russian forces were stopped by defenders near Petropavlivka and Zahryzove on Kupiansk axis.
Earlier, on Kharkiv axis, russian terrorists carried out airstrikes in the areas of Vovchansk and Vovchanski Khutory, while also attempting to breach defensive lines near Vovchansk three times.
Thirteen attacks on Ukrainian positions were recorded on Kupiansk axis in the areas of Stroivka, Pishchane, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Kutkivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, and Lozova. One engagement is ongoing.
Attacks
- Osynove: Two police officers sustained concussions after a russian drone strike hit near their service vehicle at approximately 1:50pm, according to the regional prosecutor’s office. The injured are 28 and 42 years old.
- Kharkiv (Saltivskyi district): Remains of a russian Molniya drone were found in a private yard. No injuries were reported.
- Zolochiv: At 11:07pm, russia dropped three guided bombs on the village, leaving a 14-year-old girl with abdominal and hand injuries from shattered glass, and an 87-year-old woman suffering an acute stress reaction. The attack destroyed three homes, damaged 15 others, several outbuildings, two vehicles, three shops, and power lines.
- Korotych (Pisochynsk community): At 8:57pm, debris from a drone shot down by air defense fell on open ground.
- Pisochyn: At 8:31pm, outside the village, drone debris damaged a road.
- Oleksandrivka (Barvinkivka community): At 5:41pm, a missile strike damaged a non-operational building.
- Basove (Zolochiv community): At 5pm, a 45-year-old man was injured after triggering an explosive device. He was hospitalized following self-referral.
- Konstiantynivka and Rosokhovate (Zolochiv community): At 2:20pm, one guided bomb struck open ground. No casualties or structural damage were reported.
Other News
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that Japanese volunteer Fuminori Tsuchiko will have his stay in Ukraine extended. The decision on permanent residency will be reviewed separately.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
The russian occupation forces are attempting to attack on the flanks near Toretsk, specifically in the areas of Dyliivka and Shcherbynivka. Over the past day, russians launched 19 attacks on Toretsk axis.
The majority of assaults yesterday were stopped by Ukrainian forces towards Pokrovsk. The occupiers attacked 89 times, targeting areas near settlements such as Zelene Pole, Oleksandropil, Yelyzavetivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Zvyrove, Shevchenko, Udachne, Uspenivka, Kotlyne, Nadiivka, Andriivka, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne.
The russian forces also carried out 17 assaults towards Lyman.
According to Serhii Tsekhotskyi, an officer of the 59th Motorized Brigade, the russian army is losing approximately 200 soldiers daily in battles near Pokrovsk.
Yevhen Alkhimov, the press officer of the 28th Mechanized Brigade, reported that Ukrainian forces eliminated a russian sabotage and reconnaissance group (SRG) that had infiltrated the rear of Defense Forces near Krymske on the Toretsk front. The russian reconnaissance group was targeted with a tank.
Attacks
Serhii Horbunov, Head of Kostiantynivka Military Administration, said that russian forces conducted a massive shelling of Kostiantynivka in the morning. The occupiers dropped six aerial bombs, followed by shelling with barrel artillery.
One person was killed, and two were injured due to russian strikes on Donetsk oblast over the past day. The occupiers killed a civilian in Pokrovsk and injured residents in Mykolaivka and Pokrovsk.
The police recorded 3,105 enemy strikes on frontline areas and residential sectors.
The enemy attacked four cities: Kostiantynivka, Mykolaivka, Pokrovsk, and Rodynske.
Thirty-seven civilian objects were damaged, including 23 residential buildings.
In Pokrovsk, the occupiers shelled with Grad MLRS, killing one civilian and injuring another. A residential building was damaged.
In Mykolaivka, russia dropped four FAB-250 aerial bombs, injuring a civilian and damaging 14 private houses, infrastructure, heating systems, and gas pipelines.
In Kostiantynivka, artillery shelling damaged three private homes and a gas pipeline, while in Rodynske, two apartment buildings, three private houses, and a civilian vehicle were damaged.
Luhansk oblast
Russians directed 188 drones at Ukrainian defensive fortifications and nearby villages. According to the Regional Military Administration, this is a record number for this section of the front. Previously, the highest number recorded was 170 UAVs ten days ago. Additionally, the occupiers used artillery five times and carried out assaults near Novoiehorivka, Nadiia, Makiivka and Serebrianka forest.
Luhansk border guards neutralized over 120 occupiers during a week of fighting in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv oblasts. They also destroyed seven tanks and over 60 units of equipment, reported the detachment’s page.
Businesses in the so-called “lpr” have had their re-registration deadline extended by another year. Documents for registration in the russian registry of legal entities were originally due by 1 January, 2025. However, due to the low number of applicants, the term for aligning founding documents with russian laws has been prolonged by another year. This requirement applies to all entrepreneurs operating in the occupied parts of Luhansk oblast as of 30 September, 2022, including those with Ukrainian-standard documentation and those with documents issued by the “lpr” since 2014.
In schools of the so-called “lpr”, russia plans to intensify propaganda by introducing separate lessons on Soviet heroics during World War II. This subject will supplement the existing russian history course and “Conversations About Important Things”, for which the Kremlin is developing specific guidelines. Furthermore, under the guise of educational events, students will be forced to participate in search operations for the remains of deceased soldiers. The proposed changes are awaiting approval by the relevant Russian ministry.
Artem Lysohor, Head of the RMA, reported that in temporarily occupied Sievierodonetsk, only one therapist is available, accepting patients three times a week without phone or internet access for advance appointments.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
According to the regional military administration, as a result of the enemy drone attack on Kyiv oblast, which the enemy carried out during the day, debris damaged a private building and two cars in one of the settlements. There were no casualties among the population.
During the missile attack on Kyiv by russia on 18 January, a couple from Vinnytsia was killed. At the time of the shelling, they were in a minibus in Shevchenkivskyi district, which caught fire due to falling debris. The deceased, 41-year-old Svitlana and 43-year-old Oleksii, were residents of the city of Khmilnyk and had come to the capital on business. They left behind two minor children.
On Sunday, 19 January, an explosive device detonated in the studio of the radio station Army FM in Kyiv. According to Kyiv police, as a result of the explosion, a radio host was injured and hospitalized. Preliminary findings indicate that an army detonator, which was in the room as an exhibit, exploded.
In Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, specialists from Kyivvodokanal replaced a section of pipeline damaged during the russian attack on Saturday, 18 January. Improvement works are ongoing.
Kyiv City Military Administration reported that in the capital near Lukianivska metro station, trolleybus service has been restored after the russian missile attack on 18 January. Eight trolleybuses have returned to their regular routes.
Mobile Rescue Centre for Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine informed that in Vyshhorod on the evening of 19 January, sappers neutralized the warhead of a Geran-2 drone following another russian attack.
The National Police of Ukraine reported that law enforcement officers have notified the commander of russian paratroopers, who killed civilians during the occupation of Bucha, of suspicion in absentia. He ordered the sector at the intersection of Vokzalna and Yablunska to be occupied and to shoot anyone who appeared there. All 12 russian servicemen who killed 16 civilians from 5 to 9 March, 2022, have been identified. Among the dead are a woman with red nail polish, a man on a bicycle, and a volunteer in a minibus, whose photos after the de-occupation of Bucha were circulated by all the world’s media.
The Regional Military Administration announced that the first basic course for preparing the population for national resistance in 2025 has started in Kyiv oblast. The 7-week course includes 17 directions and is designed for 100 hours. Tactical medicine, tactics, UAV operations, and firearms training occupy the majority of the hours. All instructors have combat experience and are veterans of Third Assault Brigade and other legendary units. In 2024, the centre graduated more than 3,000 cadets.
Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of Verkhovna Rada, reported that Speaker of Seimas of Republic of Lithuania, Saulius Skvernelis, arrived in Kyiv for a visit.
In Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska visited a hospital and talked with wounded soldiers and the medical staff who are helping them recover.
On Sunday in Kyiv, the main building of the War Museum hosted the opening of the exhibition project Airport. 242. It features 24 works by artist, volunteer, and soldier Oleh Drobochko, known by the callsign Artist. He was killed in Donetsk oblast in March 2023. The works are created based on photographs by journalist and photographer Serhii Loiko, the author of the book “Airport”, which documents the defence of Donetsk airport.
Zhytomyr oblast
Ukrainian Army recruitment centre is operating in Korosten, where specialists assist in selecting the desired unit and position, taking into account one’s skills, strengths, and preferences. The centre’s specialists will offer advice on the procedures and provide support at every stage until enlistment. Consultations take place without queues or obligations.
Recently, representatives of Santa Clara Monastery Foundation from the Kingdom of Spain visited the border guards of Zhytomyr detachment. The benefactors toured the border areas that were de-occupied by Ukrainian defenders, inspected defensive structures, duty posts, and border guard units. Last week, Sister Lucia donated two Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ambulances and medical supplies to the State Border Guard Service’s mobile border detachment.
A monument has been unveiled in Zhytomyr oblast in honour of the Su-24 crew who guided their burning bomber away from the village of Dovbysh and lost their lives in an aerial battle. The monument stands at the site where the crew perished—Commander Colonel Mykola Mykolaiovych Kovalenko and Navigator Captain Yevhen Viktorovych Kazimirov.
Sumy oblast
According to Shostka Mayor Mykola Noha, on 20 January, russian forces launched a missile strike on Shostka community, damaging four multi-storey residential buildings and destroying an infrastructure facility. Sumy Regional branch of the Red Cross Society has joined the recovery efforts.
The regional military administration reported that on 20 January, air defense units in the Sumy region shot down 22 enemy Shahed drones. Since the beginning of 2025, air defense forces have already destroyed 176 russian drones.
During the night and morning, russian forces carried out seven attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, recording a total of 28 explosions. These included a guided aerial bomb strike (1 explosion), artillery shelling (23 explosions), and the dropping of explosive devices from UAVs (4 explosions). The attacks targeted Myropilia, Krasnopillia, Seredyna-Buda, and Bilopillia communities.
On 19 January, russians carried out 86 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 185 explosions. The attacks targeted 15 border communities.
Yunakivka community: the enemy carried out strikes by FPV-drones (3 explosions), mortar attacks (7 explosions) and artillery (8 explosions).
Seredyna-Buda community: the russians carried out mortar attacks (7 explosions), artillery (11 explosions). They also struck by FPV-drones (4 explosions).
Velyka Pysarivka community: a strike was carried out by FPV-drones (4 explosions), artillery shelling was carried out (13 explosions), GAB strikes (2 explosions) and shelling from a NAR helicopter (8 explosions).
Krasnopillia community: the enemy dropped explosive devices from a UAV (8 explosions), mortar shelling (32 explosions), an attack by FPV-drones (6 explosions) and artillery shelling (17 explosions).
Khotin community: the enemy fired artillery (6 explosions), dropped explosive devices from a UAV (2 explosions), and also attacked the community by a Lancet type strike UAV, as a result of which a car was damaged.
Bilopillia community: the russian military fired mortars (4 explosions), dropped explosive devices from a UAV (10 explosions). A private house was damaged as a result of the fall of a Gerber type UAV.
Richky community: a Gerber type UAV fell (1 explosion), as a result of which a private residential building was damaged.
Znob-Novhorod community: russians fired mortars (6 explosions), dropped an explosive device from a UAV (1 explosion).
Esman community: hit by an FPV-drone (1 explosion), dropped an explosive device from a UAV (1 explosion).
Shalyhyne community: dropped explosive devices from a UAV (3 explosions).
The enemy carried out artillery strikes on the territory of Svesa community (13 explosions), and used MLRS on the territory of Myropillia community (5 explosions).
The Mykolaiv community (2 explosions), Nova Slobidka community (1 explosion) and Putyvl community (2 explosions) suffered by FPV-drone strikes.
The enemy has made several attempts to approach Ukrainian border in Sumy sector, located near the area where Ukraine’s Defence Forces are conducting an operation in Kursk oblast. According to Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, border guards and the Defence Forces are successfully destroying enemy vehicle convoys and sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs) trying to advance towards Sumy oblast’s borders.
Chernihiv oblast
Over the past 24 hours, 19 January, russian troops attacked the border areas of Chernihiv oblast by artillery, mortars, drones, guided bombs, and unguided missiles. As a result of the shelling, a private house and a farm building were damaged.
On the territory of Semenivka community, the following were recorded: one guided aerial bomb strike, 27 tube artillery strikes, 38 mortar strikes, one explosive device drop from a UAV, and one FPV-drone strike. According to Department of Civil Protection and Defence Work, the GAB strike near the village of Ivanivka damaged a farm building.
On the territory of Novhorod-Siverskyi community: 12 strikes by unguided aircraft missiles (UAV), 3 strikes by guided aircraft bombs, 3 drops of unguided rockets from UAVs, 27 hits by cannon artillery. As a result of the shelling of Kovpynka village by cannon artillery, a private house was damaged.
On the territory of Snovsk community, the enemy carried out 2 drops of unguided rockets from UAVs, one hit by cannon artillery and 2 hits by FPV-drones.
The russian military shelled the Horodnia community by mortars – 7 hits were recorded.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that over the past week, russian conducted 132 attacks, resulting in 435 explosions recorded. The enemy forces targeted 27 settlements in the oblast. Notably, the russian army carried out 56 airstrikes using guided aerial bombs, unguided rockets, strike FPV-drones, and Shahed-type UAVs. As a result of these hostile strikes, an agricultural enterprise was damaged—its hangars, administrative building, equipment, and harvested maize were affected. russian forces also struck a farm building, and residential houses belonging to civilians were destroyed.
The Regional Military Administration reported that UNICEF Representative in Ukraine, Munir Mamedzade, visited Chernihiv for the first time, focusing on children’s safety and health.
Thanks to UNICEF’s support, 94 schools in 38 communities and 4 lyceums have received more than UAH 290,000 for kitchen repairs and winter preparations during this school year. UNICEF has also funded repair work at Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital and purchased vehicles, generators, and medical equipment. In addition, youth centres have been established in six communities.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Late in the evening and at night, russian forces shelled Nikopol region by artillery and Grad. The regional centre suffered the most damage, with strikes also targeting Marhanets and Pokrov communities. In Nikopol, 4 apartment buildings, a gymnasium, an enterprise and a power line were damaged.
Also, 4 enemy UAVs were destroyed in the oblast by the Air Command East.
A day of mourning is declared in Kryvyi Rih for the victims of the 17 January rocket attack that killed 5 people.
During the day, russian forces continued to terrorize Nikopol region with approximately 15 attacks. 2 men, aged 39 and 51, were injured and hospitalised in moderate condition. Shelling hit the regional centre, Marhanets and Pokrov communities, by artillery and kamikaze drones. A residential building, enterprises, 5 private houses, 4 utility structures, 2 cars, a greenhouse and power lines were damaged.
Vinnytsia oblast
During the night, air defences in Vinnytsia oblast shot down an enemy UAV. There were no casualties or damage reported.
Viktor Shevchuk, a soldier from Vinnytsia oblast, was awarded the For Diligent Service medal. Known by the call sign Viter (Wind), he is a fighter with the 120th Territorial Defence Brigade and participated in battles near Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Avdiivka and Staromaiorske.
Kirovohrad oblast
During an air raid alert, air defenders in Kirovohrad oblast destroyed an enemy Shahed drone. There no consequences reported.
4 defenders from the oblast were killed in the war with russia:
- Oleksii Dolhonenko from Vilshanka community, who was killed on 13 January 2025, near Zvirove village in Donetsk oblast.
- Andrii Bakun from Petrove, who was killed on 14 January 2025, near Novopil village in Donetsk oblast.
- Serhii Yakovlev from Znamianka, who was killed on 16 January 2025, in combat near Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast.
- Anatolii Kachan from Kompaniivka community, who was killed on 11 January 2025, while on duty near Lozova city, Izium region, Kharkiv oblast.
Vitalina Bevzenko, Police Spokesperson, said that police explosive experts neutralised the warhead of a russian drone in Kirovohrad oblast. The UAV was shot down near the regional border.
Poltava oblast
Olexander Deshevyi, a soldier from Khorol community, was killed on 16 January 2025, during a combat mission. He was 55 years old.
Yulia Perepeliatnyk, Spokesperson of the City Council, stated that an additional 216 portrait structures have been ordered for the Alley of Memory in Kremenchuk, dedicated to fallen soldiers. Currently, there are 324 such boards on the alley. The tender cost is UAH 1.5m, bringing the total number of boards to 540.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, reported that during a night air raid, 15 enemy UAVs were destroyed in the oblast. There were no casualties or damage reported.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
On the morning of January 20, search and rescue operations resumed at the site of the shelling in Zaporizhzhia. A 27-year-old man may still be under the rubble.
Over the past day, the occupiers carried out 319 strikes on 11 settlements. A total of 155 UAVs of various modifications attacked Lobkove, Piatykhatky, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Malynivka, Olhivske, and Novodarivka. Four MLRS strikes hit Lobkove and Novodarivka. Additionally, 160 artillery strikes targeted the areas of Lobkove, Piatykhatky, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Malynivka, Olhivske, and Novodarivka.
There were two reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure facilities.
Towards Orikhiv, the Defense Forces repelled one Russian attack near Novoandriivka.
Mykolaiv oblast
On the night of January 20, air defense forces in Mykolaiv oblast destroyed two Shahed 131/136 drones. No shelling was recorded in the region.
In Pervomaisk community, bomb disposal experts discovered a russian FAB-500 aviation bomb. The explosive shell was destroyed by a controlled detonation.
Odesa oblast
As of 6am on January 20, there were 6 enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, including 2 that are carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to 22 missiles.
Over the past 24 hours, 1 ship passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in the interests of the russian Federation, while 8 ships entered the Sea of Azov.
Kherson oblast
Since early morning on 20 January, the enemy has struck settlements. In Mylovomk, several private houses and the local Invincibility Centre were damaged in the attack. Windows were shattered, and roofs were destroyed. In Tekstylne, russian forces attacked a minibus with a drone. One person was reported injured, a 56-year-old man, who sustained blast trauma and multiple shrapnel wounds to his face and neck. In Stepanivka, a residential house came under fire, with the roof, facade, and windows destroyed. A 39-year-old woman, who was hit by the enemy strike, was diagnosed with blast trauma, a concussion, and shrapnel injuries to her shin.
At noon, russian forces attacked Novodymytrivka in the Bilozerka community with a UAV. A 59-year-old man sustained blast trauma, a concussion, and shrapnel injuries to his face and leg. Around 3pm, the russians shelled Bilozirka. As a result of the artillery attack, a man outside received blast trauma, a concussion, and shrapnel wounds to his arm and leg.
A police car was blown up by a mine during the evacuation of a sick man from Odradokam’yanka. The armored police vehicle triggered an anti-personnel mine with its special protective equipment. Thankfully, no one in the vehicle was injured, and the police successfully evacuated the sick man to a safe location where medical staff were waiting.
During the past day, Antonivka, Shliakhove, Mykilske, Beryslav, Daryivka, Chervonyi Maiak, Bilozirka, Zamozhne, Stanislav, Novoberyslav, Tiahynka, Novotiahynka, Prydniprovsk, Zelenevka, Komyshany, Inzhenerne, Zmiivka, Vesele, Veletynske, Olhivka, Mylohe, Mykolaivka, Monastyrske, Novooleksandrivka, Tokarivka, Ivanivka, Kachkarivka, Kozatske, Lvove, Sadove, Sofiivka, and the city of Kherson were under enemy attack and airstrikes. Eleven private houses were damaged, and private cars were destroyed. As a result of Russian aggression, one person was killed, and two others were injured.
During a nighttime drone attack, air defense forces in the region destroyed one Shahed-131/136 drone.
According to Kherson police, yesterday morning in Antonivka, near a public transport stop, a 59-year-old local man stepped on an anti-personnel mine of the Butterfly type, which detonated. The man received blast trauma and traumatic amputation of his foot. During the evacuation of the victim to a medical facility, the mine exploded under the wheels of a police patrol car, causing damage to the vehicle. Fortunately, no one in the evacuation group was injured.
A utility worker who was injured in a russian UAV attack in Kherson on 17 January sought medical attention. The 49-year-old man suffered blast trauma, a concussion, and a traumatic brain injury. He is receiving necessary medical care.
The Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated 60 occupiers and destroyed 5 artillery systems, 27 units of automotive and armored equipment, 2 air defense missile systems (Buk-M3 and Tor-M2), 5 motorcycles, 2 surveillance cameras, 4 Starlink terminals, and 1 EW station. A shelter, observation post, fire position, generator, ammunition storage, 8 communication antennas, and 11 drone control antennas were also affected.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 1,900 civilians, including activists, volunteers, journalists, local officials, and others, have been kidnapped by the occupiers. Investigations have confirmed the release of 958 kidnapped civilians, while 895 are still being illegally held by the occupiers. The prosecutor’s office has preliminarily confirmed the existence of 13 torture chambers established by the occupying forces in Kherson oblast. Eleven of these are in the de-occupied territories, and two are in the temporarily occupied territories (TOT).
Over the past week, more than 250 residents received free medical assistance from mobile clinics of the Fortitude Charitable Foundation. The team worked in five settlements in Beryslav region: Zahradivka, Svobodnoye, Orlove, Pryhiry, and Novobratkivske. Local residents received help from specialists, including a family doctor, neurologist, endocrinologist, and cardiologist. Medical staff also performed ultrasound exams of the abdominal cavity, thyroid gland, kidneys, and breasts, as well as tests for TSH levels, glucose, and cholesterol. Additionally, patients received free medications and eyeglasses when necessary.

Lviv oblast
A train with a batch of rails produced by the Saarstahl Rail SAS French company has arrived in Yavoriv region. This is the first batch weighing 1,083 tonnes that the French Government provided to Ukraine for the modernization of the railway infrastructure.
The first two donated trams have left Basel, Switzerland, for Lviv. They are expected to arrive in Ukraine in a week. Before being unloaded at the Lvivelectrotrans company, trams must go through all customs procedures.
The RMA held a meeting with Jens Martin Alsbryk, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of the Trade Council, and representatives of the Trade Council of the Danish Embassy in Ukraine. The purpose of the visit is to improve relations with Danish companies operating in Lviv oblast, meet with business associations, and discuss new potential projects and cooperation.
Rivne oblast
The transformation of the Defense of Ukraine subject in Rivne oblast continues. In the oblast, this subject is taught by almost 130 teachers in 43 centers. In the 10th grade, students study the basics of national security and defense of Ukraine, will get acquainted with the principles of management and planning and will study weapons and military equipment. Considerable attention is paid to practical skills: orientation in the terrain, the basics of engineering fortification, and rifle training. The 11th grade program focuses on the development of military technologies, the features of information security, and deepening knowledge of first aid.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil sent 30 FPV drones worth UAH 273,000 to the 105th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade.

Khmelnytskyi community sent 140 FPV drones worth UAH 1,7m to the military.

Military veterans began a journey through the Canary Islands as part of the Titans Under Sail project. The journey will last until January 22. Titans Under Sail is a rehabilitation tour for 10 veterans who are undergoing rehabilitation both in Lviv and abroad. They travel to the Canaries together with travelers who paid for the ticket for themselves and for the soldier. Tour participants explore the world together, share everyday life and communicate.
In Prague, dozens of Ukrainians unfurled a 30-meter-high flag of Ukraine ahead of the upcoming Unity Day.
