It has been the 1208 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back russian occupiers’ advance. On 15 June, there were 86 clashes on the frontline.

Enemy artillery and mortar fire has hit the communities of Velyka Pysarivka, Turya, Vysoke, Prokhody, Bila Bereza, Sosnivka, Brusky, Pokrovka in Sumy oblast; Mkhy, Khrinivka in Chernihiv oblast; and Tymofiivka in Kharkiv oblast.

Airstrikes have hit the settlements of Petrushivka in Sumy oblast; Krasnyi Khutir in Chernihiv oblast. The enemy launched a missile strike on Kremenchuk.

Towards Kharkiv, one enemy attack was repelled by Ukrainian units near Vovchansk, and another clash is currently ongoing near Starytsia settlement.

Towards Kupyansk, Ukrainians repelled five assaults in the  vicinity of Petropavlivka, Holubivka, and Nova Kruhliakivka.

Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out five attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Novoiehorivka, Lypove and in the vicinity of Shandryholove, Torske and Hryhorivka.

Towards Siversk, the occupying forces are looking for weak points in Ukrainian defense near Hryhorivka, where Ukrainian units successfully repelled two enemy attacks.

Towards Kramatorsk, the occupying forces tried six times to advance on Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of Chasovy Yar, Bila Hora, Predtechyne and Kurdiumivka.

Towards Toretsk, Ukrainian defenders repelled five assaults. The enemy tried to advance near Toretsk, towards Novospassky and Yablunivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, russian invaders made 27 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the  vicinity of the settlements of Malynivka, Myroliubivka, Promyn, Lysivka, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Oleksiivka and in the vicinity of Mykolaivka, Novopavlivka. Six clashes are still ongoing. The settlements of Kopteve, Tolste, Razine and Sukhyi Yar were subjected to airstrikes.

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy tried 16 times to break through the defense of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of the settlements of Konstantinopol, Novosilka, Vilne Pole, Novyi Komar and near Myrne, Shevchenko, Odradne, and Bahatyr. Three clashes are still ongoing. The settlements of Novopol, Voskresenka and Myrne were subjected to air strikes.

Towards Huliaipole, the enemy launched airstrikes with unguided air missiles on Zaliznychne, there was no enemy offensive.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy did not conduct any active actions.

Towards Kherson, the enemy has not conducted any offensive actions, but has launched an air strike on Odradokamyanka.

Towards Kursk, there were 11 clashes, three of which are ongoing. In addition, the enemy launched one air strike, dropping one guided bomb, and carried out 129 artillery attacks, including eight from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the remaining directions, there were no significant changes.

 

Another 1,200 bodies of the fallen have been recovered as part of repatriation efforts. This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. All necessary examinations and identification procedures will be carried out in the near future.

In June alone, Russia has already used around 2,800 attack drones, nearly 3,000 guided aerial bombs, and 140 missiles of various types. This was reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline

The RMA reports that there were 203 combat clashes.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy carried out offensive actions three times in the vicinity of the settlements of Lyptsi and Krasne Pershe.

Towards Kupiansk, there were five attacks by the invaders. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the vicinity of the settlements of Kindrashivka, Petropavlivka and near Holubivka and Novoplatonivka.

Bohdan Petrenko, Head of the communications department of the 48th separate artillery brigade, reports that in Dvorichna, a “kill zone” is observed for the russians. This is the zone where the greatest destruction of any personnel occurs.

 Shelling

The city of Kupiansk, Kharkiv oblast, was subjected to enemy strikes. There were no casualties.

The enemy used 4 unguided aircraft missiles in the Kharkiv region.

A private house was damaged in the city of Kupyansk.

Other

The city council press service reported that a training center and shelter have been opened in Kharkiv at a vocational school. It is noted that the newly created training center will train installers of sanitary systems and equipment. Its graduates will become specialists engaged in the installation and maintenance of water supply, sewage, heating and ventilation networks in residential and industrial buildings.

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

Serhii Khominskyi, press officer of the 100th Motorized Rifle Brigade, reports that the russian army continues the assault on Toretsk, using all available tactics. For 11 months, russian troops have been unable to capture it. Capturing the city could open the way to Kostiantynivka and Kramatorsk.

The General Staff reported that the defense forces repelled 58 russian assaults towards Pokrovsk in a day in the vicinity of the settlements of Malynivka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Horikhove and in the vicinity of Myrne, Novoukrainka, Muravka, and Oleksiivka.

Another 34 attempts to break through the defensive lines of Ukrainain troops were stopped by the Armed Forces of Ukraine towards Novopavlivka near the settlements of Rozlyv, Bahatyr, Novosilka and towards Novomykolaivka, Zaporizhzhia, Dachne, Shevchenko, and Vilny Pole.

Shelling

The police recorded 2,975 strikes.

The russian military covered the cities of Bilytske, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Rodynske with fire, and the villages of Andriivka, Dmytro-Daryivka, Novyi Donbas, and Pleshchiivka. 26 civilian objects were destroyed, including 14 residential buildings.

The occupiers hit Myrnohrad with a Geran-2 UAV, one person was injured, and a private house was damaged.

The enemy shelled Pokrovsk with artillery and drones – one person was injured, two houses were destroyed.

As a result of drone attacks, the following were damaged: in Rodynske – an educational institution, in Bilytske – an apartment building, in the village of Novyi Donbas – a cafe and a car.

In Kramatorsk, an enterprise was damaged due to an attack by a Geran-2 UAV.

Kostyantynivka was hit by Smerch MLRS – 5 apartment buildings, garages, and a car were destroyed.

In Andriivka, enemy drones damaged 5 homes, 3 garages, and in Dmytro-Daryivka, an educational institution.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy has significant artillery support on this section of the front. The russian army launched 21 assaults towards Lyman. The assault, in particular, was repelled in Serebrianka forest.

Residents of Novodruzhesk, near Lysychansk, have been waiting for the restoration of electricity supply for more than three years.

In the occupied Toshkivka in Luhansk oblast, less than 100 people remain – about 2% of the number of residents who lived before the start of the full-scale invasion. During the assault operations, russian troops destroyed critical infrastructure and housing there. For the fourth year, the occupiers have been saying that it is still impossible to carry out restoration work.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

At the forum ‘Regional Development Strategy: Synergy of Business, Government, and Education,’ Mykola Kalashnyk, head of Kyiv Regional State Administration, reported that 21,000 of the 30,000 destroyed or damaged objects in Kyiv oblast have already been restored. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, more than 500 international delegations have visited Kyiv oblast. Thanks to their support, 21,000 of the 30,000 destroyed or damaged objects have already been restored.

On 12 June, the Ukrainian Women’s Guard held a training session as part of the ‘Mine Safety: Lives Saved’ project. Training on the risks associated with explosive objects was provided to 4th and 10th grade students of the Malsnitsky Academic Lyceum of the Fastiv City Council.

The fourth stage of the All-Ukrainian tournament for war veterans ‘Strong Ukraine’, organised by the Strongman Federation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, took place in Irpin. The event brought together more than 250 participants and guests from all over the country – veterans, military personnel, representatives of law enforcement agencies and families of defenders.

A collection of poems entitled ‘Poetry for Peace’ by Ukrainian children and teenagers sharing their thoughts about war and dreams of peace was presented in Kyiv. The book contains 30 poems selected from over 8,000 works submitted by children as part of the global initiative ‘Poetry for Peace’. 

Zhytomyr oblast

The head of Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, reported that at the end of the school year, 27 school buses were transferred to communities in Zhytomyr Oblast, 10 of which are inclusive. The communities need transport to organise the transportation of schoolchildren from remote settlements to educational institutions. Last year, communities of the oblast received 16 school buses. The Republic of Estonia also provided 20 vehicles to meet the needs of educational institutions. 

Sumy oblast

 Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that from the morning of 14 June to the morning of 15 June, russian forces carried out nearly 80 shelling across 29 settlements in 12 territorial communities of the oblast. The most intense attacks were recorded in Sumy oblast. The enemy actively used UAV-dropped explosive devices (over 20 strikes), MLRS strikes (nearly 30 hits), and guided aerial bombs (over 10 strikes). Additionally, russian forces launched FPV-drone and UAV attacks on Sumy oblast.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that throughout 14 June, russian forces attacked Semenivka border community in Chernihiv oblast. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (3 explosions), unguided aerial missile strikes (8 explosions), FPV-drone attacks (4 explosions), and UAV-dropped explosive devices (3 explosions). Six settlements came under enemy fire.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the DOC, reports that at night, the defenders destroyed 4 enemy UAVs and a missile. From evening to morning, the invaders continued to attack Nikopol region. They fired artillery and MLRS. They targeted the Pokrovske, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities. An enterprise, 2 private houses, a car, solar panels and a gas pipeline were damaged. The invaders attacked Nikopol region several times. They struck with drones and fired artillery. They targeted the regional center and Pokrovske community.

Kirovohrad oblast

A Sunday action was held in Kropyvnytskyi in support of captured and missing servicemen.

Poltava oblast

Poltava RMA reports that in Kremenchuk community, energy and agricultural infrastructure facilities came under attack. A private residential building, a car, and a power line were also damaged. Direct hits and falling debris caused fires that were contained by the State Emergency Service.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, reports that at night, the defense forces shot down 8 russian UAVs. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 14 June, the occupiers carried out 495 attacks on 14 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy conducted 7 airstrikes on Lezhyne, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Olhivske, Shcherbaky, and Poltavka. 312 UAVs of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Zaporizhzhia, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. Six MLRS attacks targeted Novoiivanivka, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Shcherbaky, and Novoandriivka. There were 170 artillery strikes on Kamianske, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. 91 reports were received about damage to private houses, apartments, cars, social infrastructure facilities, non-residential buildings, and other property. Four people were injured as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia region.

On 14 June, the shockwave seriously damaged Academic Building No. 7 of Zaporizhzhia National University. Twenty-five windows were shattered, and the entrance area and part of the building’s facade were destroyed. The premises of the ZNU Volunteer Center were also damaged. An assessment of the required restoration work is currently underway.

On 14 June, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled one russian assault towards Orikhiv.

Yesterday, 14 June, SES demining teams destroyed seven explosive devices found in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Specialists eliminated a combat part of a Molniya UAV, three grenade launcher rounds, one fragmentation-explosive submunition from a Hurricane MLRS, one artillery shell fuze, and one improvised explosive device.

Mykolaiv oblast

On the night of 15 June, air defense forces destroyed four Shahed 131/136 UAVs in Mykolaiv oblast.

Yesterday, 14 June, the enemy twice attacked Kutsurub community with FPV drones. As a result of one of the strikes, a private house was damaged in the village of Dmytrivka. There were no casualties.

On 15 June, a weekly awareness event was held in Mykolaiv to remind the public about prisoners of war and those missing. More than 250 people took part in the rally. During the event, people also greeted a defender who had recently been released from captivity.

Odesa oblast

As of 6:00 am on 15 June, one enemy carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles was in the Black Sea. There were three enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, including one Kalibr missile carrier with a total salvo of up to 8 missiles.

Over the past day, three vessels serving russian interests passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea, and another two ships entered the Sea of Azov.

Kherson oblast

Four people were injured as a result of russian drone attacks in Komyshany. Around 4:00 pm, russian forces attacked Komyshany with UAVs. Two people were wounded: a 62-year-old woman sustained a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to her shoulder and thigh, and a 65-year-old man is in critical condition with a blast and traumatic brain injury, concussion, and shrapnel wounds to his head, torso, arms, and legs. Kherson RMA also reported that a 53-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man were injured due to a drone-dropped explosive. The woman suffered a blast and traumatic brain injury, concussion, and a shrapnel wound to her back. The man was diagnosed with a blast and traumatic brain injury, concussion, and shrapnel wounds to his head and forearm.

This morning, a resident of Kindiika was hit by a russian drone strike. The 69-year-old man suffered a blast injury and a femur fracture.

In the morning a 69-year-old man was injured in a russian drone attack in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. He sustained a mine-blast injury, a femur fracture, and shrapnel wounds to his legs, arms, and back.

The occupiers also dropped explosives from drones on residents of Antonivka. A 50-year-old man sustained a mine-blast injury and wounds to his legs and head. A 65-year-old victim has an abdominal injury and is in critical condition.

The enemy continues to shell settlements in Kherson and Beryslav regionss using artillery, mortars, and UAVs. On 14 June, Kherson, Antonivka, Mykilske, Bilozerka, Prydniprovske, Sofiivka, Sadove, Beryslav, Burhunka, Novooleksandrivka, Novoberyslav, Monastyrske, and Havrylivka suffered from russian attack. Fifteen objects were damaged by enemy shelling: one apartment building, ten private houses, two gas pipelines, a supermarket, and a mobile communication tower. One person was killed and another injured due to the russian shelling.

It is reported that the russian army made two unsuccessful attempts to attack Ukrainian positions near the railway and road Antonivka bridges during the past day. In total, in the south over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 136 occupiers, destroyed 49 shelters and two firing positions. They also destroyed 13 artillery systems, nine vehicles, six drones including Zala, Supercam, and Orlan-10, two Fagot anti-tank systems, four electronic warfare trench complexes, ten motorcycles, two ATVs, three buggies, ten UAV antennas, five communication antennas, two Starlink antennas, two ammunition storage sites, and one generator.

Police evacuated three more residents from Beryslav. In an armored vehicle, law enforcement officers evacuated three Beryslav residents who wished to leave the dangerous area—two 54-year-old women and a 65-year-old man.

Thanks to the “Casers” initiative, more than 120 residents of Davydiv Brid, Lymanets, Borozenke, and Kalynivske received free consultations, examinations, and rapid tests. The mobile team included a gynecologist and an infectious disease doctor.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The city of Kovel welcomed participants in the Mission Kyiv international initiative, a 2,600km walking march that started on 1 June in The Hague. Ukrainian veterans accepted the mission from veterans from the Netherlands on the border with Poland and will run to Kyiv for the entire next week to cover 600km. The goal of the campaign is to raise €30,000 for the rehabilitation of defenders.

Zakarpattia oblast

The development of border infrastructure in the region was discussed at a meeting chaired by Rostislav Pritsak, Deputy Head of the Border Guard Service. They discussed the construction of a new road to the border with Hungary, bypassing Berehov. The issue also included the allocation of land for the new international border crossing point Dyida – Berehdarots.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

20 children from families of defenders from Frankivsk community went on a summer vacation abroad. The children will rest in the city of Sibenik, Croatia

Lviv oblast

Two more defenders from Lviv oblast are returning home from captivity. Mykhailo Hlyva is from Sokal. In January 2023, he volunteered to defend Ukraine. He served in the 117th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. In November, he was captured by the enemy. Andrii Paranych from the city of Komarno. A few hours after the start of the full-scale invasion, as a first-line reservist, he took up arms and joined the defense of the country. He served in the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Galician Brigade. He went missing in May 2022.

In Novoiavorivsk, children are selling sweets to raise funds for defenders. In Sudova Vyshna, women are tirelessly weaving camouflage nets. The 23rd net is already going to the front to protect our soldiers. Another woven net was sent by volunteers from the village of Koty, Yavoriv community. Hundreds of such nets are already protecting the soldiers.

The Visiting the Bears charity bike ride took place in Lviv oblast. The trip had a noble goal – to raise funds for the modernization of FPV drones for one of the units of the Special Operations Forces.

Rivne oblast

The Dubenskaya Sily event was held in Rivne oblast. This event for veterans and their family members was organized for the second time. Its key goal is to help soldiers socialize and adapt to civilian life.

Ternopil oblast

Since the beginning of the war, defenders and their families have received various social support from Ternopil. Wounded defenders received assistance for treatment and rehabilitation in the amount of over UAH 6m.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

As a result of another prisoner exchange on 14 June, 32-year-old border guard Vitalii from Khmelnytskyi returned to Ukraine. The soldier was defending Mariupol and was captured by the russians during the withdrawal from Azovstal. He had been away from home for three years and one month – he heard his daughter’s voice for the first time.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi community received the 50th truckload of medicines and medical supplies from the Swabia district (Germany). It included medicines worth almost €25,000, an ultrasound machine, 9 metal beds with bedside tables, 5 large tables, dressing materials and other necessary supplies. All of this will soon be distributed among supracluster medical institutions in Chernivtsi oblast.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Ukraine has received another tranche of financial support from the EU – €1bn under the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration initiative. These funds were provided at the expense of revenues received from frozen russian assets.
