It has been the 1207 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 14 June, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 98 times. It is most active towards Lyman, Pokrovsk, Novopavlovka and Kursk.

The border areas were affected by russian artillery shelling, in particular the settlements of Halahanivka in Chernihiv Oblast; Hirky, Prokhody, Turyia, Uhroidy, Bratenytsia in Sumy oblast. The enemy carried out an airstrike on the vicinity of Medvedivka and Velyka Pysarivka.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy is trying to advance to the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Kamianka and in the vicinity of the settlements of Lyptsi and Krasne Pershe. Two attacks were repelled, one clash is ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to advance in the vicinity of Holubivka.

Towards Lyman direction, Ukrainian units repelled five attacks in the areas of Yampolivka, Serebryansky Forest and in the direction of the settlements of Olhivka, Novyi Myr, Torske, and Shandryholove. Five more attacks are ongoing to this day.

Towards Siversk, Ukrainian soldiers repelled an enemy attack. Units of the occupiers tried to advance towards Hryhorivka.

Towards Kramatorsk, there were five enemy assaults. The enemy attacked towards Stupochok and Bila Hora.

Towards Toretsk, russian occupiers carried out eight assault actions on the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of ​​Diliivka, Toretsk and near Pleshchiivka and Yablunivka. Ukrainian units repelled five attacks, three clashes are ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, since the beginning of the day, the invaders launched 35 attacks on the positions of our defenders in the areas of the settlements of Malynivka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Horikhove and in the vicinity of Myrne, Novoukrainka, Muravka, Oleksiivka. Restraining the enemy’s onslaught, the Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 27 attacks. The enemy launched an air strike in the area of ​​the settlement of Krynycha.

Towards Novopavlivka, the invaders launched 14 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian troops near the settlements of Rozlyv, Bahatyr, Novosilka and in the vicinity of Shevchenko and Vilne Pole.  11 attacks were repelled. The fighting is not ceasing.

Towards Huliaipole, the enemy launched air strikes in the areas of the settlements of Huliaipole and Poltavka.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy launched air strikes in the area of ​​Kamianske.

Towards Kherson, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack that attempted to advance in the area of ​​the Antonivskyi Bridge.

Towards Kursk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 attacks by the invaders, two clashes are ongoing. In addition, the enemy carried out four air strikes, dropping nine guided bombs, and carried out 143 artillery attacks, including one from multiple launch rocket systems.

In other directions, there were no significant changes.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports that there have been 4 exchanges of prisoners of war in a week. Most of those released are officers.

According to the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the bodies of another 1,200 Ukrainians, including servicemen, were returned. In the near future, law enforcement investigators, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will conduct examinations and identify the bodies.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline

Towards Kharkiv, the russian federation is trying to advance towards the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Kamianka and towards the settlements of Lyptsi and Krasne Pershe. Two attacks were repelled, one clash is ongoing as of 16:00.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian federation unsuccessfully tried to advance towards Holubivka.

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian units repelled five attacks in areas, in particular, in the vicinity of Serebrianka Forest and Novyi Myr.

There were 225 clashes.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy carried out offensive actions five times near the settlements of Vovchansk, Zapadne and Kamianka.

Towards Kupiansk, there were six attacks by the invaders. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions near Kindrashivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Nova Kruhliakivka and towards Novoplatonivka.

Shelling

5 settlements in the oblast were subjected to enemy attacks. There were no casualties.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons:

▪️4 Geran-2 type UAVs;

▪️1 FPV drone.

In Kupiansk region, an apartment building and 8 private houses were damaged (Kupiansk);

In Izium region, private houses, 2 administrative buildings, a hotel, and 3 cars were damaged (Izium).

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that there is no advance of russian troops from Donetsk oblast towards Dnipropetrovsk. According to him, such reports from the russian side are an information campaign of russian propaganda.

The Commander of the Shershni Dovbusha unmanned systems battalion of the 68th separate chasseurs brigade with the call sign “Feb” says that russian troops do not stop trying to break through to Pokrovsk, but the Ukrainian military is holding back the assaults, destroying russian equipment and striking at the logistics of the occupiers.

The General Staff reported that the russian army has increased the number of assaults to 14 towards Kramatorsk. The previous day, there were half as many attacks. Towards Novopavlivka, the Defense Forces repelled 32 russian attacks, compared to 46 the previous day.

Shooting

Serhii Horbunov, Head of the RMA,  says that at 11:20, the russian army shelled Kostiantynivka with two Smerch missiles and damaged residential infrastructure. There are no casualties. As a result of the shelling, the facades of multi-storey residential buildings, several garages, and a car were damaged.

The russian army shelled Kramatorsk at night with four attack UAVs. According to preliminary information, there are no injuries. Warehouses and a non-working enterprise were damaged.

Yurii Tretiak, Head of the RMA, reports that on the night of June 14, a Russian drone Geran-2 hit Myrnograd, injuring a woman. The city is under shelling by FPV drones, which complicates the evacuation and delivery of humanitarian aid. Some residents are being evacuated by military personnel and volunteers, but some have to walk to safer places. About three thousand people remain in the community, most of them in basements.

The police recorded 2,911 enemy strikes on the front line and residential sector.

15 settlements were under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Lyman, Mykolaivka, Myrnograd, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, the village of Staroraiske, the villages of Vyroliubivka, Dovha Balka, Ivanopillia, Oleksandro-Kalynove, Sviatohorivka, Sofiivka, and Yablunivka. 48 civilian objects were damaged, including 40 residential buildings.

russians hit Yablunivka, Illinivka community, with a drone, killing a civilian, damaging 5 private houses.

There were two wounded in Pokrovsk, a private house was damaged.

The enemy fired two missiles from the Iskander-M OTRK at Druzhkivka; an industrial facility was damaged. In Sofiivka, Druzhkivka community, a russian drone damaged 2 private houses.

In Kostiantynivka, a Molniya-2 UAV hit damaged a private house and a civilian car. In Oleksandro-Kalynove, a drone attacked a private house. In Vyroliubivka, three houses were damaged.

As a result of the hit of the KAB-250 bombs in Ivanopillia, three private houses were damaged, and in Dovha Balka – 18.

The occupiers shelled the estuary with drones and artillery, damaging a private house and an enterprise.

In Myrnohrad, an apartment building was destroyed due to the hit of the KAB-250 air bomb. russian troops attacked Svetohirivka of the Dobropilia community with Smerch MLRS – 4 private houses and an educational institution were damaged.

Information has been established about the death of a civilian in Novodmytrivka of Konstiantynivka community, who was killed as a result of a bomb strike on June 12.

  Other

Mariupol Military Police reported that a journalist from Mariupol, Volodymyr Chertushkin, has returned from captivity. The man spent more than three years in captivity. Some of the returned servicemen were captured during the defense of Mariupol. Most of the released are officers, and some of the fighters are under 25 years old.

Evacuators from the Vostok SOS charity are taking families with children, people with limited mobility, and the elderly out of Kostyantynivka and other settlements in Donetsk oblast, and are also helping with resettlement and document renewal. Due to the lack of places for people with limited mobility, a “queue of life” is forming.

Activists of the Yellow Ribbon movement held a resistance action in occupied Donetsk: they placed graffiti, ribbons, and posters with Ukrainian symbols to support local residents and remind them that Donetsk is Ukraine.

Luhansk oblast

Luhansk RMA reported that in the occupied town of Svatove in Luhansk oblast, another check of civilians was carried out. They went around apartments and houses. Nevertheless, they carefully checked passports and smartphones.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Agency for Reconstruction reported that construction of a multi-apartment residential building has begun in Borodianka, Kyiv Oblast, at 359 Tsentralna Street. Before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the russian federation, there was a nine-storey building on this site, which was destroyed by the russians. Specialists dismantled the destroyed building and began preparatory work for the construction of a new nine-storey building with 105 apartments.

Six reconnaissance pilots received a badge from the State Emergency Service ‘For Courage in an Emergency’ for a rescue operation during the elimination of the consequences of the russian attack on Kyiv. On 10 June, the crews of two Ka-32 multi-purpose helicopters were involved in the rescue operation. The aviators worked in conditions of heavy smoke, high temperatures and strong winds.

As part of the project ‘VARTA: Recovery. Art. Therapy. Adaptation,’ the public organisation ‘Ukrainian Women’s Guard’ held a specialised training course for women in Kyiv – ‘Rehabilitation, recovery, safety and self-defence in crisis situations.’ The training was conducted by Viktor Kraevsky, a leading martial arts instructor and rehabilitation specialist. The training programme combined theoretical training and practical exercises aimed at overcoming fear, strengthening psychological resilience and regaining control over one’s own life.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has transferred the Sea Baby drone to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. This veteran drone is part of the SSU’s fleet of maritime surface drones, which struck 11 russian ships and blew up the Crimean Bridge during the full-scale invasion. It successfully completed several missions and travelled a total of over 4,000 kilometres across the Black Sea. Currently, damage prevents it from being used for its intended purpose, so the boat has been completely secured and transferred to the museum.

A pre-premiere screening of the documentary film ‘No Right to Error’ about the National Police’s bomb disposal experts took place in Kyiv. The film’s protagonists and their families were the main audience. The film tells the story of the war and the work of bomb disposal experts.

Zhytomyr oblast

The regional blood centre reported that on the eve of World Blood Donor Day, 100 residents of oblast came to the Zhytomyr Regional Blood Centre to become donors. The blood and its components collected will be transferred by the institution’s specialists to hospitals in the oblast and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ovruch City Council reported that on 10 June, in the city of Ovruch, memorial plaques were solemnly unveiled on the facade of Lyceum No. 3 and on a stand near the Ovruch Professional Lyceum in honour of the heroes – graduates of these institutions who gave their lives for Ukraine. The opening ceremony brought together the families of the heroes, educators and community residents who came to pay their respects.

Sumy oblast

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed that towards Sumy, there are currently 53,000 russian troops, and fighting is ongoing along the border. He stated that Ukrainian forces are stabilising positions, and the enemy has been halted 7 km from the border. Battles are taking place in Andriivka, Kindrativka, Oleksiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Yunakivka, with Ukrainian forces regaining control over Andriivka in Khotin community.

Mykola Sachenko, Head of Pishchane village, said that around 4am on 14 June, russian forces struck Pishchane, Sumy region. As a result of the attack, two households were damaged. Additionally, according to the Military Administration, property belonging to a local enterprise was also damaged.

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that in Bilopillia community, where power outages occurred yesterday due to russian shelling, electricity has now been restored.

In the morning, Velyka Pysarivka came under attack again, with the enemy targeting residential buildings. Fortunately, no civilians were injured during the shelling.

From the morning of 13 June to the morning of 14 June, russian forces carried out nearly 70 shellings across 21 settlements in 9 territorial communities of the oblast. The most intense attacks were recorded in Sumy region. The enemy actively used UAV-dropped explosive devices (nearly 30 strikes) and guided aerial bombs (nearly 10 strikes). Additionally, russian forces launched FPV-drone and UAV attacks on Sumy oblast.

The Regional Military Administration informed that on 13 June, russian shelling damaged a critical infrastructure facility in Popivka community and private residential properties in Sumy community.

Over the past day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organisations from border communities, evacuated 40 people.

According to Mykola Toryanyk, Head of Khotin community, russian forces most frequently attack Khotin community using guided aerial bombs and MLRS strikes. Currently, no residents remain in the community permanently.

 Chernihiv oblast

Novhorod-Siverskyi community reported that russian forces attacked the border village of Hremiach in Chernihiv oblat, destroying the local school. Previously, russian strikes had already burned down the cultural centre and destroyed the village administration building, kindergarten, fire station, medical clinic, and several shops.

Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that throughout 13 June, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (13 explosions), barrel artillery strikes (11 explosions), and AGS attacks (7 explosions), launched FPV-drone strikes (7 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (14 explosions). Eight settlements came under enemy fire.

according to Kateryna Arisoy, organisation head of NGO ‘Pluriton’, evacuations from frontline communities in Sumy oblast continue. Every day, around 100 people receive assistance at the transit centre coordinated by the NGO ‘Pluriton’. Currently, the centre primarily accommodates people from Khotin, Mykolaivka, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, and Richky communities.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the DOC, says that due to the attack in Kryvyi Rih, enterprises were damaged. From the evening until the morning, the occupiers continued to attack Nikopol region. They struck with drones, and also fired with artillery.

They targeted the district center, Pokrovske and Marhanets communities. According to updated information, a fire broke out due to the evening attacks on Nikopol. 2 private houses and a gas pipeline were damaged.

About two and a half dozen attacks – the enemy does not leave Nikopol region alone. The occupiers again used drones and fired with artillery. They targeted the district center, Pokrovske, Chervonogryhorivka and Marhanets communities. A high-rise building, an enterprise, 3 private homes, infrastructure and a gas pipeline were damaged. The enemy hit Slavianske community of Synelnykove region with a missile. Private houses, cars and power lines were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council informs that four more defenders from Vinnytsia oblast returned home from russian captivity today. 

Poltava oblast

Open city recreational competitions “Live. Fight. Win” were held in Kremenchuk for veterans, military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine rehabilitating after injuries, and people with disabilities.

In Poltava, people gathered for a peaceful rally in support of military personnel who are in captivity and missing. Such events are organized in the city every two weeks to draw the attention of Ukrainians and the world community to this problem.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, reports that during the recent exchange, seven residents of the oblast returned home. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the Regional Military Administration, on the morning of 14 June, russian forces launched at least 5 strikes on Zaporizhzhia. 2 police officers sustained shrapnel wounds to their limbs and were hospitalised. A 62-year-old woman sought medical assistance; she suffered leg fractures and is reported to be in moderate condition. At least 15 apartment buildings, private houses and non-residential facilities were damaged. The shelling affected a humanitarian enterprise, a store and a public transport stop. Multiple residential buildings were damaged by the blast wave.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 2 russian attacks near Nesterianka in Orikhiv region. In Huliaipole region, russian forces unsuccessfully attempted an assault near Malynivka.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, stated that on 13 June, russian troops conducted 438 strikes across 16 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. These included 266 UAV attacks targeting Zaporizhzhia, Mahdalynivka, Kamianske, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne and Novodarivka.

Mykolaiv oblast

Referring to the RMA, no shelling was recorded in Mykolaiv oblast on 13 June.

Odesa oblast

The Ukrainian Navy reported that as of 6am on 14 June, there was 1 russian warship in the Black Sea equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to 6 missiles.

Kherson oblast

According to the RMA, russian forces shelled Bilozirka, injuring a 47-year-old woman. She sustained severe injuries and was transported to a hospital.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, reported that in Mykilske village, a russian drone strike killed a 45-year-old man.

On 13 June, russian forces shelled 23 settlements in Kherson oblast. 5 people were injured. Damaged infrastructure includes an apartment building, 6 private houses, a gas station, a gas pipeline, a garage and several vehicles.

According to law enforcement, in Beryslav, police evacuated a wounded 70-year-old man who had been injured by an explosive dropped from a russian drone. He was transported to the hospital in an armored vehicle.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

A social hair salon has opened in Novovolynsk, providing free services to pensioners, military personnel, displaced persons and the low-income. In just one week, 20 people have used the service.

Zakarpattia oblast

Uzhhorod and the 3rd district of Budapest, Obuda-Bekasmedyer, signed a Protocol of Intent on Cooperation. They also discussed social initiatives and assistance to Ukrainians affected by the war.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

2 military units of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade received 10 DJI Mavic 3 Thermal quadcopters worth over UAH 2.3 thanks to the regional budget within the framework of programs to support military formations in the Carpathian region.

Lviv oblast

Another FPV drone operator training center has been opened in Lviv oblast. The center was created at the request of the West Air Command to the RMA. It has modern simulators and equipment that will help to qualitatively prepare military personnel from all over Ukraine to work with FPV drones.

Mykola Bodak, soldier of the 37th Separate Marine Brigade, was awarded with the For the Defense of Ukraine Order by the President of Ukraine. He was called up for military service in January 2023. He defended Ukraine in the Donetsk and Kherson oblasts. He was wounded. Due to his health, he was discharged from military service in July 2024.

Rivne oblast

The 2nd stage of the all-Ukrainian Defenders Tournament, a veteran football competition organized by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Football Association, took place in Lutsk. The Rivne veterans’ team Mahister became the silver medalists in the West division of the Defenders Tournament.

Ternopil oblast

19 Ternopil defenders will receive a one-time financial assistance for treatment and rehabilitation. Since the beginning of the year, 230 servicemen have already received such financial support.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The restoration of houses damaged by enemy missiles in Krasyliv is ongoing. 84 residents received material assistance of UAH 3.83m from the budget of Krasyliv community. Depending on the damage, one household received from UAH 5,000 to 100,000. Another 22 families who lost their roofs were given slate: 500 sheets from the community’s material reserve, as well as 200 sheets provided by Volochysk community and 100 sheets by Letychiv community.

Chernivtsi oblast

Experienced fighters of the 107th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces, in cooperation with Chernivtsi RMA, continue to conduct training on preparing citizens for national resistance. The corresponding event took place in Velikokuchurivska community. Participants first master theoretical material, and then practice practical skills related to the provision of first aid, fire and tactical training, the use of personal protective equipment, handling explosive objects and UAV control.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Ukraine will attract almost GBP 1.7bn from the UK for additional weapons purchases. Recall that earlier the UK announced an aid package for the supply of drones worth £350m.

The Estonian Ministry of Defense reported that the country delivered a batch of artillery ammunition to Ukraine. The quantity is not specified.
