What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm: 

On March 14, the number of attacks by the aggressor wast 79.

Shelling of border territories continues. In Sumy oblast, the settlements of Budky, Korenok, Ryzhivka, Mala Slobidka, Stepanivka, Khodyne, Starykove, Yastrubshchyna, and Iskryskivshchyna sustained artillery strikes; Kruzhok sustained an airstrike.

The operational situation across the frontline is as follows:

  • Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk: The enemy made two futile attempts to push our warriors from their positions. Additionally, they carried out 51 shellings of settlements and positions, two of which involved MLRS, dropped three guided aerial bombs, and launched one airstrike.
  • Towards Southern Sloboda: The adversary attacked once near Vovchanski Khutory.
  • Towards Kupiansk: The adversary advanced once towards Kurylivka.
  • Towards Lyman: Ukrainian warriors repelled four attempts by the invaders to advance near Drobysheve, Stavky, and Lyman. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
  • Towards Sloviansk: Occupiers tried to approach our positions three times in the areas of Zakitne and Riznykivka.
  • Towards Kramatorsk: The enemy carried out two attacks in the vicinity of Nykyforivka and Novomarkove. One combat engagement continues.
  • Towards Kostiantynivka: The invaders carried out 15 offensive actions near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Kleban-Byk, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, and Sofiivka. Two battles are still ongoing.
  • Towards Pokrovsk: Defense Forces repelled 11 assault actions in the areas of Toretske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Udachne, and Novopavlivka. One combat engagement is not yet finished.
  • Towards Oleksandrivka: The enemy carried out three offensive actions near Oleksandrohrad and Zlahoda.
  • Towards Huliaipole: 14 attacks occurred in the areas of Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Varvarivka, Huliaipilske, and Myrne. The enemy launched airstrikes near Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipilske, Charivne, and Dolynka. Four combat engagements are ongoing.
  • Towards Orikhiv: The enemy conducted no active offensive actions.
  • Towards Kherson: One enemy attack occurred. The settlements of Lvove and Olhivka sustained airstrikes.

In other directions, no significant changes in the situation are currently occurring. No attempts by the enemy to advance are recorded. Ukrainian troops continue to exhaust the enemy along the entire line of combat engagement and in the rear.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Towards Southern Sloboda, the russian army launched three assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vovchanski Khutory, Fyholivka, and Vovchansk. One combat engagement remains ongoing. Towards Kupiansk, russian troops attacked twice towards Kurylivka and Petropavlivka, with one battle still in progress.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported one attack near Vovchanski Khutory towards Southern Sloboda and one near Kurylivka towards  Kupiansk. Over the past 24 hours, there were 153 combat engagements. Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy attempted to break through defensive lines near Prylipka, while towards Kupiansk, they attacked twice in the areas of Novoasynove and Novoplatonivka.

In Kharkiv, an enemy UAV strike was recorded in the Kyivskyi district; preliminary reports indicate a fire broke out in an open area. In the Solonytsivka community, village head Andrii Lytvynov reported a fire in the local ecosystem following a strike, presumably by a UAV. No injuries were reported there, though the fire spread across several hundred square meters.

In Kupiansk, a 63-year-old resident lost her leg due to an artillery strike around 10:50; she has been hospitalized. Additionally, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that a suburban train driver was injured and three of his colleagues suffered acute stress reactions following a russian Geran-2 UAV strike in Vodiane of the Krasnokutsk community on the morning of March 14.

According to Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of the City Military Administration, Bezruky, Leshchenky, Slatyne, Prudianka, Tsupivka, Dubivka, Lobanivka, and Nova Kozacha are completely without power following a russian attack on an energy infrastructure facility on the night of March 14. Approximately 3,500 residents remain without electricity, and restoration timelines are currently unknown due to the critical nature of the damage.

Over the past 24 hours, 18 settlements in Kharkiv oblast came under enemy strikes. The attacks left one person dead and 11 others injured, including two children. In Solonytsivka, a 12-year-old boy was injured. In Derhachi, a 42-year-old woman and a 9-year-old boy were hurt. In Nova Oleksandrivka, a 50-year-old man was killed, while three women (aged 44, 53, and 59) and a 72-year-old man were injured. In Vodiane, four men aged 50, 57, 38, and 19 were injured.

The enemy actively deployed various weaponry against the region:

  • 1 Iskander-M missile
  • 1 MLRS
  • 3 KABs
  • 6 Geran-2 UAVs
  • 4 Molniya UAVs
  • 2 FPV drones
  • 16 unidentified UAVs

Civilian infrastructure damage included:

  • Bohodukhiv region: Private houses and a car in Odnorobivka and Baranivka.
  • Kupiansk region: 14 private houses, a car, a bus (Prykolotne, Nova Oleksandrivka), an outbuilding in Khudoyarove, power grids in Hetmanivka, and a house in Novomykolaivka.
  • Izium region: A private house in Oskil.
  • Kharkiv region: A car in Derhachi, houses and power grids in Zamirtsi and Bezruky, 3 houses in Mala Danylivka, a house and railway infrastructure in Slatyne, and 6 houses with 2 cars in Solonytsivka.
  • Chuhuiv region: An agricultural firm in Bazaliivka.

In Kharkiv, a car rally was held to support Ukrainian prisoners of war and those missing in action. The event coincided with the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer. According to organizer Oleksandr Humaniuk, approximately 150 people participated.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff reported that russian troops attacked 12 times towards Sloviansk near Zakitne, Platonivka, Riznykivka, and Yampil. The highest number of attacks occurred towards the Kostiantynivka direction with 29 assaults, while 25 were recorded towards the Pokrovsk direction.

Russian forces are preparing units for a potential offensive towards the Sloviansk direction. At the same time, the 81st Airmobile Brigade is destroying russian army logistics, artillery, and assault groups. On the night of March 14, the Defense Forces struck russian military targets in Donetsk oblast. An S-300 radar station near Sadove and several command and observation posts in the areas of Vuhlehirsk, Hrafske, and Kermenchyk were destroyed. The General Staff noted that occupier losses are being clarified.

On March 14, russian troops shelled the village of Hromova Balkka in the Oleksandrivka community of Donetsk oblast. As a result, one man was killed and another was injured, according to Anastasia Medvedieva, spokesperson for the regional prosecutor’s office.

At night, russian military struck a market in Kramatorsk with a drone. Over the past day, March 13, the Kramatorsk community was hit six times, reported the Head of the City Military Administration, Oleksandr Honcharenko:

  • At 08:20, russians struck critical infrastructure with a Molniya-2 UAV.
  • Also at 08:20, an FPV drone with a warhead struck a high-rise building.
  • At 21:00, the russian army hit the territory of an educational institution with a UAV.
  • At 23:20, russian military shelled the private sector with a Molniya-2 UAV; a man born in 1972 was injured and is receiving medical care in non-serious condition.
  • At 23:27, the russian military hit a local market with a Molniya-2 UAV, damaging six commercial facilities.

Throughout March 13, russian troops carried out 1,476 strikes along the front line and the residential sector of the region. Eleven settlements were under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, and Mykolaivka; the settlements of Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Cherkaske, and Shabelkivka; and the villages of Ocheretyne, Serhiivka, Starovarvarivka, and Yatskivka. Nineteen civilian objects were damaged, including 9 residential buildings.

In Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, russians injured a civilian and damaged a private house

In Serhiivka, an enemy FPV drone struck near a house—two people were injured, and a civilian car was damaged.

The enemy struck Kramatorsk with four drones of various types—an apartment building, a private house, a commercial pavilion, and an infrastructure facility were damaged.

Druzhkivka was attacked by three enemy FPV drones—a garage and three civilian cars were damaged.

As a result of drone attacks, 2 private houses were damaged in Cherkaske, one house in Shabelkivka, three private homes and 2 cars in Starovarvarivka, and a gas station in Ocheretyne.

Yevhen Tkachov, a representative of the Proliska humanitarian mission in Donetsk oblast, reported that during the evacuation from Druzhkivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, and Osykove, four more people were rescued who had left Kostiantynivka on foot. Among them was an elderly man who had been walking for three days. Additionally, a mother and her child were evacuated from Sloviansk.

Luhansk oblast

The Russians are massively withdrawing equipment from the front lines following an increase in losses from AFU strikes and FPV drones. ATESH agents are recording the movement of vehicles and armored equipment toward Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk.

Towards Lyman and Sloviansk, the invaders carried out 17 attacks, with 12 of those occurring specifically towards Sloviansk. In Luhansk oblast, the enemy conducted shelling using tube artillery and mortars, while seven drones were deployed to carry out combat missions.

In the northern regions of Luhansk oblast, russians intensified checks on men. The number of mobile patrols from russian security structures has significantly increased in the Starobilsk, Aidar, Bilokurakyne, and Markivka areas. They operate along roads where stationary checkpoints are absent, stopping all vehicles and meticulously checking documents, with a particular focus on men.

In the general secondary education institutions of the so-called lpr, guidelines are being distributed to parents regarding the methodology for identifying children’s adherence to terrorism and destructive behavior. Additionally, teachers have advised parents to report such findings to russian law enforcement agencies and reminded them of criminal liability. The pressure from the invaders on the minds of children continues to intensify every year.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, reported that on the night of 14 March, the russian army attacked Kyiv and the surrounding oblast with drones and missiles. As a result of the enemy strikes, four people were killed and 15 injured. Residential buildings, educational establishments, businesses and critical infrastructure targeted. The Obukhiv and Brovary districts suffered the most damage. As of this morning, around 30 damaged sites have been reported.

In the Vyshhorod district, one person was killed and another injured as a result of the shelling. A multi-apartment residential building and storage facilities were damaged.

In the Brovary district, two people were killed and four others injured. Two private houses, a hall of residence, a restaurant, non-residential, office and industrial buildings, storage facilities, a garage cooperative and cars were damaged.

In the Obukhiv district, two schools and a nursery, three private residential houses, a high-rise block, and non-residential and industrial premises were damaged. Cars near a house caught fire.

In the Bucha district, the attack caused a fire in a private house.

Rescue workers, medics, police and utility services are working at all the sites. Relief centres are being set up. People are receiving the necessary medical and psychological support.

As a result of the enemy attack in the Obukhiv district, six settlements have been left without gas supply, namely the town of Ukrainka and the villages of Veremya, Zhukivtsi, Trypillya, Khalepya and Shcherbakivka. In total, that’s 7,911 households. According to gas supply specialists, the supply is expected to be restored within two days.

In Ukrainka, heating has been temporarily suspended in 62 apartment blocks serving 8,367 customers due to enemy shelling. Heating is also partially unavailable in Obukhiv. As a result of damage to the gas supply to one of the town’s boiler houses, heating has been suspended in 64 buildings serving 9,689 customers.

In the Brovary, Vyshhorod and Obukhiv districts of Kyiv oblast, a total of 4,600 customers remain without heating. Energy workers are working to restore the supply.

The Kyiv police reported that on 13 March an unexploded warhead from a russian ‘Geran-2’ drone was found in a wooded area at the entrance to the capital in the Darnytskyi district. The drone’s warhead did not explode and had sustained mechanical damage. Explosive ordnance disposal experts from the capital’s police rendered the device safe and removed it for disposal.

Zhytomyr oblast

On 13 March, a discussion event entitled ‘The Power of Choice: A Conversation with Volunteers’, dedicated to Ukrainian Volunteer Day, took place at the Central City Library in Berdychiv. The event focused on the role of volunteers in defending Ukraine and the personal choices made by those who have stepped forward to defend the country. Among those attending were not only volunteers, but also veterans, volunteers, secondary school pupils and representatives of the authorities.

In the village of Sokoliv, in the Kurnen community, parents and children from the local “Sunflower” nursery held a charity event called “Spring in the Heart”. As part of the event, they raised money for a charging station for servicemen from their community.

Sumy oblast

The State Border Guard Service reported that towards Northern Sloboda, border guards shot down a Shahed-type UAV, after which it fell about 30 meters from a mobile fire group. The blast wave threw one of the soldiers out of the vehicle, but all of them survived.

The City Military Administration and the City Council informed that on 14 March at around 4:30am, a russian strike was recorded in Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy. As a result of the attack, two houses were destroyed, eight residential houses sustained significant damage, and around 30 windows were shattered.

According to the Regional Military Administration, on 13 March, russian forces attacked the residential sector of Hlukhiv community by guided aerial bombs. As a result of the strike, three local residents were injured. A 31-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were hospitalised, while a 43-year-old woman received medical assistance on site. More than 10 private households and several vehicles were damaged.

Kostiantyn Volkov, Head of Nedryhailiv Community, said that on 13 March, the russian army struck an agricultural enterprise in Nedryhailiv community. Two strikes were recorded. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties, and emergency services are working at the scene.

From the morning of 13 March to the morning of 14 March, russian forces carried out nearly 80 attacks on 35 settlements across 17 territorial communities in the region. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, MLRS, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the region lasted 22 hours and 44 minutes over the past day.

Civilian infrastructure was damaged or destroyed:

  • In Krasnopillia community – a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
  • In Bilopillia community – passenger cars were damaged;
  • In Trostianets community – a private house, outbuildings and a car were damaged;
  • In Mykolaivska rural community – a private house and a car were damaged;
  • In Hlukhiv community – private houses, outbuildings and vehicles were damaged;
  • In Shostka community – an apartment building was damaged;
  • In Seredyna-Buda community – a private house was damaged;
  • In Znob-Novhorodske community – a private house and outbuildings were destroyed;
  • In Sumy community – private houses and passenger cars were damaged.

Over the past day, 54 people were evacuated from border communities by local authorities in cooperation with the State Emergency Service, the National Police and civil society organisations.

The Regional Military Administration’s Department for Veterans Policy announced that in Sumy oblast, 104 specialists supporting veterans and demobilised service members are currently working. They provide assistance not only with specific issues but also with basic psychological support, information about education, employment and development programs, and help veterans find support communities and spaces to connect with fellow service members.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihivoblenergo reported that russian drones attacked and damaged an energy facility in Chernihiv oblast. As a result of the strike, 1,835 subscribers were left without electricity. Energy workers have already begun emergency repair works.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported that during the day on 13 March, a russian drone damaged a residential house in a village of Semenivka community. In Kholmy community, an attack drone struck a warehouse of a local enterprise; the fire was extinguished.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment informed that over the past day on 13 March, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy launched Molniia-type UAVs (five explosions), a Shahed-type UAV (one explosion), and FPV drones (20 explosions). A total of 11 settlements came under enemy fire.

During the russian attack on the centre of Novhorod-Siverskyi on the night of 13 March, the historic Medvedev merchant’s house was destroyed. The building was a valuable architectural monument from the late 19th – early 20th century. The ground floor housed a collection of materials by historian Viacheslav Voinov dedicated to “The Tale of Igor’s Campaign”, the local museum-reserve reported. According to Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Regional Military Administration, the library premises located on the second floor were completely destroyed.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, reported that russian forces attacked the regional centre, Pokrovske rural community and Marhanets community by drones and artillery. The enemy also launched UAV strikes on Synelnykove, Bohynivka and Mykolaivka communities, causing fires.

An outbuilding and a private house were damaged. UAV strikes were also recorded in Kryvyi Rih, as well as in Karpivska and Zelenodolsk communities, damaging infrastructure.

In Piatykhatky, a private house caught fire and five houses were damaged. According to updated information, a man was killed in yesterday’s attacks in Mezhova community of Synelnykove region. Four people were injured. Two women were also injured in Marhanets community of Nikopol region.

Drone and artillery attacks in Nikopol and Myrove community injured seven people — women aged 26, 57, 34 and 64, and men aged 35, 42 and 48. The enemy also struck Marhanets, Pokrovske rural and Chervonohryhorivka communities. Fires broke out and damage was reported to enterprises, a hospital, a lyceum, two pharmacies, two administrative buildings, a shop, seven apartment buildings and five private houses, an outbuilding, a post office, vehicles, solar panels and power lines.

Enemy forces also launched UAV strikes on Synelnykove, Mezhove and Raiivka communities, causing fires. A 54-year-old man and woman were injured and three vehicles were damaged. UAVs also struck Hrushivka community.

Vinnytsia oblast

On the occasion of the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded two defenders from Vinnytsia oblast — Ivan Hovorukhin and Denys Kocherha.

Kirovohrad oblast

Verbliuzhka village of Kamianske community in Kropyvnytskyi region, residents paid tribune  to serviceman Ruslan Demchenko. The soldier was killed in Zaporizhzhia oblast. He was 38 years old.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that air defence forces destroyed two russian missiles and nine UAVs over Cherkasy oblast. In Uman region, debris from an enemy target damaged the windows and roof of a social institution.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that 1 person was killed and 18 injured as a result of 4 russian airstrikes. The strikes targeted a residential neighborhood in Zaporizhzhia.

A 32-year-old man was killed in a russian guided aerial bomb strike on Tavriiske.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 13 March, the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled 29 russian attacks in Huliaipole, Orikhiv and Oleksandrivka regions. Combat engagements took place near Stepnohirsk and in the areas of Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Myrne, Olenokostiantynivka, Varvarivka, Zelene, Huliaipilske and Krasnohirsk.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, stated that, 4 people, including 2 children, were injured as a result of a russian attack on Zaporizhzhia oblast. A private house was damaged.

On 13 March, russian forces carried out 780 strikes on the territory of 39 cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, as a result of a massive missile and drone attack during the night of 14 March, an industrial facility in Bashtanka region was damaged. In addition, 3 trucks were damaged.

Odesa oblast

Referring to the Air Force, a UAV moving from the waters of the Black Sea toward Odesa was detected in the airspace over Odesa oblast.

Kherson oblast

Based on the information provided by Kherson Regional Military Administration, at noon, russian forces attacked a civilian vehicle by a UAV in Chervone village in Novooleksandrivka community. A 26-year-old man sustained a concussion, blast injuries and a closed head injury.

At around 2:30pm, russian occupying forces shelled Korabelnyi district of Kherson. A 72-year-old man was injured and preliminarily sustained blast trauma.

At approximately 11:50am, 2 people were injured as a result of a russian strike on a central part of Kherson. A 67-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man sustained concussions, blast injuries and closed head injuries.

At around 11am, russian forces once again struck a central part of Kherson. A 57-year-old man and 4 women aged 55, 52, 51 and 59 were injured in one of the apartments. They sustained concussions, blast injuries and closed head injuries.

At about 10am, 3 children were injured due to russian shelling of a central part of Kherson. A 12-year-old girl and 2 boys aged 11 and 13 sustained blast injuries and acute stress reactions. The youngest child was diagnosed with a shrapnel wound to the head.

At approximately 9am, russian forces shelled Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. 3 women aged 50, 47 and 78 sustained concussions, blast injuries and closed head injuries while inside an apartment.

At around 11:20pm yesterday, an 86-year-old woman sustained blast injuries and an acute stress reaction as a result of an enemy attack in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson.

At about 11pm on 13 March, a 62-year-old man came under shelling in Korabelnyi district. He sustained shrapnel wounds to the back, a concussion, blast injuries and a closed head injury.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Representatives of the RMA held a meeting with representatives of the energy sector of the oblast and got acquainted with the dynamics of the construction of a wind farm in Ivanychiv community. The project provides for the installation of 25 wind turbines with a design installed capacity of 147 MW.

Zakarpattia oblast

Specialists from the Israeli Trauma Coalition held a workshop on professional resilience in wartime for employees of the RMA and social services. Experts shared crisis support techniques and approaches to overcoming constant tension and uncertainty.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk community sent a thermal imager and necessary computer equipment to the Military Unit A1807.

Lviv oblast

Over UAH 100m was raised during the joint project of the Return Alive Foundation and Cars that… Lviv RMA. With these funds, over 80 units of transport and about 200 UAVs of various types were purchased.

Luis Toledo, father of the Brazilian volunteer, traveled over 10,000 km to come to Lviv to visit his son’s grave. Luis Felipe Vieira Toledo Porto was killed in late November 2025 while defending Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that over the past 2 years, 50 evacuation trains have arrived in the region, carrying 1,427 people.

Ternopil oblast

The fighters of the Lyubart Unit received 10 DJI Matrice 4E quadcopters from Ternopil community.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

By Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 236/2026, the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree was awarded to Serhii Melnyk, participant in hostilities, teacher at Shepetivka Professional Lyceum. After completing his military service in 2023, he returned to teaching. Today, he teaches young people the Defense of Ukraine subject and is actively involved in military-patriotic education.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that Sergeant Andrii Malii was awarded with the III degree Order of Courage (posthumously).

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Crown Prince of Iran Reza Pahlavi. The issues discussed were the situation in the Middle East, the mood in Iranian society, and the state of power in Iran.
