War in Ukraine today: latest news, 14 June 2026 (photo)

It has been the 1572nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:  

On 14 June, the aggressor attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 44 times.

Artillery shelling of border areas continues. In Sumy oblast, the settlements of Ryzhivka, Korenok, Ulanove, Neskuchne, Rohizne, Budky, Potapivka, Bunyachyne, Luzhky, Bezsalivka, Stara Huta, Kozache, Atynskyi, Sukhodil, Bachivsk, Kharkivka, Malushyne, and Havrylova Sloboda came under fire; in Chernihiv oblast – Senkivka and Klyusy.

  • Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there was one combat engagement. The invaders launched three airstrikes using six guided aerial bombs and carried out 24 shellings, including one involving the use of MLRS.
  • Towards Southern Sloboda, the invaders made three attempts to break through the defense in the vicinity of Hraniv and Vovchansk. One engagement is currently ongoing.
  • Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders halted one enemy attempt to advance towards Kurylivka.
  • Towards Lyman, Ukrainian warriors repelled ten attempts by the invaders to advance in the vicinity of Drobysheve, Ozerne, Lyman, Dibrova, and near Yampol.
  • Towards Slovyansk, the Defense Forces successfully halted five attempts by the invaders to push forward near the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka, and near Zakitne.
  • Towards Kostiantynivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven attacks near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Stepanivka. Three engagements are currently ongoing.
  • Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers have attempted nine times to dislodge Ukrainian warriors from their positions in the vicinity of Udachne, Bilytske, Shevchenko, Serhiivka, and Dorozhne.
  • Towards Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Kherson, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.
  • Towards Huliaipole, the Defense Forces successfully repelled eleven enemy attacks in the vicinity of Dobropillia and Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Hirke, Verkhnia Tersa, Zaliznychne, Vozdvyzhivka, and Charivne.

In other directions, there were no significant changes in the situation at this time. No enemy attempts to advance were recorded.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The russian army struck the Lozova railway station in Kharkiv oblast with drones. As a result of the attack, a train driver and an assistant train driver sustained injuries, the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine reported on 14 June. Both injured railway workers were provided with medical assistance. The russian attack also damaged locomotives, the ministry stated.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of the community, reports that on the morning of 14 June, from 08:30 to 09:20, Russian servicemen launched strikes with 9 guided aerial bombs on Zolochiv community in Kharkiv oblast. Three guided aerial bombs struck Odnorobivka, destroying the canteen premises of a local agricultural enterprise. Another six aerial bombs hit near the villages of Petrivka and Berezivka. Data on casualties and destruction are being clarified.

The State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast reported that on the morning of 14 June, the russian army attacked a private house in Velykyi Burluk, Kupiansk region, with a drone. A fire broke out at the site of the hit, covering an area of 150 square meters. No people were injured.

The regional police reported that at around 5:00 AM on 14 June, a 58-year-old woman was injured in Lozova region as a result of a russian drone attack. She was outside at the time of the explosion. The injured woman is a resident of the village of Ukrainske, Lozova community.

Zolochiv Settlement Council reported that forty-five-year-old Serhii Porozhniak died from injuries sustained on 16 May 2026 as a result of a russian FPV drone strike in Zolochiv. A few months before his death, the man had evacuated to Zolochiv with his family from Klynova-Novoselivka, hoping for a safer life.

Volodymyr Bielii, Mayor of Bohodukhiv, informs that since April 2026, 1,085 residents, including 166 children, have been evacuated from Bohodukhiv community in Kharkiv oblast. Another 401 people still remain in the mandatory evacuation zone. According to him, over the past two months, 89 private houses and 61 apartments in 16 apartment buildings have been damaged in the community. Educational institutions, shops, cafes, private enterprises, administrative buildings, and a farm were also damaged.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that on the night of 14 June, the Defense Forces attacked six Russian army targets in Donetsk oblast. In Kleban-Byk, the Ukrainian military hit a UAV control post and a logistics depot. In Priazovske, they struck an occupiers’ field artillery depot. Concentrations of russian military personnel were hit in the areas of Yablunivка, Novoeconomichne, and Bahatyr.

Dmytro Zaporozhets, Spokesperson for the 11th Army Corps, informs that it has become more difficult for the Ukrainian military to carry out logistics to the frontline city of Chasiv Yar due to the complicating situation towards Kostiantynivka. The Ukrainian military is also countering russian logistics within the corps’ area of responsibility. Over the last quarter, russian losses in automotive equipment have been increasing every month.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, reports that over the past day, 13 June, russian servicemen killed 3 residents of Donetsk region—in Sloviansk. Another 9 people in the region sustained injuries over the day. In total, the russians shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 30 times. From the front line, 587 people, including 59 children, were evacuated.

The consequences of russian attacks over the day of 13 June in Donetsk region: in Kramatorsk, 2 cars were damaged; in Sloviansk, 3 people were killed and 9 injured, while 24 apartment buildings, an administrative building, a dormitory, and 3 cars were damaged; in Novodonetske, a two-story building was damaged; in Iverske and Samiilivka—one private house each; in Novoiverske—a power line; in Kurytsyne—an industrial zone; in Druzhkivka, a person was injured and 2 private houses were destroyed.

Vadym Liakh, Head of the City Military Administration, informs that at around 17:00 on 13 June, a truck driver was injured during the shelling of the outskirts of Sloviansk in Donetsk region. A Molniya-2 unmanned aerial vehicle struck a vehicle moving along a street on the outskirts of the city. The driver sustained severe injuries. A passenger car moving next to the truck was also damaged.

Volodymyr Rybalkin, Head of the Sviatohirsk City Military Administration, reports that over the past week, 30 residents, including six children, were evacuated from the frontline Sviatohirsk community in Donetsk region. According to him, russian troops continue to shell settlements with aerial bombs and launch drones carrying incendiary substances. Moving by car or on foot between the settlements of the community is dangerous.

Luhansk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that on the night of 14 June, the Ukrainian military hit two locations in Luhansk oblast. In Sokolohirsk, they attacked a workshop for the production and equipment of ammunition for the russian army’s heavy drones. In Malokostiantynivka, they struck a concentration of the occupiers’ personnel.

Luhansk Oblast Military Administration reports that over the past day, 13 June, during enemy shellings of the region’s territory, russian army personnel launched mortar strikes four times, deployed automatic grenade launchers and drones twice each, and targeted areas with tube artillery in five instances. The enemy conducted assaults near Novoiehorivka and Nadiia.

Luhansk Oblast Military Administration informs that the russian “authorities” in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk oblast have banned the sale of gasoline into canisters amid a fuel crisis.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On 12 June, a patriotic event entitled ‘Child Heroes’ took place in Yasnogorodka, in Kyiv oblast. It is being held in Ukraine for the second year running on the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This year, 10 children from different parts of the country were honoured for their bravery, having suffered as a result of Russian aggression, as well as for their support of the military, their resilience and unbreakable spirit in difficult life situations. Among the children who received the award were: 15-year-old Kalina Paprotska from Korosten, who shielded her 2-year-old niece with her own body during russian shelling; 9-year-old Maria Krasota from =Vinnytsia oblast, who single-handedly carried her two younger brothers out of a fire and tried to put out the flames; 14-year-old Rostyslav Pachkovskyi and 17-year-old Oleksandr Kazarian, who were among the first to rush to rescue people during the russian attack with guided bombs on Zaporizhzhia on 5 May.

According to the Kyiv Regional State Administration, the reconstruction of the Olizariv Lyceum in the Ivankiv community, which was damaged during the russian occupation, has been completed. Following the reconstruction, the lyceum has been transformed into a modern educational facility with refurbished classrooms, a sports hall, a canteen, a resource room, a psychologist’s office and a shelter. From 1 September, students will be able to return to full-time in-person learning.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, stocks of donated blood and its components in Kyiv are currently sufficient to meet the needs of medical facilities. However, there is a shortage of blood with a negative Rhesus factor in the capital, and due to the war, the need for donations remains high. Blood can be donated in the capital at the Kyiv City Blood Centre. There are also two mobile teams operating in the city, conducting blood donation drives at businesses, institutions and organisations.

The winners of the main competitions at the Docudays UA-2026 human rights documentary film festival have been announced. The event took place in Kyiv from 5 to 12 June, with the main screenings and the opening ceremony held at the Zhovten cinema. This year’s programme addressed themes of war, religious scandals, human dignity and the right to die. Despite the challenging circumstances, Ukrainian documentary filmmaking has once again demonstrated its high standard – based on materials from Detekor Media.

Zhytomyr oblast

In the run-up to World Blood Donor Day, which is recognised on 14 June, over 200 people came to the Zhytomyr Regional Blood Centre to give blood. The director of the medical facility, Andrii Pavlusenko, reported this.

On 13 June, a travelling exhibition of photographs of soldiers from the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Polissya Brigade opened at the municipal art space ‘Vezha’. The exhibition features over 70 photographs depicting the life of the brigade – combat operations, training, evacuation and the soldiers’ leisure time.

Sumy oblast

The State Emergency Service of Sumy oblast reported that beginning on the evening of 13 June, Putyvl came under russian attack. As a result of the enemy strikes, a fire broke out. While firefighters were extinguishing the blaze, the enemy launched a repeated strike on the area where rescuers were operating. No personnel were injured, as all staff managed to move to a safe location in time. Following the second strike, fires broke out in a residential area. Private homes, garages and outbuildings were burning. By the morning of 14 June, all fires had been extinguished.

From the morning of 13 June to the morning of 14 June, russian forces carried out more than 40 attacks on 22 settlements across 14 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 17 hours and 39 minutes during the reporting period.

As of the morning of 14 June, three people had been injured as a result of enemy attacks across Sumy oblast over the previous 24 hours. Destruction and damage to private homes, vehicles and civilian infrastructure facilities were also recorded:

▪️ In Myropillia community, a 69-year-old man was injured after an enemy drone struck a bicycle;

▪️ In Hlukhiv community, private residential houses and outbuildings were damaged;

▪️ In Sumy community, a 44-year-old man was injured in an enemy drone strike, and a non-residential premises was damaged;

▪️ In Seredyna-Buda community, private residential houses, outbuildings, non-residential premises and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;

▪️ In Bilopollia community, a 51-year-old man was injured in a russian drone strike, and a vehicle was damaged;

▪️ In Shostka community, a civilian infrastructure facility and non-residential premises were damaged;

▪️ In Putyvl community, an apartment building and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;

▪️ In Esman community, private residential houses and outbuildings were destroyed;

▪️ In Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, a private residential house was damaged;

▪️ In Znob-Novhorodske community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.

Chernihiv oblast

The National Police of Chernihiv oblast reported that during the day on 13 June, the enemy struck near the territory of a private household in Pereliub village, Koriukivka region, using a drone. As a result of the attack, a private residential house was damaged.

Overall, during 13 June, the regional police received 11 reports of offences and incidents related to russian military aggression. The enemy carried out three attacks on three settlements.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment informed that on 13 June, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar attacks (18 explosions), artillery strikes (17 explosions), FPV drone attacks (3 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (3 explosions). A total of eight settlements came under enemy fire.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that the enemy continues to attack Vasylkivka community by guided aerial bombs. This time, 10 aerial bombs were used.

A fire broke out. Three private houses and one apartment building, a farm, a vehicle, two tractors, an administrative building, a Centre for Administrative Services, a bank and an arts school were damaged.

An FPV drone strike in Sloviansk community damaged a private residential house.

The occupiers attacked Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovske rural community and Pokrovske community by artillery and drones. Fires broke out. An administrative building, a post office, a private house, an outbuilding and an enterprise were damaged.

An FPV drone attack in Hrushivska community damaged a shop.

In Nikopol, three people were injured, including a 16-year-old girl. The occupiers attacked Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovske rural community and Tomakivka community by artillery and drones.

Three apartment buildings, a shopping centre, a dental clinic, an administrative building, a lorry and infrastructure facilities were damaged.

A man was killed in a multiple launch rocket system attack on Ukrainka community.

A dormitory, five private homes, a kindergarten, a house of culture, a school and three vehicles were damaged.

The enemy also carried out an FPV drone strike on Zelenodolsk community.

Vinnytsia oblast

In Vinnytsia, people paid tribute to Lieutenant Colonel Roman Valchuk of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The serviceman took part in the defence of Ukraine during the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation. After the start of the full-scale invasion, despite already being retired, he returned to military service.

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy, “Do Not Stay Silent — Captivity Kills” rally was held in support of prisoners of war and missing servicemen.

Around one hundred people gathered with flags and placards, including relatives and friends of defenders, as well as concerned local residents.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that a 44-year-old man was killed and a 17-year-old boy was injured as a result of a russian attack on Zaporizhzhia oblast. An enemy FPV drone exploded near people at a public transport stop.

One person was killed and 4 injured in a russian attack on a vehicle in Bilenke.

On 14 June, russian forces attacked passenger vehicles in Kushuhum by drones. A 49-year-old man, a 53-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were injured.

The russian military attacked Zaporizhzhia oblast. In one of the settlements, a private house was damaged. Part of the house was destroyed and a fire broke out.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 13 June, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 35 russian attacks on Huliaipole and Orikhiv regions. Combat engagements were recorded near Stepne, Stepnohirsk, Rybne, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipilske, Ternuvate, Zaliznychne, Verkhnia Tersa, Charivne and in the directions of Hirke, Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka and Prymorske.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, stated that 1 person was killed and 3 injured as a result of russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Polohy region. On 13 June, russian forces carried out 830 strikes on 41 settlements across Zaporizhzhia oblast. Most of the attacks were carried out by drones, primarily FPV drones.

Mykolaiv oblast

Based on the information provided by Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, in Mykolaiv, russian forces targeted transport and energy infrastructure facilities. There were no casualties reported.

On the evening of 13 June, the russian military attacked Kutsurub community by a Molniya UAV. As a result, a private house was damaged in Dmytrivka village. There were no injuries reported. Also, russian forces carried out 2 FPV drone attacks on Ochakiv community. 

Odesa oblast

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, today, UAVs were detected in the airspace over the Black Sea heading toward Chornomorske and Pivdenne.

During the night, russian UAVs were moving toward Bolhrad, Chornomorsk, Lymanka, Vylkove, Katlabuh, Karolino-Buhaz, Odesa, Maiaky, Zatoka and Serhiivka, mostly from the south.

Relying on the information provided by the Regional Military Administration, during the day on 13 June, russian forces launched 2 Kh-59 guided air-launched missiles at Odesa oblast. The missiles were launched from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.

Kherson oblast

Referring to Kherson Regional Military Administration, on 14 June at around 10am, a 59-year-old man was injured in a russian drone attack in Korabelnyi district of Kherson. He was diagnosed with blast and closed traumatic brain injuries, a concussion, contusion and a shrapnel wound to the chest.

Yesterday, a 61-year-old woman came under a russian UAV attack in Sofiivka, Stanislav community. She sustained a blast injury.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Myroslav Styber, father of Polish volunteer Daniel Styber, who was killed during hostilities in Ukraine in 2022, donated a car for the needs of the Ukrainian military. The man says that he continues the volunteer work that his son began during his lifetime.

Zakarpattia oblast

Over 240 children of defenders from Kyiv, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts successfully completed the 1st Carpathian Shift in the oblast. For 2 weeks, sports activities, excursions, quests and creative workshops were organized for them in Uzhhorod, Mukachevo and Khust to help them recharge and relax from their anxieties.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Another group of children of Defenders and fallen Heroes went on vacation abroad. This time, to Sibenik, Croatia.

Lviv oblast

Blago became a partner of the international forum Lviv Academic Bridge 2026: Ukraine–US Science & Education Forum, which brought together Ukrainian and American educators, scientists, business and public sector representatives. The event became a platform for developing academic cooperation between Ukraine and the US, launching new research projects, and creating opportunities for students, young professionals and scientists.

Rivne oblast

In Rivne oblast, the relevant commission agreed to provide partial compensation for the cost of diesel fuel for 14 more agricultural producers in the oblast. The total amount of support is UAH 846,000.

Ternopil oblast

45 defenders from Ternopil will receive a one-time cash grant to purchase equipment. Since the beginning of the year, 2,774 soldiers from the community have received this assistance, and in 2025, funds were provided to 3,243 soldiers.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

170 military personnel from Khmelnytskyi community who need treatment or rehabilitation received financial assistance. The total amount of assistance is UAH 2.3m.

Chernivtsi oblast

A banner in honor of warrior Taras Shevchenko was installed and consecrated on the Alley of Heroes of Yurkovets community. The Hero’s family and friends, representatives of local authorities, clergy and community residents gathered at the solemn ceremony.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The UK has carried out its first ever seizure of a russian-linked vessel. British security forces boarded the tanker “Smyrtos” at night and took control of the vessel. The seizure of the vessel was part of measures to counter the activities of the so-called ‘shadow fleet’, which russia uses to circumvent international sanctions and transport oil.
