It has been the 1540  th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

On 13 May, the aggressor attacked positions of the Defense Forces 62 times.

Artillery shelling of border areas continues. In Sumy oblast, the settlements of Sopych, Korenok, Potapivka, Yastrubshchyna, Baranivka, Malushyne, Ulanove, Bachivsk, and Peremoha were affected; in Chernihiv oblast – Senkivka and Hirsk. Bachivsk in Sumy oblast also sustained an airstrike.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, one combat engagement took place; the enemy carried out 47 attacks on settlements and positions of our troops, four of which involved multiple launch rocket systems, and launched one airstrike using three guided bombs.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy stormed positions of Ukrainian units eight times in the vicinity of Lyman and Starytsia.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders stopped an enemy attempt to advance in the vicinity of Borivska Andriivka.

Towards Lyman, the invaders’ attempt to advance in the vicinity of Drobysheve was unsuccessful.

Towards Sloviansk, the enemy did not conduct active offensive operations.

Towards Kramatorsk, Ukrainian protectors stopped two enemy attacks in the area of Nykyforivka.

Towards Kostiantynivka, the invaders carried out seven attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, and Stepanivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers have tried 19 times to push Ukrainian warriors from their positions in the vicinity of Novopavlivka, Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Bilytske, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Udachne, Serhiivka, Novomykolaivka, and Novopidhorodne. Three combat engagements are still ongoing.

Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy conducted no active operations.

Towards Huilaipole, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 15 enemy attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Pryvillia, Vozdvyzhenska, Zaliznychne, Verkhnia Tersa, Tsvitkove, Staroukrainka, and Charivne.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy tried five times to advance in the vicinity of Shcherbaky and Stepnohirsk.

Towards Kherson, Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped two enemy assaults in the vicinity of Antonivskyi Bridge.

In other directions, there are currently no significant changes in the situation. No enemy attempts to advance were recorded.

Ukrainian troops are exhausting the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were 210 combat engagements at the front. Towards Southern Sloboda, russian troops launched eight attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces near Starytsia, Kruhle, Kolodiazne, Radkivka, Lyman, and Novovasylivka. Towards Kupiansk, the russian army attacked once in the vicinity of Novoplatonivka.

Shelling

Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of Derhachi City Military Administration, reports that on the morning of May 13, russian troops struck a critical infrastructure facility in Derhachi community. More than 4,500 consumers in Derhachi, Bezruky, and Slatyne were left without power. Specialists are working to restore the electricity supply.

russian forces also struck Kozacha Lopan, damaging several houses and causing a fire at the impact sites.

According to Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv Settlement Military Administration, around 11:10 a.m., russian troops attacked Riasne, Zolochiv community with drones. A 60-year-old man was killed, and two private houses and outbuildings damaged.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov states that overnight, russian forces carried out two strikes on Kharkiv, reported. Shevchenkivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts were struck. In Kholodnohirskyi district, a fire broke out following a strike on an infrastructure facility. In Shevchenkivskyi district, drone debris fell onto a road.

According to Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Kharkiv and 14 other settlements in the region came under enemy fire. Five people were injured as a result of the shelling: a 75-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man in Shevchenkove, and a 45-year-old man and two women, aged 39 and 42, in Vasylenkove, Shevchenkove community.

Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported that russian troops used UAVs to attack Kholodnohirskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kharkiv. Throughout the day, the russian army deployed six guided aerial bombs (KABs), six Geran-2 UAVs, two Molniya UAVs, 12 FPV drones, and 23 unidentified drones across Kharkiv oblast.

In Kharkiv, railway infrastructure and a car were damaged. In Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Kharkiv, and Chuhuiv regions, residential buildings, outbuildings, an administrative building, vehicles, a garage, power grids, a farm, and an educational institution were damaged. In Vasylenkove, five cows were also injured.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv Settlement Military Administration, reports that at 9:40 p.m. on May 12, russian troops launched three KAB strikes on the outskirts of Kalynove, Zolochiv community. A private house, outbuildings, and power grids were damaged.

Other

Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reports that the transit evacuation point in Lozova received 207 people over the past day. Since the point began operating, 33,820 people have been registered there.

Viktor Tereshchenko, Head of the community, reported that on May 9, volunteers evacuated two girls, aged 5 and 16, from Shypuvate, Velykyi Burluk community. As of May 12, 33 children remained in the community.

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defense Forces repelled 31 assaults towards Kostiantynivka. russian troops attacked near Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Pleshchiivka, Sofiivka, Nove Shakhove, Vilne, and towards Kostiantynivka, Novopavlivka, and Kucheriv Yar.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, towards Pokrovsk, Ukrainian military stopped 32 assaults in the vicinity of Rodynske, Shevchenko, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Vasylivka, Udachne, Muravka, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, Bilytske, Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, and Novopidhorodnie.

On the outskirts of Chasiv Yar, Ukrainian military eliminated more than 20 invaders. Artillery and drones of 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade and RAROG unit struck russian infantry moving openly from the direction of Bakhmut.

Shelling

Donetsk Region Police reported that for May 12, police recorded 1,324 strikes by the russian army on the frontline and residential sector of Donetsk region. Eight settlements were under fire: Dobropillia, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Malotaranivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Iverske, Orikhuvatka, and Shavrove. 28 civilian objects were destroyed, including 24 residential buildings.

As a result of russian attacks in Donetsk oblast, one person was killed and four others injured.

russian troops struck Malotaranivka with two KAB-250 bombs. A civilian was killed and another injured. Six private houses were damaged.

In Mykolaivka, a person was injured and five apartment buildings damaged as a result of shelling.

In Iverske, a civilian was injured and a car damaged.

In Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, a person was injured as a result of a drone attack.

In Orikhuvatka, 13 private houses were damaged; in Kramatorsk, an office space; and in Shavrove, a car.

Luhansk oblast

Oleksii Kharchenko, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reports that towards Lyman, russian troops attacked five times near three settlements over the past day. In Luhansk oblast, invaders struck ten times with mortars, seven times with tube artillery, five times with automatic grenade launchers, and deployed 11 drones.

Chmyrivka Village Military Administration, within the “Side by Side: United Communities” project, cooperates with communities of Rivne region to support displaced persons from Luhansk oblast and involve them in the life of host communities. For children, “Sportyvna Khvylia” sports club operates, where 30 children from Luhansk oblast engage in various sports; cultural and ecological events are also held to help IDPs adapt, maintain connection with Luhansk culture, and establish contacts with local residents.

Popasna community, after forced relocation, maintains the unity of residents through humanitarian hubs, children’s spaces, creative activities, family meetings, and interregional projects. In hubs in Kharkiv, Cherkasy, and Samara, events for children and adults, masterclasses, sports activities, and meetings for displaced families are held, while elderly people from Luhansk oblast in geriatric institutions are also supported. Such formats help displaced persons adapt to new communities and maintain a sense of community far from home.

Oleksii Kharchenko, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reports that in the suburbs of occupied Luhansk, a local teenager was blown up by a mine. This territory has been under occupation since 2014, yet during this time, the russians have not organized proper demining there.

Oleksii Kharchenko, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that in Sievierodonetsk, another contractor involved in the demonstrative “restoration” of a high-rise building in one of the city’s new districts has disappeared. Contractors completed only part of the facade work and abandoned the site, although the building remains close to emergency condition: load-bearing walls are cracking, and no interior repair work was carried out.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The enemy has been massively attacking Ukraine and the Kyiv region with strike drones since the morning of May 13, targeting peaceful settlements and people’s homes, said the head of the Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk. As a result of the enemy attack in the Vyshhorod district, a private house caught fire. No civilians were reported injured.

Rescuers extinguished a fire in a two-story residential building in the village of Khotianivka that broke out as a result of a Russian UAV attack, the State Emergency Service of the Kyiv region reported.

As of 1:00 p.m. on May 13, debris from a downed UAV was recorded in Kyiv’s Obolonskyi district following the Russian attack. No casualties were reported, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.

During the night of May 13, nearly three dozen enemy aerial targets were destroyed in the skies over the Kyiv region, said the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk. More than one hundred experienced crews are constantly operating within the framework of the “Clear Sky” project. As a result of the project’s implementation, more than 3,250 enemy targets have been shot down in total.

The fire on the territory of the Chernobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve, which broke out on May 8, has been extinguished, although firefighters continue to soak isolated peat smoldering areas covering about 2 hectares, according to the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management. The fire had spread across 1,200 hectares; it was localized on May 10 and fully extinguished on the evening of May 12.

As part of the reconstruction efforts, construction continues on the Borodianka Children’s School of Arts named after Max Levin at 230 Tsentralna Street, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported. The new three-story building, covering more than 2,700 square meters, will accommodate 330 students. The facility is being designed in line with modern standards of safety, functionality, and accessibility.

The national rehabilitation center Tsybli All-Ukrainian Medical and Rehabilitation Center is operating in the Tsybli community of Boryspil district. It is one of the country’s strategically important rehabilitation institutions, where Ukrainian veterans and civilians affected by the war undergo treatment and recovery, said Mykola Kalashnyk. This year, UAH 150 million has been allocated from the state budget under the Ukraine Facility mechanism for the reconstruction of one of the medical buildings. The center already has developments in energy independence, including solar power stations, backup power systems, and autonomous support systems.

Zhytomyr oblast

On the morning of May 13, the Zhytomyr region came under a massive attack by enemy drones, said the head of the Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Bunechko. As a result of the Russian strikes, two people were injured. Civilian and transport infrastructure in various districts of the region was damaged. Despite the threat of repeated attacks, emergency responders continued working at several locations while taking security risks into account.

Russian forces attacked a Naftogaz of Ukraine facility in the Zhytomyr region, the state-owned company reported. On May 13, Russia targeted the company’s infrastructure in two regions, according to the statement. An enemy drone also damaged a gas production facility in the Kharkiv region.

At around 5:00 a.m. on May 12, the Russian army carried out a drone attack on Zhytomyr, killing a dog and damaging two houses, six vehicles, and utility buildings. Roman Pryshchepa reported that representatives of the charitable organization Right to Protection were working at the site of the strike. They documented the destruction and provided plastic sheeting to residents of the damaged house to temporarily cover the roof.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Oblast Prosecutor’s Office said that on 13 May, the enemy carried out several strikes on Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University. Three people were injured, including a 13-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, who was diagnosed with an acute stress reaction.

The State Emergency Service reported that a fire broke out in one of the buildings as a result of the enemy attack. It was extinguished. One of the strikes also pierced the roof of a building. The educational institution said a fire broke out in the workshop building, and a dormitory and residential premises were damaged.

Another minor boy was injured in Bilopillia community as a result of a russian drone attack. On the night of 13 May, a 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with shrapnel wounds. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance.

The Regional Military Administration informed that a teenager who sustained serious injuries in a russian attack in Bilopillia community on 12 May is in a stable but serious condition. The 13-year-old child underwent complex surgery. The boy’s family, who had evacuated earlier, returned to Bilopillia to plant a vegetable garden. A drone struck near the boy as he was walking along the street.

A 67-year-old woman who was injured on 7 May in an enemy UAV attack in Velyka Pysarivka community died in hospital. She had sustained a serious shrapnel wound and lost a large amount of blood. She was taken to hospital in serious condition. Doctors fought for her life for almost a week.

According to the National Police, on the evening of 12 May, a police car burned down in Putyvl after an enemy drone strike. Patrol officers managed to get out of the car in time.

The Regional Military Administration reported that six people, including two children, were injured as a result of enemy strikes in Sumy oblast over the past day. In Hlukhiv community, a 68-year-old man and women aged 76 and 79 were injured in a russian UAV attack. In Bilopillia community, two children, boys aged 13 and 17, were injured in an enemy drone attack. A 42-year-old man was also injured.

Over the past day, from the morning of 12 May to the morning of 13 May, russian forces carried out more than 100 attacks on 43 settlements in 20 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used grenade launchers, mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Over the day, the air raid alert in the oblast lasted 16 hours and 16 minutes.

As of the morning of 13 May, destruction and damage to private houses, cars and civilian infrastructure facilities were recorded:

  • in Khmelivka community, private residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged;
  • in Kyrykivka community, a private household and a car were damaged;
  • in Hlukhiv community, an apartment building was damaged, and non-residential premises and a car were destroyed;
  • in Vorozhba community, private residential buildings and an outbuilding were damaged;
  • in Nova Slobidka community, a private residential building and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
  • in Richky community, a lorry was damaged;
  • in Popivka community, non-residential premises were damaged;
  • in Seredyna-Buda community, private residential buildings were damaged;
  • in Putyvl community, a car was destroyed;
  • in Bilopillia community, a car was damaged;
  • in Sumy community, a private residential building was damaged;
  • in Shostka community, a car was damaged;
  • in Esman community, private residential buildings and outbuildings were destroyed.

Over the past day, local authorities, together with units of State Emergency Service, National Police and non-governmental organisations, evacuated eight people from border communities.

The Regional Military Administration informed that from 1 to 11 May, 343 people were evacuated from border communities in Sumy oblast. Most were evacuated from Velyka Pysarivka, Seredyna-Buda and Krasnopillia communities. People also left Bilopillia, Yunakivka, Mykolaivka, Shalyhyne, Znob-Novhorodske, Hlukhiv and Esman communities. Transit centres, temporary accommodation sites, and available houses and flats for resettlement are operating in the oblast for evacuees.

Chernihiv oblast

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, reported that at around 4:40am on 13 May, russian forces attacked Losivka village in Semenivka community by an attack UAV. A residential building and a garage sustained significant damage in the strike, a civilian car was damaged, and a motorcycle was completely destroyed.

On the night of 13 May, russian forces attacked the residential sector in Pushkari village, Novhorod-Siverskyi community, by two Herbera attack UAVs. The strikes caused a fire, which completely destroyed two private houses.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that on 12 May, windows were blown out in a school, a workshop and a residential building in a village in Pryluky region as a result of a russian UAV strike.

In the middle of the day on 12 May, the enemy attacked Mena city in Koriukivka region by Heran drones. Homes and outbuildings were destroyed and damaged. Enemy strikes by FPV drones were also recorded in villages of the region. In one village, a house caught fire; in another, dry grass and forest plantations caught fire.

In one of the villages of Novhorod-Siverskyi region, two houses burned down completely after strikes by Herbera drones. In another village, a home, a garage, a car and a motorcycle were damaged.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment informed that on 12 May, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast over the day: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy carried out shelling with mortars (eight explosions), tube artillery (24 explosions) and multiple-launch rocket systems (13 explosions), launched UAV strikes by Molniya-type drones (two explosions) and FPV drones (24 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (seven explosions). Thirteen settlements came under enemy fire.

According to the State Environmental Inspectorate in Chernihiv oblast, in Nizhyn region, damage to two facilities caused by russia’s armed aggression resulted in environmental losses exceeding UAH 2m. In December 2025, the enemy damaged a facility where diethylene glycol caught fire. In February 2026, a facility was damaged where a natural gas explosion occurred, causing a large-scale fire and ignition of fuel and lubricants.

Chernihiv City Council announced that from 13 May, street lighting in Chernihiv will be switched on daily at dusk. On the first day of operation, street lighting will be switched on from 9pm. Street lighting in the city will operate until 11pm.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Air Defence Forces were operating in oblast. Defenders of the sky shot down 17 enemy UAVs.

Nikopolskyi region. In Marhanets, two children — 16-year-old boys — were injured as a result of an FPV strike. A 21-year-old man was also injured. The occupiers struck Nikopol, Marhanets, Myrove, Pokrovske rural and Chervonohryhorivka communities by drones and artillery. A fire broke out, a car burned, and a fire engine, two private houses, a minibus, a car, a power line and infrastructure were damaged.

Synelnykivskyi region. In Mykolaivska community, two people were killed as a result of UAV strikes. Five country houses burned, and 16 private houses were damaged. Following a UAV attack on Dubovykivska community, a private house caught fire. According to updated information, four people were killed and four others injured as a result of previous strikes, and private houses were damaged.

Kryvorizkyi region. The enemy attacked Kryvyi Rih by UAVs. Two people were killed. Four more people were injured, including a small child. An enterprise, infrastructure and a gas pipeline were damaged.

Nikopolskyi region. In Nikopol, two men aged 50 and 57 were injured. The occupiers struck the region by UAVs and artillery, targeting Nikopol, Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka communities. Fires broke out, and an apartment block, four private houses, an outbuilding, an enterprise, an administrative building, parking areas, two petrol stations, 19 cars, three minibuses and a gas pipeline were damaged.

Dniprovskyi region. Infrastructure was damaged in Dnipro as a result of a UAV attack.

Synelnykivskyi region. The enemy attacked Synelnykove by UAVs.

Pokrovska community was hit by an FPV drone. A private house caught fire there.

Kryvorizkyi region. FPV drones struck Zelenodolska and Hrushiv communities. A private house and a medical post were damaged.

Since the beginning of 2026, russians have attacked Dnipropetrovsk oblast more than 6,410 times — by missiles, Shaheds, artillery, FPV drones and guided aerial bombs. Daily attacks on communities in oblast continue. According to the State Emergency Service, this year alone the enemy has already used 138 guided aerial bombs against frontline communities in oblast. For scale, 606 have been used over the entire period of the full-scale war.

Vinnytsia oblast 

Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov reported that a residential building and premises of one agricultural enterprise were damaged in Vinnytsia oblast as a result of a russian attack, due to the blast wave and falling debris from an enemy UAV. Windows were shattered, and the roof and façade were damaged. No people were injured.

The deaths of seven defenders from Vinnytsia oblast have been reported. They are Oleksandr Kravtsov, Anatolii Styshak, Mykola Sysak, Mykola Rusavskyi, Pavlo Shpyliovyi, Viktor Kuzmynetskyi and Yurii Shchur.

Kirovohrad oblast

Kirovohrad oblast paid tribute to servicemen. They are Mykola Kurennyi from Oleksandrivka settlement, Serhii Serbina from Vlasivka settlement in Svitlovodska community, and Andrii Maidaniuk from Kapitanivka settlement in Novomyrhorodka community. Mykola Kurennyi was killed on 5 March 2024 during combat operations near Ivanivske village, Bakhmut region, Donetsk oblast. Serhii Serbina had been considered missing in action since 20 March 2025 while carrying out a combat mission near Tarasivka village, Kramatorsk region, Donetsk oblast. On 30 April 2026, his death was confirmed by DNA examination results. Andrii Maidaniuk died on 9 May while receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of a Kropyvnytskyi hospital.

Poltava oblast

Vitalii Diakivnych, Head of Regional Military Administration, reported that 11 apartment blocks were damaged in Poltava as a result of an explosion following a UAV attack. A total of 292 shattered windows were recorded: 237 in flats and 55 in common areas. More than 6,500 household consumers and 548 legal entities in Poltavska community were left without electricity.

Cherkasy oblast

Smila Mayor Serhii Ananko said that three hits were recorded within Smila. All struck civilian facilities, the private sector and households. According to emergency medical services, three men were injured. All were taken to hospitals. Doctors are providing assistance. 

Ihor Taburets, Head of Regional Military Administration, reported that UAV crashes were also recorded in Uman and Zvenyhorodka regions. Efforts to deal with the aftermath are ongoing. In oblast, 18 UAVs were destroyed.

In Talne, residents paid tribute to fallen 25-year-old serviceman Oleksii Polishchuk. On 7 May 2026, while carrying out a combat mission near Novofedorivka, Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast, Oleksii was killed as a result of a drone strike. Defender from Khrystynivshchyna Mykyta Foshchenko was killed. This happened as a result of a drone strike on 8 May 2026 near Dolynka, Huliaipole region, Zaporizhzhia oblast.

 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration head Ivan Fedorov reported that today, 13 May, russian troops attacked the territory of an agricultural enterprise in Zaporizhzhia region with a guided aerial bomb. A man was killed as a result of the strike.

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday, 12 May, the occupiers carried out 1,006 strikes on 49 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces launched 24 airstrikes on Komyshuvakha, Zarichne, Malokaterynivka, Novooleksandrivka, Shchaslyve, Yurkivka, Liubymivka, Liubytske, Novoivanivka, Novokasianivka, Svitla Dolyna, Orikhiv, Novoselivka, Charivne, Chervona Krynytsia, Mykilske, Lisne, Rivne, Vozdvyzhivka, Svoboda, and Tymoshivka. 732 UAVs of various modifications attacked Zaporizhzhia, Kushuhum, Chervonodniprovka, Novoiakovlivka, Tavriiske, Rozumivka, Bilenke, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Lukianivske, Pavlivka, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Vilnianka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Hirke, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Olenokostiantynivka, and Nove Zaporizhzhia. An MLRS strike hit Vozdvyzhivka. 249 artillery strikes targeted Novoiakovlivka, Chervonodniprovka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Lukianivske, Pavlivka, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Hirke, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, and Olenokostiantynivka. Authorities received 52 reports of damage to housing, non-residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities. Three people were injured as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia region.

The General Staff reported that as of 16:00 on 13 May, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 15 enemy attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Pryvillia, Vozdvyzhenske, Zaliznychne, Verkhnia Tersa, Tsvitkove, Staroukrainka, and Charivne towards Huliaipole. The enemy attempted five times to advance near the settlements of Shcherbaky and Stepnohirsk towards Orikhiv. Over the previous day, 12 May, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 16 russian attacks towards Huliaipole front and another five towards Orikhiv.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a concentration of russian military personnel near the village of Kinski Rozdory in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration reported that yesterday, 12 May, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community four times with FPV drones. No casualties were reported.

The Chief Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv oblast reported that police explosive experts destroyed a russian strike drone in the city. The drone had fallen and become lodged at the top of a tree.

Odesa oblast

Odesa Oblast Military Administration reported that today, 13 May, russian forces attacked the region. As a result of the drone strike, in Odesa two people were injured, and the facade and windows of a residential building, as well as several passenger cars, were damaged. In Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, debris from a UAV damaged the roof of a three-story residential building, causing a fire.

During the night of 13 May, the russian army carried out a massive attack on the industrial infrastructure of Odesa oblast using strike drones. Several waves of attacks caused damage to warehouse and utility facilities. The resulting localized fires were quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Kherson oblast

As reported by the head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, on 13 May the enemy spent the day striking transport, homes, and even elderly people walking the streets of Kherson with drones. According to him, as of 17:00, at least twenty residents had been injured in the attacks.

Kherso RMA reported that russian forces attacked a bus in Bilozerka today. One person was killed and two others were injured.

Two residents of Komyshany whose house was attacked on the evening of 5 May sought medical treatment. The victims suffered blast injuries and concussions, and the local woman was also diagnosed with a chest contusion.

The Police of Kherson oblast reported that yesterday, 12 May, the russian forces attacked Kherson, Komyshany, Dariivka, Sadove, Dniprovske, Veletynske, Novodmytrivka, Zorivka, Nadiivka, Chereshenky, Rozlyv, Naddniprianske, Kizomys, Antonivka, Tomyna Balka, Pravdyne, Myroliubivka, Molodetske, Parysheve, Honcharne, Nezlamne, Shyroka Balka, Poniativka, Pryozerne, Inhulivka, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Mykilske, Inhulets, Ulianivka, Bilozerka, Romashkove, Beryslav, Khreshchenivka, Novoraisk, Kachkarivka, Chervone, Mylove, Dudchany, Lvivski Otruby, Kozatske, and Vesele. Police recorded damage to four apartment buildings and 11 private houses, critical infrastructure facilities, a higher education institution, a church, and five vehicles. Three people were injured as a result of the russian shelling.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that as of 16:00 on 13 May, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled two enemy assaults toward the Antonivskyi Bridge, Kherson.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

As a result of the enemy attack in Lutsk, several non-residential premises were hit. There were also flights to Kovel. As a result of the hit near one of the critical infrastructure facilities, a vehicle and a residential building that were located nearby were damaged. 5 people sought medical assistance from medical institutions: one in Lutsk and four in Kovel.

Zakarpattia oblast

The most massive attack on the oblast since the beginning of the full-scale invasion took place. Explosions were heard in several communities of the oblast. For the 1st time since the beginning of the full-scale war, Uzhhorod was attacked by enemy drones. A critical infrastructure facility was hit. There were no victims or injured. All relevant services are working on the ground, the elimination of the consequences of the attack and the survey of the territory are ongoing.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

During the air alert, the enemy attacked the area. There is a hit on a residential building. People are injured. According to preliminary information, the injuries are not serious, all the injured are provided with the necessary medical assistance

Lviv oblast

During the air raid, the enemy attacked energy and industrial facilities in Lviv oblast. One residential building was damaged by falling debris, with windows broken and the roof damaged. There were no injuries.

Rivne oblast

During the enemy attack, Hitting civilian infrastructure. It is known that civilian infrastructure was hit, in particular a residential building. Houses and cars were damaged. As of now, 3 people were killed and 6 have been injured. Rescuers, police, bomb disposal experts and the Security Service of Ukraine officers are working on the scene. Another consequence of a war crime against civilians is being documented.

Ternopil oblast

During a prolonged air alert, 23 enemy Shahed drones were spotted in the sky over Ternopil oblast. No hits were recorded in the oblast. 3 UAVs were shot down by the Air Defense Forces.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

During the enemy attack, which lasted for over 5 hours in the oblast, the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down/suppressed 27 enemy drones. Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the enemy air attacks. Three people were injured as a result of the attack. They were hospitalized in moderate condition and received medical assistance. Their condition is stable.

Chernivtsi oblast

During another massive attack, 8 enemy UAVs violated the airspace over Bukovina. 6 of them were neutralized by air defense forces, and 2 more went beyond the borders of the oblast. There was no damage or casualties.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Ukraine has signed a defense agreement with Lithuania in the Drone Deal format. The document provides for the development of defense-industrial and technological cooperation between the countries in the areas of air and missile defense, as well as unmanned systems. In addition, the parties discussed the prospect of localizing the production of Ukrainian drones in Lithuania.
