It has been the 901st day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:

On 12 August, there were 80 combat engagements on the front line.

russian invaders continue to assault the positions of Ukrainian defenders.

Border settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts continue to suffer from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian federation. Today, the vicinities of Mala Slobidka, Pokrovka, Uhroidy, Boiaro-Lezhachi and Bleshnia were affected by enemy artillery and mortar fire. Additionally, the russians carried out 16 airstrikes, particularly targeting Zapsil, Mohrytsia, Vakalivshchyna, Hlukhiv, Vilshanka, Sinne, Velyka Rybytsia, Partyzanske, Yunakivka and Loknia.

According to updated information, towards Kharkiv, the enemy conducted three attacks near Tykhe and Vovchansk, where one battle is still ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, there were six engagements, particularly in the vicinities of Berestove, Stelmakhivka, Hlushkivka and Novosynove. Four of them have ended, while two are still ongoing.

Towards Lyman, the enemy attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders 17 times near Makiivka, Nevske, Terny, and Torske. The Defense Forces successfully repelled all russian attacks.

Towards Siversk, three battles occurred throughout the day. The occupying army advanced towards Verkhnokamianske and Spirne, where they were defeated.

Towards Kramatorsk, five engagements took place near Chasiv Yar and Bohdanivka. Two battles have ended, and three are still ongoing.

Towards Toretsk, the occupiers increased the number of attacks to eight, advancing near Zalizne and Toretsk. Half of the attacks were repelled, and four are still ongoing. Additionally, the invaders carried out 12 airstrikes, dropping 22 guided bombs on Nelypivka and Toretsk.

Towards Pokrovsk, the russians launched assaults in the vicinities of Kalynove, Sukha Balka, Yelyzavetivka, Zelene Pole, Novooleksandrivka, Hrodivka, Mykolaivka, Zhelanne and Skuchne. Ukrainian defenders are holding the line and have repelled 19 out of 25 enemy attacks. The enemy’s losses in this direction are being clarified. Additionally, the enemy struck Oleksandropil with unguided rockets.

Towards Kurakhove, the invaders unsuccessfully attacked five times near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka and Heorhiivka.

Towards Vremivka, the enemy also launched five assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vodiane, Kostiantynivka and Vuhledar. Three attacks were repelled, and two are still ongoing. The situation remains under control by Ukrainian forces. Additionally, using aviation, the enemy struck Vodane by three guided bombs and launched several unguided rockets at Novodonetske.

Towards Kherson, the russians suffered defeats, attacking the defensive lines of Ukrainians on the left bank of the Dnipro River three times.

There are no significant changes on other front lines

The restoration of the DniproHES will take at least three years. The debris removal at the damaged hydroelectric station after the latest attack took one and a half months and was completed on 14 July. Additional resources are needed to restore the energy facility to reduce its vulnerability to new potential russian attacks. For the enemy, the DniproHES is more accessible, as the front line is just 50km away. They strike with various missiles – S-300, Kh-101, Kh-69. Air defense cannot always cope with such a barrage of missiles. According to Ukrenerho CEO Ihor Syrota, the company is preparing lawsuits against the russians in international and national courts for compensation for damages.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will create a unified patronage service to work with the families of deceased, missing, and captured servicemen. The main goal of this system is to care for the families of servicemen, provide general information, support wounded soldiers in healthcare facilities, and coordinate communication with the families of prisoners, the missing, and the deceased. Social support services will be staffed by servicemen released from captivity and those who, due to injuries or health conditions, cannot participate in combat operations.
