War in Ukraine today: latest news, 11 July, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 869th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The invaders do not stop attacking along almost the entire front line. By now, the total number of hostile offensive and assault operations has increased to 62. The largest number of combat engagements was recorded towards Pokrovsk. At the same time, the invaders are actively launching airstrikes here and towards Kharkiv.

Towards Kharkiv, the russian invaders conducted three unsuccessful assault operations near Vovchansk and Hlyboke. In addition, the enemy launched 14 airstrikes today, dropping 28 KABs. Areas in eight different settlements were affected, among them are Vovchansk, Lyptsi and Starytsia.

Towards Kupiansk, the invaders keep trying to put pressure on the defences of Ukrainian troops. They were unsuccessfully trying to improve their tactical position near Synkivka and Berestove. They increased the number of assault operations to four. Half of them were successfully repelled by the Defence Forces, while two assaults, near Berestove, are still ongoing. The enemy bombarded Kupiansk and Hlushkivka with five KABs.

Towards Lyman, near Makiivka and Nevske, the enemy conducted five attacks over the day, two of which are still ongoing. They launched unguided aerial missiles from army aircraft near Novoiehorivka.

Towards Siversk, the russian aggressor continued its assaults near Rozdolivka and Verkhnokamianske. The number of combat engagements increased to three. One of them is still ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, there were three combat engagements.  The enemy, supported by attack aircraft, attacked Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske. The battle is ongoing.

Towards Toretsk, the enemy conducted four attacks near Pivnichne and Toretsk. The fighting is ongoing. Ukrainian troops repelled another attack near Zaliznychne.

Pokrovsk remains the hottest spot along the entire contact line. The number of enemy attacks here increased to 24. The invaders are concentrating their efforts near Novooleksandrivka and Prohres, trying to push Ukrainian defences in the area with the support of attack and bombing aircraft, which hit seven different settlements. Ukrainian soldiers are holding their positions and inflicting significant losses on the enemy.  

In Kurakhove, the number of combat engagements increased to six. All enemy attacks near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka and Paraskoviivka were repelled.

Towards Vremivka, the russians launched four unsuccessful offensives near Vodiane, Kostiantynivka and Urozhaine. Near the latter, they fired at our positions from Ka-52 helicopters.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy attacked towards Huliaipole. It was unsuccessful.

Towards Kherson, Tiahynka and Tokarivka were shelled.

In other areas, the situation did not change significantly.

The units of the Defence Forces are courageously restraining the enemy’s attempts to advance into the depths of Ukraine’s territory, inflicting fire damage on the invaders and depleting them along the entire front line.

The National Bank of Ukraine reported that on 11 July, changes to improve investment attractiveness and support for defence came into effect. According to the report, currency restrictions have been updated to help attract private capital.

Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikorskyi informed that several thousand people have registered to join the Ukrainian Legion. The Ukrainian Legion is a new volunteer military unit in Poland.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the operational situation as of 4pm provided by the General Staff, the russians dropped 33 UAVs in Kharkiv region.

Towards Kharkiv, the russian army conducted three unsuccessful assaults near Vovchansk and Hlyboke. In addition, the invaders launched 14 airstrikes during the day, dropping 28 UAVs. The areas of eight settlements were affected, including Vovchansk, Lyptsi and Starytsia.

Towards Kupiansk, russians are trying to improve their tactical positioning near Synkivka and Berestove. There were four assault attacks during the day, half of which were repelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Two assaults are currently ongoing. Also russia dropped five unmanned aerial vehicles near Kupiansk and Hlushkivka.

According to Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, at about 4pm, the enemy hit Borova village in Izium region by a KAB. A fire broke out in a private household. Four civilians were injured: two men aged 52 and 69 and two women aged 30 and 70. Medical aid was provided at the scene. 12 private houses were damaged.

At 6:10am, the territory of an agricultural enterprise was hit in Hlushkivka village of Kurylivka community, Kupiansk region. Four employees of the agricultural enterprise aged 43, 43, 44, 63 years old were injured as a result of the shelling by a KAB, one of them in a critical condition. Three were hospitalised, one man refused to be hospitalised. According to the State Emergency Service, cattle were also injured. The strike caused dry hay to catch on fire over an area of 150 sq m. The rescuers said in a statement that the fire was extinguished.

At 7:41pm, the russians attacked Slatyne village of Derhachi community, Kharkiv region. The shelling damaged private houses, a garage and an outbuilding. A 70-year-old man was injured and a 60-year-old woman killed.

In Odnorobivka village, Bohodukhiv region, as a result of a UAV attack at 12pm, power equipment in 13 settlements was damaged. The power supply is being restored.

At 8:18am, russians attacked Kozacha Lopan village of Derhachi community, Kharkiv region. The shelling damaged the building of the village council.

Towards Kharkiv, russian invaders unsuccessfully attacked the defensive lines of Ukrainian units near Vovchansk and Hlyboke.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy also attempted to storm the positions of our troops near Berestove three times. Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks.

Ruslan Strilets, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, reported that more than a quarter – 27% – of environmental crimes committed by russia in Ukraine are in Kharkiv oblast.

Donetsk oblast

Vadym Filashkin, Head of the RMA, reported that over the day 3 people were killed and 8 injured in the towns and villages of Donetsk oblast as a result of russian shelling.

There are children among the killed and injured.

Yesterday russians killed two residents and injured one in Donetsk oblast. Police recorded 2,595 hostile attacks in the oblast. There were hits in 12 settlements: Kurakhove, Myrnohrad, Selydove, Toretsk, Hostre, Novoekonomichne, Niu-York, Berestky, Dalnie, Novoocheretuvate, Ozerne and Trudove. 19 civilian objects were damaged, including 16 residential buildings, a cinema, and cars.

The invaders dropped a KAB-250 bomb on Toretsk, killing a civilian and destroying 2 apartment buildings.

As a result of the russian shelling of Novoekonomichne, one person was killed and one injured. 9 private houses and cars were damaged.

The White Angels crew managed to evacuate three residents from Krasnohorivka. The people walked several kilometres to the agreed place, where they were taken by the police. As the residents were getting into the car, the russians opened fire on them. Fortunately, no one was injured. According to available information, about 300 residents remain in Krasnohorivka.

Serhii Honcharov, a specialist of the regional department for civil protection, said that 188 children still remain in two communities in Donetsk oblast where forced evacuation of families with children was announced on 6 June and 10 July.

Nazar Voloshyn, Spokesman of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, reported that towards Toretsk, Ukrainian troops are fighting with russian infantry and motorised infantry units. There are no occupation troops in the city, fighting continues on the outskirts and in Toretsk agglomeration.

The RMA informed that 6 excavators were delivered to the frontline communities of Donetsk oblast to eliminate the consequences of russian shelling. A total of 20 machines were purchased at the expense of the regional budget. 

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, russians shelled Makiivka by various types of weapons. Three airstrikes were launched on the territory of the village and around it, one from a multiple rocket launcher system, artillery and drones were used. Nevske also suffered from artillery and UAVs.

The invaders attacked 14 times near Hrekivka, Nevske and Makiivka. They also tried to advance in Bilohorivka.

In occupied Sievierodonetsk, the queue for the pension fund is a month in advance. You can only get a coupon for an appointment with specialists in mid-August. If you miss an appointment, you will have to wait another 30 days. In two years, the organisation of services has remained at an extremely low level. The invaders have introduced an electronic queue, but there is no internet in the city.

Residents of Rubizhne cannot find out in a timely manner whether their housing has been subject to the so-called “nationalisation”. Most of the relevant announcements are published only on the entrances of houses. A few are published on the Internet, which, like in Sievierodonetsk, is not available to the population of Rubizhne. It is difficult to find out about the loss of housing, even if you live in another part of the city or a nearby village.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The russian missile attack on Kyiv medical facilities on 8 July took the lives of six medical workers. The Ministry of Health has named the healthcare workers who were killed at their workplaces during the barbaric russian attack:

  • Svitlana Lukianchyk, a nephrologist at the Okhmatdyt hospital. At the time of the attack, she was evacuating children on dialysis to a shelter;
  • Svetlana Poplavskaya, an obstetrician-gynaecologist at Adonis, mother of three;
  • Tatiana Sharova, a senior nurse at the Adonis clinic. In 2014, she and her family fled the war from Donetsk. Tatiana’s son was in russian captivity;
  • Viktor Brahutsa is an ultrasound diagnostics doctor at the Adonis clinic, father of two girls;
  • Oksana Korzh, a nurse of the Adonis clinic, mother of two children;
  • Viktoriia Bondarenko, a senior cashier at the Adonis clinic, mother of two children. Victoria’s son and husband are in the war zone.

On 10 July, Health Minister Viktor Liashko announced that a boy who was transported in critical condition to a Kyiv hospital after the russian missile attack on Okhmatdyt on 8 July 2024 died.

The Financial Times, citing experts and Ukrainian officials, reported that the russian X-101 missile, which destroyed the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv on 8 July, is made up of Western-made components. This is evidence of russia’s success in circumventing sanctions. Specialists from Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise have identified more than 30 parts and fragments of the X-101 missile. An analysis of russian documents shows how russian companies in 2023 were able to obtain the parts by buying them on the open market and importing them through China.

Kyiv Regional State Administration reported that international partners have restored a water supply facility in Bucha, which will improve the quality of drinking water for 9,000 people. In addition to residential buildings, the station serves a kindergarten and a lyceum in Bucha. This is one of 17 social infrastructure projects in Bucha district funded by the European Investment Bank under the Ukraine Recovery Programme. Technical support is provided by UNDP.

Hungarian opposition politician Peter Magyar, the main rival of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, arrived in Kyiv on 11 July. The day before, the politician said that he was bringing humanitarian aid to the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital, which was damaged by a russian missile. Magyar visited the Wall of Remembrance of those who died for Ukraine near St Michael’s Cathedral.

A memorial plaque has been installed in Kyiv oblast at the site of the murder of photographer Max Levin by the russian occupiers. Max Levin and his colleague Oleksii Chernyshev were killed by russians on 13 March 2022. Levin’s friends and colleagues erected a monument in the forest between Huta Mezhyhirska and Moshchun in Vyshhorod region. The plaque has a QR code that can be used to open the biography page of the deceased photographer.

Over the weekend, the Ukrainian Women’s Guard held a regular self-defence course. The classes were held in Kyiv for two groups of women. The self-defence training included individual and group physical training exercises. The participants also learnt about conflict, the possibility of avoiding it and what to do if an attack cannot be avoided. The next class will be held on 21 July.

A workshop was held in Kyiv oblast for specialists in the field of mass sports. The participants gained the knowledge necessary for further involvement in military-patriotic and national-patriotic education of children and youth, skills of effective communication and promotion of national values by learning innovative methods of interactive classes, sports events and activities. 

Zhytomyr oblast

The RMA reported about the ongoing reconstruction of the Novoradcha gymnasium of the Narodychi settlement council, damaged as a result of hostilities. This was made possible by the EU4UASchools: Build Back Better project, initiated by the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine. As part of the project, restoration work is underway in 6 educational institutions of the Narodytska Hromada for a total of over UAH 50m.

The city council announced the opening of the Veteran’s Helpline service in Zhytomyr, working around the clock seven days a week starting 15 July. The service will work for war veterans, combatants, disabled veterans and their families, as well as families of soldiers who were killed or died of injuries, missing or captured.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that at around 7:00am, the russian army attacked Seredyna-Buda with FPV drones, causing a fire in a residential building. While the locals were extinguishing the fire, the russian military re-attacked the town, resulting in shrapnel wounds to two civilian men aged 55 and 56.

At night and in the morning of 11 July, russians fired 14 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. A total of 42 explosions were recorded.  According to the RMA, Bilopillia, Miropillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Sloboda, Krolevets and Seredyna-Buda communities were shelled. The enemy fired mortars, artillery, grenade launchers, used FPV drones, dropped explosive devices from UAVs, and struck with ballistic missiles.

In Krolevets community, the russian military launched two ballistic missile strikes. As a result, a civilian was injured. According to Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk, on the night of 11 July, the russian army attacked Sumy oblast with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from Kursk oblast.

On 10 July, russians fired 27 times at Sumy oblast, with a total of 94 explosions recorded. According to the Regional Military Administration, 7 border communities were shelled:

  • The enemy attacked Velyka Pysarivka community with an FPV kamikaze drone and mortar shelling (9 explosions). An enemy helicopter launched 2 NAR missiles (10 explosions);
  • FPV drone strikes (3 explosions) and mortar attacks (14 explosions) were recorded in Esman community;
  • 12 mines were dropped in Shalyhyne community;
  • the enemy shelled Yunakivka community with artillery (9 explosions) and fired from a UAV;
  • Bilopillia community was hit by NAR missiles launched from an enemy helicopter (4 explosions). There was also a UAV dropping explosive devices (3 explosions) and mortar shelling (6 explosions);
  • Krasnopillia community was shelled from artillery (13 explosions), mortars (4 explosions), an explosive device dropped from a UAV (1 explosion), and an FPV drone strike (1 explosion);
  • FPV drone strikes targeted Myropillia community (4 explosions).

As a result of the shelling of Miropillia community by FPV drones on 10 July, four buildings of communal institutions were damaged.

Sumy city council reported that a street was named after the Hero of Ukraine Mykhailo Chuprin. Mykhailo was from Luhansk oblast and was killed on 19 March 2022 in Mariupol. By a decree of the President of Ukraine, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. Mykhailo Chuprin was one of the founders of the Azov tank unit of the NGU, which was named Kholodnyi Yar. Between 25 February and 12 March last year, Mykhailo Chuprin’s company repelled eight attempts to break through the defence.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv border guard detachment reported that russians attacked five border villages in Chernihiv oblast. There were 37 explosions. 

Semenivka community: 19 attacks with mortars, cannon artillery and FPV drones towards the villages of Leonivka, Lubiane, Prohres. 

Horodnia community: 4 mortar attacks and explosive devices dropped from a UAV towards Senkivka. 

Snovsk community: 14 mortar attacks near Khrinivka village.

Oleksandr Marchuk, Technical Director of Chernihivoblenerho JSC warned that the 2024-2025 heating season in Chernihiv oblast would be more difficult than last year due to the destruction of a large number of thermal power plants in Ukraine. According to the regional military administration, the oblast is 40% prepared for the heating season. As part of the Energy Security project, Chernihiv oblast received 14 modular solid fuel boiler houses (eight of them in Chernihiv), which will be used to heat facilities of important social importance.

Bakhmach, Nizhyn, Nosiv, Bobrovytsia, Sosnytsia and Pryluky communities received specialised vehicles for transporting people with limited mobility. The vehicles were purchased under the Special Support Programme for Ukraine / EU4ResilientRegions and implemented by GIZ with funding from the German government and the European Union. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that an enemy reconnaissance drone was shot down over the oblast. The enemy attacked Nikopol region. They fired artillery at Marhanets community and launched kamikaze drones at Nikopol. A private house was damaged.

The enemy was shelling Nikopol region all day long. More than two dozen attacks were made with artillery and kamikaze drones. A 65-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman were injured in Pokrovsk community. Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka, Myrove and Marhanets communities were also hit. Infrastructure was damaged and several fires broke out. An apartment building, 4 private houses and 5 country houses, 4 cars, an outbuilding, a power line and a gas pipeline were damaged.

In Kryvyi Rih, 35-year-old Dmytro Pakholiuk, who was killed in a russian missile strike on 8 July on a business in the city, was buried.

There are currently 34 other injured in hospitals in the oblast as a result of the 8 July attack on Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih. Five of the injured in Kryvyi Rih are in critical condition, while 24 are in moderate condition.  In Dnipro, most of the injured are being treated on an outpatient basis. There are five people in hospital, one of them is in a critical condition.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Vinnytsia City Council reported that Vinnytsia community delivered a powerful generator to frontline Balakliia.

Kirovohrad oblast

Volodymyr Chyzh and Serhii Hubl from Oleksandriia community were killed in the russian-Ukrainian war. 20-year-old Volodymyr Chyzh was killed on 1 July 2024 near Bilohorivka, Siverskyi Donets region, Luhansk oblast. Serhii Hubl, born in 1996, was killed on 8 July near Vovchansk, Kharkiv oblast.

Poltava oblast

Solar power plants are to be installed in some primary healthcare facilities. This is to ensure the stable operation of the medical system in times of war.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the occupiers attacked 12 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast 404 times. russian forces carried out three airstrikes on Kamianske and Piatikhatky. A total of 188 UAVs of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, and Novoandriivka. Five MLRS attacks hit Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, and Malynivka. Additionally, there were 208 artillery strikes on the territories of Stepnohirsk, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Levadne, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, and Staroukrainka. There were 12 reports of destruction to residential buildings and infrastructure facilities. One man was injured in Vasylivka region due to russian attacks.

The General Staff reported that the occupiers suffered setbacks near the settlement of Huliaipole. russian invaders twice attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops towards Orikhiv. One attack was unsuccessful near Robotyne, while another is ongoing near Mala Tokmachka.

Mykolaiv oblast

During the night of 11 July, air defence forces destroyed a Shahed 131/136 UAV in Mykolaiv oblast. As a result of the falling debris, a grass fire broke out in an open area, which was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

On 10 July, the enemy launched a missile strike on an enterprise in the city of Voznesensk. One employee was killed, and eight people sustained moderate to minor injuries. A fire broke out at the warehouse, which was promptly extinguished by firefighters. The blast wave damaged seven residential buildings, an office building, an agricultural enterprise’s hangar, and four vehicles.

An employee of the private company PAMIR-BUD who was at the site during the attack was killed due to the missile strike. 11 July was declared a day of mourning in Voznesensk.

In the evening of 10 July, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community and its water area with FPV drones. One of the attacks damaged a non-functional building of a farming enterprise.

Odesa oblast

Yesterday, russian occupation forces attacked Odesa oblast with an X-31P anti-radar missile.

A cargo ship was detained in the Black Sea for entering Ukrainian ports occupied by russia for commercial purposes, in violation of Ukrainian and international law. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the ship was sailing under the flag of a Central African country, and its crew was executing orders from russia to transport Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

As of the morning of 11 July, there were 2 enemy ships in the Black Sea. In the Sea of Azov, there are also 2 enemy ships, with no Kalibr cruise missile carriers present. There are 2 Kalibr cruise missile carriers in the Mediterranean Sea with a total salvo of up to 24 missiles.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, Spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, reported that there could be around 400 mines in the Black Sea. However, he noted that this is an approximate number, as it is difficult to calculate the exact figure due to the detonation of the Kakhovka HPP and the entry of explosive devices into the water. The Dnipro River was heavily mined, and after the explosion, the “big water washed all of this” into the Dnipro-Boh estuary.

Kherson oblast

russian forces attacked volunteers from an international charitable organization. In Stanislav, the enemy hit a car delivering humanitarian aid to the residents of the city with a drone, damaging the vehicle.

In the morning, the occupiers dropped an explosive device from a UAV onto a firefighter’s vehicle that was extinguishing a fire caused by enemy shelling in Bilozirka territorial community. Overall, Kherson’s fire and rescue units extinguished 31 fires caused by enemy shelling over the past day.

Yesterday, russian forces shelled the de-occupied part of Kherson oblast using multiple rocket launch systems, artillery, aviation, and UAVs. The areas under russian fire included Kherson, Novodmytrivka, Antonivka, Stanislav, Kizomys, Yasna Poliana, Chornobaivka, Inhulets, Fedorivka, Shyroka Balka, Beryslav, Novovoznesenske, Novokairy, Tiahynka, Havrylivka, Urozhaine, Lvove, and Olhivka. As a result of the shelling, one person was killed, and three others were injured. A multi-story building, 17 private houses, an administrative building, seven trucks, a farm building, and a warehouse were damaged.

Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office has opened a criminal case over the murder of a young man in the occupied village of Preobrazhenka in Kherson oblast. According to the investigation, russian forces killed him on 4 July, 2024. This information became known from a message posted on the internet by the rector of one of Kherson University, where the deceased had previously studied.

Troops from the 124th Territorial Defense Brigade, operating on Kherson front, received a Workshop-Locker mobile repair workshop. This complex will ensure quick and efficient repair of military equipment.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council sent 10 Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite tablets to the Da Vinci Wolves Battalion thanks to the community budget.

Zakarpattia oblast

Uzhgorod City Council reported that UAH 625,000 was allocated from the budget of the city for the payment of one-time financial aid to 9 more family members of fallen Defenders of Ukraine from Uzhhorod, and 3 representatives of families of prisoners of war and missing Defenders.

In the exhibition hall of Zakarpattia Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, the photo exhibition Invincibility in the Lens opened. The exhibition documents the crimes of the russian invaders on Ukrainian soil. In the photo, you can see the tired faces of soldiers, rescuers, doctors, elderly people and children. Organisers collected over 1,000 photos, mostly taken by the press services of various organisations and military units.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

At night, an air alert was again announced in Prykarpattia. The enemy attacked the area with air targets. Air defence shot down all the drones. There were no casualties or destruction of civil infrastructure.

Lviv oblast

During the air alert, which lasted in the Lviv region from 01:01 am to 02:54 am on 11 July, 1 enemy drone crossed the airspace of the oblast. It was destroyed by the forces and means of anti-aircraft defence of the Zahid Air Command. There were no casualties, damage or destruction.

The RMA held a meeting of the Coordination Center. This time, about 60 representatives of charitable foundations, international and public organisations, as well as employees of structural units of Lviv RMA joined the discussion. They discussed settlement of evacuees, employment and voucher support for IDPs, as well as preparation for winter.

The 7th border Carpathian detachment received equipment worth over UAH 2.5m thanks to Lviv RMA and Lviv IT Cluster Guardian. Part of the equipment will work on the western border of Ukraine, the rest will be donated to the unit that performs tasks in Vovchansk region. All funds were raised by employees of over 300 companies participating in the Cluster. This is already the 6th major donation within the scope of this project. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale russian-Ukrainian war, the Cluster community has donated over UAH 126m to the needs of defenders.

Rivne oblast

David Novy, Consul General of the Czech Republic in Lviv, visited Rivne Regional War Veterans Hospital. The Consul and representatives of the Czech Institute of Healthcare Technologies got acquainted with the work of the institution, talked with its patients. The Czech Institute currently implements several medical initiatives in different regions of Ukraine. They discussed the possibility of implementing a joint project on the basis of the hospital with the involvement of EU funds.

The 1st event on support and social adaptation of veterans of Dubenska Sila was completed in the oblast. The project will spread to other districts, the next one will be Sarne region, and the event will be called Sarne Victory.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil City Council reported that fighters of the Ternopil 35th Battalion received 50 FPV drones and 2 Mavic 3 quadcopters.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The Air Defense Forces within Khmelnytskyi oblast destroyed 1 enemy UAV of the Shahed type. There were no consequences.

Khmelnytskyi community sent 5 powerful EW devices worth over UAH 2.4m to the military thanks to the budget funds. Tools are multi-channel, giving the opportunity to overlap different ranges. Since the beginning of 2024, the community has already handed over almost 80 REE and REP facilities.

Chernivtsi oblast

Since the beginning of the year, 185 IDP have found work in Bukovina. The largest number of employed people is in Chernivtsi region – 127 people, in Dnistrovskyi region – 45, and 13 in Vyzhnytskyi region.

The RMA reported that over 1,500 streets were renamed in Bukovina, the names of which contained symbols of the communist regime and russian imperial policy.

The RMA reported that Krasnoilsk community allocated funds for fuel and lubricants for police officers for their mobility and prompt response to calls. 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

NATO members agreed on a €40bn aid plan for Ukraine in 2025. The White House reported that half of this amount will be covered by the US, and the other half by the allies.

Justin Trudeau, Canadian Prime Minister, announced that the country announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth 500m Canadian dollars.

The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with an additional €300m for ammunition for the F-16. The funds will be allocated in addition to €150m previously allocated for this purpose.

Ukraine and Romania signed a security agreement. Romania will assist Ukraine in demining the Black Sea and provide support through EU and NATO instruments and assist the F-16 training centre to train Ukrainian pilots.

Ukraine and Luxembourg signed a security agreement. Luxembourg will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine and will continue to support the protection of human life.

Anthony Blinken, US Secretary of State, stated that the F-16 is already on its way from Denmark to Ukraine. The planes will join the defence of Ukrainian skies this summer.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Keir Starmer, new Prime Minister of Great Britain. They discussed supporting Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with the US Senate delegation led by leaders of both parties. The situation on the battlefield and defence support from the US were discussed.

The Parliament of Moldova observed a moment of silence in memory of those who were killed as a result of the russian attack on Kyiv on 8 July. Ihor Grosu, Speaker of the Parliament, suggested commemorating the victims.

In Brussels, people came to the European Parliament after the shelling of Okhmatdyt. The rally began with a moment of silence. After that, participants turned to leaders of NATO members, who gathered for the summit in Washington, and called to close the Ukrainian skies.
