It has been the 878 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:   

The situation on the frontline remains tense but under control. Ukrainian defenders continue to actively counter the Russian aggressor, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment.

A total of 92 combat engagements have taken place since the beginning of the day.

Border settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts continue to suffer from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian Federation. The shelling from cannon artillery and multiple rocket launchers hit areas of the settlements, including Dmytrivka, Bachivsk, Velyka Pysarivka, Sydorivka, Turia, Osoivka and Senkivka.

At the same time, Kharkiv oblast was under bombardment by enemy aircraft. Today, from the russian cities of Belgorod and Shebekino, terrorists launched nine airstrikes, dropping 15 UAVs. They targeted the areas of Ukrainian settlements Lyptsi, Vovchansk, Hlyboke and Mali Prokhody.

In addition, towards Kharkiv, russian invaders unsuccessfully attacked the defensive lines of Ukrainian units near Vovchansk and Hlyboke three times.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy also tried to storm the positions of our troops near Berestove three times. All enemy attacks were repelled by Ukrainian defenders.

Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out 10 attacks near Makiivka, Hrekivka and Nevske. Seven engagements ended without success for the enemy, three more are ongoing. The situation is under control.

Towards Siversk, the enemy has become more active near Bilohorivka, Spirne, Verkhnokamianske, Vyimka and Rozdolivka. The Ukrainian defence forces are steadily holding back the enemy. Nine enemy attacks have been repelled so far, and two more are ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, the invaders made four assaults on the positions of our troops near Hryhorivka, Ivanivske and Chasiv Yar. Two battles were completed, two more are ongoing.

Towards Toretsk, 15 enemy attacks took place near Pivnichne, Toretsk and Niu-York. Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 enemy attacks, and one more combat engagement is ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, since the beginning of the day, the invaders have made the largest number of attempts to push our defenders from their positions near Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Kalynove, Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Persha, Karlivka, Prohres and Yurivka. The defence forces are holding back the attack and repelling 19 enemy attacks, 12 battles are still ongoing. The enemy’s losses are being clarified.

Towards Kurakhove, two battles continue near Nevelske and Krasnohorivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled four more enemy attacks near Dalne, Kostiantynivka and Paraskoviivka.

Towards Vremivka, Ukrainian troops repelled three russian assaults near Urozhaine and Makarivka. At the moment, fighting is ongoing near Vodiane.

Towards Huliipole, the invaders failed near Huliipole.

Towards Orikhiv, russian invaders attacked Ukrainian troops’ positions twice. One attack was unsuccessful near Robotyne, and another is ongoing near Mala Tokmachka.

Towards Prydniprovskyi, our defenders repelled two enemy attacks near Krynky. No positions were lost.

Volodymyr Zhovnir, General Director of the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital, reported that he spoke at a UN Security Council meeting on the russian attack on the hospital. At the time of the attack, 600 patients and the same number of staff were in the hospital. Three complex operations were underway. Children were on drips, dialysis, and intensive care units. A russian missile hit the intensive care and chronic intoxication units. Part of the building was completely destroyed. 24 departments were damaged. More than 300 people were injured, including 8 children. Two adults died. More than 600 patients were evacuated, 100 of them to other hospitals. 

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal informed that the state will completely rebuild the hospital. The government has already allocated UAH 100m for priority reconstruction works. Funding will be increased as the reconstruction project is prepared. In addition, families with children affected by the russian attack on the hospital will receive assistance from UNICEF in the amount of UAH 10,800 per family member.

Mykola Kuleba, Founder of the Save Ukraine charity organisation, said that another 8 children were rescued from the russian occupation. Among them are children aged 7 to 17 from the temporarily occupied parts of Kherson and Donetsk oblasts. Some of the Ukrainians have already tried to leave the occupation, but they say that the russians detained, interrogated, threatened and beat them unconscious. The Save Ukraine team managed to rescue 405 children from russia and the TOT. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The Armed Forces General Staff reported at 4pm that during the day, russian troops dropped 15 MRLs near Lyptsi, Vovchansk, Hlyboke and Mali Prokhody.

Towards Kharkiv, russians unsuccessfully attacked the defensive lines of Ukrainian units near Vovchansk and Hlyboke three times, and towards Kupiansk, they stormed the positions of the Defence Forces near Berestove three times. All attacks were repelled.

The RMA added that at around 8am, russians attacked Kozacha Lopan village of Derhachi community, Kharkiv region. The shelling damaged the building of the village council.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv Military Administration, stated that 9 FPV drones attacked the house of the headman of the border village of Ivashky at 6am. The attack damaged the house and outbuildings, and destroyed the Starlink that provided communication with the village.

13 settlements and almost 2,400 subscribers are without electricity as a result of a russian drone attack on a substation in Odnorobivka, Zolochiv community.

At 5:03am, russians attacked Kupiansk. The shelling damaged a gas pipe, 2 private households and destroyed a logistics infrastructure facility.

Yesterday at 5:35pm, russians attacked Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi village of Kupiansk region. As a result of the shelling, an outbuilding burned.

At 4:43pm, russians attacked Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi village of Kupiansk region, as a result of the shelling, a one-storey family house was burning, a 4-storey residential building damaged and a private house destroyed. A 40-year-old man, an 88-year-old woman and an 18-year-old girl were injured. A 73-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction. Two people were killed on the spot: a 73-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman.

At 3:30pm, russians attacked Borshchova village of Lyptsi community, Kharkiv region, two MRLs hit a coniferous forest.

At 12:20pm, russians attacked Tsyrkuny village of Tsyrkuny community, Kharkiv region, damaging a private house and adjacent buildings.

 Towards Kharkiv, the enemy continued active operations with a total of eight combat engagements taking place. Fighting took place near Vovchansk, Starytsia and Lyptsi.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attacked the positions of our units ten times. The defence forces repelled the enemy’s assault near Berestove, Pishchane and Synkivka.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, at a joint briefing with Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, informed that about 40,000 vulnerable families in Kharkiv oblast are to be provided with liquefied gas in cylinders for the heating season.

Kharkiv police chief Volodymyr Tymoshko reported on Suspilne TV that since 10 May, 125 people have been killed in Kharkiv oblast as a result of the war, including four children. According to him, 772 people have been injured over the past two months, including 42 children.

On 10 July, two months had passed since the start of the russian offensive in the north of Kharkiv oblast. The Kharkiv operational-tactical group said that there are certain areas where the russians have managed to temporarily gain a foothold, and they are trying to resume their offensive, but they are failing. Particular attention is paid to Vovchansk, Lyptsi and Starytsia, the situation there is stable. Sotnytskyi Kozachok is controlled by the Defence Forces. The russians are trying to set up positions towards Kharkiv and are losing their specialised equipment. Over the past two months, the estimated losses of the russian army amount to approximately 91%: 2,939 invaders eliminated, 6,509 were injured and 45 russians surrendered. Due to the losses, many russian units have been withdrawn from Kharkiv axis for reconstruction and regrouping. The russian Federation continues to build up its forces. The Kharkiv operational-tactical group notes that towards here, the defenders lack air defence kits that would allow them to seize the initiative in the air.

The regional prosecutor’s office reported that during the occupation of Kupiansk region, russians kidnapped and tortured at least two policemen on a farm in Ohurtsivka. The case of one of the kidnappers was referred to court. The occupier will be tried in absentia, he is wanted.

Donetsk oblast

Donetsk police reported that during the day, russian troops launched 2,428 attacks in the oblast.

The shelling hit 11 settlements: Konstiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Kurakhove, Myrnohrad, Toretsk, Chasiv Yar, Novoekonomichne, Yampil, Dalne, Memryk and Uspenivka.

37 civilian objects were damaged, including 14 residential buildings, an enterprise, an educational institution, vehicles and a gas pipeline.

The invaders dropped a KAB-250 guided missile on Toretsk, killing a civilian man and damaging four private homes and a business.

As a result of the strike on Kramatorsk, 5 residents were wounded, including a girl born in 2018. Three apartment buildings, an educational institution and 7 cars were destroyed.

Two civilians were injured in Chasiv Yar.

Myrnohrad came under four russian shelling attacks, with a KAB-500 bomb, Smerch and Tornado-S MRLs. Four private houses, a non-residential building, cars, and a gas pipeline were damaged.

The enemy attacked Novoekonomichne with two UMPB D-30SN bombs and multiple rocket launchers. An industrial facility and 4 civilian cars were damaged.

In Kostiantynivka, the russians used a drone to damage a private house.

Luhansk oblast

The two households destroyed by the russians yesterday were located close to each other. According to the RMA, the hostile shelling of Nevske took place around 7pm. Residential buildings were destroyed. The invaders shelled this village, as well as neighbouring Makiivka, with cannon artillery and drones throughout the day. The enemy also attacked Makiivka with a multiple rocket launcher system.

 

The enemy attempted to attack near Bilohorivka, Hrekivka, Nevske and Makiivka.

The security situation is difficult, but the residents of Nevskoye received food and medicine, as well as fuel ordered by the locals.

Residents of the frontline towns and villages seized in 2022 are no longer even promised when they will be able to get their mobile phones and internet back. The last time mobile services were officially available there was in February 2023. Since then, the population has been in an information vacuum.

In Sievierodonetsk, you can bypass some of the bans and connect to the network for rub 7,000. This is the cost of an amplifier that will allow you to receive text messages and sometimes even images. There are not enough resources to upload videos.

The occupiers have completely destroyed Popasna and the surrounding settlements. Instead of 20,000 people, only a few hundred locals remain in the town. For two years, no reconstruction work has been carried out in the settlement. There is not a single shop in the town. However, an alternative has been found. Recently, one of the 50 car shops provided to the so-called “luhansk people’s republic” by the kremlin has been operating there. Those who have money can buy food from it at prices set by the entrepreneurs who own the kiosks. The shop on wheels does not come every day, as it has to serve the villages of Popasna and Hirske communities destroyed by russia, specifically, Komyshuvakha and Toshkivka.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

All rescue and relief operations after the massive russian missile attack on 8 July have been completed in Kyiv. Kyiv City State Administration reported that 33 people were killed, including 5 children and 121 people were injured, including 10 children. In particular, 2 people were killed in the Okhmatdyt hospital, 14 people, including 5 children, were killed in a residential building on Volodymyra Salskoho Street, 7 in the Dominion business centre, 9 in the Adonis clinic, and 2 near the Lukianivska metro station.

The russian massive attack on Kyiv resulted in 129 buildings being damaged and destroyed. 11 fires with a total area of 3380m² were extinguished. Rescuers managed to rescue 10 people, including three children.

KMWA reported  that as of the morning of 10 July, 38 people injured in the enemy’s missile attack on 8 July remained hospitalised. Six of them are in serious condition. In addition, 6 children from the Okhmatdyt hospital are being treated in children’s hospitals in the city. 

In total, 100 young patients of the affected hospital are undergoing inpatient treatment in other medical institutions in Kyiv and oblast.

The Okhmatdyt CEO at a UN Security Council meeting informed that the attack on the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital will have long-term consequences, patients will not receive proper care and specialised services of the medical institution with high-quality equipment will not be provided in the near future.

Ukrainians raised UAH 300m for Okhmatdyt in 41 hours. The fundraising campaign initiated by United24 and monobank is closed. 320,000 people from 55 countries joined the campaign.

In Irpin, a building restored with the help of the UNITED24 platform was put into operation on Davydchuk Street. Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv Regional Administration of Civilian Protection, announced that residents of 120 apartments of the five-storey building destroyed by the russians can return to their homes. 

According to him, UNITED24 will help rebuild 18 houses in Kyiv oblast that were home to 4,000 people before the war.

On 9 July, St Michael’s Cathedral in Kyiv paid its last tribute to soldier Volodymyr Serhiievskyi, call sign “Irishman”, who died on 4 July in a battle near Kurakhove in Donetsk oblast. Volodymyr had been a participant in the ATO since 2014, and from the beginning of the full-scale war he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served with the 72nd Separate Mechanised Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. He was also a member of the Military Hub team and Kyiv City Youth Council.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko reported that Kyiv oblast have sent 50 fpv drones and a Mavic T as a charitable donation to the soldiers of the 42nd Separate Mechanised Brigade fighting in Kharkiv oblast.

On 2, 6 and 9 July, Ukrainian Women’s Guard held physical and psycho-emotional recovery classes called “Relax for the Body” at Borodianka military hospital. The participants gathered to relieve stress, restore inner balance and find harmony between body and mind. The next session will be held on Saturday, 13 July. To participate, you need to register.  

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr Regional State Administration reported that since the beginning of July, the Transparency and Accountability Working Group has analysed 9 contracts through the Prozzoro system related to the arrangement and reconstruction of shelters in oblast’s educational institutions.

In Korosten, a working meeting was held between the authorities and a delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to discuss the results of the EU4UA Schools project in community educational institutions. The EU4UA Schools project aims to modernise educational institutions to improve the quality of education and create a safe learning environment. International partners visited the renovated premises of educational institutions and talked to their administrations.

Zhytomyr State University named after Ivan Franko hosted a roundtable discussion with the leaders of the War and Disability NGO. The event was attended by representatives of social protection agencies, the Department of Justice, territorial recruitment and social support centres, academics and the media.

Young people from Zhytomyr ob;ast took part in the training of the children’s and youth military-patriotic game Dzhura. The training took place from 1 to 7 July in Cherkasy oblast. The exercises included shooting, tactical training, tactical medicine and drill training.

Sumy oblast

The RMA reported that at night and in the morning of 10 July, russians fired at Bilopillia and Esman border communities. A total of 4 explosions were recorded: 3 mortar attacks and an FPV drone strike.

Over the past day, the russian military fired 24 times in Sumy oblast, with a total of 67 explosions recorded. 9 border communities were shelled:

the enemy attacked Bilopillia community with an FPV drone (1 strike) and dropped explosive devices from a UAV (6 explosions);

the russians dropped 6 mines on the territory of Shalyhyne community and struck with an FPV drone;

A long-range UAV attack was recorded in Khotyn community. An enemy helicopter launched NAR missiles (4 explosions). There were also mortar attacks (6 explosions) and artillery attacks (6 explosions);

Velyka Pysarivka community – an enemy helicopter launched NAR missiles (6 explosions), mortar attacks (9 explosions);

The enemy fired at Krasnopillia community with artillery (3 explosions), mortars (3 explosions) and dropped explosive devices from a UAV (2 explosions);

FPV drone strikes were carried out on the territory of Znob-Novhorodske (4 strikes), Seredyna-Buda (2 strikes), Esman (6 strikes) and Hlukhiv (1 strike) communities.

The regional police informed that on 9 July, 21 settlements came under fire from the territory of the russian federation. According to the North Military Command, russian shelling damaged a private house in Seredyna-Buda. There were no civilian casualties.

1,500 food parcels from the GEM organisation arrived in Sumy for the IDPs arriving in the community. According to Sumy City Administration, almost 29,000 people from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and border communities of Sumy oblast have moved to the community.

The Poruch project for school-age children is being implemented in Sumy oblast. As part of the project, children are offered to restore their psychological state through physical activity. The organisers invite students who have experienced traumatic experiences due to the hostilities in the ob;ast and organise sports events for them. This time, activities for children from Bilopillia community were organised at the Yubileinyi Stadium. 

Chernihiv oblast

Over the past day, russian troops attacked five border settlements with various types of weapons. A total of 41 explosions were recorded. According to the SBGSU, 4 border communities were under enemy fire.

Semenivka community: 7 attacks with mortars and FPV drones in the direction of Leonivka and Tymonovychi.

Snovsk community: 29 attacks with an MLRS in the direction of Kliusy.

Novhorod-Siverskyi community: 4 mortar attacks in the direction of Krasny Khutir.

Horodnia community: an FPV drone strike in the direction of Senkivka. 

A two-storey house on Shevchenka Street, which was damaged as a result of a rocket attack on Chernihiv on 17 April, will be repaired at public expense. The tender was announced by the housing and Communal Services Department of Chernihiv City Council. In addition to repairing the building itself, it is planned to rebuild the area around it. This is the second time this building has been damaged by russian shelling. The first time was at the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022.

At the session of Chernihiv City Council, a decision was made to help military units with equipment and machinery worth about UAH 10m. Acting Mayor of Chernihiv Oleksandr Lomako informed that military units have requested quadcopters, laptops, tablets, Mavics and other equipment.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

An enemy Shahed was shot down at night by defenders of the skies over the oblast.

Attacks on Nikopol region continued. In the evening and in the morning, the enemy fired artillery and drones at the Marhanets community and Nikopol. Infrastructure was damaged. According to updated information, a fire destroyed 4.7 hectares of wheat in Myrove community as a result of yesterday’s shelling. No people were injured.

It is a difficult day for Nikopol region. The invaders once again terrorised civilians. A 62-year-old man was killed in the regional centre. Five people were injured, including a 13-year-old boy. Three men, aged 32, 34 and 39, and a 70-year-old woman were hospitalised. The enemy targeted Nikopol, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovsk communities. Businesses and infrastructure, more than two dozen houses were damaged, several fires broke out, garages and outbuildings were destroyed and damaged. Greenhouses, cars, power lines and gas pipelines were also damaged.

This year, 243 veterans from the oblast will be able to receive housing. A subvention of UAH 525.3m has been allocated from the regional state budget for this purpose, which is 48.3% of the total need. Among those who will own new homes are IDPs who defended Ukraine, veterans with disabilities and participants in combat operations abroad.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ In Vinnytsia oblast, air defence forces shot down two enemy Shahed UAVs overnight. There were no reports of casualties or damage to infrastructure. The search for the wreckage continues.

On 20 July, a charity event “Evening at the Cartoons” is being organised in Vinnytsia to support the Brigade of the 12th Brigade of the Azov Brigade and the 3rd Brigade. The event will be held in honour of the fallen Vinnytsia soldiers “Treina” (Denys Babii), “Hrienka” (Nazarii Hryntsevych), and “Lutsyk” (Yevhen Lutsenko).

It became known that four defenders from Vinnytsia oblast were killed, specifically, Oleksandr Denysov, Oleksandr Hnitetskyi, Serhii Hrytsenko and Yevhen Lutsenko.

Denisov Oleksandr was killed in Kharkiv oblast while returning from his position on 1 July. The defender was 36 years old.

On 2 July, Oleksandr Hnitetskyi, a resident of Zhmerynka community, died in Donetsk oblast. The defender was 33 years old.

On 4 July, Serhii Snitkovskyi’s heart stopped while he was on holiday. The defender was 37 years old. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine last year. In particular, he performed military tasks towards Zaporizhzhia, and in recent months, he held the defence near Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, Kharkiv oblast.

On 6 July, Mykola Buhera, a resident of Bershad community, died in Poltava oblast. The soldier was a senior soldier.

Viacheslav Sokolovyi, Head of the RMA, informed that a 6-month-old boy is being treated in Vinnytsia after russian shelling of the Okhmatdyt hospital. In Kyiv, the baby underwent a complex heart surgery that lasted 10 hours. After the shelling, the boy was transferred to Vinnytsia.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi Regional Military Administration, relatives of 18 soldiers killed in the russian-Ukrainian war from the regional communities were awarded posthumously the Order for Courage, III class, and the commander’s award of the 37th separate motorised infantry battalion.

Poltava oblast

Poltava residents have donated another car for the defenders of Ukraine from Poltava oblast. A KIA Sportage will be sent to the frontline. The off-road vehicle will serve the 60th separate mechanised brigade.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, reported that an attack drone was destroyed over Zvenyhorod region. There were no consequences. The inspection of the territories continues.

The 118th separate brigade of the Cherkasy Territorial Defence Forces will soon be led by a new commander. On 9 July, the previous commander, Colonel Anatolii Stuzhenko, resigned and said goodbye to the team.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 9 July, the invaders launched 476 attacks on 11 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. 1 man was injured due to a russian attack. The russian forces carried out a total of 5 airstrikes on Robotyne, Rivnopillia and Kopani.

A total of 228 UAVs of various modifications attacked Bilenke, Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novodanylivka and Novoandriivka. 16 MLRS attacks targeted Robotyne, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka and Malynivka. 27 artillery strikes hit the territories of Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Levadne, Malynivka and Novodanylivka. There were 27 reports of residential building and infrastructure facility destruction.

As a result of russian shelling, a fire and rescue station of the State Emergency Service in Zaporizhzhia oblast was damaged in a frontline settlement. The garage roof burned over an area of 400 sq m, and a fire and rescue vehicle in the premises was damaged. The personnel were in a shelter and were not injured.

Struggling with heavy losses on the front, russia is transferring new forces through Zaporizhzhia oblast. Recently, the movement of a new unit from Zaporizhzhia oblast towards Volnovakha was recorded. 21 covered trucks with enemy personnel were spotted moving.

Mykolaiv oblast

On the night of 10 July, the occupying forces attacked Mykolaiv oblast by 4 Shahed 131/136 drones. Air defence forces and assets destroyed all 4 drones. A fire broke out in dry grass in an open area due to falling debris. The fire was promptly extinguished. There were no casualties reported.

Over 6 months, russian shelling has caused more than UAH 30m in damage to Mykolaiv oblast’s ecosystem. The State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine assessed the damage from fires caused by the russians. Since the beginning of the year, fires in the ecosystems of 6 communities in Mykolaiv oblast have been caused by enemy shelling: Kutsurub, Prybuzhan, Horokhiv, Stepiv, Bratske and Olshanske. The total area of these fires reached 14 hectares and carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere exceeded 9.6 thousand tonnes.

Odesa oblast

On the night of 10 July, russian occupiers attacked Odesa oblast by missiles. The target was port infrastructure, killing 2 people – a security guard and a truck driver. A deckhand was injured and is currently receiving all necessary medical assistance in the hospital. Several warehouse facilities, cargo vehicles and a civilian ship were damaged. A liquid spill occurred due to the ship’s damage and mitigation efforts are ongoing.

Recently, volunteers from Bolhrad city purchased equipment requested by the marines of the 88th Separate Battalion and sent it to the front. They acquired equipment for an FPV drone retransmitter, including video modules and control modules necessary to increase the drone’s range and improve its performance, as well as transmitters, masts and other components. Ground stations were custom-made according to the military’s specifications, as the required items were not available off the shelf.

Kherson oblast

On 9 July, russian occupying forces attacked 12 settlements in Kherson oblast. The areas under enemy fire and airstrikes included Dniprovske, Kizomys, Beryslav, Stanislav, Antonivka, Tokarivka, Shyroka Balka, Sadove, Tiahynka, Zolota Balka, Olhivka and Kherson. Due to russian aggression, 1 person was killed and 4 injured.

The russian forces targeted an educational institution, residential areas, including an apartment building and 18 private homes. A garage and a vehicle were also damaged. During the night of 9-10 July, russian Shahed UAVs were shot down in Kherson oblast. The exact number of drones downed in Kherson was not reported, but they were among the 14 shot down across Ukraine. In total, russian forces launched 20 drones from the temporarily occupied Crimea and from russian territory.

As reported by the press service of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defenders from the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center destroyed 15 russian boats in Kherson oblast by drones with drop systems.

According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kherson oblast, rescuers in Kherson oblast, along with local fire services, responded to 23 fires in ecosystems caused by enemy shelling. The total area of the fires was 28.85 hectares.

Volyn oblast

Volyn oblast sent a donor car to help victims of the russian attack. This is a mobile blood transfusion station, which is equipped with everything necessary for the donor and staff. Therefore, already today, everyone who cares will be able to donate much-needed blood for the victims of the russian attack.

Zakarpattia oblast

More UAH 159m from the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation were directed to support the defenders from the budget of Uzhhorod community. Financial assistance was provided to military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the request of unit commanders.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk community sent 3 REBs, 2 Ecoflows and 2 Mavics to tankers of the community and a Mavic and 20 FPV drones to the 80th Separate Assault Brigade.

Lviv oblast

In accordance with the Presidential Decree, Ihor Kolotyla and Volodymyr Sinytsia were awarded with the III degree Order of Courage. Ihor Kolotylo served in the 93rd Separate Mechanised Brigade Kholodnyi Yar. The soldier was killed on 19 February, 2023 in Bakhmut. Volodymyr Sinytsia, Commander of the Rifle Division, on 11 March, 2022 was wounded while performing a combat mission. He died of his injuries on 22 March, 2023.

Rivne oblast

At night, during an air alert in Rivne oblast, an energy infrastructure object was attacked by enemy drones. All relevant services are on site. The ignition is localised. People were not injured as a result of this blow.

The 111th Safety Classroom was opened in Rivne oblast with the support of Polish partners. The Safety Classroom in Dubna became the 1st in Ukraine, created with the funds of foreign partners. Thus, the Academy of the Fire Service of the Republic of Poland provided financial support for the arrangement of a safe space.

Shelters continue to be actively built in the oblast. A protective structure will be erected near a kindergarten in Bila Krynytsia. The expected cost is almost UAH 20m. Major repairs of the anti-radiation shelter will be carried out in the regional children’s hospital. The cost is slightly over UAH 19m. The storage facility in the regional clinical hospital will also be repaired for over UAH 20m.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil City Council introduced free driving courses with obtaining a driver’s licence of all categories on the basis of the Miskavtotrans Driving School. To date, 49 mobilised and demobilised soldiers from Ternopil are undergoing training.

The RMA reported that soldiers of the 42nd Separate Mechanised Brigade received 3 Mavic drones thanks to the funds of the regional budget.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that at night, during the air alarm signal, the Air Defense Forces destroyed 1 enemy UAV of the Shahed type. According to preliminary information, without consequences.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Vasyl Andrytsulyak, Head of the Department of State Energy Inspection in Chernivtsi oblast, and Oleksandr Niverchuk, Head of the Chernivtsioblenerho JSC. They discussed problematic issues of providing consumers of Chernivtsi oblast with electric energy in conditions of shortage of electric capacities in the unified energy system of Ukraine.

In Chernivtsi Regional Hospital For War Veterans, another inclusive ward was made. It was arranged in the institution with the funds raised by religious organisations of the oblast during the prayer breakfast, which took place this year in April. In accordance with barrier-free standards, the chamber is equipped with everything necessary for the convenience of people with disabilities.

Since the beginning of the year, 185 IDPs have found work in Bukovina. The largest number of employed people is in Chernivtsi region – 127 people, in Dnistrovskyi region – 45, and 13 in Vyzhnytskyi region.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The US will provide Ukraine with an additional Patriot battery. Viktor Liashko, Minister of Health of Ukraine, announced that 30 countries of the world are ready to accept children from Okhmatdyt for treatment. The Head of the Ministry of Health called on parents of children who were in the hospital at the time of the terrorist attack to contact their medics. The department promised to take over all bureaucratic procedures with documents. And the children should be sent abroad as soon as possible, because diseases do not wait for the end of the war. At the time of the rocket attack, approximately 630 children were in the medical facility.

Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, announced that UNICEF will allocate financial aid to families (UAH 10,800 for each family member) who suffered from the attack on Okhmatdyt.

Michael Carpenter, Director of European Affairs of the National Security Council of the White House, stated that the US are in favor of investigating the attack on Okhmatdyt as a war crime of the russian federation. Attacking civilian infrastructure is a war crime. As for attacks on medical facilities, there is a separate prohibition under international humanitarian law.

Ambassadors of 27 EU countries will discuss Orban’s trips to moscow and Beijing at the beginning of Hungary’s 6-month EU presidency. The closed-door meeting will be held at the request of Poland, which issued reservations after Viktor Orban traveled to moscow on 5 July and to Beijing on 8 July on what he calls a “peace mission.” Josep Borel, EU Foreign Policy Chief, stated that Orban’s visit to moscow took place exclusively within the framework of bilateral relations between Hungary and russia and Orban did not receive any mandate from the EU Council to visit moscow.
