What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 10 July, there were 114 combat engagements on the front line. Ukrainian defenders are halting the enemy’s advance, holding the defensive lines, and disrupting russia’s plans.

russian artillery shelling affected residential areas in several settlements, including Chervone, Marinka, Seredyna-Buda, Novovasylivka, Bila Bereza, Kozache, and Manukhivka in Sumy oblast.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, the enemy carried out 15 offensive actions; two battles are still ongoing. The enemy launched five airstrikes, dropped a total of eight guided aerial bombs, and carried out 163 shelling attacks, including four with multiple launch rocket systems.

Towards Southern Sloboda, Ukrainian troops repelled an enemy assault near Starytsia.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy launched two attacks near Stepova Novoselivka, one of which is still ongoing.

Towards Lyman, there were 20 combat clashes, with six still continuing. The enemy attempted assaults near Novoiehorivka, Novyi Myr, Karpivka, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, Kolodiazi, Torske, and in the vicinity of Serebrianka and Hryhorivka.

Towards Siversk, the enemy conducted eight attacks; six were successfully repelled by Ukrainian forces. russian units tried to advance near Hryhorivka, Ivano-Dariivka, Verkhniokamianske, and towards Vyiimka.

Towards Kramatorsk, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks near Chasiv Yar and in the vicinity of Predtechyne and Bila Hora. One engagement is still ongoing.

Towards Toretsk, four enemy assaults were successfully repelled. The invaders attempted to advance near Diliivka, Toretsk, and Katerynivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, russian forces attempted 38 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Popiv Yar, Myrne, Razine, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Shevchenko, Zvirove, Udachne, Novosergiivka, Muravka, Orikhove, and Oleksiivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled 32 of these assaults, and the fighting continues.

Towards Novopavlivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 enemy attacks near Zaporizhzhia, Tolstoi, Piddubne, Myrne, Shevchenko, and Zelene Pole. Five enemy attacks are still in progress.

Towards Huliaipole, russian aviation launched unguided missile strikes on Zaliznychne and towards Orikhiv, near Plavni.

Towards Kherson, the aggressor carried out four unsuccessful attacks against Ukrainian positions; one battle is still ongoing.

In other directions, there were no significant changes in the situation.

Ukrainian forces continue to wear down the enemy along the entire line of contact and deep in the rear.

According to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, in June 2025, russia killed the highest number of civilians in Ukraine in the past three years. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, at least 13,580 civilian deaths have been documented, including 716 children.

During the night of July 10, Russia launched 18 missiles and approximately 400 drones against Ukrainian territory. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the primary target was Kyiv and Kyiv oblast. Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, and Kharkiv regions also came under attack.

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline

There were 201 combat clashes.

In the South-Slobozhansk direction, the aggressor stormed the positions of our defenders 13 times in the areas of the settlements of Vovchansk, Kamyanka, Krasne Pershe, Ambarne and towards Lyptsy and Petro-Ivanivka.

In the Kupyansk direction, six attacks by the invaders took place over the past 24 hours. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions near Stepovaya Novoselivka, Radkivka and towards Novoosynovoye.

Shelling

On July 10, the russian military struck the city of Kupiansk, the villages of Myrne and Kantsedalivka.

The enemy shelled the village of Myrne with artillery. A 57-year-old man was injured by an explosion. He was hospitalized. A 66-year-old woman has an acute stress reaction.

A 59-year-old woman went to a local hospital. She was injured as a result of enemy shelling in the village of Kantsedalivka. The woman received a gunshot wound from shrapnel.

In the city of Kupiansk, a man who was at a bus stop was killed by an occupier strike. Investigation and operational teams, forensic experts and explosives technicians worked at the scene.

Maryna Shevchenko, Spokeswoman for the regional energy agency, says that the drone hit a car belonging to energy workers in Kupyansk on the morning of July 10 and was direct.

Taking advantage of the weather conditions, russians are hitting forests, causing significant fires. Units of the State Emergency Service are working around the clock in an intensified mode, in particular, today they are extinguishing 5 fires with an area of ​​​​about 130 hectares. The occupiers are also targeting fields and agricultural machinery.

11 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were hit by enemy strikes. 2 people were injured as a result of shelling.

In the village of Pechenyhi, a 61-year-old man was injured; in the village of Lisna Stinka, Kurylivka community, a 73-year-old man was injured.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons in the Kharkiv region:

▪️2 missiles (type to be determined);

▪️12 GABs;

▪️3 UAVs of the Shahed type;

▪️8 UAVs of the Geran-2 type;

▪️2 FPV drones.

Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:

▪️In Kupiansk region, an outpatient clinic (village of Prikolotne), 2 private houses, an emergency medical vehicle (city of Kupyansk); a warehouse (village of Velykyi Burluk); a house, power grids (village of Lebedivka); wheat burned on an area of ​​4 hectares (village Sadovod);

▪️7 private houses were damaged in Chuguyiv region (village Pechenyhi);

▪️500 sq m of wheat burned in Berestyn region (village Liashivka);

Other

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 200 units of KharkivOblenergo equipment have been damaged or destroyed as a result of hostilities. More than 150 emergency medical vehicles in the Kharkiv region have been damaged or destroyed as a result of russian strikes.

In the city of Zlatopil in the south of Kharkiv oblast, the construction of an anti-radiation shelter is more than a third complete, which will serve as the city’s first underground school. Children from the lyceum, on the territory of which the shelter is being built, will begin their studies approximately in January 2026. The estimated cost of construction, according to the head of the community, Mykola Baksheyev, is about 140 million hryvnias.

The RMA reports that 325 settlements in Kharkiv oblast are under evacuation status.

Over the past week, 1,119 explosive devices were defused in the oblast.

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

russian troops carried out at least 139 attacks towards Lyman, Siversk, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka.

The largest number of combat clashes was towards Pokrovsk, where the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 61 attacks.

Towards Novopavlivka, the Ukrainian military repelled 29 attacks near the settlements of Yalta, Myrne, Zelene Pole, Shevchenko, Vilne Pole.

Shelling

Serhii Horbunov, Head of Kostyantynivka city military administration, reports that on July 10, a russian drone hit a civilian car in the Kostyantynivka community, killing a driver. Due to the shelling, there is no electricity in Kostiantynivka. Nearby villages are partially without power.

On July 9, the police recorded 2,940 enemy shells on the front line and residential sector. russian troops shelled 19 settlements: the cities of Bilytske, Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kostyantynivka, Pokrovsk, Rodynske, Siversk, Sloviansk, the villages of Oleksandrivka, Vesele, Gromova Balka, Dibrova, Ivanopillia, Kamyanka, Kuritsyne, Novovodyanye, Novotroitske, Predtechyne, and Sofiivka.

103 civilian objects were destroyed, including 69 residential buildings.

Serhii Horbunov, Head of Kostyantynivka city military administration, reports that russians launched 11 airstrikes and drones on Kostiantynivka, killing 4 people and wounding two more. 22 private homes, an educational institution, an enterprise, a shop, a gym, a critical infrastructure facility, and 2 civilian cars were damaged. As a result of the enemy airstrike of FAB-250 with UMPK module, which took place on July 10 at 4:30, one civilian was injured, – said the  .

On the highway near Rodynske, the enemy struck with an FPV drone – 5 civilians who were in two cars were killed.

There were five wounded in Dobropillia, which was under attack by enemy drones from morning till night. An apartment building, a shop, a trading kiosk, a gas station, a car wash, railway infrastructure, and 11 civilian cars were destroyed.

Two civilians were injured in Siversk, a civilian car was damaged.

One person was wounded by the occupiers in Pokrovsk.

In addition, information has been established about one civilian killed and one injured in Rodynske as a result of a russian attack on a civilian car on July 8.

Other

Yulia Ryzhkova, Acting Head of the children’s service? says that in eight settlements of Donetsk oblast, where the forced evacuation of families with children is ongoing, 100 minors remain, in 81 families. The number of children subject to forced evacuation has increased due to four new settlements that were included in the list for the forced departure of minors. These are Raiske, Novohrygorivka, Staroraiske, and Krasny Kut.

The police reported that there are 13 evacuation groups operating in Donetsk oblast.

The city council reported that since the beginning of summer, residents of Mariupol have been posting videos and photos on social networks with sewage and fuel oil entering the sea.

Luhansk oblast

The invaders actively used barrel artillery, striking with the specified weapons 28 times. They directed 54 drones and 10 FPV drones against Ukrainian defenders. Towards Lyman and Siversk, the russians stormed a total of 37 times. In Luhansk region – near Hrekivka.

In the so-called “lpr” since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the price of water supply for the population has increased by 32%. From July 1, 49.15 rubles will be paid per cubic meter there. Another 29.33 – for one cubic meter of drainage. That is, a total of more than 78 rubles. For individual settlements of the occupied Luhansk oblast, the tariffs for the population are even higher – 62.72 rubles for the supply of a cubic meter of drinking water. As for legal entities. They will have to pay 66.19 rubles for supply and another 34.83 for withdrawal. The tariffs are valid until June 30, 2026, after which russians will once again review them in the direction of growth.

The invaders did not stop at the liquidation of more than 100 schools in Luhansk oblast. And they began to close the network of colleges and technical schools. There are currently 60 of them in total. But they will leave only those that meet the “needs of the local economy” and “regional development programs.”

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On the night of July 10, Russian forces attacked Kyiv using ballistic missiles and drones. Strikes and falling debris from intercepted targets were recorded in eight districts of the city.

At least two people were killed, and 25 others were injured as a result of the Russian attack. Among the injured is a girl born in 2008.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, damage was recorded at 12 locations. Among them are a school, residential, non-residential, and office buildings. At seven sites, residential buildings were damaged — with roofs, upper floors, facades, and interior spaces affected. Drone debris also fell on non-residential buildings, according to Shevchenkivskyi District Head Oleksandr Sazanovych. Two humanitarian aid centers have been set up in the district for those affected by the attack.

In the Podilskyi district, damage was recorded at six locations. As a result of the Russian attack, there was a fire and partial destruction of non-residential buildings, as well as broken window glass in a residential building, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA). A humanitarian aid center was also deployed in Podil to assist local residents.

In the Darnytskyi district, a garage complex caught fire, which was later extinguished. Drone debris also landed in the courtyard of a residential building.

In the Solomyanskyi district, fires were reported in a residential building and on the roof of a non-residential facility. A warehouse also caught fire.

In the Obolonskyi district, UAV debris fell on the territory of a shopping center.

In Darnytskyi, another non-residential building caught fire due to the attack.

The Holosiivskyi district of the capital was also affected: a truck caught fire following the Russian attack, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Two people were killed in Kyiv’s Podilskyi district as a result of Russia’s massive overnight attack on July 10. Among the victims was 22-year-old police officer Mariia Dziumaha, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the same overnight attack, the office of Channel 5 in Kyiv was also damaged. While no staff members were injured, the studio sustained destruction, some filming equipment was destroyed, and several workstations were damaged, the channel reported on its website.

The massive overnight attack on Kyiv region lasted nearly 10 hours. In the Obukhiv district, a 51-year-old man was injured and hospitalized in a local medical facility, according to the Regional Military Administration. The aftermath of the enemy attack was recorded in six districts of the region.

In the Brovary district, 24 private homes, outbuildings, and 10 vehicles were damaged. The extent of the damage to the houses varied, but most had shattered windows and doors, and damaged roofs. A fire broke out in one of the private homes as a result of the strike.

In the Fastiv and Boryspil districts, two private houses in each area sustained damage. Building damage was also reported in the Obukhiv district. In the Vyshhorod district, a garage fire was extinguished. In the Bucha district, more than 20 vehicles were damaged.

In Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi district, repairs have been completed on the heating network that was damaged during the Russian attack on the capital on July 7. Hot water supply is being gradually restored to consumers, according to Kyivteploenerho.

Volunteers cleaned the PEN Ukraine warehouse, which stores books for the “Unbreakable Libraries” project. The warehouse was damaged during the Russian attack on the night of July 4 in Kyiv.

The Kyiv Regional Center for Civil Resistance Training invites civilians to a free basic 4-week, 45-hour course starting August 2, according to the Regional Military Administration. The program covers seven areas: tactical and firearms training, basic UAV operation, mine safety, land navigation, and living under martial law conditions.

Zhytomyr oblast

Inspectors are examining the impact sites in the Novohuivynska and Stanyshivska communities, where fires broke out in outbuildings following a massive enemy attack on July 9. A fire covering an area of 600 m² broke out in a carpentry workshop, and several multi-story residential buildings were also damaged. This was reported by the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Polissia District.

On July 9 in Zhytomyr, representatives of families of prisoners of war and missing servicemen from the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade met with members of the regional working group of the Coordination Headquarters on Prisoner of War Affairs. About fifty relatives of the soldiers attended the meeting.

Sumy oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that iIn North-Slobozhansk and Kursk front, 14 clashes took place over the past day. On 9 July, the russian army carried out seven air strikes – dropping 12 GABs. 281 artillery shells were recorded, including three from multiple launch rocket systems.

Oksana Tarasyuk, acting head of Shostka Regional Administrative Community, said that at around 7am. on 10 July, russian troops attacked Seredyna-Buda. 4 houses were damaged.

Sumy Region State Emergency Service informed that on 10 July, the russian army struck a residential area in Buryn city. According to preliminary information, one person was injured. A house was also damaged, and non-residential premises caught fire.

Oleh Hryhorov, Head of Sumy RMA, stated that as a result of enemy artillery fire, a resident of Yunakivka community was injured. The 63-year-old man was hospitalized with injuries. He is being provided with the necessary medical care.

Accourding to JSC “Sumyoblenergo”, in Sumy, Sumy and Okhtyrsky regions, there are power outages due to an attack by the russian army on the energy sector in the oblast.

During the day, from the morning of 9 July to the morning of 10 July, russian troops carried out 75 attacks on 36 settlements in 14 territorial communities of the oblast. The largest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (15 strikes), dropping VOG from UAVs (15 strikes), and the enemy also carried out strikes by FPV-drones, UAVs, and missile strikes on the territory of Sumy oblast.

Civil infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed: a private residential building was damaged in Nova Slobodka community; civil infrastructure facilities were damaged in Sumy community; private houses were damaged in Seredyna-Buda community, a car was destroyed in Esman community, a private house was damaged in Bilopillia community, and a non-residential building was damaged in Buryn community.

The RMA reported that in Nedryhailivka community, according to updated information, 3 civilians were injured as a result of a UAV strike at 00:13am on 9 July. A non-residential building, 21 households, and 7 private cars were damaged.

Within 24 hours, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations from border communities, evacuated 7 people.

The presentation of the book “Living Despite Everything. Women’s Stories about the War of 2014 and 2022” took place in Konotop. The publication contains 11 women’s stories starting from Donbas in 2014 and the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The presentation of the book brought together representatives of the literary community, educators, and volunteers. Marina Suprun, one of the authors of the book, was in russian captivity for a month.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv border detachment reported that during the day on 9 July, russian troops attacked three border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novgorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. The enemy fired mortars (6 explosions) and artillery (9 explosions), struck by FPV-drones (11 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (21 explosions).

In Semenivka community, on 9 July, a private house in Mykolaivka village was damaged due to the dropping of explosive devices from a UAV, a farm and two non-residential buildings in Yanzhulivka village were on fire.

The Operational Command “North” informed that during the day on 9 July, the russian army attacked Chernihiv oblast by  Heran-2 UAVs. Two explosions were recorded in Chernetske village, Pryluky region. Two private houses were damaged as a result of the attack.

According to the RMA, there are over 68 thousand internally displaced persons in Chernihiv oblast. Of these, 23 thousand moved after the start of the full-scale invasion from other regions. These are people from Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson and Zaporizhia oblasts. 6 modular towns and 3 dormitories have been set up for their temporary residence. In total, out of 1,500 places, more than 500 are currently occupied. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the RMA, reported that the occupiers continue to strike Nikopol region. The attacks were carried out by drones and artillery. The targets included the regional centre, Myrove, Pokrov and Marhanets communities. Damage was reported to a 5-story building, a utility structure, a garage, a canopy and 15 beehives. In Synelnykove region, 2 civilians were injured in Mezhova community: a 43-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman. 5 private houses were destroyed and approximately 20 damaged. A store, power line and gas pipeline were hit.

 

During the day, Nikopol and Synelnykove regions were attacked. Nikopol region suffered nearly 30 strikes, by drones and artillery. A 67-year-old man was killed and a 22-year-old woman injured. The attacks targeted the regional centre, Myrove, Pokrov and Marhanets communities. Several fires broke out. Damage was reported to 4 private houses, high-rise buildings, an enterprise, a lyceum, a non-residential building, a swimming pool, 2 utility structures, vehicles and infrastructure. In Synelnykove region, drones and KABs were used to attack Mezhova, Pokrov, Novopavlivka and Velykomykhailivka communities. The strikes caused fires and damaged infrastructure, an agricultural enterprise and a vehicle.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, stated that in Kirovohrad oblast, debris from a russian UAV caused a grass fire in an open area.

Poltava oblast

According to Poltava RMA, overnight, the enemy attacked Poltava oblast by UAVs. Most of the UAVs were destroyed by Ukrainian air defence forces. In Hlobyne community, windows of a residential house and a utility structure were damaged.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that air defence forces in Cherkasy oblast neutralised 8 russian UAVs. In Cherkasy oblast, fragments from downed drones damaged windows in 4 houses and the roof of a utility structure. Also, 1 russian UAV was shot down in Uman region during the day.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), russian forces continue conducting limited assault operations in Zaporizhzhia, with no confirmed territorial gains. Analysts reported that on 8–9 July, russian troops carried out attacks near Novodanylivka, Plavni and Malynivka in the oblast.

Based on the information provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 1 russian attack near Novodanylivka on Orikhiv region. No assault actions were recorded on Huliaipole region.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, stated that on 9 July, russian troops launched 420 strikes across 12 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. These included 228 UAV strikes, mostly FPV drones, targeting Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Preobrazhenka and Uspenivka.

The State Emergency Service reported that wheat fields, residential houses and utility structures caught fire due to russian shelling on 9 July. 6 fires caused by russian attacks were extinguished by emergency services.

Mykolaiv oblast

The Regional Military Administration reported that on the night of 10 July, russian forces used a strike drone to attack Snihurivka community, damaging a house in Snihurivka town. Ukrainian air defence shot down 2 Shahed drones over Mykolaiv oblast.

On 9 July, russian troops attacked the coastal area of Ochakiv community twice by FPV drones. On the morning of 10 July, Ochakiv town was shelled. There were no casualties reported.

A ballistic missile strike hit a farm enterprise in Horokhivka community, injuring 3 employees. Their condition is light and they received outpatient medical care.

Odesa oblast

According to the Ukrainian Navy, on the morning of 10 July, a russian reconnaissance UAV was detected near Odesa oblast. Ukrainian Air Forces engaged with countermeasures to shoot it down.

Kherson oblast

Referring to the RMA, russian forces shelled Bilozirka by artillery. A 73-year-old man was hospitalised with a blast injury and shrapnel wounds.

A 39-year-old man delivering bread to Chervonyi Maiak was attacked by a russian drone and sustained a concussion, blast injury and closed head trauma.

Kherson City Military Administration reported that at around 11am, a man in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson was struck by a russian UAV. He suffered a blast injury, shrapnel wounds to his legs and a traumatic amputation of his right lower leg.

In Kherson, 4 people were injured in a morning drone attack. A 69-year-old woman was hospitalised with a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to her legs.

At around 7am, 2 men aged 74 and 40 were injured by drones in Dniprovskyi district and hospitalised.

At 00:30am, a UAV attack on Dniprovskyi district injured a 63-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man, both of whom sustained blast injuries and multiple shrapnel wounds.

At 10:30pm on 9 July, russian artillery struck Dniprovskyi district, injuring 2 women and 2 men. One woman remains in serious condition. A 53-year-old man sustained a blast injury, concussion and bruises to limbs. Also, a 62-year-old woman is hospitalised.

According to the police, russian troops directed an FPV drone at a checkpoint, injuring 2 police officers. Both were hospitalised with blast injuries and concussions.

The Centre for National Resistance (CNS) reported that in temporarily occupied Kakhovka, resident Oleksandr Herchakovskyi was sentenced to 400 hours of forced labour by an occupation court for allegedly publishing pro-Ukrainian slogans on social media and “defiling” the St. George’s ribbon.

Volyn oblast

Kovel community has begun preparations for the implementation of a new local automated centralized notification system (MACS). The system includes sirens, loudspeakers, Internet resources, automated calling, and provides centralized activation of alert signals.

Zakarpattia oblast

Members of the IDP Councils of Zakarpattia oblast and other oblasts of Ukraine, representatives of regional and local authorities and the public, public organizations, regional and local experts, etc. gathered in Uzhhorod. Pustomyty City Council transferred the necessary equipment worth over UAH 932,000 to the A0998 Military Unit.

The RMA reported that the community of the village of Tarasivka, Pidberiztsivska community, donated UAH 30,000 for the needs of the Ukrainian army.

Rivne oblast

Practical training has started in Rivne oblast at the Center for Training Citizens for National Resistance. The 1st to undergo it are 50 employees of a company that builds and maintains mobile phone towers.

Ternopil oblast

The Svoboda Battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine received 50 FPV drones from Ternopil community.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Since the beginning of the year, Khmelnytskyi community has sent over 70 electronic warfare and electronic warfare devices of various modifications and purposes to the Defense Forces. At the session of the city council, over UAH 181m was added to all defense expenditures.

Chernivtsi oblast

The Air Defense Forces neutralized an enemy drone that violated the airspace of Chernivtsi oblast at night. There were no casualties or damage.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The US resumed arms supplies to Ukraine. In particular, the supply of 155-mm artillery shells and GMLRS high-precision missiles was resumed.

The President of Ukraine met with Keith Kellogg, US President’s Special Representative for Ukraine. They discussed the supply of weapons and strengthening air defense.

An exhibition dedicated to Ukrainian children opened in Rome. It was organized by ZAG Gallery with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture of Italy. The exhibition is dedicated to Ukrainian children – those who were killed, those who are currently under occupation, in emigration, in their homeland or on the road.
