It has been the 896 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

russian invaders continue their assaults on Ukrainian defenders’ positions.

On 7 August, there were 54 combat engagements on the front line. 

The current day is marked by increased enemy aviation activity near the border settlement of Sumy oblast, with approximately thirty guided bombs dropped. Targets included the vicinities around Bilovody, Kianytsia, Zhuravka, and several other villages and settlements.

Border settlements in northern Ukraine continue to suffer from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian federation. Among the affected vicinities are Bachivsk, Tovstodubove, Kucheryvka, Nova Huta, Romashkove, and Pokrovka.

Towards Kharkiv, russians launched two attacks on our defensive lines near Tykhe and in the Vovchansk vicinity. The battle is ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy conducted two unsuccessful assaults near Petropavlivka and towards Novosynove.

Towards Lyman, the invaders attacked eleven times. Currently, four of these attacks continue in the Nevske vicinity and the Serebrianskyi forest. The situation remains under control.

Towards Siversk, the enemy attempted to advance four times in the vicinities of Verkhnokamianske and Pereizne. Ukrainian soldiers repelled three assaults, with one battle still ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, the invaders, supported by army aviation, conducted one unsuccessful assault near Chasiv Yar. Another battle is still ongoing.

Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked seven times in the vicinities of Toretsk, Pivnichne and Niu-York. Two battles are still ongoing. The enemy bombed Toretsk six times and struck Niu-York and Kurdiumivka twice with NARs (non-guided aerial rockets).

Towards Pokrovsk, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have carried out assaults in the vicinities of Panteleimonivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Hrodivka, Zhelanne, Novozhelanne and Yasnobrodivka. Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the enemy, having repelled eight attacks, with nine battles still ongoing. Enemy losses are being clarified.

Towards Kurakhove, the enemy attacked four times near Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka, using non-guided aerial rockets. The battles continue.

Towards Vremivka, the invaders unsuccessfully attempted to break through Ukrainian defences twice, attacking from the side of Volodymyrivka.

Towards Orikhiv, the occupiers did not conduct active offensive actions but struck the vicinities of Lobkove, Piatykhatky and Novoandrivka with NARs, launching over fifty rockets.

Towards Kherson, one enemy attack was repelled.

President Zelenskyy has signed laws extending the martial law and general mobilisation in Ukraine for another 90 days, until November 9. This marks the 12th extension of martial law and general mobilisation in Ukraine.

Azov member Oleksandr Ishchenko died in a russian pre-trial detention centre from a blunt chest injury. The deputy commander of the Azov brigade, Sviatoslav Palamar, published the results of a forensic medical examination. The autopsy revealed that the soldier died on July 22 from a “closed blunt chest injury caused by contact with a blunt object.” He also had multiple rib fractures. The death of Oleksandr Ishchenko, who served as a driver in Azov, became known on July 31, as he was not brought to a court hearing from the detention centre.

For the first time in history, SBU warriors hit a russian Mi-28 helicopter using an FPV drone. The helicopter was struck over Kursk region in russia.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The General Staff reported that the Defence Forces repelled 119 russian attacks in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts yesterday..

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff reported as of 4pm that towards Kharkiv, one battle is ongoing, with a total of two russian attacks since the beginning of the day near Tykhe and Vovchansk.  Towards Kupiansk, two russian assaults were repelled by Ukrainian defence forces.

Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of Kharkiv police, said that yesterday russia used drones to attack Kozacha Lopan (a man was injured), Lozova (a car was damaged), Kupiansk (a drone and artillery shelling damaged a car, two residential buildings and outbuildings) and Kruhliakivka (outbuildings were damaged).

Yesterday at 9:59am, russians attacked Kharkiv. Non-residential premises, a polyclinic, houses, garages and 26 vehicles were damaged.

The State Emergency Service reported that as of the morning of 7 August, emergency rescue operations at the site of the russian Iskander attack in Kharkiv on 6 August are ongoing. There are 1 killed and 12 injured, including an 8-month-old boy and 10 women.

At 5:40pm, russia attacked Kozacha Lopan village of Derhachi community, Kharkiv region. A 62-year-old man was injured as a result of a drone strike.

At 5:20pm, russia attacked a 3-storey residential building in Ivashky village of Zolochiv community, Bohodukhiv region. As a result of the shelling, an apartment was on fire.

At 3:52pm, russia attacked Kupiansk. Private residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged. A fire also broke out on the territory of two private households. There were no casualties.

According to the police, in Ivashky, a russian strike damaged an apartment building, according to police, and a dry grass fire broke out in Shyikivka.

In total, rescuers extinguished three fires caused by russian strikes over the course of the day. The State Emergency Service reported that a residential building, an outbuilding, a summer kitchen and dry grass in an open area were on fire.

Vitalii Sarantsev, Spokesman of the Kharkiv operational-tactical group of troops, reported that on 6 August, the russian military fired 517 times at the positions of the Defence Forces towards Kharkiv. The Kharkiv OTG did not record the withdrawal of russian troops or a decrease in the number of attacks after the russian Ministry of Defence announced a breakthrough by the Armed Forces towards Sudzha (Kursk region). 

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy attacked the defensive lines of our soldiers eight times near Lyptsi, Tykhe and Vovchansk. Five attacks were stopped, three are still ongoing. 

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy conducted two offensives near Synkivka and Kolesnykivka, where one battle is currently underway.

As of today, 26 mechanical demining machines are operating in Kharkiv oblast, and a new machine for soil preparation is being actively used. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, about 25,000 hectares of land have been cleared of mines. At the same time, more than 40% of the area is still considered dangerous. During the demining operations, 1,314km of roads, 212km of railway tracks, 3,949km of power lines and other critical facilities were surveyed. More than 200,000 explosive items were found and destroyed.

Donetsk oblast

Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Military Administration, stated that a 65-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man were killed in the morning shelling of Antonivka. Another man was wounded in the village and is receiving the necessary medical care in the nearest hospital.

Two people were also killed in Mykhailivka of Novohrodivka community: a 55-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman.

Towards Toretsk, there were 18 combat engagements near Pivnichne, Toretsk and Niu-York yesterday.

Towards Pokrovsk, Ukrainian troops repelled 42 attacks near settlements: Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Zhelanne, Kalynove, Oleksandrivka, Vesele, Ivanivka, Kalynivka, Skuchne, Yasnobrodivka, Karlivka, Panteleimonivka, Novozhelanne and Mezhove. The highest concentration of attacks was near Ivanivka and Zhelanne.

Yesterday the police documented 2,868 attacks on the frontline and residential areas.

The enemy attacked Hirnyk, Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, Myrnohrad, Toretsk, Ukrainsk, Ivanopillia, Kleban-Byk, Markove, Novyi Komar, Predtechyne and Uspenivka.

41 civilian objects were damaged, including 33 residential buildings, infrastructure facilities, gas pipelines, power lines and a car.

Russians dropped a FAB-500 bomb with an UMPK module on an infrastructure facility in Myrnohrad, injuring 8 people.

The occupiers fired at Toretsk with artillery. The shelling injured 2 civilians and damaged an apartment building.

A person was wounded in Ukrainsk because of shelling. Another person was injured in Markove village.

Also russia struck Kleban-Byk village with a KAB-250 guided missile with a UMPK module. 20 private houses, the power grid and gas pipeline were destroyed.

Serhii Chaus, Head of the City Military Administration, reported that Chasiv Yar has 524 residents, ten people less than two weeks ago.

Evacuation of children from 28 settlements in Donetsk oblast continues 20 evacuation teams of police and the State Emergency Service are involved in the evacuation of children from Lyman, Illinivka, Myrnohrad, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Selydove and Kurakhove communities. Among them: White Angels crew, police paramedics together with SES employees, Feniks evacuation teams, patrol officers and representatives of military administrations. Children are evacuated exclusively in armoured vehicles with special protection – helmets and bulletproof vests.  Children are evacuated only with the consent of their parents or other legal representatives and accompanied by at least one parent. During the past day, 372 families with 481 children left the danger zone. In total, 2,462 families with 3,903 children are to be evacuated.

The Ministry of Reintegration reported that a 24-year-old girl with a disability, who was sent to russia by the occupiers from the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk oblast after her grandmother’s death, has been returned to Ukraine.

Deputy Commander Sviatoslav Palamar with call sign Kalyna, posted on Facebook that Ukrainian Azov serviceman Oleksandr Ishchenko was killed in russian captivity due to blunt chest trauma.  

He posted a photo of documents stating that Ishchenko died on 22 July as a result of shock, multiple rib fractures and a closed blunt chest injury due to contact with a blunt object. This is yet another cynical violation by the russians of the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Luhansk oblast

The occupiers are putting pressure towards Lyman and Siversk, where they launched 33 attacks yesterday. According to the Regional Military Administration, their targets, Bilohorivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Serebrianka forest, are currently out of reach. The enemy attacks were repelled. The invaders continue to attack the liberated villages. The enemy is most actively using drones and 72 near Makiivka and Nevske, cannon and rocket artillery – 36 attacks in total.

In two years, the invaders from the russian Federation have twice made people who remained in the occupation homeless. First, in 2022, the russians forcibly took two categories of people deep into Luhansk oblast. These included those who were left homeless after the occupiers’ assault and those whose homes the occupiers decided to appropriate. In temporary accommodation centres in rural areas, including Starobilsk, they were given one room for several people and allowed to stay there until the end of August and then, without assistance from russia.

In the so-called “lpr”, there is a tendency for salaries to be delayed for many months at state or municipal enterprises. The money started to disappear when the inter-budgetary relations between russia and the occupied territories became more or less established. Another case is the transport department in Sorokyne region, where the debt to employees amounted to seven months.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that on the night of 7 August, the enemy attacked the oblast territory with a UAV. The houses of local residents were destroyed or damaged. The police are inspecting 22 damaged houses and recording the consequences of the enemy attack. A 78-year-old woman with an injured leg sought medical assistance.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, announced that operational services continue to work on eliminating the consequences of the russian attack on 6 August. In one of the districts, two petrol stations, 4 multi-storey residential buildings, a multi-storey building with office premises, one private house, buildings of 4 enterprises, a utility company, a shopping centre and a cafe were damaged. In another area, the debris of an enemy target was found in a private house, with no casualties or damage.

The mobile rescue centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that a warhead of an X-101 air-to-ground cruise missile was recovered by sappers in the village of Stari Petrivtsi, Vyshhorod region, on 7 August. The sappers neutralised the missile  warhead at a special blasting site.

Detector Media informed that theatre and film actor Andrii Valenskyi was seriously injured at the front. He has a head injury, contusions, multiple fractures and burns. He is currently undergoing treatment in Kyiv.

According to the RMA report, young people from all over Ukraine are creating youth spaces in Kyiv oblast as part of the VidNOVA:UA programme. This year, Pereiaslav community has already opened a street space for young people, and the youth centre in Hostomel community is being restored. The programme of engaging young people in the restoration of Ukraine is designed to give youth the opportunity to contribute to the rebuilding of Ukraine.

In Uzyn, construction of a shelter for the Uspich lyceum is underway. The work is financed by the Fund for Elimination of the Consequences of russia’s Armed Aggression. According to the project, the facility will have a dual purpose: it can be used as a shelter during air raids and will serve at other times for additional classes, extracurricular activities, etc.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko announced that another 1,200 UAVs of various types and 60 vehicle electronic warfare systems, some of which have already been sent to the frontline, were handed over from Kyiv community to the soldiers of the 112th separate Kyiv territorial defence brigade.

The Department of Agricultural Development of Kyiv Regional State Administration informed that despite the war, 911 agricultural producers in Kyiv oblast received loans for farm development. The total amount of loans is almost UAH 16.6bn.

The city council reported that Fastiv State Museum of Local Lore opened an exhibition of art tubes as part of the Art for Victory project. The authors of these works of art are volunteers, artists, mothers and wives of fallen soldiers, as well as teachers and students of Fastiv School of Folk Crafts. Later, the artworks will be put up for a charity auction. All the money raised will be used to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

Zhytomyr oblast

The RMA reported that on 7 August, the restored bridge between the villages of Makalevychi, Zhytomyr oblast, and Myhalky, Kyiv oblast, was opened. On 19 March 2022, the enemy fired four shells at the transport infrastructure between the settlements. The RMA reminded that in total, 10 bridges in Zhytomyr oblast were damaged during the full-scale invasion of russia, including 5 of local importance and 5 of national importance.

As of today, 1224 shelters of various types have been set up in educational institutions in Zhytomyr oblast, which is 94% of the total number of institutions. Since the beginning of 2022, the number of protective structures in all educational institutions has increased from 27% to 94%, i.e. 3.5 times. Almost UAH 500m was allocated to create safe conditions in educational institutions, which was spent on repair, reconstruction and arrangement of shelters.

Zhytomyr City Council announced that in the first half of 2024, UAH 206m was allocated from Zhytomyr budget for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Another UAH 35m was allocated for the construction of defence structures.

The regional administration also informed that educational institutions in Zhytomyr oblast received almost 11,000 laptops for teachers from philanthropists. In particular, 8134 laptops were handed over: 583 from the United Nations (UNICEF), 2918 chromebooks from Google and 4633 laptops from Olena Zelenska Foundation. Thanks to these measures, oblast teachers are provided with computer equipment by 97%, and subject teachers – by 100%.

Sumy oblast

On the night of 7 August, Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed an enemy ballistic missile in the sky over Sumy oblast.

During the night and in the morning, russians fired 29 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. A total of 91 explosions were recorded, including attacks from mortars, stacked and rocket artillery, FPV drones, air strikes by the CAB, and the dropping of explosive ordnance from UAVs. Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Nova Sloboda, Esman, Shalyhyne, Druzhbivka, Seredyna-Buda communities were shelled.

On 6 August, more than 20 explosions of varying intensity were heard in Sumy. During this time, the Air Force reported the launch of guided aerial bombs in Sumy oblast and in the direction of Sumy, as well as the activity of russian tactical aviation. Units of the defence and security forces of Sumy oblast destroyed an enemy ballistic missile, 2 UAVs and one helicopter.

On 6 August, the russian military fired 45 times at Sumy oblast. A total of 132 explosions were recorded. According to the RMA, 11 border communities were shelled.

Krasnopillia community: the enemy fired from artillery (5 explosions), mortars (22 explosions), and FPV drones (5 explosions).

Myropilla community: mortar shelling (6 explosions), an air strike by a UAV (1 explosion).

Bilopillia community: 3 mines were dropped by russians on the territory of the community, an attack by an FPV drone (1 explosion) and 4 attacks from cannon artillery.

Yunakivka community: artillery shelling (8 explosions), mortar shelling (1 explosion), and air strikes by the Ukrainian military (11 explosions) were recorded.

Esman community: the enemy attacked with a mortar (20 explosions) and attacked with an FPV drone (1 explosion).

Khotin community: russians carried out air strikes on the KAB (4 explosions).

Velyka Pysarivka community was attacked by FPV drones (3 explosions), mortar shelling (5 explosions), and grenade launchers (3 explosions).

The enemy fired mortars at Znob-Novhorodske community (7 explosions), Hlukhiv community (5 explosions), Shalyhyne community (4 explosions), Khotin community (10 explosions) and Mykolayivka community (10 explosions).

The regional police reported that on 6 August, 6 private residential buildings, an outbuilding, a preschool and two cars were damaged as a result of shelling in Sumy oblast.

The Ministry of Energy informed that due to shelling by the russian federation, 3,100 consumers in 21 settlements in Sumy oblast were left without electricity. In total, 86 settlements, or 7,300 consumers, remain without electricity as a result of the hostilities.

Sumy Regional Blood Service Centre reported an urgent need for all blood types.

Head of the community Mykola Torianyk announced that the community is evacuating children from the 10km border zone of Khotin, more than 90 of them. The community has been under shelling since 6 August, with private houses, a cultural centre and a hospital damaged by guided aerial bombs.

Mandatory evacuations will take place in 23 settlements of five communities in Sumy oblast. According to Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the regional military administration, about 6,000 people, including 425 children, will be evacuated. 

Chernihiv oblast

Over the past day, russian troops attacked two border communities in Chernihiv oblast. According to the State Border Guard Service, a total of 44 explosions were recorded. Novhorod-Siverskyi community: (25 mortar and UAV attacks) in the direction of Hremiach, Buchky and Mykhalchyna Sloboda. Semenivka community: 19 attacks by FPV drones, mortars and cannon artillery on the outskirts of Semenivka, Tymonovychi and Leonivka.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that a recruitment centre for the Ukrainian army was opened in Chernihiv at the Centre for Administrative Services. The Centre provides information and advisory services on service in the State Border Guard Service and, if desired, recruitment to a military unit and position.

Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, said that 200 individual modular houses were built by international partners in Chernihiv oblast. This is the largest number of such structures built with donor funds among all regions of Ukraine.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The enemy did not stop firing at Nikopol from evening until morning. The occupiers attacked the area fifteen times, mostly with artillery and Grad rockets, and launched kamikaze drones at Nikopol. They also shelled Myrove, Pokrovsk, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities. Several fires broke out, an agricultural company, several private houses, outbuildings, a gas pipeline and a power line were damaged. There were no casualties.   

The enemy continues to terrorise the residents of Nikopol region. Two men aged 66 and 37 were injured in the enemy’s attacks. They will be treated at home. In total, there were almost a dozen attacks in the region. The regional centre, Myrove and Pokrovsk communities were hit. Fires broke out, a multi-storey building, a utility company, infrastructure, 2 private houses, 3 outbuildings were damaged, another was destroyed, a gazebo, a garage, a car and power lines were hit.

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the RMA, reported that despite the enemy’s terror and mortal risk, doctors of Nikopol Emergency Medical Aid Station save lives on the front line. Over two years of constant shelling by the Russian Federation, they have saved more than 400 residents, including a tenth of children. During their visits, the brigades repeatedly came under attack by the occupiers. In June, a drone was dropped on one of the teams, but the medics continue to work, providing the necessary assistance to the residents of Nikopol and the region, Marhanets, Novopokrovsk and Tomakivka communities. 

Vinnytsia oblast

​​The RMA reported that at night, air defence forces shot down two drones in Vinnytsia oblast. There were no casualties or damage.

Seven defenders from Vinnytsia oblast were killed. They are Oleh Kholodil, Viktor Bodnar, Serhii Maksymchuk, Artur Pastukh, Serhii Khmilyar, Oleh Kyrychenko and Vitalii Bondar.

Vinnytsia handed over two more buggies for the MID unit. The vehicles were prepared at the request of the special forces unit – the soldiers needed vehicles to transport ammunition to the battlefield and to transport the wounded.

Kirovohrad oblast

Inna Zholoboda, Director of Kirovohrad Regional Social Center for Mother and Child, reported that the centre became a temporary shelter for IDPs fleeing the war from the first days of the full-scale invasion. Since then, it has been hosting women from the region and IDPs. The centre has sheltered 386 people since February 2022. 

In Kropyvnytskyi, people will be taught to fly FPV drones for free. The classes are organised by the Ukrainian Volunteer Army. The course is open to both civilians and military personnel. The training will last 10 days, with five people in each group. Classes will last four hours a day.

Poltava oblast

Poltava oblast lost two defenders of Ukraine – Oleksandr Sheredekin and Ruslan Nadzhafov.

Oleksandr Sheredekin was killed as a result of mortar fire. He was 24 years old.

During performing a combat mission Ruslan Nadzhafov felt sick and was taken to a hospital in the city of Sumy, he died there on 30 July, 2024. He was 35 years old.

Cherkasy oblast

The air raid lasted for more than eight hours in a row. It was loud in some places. At this time, in the sky over Cherkasy oblast, the defenders destroyed two enemy’s UAVs. There were no consequences.

Cherkasy 118th Territorial Defense Brigade received a new commander. He is Lieutenant Colonel Yaroslav Popko. Previously, Yaroslav Popko commanded the 157th separate battalion of the TDF, and after the previous brigade commander left the post, he temporarily acted as commander.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday the occupiers carried out 564 strikes on 9 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted 3 airstrikes on Huliaipole and Dolynka. 336 UAVs attacked Lysohirka, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne, Poltavka and Malynivka. Thirteen MLRS attacks targeted Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne. 212 artillery strikes hit the territories of Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Levadne. Fourteen reports were received about the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure. Two men were killed, and another was injured as a result of a russian attack on Polohy region.

Special Operations Forces fighters repelled a russian attack towards Zaporizhzhia. Soldiers of the 3rd regiment repelled one of the russian army’s attacks using FPV drones. During the battle, Ukrainian fighters captured two russian military personnel.

Defenders on Zaporizhzhia front received 10 ATVs for evacuating fighters and transporting cargo. The vehicles allow quick movement over any terrain, have two passenger seats, and a large cargo compartment.

About a thousand russian soldiers are present at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). Additionally, according to Dmytro Orlov, the mayor of Enerhodar, several thousand employees hired by a company affiliated with the “Rosatom” concern are working there.

On 6-9 August, a Drone Force recruitment group will operate in Zaporizhzhia, where anyone can try their hand as a UAV operator and learn more about drones. If a person intends to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the project will help the recruit join the chosen unit. The Drone Force recruitment centre supplies specialists in unmanned systems to all units of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

A modern “underground school” is being built in Pivdennyi microdistrict of Zaporizhzhia. According to the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the “underground school” will operate in two shifts, allowing almost 1,000 children studying at Zaporizhzhia Gymnasium №107 to attend classes. Ten percent of the work has already been completed. The regional authorities plan to start the educational process offline in the newly built school by the end of November.

Mykolaiv oblast

On the night of 7 August, air defence forces destroyed fourteen Shahed 131/136 UAVs over Mykolaiv oblast. As a result of the combat operations and falling debris, two grass fires broke out in open areas in Mykolaiv and Bashtanka regions. The fires were promptly extinguished.

On the evening of 6 August, at 8:40pm, the enemy attacked the waters of Kutsurub community with an FPV drone. There were no casualties.

On the morning of 7 August, at 7:15am, the enemy attacked the city of Ochakiv with an FPV drone. The attack caused a grass fire.

A resident of Pervomaisk community died from injuries sustained from the detonation of an explosive device. According to the police, on August 5, the man brought home two warheads from an anti-tank grenade and a propulsion engine and attempted to dismantle them. The ammunition detonated in his hands. The victim died from his injuries in an ambulance.

A delegation from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, led by the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Denise Brown, visited Mykolaiv. During the visit, they met with Vitalii Kim, the head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, to introduce the newly appointed UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Matias Schmale, who will continue supporting humanitarian initiatives in the region. The meeting also discussed the current humanitarian situation in the region, the provision of humanitarian aid to those affected by the war, support for local communities in overcoming economic and social challenges, and coordination of efforts with other international organisations to provide more effective assistance to the population.

Odesa oblast

There is one enemy ship in the Black Sea equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to four missiles. There are no enemy ships in the Azov Sea.

Kherson oblast

Three people were injured in Antonivka due to the enemy drone attack. The occupiers dropped an explosive device from the drone on residents who were outside. A 46-year-old woman suffered an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to her abdomen. A 56-year-old man was diagnosed with an explosive injury, and injuries to his thigh and hand. A 46-year-old man sustained a concussion, an explosive injury, and shrapnel wounds to his abdomen and leg.

Last night, russian forces struck Kherson. A 74-year-old woman was injured as a result of the impact of an enemy shell on a high-rise building. She suffered an explosive injury, a concussion, and a temporal contusion.

Yesterday, the enemy attacked settlements on the right bank of Kherson oblast: Zymivnyk, Bilozerka, Antonivka, Stanislav, Beryslav, Zolota Balka, Dudchany, Tomaryne and the city of Kherson. As a result of the attacks, an educational institution and administrative buildings, three multi-story buildings, five private houses, a gas pipeline, and private and service vehicles were damaged. Today, three residents of Kherson oblast who were injured by enemy shelling before sought medical assistance. A 50-year-old resident of Bilozerka was diagnosed with a concussion, explosive, and closed head injuries. A 69-year-old woman was hospitalised with an explosive injury sustained during the shelling of Ivanivka. A resident of Antonivka was preliminarily diagnosed with an explosive injury. An enemy shell landed a few metres from the victim’s home, damaging the house and a gas pipe.

Over the past day, the occupiers launched two assaults on the left bank of the Dnipro. After suffering losses, the enemy retreated to their initial positions.

On 6 August, 2024, special forces of the Artan active operations unit and the Marine Center of the Chief Intelligence Directorate carried out an operation in the northern part of the Black Sea. A special forces landing group landed on Tendrivska Spit and destroyed enemy armoured vehicles, including an MT-LB, an enemy electronic warfare complex, and fortifications. After completing their mission, the military intelligence officers retreated without losses.

The Defense Forces of the South eliminated 84 occupiers and 44 units of weapons and military equipment during the day. They also destroyed three field ammunition storages, three observation buildups, and ten dugouts.

Employees of Kherson Art Museum identified another painting stolen by russian troops. This is the work “With a Doll” by Nadiia Andrieieva from the series “My Daughter.” The painting “With a Doll” appeared in footage taken by the occupiers in August 2023 at the Central Museum of Taurida in Crimea. In total, 122 works of art stolen by the russian military during their retreat from Kherson have been identified.

Volunteers evacuated two more residents from Beryslav community. The team of the Casers public organisation evacuated a 78-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman from the village of Shliakhove.

Yesterday, energy workers performed emergency recovery work on lines supplying Rozivka, Svobodne, Krasnivka, Borozenske, Liubymivka, Novovoskresenske, Chaikyne, Kherson, Pryozerne, and Myroliubivka. 28 teams consisting of 153 workers and 46 pieces of equipment were working to restore power in Kherson oblast. Sixty-five workers from Kherson Regional Utility Emergency Rescue Service and the State Emergency Service carried out urgent repair work at 19 addresses.

Volyn oblast

Lutsk community sent a DJI Mavic 3 quadcopter to the Military Unit A 2802. The Military Unit A 7375 received a portable radio-electronic means of combating unmanned aerial vehicles Quertus.

Lutsk City Council reported that the Military Unit A 7028 received 20 FPV drones with day and night cameras.

A veteran space is being created on the basis of Lutsk National Technical University. Plans for such spaces include not only the provision of services for veterans, but also educational, educational, and cultural initiatives that should facilitate the comfortable integration of defenders who will return to civilian life.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA signed a memorandum of cooperation with a branch of the Ukreximbank JSC. Cooperation involves supporting the development of small and medium-sized businesses. This cooperation will make it possible to remove the financial burden on veterans from paying interest on a loan at the stage of starting their own business.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that the community sent a repaired car to the 79th Separate Amphibious Assault Brigade.

Lviv oblast

The RMA reported that since the beginning of the year, within the framework of the Safe Lviv Oblast comprehensive program, the oblast has provided financial assistance to the Defense Forces in the amount of UAH 500.3m.

In Lviv, Specialists of the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center helped 46-year-old Oleksandr Prohonyuk stabilise the work of the cardiovascular system and regain his strength. They helped a defender to recover, who was hit in the heart by a fragment of an enemy projectile. The defender’s condition after the injury was as if after a severe heart attack.

Rivne oblast

The 10th evacuation train with 114 people, 21 of them children, 10 people with disabilities from Donetsk oblast arrived in Rivne oblast. The people received 1st aid. They were placed in communities of Rivne and Sarne regions. In the previous 9 trains, 320 people came to the oblast.

With the assistance of the USAID HOVERLA project, a 2-day training on the use of the Analytical Portal of Rivne oblast was launched. Digitization of statistical data will be taught to representatives of communities and Rivne oblast.

The RMA reported that 98 international agreements are valid in Rivne oblast. Half of them were concluded during a full-scale invasion.

Ternopil oblast

20 military children of Ternopil community went to the city of Taurage (the Republic of Lithuania) for summer vacation. Ternopil City Council fully provided transportation for this trip.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

At night, during an air alert, the Air Defense Forces neutralised 4 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type within the oblast. There are no victims or injured. At the same time, due to falling debris, storage tanks and the premises of a workshop of one of the production enterprises of the oblast were damaged. All relevant services are on site.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA expands the range of cross-border cooperation. 2 projects from the oblast were selected for implementation within the INTERREG NEXT program Hungary ‒ Slovakia ‒ Romania ‒ Ukraine 2021‒2027. One of the projects aims to increase the sustainability of health care systems, the 2nd aims to expand access to new technologies in order to improve the higher education system.

The EU Council agreed to provide Ukraine with EUR 4.2bn under the Ukraine Facility. The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine noted that the funds of macro-financial support will reach the state budget in the near future.

The US appointed a new special representative for the economic recovery of Ukraine. He became Richard Varma, Deputy Secretary of State. His predecessor, Penny Pritzker, is stepping down as her term ends.

The American authorities have warned Turkey about the consequences for the export of military equipment to the russian federation. The US demands to stop supplying microcircuits and other parts used in russian military equipment. Matthew Axelrod, US Assistant Secretary of Commerce, recently visited Ankara and Istanbul with a mission to stop illegal trade aimed at supplying russia with technology of American origin.

Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, met with the newly appointed Ravi Shankar, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Ukraine. They discussed implementation of the Peace Formula and preparations for the 2nd Summit.
