Russian invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders. In turn, the Ukrainian Defence Forces are disrupting the enemy’s insidious plans, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment.
In total, there were 108 combat engagements.
Borderline settlements continue to suffer from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian Federation, in particular Karpovychi in Chernihiv oblast and Bila Bereza in Sumy oblast.
Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks in the area of Vovchansk towards Kharkiv. The invaders attacked the areas of Orishanka and Udove with KABs and Hraniv with NARs in Kharkiv oblast.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy carried out three assault operations near Synkivka, Petropavlivka and Zahryzove. Two of the engagements ended and one is ongoing.
Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked seven times near Nadiia, Pershotravneve and Makiivka. The fighting continues.
Towards Siversk, enemy aircraft attacked Siversk using seven anti-aircraft missiles. The enemy attacked our defenders once near Bilohorivka.
Towards Kramatorsk, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attempts by the occupiers to advance in the areas of Chasovyi Yar, Bila Hora and Stupochky. The invaders launched 24 multiple rocket launchers at Stupochki.
Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked twice near Shcherbynivka. Katerynivka, Toretsk and Oleksandro-Kalynove came under attack with air strikes.
Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers have made 16 attempts to push our defenders from their positions near Tarasivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zelene, Novyi Trud and Pokrovsk. The defence forces are holding back the enemy’s offensive and repelled 12 attacks, four firefights are still ongoing. Oleksandropil came under an air strike.
Towards Kurakhove, the enemy attacked seven times near Slovianka, Petropavlivka, Kurakhove and Dachne. Six of the battles were completed, another one is still ongoing. Andriivka came under attack from anti-aircraft guns.
Towards Vremivka, the invaders attacked Ukrainian troops’ positions four times near Kostiantynopil and Kostiantynopilske. One battle is still ongoing. The enemy launched an air strike with NARs near Novopil.
Towards Orikhiv, the enemy attacked our defenders once in the direction of Novodanilivka. The enemy launched an airstrike with unguided missiles at Stepnohirsk.
The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions towards Huliaipole and Kherson.
Towards Kursk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 attacks by the invaders, and 45 more combat engagements are ongoing.
In other areas of the frontline, the situation has not changed significantly.
Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets reported that three more prisoners were allegedly killed by russians. It happened near Neskuchne, Donetsk oblast. According to DeepState, the russians tied the soldiers’ hands and shot them in the back of the head. The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner once again appeals to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN because of the atrocities of the russian Federation.
The Ministry of Defence said that more than 142,000 sq km of Ukraine’s territory are contaminated with explosive ordnance. This includes 128,000 sq km of land and 14 thousand square kilometres of water.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated that the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a new programme to support the domestic defence industry. Critically important defence enterprises will be able to receive a loan of up to UAH 500m, for up to 5 years, at 5% per annum.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
The RMA reported that the Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks near Vovchansk towards Kharkiv. The russians launched airstrikes with KABs near Orishanka and Udy, and with NARs near Hraniv.
Towards Kupiansk, the invaders carried out three assault operations near Synkivka, Petropavlivka and Zahryzove.
Two firefights ended, another one is ongoing as of 4pm.
In the morning, the russian military, using Tornado multiple rocket launchers, shelled Orishanka village, Orishanka forest of Zolochiv community and the outskirts of Zolochiv. According to police, the russians fired about 10 times between 9:15 and 9:40am. Five private houses, outbuildings, power lines and gas networks were damaged. There were no reports of casualties.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, reported that at night russian troops attacked civilian crossings across the Oskil river and they are being restored. According to him, the situation towards Kupiansk is more threatening than in the north of Kharkiv oblast.
Yesterday the occupiers used 4 Shahed UAVs, 4 guided aerial bombs and 2 Molniia-1 UAVs against civilians in Kharkiv region.
At 9:50am, the russian military attacked Vidrodzhenivske village, Bohodukhiv region, using FPV drones. A private house was damaged.
At 11am, russians shelled the village of Kivsharivka, Kupiansk region with artillery. The shelling damaged an ambulance.
At 12:20pm, the russian military attacked Oleksandrivka village, Bohodukhiv region, using 4 FPV drones. A private house was damaged.
At 3:15pm, Kyivskyi district, as a result of a strike by a Molniia-1 UAV, the windows of three private houses and a car were damaged.
At 4:42pm, in Kholodnohirskyi district, a Molniya-1 UAV fell on the roof of an administrative building of a company without exploding. The roof of the building was damaged, no one was injured.
At 11:40pm, russians attacked Turove village, Bohodukhiv region, using 2 guided aerial bombs. One private house was destroyed, eight other houses and outbuildings were damaged.
Towards Kharkiv, Ukrainian troops repelled two enemy attacks near Vovchansk.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attempted to advance four times during the day near Nova Kruhliakivka, Lozova and Synkivka. All enemy attacks have been repelled.
In total, since the beginning of this year, the enemy has already launched 34 attacks with guided aerial bombs and used 24 Shahed UAVs against the settlements of Kharkiv oblast. Most of the attacks were on the civilian infrastructure of Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk and Izium regions. Under these conditions, civilian migration in the region and beyond continues unabated.
About 30,000 evacuated residents of the frontline areas have already visited the Kupiansk, Kuril, Vovchansk and Lyptsi hubs. They received medical, financial and legal support, as well as food and hygiene kits.
Donetsk oblast
The regional prosecutor’s office said that the prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the shooting of two captured Ukrainian servicemen near Vremivka in Volnovakha region. Earlier this year, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said that on 3 January, russian troops allegedly shot three Ukrainian prisoners of war near Neskuchne, Volnovakha region.
Viktor Trehubov, Spokesman of the Khortytsia military unit, said that urban fighting continues in Kurakhove, with the town in a dilapidated state. As of the morning of 6 January, there was fighting within its borders.
Two children were injured by a cluster munition in Dobropillia. According to police, the explosion occurred around 1pm on the outskirts of the town. The 11-year-old boys found an unknown object in the street that exploded. The children were transported to a hospital in Dnipro with multiple injuries.
Serhii Horbunov, Head of the CMA, reported that russian troops shelled Viroliubivka region on 6 January in the afternoon. As a result, 12 facades of private houses were damaged. No one was injured or killed during the shelling.
Yesterday police recorded 3,279 enemy attacks on the frontline and residential areas. Russian troops attacked 10 settlements: Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, Toretsk, Droysheve, Zarichne, Hryshyne, Dovha Balka, Nadiivka and Shandryholove. 66 civilian objects were destroyed, including 45 residential buildings.

Russians shelled Pokrovsk three times with artillery, injuring three civilians and damaging four apartment buildings, a utility company, a shop and an administrative building.
In Nadiivka, two civilians were injured and two private houses were damaged.
Two people were injured as a result of russian shelling of Zarichne.
Kostiantynivka withstood 8 enemy attacks: the occupiers dropped 4 FAB-250 bombs on the town, attacked with drones and artillery. Five apartment blocks and 29 private houses, a bank, a pharmacy, a boiler house, a workshop, a production facility, a pizzeria, a shop, a church, a garage, a civilian car, gas pipelines and power lines were damaged.
In Shandryholove and in Droysheve, two private houses were damaged by Smerch MLRS.

The enemy struck Dovha Balka with a drone, destroying a private house and an outbuilding.

Towards Pokrovsk, the Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped 51 assaults and attacks in the areas of Yelyzavetivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novyi Trud, Pishchane, Solone, Novovasylivka, Novoielyzavetivka and Yasenove.
7,300 residents remain in Pokrovsk. The pace of evacuation has slowed down in the community. Several pharmacies and shops are now open in the town.
Luhansk oblast
Artem Lysohor, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday the enemy attacked with the support of attack aircraft. They tried to advance near Tverdokhlibove, Nadiia, in Bilohorivka. They fired 15 times from various types of artillery. The invaders sent 132 unmanned aerial vehicles at the fortifications of Ukrainian defenders in Luhansk oblast.
The russian occupiers set up a military training ground near an old mine in one of the industrial districts of Lysychansk.
Residents of the so-called “lpr” are outraged by another tightening of the access regime on the border with russia. It was promised to be cancelled in autumn 2022. However, since then, things have only gotten worse – thorough document checks, searches of belongings, interrogations about relatives and the purpose of the trip. Another such incident occurred at the border in Markivka region. The occupied Luhansk oblast remains an “exclusion zone” for russians.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
The Regional Military Administration reported that at night russian troops once again attacked Kyiv oblast with UAVs. There were no civilian casualties, hits to critical or residential infrastructure. The shelling damaged two private houses, a vehicle and a power line.
Ukrzaliznytsia informed that as a result of hostile shelling at night, the railway’s contact network in Kyiv oblast was damaged. In an hour, railway workers have already completed its restoration. Train traffic on the railway is open.
Kyiv Regional Police reported that a bomb squad of Kyiv Police destroyed a warhead of a russian drone that did not detonate and posed a threat to the population. The explosive device was found in one of the oblast’s settlements after another russian attack.
In the capital, a rally in support of the captured marines was held on Maidan Nezalezhnosti. Relatives and friends gathered to remind the public and the world that they are waiting for the exchange of those who were not afraid to stand up for the free future of Ukraine. The event was called “1000 Days of Captivity” because that is how long the marines who defended and survived at the Ilyich plant in Mariupol have been in captivity. The event was attended by a representative of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
On 6 January, a married couple of scientists – neurophysiologist Ihor Zyma and his wife, biologist Olesia Sokur – were buried. They were killed on 1 January with russian drone striking their house in Pecherskyi district of Kyiv. Their friends and colleagues from the Institute of Biology and Medicine of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where the couple had worked for many years, came to pay tribute to the dead scientists.
The RMA reported that in 2024, in Kyiv oblast, ASCs provided more than one million services to citizens. As of the end of the year, there were 69 ASCs operating. The provision of services to veterans on the basis of the “Single Window” principle was one of the important achievements of the year. This approach is currently in place in 30 communities in Kyiv oblast and allows all necessary administrative services to be provided in one place, reducing the number of visits and simplifying the service process.
Zhytomyr oblast
The city council reported that in 2025, UAH 109.6m was allocated in Zhytomyr community’s city budget for the needs of the Defence Forces. Last year, almost UAH 91m was allocated from Zhytomyr budget to support the Defence Forces of Ukraine. In addition, property worth UAH 289.2m was purchased for the needs of the Ukrainian army. In 2024, the community sent thousands of unmanned aerial vehicles of various types to the frontline, as well as electronic warfare systems, communications equipment and other necessary equipment.
In January 2025, Zhytomyr received 4 more cogeneration units with components that independently produce electricity and heat. The installation of the units at Zhytomyrteplocomunenerho’s facilities is scheduled to be completed by the end of this heating season.
Sumy oblast
According to the Regional Military Administration, air defense units shot down 12 enemy Shahed drones over the skies of Sumy oblast. Since the beginning of 2025, the region’s air defense forces have already destroyed 56 russian drones.
The Regional Military Administration reported that during the night, the enemy launched a rocket artillery strike (MLRS) on the territory of Znob-Novhorodske community. Four explosions were recorded.
On the evening of 5 January, russian forces launched a Shahed drone strike on the infrastructure of Sumy community. No casualties were reported. The Regional Military Administration stated that all necessary services are working at the scene.
According to the medical facility, on the evening of 5 January, a fragment of russian drone struck one of Sumy’s outpatient clinics. One of russian attack drones exploded near the clinic. The outpatient clinic is currently open and receiving visitors.
The Regional Military Administration informed that in Svesa, the debris in the destroyed section of a five-story building hit by russian guided bombs (GABs) on 4 January has been cleared, with no casualties found. Gradual restoration of electricity and gas supply is underway to the most damaged residential building. Following russian attack, four five-story buildings (300 households) remain without water, 15 households without electricity, and 20 households without gas. Emergency crews need to seal over 700 windows and doors in affected buildings.
According to Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, compared to January last year, the number of artillery and aerial strikes on the territory of Sumy oblast has significantly increased. Over the past five days alone, 338 attacks have been recorded. He noted that the enemy most frequently uses aerial bombs, FPV-drones, and unmanned aerial vehicles. In particular, FPV-drones have already carried out 129 strikes since the beginning of 2025. Settlements in Sumy and Shostka regions suffer the most from russian artillery and aerial attacks.
The Regional Military Administration informed that russian forces have not crossed the Ukrainian border in Sumy oblast. However, individual russian sabotage groups have entered Ukrainian territory, but their actions were promptly countered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and border guards.
Chernihiv oblast
According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, in Chernihiv oblast, during the night of 5–6 January, a mobile fire team from the 105th Border Guard Unit shot down russian Shahed-type UAV.
The Department of Civil Protection and Defence Work of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that on 5 January, debris from a Geran-2 UAV damaged three residential buildings and other structures, according to.
Over the past day, 5 January, russian forces attacked 14 villages in three border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk — using various weapons. Border guards reported a total of 80 explosions. The enemy dropped explosives from UAVs (13 strikes), used FPV-drones (22 strikes), artillery (14 strikes), mortars (14 strikes), and unguided aerial rockets (4 strikes).
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that in just the past week, 15 people were injured as a result of russian shelling in Chernihiv and Semenivka, and one person was killed. During this period, the region experienced 114 shellings—totaling 343 strikes. Russian forces targeted 20 settlements in three regions: Chernihiv, Novhorod-Siverskyi, and Koriukivka. Specifically, the enemy used 2 missile strikes and 50 airstrikes (including air-to-surface X-59 missiles, GABs, unguided aerial rockets, Shahed kamikaze drones, and FPV-drones).
As a result of russian attack last week, 3 residential buildings and 2 outbuildings were destroyed, 2 hospital buildings, 2 apartment blocks, 82 houses, 30 outbuildings, 4 administrative buildings, and vehicles were damaged. The enemy also targeted 2 heating plants, a lyceum building, a bakery, a shop, a hangar, and a pellet production workshop.
The medical facility reported that six adults and two children, who were injured as a result of GAB attacks on Semenivka on 4 January, are currently in Koriukivka Central Regional Hospital. The condition of all the victims is stable. The patient in the most critical condition was transferred to the neurosurgical department of Chernihiv Regional Hospital.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Late in the evening and overnight, the enemy continued attacking Nikopol region. The strikes were primarily carried out by artillery and a kamikaze drone. The occupiers targeted the regional centre, Marhanets and Pokrov communities. There were no casualties reported.
Air defence forces were active in the oblast, shooting down 5 enemy UAVs.
During the day, the occupiers launched more than 10 attacks on Nikopol region by artillery, kamikaze drones and dropped munitions from drones. The attacks targeted the regional centre, Marhanets and Myrove communities, damaging a store, an unused building and infrastructure. There were no casualties reported. Also, the enemy attacked Zelenodolsk community in Kryvyi Rih region by a kamikaze drone. There were no injuries reported.
Vinnytsia oblast
According to the RMA, air defence forces were active overnight, preventing any damage or casualties.
Mayor Serhii Morhunov reported that 3 fuel tankers were handed over to a military unit from Vinnytsia oblast. The equipment was custom-made for military purposes and will serve logistical needs.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, said that air raid alerts lasted nearly the entire night in Kirovohrad oblast. Mobile fire teams repelled an enemy Shahed drone attack. There was no damage or casualties reported.
Oleksandriia paid tribute to serviceman Yevhen Trukhanovich, a 42-year-old soldier who was killed on 31 December during combat near Ivanopillia village in Bakhmut region, Donetsk oblast.
Poltava oblast
Referring to the RMA, at night, russian forces attacked Poltava oblast, causing damage to energy infrastructure. There were no casualties reported.
Poltava oblast is mourning 2 Ukrainian defenders: Oleksandr Kharchuk, who was killed during a combat mission and Serhii Bochkar, who was killed on 27 December 2024, in Kharkiv oblast.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, informed that as a result of a drone attack and falling debris, property was damaged in several settlements. In particular, in Zvenyhorod region, windows in 2 private residential buildings were broken. In Cherkasy oblast, the roof of a warehouse storing grain was damaged.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Yesterday, the occupiers carried out 542 strikes on 12 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy conducted 13 airstrikes on Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novopavlivka, and Temyrivka. 353 UAVs of various modifications attacked Kamianske, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, and Novodarivka. 14 MLRS strikes targeted Stepnohirsk, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, and Mala Tokmachka. Additionally, 162 artillery strikes hit Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, and Novodarivka. There were five reported cases of destruction to residential buildings and infrastructure.
According to the General Staff as of 4pm, the enemy launched a single attack near Novodanylivka towards Orikhiv and launched an airstrike on Stepnohirsk using unguided missiles.
It is reported that russian forces constructed trenches on burial mounds in Vasylivka region, Zaporizhzhia oblast, resulting in the partial destruction of the “Lysovska Mound” archaeological site. This site consists of a group of burial mounds where people buried their dead thousands of years ago along with valuable items. It is considered unique to the region. Another historical complex, “Kamiana Mohyla”, was looted and damaged during the occupation.
Mykolaiv oblast
Yesterday, 5 January, at 10:39pm, the enemy launched a cruise missile, presumably an X-59, targeting Mykolaiv oblast. The attack was unsuccessful. Additionally, russian forces carried out 12 strikes using FPV drones and one artillery shelling on Kutsurub community. A private house was damaged in the village of Dmytrivka, due to the attacks. At 2:54 and 6:03pm, the enemy struck Ochakiv with FPV drones. There were no casualties.
Primary work to eliminate the consequences of an oil spill in the Southern Buh River, caused by debris from a russian drone hitting an enterprise in Mykolaiv, is expected to be completed within 10 days. As of 6 January, over 100 tons of liquid have been collected out of more than 1,800 tons that polluted the river. According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, preliminary estimates place the damage at approximately 45 billion UAH.
Repairs to the boathouse of the Regional Specialized Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve in Sailing, “Regional Yacht Club,” have been completed. The building had been damaged by russian aggression, and the capital repairs included restoration of the structure and ensuring its continuous operation.
A preschool in Mykolaiv received a 25 kW generator, ensuring uninterrupted power supply even during extended outages. This initiative was made possible through the efforts of the Ukraine Task Force of Rotary Germany, the Rotary Club of Mykolaiv, and the humanitarian hub of the Business Support and Economic Development Center. Similar generators have previously been provided to two Mykolaiv lyceums, enabling the schools to operate effectively under challenging conditions.
Odesa oblast
As of 6:00 a.m. on 6 January, there was one enemy ship in the Black Sea equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles. Seven enemy ships were present in the Mediterranean Sea, including two carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles with a combined salvo capacity of up to 22 missiles.
Over the past day, five vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in the interest of the russian federation, while nine ships entered the Sea of Azov.
In 2024, the ports of Odesa oblast handled 97m tons of cargo, a 57% increase compared to 2023. Specifically, the “Greater Odesa” ports accounted for 79.9m tons, and the Danube ports handled 17.3m tons. Most of the cargo consisted of agricultural exports destined for various countries around the world.
Kherson oblast
Around 5pm, russian forces attacked a minibus in Shumenskyi neighborhood in Kherson using a drone. Preliminary reports indicate one person was killed and nine others were injured.
At approximately 12:30pm, russian troops targeted a civilian car in Kherson with a drone. A 43-year-old man sustained explosive injuries and a concussion.
During a morning attack on Kherson, a 58-year-old man suffered explosive injuries. In Veletenske, a 45-year-old resident sustained explosive trauma, chest injuries, a facial contusion, and a rib fracture due to a russian drone attack. In Zelenivka, another drone attack left a 45-year-old man with explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds to his arms and legs.
Yesterday, russian forces shelled Kherson, Antonivka, Stanislav, Prydniprovske, Bilozerka, Naddniprianske, Komyshany, Inzhenerne, Zelenivka, Kizomys, Shyroka Balka, Poniativka, Beryslav, and Urozhaine using artillery, MLRS, mortars, and drones. The attacks damaged 29 structures, including 15 private homes, two apartment buildings, five civilian and two police service vehicles, a university, a printing house, a garage, and a utility building. One person was killed, and 13 others were injured due to russian aggression.
Kherson Regional Administration later reported on victims injured in earlier russian strikes. A woman wounded during a midnight attack on Zelenivka required medical attention. The 78-year-old woman suffered explosive injuries, a concussion, and leg wounds. A 50-year-old man from Bilozerka injured in a drone attack on 3 January sustained explosive injuries and a brain concussion. A resident of Beryslav sought medical care after being injured in a drone attack on 4 January. The 69-year-old man was diagnosed with explosive injuries and a concussion.
The South Operational Command reported that the enemy continues efforts to secure a foothold in Dnipro river island zone. Over the past day, the enemy attempted assault actions but failed. Ukrainian defense forces in the south eliminated 48 occupiers and destroyed 2 S-300 air defense systems, 25 artillery systems, 21 reconnaissance drones, 2 mortars, 22 units of automotive and armored equipment, 4 motorcycles, 1 buggy, 1 boat, 2 electronic warfare (EW) stations, 5 drone control antennas, 2 communication antennas and 1 Starlink satellite terminal. Additionally, 8 shelters, 5 personnel accommodations, 11 engineering and fortification structures, ammunition and supply depots, fuel storage facilities, and a drone control site were hit.

Volyn oblast
During 2024, the Lutskteplo company received almost UAH 50m in aid from USAID. Recently, the utility company received 2 new vehicles (a dump truck and a dump truck with a manipulator) worth UAH 6m, as well as heat exchangers and pumping equipment worth UAH 4.3m and UAH 7.4m, respectively.

Lviv oblast
Recruitment for free courses of drone operators and FPV designers for veterans has begun in Lviv. Combatants and persons with war-related disabilities can also be trained for free. The Drone Operator course covers the basics of FPV and navigation, drone maintenance, handling in challenging environments, flight simulations, practice on specialized equipment and flying in real-world conditions.
Rivne oblast
The RMA held an online meeting chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. They discussed a Center will be established in Rivne oblast, where they will teach how to handle weapons, tactical medicine, orientation in the terrain, physical training and countering information warfare.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil City Council reported that 6 servicemen from the community will receive one-time cash assistance for treatment and rehabilitation in the total amount of UAH 60,000.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi community sent 20 DJI MAVIC 3T with a thermal imager worth almost UAH 3.5m to the Defense Forces.
Chernivtsi oblast
Lviv City Council will make its contribution from the budget of UAH 100m to the raised of Armors. All funds will go to support the military thanks to the budget funds.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ordered additional 35-mm ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft gun from Germany’s Rheinmetall. The new order includes 180,000 HEI-T (high explosive tracer charge) munitions and was booked in December 2024. The order is financed by Germany. Its value is traditionally not mentioned, indicating that it is a two-digit number in millions of euros.
In Lithuania, people with citizenship of the russian federation, belarus and China were banned from serving in the army. If a person is already in the armed forces, but receives the citizenship of the specified countries, he will be released from service. This also applies to members of the Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union.
