Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:
On 6 August, there were 87 combat clashes on the frontline.
The following settlements were affected by enemy artillery shelling from the territory of the russian federation: Marine, Bila Bereza, Popivka, Khliborob, Prohres, Hudove, Oleksandrivka in Sumy oblast; Khrinivka in Chernihiv oblast; Vidrozhdenivske in Kharkiv oblast.
Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there were eleven combat clashes, two of which have not subsided to this day. The enemy carried out one airstrike, dropped two guided aerial bombs in total and carried out 170 artillery shelling, including five from multiple launch rocket systems.
Towards Southern Sloboda, Ukrainian units repelled one enemy attack near Vovchansk.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attacked positions eight times in the areas of the settlements of Holubivka, Tyschenkivka, Zahryzove, Kupiansk and Kurylivka. One battle is still ongoing.
Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out seven attacks in the vicinity of the settlements of Ridkodub, Karpivka, Shandryholovove, Seredne, Torske, and Hryhorivka. One battle is still ongoing.
Towards Siversk, the enemy attacked positions of the Defense Forces seven times near Hryhorivka, Pereizne and Vyimka. Two battles are still ongoing.
Towards Kramatorsk, the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack near the settlement of Novomarkovove.
Towards Toretsk, russians tried seven times to push Ukrainian units out of the occupied positions in the vicinity of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Toretsk, Katerynivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar and Yablunivka. The defense forces successfully repelled six enemy assaults, one battle is ongoing.
Towards Pokrovsk, the enemy made 22 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders out of the occupied positions in the vicinity of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Myrnohrad, Zvirove, Udachne, and Novoukrainka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelled 19 enemy attacks.
Towards Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian soldiers have repelled eight attacks by the occupation army in the areas of the settlements of Filiya, Novopil, Zeleny Gay, Piddubne, Tolstoy, Voskresenka, Maliivka, another battle is ongoing.
Towards Huliaipole and Orikhiv, The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the directions. The settlement of Kanivske was subjected to air strikes.
Towards Kherson, there were five clashes. The enemy was unsuccessful.
In June 2025, Ukraine recorded the highest number of civilian casualties in the last three years. According to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission, 232 people were killed last month, another 1,343 injured. Also, according to the report, in June russia carried out ten times more missile strikes and attacks using UAVs than in June 2024. The UN mission also confirms the “tendency to worsen the situation”.
Ukraine returned a group of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories. Among them is a 15-year-old girl who wore an embroidered vyshyvanka to a russian school, defending her pro-Ukrainian position. For this, she was brutally harassed and beaten, and teachers wrote denunciations and threatened her mother with deprivation of parental rights. The other children are a 4-year-old girl and her 8-year-old brother, who were threatened with being taken away from their family for refusing to attend a russian school. Also, a 17-year-old boy who narrowly escaped being conscripted into the russian army was issued a summons.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
There were 143 combat clashes.
Towards Southern Sloboda, there were five combat clashes near Vovchansk and Fiholivka.
Towards Kupiansk, there were seven attacks. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the vicinity of the settlements of Radkivka, Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, Zahryzove and Novoplatonivka.
Shelling
Kharkiv and 5 settlements of the oblast were subjected to enemy strikes.
▪️One person was injured as a result of the shelling.
A 20-year-old woman was injured in the city of Kharkiv.
The enemy attacked 2 UAVs in Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv.
The enemy actively used various types of weapons:
▪️56 unguided aircraft missiles;
▪️6 GABs;
▪️1 UAV of the Shahed type;
▪️1 UAV of the Geran-2 type;
▪️4 UAVs of the Molniya type;
▪️1 FPV drone;
▪️1 UAV (type to be determined).

Civil infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:
▪️In Kharkiv, an apartment building and a gas station were damaged;
▪️In Kharkiv region, non-residential premises were damaged (village Borshchova);
▪️In Kupiansk region, 2 apartment buildings were damaged (city of Kupiansk), an enterprise (village Prykolotne);
▪️In Izium region, a private house was damaged (village Pisky-Radkivski);
▪️In Chuhuiv region, a garden society was damaged (village Pechenyhi);
▪️In Bohodukhiv region, a private house was damaged (village Perovske).
Donetsk oblast
Shelling
On August 5, russian troops carried out 3,111 strikes on the front line and residential areas.
The strikes occurred in 6 settlements: the cities of Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, the village of Zarichne, the villages of Ivanopillia, Kamianka, and Stepanivka.
42 civilian objects were damaged, including 40 residential buildings.

In Pokrovsk, russians killed a civilian, injured three more people. A private home was damaged.
The enemy shelled Kostiantynivka with artillery and FPV drones – three civilians were injured, 7 private homes and a religious site were destroyed.
In Zarichne, a civilian was injured as a result of an enemy FPV drone hit.
The occupiers dropped three GAB-250 bombs on Ivanopillia – damaged 32 private homes.
In addition, information has been established about the injuries of two civilians in Pokrovsk, who were injured on August 4.
Luhansk oblast
The enemy tried to advance towards Lyman 23 times, towards Siversk – three times. At the same time, the invaders used artillery 29 times – 27 barrels, twice – rocket-propelled. Combat missions in our zone of responsibility were carried out by 56 russian UAVs and FPV drones.
Citizens of the russian federation are promised twice as much incentive payments if they agree to move to the occupied territories and work there for five years in their specialty. In the regions of russia, a standard, lower, tariff is in effect. However, even money does not motivate either doctors, teachers, or cultural workers. Currently, only seven people are ready to drop everything and try to go to remote villages of the so-called “lpr” to promote Russian culture there.
There has been no water in the private sector of Siverskodonetsk for more than a week. A regular water main burst occurred in this area. However, the company, which has recently been responsible for repairing water supply networks, lacks welders. Recall that in the spring, russians liquidated the local water utility as a separate business entity. These functions are performed by an enterprise whose management is located in Luhansk. Yesterday, water was turned off throughout the city and in the surrounding villages due to another accident at critical infrastructure facilities.

Kyiv oblast
Timur Tkachenko, Head of Kyiv City Military Administration, reported that the number of people killed in the russian attack on 31 July in Kyiv has risen to 32. A man who suffered a serious neck injury during the shelling died in hospital.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the oblast reported that emergency work is underway at the site of enemy shelling in Kyiv oblast. Rescuers continue to dismantle structures, extinguish places where fires may occur, and check the area for smouldering spots. On the night of 1 August, an enemy strike in the Bila Tserkva district caused a fire at an industrial facility covering an area of over 10,000 square metres, which took more than a day to extinguish. A total of 106 rescuers and 34 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire, with the use of robotics and special equipment.

In the village of Hnidyn, Boryspil district, the conversion of the basement into a shelter at the Petro Yatsyk Lyceum is nearing completion. New hot and cold water supply systems have been installed in the premises, drains replaced, two tanks for drinking water storage installed, a heating system and a new ventilation area set up.
Zhytomyr oblast
The pilot charity project ‘SOVA’, initiated by military personnel and war veterans, has been operating in Zhytomyr for two months. It focuses on providing emergency legal assistance to military personnel, veterans and their families, as well as to the families of those who have died or gone missing. During this period, the call centre has received over 200 calls.
Sumy oblast
Oleh Apostol, Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, explained that the situation in Sumy and Kursk oblast has been partially stabilized. Ukrainian forces have liberated Andriivka and Kindrativka, and another settlement is expected to be de-occupied soon.
Andrii Demchenko, State Border Guard Service Spokesperson, reported that russian forces are attempting to advance within the boundaries of Yunakivka and Khotin communities, deploying infantry groups. These efforts have proven unsuccessful, as Ukrainian defenders actively counter them—destroying dozens of russian infantrymen daily using artillery and drones.
Artem Yanchenko, Head of Bytytsia Administrative District, informed that on 5 August, russian forces struck a residential house in Vakalivshchyna village, Sumy community, using an FPV-drone. The house burned down, but the fire was contained.
Between the morning of 5 August and the morning of 6 August, russian forces carried out 70 attacks targeting 32 settlements across 13 territorial communities in the oblast. In Sumy community, a missile strike killed two civilian men and injured four others. In Esman community, a 77-year-old man was wounded by an explosive dropped from an FPV-drone.
The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. Enemy forces actively used guided aerial bombs (over 10 strikes), VOG grenade drops from UAVs (over 10 strikes), multiple launch rocket systems (10 strikes), as well as FPV-drones, other UAVs, and missile strikes.
As a result of russian attacks on Sumy oblast yesterday:
- In Sumy community, non-residential buildings, agricultural equipment, and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
- In Mykolaivka rural community, a school building, garage, and store were damaged;
- In Esman community, private houses were damaged.
Over the past day, 42 people were evacuated from border communities by local authorities in coordination with units of the State Emergency Service, National Police, and civil society organizations.
Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, announced that starting today, a zonal air raid alert system has been launched in Sumy oblast. From now on, the alert will sound only in regions under direct threat, rather than across the entire oblast as before.
In Sumy oblast, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with soldiers of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment at the unit’s command post. These troops were the first to enter Kursk oblast last year and significantly contributed to Ukraine’s exchange fund.
Since the beginning of the year, 23 veterans and their family members in Sumy oblast have won grants under the veteran component of “Own Business” program. They received UAH 11.9m. to launch or expand their businesses and will create 48 new jobs.
Sumy Regional Military Administration has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the international humanitarian organization Première Urgence Internationale. Head of the Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, met with representatives of the organization to discuss priority areas of collaboration, including access to medical services in frontline communities, support for hospitals with equipment and medicines, and assistance to internally displaced persons.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that on 5 August, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast — Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (16 explosions), artillery strikes (10 explosions), a tank shot, FPV-drone attacks (16 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (33 explosions). Twelve villages came under fire.
On 5 August, in Mykolaivka village, Semenivka community, located near the border in Chernihiv oblast, two uninhabited houses caught fire following russian drone attacks. According to the Department of Civil Protection and Defense Work of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, two explosions were recorded: one from an incendiary device dropped by a UAV and another from an FPV-drone strike.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past two months, a consolidated remote mechanized demining unit has cleared over 45 hectares of agricultural land in Chernihiv oblast. Two remotely operated GCS-200 machines were used for the task. These machines can withstand the detonation of anti-personnel and anti-tank mines and neutralize artillery shells and other explosive hazards.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
From evening until morning, attacks on Nikopol region did not stop. In total, the occupiers carried out almost two dozen strikes. They targeted the regional center, Marhanets and Pokrovske communities with drones and artillery. A fire broke out, a private house burned, an enterprise and infrastructure were hit. They also attacked Synelnykove region. They targeted Mezhova community with a drone. A fire broke out, infrastructure was damaged.
In Nikopol region, the enemy fired about 65 times with artillery and drones. They targeted the regional center, Myrove, Marhanets and Pokrovske communities with drones and artillery. A 65-year-old woman was killed. Two people were injured – women 78 and 76 years old. They were provided with the necessary medical assistance. Several fires broke out, 10 private homes, 3 outbuildings and a gas pipeline were damaged. The consequences of the evening attacks are still being clarified. They struck again Synelnykove region with UAVs and GABs, and targeted Pokrovske and Mezhova communities. There were fires, 7 private homes and buses were hit. They also attacked Zelenodolsk community of Kryvyi Rih region. A fire broke out due to a drone strike.
Vinnytsia oblast
Serhii Morhunov, City Mayor, says that Vinnytsia oblast reinforced the Chervona Kalina brigade with a combat unit of the National Guard. They transferred new type special equipment: 30 DJI Matrice 4T quadcopters and 40 Mavic 3 Enterprise.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reports that air defense was on alert. There were no casualties or damage.
Kirovohrad oblast lost its defender Borys Ursolov. On March 30, 2023, the man was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was considered missing for nine months.
Poltava oblast
A soldier from Poltava region, Yevheniy Garazha, was killed on September 1, 2024, while performing a combat mission near the city of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk oblast.
In Kremenchuk RMA, state awards were presented to Oleksandr Olovarenko, Maksym Seliukov and Andriy Bayva.
Cherkasy oblast
President Zelenskyy posthumously awarded the fallen serviceman Yevhenii Khlystun from Uman community with the Order “For Courage” of the III degree. The award was presented to the relatives of the deceased. Yevhenii Khlystun was killed on April 11, 2024, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk oblast.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
At dawn on 6 August, russians dropped aerial bombs on a recreation center in Zaporizhzhia region. Buildings were damaged and destroyed. Twelve people were injured, including two children. Two people—a man and a woman—were killed.
According to Ivan Fedorov, Head of the regional military administration, russian forces carried out at least four strikes on the recreation center, reportedly using FABs.

On 6 August, the russian army attacked a house in Stepnohirsk with an FPV drone. As a result of the strike, a man was killed.
On 5 August, the occupiers launched 567 attacks on 16 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted six airstrikes on Zarichne, Huliaipole, Malynivka, Olhivske, and Novoandriivka. 394 drones of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Bilenke, Yurivka, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Malynivka, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Chervona Krynytsia, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Six MLRS attacks targeted Plavni, Prymorske, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodanylivka. 161 artillery strikes were launched on Kamianske, Huliaipole, Malynivka, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novoandriivka. There were 15 reports of destroyed apartments, non-residential buildings, private homes, storage facilities, and agricultural machinery. Two people were killed and three were injured in attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Vasylivka regions.
On 5 August, Ukrainian defense forces repelled three russian attacks towards Orikhiv and Huliaipole near Temyrivka, Stepove, and Plavni.
Mykolaiv oblast
On the night of 6 August, air defense forces shot down or neutralized two enemy Shahed 131/136 drones over Mykolaiv oblast.
On 5 August, at 11:25 am, the enemy attacked the city of Ochakiv with an FPV drone. Also, at 1:44 pm, russian forces shelled Kutsurub community. A private house was damaged in the village of Dmytrivka. No casualties were reported.
Odesa oblast
On the night of 6 August, russia carried out a targeted attack with dozens of strike drones on a gas infrastructure facility – a compressor station of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine in Odesa oblast near the Ukrainian-Romanian border. This compressor station was part of a route linking Greek LNG terminals with Ukrainian gas storage facilities via the Trans-Balkan pipeline. LNG from the U.S. and test volumes of Azerbaijani gas were supplied through this station. Specialists are working at the site to assess the consequences of the attack.
It is reported that russia also attacked a gas station in the village of Novosilske in Odesa oblast. The fire destroyed production equipment. 2,500 customers were temporarily left without a gas supply due to damage to the main gas pipeline.
On the night of 6 August, air defense in southern Ukraine destroyed 31 strike drones of the Shahed type and other types, 29 of which were over Odesa oblast. Additionally, on 5 August, one reconnaissance and two strike drones were destroyed.
Kherson oblast
Around 10:00 am, russians attacked a man in Kherson with a drone. The 46-year-old resident sustained a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to his legs and torso.
At approximately 11:00 am, russian forces attacked a man in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson with a UAV. As a result of the drone strike, the 56-year-old man suffered a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to his lower back and chest.
At noon in Kherson, russians attacked a resident with a drone. The 54-year-old man received a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to his chest and arm.
At noon in Antonivka, russian invaders attacked an elderly man with a UAV. The 74-year-old resident suffered a blast injury and a shrapnel wound to his leg.
A man who was injured last night during the russian shelling of Kherson downtown sought medical attention. The 44-year-old Kherson resident was diagnosed with a concussion, blast injury, and closed traumatic brain injury.
Two residents of Mykilske, who were attacked by a drone last night, also sought medical help. Both men were diagnosed with blast injuries and shrapnel wounds.
Last night, russian artillery shelled Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. A 35-year-old man was injured in the strike. He sustained a blast injury and a concussion.
Yesterday, the russians attacked Antonivka, Molodizhne, Naddniprianske, Sadove, Stepanivka, Prydniprovske, Inzhenerne, Zelenivka, Bilozerka, Berehove, Veletenske, Kizomys, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, Sofiivka, Dariivka, Mykilske, Poniativka, Tokarivka, Beryslav, Zmiivka, Shliakhove, Novoraisk, Chervonyi Maiak, Kostyrka, Novooleksandrivka, Zolota Balka, Havrylivka, Tiahynka, Burhunka, Vysoke, Virivka, Mykolaivka, Odradokamianka, Mylove, Dudchany, Lvove, Sablukivka, Kozatske, Vesele, and the city of Kherson using drones, artillery, and airstrikes. Eight private homes and garden cooperative areas were damaged. Eight people were injured as a result of russian aggression.
According to the General Staff, there were five engagements towards Kherson, with the enemy having no success. Yesterday, the enemy made one unsuccessful attempt to approach Ukrainian defensive fortifications and suffered losses. Over the past day, 52 occupiers, 14 artillery systems, 1 Partizan multiple rocket launcher, 47 vehicles, 1 radar station, 32 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs, 5 reconnaissance drones, including Zala and Supercam, 18 motorcycles, 1 generator, 1 solar panel, and 4 communication antennas were destroyed. Additionally, 49 shelters, 2 observation posts, and 3 field ammunition storage sites were destroyed or damaged.

Volyn oblast
In Lutsk, young people will be taught to fly UAVs. Participants will master the basic skills of handling weapons; tactical skills; first aid; overcoming obstacle courses; rope crossing; flying UAVs on simulators.
Zakarpattia oblast
Romanian partners participate in developing Ukraine’s border infrastructure. The other day, representatives of the RMA held a productive meeting. They discussed the construction of Bila Tserkva – Sighetu Marmației checkpoint. The relevant contract was signed.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade received 180 PRODRON 10 FPV drones and 3 DJI Mavic 3 Classic quadcopters worth over UAH 3.3m.
Lviv oblast
The Tent Camp – Military School named after Hero of Ukraine Taras Matviyev has ended in Lviv oblast, which brought together young people from all over the oblast. Participants learned the rules of camouflage in the forest, UAV control, the basics of military tactics and tactical medicine, and sapper work. The knowledge was passed on by military personnel with combat experience and certified instructors.
Rivne oblast
Another volunteer fire brigade has been created in Rivne oblast. This time, the fire and rescue unit will operate in the village of Myrohoshcha, Dubno region with 4,200 residents.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil City Council will pay UAH 50,000 to defenders who participated in hostilities, were captured, and were released. The possibility of re-applying for help for treatment or rehabilitation in case of re-injury is also provided.
Servicemen from Ternopil will receive UAH 15,000 each for treatment and rehabilitation. Since the beginning of 2025, 339 defenders have received the financial support.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
For the defense of Ukrainian positions and the destruction of enemy combat forces, a native of Makivska community, Kamianets-Podilskyi region, Junior Sergeant Iliia Orlovskyi, was awarded with the Golden Cross honorary badge by Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Chernivtsi oblast
In January-July 2025, residents of Chernivtsi oblast paid over UAH 1.015bn in military fees to the state budget. This is UAH 762m more than in the same period last year.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Texelis (France) and the Ukrainian military-industrial complex will cooperate to develop new armored vehicles. The model is not specified, but it is known that it will be created on the basis of the Celeris chassis.
