War in Ukraine today: latest news, 04 October, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 954th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4pm:   

Ukraine’s defence forces are holding back the offensive of the russian occupiers. Also russian terrorists continue to destroy Ukrainian towns and villages with missile, air and artillery strikes. The number of combat engagements has now risen to 79.

The situation is the hottest towards Kurakhove, Kupiansk and Pokrovsk. The defence forces are taking measures to prevent the enemy from advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory.

Today, the occupiers launched airstrikes and fired artillery at the border of Sumy oblast. Currently, 13 air strikes involving 23 guided aerial bombs have been reported. In particular, they hit the areas of Stepne, Obody, Bilokopytove, Yastrubyne, Pavlivka, Bondarivshchyna, Myrlohy and Katerynivka. The settlements of Uhrody, Sosnivka, Obody, Shalyhyno, Luhivka, Pavlivka, Velyka Pysarivka, Fotovizh and Stepanivka were shelled with artillery.

The russian occupiers launched ten airstrikes on the territory of Kursk oblast, dropping 20 guided bombs.

Towards Kharkiv three firefights took place near Starytsia and Vovchansk since the beginning of the day, two of which are still ongoing. At the same time, the occupants dropped two bombs near Vovchansk.

Towards Kupiansk, russian troops attempted to storm our positions near Synkivka, Novoselivka, Pishchane, Stelmakhivka and Lozova 11 times, and the fighting continues. Hlushkivka was under an airstrike.

Towards Lyman, the enemy attacked in the areas of Hrekivka, Makiivka, Novosadove and Torske. In total, there have been eight combat engagements in this sector since the beginning of the day, and two are still ongoing. The enemy conducted air strikes with anti-aircraft gunships in the vicinity of Iziumske, Zarichne, Ozerne and Lyman, using 20 bombs.

Towards Siversk, the enemy continues to attempt to break through the defences of our troops, but is met with a worthy rebuff from Ukrainian defenders. For instance, near Verkhnokamianske, the occupiers twice tried to push our units back. They launched airstrikes on Zakitne, Pereizne and Riznykivka.  

Towards Kramatorsk, since the beginning of the day, russian troops have tried six times to drive our units from their positions near Kalynivka, Stupochki and Andriivka. The enemy also attacked Chasiv Yar with unguided aerial missiles and dropped unmanned aerial vehicles on Yurkivka.

Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked Ukrainian troops’ positions eight times with the support of bomber aircraft. Seven firefights are currently ongoing near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, fierce fighting is taking place in the areas of Mykolaivka, Selydove and Lysivka. So far, the enemy has made seven assaults on our positions. Fighting continues in four locations. Enemy aircraft also struck near Pokrovsk and Selydove using anti-aircraft gunships.

Towards Kurakhoive, the situation is difficult, where the enemy has attacked our units 16 times since the beginning of the day. He tried to advance near Tsukurine, Hostre, Heorhiivka, Antonivka, Kostiantynivka and towards Bohoiavlenka. Six firefights continue.

Towards Orikhiv, the occupiers tried to advance four times but were fiercely repelled near Robotyne, Mali Shcherbaky and Kamianske, and the battle near Kamianske is ongoing.


Yurii Belousov, Head of the Department for Combating Crimes Committed in the Context of Armed Conflict of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that Ukrainian law enforcers have information about the execution of 93 Ukrainian prisoners of war by the russian military on the battlefield. 80% of executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war were recorded in 2024.

According to the website of the NGO VETERANKA, a chatbot for women, who want to join the army, has been launched in Ukraine. There, women can find a list of platforms with military vacancies.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian forces are amassing their efforts near Mykolaivka and Selydove towards Pokrovsk. Over the past day, the occupiers launched nine and seven assaults in these areas, respectively, and carried out 30 attacks towards Pokrovsk.

Russian troops remain active towards Kurakhove, where they conducted 23 attacks on 3 October, assaulting positions near Novooleksandrivka, Tsukuryne, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Trudove, Vozdvyzhenka, Antonivka and Katerynivka.

Ukrainian forces repelled 13 more assaults towards Lyman, specifically near Makiivka, Torske and Hrekivka.

Kharkiv oblast

Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that according to preliminary information, two hits, about 17, were in the forest belt of one of the central districts of Kharkiv.

Yesterday at 6pm, the russians attacked Tokarivka village of Derhachi community, Kharkiv region. They dropped two grenades from an enemy drone on a motorbike. A 62-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man were injured.

At 4:35pm, russians attacked Bohuslavka village of Borova community, Izium region. The shelling destroyed two houses, damaged window glazing and roofs of 10 private houses. Two women of 75 and 73 years old were injured.

At 4pm, russians attacked Perovske village of Zolochiv community, Bohodukhiv region. A private house, outbuildings, and power lines were partially damaged. A 44-year-old man, a 66-year-old woman and a 50-year-old woman were injured.

At 3:30pm, russians attacked Kupiansk. A 5-storey building was shelled and apartments damaged.

At 3:30pm, russians attacked Okhrymivka village of Vovchansk community, Chuhuiv region. A 31-year-old man was injured.

Police said that the russian federation attacked a public transport stop in Kupiansk with a kamikaze drone around 3pm. At the time of the strike, there were people at the bus stop, a 44-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were hospitalised with shrapnel wounds

The regional prosecutor’s office said that a 50-year-old man, who works as an electrician, exploded on an anti-personnel mine in Dovhenke, Izium region, around 2:30pm.

At 12:45pm, russians attacked Kivsharivka village of Kupiansk region. A garage and a car were on fire.

At 12:05pm, russians attacked Kindrashivka community of Kupiansk region. As a result of the shelling, forest litter on the area of 800 sq m was burning.

At 9:45am, russians attacked Kupiansk. The roof of a communal facility was damaged

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy conducted four offensive and assaults near Starytsia and Vovchansk.  

Towards Kupiansk, the number of combat engagements reached eleven. Defence forces repelled enemy attacks near Synkivka, Kurylivka, Pishchane, Vyshneve, Petropavlivka and Pershotravneve.

According to the State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast, five fires were extinguished on 3 October as a result of russian shelling. Specifically, a house, a garage and dry grass destroyed by an explosion were on fire in Bohuslavka of Borova community. Three unexploded aerial bombs were dropped on the village, and 10 houses were damaged.

The RMA said, citing the regional hydrometeorological centre, that the polluted air that Kharkiv residents and residents of the oblast could observe is the result of fires, hostilities and the transfer of air masses from the southeast.

Andrii Kanashevych, Head of Kupiansk Regional Military Administration, reported that 61 children out of 269 remain in the settlements of Kupiansk region, from which compulsory evacuation was announced. Children remain in villages located far from the area of constant shelling.

Donetsk oblast

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office, reported that one person was killed in the morning as a result of russian artillery shelling of Chasiv Yar.

Filashkin, Head of the Regional Military Administration, informed that two people were killed as a result of russian shelling of Donetsk oblast yesterday.  Russian troops killed residents of Kreminna Balka and Stara Mykolaivka. Five more people were wounded in Pokrovsk and Toretsk.

The police recorded 2,057 attacks on the frontline and residential areas. The enemy shelled 13 settlements: Kostiantynivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Kalynove, Kleban Byk, Kreminna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Stara Mykolaivka, Stepanivka, Rivne, Tikhonivka, Trudove villages. 28 civilian objects were damaged, including 15 residential buildings.

Pokrovsk region. According to the RMA, an administrative building was damaged in Kurakhivka, 2 houses were damaged in Stepanivka, 3 houses and a business were damaged in Uspenivka. In Pokrovsk, 4 people were injured, 6 houses, a shop and a production facility were damaged.

Kramatorsk region. A house, a shop and a power line were damaged in Lyman; 2 houses in Zarichne, 2 in Zakitne and 1 in Torske were damaged. A person was killed in Stara Mykolaivka of Illinivka community and 2 facilities were damaged; 2 more facilities were damaged in Kleban-Byk and 1 in Kalynove. In Kostiantynivka, 3 apartment buildings were damaged, and an outbuilding was damaged in Novodmytrivka.

Bakhmut region. Two houses were damaged in Siversk. A person was wounded in Toretsk and a house was damaged. In Chasiv Yar community, 11 private houses, 3 apartment buildings, an administrative building and a non-residential building were damaged.

In just 24 hours, russians fired 14 times at settlements in Donetsk oblast. 908 people, including 92 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Serhii Dobriak, Head of the CMA, reported that about 80% of Pokrovsk’s critical infrastructure was damaged by russian shelling.  Almost half of the city and 10 villages, as well as Rodynske, are without electricity. It is extremely difficult to restore, almost impossible. And the enemy is still hitting the energy infrastructure every day. They are trying to leave us without electricity, as they have already left us without water and gas.

Yaroslav Borysovets, commander of the 44th separate rifle battalion, stated that most of the russian army soldiers, who are captured by the Ukrainian armed forces towards Lyman, are contract soldiers.

Soldiers of two Armed Forces units were killed towards Pokrovsk as a result of the execution of 16 Ukrainian prisoners of war by russian troops. Yurii Belousov, Head of the War Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, informed that the executed Ukrainian servicemen have also been identified. He added that as of today, law enforcers have data on 93 cases of execution of Ukrainian servicemen on the battlefield. More than 700 russian servicemen have been notified of suspicion of these crimes.

The National Police of Ukraine has identified nine more employees of the Kalinin colony in the temporarily occupied Horlivka who are suspected of abusing Ukrainian prisoners. In total, the investigation has identified more than 80 employees of the torture chamber, where civilian and military prisoners have been tortured for more than 10 years.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the occupiers tried to storm the positions of Ukrainian troops near Hrekivka and Makiivka. They fired at Balka Zhuravka from cannon artillery. They sent 39 UAVs towards the village. The invaders attacked Novoiehorivka and Serebrianka forest with unguided aerial missiles.

In September, Luhansk residents filed another 360 reports of destroyed housing. As of today, residents of the region have filed 47,547 relevant information reports.  32,195 of them relate to damaged property, and 15,352 to property completely destroyed by the Russians.

Russia has caused almost UAH 600bn in damage to the environment of Luhansk oblast. The State Environmental Inspectorate continues to record the consequences of russian aggression on nature and calculate the damage. As of today, the damage caused by the contamination of the region’s land resources totalled UAH 314,199,436,484. Forest fires have caused UAH 278,849,765,473 and gas fires – UAH 324,711,905. Other fires caused losses of UAH 42,981,607. Water pollution is estimated at UAH 4,195,387,242.

The so-called “lpr” became the second region of the russian Federation, after one of the regions of the russian Federation, where the russians opened a military class in an educational institution. The students will receive military training there, mastering the skills of tactical medicine and drone control. They will also take a special course in military history and information warfare. They will be trained as militants and propagandists from the school desk. Similar classes are soon to be formed in Stanytsia Luhanska, Khrustalne and Sorokyne.

Due to the inaction of the occupation authorities and firefighters in the “lpr”, Ustynivka in Dovzhansk community, was destroyed by fire. For more than 10 years of occupation, not a single unit of special equipment has been seen in the settlement to carry out preventive measures. The villagers also did not observe the arrival of rescuers when houses were burning. The invaders do not mention the burnt villages in their own media like they do not write about the burnt Khrystoforivna, do not report on the consequences of fires in Shchedyshcheve and other settlements that they decided not to save from the natural disaster.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The RMA reported that russian drones attacked Kyiv once again at night. The fragments of the drones fell on a high-rise building in Darnytskyi district of the city. The balcony windows and the frame of one of the apartments in the high-rise were smashed. No one was injured.

The Department of Social Development and Veterans Policy announced that Kyiv oblast is ranked first in Ukraine in terms of the number of applications from candidates for the positions of veterans’ support specialists. As of the end of September, 147 applications have already been submitted. The support specialists are to provide an individual approach to each veteran, offering comprehensive assistance in rehabilitation, adaptation, psychological support, employment and social issues.

A memorandum of cooperation in the field of mental health was signed by Kyiv City Military Administration and the Ukrainian-Swiss project Mental Health for Ukraine. According to KCMA, by 2028, Kyiv will implement modern treatment models, train medical and social professionals, and conduct an information campaign to raise public awareness of the importance of mental health.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko informed that Kyiv has received another batch of aid from its sister city Leipzig. This includes 55 cars to support the city’s vital functions: 50 Volkswagen vehicles for the municipal utilities that ensure the functioning of the city’s infrastructure and 5 Mercedes vehicles for the repair teams of Kyivteploenerho.

Kyiv Digital reports that Kyiv City Services Portal has launched online support groups for women in the military. Everyone can choose between group or individual consultations to help them cope with anxiety, stress and emotional difficulties.

87 children from the families of Defenders went on a tourist trip to the Republic of Croatia. For 10 days, the children will have the opportunity to enjoy active recreation in the seaside city of Split, excursions, and communication with their Croatian peers. The trip is organised at the invitation of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Croatia. 

Zhytomyr oblast

Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, 33 foster families have been established in Zhytomyr oblast to provide temporary care and support to children in difficult life circumstances during the war. These families currently provide home to 86 children. According to the RMA, 10 new foster families were created in just 9 months of 2024, which indicates an increase in public responsibility and a desire to help children in this difficult time.

According to the city council, Italian architects will develop a concept for a rehabilitation centre for veterans in Zhytomyr. A memorandum was signed with the Italian architectural and planning bureau PIUARCH. The rehabilitation centre will be a place where veterans will receive comprehensive support to restore their physical and mental health. The partners have already presented an interim version of the future concept.

Sumy oblast

 During night and morning, russians carried out 14 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 28 explosions. The attacks targeted Sumy, Mykolaivka, Khotin, Bilopillia, Hlukhiv, Shalyhyne communities.

During the day, on 3 October, russians carried out 82 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 160 explosions. The attacks targeted Sumy, Mykolaivka, Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropilia, Bilopillia, Richky, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Slobidka, Hlukhiv, Shalyhyne, Esman, Seredyna-Buda communities.

The Minister of Health of Ukraine, Viktor Liashko, visited Sumy oblast on a working trip. According to Sumy RMA, during his visit, the minister inspected a city hospital damaged by a Shahed drone attack and spoke with the hospital’s staff. He also reviewed the updated fleet of the Emergency Medical and Disaster Medicine Center. Together with the head of Sumy RMA, Volodymyr Artiukh, Liashko held a meeting with local medical institution leaders to discuss the state of healthcare services and the readiness of the medical system to respond to emergencies.

A delegation from the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) visited Sumy oblast. The Head of Sumy RMA, Volodymyr Artiukh, met with ICRC representatives, Stéphanie Hartlacher and Yves Van Lou, Heads of ICRC sub-delegation in Kharkiv. Artiukh emphasised that one of the priority tasks for Sumy oblast is evacuating residents from dangerous areas, particularly families with children. Evacuation efforts are ongoing, with more settlements being added to the list due to escalating security concerns. The RMA is working hard to relocate people and provide for the needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs), having already formulated short- and long-term requirements for the ICRC to review and address.

Volunteers from the Rapid Response Unit of Ukrainian Red Cross, together with rescue teams, evacuated six people from the 5km border zone in Sumy oblast. The evacuation took place in Kucherivka and Yastrubshchyna in Esman community. Among those evacuated were two elderly women who were unable to move independently. One of them, 88-year-old Maria Stefaniivna, was carried out of a partially destroyed house by the volunteers and taken to a medical facility in Hlukhiv. Her 93-year-old neighbour was transported to her relatives in Sumy.

Chernihiv oblast

During the day, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast. The fire was carried out using GABs, FPV-drones, UAVs and mortars. A total of 52 explosions were reported.

Novhorod-Siverskyi community:

  • 2 explosions (hits by FPV-drones) nearby Vorobiivka village;
  • 1 explosion (hit, likely an explosive device dropped from UAVs) nearby Mykhalchyna Sloboda;
  • 5 hits, explosive devices dropped from UAVs nearby Mykhalchyna Sloboda;
  • 6 explosions (hits, likely by a 120mm mortar) towards Mykhalchyna Sloboda village;
  • 1 explosion (hit, likely by a FPV-drone) on Yasna Poliana village.

Semenivka community:

  • 1  explosion (hit, likely by a FPV-drone) in the area of Progres village;
  • 1  explosion (hit, likely by a FPV-drone) in the area of Karpovychi village;
  • 4 explosions (hits, likely by GAB) on Zoria village.

Snovsk community:

  • 18 explosions (hits, likely by a 120mm mortar) in the area of Kliusy village;
  • 2 explosions (hits, likely by a 120mm mortar) in the area of Khrinivka village;
  • 3 explosions (hits, likely by a 120mm mortar) in the area of Hirsk village;
  • 6 explosions (hits by FPV-drones) on Hirsk village.

Horodnia community:

  • 6 explosions (hits, likely by a 120mm mortar) in the area of Senkivka village

The police in Chernihiv oblast reported that they, in cooperation with local authorities, evacuated a 33-year-old woman and her eight children, aged between five months and 15 years, from the border area. Law enforcement officers, together wit Novhorod-Siverskyi City Council, organised transportation, helped load the family’s belongings, and placed them along with their pets in service vehicles. Just as the evacuation convoy left the village, the russian army struck again, but fortunately, no one was injured, and the family safely left the area.

The Department of Civil Protection and Defense of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that in the border area of Semenivka community in Chernihiv oblast, four forest fires broke out due to ongoing hostilities, affecting a total area of nine hectares. Near the town of Semenivka in Novhorod-Siverskyi region, three forest ground fires were recorded. Additionally, in Zhadove village, Semenivka community, dry grass burned on two hectares, and forest ground fires affected an area of three hectares. All fires were caused by the impact of ammunition or fragments resulting from military actions.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that from evening 3 October until morning 4 October the enemy was firing at Nikopol region with drones and artillery. They targeted the district centre, Myrove and Pokrovsk communities. 

During the day, on 4 October, the russian army attacked Nikopol region more than two dozen times with kamikaze drones and artillery. A 46-year-old man was injured in the district centre. The occupants were targeting Nikopol, Myrove, Pokrovsk and Marhanets communities. A fire broke out in a private house, a sanatorium was damaged, as well as 3 other private houses and a car, and infrastructure was also damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Lyceum №30 raised more than UAH 170,000 for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the charity fair. Visitors had the opportunity to buy products made by students and their parents.

Defender Ruslan Petin from Bratslav was awarded the honorary insignia of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — the Golden Cross badge.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kirovohrad oblast, a russian drone attack in Holovanivka region damaged the administrative building of an enterprise at night. An employee of the company sustained minor injuries.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that at night in Cherkasy oblast, Ukrainian defenders shot down 5 enemy UAVs. 

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that another tranche of support for the defenders has been transferred from Cherkasy oblast. 100 fpv drones of various modifications for the 110th separate mechanised brigade named after Marko Bezruchko. Some of them are equipped with thermal imaging cameras.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the occupiers carried out 493 strikes on 10 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces launched 5 airstrikes on Bilohiria and Uspenivka. 288 UAVs of various modifications attacked Lobkove, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Levadne. Five MLRS strikes hit Novodanylivka and Novoandriivka. Additionally, 195 artillery attacks targeted Lobkove, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Levadne. There were 43 reports of destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure.

It is reported that the occupiers attempted to advance four times in vicinity of Robotyne, Mali Shcherbaky, and Kamianske towards Orikhiv, but were met with strong resistance. According to the General Staff, fighting is ongoing near Kamianske.

Today, on 4 October, in the temporarily occupied city of Enerhodar, a car exploded with Andrii Korotkyi, the “head of physical security” at Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, inside. Korotkyi died in the hospital from injuries sustained in the explosion. After the seizure of the plant, he voluntarily cooperated with russian invaders, providing them with lists of the plant’s employees and their personal information, pointing out individuals with pro-Ukrainian views.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, on 3 October, at 2:21pm, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community with an FPV-type drone. At 4:20pm, the enemy shelled the city of Ochakiv with artillery. There were no casualties.

Odesa oblast

As of 6am on 4 October, there was 1 carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles in the Black Sea, with a total salvo capacity of up to 4 missiles. There were 2 enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, which are carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to 24 missiles.

Over the past day, 4 vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea, and another 5 ships entered the Sea of Azov in the interests of russian federation.

According to the UK Ministry of Defence, the strike on a cargo ship that left the port of Odesa on 11 September was likely accidental. This bulk carrier was transporting over 26,000 tons of grain to Egypt. On 11 September, the merchant vessel AYA was most likely attacked by an anti-ship missile Kh-22 (NATO classification AS-4 Kitchen) from a Tu-22M3 bomber that was in the area at the time. The ship was likely hit due to errors in the guidance systems of the russian pilots, who were using outdated munitions.

Kherson oblast

Today, russian forces attacked Dniprovskyi district in Kherson with a drone. As a result of the attack, a 75-year-old local woman sustained fatal injuries.

At noon, the occupiers attacked Poniativka with mortars. A 38-year-old man was injured in the strike, suffering explosive trauma.

At around 5:30am, the occupiers attacked Kizomys with a drone. A 54-year-old man riding a moped was injured, sustaining explosive trauma, a forearm wound, and a bone fracture in his arm.

Overnight, the russian army shelled Bilozerka with artillery, damaging 13 residential houses. One person was killed, and three others were injured.

Yesterday, the enemy attacked Sadove, Prydniprovske, Zymivnyk, Antonivka, Kizomys, Shyroka Balka, Tomyna Balka, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Beryslav, Zmiivka, Urozhaine, and Mylove, as well as the city of Kherson. russian forces targeted critical infrastructure and public utility networks. Residential areas were damaged, with 35 private homes, farm buildings, warehouses, buses, agricultural equipment, and private vehicles destroyed. One person was killed, and four others were wounded.

During the nighttime drone attack, Ukraine’s air defence forces shot down two Shahed-131/136 drones over Kherson oblast.

In southern Ukraine, Ukrainian forces destroyed 44 units of russian military equipment in the past 24 hours. russian forces lost nine howitzers, a tank, three mortars, 25 units of motor and armoured vehicles, a quad bike, three electronic warfare stations, a Starlink system, and a radar station. Ukrainian forces also eliminated 74 russian soldiers, destroyed an ammunition depot, 16 bunkers, a drone take-off site, an observation post, a command post, two shelters, and a personnel living area.

It is reported that russian forces have intensified mobilization efforts on the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson oblast. According to the civil resistance movement “Anti Z”, russian occupiers are actively searching houses for men aged 18 and over in Henichesk, Skadovsk, Kalanchak and Chaplynka. Under the guise of mobilisation, they are conducting forced measures, violating residents’ rights, and attempting to replenish their military ranks by drafting civilians.

Volyn oblast

Luhansk border detachment received 2 EcoFlow DELTA 2 charging stations and 3 DJI Mavic 3 quadcopters from Lutsk community.

Zakarpattia oblast

47 Safety Classrooms are already functioning in the oblast, 10 more are being equipped. For high-quality training, they should be equipped with interactive and presentation equipment, mock-ups and demonstration models (in particular, fire extinguishers and gas masks), children’s clothes of rescuers, toys, constructors, thematic games, etc.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported thatIvano-Frankivsk oblast ranks second among oblasts of Ukraine in terms of employment of combatants. Currently, 169 combatants are registered with the employment service. Since the beginning of the year, 147 people have been employed.

Lviv oblast

As a result of the combined attacks of russian terrorists using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), in September of this year, an air alert signal was announced 13 times in Lviv oblast. At the same time, the average duration of the air alert was 55 minutes. Most often, enemy weapons reached the territory of Lviv oblast on Friday (5 times) and Thursday (4 times).

Drohobych RMA together with the Squad of Indifferent International CF sent a Renault Maxity car to the military unit. In addition, the passenger car was sent to work at the advanced positions in Donetsk oblast thanks to the HROMADA association of Ukrainians from the city of Catahena (Spain) and the Anticorruptia NGO with the legal support of Drohobych RMA.

The Western Ukrainian Forum of IDP Councils was launched in Lviv oblast, which brought together representatives of IDP Councils from 8 regions of Ukraine. During the event, those present will take part in workshops, exchange experiences, discuss integration of IDPs, state and local support opportunities, the system of social services, as well as successful adaptation practices.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine, Zanko Mykola, Senior Rifleman of the 2nd Rifle Division, the 1st Rifle Platoon, the 1st Rifle Battalion of the Military Unit A0998, from Velikie Mosty, was awarded with the Hero’s Cross order. The award was presented to the defender’s mother. He was killed on 14 September, 2022, during an airstrike near the village of Bezymenne, Kherson oblast.

The 45th Separate Artillery Brigade of the 11th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine now bears the honorary name of General Myron Tarnavskyi. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Commander-in-Chief and President of Ukraine, presented the ribbon with the honorary title to the brigade commander, Colonel Oleh Faidiuk, and the brigade’s flag-bearing group.

Rivne oblast

Rivne oblast is ready for the heating season. During the summer and early autumn, it was possible to: prepare 975 boiler rooms and 84 central heating points; to repair 365 km of heating networks; replace 9 km of emergency and dilapidated networks; replace 20 and overhaul 63 boilers. Communities and heat supply enterprises spent UAH 125m on all this.

In Rivne oblast, the number of inclusive classes is growing. Such training is carried out in 1,633 school classes, as well as in 392 preschool groups. This is 10% more than 6 months ago.

Ternopil oblast

The Recruiting Center of the Ukrainian Army, which has already become the 40th in Ukraine, became operational in Ternopil Center for the Provision of Administrative Services. The aim of the centre is to provide a transparent and effective model of attracting citizens to military service. Through the recruiting centre, you can join not only the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also units of all Defense Forces.

Ternopil City Council reported that volunteers were awarded for supporting Ukrainian soldiers.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

4 SUVs and 2 minibuses were sent to the Special Operations Forces unit from Khmelnytskyi thanks to the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. They discussed supporting the evacuated people from temporarily occupied territories to Chernivtsi oblast, providing them with psychosocial support, financial assistance, resettlement in places of temporary residence, as well as meeting the appropriate conditions there.

Another evacuation train with 45 people arrived in Chernivtsi from the oblast where active hostilities are ongoing. Evacuees will be accepted by 6 institutions of 5 Bukovyna communities. Appropriate conditions have been created for them and everything necessary for a comfortable stay will be provided.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Sebastien Lecornue, Minister of Defense of France, informed that his country will deliver 12 CAESAR artillery installations to Ukraine.

Luxembourg joined the Drone Coalition. The Ministry of Defense expects that another 20,000 to 30,000 drones will be purchased and delivered with the funds already accumulated within the Coalition for joint procurement (€50m).

Ukraine received from UNDP 10 special cars for medics in frontline oblasts. Vehicles will act as mobile hubs, working to strengthen social resilience and well-being at the local level, as well as helping communities and their residents cope with the consequences of war.

The Czechoslovak group (CSG) agreed with the Ukrainian Armored Vehicles Ukrainian arms manufacturer on the local production of 155 mm artillery ammunition in Ukraine. They signed the relevant contract at the International Defense Industry Forum in Kyiv. Production of projectiles will begin next year. By 2026, the production volume should exceed 300,000 units per year.

Andrii Kostin, Prosecutor General of Ukraine, announced that PARE adopted a resolution on “Missing persons, prisoners of war and civilians held captive by the russian federation“.
