The occupiers are trying to retain medical personnel in the temporarily occupied territories by offering additional payments on top of salaries. However, it has turned out that these funds bypass taxation—meaning they do not count toward future pensions, paid vacations, or sick leave. You receive the money—and that’s it.

In the so-called “LNR,” pressure continues on local entrepreneurs, who are being subjected to price controls on food sales. In June alone, 29 more businesses were affected. In total, 1,561 businesses have now been subjected to this artificial pricing system.

The occupiers refer to it as “voluntary self-limitation of trade markup.” According to the occupation authorities, the difference between purchase and sale price must not exceed 5%. However, from that margin, businesses must still pay wages, taxes, rent, utilities, and cover other costs.

Notably, businesses registered in the Russian Federation are not subject to these restrictions in the occupied areas of Luhansk region.
