Border settlements suffered from artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation, in particular: Prohres in Chernihiv region; Khodyne, Bobylivka, and Boyaro-Lezhachi in Sumy region. The settlement of Khotin came under an airstrike.
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attacks, with another battle ongoing. Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has carried out four airstrikes, dropping a total of eight guided aerial bombs, and conducted 86 artillery attacks, including two using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian soldiers stopped six enemy assaults near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Kamianka, and toward Kolodyazne and Novovasylivka. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the aggressor carried out three assault actions toward Kupiansk and Bohuslavka.
In the Lyman direction, the occupying army attacked five times near Kolodyazi, Shandryholove, Torske, and toward Drobysheve. Two combat engagements are ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled three enemy attacks near Yampil and Ivano-Dariivka, with two more battles still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attempted twice to advance near Chasiv Yar and Predtechyne.
In the Toretsk direction, in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, Ivanopillia, Oleksandro-Kalynove, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka, our soldiers stopped 11 enemy offensive actions.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have made 28 attempts to push our defenders from their positions near Volodymyrivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Molodetske, Orikhove, Novoukrainka, and toward Pokrovsk and Filiia. The Defense Forces are holding back the enemy’s onslaught and have already stopped 27 attacks.
Today in the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attacked 19 times near Novokhatske, Komyshuvakha, Sosnivka, Novovasylivske, Sichneve, and Berezove. Eight combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Hulyaipole direction, four combat engagements were recorded near Poltavka, two of which are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, three combat engagements took place as the enemy attempted to advance near Pyatykhatky and Lobkove. Malokaterynivka, Hryhorivka, and Novoukrainka came under airstrikes.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, Ukrainian units repelled three enemy attacks toward the Antonivskyi Bridge.
In other directions of the front, the situation has not undergone significant changes.
A total of 185 Ukrainian prisoners of war and 20 Ukrainian civilians have been returned home. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported this, adding that everyone will be provided with the necessary assistance.
On the night of October 2, Russia attacked the territory of Ukraine with 86 strike UAVs of Shahed, “Herbera,” and other types. According to the Air Force, 53 UAVs were shot down or suppressed.

Kharkiv oblast
According to operational information from the General Staff as of 4pm, the russian Federation attacked towards Kharkiv oblast:

Andrii Kanashevych, Head of Kupiansk Regional Military Administration, said that in Velyka Shapkivka, Kindrashivka community, a man and a woman may be trapped under the rubble of a house destroyed by russian shelling on the morning of 1 October.
Over the past day, six settlements have been hit by enemy strikes. As a result of the shelling in the town of Balakliia, an 88-year-old woman was killed and 15 people were injured, specifically a 4-year-old girl who suffered an acute stress reaction.
The enemy actively used various types of weapons in Kharkiv oblast:

Civil infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:
▪️ in Kupiansk region, two private houses (Kupiansk town), two farm buildings (Blagodativka village), a private house (Velyka Shapkivka village), and an apartment building (Novoosynove village) were damaged;
▪️in Izium region, 5 apartment buildings, a non-residential building, 11 cars, a café, an administrative building, 5 shops, 2 pharmacies, a beauty salon, a dental clinic, a bakery, a post office, and a kiosk (Balakliia) were damaged; a house, and farm buildings (Pisky-Radkivski village).
Vitalii Karabanov, Head of Balakliia Military Administration, said that 12 people were injured as a result of the russian missile strike on Balakliya on the evening of 1 October. According to him, four people were hospitalised, five people received medical assistance and will undergo outpatient treatment, and three more people, including a four-year-old child, suffered acute stress reactions.

Spokeswoman Olena Klymenko informed that the Barabashovo market continues to count losses from the russian strike on the night of 1 October. According to her, entrepreneurs who wish to continue working in the market will be provided with new retail outlets.
Andrii Kanashevych, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that a 52-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were killed as an FPV drone struck towards Kupiansk on Student Street on 26 September. The information was received on 1 October.
Petro Tokar, head of the regional police stated that Kupiansk and Kharkiv are among the settlements in Kharkiv oblast that have suffered the most from shelling in 2025. In total, the police have recorded 4,039 strikes in the region since the beginning of the year.
Mayor Terekhov said that 40 residential buildings were damaged by russian strikes on Kharkiv in September 2025. According to his data, over 100 windows were closed and nine roofs repaired in an emergency during the month.
The transit evacuation point in Lozova took in 166 people in one day. 43 people remained. A total of 5,263 people have been registered at the point since it began operating.
Over 263 hectares of territory in the Kharkiv region were demined in one week. 1,606 explosive devices were defused.
With the onset of autumn cold weather, the Liubotyn SOS volunteer assistance centre has stepped up its work. Here, they make stoves and trench candles, knit and sew mittens and socks to provide the military at the front with everything they need during the cold season.
Donetsk oblast
The General Staff reported that the russian army intensified its attacks towards Toretsk over the past day. Ukrainian defence forces repelled 22 attacks in the urban areas of Toretsk, near Shcherbinivka, Pleshchiivka, Rusyne Yar and Poltavka. The day before, there were 14 assaults.
Pokrovsk axis led in the number of battles per day, with 45 attacks by the occupiers.
According to the 66th Mechanised Brigade named after Mstyslav the Brave, in the frontline Nove, a russian soldier stole food from a pensioner and tried to escape. Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers tracked down the occupier to his hiding place and destroyed him.
According to Serhii Horbunov, Head of the Military Administration, two people were injured in Kostiantynivka due to russian combined shelling. Russian troops attacked the city with guided aerial bombs and also fired on a civilian vehicle with an FPV drone.
Liakh, Head of the Military-Civilian Administration, stated that iIn the morning, the russian army shelled Sloviansk with Italmas and Molniya drones. The occupiers damaged a ceramics factory and private houses.
8 russian drones struck Kramatorsk — from the evening before and throughout the night of 2 October, the city was under drone attack. Residential high-rise buildings were hit by Molniya-2, one of the UAVs hit a road in the city centre, and five hit the territory of a motor transport enterprise.
On 1 October, the police recorded 1,957 enemy strikes on the front line and residential areas.
Nine settlements were under attack: Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Oleksievo-Druzhkivka, Zolotyi Kolodiaz, Levadne, Osykove, and Yakovlivka.
46 civilian objects were destroyed, including 27 residential buildings.

Three civilians were wounded by russians in Druzhkivka. The city was hit six times, most of which were caused by Italmas UAVs. Two apartment buildings and five private houses, an educational institution, non-residential premises, and four civilian cars were damaged.
In Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, a person was wounded and a civilian vehicle was damaged by an enemy FPV drone strike. A private house was damaged in Osykove, Druzhkivka community.
Kramatorsk was attacked by three drones, damaging two apartment buildings, five private houses, and three civilian vehicles. In Lyman, a Molniya-2 UAV strike damaged a business.
Russian troops sent 11 drones towards the Oleksandrivka community: in Yakovlivka, 11 private houses, non-residential premises, two tractors, and a civilian vehicle were damaged; in Levadne, three agricultural facilities were damaged.
Russia struck Dobropillia with a KAB-250 bomb and an FPV drone, destroying an apartment building.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that from 6 October, a 20-hour curfew will be in effect in all settlements of Druzhkivka community — from 3 pm to 11am. The “long” curfew will also be in effect in all settlements of 11 communities in Donetsk oblast and 13 towns and villages in Dobropillia, Mykolaiv, and Zvaniv communities.
Luhansk oblast
Over the past day, the enemy used barrel artillery seven times in the designated area of responsibility. In 11 cases, unmanned aerial vehicles were used to carry out combat missions. Assault operations were recorded in Hrekivka. A total of 16 attacks were carried out towards Lyman and Siversk.
In the temporarily occupied territory, it was announced that the petrol shortage would continue for another month. In August, after fuel disappeared from petrol stations, it was announced that supplies would be stabilised by 1 September, but this did not happen. The situation was explained by “temporary disruptions in logistics”. It has now been reported that a decision on how to overcome the problem is planned to be made by the end of this week, and the shortage is planned to be eliminated by the end of October. Thus, the lack of petrol in the occupied territories will last for about 2.5 months. At the same time, the russian Federation government has extended the ban on petrol exports until 31 December.
Residential buildings in 51 settlements near Siverskodonetsk, Lysychansk and Rubizhne have been without electricity for almost 3.5 years. New power lines, destroyed during the fighting, have not been restored. The restoration of critical infrastructure is linked to the need for demining of the territories, but the timing of demining has not yet been determined.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, two men were injured as a result of night and morning attacks by russian drones in Kyiv oblast.
A man in the Bucha district was injured and diagnosed with a shrapnel wound to his leg and was hospitalised at a local hospital. According to the State Emergency Service, a two-storey building of a disused sanatorium caught fire in Bucha during the night as a result of a russian UAV attack. The fire was extinguished at 02:13 on an area of 600 m².
Due to the russian attack, a private house caught fire in the Vyshhorod district in the morning. A man born in 1973 suffered first-degree burns to his hands, forehead and the inside of both feet. The victim was hospitalised at a local hospital. The house fire was extinguished.
The Ministry of Energy reported that due to russian shelling of the energy infrastructure of the city of Slavutych, the new safe confinement, which is a key facility that isolates the destroyed fourth power unit of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and prevents the release of radioactive materials into the environment, was left without power. Specialists restored power supply to the nuclear power plant facilities within three hours.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the russian military deliberately used more than 20 drones against the power facility in Slavutych, understanding the consequences for the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
As a result of the UAV strike on the power facility in Slavutych, the city was left without electricity. About 20,000 local residents remain without electricity. The RMA reported that the city has set up emergency centres equipped with everything necessary to help the population. Critical infrastructure facilities, schools, shops, pharmacies, banks, and petrol stations have been restored. Work is continuing on the launch of cogeneration plants.
The State Emergency Service informed that more than 50 rescuers worked all night in Slavutych so that the city’s residents could start their day as usual in the morning. Five pneumatic frame tents have been delivered and set up. They are equipped with Starlink systems and additional sockets for charging phones. In addition, powerful generators have been brought in to ensure the uninterrupted operation of hospitals and other social institutions.
As part of an experimental project for the comprehensive restoration of settlements affected by the russian Federation’s armed aggression, a five-storey building at 1 Parkova Street in the village of Borodianka is undergoing major repairs. Currently, specialists are installing lighting in public areas and laying paving slabs. At the same time, roof repairs are continuing and the installation of a solar panel frame has begun.
According to the Regional State Administration, coordination meetings on civil protection and emergency response cooperation were held in seven districts of the oblast.
A large-scale veterans’ forum, ‘Side by Side with Veterans,’ was held in the Kyiv oblast. The event was attended by government officials, representatives of parliament, business, the veteran community and public organisations.
The charity event ‘Road to Victory’ took place in oblast. The event brought together soldiers, volunteers, representatives of the motorcycle community and all those who support Ukrainian defenders. As part of ‘The Road to Victory,’ with the support of the German government, pick-up trucks were handed over to soldiers of the 32nd Separate Mechanised Brigade. Zhytomyr oblast
According to the Regional Military Administration, on Defenders of Ukraine Day, a solemn ceremony was held in Zhytomyr to award certificates for new housing to soldiers and their families.
On 1 October, commemorative events were held in the regional centre, during which veterans and families of fallen heroes were awarded the Zhytomyr City Council’s ‘Courage. Honour. Victory’ awards.
On 30 September, an archery competition among war veterans was held in Zhytomyr in the UTOG sports hall. The competition was attended by 31 athletes with combatant status and persons with disabilities resulting from the war.

Sumy oblast
Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that the enemy continues terror against civilians, targeting the energy sector ahead of the heating season. Due to the attacks, parts of Shostka and Konotop regions were left without power. Some critical infrastructure facilities are operating on backup supply. “Points of Invincibility” have been opened for residents to warm up, charge phones and receive basic support.
The Regional Military Administration informed that overnight, the russian army shelled Konotop, damaging civilian infrastructure, non-residential buildings, an apartment block, two private houses, a car, and an extracurricular education facility. According to Artem Semenikhin, Mayor of Konotop, railway infrastructure was also damaged.
Due to the attack, passengers in Sumy oblast were left stranded on one railway section. Authorities of Konotop and Krolevets communities organised transport to deliver residents to their destinations.
According to the State Emergency Service, on 1 October, a non-residential building caught fire in Vorozhba community after a russian strike. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and no casualties were recorded.
Between the morning of 1 October and the morning of 2 October, russian forces carried out 118 attacks on 43 settlements in 21 local communities of Sumy oblast. The largest number of strikes was recorded in Sumy, Shostka and Konotop regions. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (nearly 20 strikes), UAVs (30 strikes), multiple launch rocket systems (10 strikes), dropped VOG grenades from drones (over 10 strikes), and also carried out FPV-drone attacks.
As a result of russian attacks, three people were injured in the oblast: a 52-year-old woman in Sumy community in a drone strike; a 66-year-old woman in Bezdryk community in a UAV strike; and a 55-year-old man in Shalyhyne community in an FPV-drone strike.

Over the past day, 22 people were evacuated from border communities by local authorities together with the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and civic organisations.
Chernihiv oblast
On the evening of 1 October Chernihivoblenergo reported that in Chernihiv oblast, scheduled power outages are being introduced following strikes on energy infrastructure. The enemy hit key energy facilities, causing a systemic network failure and leaving 307,000 consumers without power across several districts. The available capacity in the power system is insufficient to restore supply to all consumers at once.
Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that throughout 1 October, russian forces attacked the Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities in Chernihiv oblast. A total of 16 strikes were recorded on five settlements. The enemy used artillery, FPV-drones, and dropped explosive devices from UAVs.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that this week, an additional UAH 40m. will be allocated from the regional budget, on top of previously disbursed funds. The money will be used to strengthen air defence units operating in the oblast, in line with their requests.
According to Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, Head of Chernihiv City Military Administration, on 2 October in Chernihiv, units of the State Emergency Service, the Municipal Guard, and utility services began setting up “Points of Invincibility” where residents can charge phones, warm up, and access water if the situation worsens. Seven such centres have already opened, with 15 more planned by the end of the day.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported that the enemy attacked Synelnykove region. UAVs targeted Pokrovske community, causing fires and damaging a private house and 2 cars. Strikes on Nikopol region continued until night and into the morning, by artillery and drones hitting the regional centre and Pokrovske community. According to updated information, yesterday’s attack on Marhanets community damaged 2 more private houses and a gas pipeline.
Nearly 15 attacks were recorded as the enemy continued to shell Nikopol region by artillery and drones, primarily targeting the regional centre, Myrove and Pokrovske communities. In Nikopol, a store and a private house were damaged. Updated reports confirm that a morning drone strike damaged an unused building in the regional centre. The russian forces attacked Synelnykove region, where UAVs targeted Mezhova community.
Vinnytsia oblast
Viacheslav Sokolovyi, Head of the RMA, stated that 3 servicemen from Vinnytsia oblast were returned to Ukraine from russian captivity. They had fought in Donetsk oblast and in Mariupol and had been held prisoner since 2022.
Kirovohrad oblast
In Kropyvnytskyi, a memorial ceremony was held for 34-year-old serviceman Dmytro Shylov, who was killed in the russian-Ukrainian war. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 21 March 2022. DNA testing later confirmed that he had been killed in battle on 23 May 2024 in Krasnohorivka city in Donetsk oblast.
Poltava oblast
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi presented the Order of the Gold Star to the wife and daughter of Lieutenant Semen Kramskyi, a native of Poltava oblast. During battle, he sustained shrapnel wounds but refused evacuation and continued leading his soldiers during the assault.
Cherkasy oblast

Zaporizhzhia oblast
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that among those released from captivity today are 17 servicemen and 2 civilians from Zaporizhzhia oblast. All of them had been in captivity since 2022. Among them is a rescuer abducted by russian forces from his own home, who spent 3 years in captivity.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Defence Forces in Orikhiv sector repelled russian assaults in Novodanylivka and in Plavni axes. In Huliaipole region, russian troops launched 5 attacks near Poltavka.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, stated that on 1 October, the russian military carried out 587 strikes on 13 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. In particular, 380 UAVs of various types (mainly FPV drones) targeted Plavni, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Poltavka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Charivne and Bilohiria.
A 73-year-old man was injured as a result of a russian attack on Vasylivka region of Zaporizhzhia oblast.
Mykolaiv oblast
According to Mykolaiv RMA, Ukrainian marines from Mykolaiv returned home from russian captivity. The servicemen will undergo medical treatment and rehabilitation.
On 1 October, no shelling was recorded in Mykolaiv oblast.
Odesa oblast
The Ukrainian Navy reported that 8 russian naval mines were destroyed near Odesa oblast today. They were torn from their positions by a storm.
Based on the information provided by the State Emergency Service, at night, russia launched a massive strike on a Ukrainian Railways depot in Odesa. A train driver and a civilian in a private house sustained shrapnel injuries. Rescuers extinguished the fire that broke out at the depot. The attack damaged the roof and windows of a private residential house.

Kherson oblast
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that among the servicemen released today are 9 defenders from Kherson oblast. The freed POWs are receiving all necessary assistance and will undergo recovery and rehabilitation.

Referring to the RMA, in the morning, russian forces shelled Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. A 20-year-old man sustained a blast injury, concussion and a head bruise.
The Southern Defence Forces reported that on 1 October, Ukrainian forces in the south destroyed 12 russian strike UAVs, 6 vehicles, an electronic warfare system, a boat and 2 communication antennas. They eliminated 73 occupiers and destroyed 23 shelters.
Ukrainian troops repelled 3 russian attacks on Prydniprovia front line during the past day.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, reported that 2 people were killed and 4 injured due to russian shelling in Kherson oblast yesterday. 10 private houses and 1 high-rise building were damaged. The russian forces shelled 30 settlements in the oblast.
According to the RMA, yesterday, in Korabelnyi district of Kherson, a russian drone attacked a car. 2 men sustained blast injuries and concussions. Today they sought medical care: 1 was hospitalised, while the other will receive outpatient treatment.

Volyn oblast
The death of Volyn defender Volodymyr Hizun, who had been missing since February 2024, has been confirmed. From the 1st days of the full-scale invasion, he went to defend Ukraine from the enemy.

946 times the air raid siren sounded in Rivne oblast since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Summing up September, we have 16 alarms (in August there were 14); simultaneously in all districts the alarm sounded 11 times; only in Sarny – twice, only in Dubny and Rivne – 1 time each; the maximum number of days without sirens was 7, which was from 20 to 28 September.
Ternopil oblast
72 defenders from Ternopil community will receive a one-time cash grant to provide them with equipment and technical means. 2,748 defenders have already received such assistance since the beginning of the year, and in 2024 – 3,198 servicemen.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi community allocated material assistance for 448 Khmelnytskyi residents for UAH 5.4 million. 53 families of fallen Heroes for UAH 960,000, 77 military personnel for rehabilitation (UAH 1.1m), 246 military personnel (over UAH 2.5m), 3 households affected by russian attacks (over UAH 200,000).
