Russian invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders. In turn, the Defence Forces of Ukraine are disrupting the enemy’s insidious plans, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment.
There were a total of 57 combat engagements since the beginning of the day.
The border settlements of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts continue to suffer from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian federation. The following settlements were shelled by enemy artillery: Volfyne, Velyka Pysarivka, Iskryskivshchyna, Porozok, Seredyna-Buda, Pervomaiske, Stepok, Obody, Bachivsk, Karapovychi, Brusky, Semianivka. The invaders launched airstrikes near Richky, Yastrubshchyna and Ulanove, dropping 9 bombs. Also, the enemy carried out five air strikes on Kursk oblast today, dropping nine KABs.
Towards Kharkiv, our defenders repelled one attack near Vovchansk. The russians also launched airstrikes on Kharkiv, Vovchansk, Velyki Prokhody, Cherkaska Lozova and Derhachi, using ten KABs.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy conducted five assault operations near Synkivka and Andriivka. Four of the engagements ended and one is ongoing. Zelenyi Hai, Lisna Stinka, and Vyshneve were attacked by UAVs, with a total of ten bombs dropped.
Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked six times near Hrekivka, Nevske, Novosadove and Torske. Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks. The enemy also conducted air strikes on Cherneshchyna and Yampolivka.
Towards Siversk, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions during the day.
Towards Kramatorsk, the invaders made two assault attacks. Ukrainian defence forces stopped one russian attack near Ivanivske, and another battle is ongoing in the area of Bila Hora. The enemy attacked Nykyforivka and Markove with aerial bombs, and the occupiers also launched multiple rocket launchers near Chasiv Yar.
Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked nine times near the settlements of Dyliivka, Toretsk, Nelipivka and Shcherbinivka. Three battles ended without success for the occupiers, six more are ongoing. Kramatorsk and Sloviansk suffered from air strikes, and the enemy also attacked Druzhba with unmanned aerial vehicles.
Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers have made 11 attempts to push our defenders from their positions near Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretske, Mykolaivka, Krutyi Yar, Novohrodivka and Selydove. The defence forces are holding back the enemy’s offensive and have repelled eight attacks, three firefights are still ongoing. The enemy’s losses are being clarified.
Towards Kurakhove, it is the hottest today as the enemy attacked 12 times near Tsukuryne, Heorhiivka, Kurakhove, Kostiantynivka and Katerynivka. Eight battles were completed, four are ongoing.
Towards Vremivka, the occupiers unsuccessfully attacked our troops’ positions near Bohoiavlenka twice. The enemy launched an airstrike near Urozhaine.
Towards Orikhiv, the enemy continues to shell the positions of our troops and civilian infrastructure, there was one firefight in the area of Kamianske, and the enemy launched an air strike with multiple rocket launchers on Mala Tokmachka.
Towards Kherson, the invaders did not conduct any offensive actions.
The situation did not change significantly in other frontline areas.
Defence Minister Rustem Umerov reported that next year, Ukraine will increase production of drones, long-range weapons and ballistic missiles. $4bn has already been invested in the development of Ukrainian industry, and next year it is planned to increase funding. The priority is to develop domestic drones and long-range weapons, including ballistic missiles. At the International Defence Industries Forum, which was attended by more than 280 companies, domestic companies signed new defence agreements with foreign companies to develop the production of ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, air and sea drones, and the repair of Western weapons.
Mykola Kuleba, Founder of Save Ukraine charity, informed that another 7 children were returned from the TOT of Kherson and Crimea. In total, 508 children were returned to the government-controlled territory, including 115 children deprived of parental care. The return was carried out by Save Ukraine in cooperation with Bring Kids Back UA.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated at the opening of the second International Defence Industries Forum that Ukraine has created a new ballistic missile. The Palianytsia missile has successfully passed flight tests.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
The Centre for Emergency and Disaster Medicine reported that the driver of an ambulance in Kupiansk suffered concussion as a result of russian shelling on the evening of 1 October and was hospitalised. According to the centre, the hit was near the unit’s location: four ambulances were damaged and a garage burned down.
Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of the CMA, informed that a 75-year-old woman suffered burns to her head and limbs as a result of a fire in Dubivka, Derhachi community, which broke out on 1 October after a shelling by the russian federation. According to him, the fire destroyed 15 houses and 3 cars.
Oleh Syniehubov, head of the RMA, said that the enemy used 16 guided aerial bombs and one FPV drone.

On 02 October at 4:42am, Kyivskyi district was shelled. The shelling destroyed 2 garages, damaged 1 garage and 3 private houses.
At 7:30am, Kupiansk was shelled. The shelling damaged a house.
At 4:25am, Derhachi of Kharkiv region was attacked. 2 garages and 2 cars were on fire. The glazing of the windows of two-storey apartment buildings, 4 cars were damaged. 5 people (including 1 child) were injured.
Also, at 4:25am, Cherkaska Lozova village of Mala Danylivka, Kharkiv region, was shelled. The grass was burning on the area of 1 hectare.
Yesterday at 8:08 pm, Kupiansk was hit. A residential building and an outbuilding were burning as a result of the shelling.
At 7pm, Kupiansk was targeted again. Two houses were shelled.
At 6:14pm, Kupiansk was hit. As a result of the shelling, the building of the ambulance station and garages were on fire. A man and a woman were injured.
At 4:20pm, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi settlement was shelled. As a result of the shelling the houses were burning.
At 4:03pm, Kupiansk was shelled. As a result of the shelling a house and a garage were burning.
At 2:20pm, Vasyltsivka village of Derhachi community, Kupiansk region, was shelled. 2 outbuildings and a garage were on fire.
At 11:50am, Bohuslavka village of Borova community, Izium region, was attacked. As a result of the shelling the forest litter on the area of 20 hectares, 4 private houses, 10 outbuildings, the club building were burning.
At 10:30am, Kindrashivka village of Kupiansk region was shelled. 4 residential buildings and 5 outbuildings were damaged.
At 10:05am, Myrne village of Kupiansk region was attacked. As a result of the shelling, grass on an area of 5 hectares burned, partially 12 private households and 8 outbuildings.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy continued offensive (assault) actions, with a total of six combat engagements taking place. The fighting took place, in particular, in the areas of Starytsia and Vovchansk.
Towards Kupiansk, there were 25 hostile attacks over the day. Defence forces repelled enemy assaults near Synkivka, Novoosynove, Kurelivka, Novoselivka, Vyshneve, Kolisnykivka, Hlushkivka and Kruhliakivka.
Donetsk oblast
The Prosecutor General’s Office said that the Security Service of Ukraine has launched an investigation into the alleged shooting of 16 Ukrainian prisoners of war towards Pokrovsk. The office added that the Ukrainian soldiers were allegedly shot near Mykolaivka and Sukhyi Yar villages in Pokrovsk region. The Prosecutor General called it “the most massive known case of execution on the front line”.
The Khortytsia operational-strategic group reported that Ukrainian units were withdrawn from Vuhledar “in order to preserve personnel and military equipment, to take up a position for further actions”.
The number of attacks towards Pokrovsk and Kurakhove was equal – 25 attacks each. The Armed Forces repelled more than 90 attacks in the east. The highest concentration of russian attacks towards Pokrovsk was near Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka and Lysivka, where russian troops actively used aviation. Towards Kurakhove, Ukrainian defence forces repelled attacks near Tsukuryne, Hirnyk, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka and Katerynivka. Towards Vremivka, according to updated information, russian troops unsuccessfully attacked Ukrainian positions in the direction of Bohoiavlenka. The General Staff did not comment on the situation in Vuhledar.
The RMA stated that due to the shelling of Pokrovsk community, 1,500 homes were left without electricity. Residents of Kotlyne (partially), Novooleksandrivka, Vovkove, Solone, Novovasylivka and Uspenivka villages were left without electricity.
Oleksandr Honcharenko, Head of the CMA, said that the russian army shelled Kramatorsk in the afternoon of 2 October and wounded one person. He specified that there were three explosions in Kramatorsk at 11am. A garage cooperative, a non-operational infrastructure enterprise, a social infrastructure facility, and private houses were damaged. A 54-year-old man sustained multiple shrapnel wounds and was hospitalised.
Horbunov, Head of the RMA, added that two people were wounded in Kostiantynivka during russian shelling around 10:30am. Five hits were recorded in the city, and the facades of high-rise buildings, cars and power grids were damaged.
The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 2 October:
Pokrovsk region. Kurakhove, Hirnyk, Kurakhivka, Hostre, Ostrivske, Novoselydivka and Izmailivka are under constant shelling. In Chernihivka of Dobropillia community, 2 people were wounded and the enterprise damaged. In Myrnohrad, 6 houses, a shop and an infrastructure facility were damaged. In Pokrovsk 3 houses were destroyed, 11 were damaged. The settlements of Hrodivka and Marinka communities were shelled.
Kramatorsk region. A person was wounded, a social facility was destroyed, 3 infrastructure facilities and 2 retail outlets damaged in Sloviansk. A house was damaged in Druzhkivka. An educational institution was damaged in Kostiantynivka and a house in Mykolaivka. In Dovha Balka of Illinivka community 2 people were wounded and 4 objects damaged.
Bakhmut region. A house was damaged in Siversk. In Chasiv Yar community, 13 private houses, an apartment building and 2 industrial buildings were damaged.
In total, the russians fired 13 times at the settlements of Donetsk oblast. 739 people were evacuated, including 42 children.
Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday 5 civilians were wounded: 2 in Chernihivka, 2 in Dovha Balka, 1 in Sloviansk.
Luhansk oblast
Ukrainian troops are bravely repelling enemy attacks in Luhansk oblast, towards Kupiansk it’s near Stelmakhivka. Towards Lyman, the epicentres of fighting are Hrekivka, Balka Zhuravka and Serebrianka forest.
In an attempt to break through our defences, the invaders are using all available weapons. For example, they fired at Zhuravka Balka with cannon and rocket artillery and sent 38 drones towards our fortifications.
Luhansk Regional Military Administration reported that the kremlin announced the autumn conscription from 1 October. In the occupied territories, this is the usual legalisation of forced mobilisation.
Intensified checks of men have already begun. Thus, on the roads around Luhansk, every car or bus is stopped, demanding to see a military ID card with an updated registration mark.
Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, informed that in Siverskodonetsk, the invaders have limited the work of kindergartens to two hours a day. In the absence of regular public transport, travelling with a small child to and from kindergarten takes about as long as staying there.
Head Roman Vlasenko said that in the towns of Siverskodonetsk region, except for Siverskodonetsk, centralised heating is not expected to be available again. Siverskodonetsk also has significant problems with preparations. In the occupied settlements located closer to the frontline, food prices are higher than in russia.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
The President’s Office announced that the second International Defence Industries Forum took place in Kyiv, gathering representatives of more than 30 countries and nearly three hundred companies from Ukraine and abroad. As part of the forum, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with CEOs and top managers of defence companies from partner countries.
Oleksandr Urin, acting CEO of Okhmatdyt, informed that the Children’s Specialised Hospital Okhmatdyt has announced a tender for emergency repairs to the building that was damaged on 8 July 2024 as a result of a russian missile attack on Kyiv. The expected value of the procurement is over UAH 9.5m. The emergency repairs are expected to protect the hospital’s diagnostic building for the winter period. The doctors will continue to provide medical care in the building during the repair.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko reported that Kyiv had sent another batch of aid to the soldiers of three brigades in Kharkiv sector. The necessary equipment was purchased with non-budgetary funds. In particular, the defenders will receive 100 night FPV drones, 5 Mavic UAVs, two repair vehicles, 5 electronic warfare systems, two generators and Starlink.
Kyiv Regional Military Administration is actively working to establish new partnerships with the regions of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Italy. According to the RMA, the Ile-de-France region has already donated more than 7,000 tablets and a large number of furniture and accessories to oblast’s needs. The Central Bohemian Region (Czech Republic) has donated 12 school buses to educational institutions and hosted 94 children for holidays.
Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn reported that Mykhailo Matselyk, a 23-year-old teacher at the Irpin Professional College of Economics and Law, was killed on the battlefield. After mobilisation and military training, he was appointed company commander of a tank battalion of the 4th Rubizh operational brigade of the National Guard. On 29 September, the young soldier Mykhailo Matselyk was killed while performing a combat mission in the village of Makiivka, Luhansk oblast. He will be buried in Irpin on the Alley of Memory of the Defenders of Ukraine.
In Kyiv, a commemorative event called ‘I Stand For’ was held in memory of the fallen defenders. On the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, people were asked to spend just one minute in remembrance and then a whole day to show gratitude and support for the Armed Forces. The event brought together a lot of people, each of whom had their own losses.

A new youth space and a race dedicated to the Heroes were opened in the village of Borova on the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The youth space is the 39th location for young people in Kyiv oblast.
Zhytomyr oblast
The RMA reported that certificates for housing purchase were handed over to veterans and combatants from Zhytomyr oblast. The certificates were given to 97 families, and another 46 families will be able to exercise their right to own a home by the end of November. In 2024, Zhytomyr oblast is to receive UAH 354.3m from the state budget to pay financial compensation for the purchase of housing to 171 families of war veterans.
Anastasiia Batyrieva, coordinator of mobile medical teams in Zhytomyr oblast, said that more than 2,800 residents of northern communities have been able to receive medical consultations thanks to the introduction of mobile medical teams. Since January 2024, mobile teams have visited 112 settlements. The project was launched to restore access to medical and social and psychological services for residents of Olevsk, Narodychi and Slovechne communities.
For two days, the Intercession Fair was held at Lyceum №24 in Zhytomyr, during which students raised almost UAH 218,000 for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Such fairs for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are traditionally held at the lyceum and initiated by members of the student self-government.
Sumy oblast
During night and morning, russians carried out 14 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 20 explosions. The attacks targeted Sumy, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Richky communities, Shostka region.
During the day, on 1 October, russians carried out 39 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 45 explosions. The attacks targeted Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Slobidka, Hlukhiv, Shalyhyne, Esman, Svesa, Seredyna-Buda communities.
Krasnopillia community: a strike was carried out by a Lancet barrage munition (1 explosion), a VOG drop from a UAV (2 explosions), strikes by FPV drones (2 explosions).
Svesa community: the enemy fired by mortars (2 explosions).
Esman community: airstrikes by GAB (9 explosions), FPV drone strike (1 explosion) was recorded. One civilian was killed and three civilians were injured as a result of shelling of the GAB.
Velyka Pysarivka community: struck by FPV drones (5 explosions), launch of an anti-aircraft missile from a helicopter (4 explosions), dropping of a VOG from a UAV (2 explosions).
Bilopillia community: airstrikes by GAB (2 explosions), FPV drone strike (1 explosion), VOG drop from UAV (1 explosion), mortar shelling (1 explosion).
Seredyna-Buda community: there was an attack by FPV drones (3 explosions).
Shalyhyne community: the russians dropped 2 mines on the territory of the community.
Hlukhiv community: airstrikes by GAB (3 explosions).
Nova Slobidka community: an airstrike by GAB (1 explosion), strikes by FPV drones (2 explosions).
Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that this year, local businesses have provided support to military formations amounting to over UAH 17m. Thanks to the cooperation between active businesses in Sumy oblast and the RMA, equipment such as electronic warfare systems, drones, mobile command units, anti-aircraft machine gun groups, SUVs, ATVs, generators, Starlink systems, charging stations, surveillance cameras, and more were purchased for security and defence units in 2024.
As a result of the russian army’s strike on energy facilities in Sumy oblast on 1 October at 9:49pm, more than 86,000 consumer accounts in Shostka region were left without power. According to Sumy RMA, as of the morning of 2 October, over 82,000 consumers in this region remain temporarily without electricity. Overall, due to russian military aggression against Ukraine, nearly 90,000 consumers across Sumy oblast are still without electricity as of the morning of 2 October.
Chernihiv oblast
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported that as a result of a russian attack on two border communities in Chernihiv oblast on 1 October, fires broke out in farm buildings, a forest, a residential house along with a car, and a non-operational farm. Another vehicle and a tractor were also damaged. In three villages of Semenivka community, one residential house and a car were completely destroyed by fire, while two other homes and a non-operational farm sustained significant damage. A tractor and another vehicle were also damaged.
During the day, russian forces attacked eight villages in two border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities The fire was carried out using mortars, MLPS, a tank and barrel artillery, also using UAVs and FPV-drones. A total of 49 explosions were reported.
Hovhorod-Siverskyi community:
Towards Hai village: 4 hits, likely by 120mm mortar and one hit by FPV-drone;
Towards Poliushkyne village: 6 hits, likely by barrel artillery. As a result of the shelling, a residential building caught fire.
Semenivka community:
Towards Semenivka city: nine hits, likely by MLRS;
Towards Yanzhulivka village: two hits by FPV-drones, three hits by tank and nine hits, likely by 120mm mortar.
As a result of the shelling, two outbuildings caught fire.
Towards Leonivka village: one hit by a FPV-drone;
Towards Khotiivka village: eight hits, likely by barrel artillery;
Towards Mkhy village: three hits by FPV-drones;
Towards Halahanivka: two hits, likely by 82mm mortar and one explosion – dropping ammunition from an unmanned aerial vehicle.
No casualties or injuries among the local population were reported as a result of the shelling.
Chernihiv RMA reported that they signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Swiss Foundation for Technical Development Cooperation “Swisscontact”. This document envisages the provision of advisory assistance and training to women engaged in entrepreneurial activities in the field of cattle breeding. During the full-scale invasion, 75 agricultural enterprises of Chernihiv oblast suffered losses. In figures – UAH 2.4bn. And these indicators are constantly growing due to the aggression of the russian federation.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
In the evening, on 1 October, the occupiers continued to attack Nikopol. They used kamikaze drones and artillery. The infrastructure was damaged. Later in the night, they fired on the Marhanets community and attacked the regional centre once again. There were no casualties.
The occupiers are terrorising Nikopol region. In the morning, on 2 October, two men aged 69 and 89 were injured in Marhanets community as a result of enemy shelling. The enemy fired with artillery and kamikaze drones at the district centre, Marhanets and Myrove communities. There were two fires. A transport company was damaged, a private house and a garage were destroyed. Another 4 private houses, the same number of outbuildings, a greenhouse, infrastructure and power lines were affected. The enemy also attacked Sinelnykove region with a kamikaze drone. A private house was damaged.There were no casualties.
Vinnytsia oblast
It has become known that seven defenders from the Vinnytsia oblast were killed. They are Volodymyr Tkach, Artur Lysyi, Andrii Katruk, Ivan Dumych, Roman Paladii, Oleksandr Bondarchuk and Andrii Zastup.
Memorial plaques were unveiled in three Vinnytsia lyceums in honour of the fallen graduates. These are lyceums 13, 29 and 32. The memorials were created based on the idea of the winner of the All-Ukrainian blitz competition. Subsequently, the concept was supported by Vinnytsia residents in an online vote.
Mayor Serhii Morhunov announced that educational institutions in Vinnytsia oblast received generators. These are 15 generators provided by the European Union. Each generator has a capacity of 10 to 50kW, depending on the needs of the institution.
Kirovohrad oblast
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, has awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Ihor Zamotskyi, a serviceman of the 3rd Sviatoslav the Brave Regiment. The defender was killed on 8 June 2023 in Donetsk oblast. During the assault, he covered his comrades-in-arms, saving their lives.
Two defenders from Kirovohrad oblast were killed in the war with russia.
One was Mykhailo Korytko from the Novomyrhorod community, who died on 28 September 2024 in Kharkiv oblast during a russian shelling. He was 32 years old. And Hryhorii Sydorenko from Kropyvnytskyi, who died on 29 September 2024 near the town of Ukrainsk, Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast. He was 37 years old.
Poltava oblast
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, has awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Poltava oblast soldier Oleksandr Krokovets. He also recognised Poltava rescuers Yaroslav Horkun, Mykola Porovyi and Oleksandr Lysenko.
The alley in memory of the fallen soldiers was opened in the centre of the village of Sencha. It was opened on 1 October on the occasion of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The banners feature portraits of 18 soldiers who died defending Ukraine. Each banner is double-sided, with photos and names of the soldiers.
Cherkasy oblast
According to Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, during a night-time alert, Ukrainian defenders destroyed an enemy UAV in Cherkasy oblast. There were no casualties. However, the debris damaged a power line, as well as several neighbouring houses and an outbuilding.
In Uman, a defender Yevhen Khlystun, who fell in the war, was laid to rest. He was killed in the Donetsk oblast.
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, said that a shipment of aid was delivered to the defenders of Ukraine in Cherkasy oblast. It was sent to the 118th Tank Brigade and several other units. Everything was formed according to requests from the soldiers. Two anti-drone systems and a repeater, 22 charging stations of various modifications. We also took care of household needs. Almost 1,000 field beds. Everything was purchased at the expense of the regional budget under the relevant programme. In total, almost UAH 4 million.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Yesterday, the occupiers launched 255 strikes on 13 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted 13 airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia, Lobkove, Shcherbaky, Orikhiv, Temyrivka, and Novodarivka. A total of 119 drones of various modifications attacked Lobkove, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Levadne. Eight MLRS strikes hit Robotyne, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, and Mala Tokmachka. Additionally, 115 artillery shellings targeted Chervonodniprovka, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Levadne. There were 225 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure. Thirty-six people were injured due to russian aggression.
Yesterday, on 1 October, the russian army launched a massive attack on Zaporizhzhia. One person was killed, and 35 were injured, including three children. Preliminary reports indicate that 200 homes were damaged. An apartment building and private houses were partially destroyed. The blast wave and debris damaged infrastructure facilities, educational institutions, nearby apartment buildings, homes, stores, garages, and vehicles. The State Environmental Inspectorate reported that over 4,000 sq m were polluted as a result of the russian shelling.

Yesterday the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions seven times near Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaky, and Kamianske towards Orikhiv.
Mykolaiv oblast
Yesterday, on 1 October, at 2:17pm, and again last night at 3:36sm, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community with FPV-type drones. There were no casualties.
On Wednesday, 2 October, Mykolaiv region received 43 powerful generators, which will be distributed among social institutions, educational facilities, healthcare institutions, sports centres, and critical infrastructure facilities. The generators were provided as humanitarian aid to ensure stable passage through the autumn-winter period of 2024-2025. This aid is the result of successful cooperation between the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and local government authorities.
Odesa oblast
At dawn, the enemy attacked Izmail region with strike drones. The russians targeted port and border infrastructure. Two men, truck drivers, were injured. A fire broke out as a result of the attack. Operations at the “Orlivka” checkpoint have been temporarily suspended due to the shelling, and measures are being taken to stabilise its functioning.

Law enforcement launched an investigation into the attack on the port and border infrastructure of the Danube region in Odesa. The case was opened under the article “Violation of the laws and customs of war.”
As of the morning of 2 October, there was one enemy ship in the Black Sea, which is a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo capacity of up to 4 missiles. There were 2 carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles in the Mediterranean Sea with a total salvo capacity of up to 24 missiles.
Kherson oblast
On 2 October, an elderly resident of Kherson was killed as a result of russian artillery shelling. At the moment of the strike, the man was riding a bicycle through the city. He suffered fatal injuries due to the detonation of a russian shell.
Today, russian forces attacked a car Dniprovskyi district in Kherson with a drone. Two men were injured, both suffering from blast injuries and concussions.
Around 2pm, the occupiers dropped explosives from a drone on a 61-year-old woman who was on the street in Antonivka. She sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to her arm and leg. In the morning, russians attacked a bus in Antonivka with a drone. One woman was killed, and another sustained a blast injury. Additionally, an 80-year-old woman from Antonivka was injured by an explosive dropped from a drone while she was outside. She was taken to the hospital with blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to her legs.
Yesterday, the enemy attacked Antonivka, Stanislav, Veletenske, Shyroka Balka, Tokarivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Kizomys, Dariivka, Tomyna Balka, Pervomaiske, Beryslav, Sablukivka, and the city of Kherson. russian forces targeted an educational institution, a pharmacy, and a church, as well as residential areas, including apartment buildings and 20 private homes. The occupiers also damaged a gas pipeline, a utility building, and a private vehicle. Six people were killed, and 11 were injured due to russian aggression.
Last week, a team of volunteer doctors from the Fortitude UA charitable foundation visited Sadok, Kucherske, Borozenke, Nova Kuban, Charivne, Stiike, and Mala Oleksandrivka. Patients had the opportunity to consult with family doctors, neurologists, ophthalmologists, endocrinologists, and cardiologists. Specialists also performed necessary examinations, including electrocardiograms, ultrasounds of internal organs, and laboratory tests. In total, more than 680 residents received medical assistance.
Employees of Kherson Art Museum identified a painting stolen by russian forces, “Portrait of Artist V. Maks” by Oleksandr Rusakov. This is the second work by the artist to be illegally taken to Crimea.

The RMA held a meeting with Ricardo Lopez-Aranda Hagu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine. They discussed support for Ukraine, specifically, support for the energy sector.
Lviv City Council held a meeting with Martin Harris, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Ukraine. They discussed preparing the city for winter, the integration of IDPs and strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian and British cities.
A horse ride was organised for military personnel in Lviv oblast thanks to the Hiking Therapy project. Participants travelled to the Skarbova Hora ranch, in the village of Lopushna, limits of Lviv Opilia. 13 people took part in the walk. These are military personnel, including people in wheelchairs, undergoing rehabilitation at the Superhumans Center.
In the village of Spas Kamianka-Buzka community, the opening of the Alley of memory to fallen soldiers, who were natives and residents of this village, took place. The Alley immortalises the names of Bohdan Nos, Roman Zadorozhnyi, Ihor Zakharko and Petro Bilous. Relatives of the fallen, representatives of the authorities, clergy and the public joined in arranging the memorial site. Participants honoured victims with a moment of silence, laid flowers and lit lamps.
A memorial plaque was opened in Sambir region in memory of Lt. Col. Valerii Matviychuk. He defended the eastern borders of Ukraine as part of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade. On 22 September, 2022, while performing a combat mission in eastern Ukraine, he was mortally wounded. For his heroism, he was posthumously awarded the 3rd degree For Courage Order.
Rivne oblast
In Rivne oblast, the living conditions of children who were forcibly relocated to communities of the oblast and now live in compact housing will be monitored. For this purpose, a special working group is being created with the participation of specialists from the Children’s Affairs Service. Along with living conditions, the availability of medical care and education for families of IDPs with children will also be checked.
In 4 hospitals of Rivne oblast, shelters have been set up. 2 more are on standby. Construction work has begun on the arrangement of shelters in the regional adult and children’s hospitals, as well as in Rivne city and Ostrozka Hospitals. In addition, the overhaul of storage facilities in Zdolbunov and Demydivka hospitals will start in the near future. The state budget allocated over UAH 60m for this, and another UAH 20m was spent on local budgets. The works are planned to be completed by the end of the year.
Ternopil oblast
The RMA held a meeting with Oleksandr Shlamp, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Chernivtsi. They discussed the development and expansion of international activities, economic and cultural cooperation between Ternopil oblast and the Federal Republic of Germany.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
In Khmelnytskyi oblast, a forum dedicated to today’s current issues was held under the title Modern Veteran Policy. The platform for communication brought together representatives of the public policy sector, executive power, people’s deputies, business, the public and local self-government around a common theme.
Chernivtsi oblast
The oblast sent 40 GoPro cameras and 3 DJI Mavic quadcopters to the 107th Separate Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and mobile fire groups of the oblast.
The Les Résistantes de l’Ombre exhibition will be held in Mediatheque Jacques Bomel, which will tell about the struggle of Ukrainian women during the war. Visitors will be able to see works of photographer Mykola Hnidko. International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Lithuania and Sweden will provide Ukraine with demining equipment for €22m. The coalition of demining capabilities agreed to purchase pickup trucks and trucks for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service. Lithuania will allocate €15m and Sweden €7m.
The German Embassy in Ukraine reported that the country will send 6 large electricity generators to Ukraine in preparation for a difficult winter. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Heads and top managers of the world’s leading defence companies within the framework of the 2nd International Forum of Defense Industries. This large-scale event brought together over 30 countries, almost 300 companies and hundreds of participants. They discussed expanding cooperation to strengthen the Ukrainian defence sector.
Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, took part in the 3d meeting of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. Participants of the meeting discussed results of the coalition’s activities over the past 6 months. In addition, the member states presented projects to support Ukraine in the return and reintegration of children.

CinEast Festival is an annual non-commercial film festival dedicated to the current film production of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
