War in Ukraine today: latest news, 01 November, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 982th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

On 1 November, there were 74 combat engagements in the frontline. Ukrainian defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the line and disrupting the russians’ plans. At the same time, the occupiers continue to be active towards Pokrovsk, Kurakhove and Lyman.

The border areas of Sumy oblast continued to suffer from russian airstrikes. In particular, the terrorists attacked Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka and Zhuravka with guided aerial bombs, dropping eight unmanned aerial vehicles. A number of settlements in Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts, including Verkhnia Poznia, Tymofiivka, Pavlivka, Rohizne, Novenke, Basivka and Pokrovka, were hit. The enemy also carried out 22 airstrikes using 27 KABs in Kursk oblast of the russian federation.

Towards Kharkiv, the occupiers dropped two aerial bombs in the vicinity of Derhachi.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy tried to advance to Ukrainian positions near Petropavlivka and Lozova twice during the day. A battle is ongoing near Lozova.

The aggressor increased the number of attacks to 12 towards Lyman. He attacked the vicinity of Druzheliubivka, Katerynivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terny and in Serebrianka forest. Four combat engagements are ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, Ukrainian defenders repelled one attack near Stupochky.

Towards Toretsk, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions, but launched airstrikes in the vicinity of Toretsk, Petrivka and Kostiantynivka, dropping eight UAVs.

The enemy is still active towards Pokrovsk. Clashes of varying intensity started 21 times. Attacks were repelled in the vicinity of Sukha Balka, Miroliubivka, Mykolaivka, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Novohrodivka and Selydove. Currently, two battles are still ongoing in the vicinity of Vyshneve.

Fighting continues towards Kurakhove. Near Ostrovske, Illinka, Novoselidivka, Kreminna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Vovchenka, Maksymilianivka, Dalne, Antonivka and Katerynivka, 24 combat engagements took place during the day, 13 attacks are ongoing.

Towards Vremivka, the aggressor attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders once near Trudove.

Towards Orikhiv, the occupiers did not conduct any offensive actions, but launched ten airstrikes on Novoandriivka.

The situation towards Kherson remained unchanged. The enemy conducted three unsuccessful assaults.

In other sectors, there were no significant changes in the situation.


Ukrainian troops are controlling the situation and depleting the enemy along the entire frontline and in the rear.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation, informs that Ukraine is launching a 5G pilot project in three cities. The project will last two years in two stages and cover three cities. 

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Economy is launching a beta version of an online procedure for extending the deadlines for foreign currency payments in international trade. The full launch is scheduled for December 2024.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The General Staff’s report that the russian army is storming Antonivka and Yelyzavetivka south of Kurakhove. The occupiers have increased the number of attacks in this area – 60 assaults on 31 October, and the day before there were 41 attacks.  

There were more attacks towards Pokrovsk. In this section of the frontline, the occupying army attacked Ukrainian positions near Promin, Lysivka and Vyshneve 35 times.  

The number of attacks towards Lyman has also almost doubled. The occupiers attacked 21 times near Katerynivka, Stepove, Hrekivka, Terny and in Serebrianka forest.  

Anastasia Bobovnikova, spokesperson for Luhansk military operation, russian occupiers have reduced the number of attacks in eastern Ukraine, but they are actively amassing new forces, equipment and ammunition. There is a possibility that the number of clashes will increase after they complete their preparations.

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff reports that towards Kharkiv, the occupiers dropped two bombs near Derhachi.

Towards Kupiansk, a battle continues near Lozova. russians have twice tried to advance to Ukrainian positions near Petropavlivka and Lozova.

Towards Lyman, russian troops attacked the area 12 times, in particular near Druzheliubivka. Four firefights are currently ongoing

At 16:05, russians fired two missiles at the police station in the centre of Kharkiv.  Ivan Vyhivskyi, Head of the National Police of Ukraine, says that police Colonel Andrii Matviienko was killed. Another 26 police officers and four civilians were wounded. Among the civilians are three women and one man, all in light and moderate condition.  The enemy preliminarily used S-300 missiles. An administrative building and 20 residential private and apartment buildings were damaged.

At 02:40, russians attacked Bilashi village, Kharkiv region. An unmanned aerial vehicle struck an open area.

The day before, at 21:21, russians attacked Kyivskyi district in Kharkiv, damaging a private house and 3 cars.  A 37-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were injured.

At 21:05, russians attacked Derhachi, Kharkiv region. The roof of a 2-storey building caught fire as a result of the shelling. A 39-year-old man, a 42-year-old man, and a 64-year-old man were injured.

At 15:00, russians attacked Kupiansk. A 75-year-old man was killed as a result of the shelling.

At 12:13, russians attacked Kucherivka village, Kupiansk region. A 42-year-old civilian man was injured.

According to Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of Kharkiv police, the man found under the rubble of a house on Neskorenykh Street in Kharkiv on October 31 was identified: he was 29 years old and his relatives live abroad. 

According to Olena Shapoval, Spokeswoman of the RMA, a 36-year-old woman who was in serious condition after a russian missile hit a house in Saltivka on October 30 underwent surgery, her condition is stable and she is in intensive care under medical supervision.  The 11-year-old boy has positive dynamics, he is in moderate condition, like the other hospitalized patients.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy attacked three times towards Vovchansk and Vovchanski Khutory.

Towards Kupiansk, the occupiers attacked 15 times. Defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Lozova, Berestove and Vyshneve.

91 people (including 1 child) were evacuated from Kupiansk and Borova. Currently, 4400 people remain in Kupiansk community.

Compensation for damaged housing in Kharkiv oblast has exceeded UAH 2.6 billion under the eRestoration state program. 25,330 applications for financial assistance to repair damaged housing have been accepted and provided with payments of more than UAH 2.6 billion. As of today, 36 communities in the region have received 3,517 certificates for compensation for destroyed property worth more than UAH 4.8 billion. So far, 847 apartments and houses have been purchased in Kharkiv oblast.

Donetsk oblast

According to Maksym Bilousov, Spokesman for Ingulets, the 60th separate mechanized  brigade, the  russian army wants to seize Lyman to reach Sloviansk through Raihorodok. To do this, russian troops have increased the number of assaults and redeployed more trained units towards Lyman.  

Velyka Novosilka RMA reported that russians shelled Oleksiivka with six missiles from Uragan MRLSs. The strike damaged seven buildings and five vehicles. There are no casualties.  

Police recorded 2,682 enemy attacks along the frontline and in the residential sector. Two residents of Donetsk oblast were injured.

Eight settlements were hit, including Kramatorsk, Kurakhove, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk, Donetske settlement, Dronivka, Zhovte and Romanivka villages. 17 civilian objects were damaged, including 6 residential buildings.

 Kurakhove was shelled with artillery, wounding a civilian and damaging a private house.

 Dronivka was struck with artillery, injuring a civilian and damaging a private house.

The occupiers attacked Kramatorsk with two missiles launched from the S-300 system – there is damage to an industrial facility.

Sloviansk was attacked with three S-300 missiles and a FAB-250 bomb with an UMPK module, damaging four private houses, a business, and two tractors.

Donetske was hit with an S-300, damaging a medical facility and an enterprise.

It is reported that russian troops dropped a FAB-250 with a UMPK module on Romanivka, damaging a farm.

In Zhovte, a civilian car was damaged by an enemy drone strike.

Over 2,000 patient declarations were signed by doctors of outpatient clinic No. 9 in Toretsk during the first month of operation in Dnipro. This is the only outpatient clinic from Toretsk that has opened and is now operating in Dnipro. The doctors treat both patients from Toretsk community who have moved to Dnipro and Dnipro residents.

Less than 150 people live six kilometers from the front line in the frontline village of Novodmytrivka in Kostiantynivka community in Donetsk oblast. They keep cattle, work in their gardens and have no intention of leaving their homes. 

In Donetsk oblast, a stele has been erected in honour of the Hero of Ukraine, battalion commander and volunteer Dmytro Kotsiubailo, nicknamed “Da Vinci,” who was killed in March 2023 near Bakhmut. He would have turned 29 on November 1.

A bronze sculpture of the “Search!” project was unveiled at Kyiv Central Railway Station. The sculpture is dedicated to Ukrainians returning home. One of the characters is a military man with his wife, who came to Kramatorsk by train, and a family from Mariupol.

Luhansk oblast

It is reported that russians attempted to shell Makiivka and Balka Zhuravka with heavy artillery, damaging infrastructure and buildings. The enemy also launched 20 drones, 15 of which attacked Makiivka.

In Luhansk, russian military infrastructure facilities were damaged by Ukrainian forces the day before.

Due to the enemy actions,  the environment of Luhansk has suffered losses worth UAH 600 billion.

In the occupied Sieverskodonetsk, russians suppress mobile communication, making it difficult to access communication even on the roofs of high-rise buildings, which locals use in emergency situations. Only representatives of the occupation administration have access to the mobile network.

Starting in January 2026, it will become even more difficult for residents of the so-called “luhansk people’s republic” to visit a doctor: they will need to have a russian passport and an insurance policy. Medical services without insurance will be available only in emergency cases.

The occupiers are trying to restore the heating system in Siverskodonetsk, but due to a lack of resources, local residents are preparing for a winter without heat.

Starobilsk cadet corps plans to increase the number of children from 100 to 500. The occupation authorities are expanding the training of children for military purposes.

In schools of the so-called “lpr”, children make trench candles for the russian army.

The occupiers continue to dismantle mining equipment in the “lpr”, which worsens the economic situation in the region.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the RMA, reported that 2 private houses were damaged as a result of the fall of debris from downed enemy targets in one of the districts of Kyiv oblast. The damage is minor – windows were smashed, facades and roofs were damaged. There were no civilian casualties.

USAID continues to provide support to rebuild the district court in Borodyanka, which was destroyed by russian aircraft in the first days of the full-scale invasion. The USAID Justice for All Program presented the design of the new court building. The building is designed according to the concept of ‘justice as a service’.

The KPI will cooperate with the Dutch company Gyromotics, which manufactures individual high-tech foot prostheses for adults and children. The company wants to cooperate with rehabilitation centres, hospitals and universities to help Ukraine improve in the field of lower limb prosthetics.

Kyiv honoured the memory of Dmytro ‘Da Vinci’ Kotsiubailo, who is buried at Askold’s Grave. The fallen soldier would have turned 29 years old. Dmytro went to war at the age of 18, immediately after the Revolution of Dignity. In 2014, he was seriously wounded, but returned to the front after recovering. For eight years, he prepared for the war himself and trained others. On 30 November 2021, Dmytro was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. Da Vinci was killed on 7 March 2023 near Bakhmut.

On 31 October, a funeral service for Ildar Dadin, a fighter of the russian Freedom Legion who fought on the side of Ukraine against russia, was held at Baikove Cemetery in Kyiv. The man was killed in action in Kharkiv oblast in early October. Since 2023, he participated in a number of operations in Donetsk and Kharkiv oblasts, as well as in a limited military operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kursk oblast.

A bronze sculpture dedicated to the theme of Ukrainians returning home was unveiled at Kyiv Central Railway Station. It depicts two trains arriving at the station’s first platform: one with soldiers from Kramatorsk and the other from abroad. The mini-sculpture was installed as part of the project, which tells the story of Kyiv and encourages people to learn about the capital’s history without a guide.

Zhytomyr oblast

Four lyceums in Zhytomyr and one in the regional centre will receive almost UAH 300,000 each to prepare for the winter. In total, UNICEF will allocate more than UAH 203 million for 700 Ukrainian schools. The funds are provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development through the German Development Bank (KFW). The schools will be able to use the funds for heating, insulation, replacement of windows and doors, purchase, installation and repair of electricity and heat generating equipment.

A renovated centre for comprehensive rehabilitation for children with disabilities of Zhviahel City Council has been launched in Zhviahel. The medical facility provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to children with disabilities and special needs aimed at the all-round development of children and their integration into society.

Sumy oblast

According to Iryna Yukhta, Acting Head of Krasnopillia Community, on the evening of 31 October, russian forces struck the settlement of Krasnopillia in Sumy oblast by two guided aerial bombs (GABs). The attack damaged seven non-residential buildings, an administrative building, two stores, two two-story apartment buildings, and five households in the Krasnopillia Community. Two people were reported injured.

During night and morning, russians carried out 4 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 6 explosions. The attacks targeted Krasnopillia and Velyka Pysarivka communities.

During the day, on 31 October, russians carried out 49 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 82 explosions. The attacks targeted Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Myropilia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhyne, Esman, Seredyna-Buda, Druzhbivka, and Svesa communities.

Svesa community: the enemy hit by artillery (2 explosions) and mortars (2 explosions). 

Shalyhyne community: russians dropped 5 mines on the territory of the community. Also they carried out FPV-drones attacks (7 explosions).

Yunakivka community: artillery shelling from the territory of the russian federation (11 explosions).  

Bilopillia community: the enemy dropped 15 mines on the territory of the community. Also russians attacked by artillery (2 explosions) and FPV-drone (1 explosion), as a result of the attack private residence was damaged. 

Myropilia community: an airstrike by GAB (1 explosion).

Velyka Pysarivka community: dropping of explosive devices from UAVs (4 explosions), shelling by FPV-drones (2 explosions).

Krasnopillia community: the enemy carried out dropping of explosive devices from UAVs (2 explosions), mortar fire (4 explosions), an airstrike by GAB (3 explosions) from territory of rf.

Esman community: an attack by FPV-drones (2 explosions), artillery shelling (1 explosion) were recorded. 

Seredyna-Buda community: attacks by FPV-drones (11 explosions), as a result a non-residential building was damaged. There was also mortar shelling (4 explosions).

Khotin community: strikes by FPV-drones (2 explosions).

Druzhbivka community: a strike by FPV-drone (1 explosion).

As reported by the local utility company, due to russian shelling, 159 consumers were without gas in Khotin community. The gas pipeline was damaged in the villages of Bilovody and Vodolahy.

Chernihiv oblast

Throughout the day, the russian army attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast. The enemy used mortars, barrel artillery, drones and FPV-drones.

Novhorod-Siverskyi community:

  • Mychalchyna Sloboda: 1 explosion, likely, dropping from UAVs.

Semenivka community:

  • Mchy: one explosion, likely by FPV-drone;
  • Bleshnia: seven explosions, likely by 152mm barrel artillery;
  • Leonivka: five explosions, likely by 120mm mortar;
  • Kostobobriv: one explosion, likely by Shahed-type UAV.

Snovsk community:

  • Hirsk: 13 explosions, likely by barrel artillery.

Horodnia community:

  • Senkivka: 17 explosions, likely by 120mm mortar, three explosions, likely dropping of explosive device from UAVs, 29 explosions, likely by AGS (automatic grenade launchers).

No casualties or injuries among the local population were reported as a result of the shelling.

Chernihiv regional police reported that in Chernihiv oblast, remnants of a downed russian Kh-59 missile with a cluster warhead were discovered. The missile’s submunitions were scattered across a field. Police explosive technicians collected and destroyed the missile and its submunitions through a controlled detonation.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk City Council, said that on 1 November, the occupiers attacked Nikopol region. The enemy fired with artillery, kamikaze drones and MLRS. They targeted the district centre, Myrove, Pokrovsk and Marhanets communities. A private house and an outbuilding were damaged, a domestic animal was killed, and a power line was hit. The aggressor used a drone to attack Zelenodolsk community of Kryvyi Rih region.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, said that the Air Force was alert in Kirovohrad oblast at night. 

Poltava oblast

Seven multi-storey buildings and three private houses were damaged as a result of a Shahed attack in one of the regions of Poltava community.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that Air Armed systems were firing at air targets in Cherkasy oblast. The debris of the Shahed in Zolotonosha region damaged residential infrastructure.

Cherkasy Adaptive Club, based at the Dnipro Municipal Sports Club, has 80 war veterans and people with disabilities.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 31 October, the occupiers launched 287 attacks on nine settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted eight airstrikes targeting Tavriiske, Yurkovka, and Mala Tokmachka. 153 UAVs of various types attacked Lobkove, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodayilivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, and Malynivka. Three MLRS attacks struck Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne, and 123 artillery strikes targeted the areas around Lobkove, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, and Mala Tokmachka. Sixteen reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure were received.

On 1 November, russian shelling  ignited a fire in Preobrazhenka village, Polohy region, where two single-story utility buildings were burned.

In October, communities in Zaporizhzhia oblast provided the Armed Forces of Ukraine with aid totaling UAH 147 million. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, local authorities aim to respond promptly to military requests.

It is reported that the occupiers twice attempted to advance towards Novodanilivka but faced a strong repulse and suffered losses.

Mykolaiv oblast

On 31 October at 11:45 am, the enemy launched an FPV drone attack on Kutsurub community. As a result of the attack, a private home in the village of Dniprovske was damaged.

Since June 2024, the territory of the Halytsynivskyi Forest, which has been under attack by russian forces since the full-scale invasion began, has been undergoing inspection and clearing of explosive devices. Yevhenii Kantsev, Head of the non-technical survey team from the Association of Ukrainian Sappers, reports that about one-third of the forest is now accessible to the public. As of 31 October, out of more than 675 hectares of forest, 37 hectares remain contaminated with explosives. Over 29,000 hectares within state forest areas across Mykolaiv oblast still require additional demining and survey work.

Odesa oblast

On the evening of 31 October, 2024, the enemy launched three guided Kh-59/69 missiles from the Black Sea, targeting Odesa oblast. The attack injured two rescue workers, who are currently in the hospital. The strike also damaged the administrative building of a fire station, nearby fire trucks, cars parked in the area, and the Novomiske (Tairovske) Cemetery. Preliminary reports indicate that 114 graves were damaged, with 19 destroyed beyond repair.

As of 6am, no enemy ships were present in the Black or Azov Seas. However, one russian vessel with a potential salvo of up to 8 Kalibr cruise missiles was located in the Mediterranean Sea.

Eight vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea, and seven proceeded to the Azov Sea in the interests of the russian federation.

Kherson oblast

Around 11:30, russian forces shelled Kherson, injuring a 25-year-old woman who sustained blast trauma and a concussion. As a result of a missile strike, a 64-year-old man inside a building also suffered blast trauma and facial shrapnel wounds.

Yesterday, enemy attacks affected Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Tomyna Balka, Bilozerka, Honcharne, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Nadezhdivka, Molodizhne, Beryslav, Zolota Balka, Tiahynka, Krupytsia, Dudchany, Novooleksandrivka, Novokairy, Tomaryne, and the city of Kherson. The shelling damaged 18 structures, including 11 private homes, a school, five cars, and a bus. One person was killed, and 13 others were injured.

On 31 October, russian forces attacked Beryslav with drones, injuring two men, aged 37 and 42, who sustained blast injuries, concussions, and shrapnel wounds to their limbs.

Kherson RMA later reported another casualty from yesterday’s attacks: a 50-year-old local woman from Antonivka was hospitalized with blast trauma and a concussion. Additionally, two residents from Blahovishchenske sought medical help for injuries from a russian attack on 30 October, both diagnosed with blast injuries and concussions. Another man injured during the shelling of Kherson several days ago also received treatment for blast trauma and minor head injuries.

According to the South Operational Command, approximately 57 enemy personnel and 21 units of russian equipment were destroyed over the past day. On the Prydniprovske front, russian forces attempted to storm Ukrainian positions four times, suffering significant personnel and equipment losses and ultimately retreating to their starting positions.

Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, at least 395 individuals have been abducted in newly occupied areas of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, including 103 Crimean Tatars. Human rights groups reported the fates of around 80 abducted people, some of whom were either released or detained in russian prisons.

The mobile medical team project continues in Kherson oblast. Specialists from Kherson Regional Children’s Hospital recently visited Chornobaivka, providing medical care to around 40 children. Over the past ten months, medical teams have examined 1,350 children, delivering over 4,500 consultations.

Water supply restoration is ongoing in Beryslav region. An essential phase of water system modernization was completed in Urozhaine, with 700 meters of new pipeline installed. A new meter was set up at the main well, and the central water line was connected to ensure stable water delivery.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

2 DJI Mavic 3 Pro (RC) quadcopters, two ECOFLOW DELTA 2 charging stations, 2 ECOFLOW DELTA 2 Max charging stations and a portable radio-electronic means of combating unmanned aerial vehicles QUERTUS AD G-6+ were sent to the 112th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. A DJI Mavic 3T quadcopter was sent to the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade in Poland. Help was provided by Lutsk community.

Zakarpattia oblast

Educational institutions of the oblast will receive over UAH 1.4m from UNICEF. The amount of support for each educational centre is UAH 290,500. The institutions will be able to use these funds to insulate premises, purchase necessary equipment, repair engineering networks and modernise canteens.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk sent 50 FPV drones to the 109th Separate Battalion of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade thanks to the budget funds.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Inga Stanitje-Tolochkyenje, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine. Cooperation was discussed.

As part of the Birds of Victory project, the 48th charity auction in Sheptytsk raised over UAH 5m. The funds will be used for the purchase of drones and the rehabilitation of a wounded soldier.

A modern, updated rehabilitation department for military personnel and veterans was opened in Morshyn on the basis of the city hospital. It will also provide assistance to civilian patients who have lost motor functions due to serious illnesses or injuries.

Lviv sent 5 buses to Sumy community thanks to the sister city in Denmark.

Rivne oblast

During the 981 days of the war, there were 757 air raids in Rivne oblast. Summarising October: 24 alarms (21 in September); the longest was on 25 October (4 hours 46 minutes); the shortest on 8 October – 17 minutes; the alarm sounded three times during the day on 28 October; the maximum number of days without sirens is 3 (11-15 and 21-25 October).

Ternopil oblast

Made in Ukraine, the Regional Office for small and micro business support, was opened in Ternopil on the basis of Ternopil Regional Employment Center.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi received a modern self-propelled crane based on a Volvo car from partners from Denmark. It is capable of rescuing from a height of 45m .

Chernivtsi oblast

After 2 years of negotiations, Khotyn community signed a partnership agreement with the resort town of Cesme, located on the west coast of Turkey. Within the framework of the agreement, it is planned to implement a large-scale international project on processing solid household waste, in which partners from Australia, Turkey and Great Britain will participate. It is also planned to provide medical rehabilitation for servicemen from Khotyn community and their children.

The Ukrainian-Moldovan Partnership and Cooperation Forum is ongoing in Chernivtsi. Representatives of diplomatic institutions, executive power, chambers of commerce and local self-government from Ukraine and Moldova met to discuss joint initiatives and exchange experience in various fields. The event, co-organized by Chernivtsi City Council, is aimed at developing cooperation between countries and strengthening trade and economic relations.

Norway announced the provision of approximately €120m to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence. The country will direct funds to transfer another Patriot air defence system to Ukraine.

Sweden additionally allocates €63m for military support for Ukraine. €20m will go to support the industrial base of Ukraine within the framework of the Danish initiative to purchase weapons from Ukrainian manufacturers. The government also intends to allocate about €43m to a number of launched multilateral initiatives for quick and effective support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Australia joined the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. It will cooperate with other countries to return illegally displaced and deported Ukrainian children by russia.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, held a number of meetings with representatives of the USA, Canada, France, the Vatican and Switzerland. They discussed supporting Ukraine.

The founding meeting of partners of the project of institutional cooperation in the field of air monitoring between Finland and Ukraine (UFAIR) was held. The current state of air quality management in Ukraine was presented, cooperation in the field of atmospheric air monitoring and opportunities for cooperation to develop a modern air quality monitoring system in Ukraine were discussed.
