Here is operational information on the Russian invasion as of 6pm:
The enemy focuses its efforts on establishing full control over Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts, holding the occupied areas of Kherson and parts of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv oblasts. The occupiers are trying to create conditions for resumption of the offensive in certain directions, as well as blocking Ukraine’s maritime communication in the Black Sea.
There remains a threat of missile strikes by the russian occupiers throughout Ukraine.
There are no changes towards Volyn, Polissia and Siversk. The occupier conducted aerial reconnaissance and fired barreled and rocket artillery at the areas of Hai and Hremiach in Chernihiv oblast and Novi Vyrky and Mykolaivka in Sumy oblast.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy launched airstrikes near Pryshyb, Rtyshchivka, and Verkhnyi Saltiv in addition to artillery fire damage along the contact line. Also, the enemy reconnaissance with unmanned aerial vehicles was conducted.
Towards Sloviansk, shelling was recorded near Bohorodichne, Dovhenke, Krasnopillia, Ridne, Sulyhivka and Velyka Komyshuvakha. Near Virnopillia, the invaders tried to conduct assault operations. The Ukrainian military suppressed this attempt and threw the enemy back.
Near Bohorodychne and Dolyna, the enemy’s combat reconnaissance ended in failure. Suffering losses, the enemy retreated.
Towards Kramatorsk, the occupier fired tanks, barreled and rocket artillery in the areas of Hryhorivka, Kramatorsk, Raihorodok, Siversk, Verkhniokamianske, Zvanivka. There was an airstrike near Spirne.
Near Verkhniokamianske, the enemy tried to gain a foothold by assault but failed and withdrew.
Towards Bakhmut, shelling of military and civilian infrastructure was recorded in Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Kostiantynivka, Soledar, Pokrovske, Vershyna, Kodema and Yakovlivka. The enemy used aircraft near Bakhmut, Soledar and Zaitsevo.
Near Bilohorivka, the enemy was trying to reveal the defense system of our troops using a reconnaissance group. The group was identified and eliminated.
The enemy conducted offensive and assault operations in proximity of Bakhmut, Vershyna, Yakovlivka and Zaitseve, , had no success, and withdrew. Fighting continues near Kodema.
Towards Avdiivka, the invaders fired artillery and tanks in the areas of the settlements of Avdiivka,Krasnohorivka, Netailove, Nevelske, Niu York, Pisky, and Shevchenko. Airstrikes were recorded near Avdiivka, Kamianka, Marinka, and Volodymyrivka.

Towards Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia, shelling continues along the contact line. The enemy launched airstrikes on Mali Shcherbaky, Nikolskoye, Novoselka, Novodanylivka, Vesele, and Velyka Novoselka.
Towards the South Buh, the enemy focuses its main efforts on preventing the advance of our troops. The enemy is shelling Ukrainian settlements with barreled, rocket artillery and tanks along the entire contact line. The invaders launched airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Andriivka, Belohirka, Novomykolaivka, Oleksandrivka, Myrne, Velyke Artakove and Tavriiske. The enemy conducted offensive battles near Blahodatne, had no success and withdrew.
On the first Sunday of August, Ukraine celebrates the day of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Today, they include not only aerial, but also anti-aircraft components, in particular, anti-aircraft missile systems and radio engineering troops, as well as several special forces. “Our pilots, anti-aircraft missile forces, radio engineering troops are heroes who defend us and do everything to make our sky peaceful,” said Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov. Anti-aircraft missile and radio troops today “are facing new challenges, against so many missiles that have never been used”.
On the occasion of the Day of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Order of the Golden Star to servicemen who were awarded with the title of Hero of Ukraine, and family members of the fallen Heroes, as well as other state awards. The Head of State notes that many countries of the world have military aircraft and air defense systems, but only a few countries have truly combat-ready military aviation and are able to achieve victories in the air.
Since the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, at least 6 russian commanders have been dismissed and 10 russian generals have been killed. This is stated in the intelligence review of the UK Ministry of Defense. “Poor performance of the russian armed forces during the invasion of Ukraine cost the Russian military leadership dearly, which probably led to the dismissal of at least six russian commanders since the outbreak of hostilities,” the report says. These dismissals are exacerbated by the fact that at least 10 russian generals have been killed on the battlefield in Ukraine.
Eastern regions
Kharkiv oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders are firing cannon and rocket artillery along the entire contact line towards Kharkiv. They also launched airstrikes near Pryshyb, Rtyshchivka and Verkhniy Saltiv. The enemy unsuccessfully tried to conduct an assault near Verkhnopillia.
Head of Kharkiv Regional Civil Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, informs that Kharkiv was shelled with S-300 missiles. Industrial, Nemyshlia and Nova Bavariia districts were under the fire. There were no casualties. In Industrial and Nemyshlia districts, there is destruction of civilian industrial and critical infrastructure as a result of the shelling.
The enemy struck Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv, Izium and Kharkiv districts. In Chuhuiv district, the invaders shelled settlements and outbuildings were on fire. In Izium district, a private building with an extension was burning as a result of the shelling.
During the day, the invaders destroyed 25 hectares of wheat in the Zolochiv community.
Donetsk oblast
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine says that the invaders failed a combat reconnaissance near Bohorodychne and Dolyna. Ukrainian troops forced the enemy to withdraw.
According to the police of Donetsk oblast, during the day, the invaders shelled 16 settlements in the region. Five people were killed and eight injured. The enemy shelled Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Heorhiivka, Karlivka, Kramatorsk, Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Maksymilianivka, Niu-York, Novoselivka, Ocheretyne, Pervomaisk, Pivdenne, Soledar, Sontsivka and Zalizne. They used all available weapons from tanks to unguided rockets. 22 civilian facilities were damaged and destroyed – 13 residential buildings, a school, a pedestrian bridge, a metalwork shop, a warehouse with seeds and a coke plant.
Head of the Sloviansk City Military Administration, Vadym Liakh, reports about the invaders’ shelling in the city. There were no casualties.
Mariupol mayor’s councilor, Petro Andriushchenko informs that people’s bodies lie wrapped in plastic bags in the city as the occupation “authorities” refuse to perform the funeral.
Luhansk oblast
Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, informs that during the last day, the invaders stormed Verkhnokamianske three times. Ukrainian troops repelled all the attacks and forced the enemy to withdraw. He also added that the invaders began to bury people killed in April and March by the shelling in the occupied Rubizhne. They buried the remains of 63 people.
According to Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, the invaders are mobilizing pensioners and juveniles in the occupied territories.
In the occupied Bilokurakyne, the partisans are leaving letters for the invaders with promises to eliminate them.
Northern regions
Kyiv oblast
American actress Jessica Chastain arrived in Kyiv oblast. She visited Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital and children from Kherson and Chernihiv undergoing treatment there. The star also traveled to the town of Irpin, where she talked to local authorities and heard from witnesses about the war crimes committed by russian occupation forces.
From June 15 to July 27, more than 270 bodies of the people killed arrived in Kyiv from different regions of Ukraine, including the Azovstal plant. The National Police have already appointed investigators to identify the deceased and published instructions for finding relatives.
The Road of Life charity run was held in Kyiv on the initiative of Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital. Teams of doctors, the National Police, and the State Emergency Service, who evacuated patients at the beginning of the invasion and provided them with medical aid, took part in the event. The participants ran from Okhmatdyt to the Southern Railway Station. This was the exact same route they used for evacuation.
Zhytomyr oblast
For several months, Oleksiy Yasyunetsky, a lawyer from Zhytomyr, has been helping Ukrainians to file cases of war crimes committed by the russian army in Ukraine to the International Criminal Court in The Hague free of charge. These are mostly people from Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel who have lost their loved ones or suffered from torture.
Vidvazhni Charitable Foundation started a children’s volunteer movement in Korosten. The head of the foundation, Maria Dobrovinska, assures that children are competent volunteers, despite their age. They will be taught how to work in a team, implement ideas in life and not be afraid of taking the initiative.
Family members of Azovstal defenders held a demonstration in Zhytomyr for the second time. The activists say that many of them have not contacted the POWs for a long time, and the Red Cross does not provide any information.
Sumy oblast
The enemy shelled Sumy oblast with MLRS, barrel artillery and mortars. According to the SBGS, the communities of Bilopillia, Mykolaivka, Shalygine, and Esman came under enemy fire. The Sumy RMA also reported shelling in Buryn and Hlukhiv communities with the artillery, grenade launchers and small arms. In total, about 200 explosions were recorded during the day.
Law enforcement officers of Sumy oblast documented the consequences of enemy shelling. Russia shelled 8 settlements of Sumy oblast. The enemy opened fire on the villages of Yastrubene, Volfyne, Pavlivka, Khodyne, Vovkivka, Starykove, Pisky and the village of Shalyhine. 149 hits were recorded. A private household was damaged due the shelling. According to these facts, proceedings under the article “Violation of the Laws and Customs of War” have been opened.
Okhtyrka residents receive 10K hryvnias for reimbursement of expenses related to installation of individual heating. As reported in the city council, owners of houses and apartments in one- and two-storey residential buildings are already applying for such help.
The regional forestry and hunting management reported that the traditional opening of the hunting season for feathered game will not take place this year. This is due to a strict ban on visiting the forest due to martial law.
A charity sale of paintings by local artists was held in Sumy. All collected funds will go to help the family of Sumy artist, sculptor and teacher Ruslan Movchan, who died during the hostilities.
Chernihiv oblast
The State Border Service reports that Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities of Chernihiv oblast came under enemy fire once again. The territory of the Novgorod-Siverskyi community was shelled with MLRS, mortars and SPHs. More than six dozen explosions were recorded. The enemy shelled the Semenivka community from SPHs, there were 17 explosions.
The Cultural Descent artistic tour by Mykola Serha visited the military of Chernihiv oblast. To support the defenders, the stars organized an hour of music, drive and emotions. The OC “North” reports that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, many cultural figures have also joined the ranks of Ukrainian defenders.
Biathlon classes for children have been resumed in Chernihiv at a ski base bombed by russian troops. The coaches say that the classes are held on the remnants of the track, they run and maintain their physical form in Yalivshchyna, and they go to the shooting range to practice shooting. During air raids, they plan to hide in the basement of the base.
A new exposition will be opened in the branch of the Pryluky Museum of Local Lore. Propaganda items and attributes of the life of the townspeople during the Soviet times will be presented. According to the director of the museum, Tetiana Zots, in this way the museum workers want to demonstrate how a foreign history was imposed on Ukrainians.
The Belgian abbey donated 10K euros for restoration of schools in Chernihiv. Volunteers of the Angels of Freedom project report that these funds will be used to repair school #27. The facility has a large shelter and can be opened in September. According to the volunteers, Father Karel from the abbey has been supporting Chernihiv and its residents since the first week of the war.
Central regions
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
At night, russian army shelled Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih district. According to Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk, the enemy fired about 60 missiles from Grads at Marganets and the territory of the Chorvonohryhorivsk community. In Marhanets, a pensioner was injured. He has cut wounds on his head. More than fifty residential and commercial buildings, several cars, and a bus stop were damaged. Gas pipelines and electric networks were damaged, leaving almost a thousand consumers without electricity.
In the Kryvyi Rih district, the enemy fired on the border territories of the Zelenodolsk and Apostoliv TCs. No one was injured, there was no damage.
In the evening, the enemy fired at the settlements of the Chorvonohryhorivsk community again. The water supply network was damaged, 6.5K people were left without water. Two country houses and some power lines were also damaged. People were not injured. This was announced by Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk.
An action in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war took place in Dnipro. The protesters called on the world to help bring them home before the russian occupiers killed them, like the military of the Azov regiment and National Guardsmen in Olenivka.
Vinnytsia oblast
In Vinnytsia, at the construction site of the Honoring Defenders of the Sky of Ukraine complex, the military laid a capsule in honor of the aviators who died while defending the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine during the russian-Ukrainian war of 2014-22. As a reminder, on August 7, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Kirovohrad oblast
An evacuation train from Donetsk oblast has arrived in Kropyvnytskyi, the regional emergency department reports. Rescue workers set up tents with beds to provide rest and tea for the refugees at the station. Psychologists work with people. Among those who arrived are women, children, the elderly and people with reduced mobility.
On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the community, a charity auction was held in Pryiutivka, the Oleksandriysky district, Kirovohrad region. Residents of the community provided items for the auction and prepared refreshments. Over 20K hryvnias were collected for our defenders in one day.
IDPs from Sloviansk and Sievierodonetsk opened a co-working space “Gogle 87” in Kropyvnytskyi. It is intended for public figures, educators, and cultural workers. According to Oleksandr Kashlakov, Head of the public organization Zadzerkallia Sloviansk Cultural Center, educational events, free training courses, creative master classes, etc., will be held there.
Poltava region
A set for a tea ceremony is being raffled off at a charity auction in Poltava. TEASTUDIO project coordinator Artur Stepanov notes that anyone can participate in the fundraising for Ukrainian defenders by purchasing a ticket for the auction.
Cherkasy region
In the village of Khutory, the Cherkasy district, the parish was transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. On August 7, a meeting was held in the local House of Culture, where 113 citizens voted “for”, two voted “against”, and one person abstained.
The communal enterprise Cherkasyvodokanal introduced online services for transmission of water meter readings. This was done for convenience of the citizens and to improve their service during the martial law period.
In Cherkasy, on one of the beaches, people swam on the “Dragon” boat to raise funds for a drone for the Armed Forces. Volunteers decided to organize a charity training when they learned that a special purpose unit in the 49th separate infantry battalion, which performs combat tasks on the front line, needed a drone. Cherkasy lieutenant Yehor Zamani, a rower of the Cherkasy “Kaiman” team, is serving there. Such charitable actions are going to be continued, said the organizer of the event, Anton Irihin.
Southern regions
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Towards Zaporizhzhia the situation has not undergone any significant changes. The enemy is focusing its main efforts on holding the occupied positions. Over the last day the invaders shelled the positions of Ukrainian defenders using tank gunnery, artillery and MLRS along the entire contact line.
The occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the areas of Chervone , Huliaipole, Marfopil, Orikhhiv, Stepnohirsk, Trudove, Zaporizhzhia. There were 8 reports of destruction of civilian infrastructure as a result of shelling by russian occupation forces.
Energoatom reported on another russian missile attack on the site of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP) and the city of Enerhodar. They hit the ZNPP site next to the station’s dry storage of spent nuclear fuel, where 174 containers of spent nuclear fuel are stored. Three radiation monitoring sensors around the site were damaged. As a result of the explosions, one ZNPP worker was injured by shrapnel.
The European Union condemned the shelling of the territory near the Zaporizhzhia NPPby the russian military. EU High Representative Josep Borrell insists that the IAEA should be given access to the station.
During the day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the base of the russian occupiers in the Polohy district and an ammunition depot in Enerhodar. This was announced by Mayor of Enerhodar Dmytro Orlov.
During the past day, 1,105 people, including 318 children, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory.
As of today, 17,742 consumers in 81 settlements are left without electricity in Zaporizhia oblast.
Mykolaiv oblast
The occupiers attacked Ukrainian defenders’ positions and the liberated settlements in Bashtanka and Mykolaiv districts of Mykolaiv oblast, as well as in Beryslav and Kherson districts of Kherson oblast, using attack aircraft and helicopters 8 times. There are no losses.
During the night, the enemy launched three missile attacks on Mykolaiv oblast. 2 Kh-59 cruise missiles destroyed three residential buildings in the Voznesensk district. According to the preliminary information, there were no victims. The enemy attacked industrial enterprises on the outskirts of Mykolaiv with Smerch multiple rocket launchers.
During the day, the enemy once again shelled the city of Mykolaiv with Smerch and Urahan multiple rocket launchers, trying to destroy industrial infrastructure facilities. Currently, it is known about damaged residential buildings and industrial enterprises.
The occupiers also shelled Bereznehuvate and the villages of Kotliareve and Novomykolaivka. One multi-apartment and 11 private residential buildings, office premises, garage boxes, shop premises, and a post office were damaged. One woman was killed, and 8 more injured. Among the injured is a 17-year-old girl.
Firefighters extinguished 3 fires in Mykolaiv oblast caused by enemy shelling.
Mykolaiv oblast has been shelled 700 times since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian army on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As of August 7, almost 9K civilian objects were damaged in Mykolaiv oblast.
In Mykolaiv, an extended curfew continues until 5 a.m. on Monday, August 8. The city is closed, counter-sabotage measures are being taken.
Odesa oblast
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the first ship has arrived at the port of Chornomorsk. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the bulk carrier FULMAR S under the flag of Barbados is ready for loading. It is planned to load it with grain, after that it will go to Turkey.
Four vessels with Ukrainian grain departed from the ports of Chornomorsk and Odesa. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Turkey. Four bulkers MUSTAFA NECATI, STAR HELENA, GLORY and RIVA WIND are carrying almost 170K tons of agricultural products on board. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, they are heading to the ports of Italy, China and Turkey.
There are no changes in the ship grouping of the enemy forces – 2 surface and 2 underwater missile carriers and 1 large amphibious ship are in combat readiness.
A 10-year-old girl from Odesa organized a quiz to help the military. The girl offers to test her knowledge of geography. She receives money for each correct answer. She plans to transfer the collected money to Serhii Prytula’s charity foundation.
Kherson oblast
The enemy launched several airstrikes near Andriivka, Bilohirka and Velyke Artakove, and conducted intensive aerial reconnaissance with UAVs.
The occupiers made an unsuccessful assault attempt in the direction of Vasylkivka – Blahodatne. The enemy retreated with losses.
According to the South Operational Command, the confirmed losses of the enemy during the night are 23 occupiers, a radar station, an anti-aircraft missile-gun complex “Pantsir-S1” and 2 military vehicles.
Ukrainian attack aircraft, consisting of bombers, fighter jets, and helicopters, launched 9 attacks on 3 strongholds, 4 enemy clusters of menforce, weapons and equipment, an ammunition depot, and a radar station during the combat day.
Ukrainian missile and artillery units performed more than 200 firing missions, including those against the enemy’s air defense forces. The destruction of 4 S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems and the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile gun complex, a 122 mm howitzer, an enemy reconnaissance drone, armored and automotive equipment was confirmed. The field storage of ammunition was also destroyed.
The russian military leaves explosive devices in residential buildings, playgrounds, shops and dog kennels in Kherson oblast. Such devices are found by Ukrainian defenders in liberated settlements.
Western regions
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that towards Volyn and Polissia on the territory of the republic of belarus, the armed forces of the russian federation are deploying additional forces and means of air defense.
Volyn
Volunteers of the ANGAR headquarters, located in Lutsk, published a report on the funds collected in July. In one month, almost UAH 3 million and over 7K dollars were collected for the needs of the military.
Lutsk libraries are knitting camouflage suits for scouts and snipers.
Pavlo and Maksym, young residents of Novovolynsk, create a patriotic mural on the wall of the Novovolynsk Central City Hospital. It will depict farmers, soldiers and medics – those who bring Victory on their fronts.
In Bukovyna, Valeriya Oleksiuk, a 3rd-grade student at the Mygiv support institution, cut off and sold her hair to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Zakarpattia oblast
The Zakarpattia RMA sent several unmanned aerial vehicles and drones for the needs of the Armed Forces, as well as cigarettes confiscated from contrabandists.
The joint pilot project of the Zakarpattia RMA, Uzhgorod National University and Zakarpattia IT cluster Summer School of Informatics has been completed. During the week, almost 200 children mastered information technologies.
UAH 1 160 000 was collected during a charity match at the FC Minai stadium. With these funds, the Liga Life charitable organization purchased 2 thermal imagers and 5 cars for the Armed Forces.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Since the start of the full-scale war, over 146K refugees have arrived in Prykarpattia.
A charity fair was held in Ivano-Frankivsk, where about UAH 20K was collected. The funds will be used for the purchase of military ammunition and a vehicle for the 75th battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
An open doubles tennis tournament among amateurs was held in Mykytinsy, organized by the Karpaty tennis club with the support of the Ukrainian Unity charitable foundation. The collected UAH 90K were handed over to the #SaveUkraineNow (SUN) Coordination Center, which supports battalions from Prykarpattia on the front lines.
Lviv oblast
Today, 238 people have arrived in Lviv from the areas of active hostilities by two evacuation trains. 775 people left for Przemysl.
From Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, 15 patients were evacuated to two medical facilities in Lviv oblast from the areas of active hostilities. The condition of people is severe and moderate.
The Western Ukrainian specialized children’s medical center was visited by a world-renowned plastic surgeon from Turkey, Professor Hakan Ahir. Together with Lviv doctors, he conducted over 60 consultations and 14 complex surgical interventions for children from different oblasts of Ukraine.
Rivne oblast
Rivne oblast received food kits for people with disabilities, low-income citizens from the World Food Program under the UN World Food Program.
An auction for the sale of the Dream-Picture has started in Varasha, aimed at raising funds for a night vision device and a car for servicemen of the 14th OMB, who are fighting the russian occupier in Donetsk oblast. 26 artists from Rivne oblast have been creating the painting for two months.
The famous Rivne artist Yurii Zhuravel created a portrait of a Ukrainian pilot for the Day of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the cover of the Know Our People 2023 calendar. He dedicated the work to all military pilots who had died defending the country in this war.
Medical officer Mariana Mamonova, who hails from the Mlyniv district in Rivne oblast, is being held captive by the russian occupiers. She was captured in April 2022 from the plant named after Ilyich in Mariupol. Now the doctor is seven months pregnant.
Ternopil oblast
The Chortkiv city council reported that children of military personnel from Chortkovo and those who suffered as a result of missile attacks went on a free vacation to Latvia. Accommodation, meals (5 meals a day) and all other expenses are fully covered by the Latvian party.
Ternopil oblast received UAH 34 million in compensation for housing and communal services for the residents of the oblast, who sheltered displaced persons free of charge.
By the decree of the President of Ukraine, the Hero from Ternopil oblast Lubomyr Vaverchak was awarded with the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree (posthumously).
Khmelnytskyi oblast
An action was held in Khmelnytskyi in support of the prisoners of war of the Mariupol garrison.
In Khmelnytskyi, a charity event was held to collect clothes and household goods for IDPs, which will be distributed in the premises of the RMA.
A children’s football team from Khmelnytskyi visited the Polish city of Bielsko-Biala and took part in a charity match with local young football players.
