It has been the 1319  th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm: 

The invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders.

On 4 October, there were 63 combat clashes on the frontline.

Border settlements, in particular Khrinivka in Chernihiv oblast; Bobylivka, Novovasylivka, Chernatske, Rozhkovychi, and Bilokopytove in Sumy oblast, suffered from artillery shelling from the territory of the russian federation.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, Ukrainian defenders repelled three russian attacks, and one more combat clash is ongoing. The enemy launched four airstrikes, dropping nine guided bombs, and carried out 113 attacks, including nine from multiple launch rocket systems.

Towards Southern Sloboda, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four enemy attacks near Vovchansk, Lyptsi, Kolodiazne, and Kutkivka, and one combat clash is still ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, the aggressor did not conduct offensive actions.

Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked six times near the settlements of Shandryholove, Novoselivka, Torske and Drobysheve. Three clashes are ongoing.

Towards Siversk, the Defense Forces repelled four enemy attacks near Hryhorivka, Yampol and Dronivka; two more clashes are ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy conducted one unsuccessful attack on the position of our defenders near Predtechyne.

Towards Toretsk, our soldiers stopped six enemy offensive actions in the vicinity of the settlements of Shcherbynivka, Poltavka, Rusyn Yar, Oleksandro-Shultyne and Ivanopillia, another clash is ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, the invaders made 20 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Nykanorivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Dachne, Myroliubivka, Mykolaivka, Filiia and Myrnohrad. The defense forces are holding back the enemy’s onslaught and stopped 16 attacks.

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy attacked 13 times in the vicinity of the settlements of Sosnivka, Vorone, Sichneve, Yalta, Piddubne, Novomykolaivka, Ternove, Novovasylivka, Novohryhorivka and Verbove. Six clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Huliaipole, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations, but carried out an airstrike on Zaliznychne.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy carried out one attack near Novodanylivka, which was repulsed. The enemy launched an air strike near Stepove.

Towards Kherson, the enemy made two attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses, one battle is still ongoing. The enemy launched an airstrike in the vicinity of ​​the settlement of Odradokamianka.

In other directions of the front, the situation did not undergo significant changes.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

There were 159 combat clashes in the oblast.

▪️ Towards Southern Sloboda,there were 13 enemy attacks in the vicinity of the settlements of Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Kamianka and Krasne Pershe.

▪️Towards Kupiansk, there were three attacks yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assault actions in the vicinity of the settlements of Kupiansk, Radkivka and Pishchane.

9 settlements of the oblast were subjected to enemy attacks. 5 people were injured as a result of the shelling.

In the village of Lisna Stinka, Kurylivka community, 59-year-old and 47-year-old men and 55-year-old and 53-year-old women were injured; in the village of Dachne, Slobozhansk community, a 63-year-old man was injured.

Also, as a result of the explosion of an unknown object in the village of Zolochiv, a 38-year-old man was injured.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons in the Kharkiv region:

▪️23 UAVs of the Geran-2 type;

▪️2 UAVs of the Molniya type;

▪️5 fpv drones.

Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:

▪️In Kupiansk region, a private house was damaged (village of Lisna Stinka), a car (village of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi);

▪️In Bohodukhiv region, a private house, outbuildings (village of Odnorobivka), a private house, outbuildings, and power grids (village of Perovske) were damaged.

Andriy Kanashevich, Head of the RMA, says that the body of a 59-year-old man was found under the rubble in Vilhuvatka, Kupiansk region. According to him, the collapses were caused by a drone, previously a Molniya, hitting a private house on September 29.

4 settlements in Lozova region (a total of 1,500 subscribers) and one in Chuhuiv region (about 2,500 subscribers) are temporarily without power.

The transit evacuation point in Lozova accepted 211 people during the day. 54 people remained. A total of 5,840 people have been registered at the Point since it began operating.

Two ambulances equipped with electronic warfare equipment were handed over to Kharkiv medics by French volunteers on October 3.

 Donetsk oblast

The General Staff said that russian troops attacked 56 times towards Pokrovsky, 48 – the day before. There were no battles towards Kramatorsk, and two assaults took place the day before.

Towards Pokrovsk, Ukrainian defenders stopped assaults near the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Razine, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka and Filiia.

There were 28 attacks towards Novopavlivka, and 12 attacks towards Lyman.

Taras Myshak, a senior officer of the communications department of the 59th Infantry Brigade, says that towards Pokrovsk, the russian army is advancing daily, trying to approach the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, currently, strikes with guided aerial bombs have intensified both on the front line and in the rear. If this weapon was inaccurate before, now its use has become more accurate, which may indicate technical improvements.

Vadim Liakh, Head of the RMA, reports that at night, russian troops shelled Sloviansk. According to him, there were no injuries, and private houses were damaged.

One person was killed, seven others were injured as a result of russian strikes on Donetsk oblast.

On October 3, there were 1,909 enemy attacks on the front line and residential areas.

13 settlements were under fire: the cities of Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Mykolaivka, the villages of Komyshuvakha, Novodonetske, Ivanopillia, Iverske, Novoiverske, Novooleksandrivka, and Spasko-Mykhailivka.

60 civilian objects were destroyed, including 35 residential buildings.

According to the 4th Mechanized Brigade and the head of the National Union of Ukrainian Soldiers Serhii Tomilenko, near Druzhkivka, French journalist Antoni Lallikan was killed by a russian FPV drone. His colleague, Ukrainian journalist Heorhii Ivanchenko, was wounded.

Near Komyshuvakha, Kramatorsk region, a foreign journalist was killed by a hit by an enemy FPV drone, and four more civilians were wounded.

russians struck Kostiantynivka 8 times: with two bombs of 250 and 500 kg, drones and artillery. Two civilians were injured, 16 apartment buildings, a cinema, a shop, a post office, a housing and utilities building, and 5 garages were damaged.

There is a wounded person in Novooleksandrivka, Kramatorsk district, which was attacked by two Geran-2 UAVs. 2 private houses and a car were damaged.

In Druzhkivka, a russian FPV drone damaged an infrastructure facility. In Mykolaivka, an apartment building was damaged, and in Lyman, two private homes.

In Dobropillia, russia hit a nine-story building with an FPV drone.

In addition, information has been established about one wounded civilian in Siversk, who was injured during shelling on October 2.

The situation in Kupiansk has been stabilized, but the locals need to be evacuated, in particular, because the city does not plan to turn on the heating. Also, before the frost, the OVA is thinking about increasing the forced evacuation of 700 families with children from Velykyi Burlak community. In Kharkiv, they have begun building an underground hospital and are holding a tender for the construction of a new oncology center.

Luhansk oblast

Along the line of combat contact in our zone of responsibility, the enemy is using all available weapons. Over the past day, it has fired 10 artillery shots. 36 drones and FPV drones were carrying out russian combat missions. The enemy also carried out an air strike. The invaders attacked in the vicinity of ​​Hrekivka.

russian owners of coal mining enterprises located in the occupied Luhansk oblast do not have money to develop the industry and pay salaries, and the budget of the so-called “lpr” does not have enough money to conserve the mines. And this is the problem faced by long-time supporters of the “russian peace”. Investors, who were given these industrial facilities for next to nothing a year and a half ago, are asking for credit funds to pay the miners’ salaries, which have not been paid for many months. They do not have enough money to implement investment projects. According to preliminary calculations, 25.6 billion rubles are needed to preserve the mines, which were profitable a few years ago.

The city of Privilia, located near Lysychansk, is practically not mentioned in the federal media, because the demonstration restoration there has not even begun. For 3.5 years, local residents have been living without electricity and centralized water supply. The settlement has been forgotten by russia.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to the capital’s police, fragments of a russian drone, along with an undetonated warhead, were found in a forest belt in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv,. Passers-by spotted the suspicious object and notified the police. Explosives experts worked at the site and found a warhead with a detonator among the wreckage of the drone. The wreckage of the drone and the explosives were taken to a demolition site for further destruction.

This week, a total of 13 air raid sirens warnings were sounded in Kyiv. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, they lasted for almost 20 hours in total. As a result of a combined enemy attack on the night of 28 September, four people were killed and 14 were injured. The consequences of the enemy shelling were recorded at almost 20 locations in six districts of the capital.

The Department of Economy and Investment reported that the Kyiv Investment Forum 2025 will be held in Berlin in November, bringing together investors, local leaders, innovators and politicians. Together, they will open new avenues for the post-war transformation of the Ukrainian capital and the collective resilience of Europe.

According to the Regional Military Administration, Kyiv oblast is systematically developing supporting structures for veterans and their families. Twelve veteran spaces have been created based on the ‘single window’ principle, 11 veteran development centres are operating on the basis of educational institutions, a ‘social taxi’ service is operating in communities, and rehabilitation modules and the RECOVERY innovation centre have been introduced in oblast’s hospitals. Veterans receive housing and microgrants for their own businesses, and sports clubs and teams are operating.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr Regional Employment Service reported that since the beginning of 2025, 2,211 referrals have been issued in Zhytomyr oblast as part of the ‘Army of Restoration’ project for registered unemployed and unemployed internally displaced persons living in the oblast. These referrals helped victims of hostilities, restored critical infrastructure, and participated in the construction of defensive structures for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Sumy oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on 3 October, Ukrainian defenders repelled three russian assaults towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, while two more clashes were ongoing as of the evening. Since the start of the day, the enemy launched six air strikes, dropping 15 guided bombs, and carried out 90 attacks, including six by multiple launch rocket systems.

Oksana Tarasiuk, Acting Head of Shostka Regional Military Administration, said that on 4 October, russia targeted the railway station in Shostka community, Sumy oblast, striking a passenger train on the Shostka–Kyiv route. Around 30 people were injured in the attack. According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the first strike injured three children and a suburban train ticket clerk. They are receiving treatment in hospitals. Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported at least eight people wounded in UAV strikes on passenger trains.

On the night of 4 October, the russian army used drones to attack agricultural enterprises in Chernechchyna community. A building used as a grain warehouse storing 700 tonnes of grain was damaged, along with a workshop-garage housing two ZIL-130 trucks. One vehicle was completely destroyed by fire.

The Regional Prosecutor’s Office informed that in hospital, a 79-year-old man wounded during a russian attack on 30 September in Konotop community has died after four days of intensive care.

On the evening of 3 October the Regional Military Administration reported that parts of Shostka region remain without electricity following russian drone strikes. The threat of further strikes is complicating repair work. Critical infrastructure is operating on backup power. “Points of Invincibility” have been opened to provide residents with heating, charging stations, and basic support.

Between the morning of 3 October and the morning of 4 October, russian forces carried out 198 attacks on 50 settlements in 21 local communities of Sumy oblast. The largest number of strikes was recorded in Sumy, Shostka, and Okhtyrka regions. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (nearly 30 strikes), multiple launch rocket systems (over 10 strikes), UAVs (20 strikes), dropped VOG grenades from drones (up to 10 strikes), and also conducted FPV-drone attacks.

Over the past day, nine civilians were injured in Sumy oblast, including an eight-year-old girl. In Seredyna-Buda community, three women aged 59, 67 and 76, and two men aged 60 and 74 were wounded when VOG grenades were dropped from a drone. In Andriiashivka community, a missile strike in the morning of 3 October injured three civilians: two women aged 62 and 50, and an eight-year-old child. In Mykolaivka settlement community, a 56-year-old man was wounded in a drone strike.

Damage and destruction to civilian infrastructure included:

  • In Velyka Pysarivka community – a private house.

  • In Shostka community – civilian infrastructure facilities.

  • In Seredyna-Buda community – a private residential house.

  • In Hlukhiv community – a private residential house.

  • In Buryn community – an educational facility.

  • In Sumy community – a civilian infrastructure facility and a private house.

  • In Okhtyrka community – a non-residential building destroyed, agricultural equipment and another non-residential building damaged.

  • In Krasnopillia community – non-residential buildings damaged.

  • In Andriyashivka community (updated information) – 13 private houses, a kindergarten, a school, eight farm buildings, three garages, three cars, and a tractor damaged.

According to the Regional Military Administration, in 2025, more than UAH 280m. were allocated under veteran support programmes from the regional and local budgets of Sumy oblast, of which nearly UAH 150m. had already been disbursed by September.

In Sumy oblast, more than 5,000 households within 10 kilometres of the border and up to 3,000 households outside this zone have received winter assistance from international donors. Residents of border communities are receiving UAH 19,400 per household. For those living further from the border, aid is provided by international donors based on vulnerability categories such as internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, and large or low-income families.

Chernihiv oblast

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration reported that on the morning of 4 October, russian forces attacked the centre of Novhorod-Siverskyi by “Shahed” strike drones. A non-residential building caught fire and nearby houses were damaged. Police said a sports complex and other civilian infrastructure were also damaged.

The Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Chernihiv oblast confirmed that overnight on 4 October, Chernihiv was again attacked by russian drones, with several explosions reported in the city. Fires broke out at the impact sites. The russian army struck an infrastructure facility in the city.

Chernihivoblenergo informed that the latest russian drone attack also damaged several key power supply facilities. Emergency outages affected about 50,000 electricity consumers across the oblast. Scheduled outages have been introduced.

On 3 October, Chernihiv residents paid tribute to 47-year-old Maksym Zuzlov, who was killed on 30 September in a russian missile strike on lorries near the village of Lavy. The vehicles had been waiting in line to load grain from the fields and deliver it to Nizhyn.

According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, throughout 3 October, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk. The enemy carried out FPV-drone strikes (26 explosions) and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (11 explosions). Eight villages came under fire.

The Command of Ukraine’s Ground Forces said that following the russian missile strike on a training facility in Honcharivske, Chernihiv oblast, on 24 September, and amid the growing presence of russian reconnaissance drones and increased attention from enemy forces towards the oblast, military training centres are being “gradually relocated to other regions of Ukraine for safer conditions and continued training”.

The 105th Border Detachment named after Prince Volodymyr the Great received a new ambulance from donors. The vehicle was purchased by the Belgian NGO BEforUkraine, while Nadiia charitable foundation delivered medicines and a generator. The keys were handed over to border guards in Chernihiv on 3 October.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the oblast council, says that the defenders destroyed 11 enemy UAVs.

In Dnipro, as a result of the attack, infrastructure was damaged. The occupiers also launched a missile attack on Pavlohrad. Synelnykove region was also attacked with drones. They targeted Pokrovske and Mezhova communities.

A 51-year-old woman was injured. Fires broke out, 3 private houses, an outbuilding, and a garage were damaged. Late in the evening, the occupiers struck Nikopol region. They targeted Pokrovske community with artillery.

 

The occupiers again attacked the Synelnyky district with drones and KABs. They targeted Mezhova and Pokrovske communities.

A fire broke out, 2 private houses were damaged. During the day, the enemy struck Nikopol region about a dozen and a half times. Artillery and drones were fired at Nikopol, Marhanets and Pokrovske communities.

A 71-year-old woman was injured. 8 private houses, 6 outbuildings, 2 cars, a power line and a gas pipeline were damaged.

Kirovohrad oblast

During the prisoner exchange between Ukraine and the russian federation, Volodymyr Todorenko was released from the city of Haivoron. 

He had been in captivity since April 2022.

Poltava oblast

Serviceman Yevhenii Nahievich was in captivity for more than three years. During the exchange on October 2, he was returned to Ukraine – on the eve of his 29th birthday. He is currently being rehabilitated.

Cherkasy oblast

A reminder action about the missing and prisoners of war “Between Heaven and Earth” was held in Zolotonosha.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, today, russian forces attacked a minibus in Malokaterynivka by an FPV drone. The vehicle was damaged and windows were shattered. There were no casualties or injuries reported.

During the night, russian forces struck Komyshuvakha by KABs. More than 20 residential houses were damaged. There were no casualties reported.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, reported that on 3 October, the russian military carried out 596 attacks on 17 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. These included 9 airstrikes targeting Komyshuvakha, Hryhorivka, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Novouspenivka, Malynivka and Poltavka.

Based on the information provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defence Forces in Orikhiv region repelled 1 russian assault near Novoandriivka. In Huliaipole region, russian troops launched 7 attacks near Poltavka.

Svitlana Hrynchuk, Deputy Minister of Energy, stated that safe operation of the russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) can only be ensured by a Ukrainian operator. She said that since 23 September, the ZNPP has been disconnected from the power transmission line through which it received electricity from the energy system of Ukraine.

Mykolaiv oblast

Referring to Mykolaiv RMA, on 3 October, russian forces launched 6 FPV drone attacks on Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities. As a result of one of the attacks, a private house in Dmytrivka village was damaged. There were no casualties reported.

Kherson oblast

Relying on the information provided by the City Military Administration, a 68-year-old woman was injured as a result of russian shelling in Kherson. She sustained blast and shrapnel injuries. Doctors assessed her condition as moderate.

According to the RMA, in Velyka Oleksandrivka village, a 69-year-old man was injured after detonating a russian landmine in his garden. He suffered a blast injury and a foot amputation.

A 50-year-old woman was injured in a russian shelling of Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. She sustained a blast injury and an acute stress reaction.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, reported that around 9:30am, in Tsentralnyi district of Kherson, russian troops attacked a civilian car. A woman and 2 children were injured. Both boys are in serious condition and are receiving medical assistance.

The State Emergency Service of the oblast reported that in Kherson, a car caught fire overnight as a result of a russian drone attack. Firefighters promptly responded and extinguished the blaze.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, stated that on 3 October, 8 people were injured due to russian shelling in Kherson oblast. A gas pipeline, 2 high-rise buildings, 12 private houses and several vehicles were damaged. The russian forces struck 34 settlements across the oblast.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Serhii Kirichik, native of the village of Prilisne, Kamin-Kashyrskyi region and resident of Manevichi, received the III degree For Courage Order. The soldier served in the rocket artillery battery of the 47th Separate Artillery Brigade.

Zakarpattia oblast

This year, 30 families from the oblast have already received compensation for solar panels under the Own Home program. The total amount of compensation is UAH 760,000.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

A charity relay race I’m Running for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was held in Ivano-Frankivsk. The event is dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. 26 teams from enterprises, organizations, institutions, colleges and universities, and volunteer initiatives took part in the 400-meter team race. A charity fair was also held.

Lviv oblast

Oleksandr Usyk joined the reconstruction of the Roman Shukhevych Museum in Lviv. The champion donated his boxing gloves for a charity auction and made a donation of UAH 100,000.

Adaptive swimming competitions among military personnel and veterans were held in Lviv. This is the 1st Warriors’ Cup organized within the framework of the League of the Invincible project.

The Angels of the Armed Forces of Ukraine CF delivered 4 repaired cars and humanitarian aid to the front line. The Priority 4_5_0 CF provided the soldiers with generators, ECOFLOW, ammunition and other items worth over UAH 95,000.

Rivne oblast

38 children from Rivne i oblast recovered at the international center Artek. These are children of military personnel, orphans, and those with disabilities. During the previous 8 shifts, 281 children from Rivne oblast have already rested at Artek, located near Kyiv.

Ternopil oblast

37 defenders from Ternopil will receive assistance for treatment and rehabilitation. Each wounded soldier will receive UAH 15,000 to restore their health. Since the beginning of the year, 302 defenders have already received such support, and last year – 295 servicemen.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi community donated a UAV to Brigade 106 worth almost UAH 800,000.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that Soldier Lukash Mykola has been awarded the Bukovina Cross of Honor and Dignity.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Maia Sandu, President of Moldova. The key topic is the common path to the European Union.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Mette Frederiksen, Danish Prime Minister, Emmanuel Macron, French President, Friedrich Merz, German Federal Chancellor and Donald Tusk, Polish Prime Minister. They discussed the implementation of the PURL initiative and work on security guarantees that should include protection on the ground, in the sky and at sea.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Mark Rutte, NATO Secretary General. They discussed countering russian provocations and filling the PURL initiative with new contributions.
