As of now, the total number of combat engagements stands at 56.
Today, the communities of Yzdetske, Popivka, Bratenytsia, Chernatske, Bunyakyne, Malushyne, Novovasylivka, Bila Bereza, and Mariine in the Sumy region were affected by enemy artillery and mortar fire.
In the Northern-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, nine enemy attacks have taken place today, and five combat engagements are still ongoing. The occupiers’ aviation carried out five airstrikes, dropping six guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy conducted 111 artillery shellings targeting Ukrainian positions and populated areas.
In the Southern-Slobozhansky direction, Russian forces continue their assault near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops launched two attacks near Kindrashivka and toward Kupiansk.
In the Lyman direction, the invading army conducted eight attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Karpivka, Kolodiazi, and toward Serebrianka. Three engagements are currently ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, since the beginning of the day, the enemy has attacked Ukrainian defenders twice in the areas of Vyiimka and Hryhorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled one enemy attack toward Predtechyne.
In the Toretsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attempts to breach defenses near Dyliivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, Toretsk, and toward Katerynivka. Two engagements are still underway.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have launched 17 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions in the areas of Poltavka, Udachne, Novoeconomichne, Lysivka, Zvirrove, Novopavlivka, Orikhove, Oleksiivka, and toward Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. The Defense Forces are holding the line and have already repelled 14 attacks.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 11 enemy assaults near Yalta, Myrne, Tolstoi, Voskresenka, Maliivka, Zelene Pole, Temyrivka, and Novopil.
In the Huliaipole, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovske directions, the enemy did not conduct ground assaults but did carry out airstrikes on the settlements of Plavni, Prymorske, and Odradokamianka.
Overnight on July 20, Russia launched 57 UAVs to attack Ukrainian territory, according to the Air Force. Eighteen were shot down, and seven are considered lost due to localization failure.
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has imposed sanctions against five individuals, according to presidential advisor Vladyslav Vlasuk. Among them are Balashov, Korolevska, Latynina, Aksyonenko, and Serebryanskyi.

Kyiv oblast
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has issued a notice of suspicion in absentia to a colonel-general of the Russian Armed Forces, accusing him of violating the laws and customs of war. It is reported that in March 2022, while serving as the commander of the Eastern Military District, he gave the order to use combat aviation and artillery on the village of Teterivske in the Vyshhorod district. As a result, 74 residential houses in the village were destroyed or damaged, and two civilians were killed.
On July 25, a blood donation event will be held at the Khanenko Museum in Kyiv, organized by the charitable foundation “Solomianski Kotyky.” The collected blood and its components will replenish critical reserves to save the lives of Ukrainian civilians and wounded soldiers. Donors can choose a convenient time slot during registration, and museum entry will be free for them that day.
One of the largest music events in Kyiv, the Atlas Festival, is currently underway. This year marks its 10th anniversary. To celebrate the occasion, the festival organizers, in cooperation with the “Come Back Alive” foundation and PrivatBank, have launched a campaign to raise 100 million UAH for the purchase of FPV drones, transport, and additional equipment to intercept Russian targets.
Kyiv also hosted the third charity run “Running for Those in Boots 2025,” organized by the “Hurkіt” charitable foundation. The goal of the run is to raise 3 million UAH to fund 50 electronic warfare systems for the 13th National Guard Brigade of Ukraine, “Khartiya.”
Zhytomyr oblast
Zhytomyr will collaborate with two international companies in developing the feasibility study for Ukraine’s first floating solar power plant, according to the Zhytomyr City Council. The statement notes that the cooperation will involve companies from Norway and Turkey. In particular, the Norwegian company partnering with Zhytomyr possesses its own patented technology for constructing floating solar power stations.
Sumy oblast
In the past 24 hours, there were 21 combat engagements in the Northern-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, according to the General Staff of Ukraine. Additionally, the Russian army carried out 8 airstrikes, dropping 15 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 323 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian forces and populated areas, including four strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Svesa community, a 78-year-old woman was killed in a Russian attack, reported Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration. On the evening of July 19, Russian forces attacked a village in the community with four strike UAVs. As a result of the hits, three residential houses and several outbuildings were burned down. Rescuers were unable to immediately begin dealing with the aftermath because the Russians launched a repeat strike.

In the Shostka community, two civilians (born in 1968 and 1977) were injured as a result of airstrikes using guided aerial bombs (KAB), according to the Regional Military Administration. Between the morning of July 19 and the morning of July 20, Russian forces carried out nearly 70 attacks on 33 populated areas across 13 territorial communities in the region. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (almost 20 strikes), dropped VOG grenades from UAVs (10 strikes), and launched attacks using FPV drones and other UAVs across the Sumy region.
Civilian infrastructure was damaged and destroyed in various parts of the region:
- In the Seredyna-Buda community, a civilian infrastructure facility was destroyed;
- In the Druzhba community, a household structure and a private house were damaged;
- In the Svesa community, residential houses were destroyed.
Over the past week, more than 60 people, including 10 children, have been evacuated from three districts of the Sumy region. These evacuees are residents of the Velykopysarivska, Bilopilska, Richkivska, Vorozhbyanska, Hlukhivska, and Seredyna-Buda communities, according to the Regional Military Administration. Currently, 213 populated areas in 18 communities of the region are subject to constant Russian shelling and are under evacuation measures.
Chernihiv oblast
On July 19, Russian forces attacked three border communities in the Chernihiv region: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. According to the Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment, the enemy conducted mortar shelling (3 explosions) and used tube artillery (10 explosions), carried out FPV drone strikes (17 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (5 explosions). A total of 14 populated areas came under enemy fire.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
From evening into the night, the occupiers continued shelling the Nikopol district, according to Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council. They used drones and artillery in their attacks, targeting the district center as well as the Pokrovska and Marhanets communities. Six private houses, a garage, a gas pipeline, and a power line were damaged. The enemy also struck the Vasylkivska community in the Synelnykove district, damaging an agricultural enterprise. According to updated information, five people were injured there as a result of yesterday’s strike. Infrastructure in the Mezhova community was also damaged.
Over the course of the day, the enemy attacked four districts of the region: Nikopol, Kryvyi Rih, Pavlohrad, and Synelnykove.
Nearly twenty strikes were carried out in the Nikopol district using drones, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), and artillery. The enemy targeted the district center as well as the Pokrovska, Myrivska, and Marhanets communities. In Marhanets, a 57-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man were injured in a drone strike. A fire broke out, damaging a private home, two vehicles, and local infrastructure.
Additionally, the enemy shelled the Mezhova, Novopavlivska, and Velykomykhailivska communities in the Synelnykove district using guided aerial bombs (KABs), drones, and artillery. Fires broke out, damaging private houses, vehicles, farm buildings, and a gas pipeline. In the Pavlohrad district, a missile attack sparked a fire, while in the Hrushivska community of Kryvyi Rih district, a drone strike also caused a blaze.

Poltava oblast
In Donetsk region, a defender from Poltava region, Oleh Lymonia, was killed. On March 1, 2024, in the area of Ivanivske, soldier Oleh Lymonia from the village of Kyrylo-Hannivka died as a result of an enemy drone attack. He had been listed as missing in action. In July, his family received official confirmation of his death. Oleh voluntarily joined the military in the spring of 2023.
Cherkasy oblast

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that a 78-year-old man sustained injuries as a result of a russian attack on Vasylivka region of Zaporizhzhia oblast. A private house, a car and the surrounding area were damaged.
The russian forces shelled residential areas in Stepnohirsk, damaging several residential buildings. Also, an FPV drone targeted a civilian vehicle; the driver was unharmed, but the car was destroyed and cannot be restored.
2 women, aged 64 and 73, were injured during a drone strike on Prymorske village in Vasylivka region. The russian military hit their house, damaging the facade and shattering the windows.
1 man was injured following a russian attack on Zaporizhzhia. A 69-year-old woman was wounded. During the night, russian forces launched 2 MLRS strikes and deployed at least 14 drones to attack the regional centre and surrounding area.
According to updated information, 7 private houses were damaged in Zaporizhzhia oblast as a result of overnight shelling on 20 July. Doors were broken, windows shattered and roofs penetrated. A woman injured in the attack refused hospitalisation.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, russian troops continue assault operations near Kamianske village, though without confirmed territorial gains.
Referring to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 19 July, the Defence Forces repelled 2 russian attacks in Orikhiv and Huliaipole regions. Specifically, russian assaults occurred near Kamianske and in the area of Malynivka.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, stated that on 19 July, russian forces carried out 457 strikes across 18 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Among them, 328 unmanned aerial vehicles (mainly FPV drones) targeted Zaporizhzhia, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Novoslobidka, Nyzhnia Khortytsia, Prymorske, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne and Olhivske.
Mykolaiv oblast
According to Mykolaiv RMA, on 19 July, russian forces attacked Kutsurub community, the waters of Ochakiv community and the coastal area of Ochakiv by FPV drones. There were no injuries reported.
Odesa oblast
The Air Force reported that on the evening of 20 July, an enemy reconnaissance UAV was detected over the Black Sea, moving toward Odesa oblast. Air defence systems were deployed to intercept it.
Kherson oblast
Based on the information provided by the State Emergency Service, in the morning, a russian UAV struck the outskirts of Kherson, igniting a private house and 2 vehicles. 2 people were injured. Emergency services extinguished the fire.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, reported that in Zymivnyk village near Kherson, a 17-year-old girl and her father were injured in a russian artillery strike. Both were hospitalized.
On 19 July, 1 person was killed and 6 others, including a child, were injured in russian attacks on Kherson oblast. A high-rise building, 8 private houses and several vehicles were damaged. The russian troops shelled 34 settlements in the oblast.

Volyn oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
In the Carpathian region, 48 primary care institutions have already joined the pilot government project and provide veterans with an expanded list of services. These are 45 municipal “primary” institutions, which make up over 70% of the total number of municipal institutions, and 3 self-employed doctors who have already signed an agreement with the National Health Insurance Fund to participate in the project.
Lviv oblast
Velykolyubinsk community handed over packages of sweets to the soldiers. Horodotsk council, with the help of its employees, raised funds to purchase a car for the soldiers of the 4th International Legion. In Novoiavorivsk, caring residents weave camouflage nets for the front within the walls of 2 schools. Graduates of 2 schools in Novoiavorivsk raised 10 thousand hryvnias to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Rivne oblast
Rivne Drama Theater is implementing barrier-free elements: there is a shelter, wide doors without thresholds, and places for people in wheelchairs. The reconstruction of the stairs is underway, which is part of the project of the first barrier-free route in the oblast. Rivne is one of 15 cities in Ukraine where, at the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska, the flagship project Movement without Barriers is being implemented.
Ternopil oblast
37 defenders from Ternopil will receive assistance for treatment and rehabilitation. Each of our wounded soldiers will receive UAH 15,000 to restore their health.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
A sports charity event, Cossack Double” was held near the village of Stryhany, organized by Khmelnytskyi NPP together with a youth organization. The purpose of the event is to raise funds to purchase necessary equipment for the defenders of Ukraine.
Chernivtsi oblast
Chernivtsi and the Italian city of Bari officially became sister cities. The twinning agreement was signed within the framework of the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
The Czech government has approved a training program for Ukrainian pilots. The training will be provided by the state-owned enterprise LOM Praha.
Boris Pistorius, Defense Minister of Germany, stated that the country will not disclose details about the American weapons that will be supplied to Ukraine.
