What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Since the beginning of the day, the total number of combat clashes along the entire front line is 56.

The invaders do not stop striking at border settlements. The settlements of Zarechye in Chernihiv region; Girky, Velyka Pysarivka, Progress, Malushyne in Sumy region were affected by enemy artillery fire.

Five combat clashes have occurred in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions since the beginning of the day. In addition, the enemy launched four air strikes, dropping eleven guided bombs, and also carried out 198 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements, including five from multiple rocket launchers.

In the South-Slobozhansk direction, enemy units carried out three attacks on the positions of our troops in the Vovchansk area, one combat clash is still ongoing. Enemy aviation struck with KABs at the settlements of Synelnykovo, Vilhuvatka, the enemy attacked Vovchanski Khutory and Okhrimovka with NARs.

Towards Kupyansk direction, the enemy twice stormed the positions of Ukrainian units in the directions of Petropavlivka and Pishchane.

Towards Lyman,the aggressor attacked ten times in the vicinity of the settlements of Kopanky, Nadiia, Ridkodub, Torske, Serebrianka forestry and towards Novoserhiivka, Sredne, Shandryholove. Four clashes are currently ongoing.

Towards Siversk, the enemy twice tried to advance near Serebrianka and Viimka, one clash is still ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, the Defense Forces are repelling two enemy attempts to advance in the vicinity of ​​Chasiv Yar.

Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops four times in the vicinity of Dachne, Toretsk, Rusynyi Yar, and Yablunivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 17 times in the areas of the settlements of Razine, Myrne, Myroliubivka, Malynivka, Udachne, Promin, Lysivka, Oleksiivka and near Volodymyrivka and Novopavlivka. Fighting continues in two locations. Air strikes were carried out in Muravka and Novopavlivka.

Towards Novopavlivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks in the vicinity of the settlements of Myrne and Rivnopil. Clashes continue.

Towards Huliaipole, the Defense Forces repelled one enemy attack in the Malynsvka area.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders in the Kamyanske area three times during the day, and one clash is ongoing. Primorske came under attack from the invaders’ aircraft.

Towards Kherson, there were five clashes, two of which are still ongoing.

The Air Force reports that on the night of June 29, Russia attacked 537 air attack vehicles. It was possible to shoot down 249 targets, another 226 were recognized as lost in location.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that Ukraine is 100% synchronizing EU sanctions against Iran.

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline

The RMA reports about 170 combat clashes.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian units 12 times in the vicinity of Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Stroivka and towards Kutkivka.

Towards Kupiansk, there were nine attacks yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the vicinity of Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Zelenyi Hai.

Shelling

At around 08:30 in the morning, a UAV hit a civilian car moving along the road in the vicinity of the village of Prykolotne. As a result of the enemy strike,

a 60-year-old man was killed and a 59-year-old man was injured by an explosion.

Over the past 24 hours, 3 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were hit by enemy strikes.

In the village of Stavishche, Shevchenko community, 12-year-old and 15-year-old boys were injured as a result of the explosion of an unknown object.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons in the Kharkiv region:

▪️2 UAVs of the Shahed type;

▪️1 UAV of the Geran-2 type;

In Kupiansk region, a warehouse for storing agricultural crops and repairing equipment was damaged (village Vilhuvatka);

In Izium region, agricultural equipment was damaged: 8 tractors, a loader, an excavator, a crane, trucks and cars (village Pidlyman).

Other

In Kharkiv, the owner of a private household discovered an enemy UAV of the Molniya-2 type in the garden, which did not detonate. Explosives technicians of the State Emergency Service neutralized the dangerous find. There were no injuries or casualties.

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that towards Novopavlovka, assault groups of the russian army attacked in the vicinity of ​​Maliivka, Yalta, Zaporizhzhia, Komar and Shevchenko, .

russian troops carried out more than 100 attacks towards Lyman, Siversk, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka. The largest number of assaults was towards Pokrovsk – 56.

Mykola Hrytsenko, chief of staff of the Rubizh brigade battalion, says that russian troops in the Siversky direction have changed tactics. The occupiers have significantly increased the number of UAV crews, which is why active battles are taking place in the sky. On the ground, russian troops are sending their people with explosives one by one to destroy Ukrainian fortifications.

Shelling

Serhii Horbunov, Head of Kostiantynivka RMA, reports that at 10:30, the russian army launched an airstrike on Kostiantynivka, killing one person. Apartment buildings, shopping malls, and a railway track were damaged.

At 7:15 a.m., russian troops shelled a residential building in the front-line Lyman. As a result of the attack in one of the apartments, a 51-year-old man and his wife and their 12-year-old son were injured.

On June 28, russia launched 3,233 strikes on the front line and residential areas.

russian troops focused their fire on 5 settlements: the cities of Bilytske, Kostiantynivka, Lyman, Mirnohrad, and Pokrovsk.

9 civilian objects were destroyed, including 1 residential building.

russians struck Pokrovsk with a GAB-250 bomb and drones, killing a civilian and wounding four others. An administrative building and a civilian building were damaged. car.

In Mirnohrad, an enemy FPV drone injured three civilians, damaging two shopping pavilions, and a private house was damaged by a GAB-250 bomb.

The enemy attacked Kostyantynivka with Uragan MLRS and drones. Two people were injured when an FPV drone hit a civilian car.

In Lyman, the occupiers hit a civilian car with a strike drone – injuring a person, also shelled the city with  Uragan and Grad MLRS, damaging a shopping pavilion.

russian terrorists dropped a  UMPB D-30 bomb on Bilytske, the explosion occurred on the outskirts, previously – without casualties.

Pokrovsk city military administration reported that in Pokrovsk, during the evacuation, the russian military attacked the crew of the White Angels. As a result of the shelling, a police inspector of the service was injured.

According to the State Emergency Service in Donetsk oblast rescuers found fragments of a body under the rubble of a house destroyed by russian shelling. On June 26, the russian army shelled Zakitne of Lyman community with Uragan MLRSs, but due to hostilities, search operations began only on the 28th. The police are identifying the deceased.

Other

Vadim Lyakh, Head of Sloviansk city military administration, says that in Sloviansk, the reconstruction of a hospital storage facility has been completed.  

Rescuer from Mariupol Oleksandr Kurilov received the Order For Courage. The State Emergency Service in Donetsk oblast reports that by Constitution Day he received serious injuries during demining in 2022.

Petro Andryushchenko, Head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation, informs that in temporarily occupied Mariupol, russians were unable to accurately reproduce the sculptures on the facade of the Drama Theater and made them larger. Because of this, they did not fit under the roof and had to be taken away.

Luhansk oblast

The day before, russians stormed towards Lyman 19 times. According to the RMA, in Luhansk oblast they attacked near Novoiehorivka, Nadiia and Hrekivka. There, Ukrainian Defenders are holding their defenses. The enemy opened fire with cannon artillery 34 times. They directed 70 UAVs and 14 more FPV drones.

Since mid-February, russians have blocked traffic on several bridges in Luhansk, promising to repair these infrastructure facilities that were in a state of emergency. Even before that, they tried to limit the movement of trucks there, but this option did not save the situation – it only slightly postponed the repair. It started in March, but the townspeople are dissatisfied with the pace of work. On one of the bridges, which they promised to restore by November 30, reconstruction is in the initial stage. Almost nothing has changed there in four months.

The so-called “lpr” counted more than 90 thousand participants of the all-russian “movement of the firsts” created in 2022, aimed at youth. Among them are 78.3 thousand students and more than 12.2 thousand mentors. The invaders covered the boys and girls from the occupied Luhansk oblast with war propaganda in every community. The primary branches of this organization operate throughout the region.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Gostomel village military administration announced that the restoration of housing damaged as a result of russian aggression is ongoing. A special commission is promptly processing applications from residents who got their homes damaged or lost because of the hostilities. Almost 2,000 compensations have been paid out under the ‘eRestoration’ programme. The total amount of compensation awarded is over UAH 276.6 million, including appeals from residents of the garden communities in the village of Moshchun.

The Veteran Development Centre, based at the Kyiv College of Applied Sciences, has been operating for six months. It has become an important platform for the reintegration of Ukraine’s defenders. At the centre, people can learn a new profession, start their own business, receive psychological support, join a community of like-minded people and return to active social life.

The Regional Military Administration reported that seven communities in Kyiv oblast received school buses purchased from educational subsidies and community co-financing. The modern and comfortable transport is designed for the daily transportation of students to and from educational institutions.

A charity run named ‘Recruit’ was held at the VDNG in Kyiv, dedicated to the memory of military journalist Major Oleksiy Chubashev of the Main Intelligence Directorate. The event is raising funds for drones for the Foreign Legion of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence, where he served. Almost UAH 2 million has already been raised. The programme includes 5 and 10 kilometre races, as well as a symbolic 100 metre race for military personnel undergoing rehabilitation after injury.

Recently, the installation ‘Tree of Hope’ was unveiled on the grounds of the Three Saints Church of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in the village of Volodarka. It is a symbol of memory, faith and hope for soldiers who are considered missing in action.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration announced that on the eve of Ukraine’s Constitution Day, two soldiers from the Radomyshl community, Eduard Hruska and Anton Nikolaev, were posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, III degree, by presidential decree. Both men were members of the Radomyshl Guard, a community organisation dedicated to maintaining public order.

On 28 June, relatives of prisoners of war and missing persons gathered in Zhytomyr for another protest action called ‘Uncertainty and captivity kill’. This time, it was held on Constitution Day to remind society that prisoners in russian captivity are deprived of all rights, so every effort must be made to bring every Ukrainian home from there.

Sumy oblast

Oksana Yezerska, Head of Pidlipne, says that at around 06:00, the russian army attacked the village of Pidlipne in Konotop community with drones. 5 private houses were damaged. The settlement is temporarily without electricity. Public transport in Konotop has been stopped. 

The RMA reported that in Lebedyn, two administrative buildings and 12 private residential buildings were damaged as a result of the attack by russian UAVs. The russian military attacked the city with three drones, one of which did not detonate. The liquidation of the consequences is ongoing at the scene. People are being provided with necessary assistance.

Oleh Hryhorov, Head of Sumy RMA, reports that In Lebedyn, a 36-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were injured in the attack by russian drones. They sought medical help themselves.

From the morning of June 28 to the morning of June 29, russian troops carried out more than 70 attacks on 27 settlements in 10 territorial communities. The largest number of attacks was in Sumy, Shostka and Konotop regions. The enemy actively used the dropping of VOG from UAVs (over 30 strikes) and MLRS (up to 20 strikes) on the territory of Sumy region, and also carried out strikes with FPV drones, GABs and UAVs.

As a result of russian strikes, private residential buildings were damaged in Nova Sloboda community, and a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged in Velyka Pysarivka community.

Local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations from border communities, evacuated 4 people.

In June, the Resilience Center, a space where people can seek advice and support in difficult life situations, began operating in the village of Hudymy in Andriiashivka community. At the center, community residents can receive psychological help, advice on how to overcome crisis situations, assistance in finding a job, and development of parenting skills.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv border detachment reports that russian troops attacked three villages in Semenivka community, which is on the border of Chernihiv oblast. They fired from artillery (25 explosions) and dropped explosives from UAVs (2 explosions). In particular, the villages of Bleshnia, Karpovychi and Zarichchia came under attack. 

On Constitution Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented battle flags to the 300th training tank regiment of the 169th training center named after Prince Yaroslav the Wise and the 5th separate communications regiment of the North Operational Command. As reported by the head of Chernihiv RMA Viacheslav Chaus, these are Chernihiv regiments that held the oblast in 2022, have been fighting on the hottest sections of the front since 2014 and are training professional servicemen.

Former sound engineer of Suspilne Chernihiv Dmytro Hornov was killed in action. He was a platoon commander of the 158th omb and died on June 21, 2025 while performing a combat mission in Sumy oblast. Before the full-scale war, Dmitry was the frontman of the rock band “Vyriy” and wrote songs himself. In 2018, he moved to Chernihiv, where he joined the Suspilne team. In addition, on “Ukrainian Radio Chernihiv” he made the program “To Play or Not to Play?”, where he talked about teaching children music. He also worked with his colleagues on the creation of the film “Battle for Chernihiv”.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, head of the DOC, reports that at night, defenders in Dnipropetrovsk oblast shot down 12 russian UAVs. The enemy also attacked Nikopol region again with drones and artillery. They targeted the regional center, Pokrovske and Marhanets communities.

 

During the day, the enemy attacked Nikopol several times. Drones were launched over the city and artillery was fired upon. The infrastructure was damaged. The occupiers also hit Malomykhailivka community of Synelnykove region with a drone. A 72-year-old man was killed.

Kirovohrad oblast

A peaceful action was held in the city of Pomichna, Novoukrainka region, to commemorate prisoners of war and missing persons. In total, 29 defenders from the community went missing.

Poltava oblast

Poltava RMA reports that the enemy once again carried out a massive combined attack on Poltava oblast. Most of the weapons were shot down by air defense forces and equipment. Due to falling debris, a building at one of the enterprises caught fire in Poltava regions. The fire was extinguished. An extension of a residential building was also damaged. In addition, as a result of a technological failure, 1,614 households and 58 legal consumers in 18 settlements of Lokhvytska and Velykobahachanska communities were left without electricity.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA reports that at night, russians attacked civilian infrastructure. 11 people were injured, including 2 children. Three nine-story buildings were significantly damaged, plus private houses and cars. At least four educational institutions and a psychiatric hospital were also damaged. The academic building of the College of the National University of Food Technologies was almost completely destroyed.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 29 June, the russian army attacked Stepnohirsk. The russians hit an apartment building. As a result of the shelling, a woman was killed.

On 28 June, the occupiers carried out 395 strikes on 13 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy launched one missile strike on Zaporizhzhia. russian troops conducted six airstrikes on Kamianske, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, and Bilohiria. 219 UAVs of various modifications (mostly FPV) attacked Veselianka, Yulivka, Chervonodniprovka, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Ten MLRS attacks targeted Kamianske, Novodanylivka, and Charivne. There were 159 artillery strikes on Kamianske, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Nine reports were received about the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure facilities. A 16-year-old girl was injured as a result of the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia region.

According to the regional department of the State Emergency Service, on 28 June, two fires broke out in Zaporizhzhia oblast due to russian shelling: residential buildings and dry grass were burning. There were no deaths or injuries.

As of 16:00 on 29 June, the Defense Forces are repelling one enemy attack near Malynivka towards Huliaipole. The enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Kamianske three times during the day; one combat clash is ongoing towards Orikhiv direction. Over the past day, 28 June, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled one russian attack towards Orikhiv and two more towards Huliaipole.

Mykolaiv oblast

At night on 29 June, the enemy attacked Mykolaiv with ballistic missiles and several groups of Shahed 131/136 drones. An infrastructure facility was targeted. A fire broke out but was extinguished by rescuers. Warehouse buildings were damaged. There were no casualties. Air defense forces destroyed 19 Shahed-136/131 UAVs over Mykolaiv oblast.

Yesterday morning, 28 June, the russian army carried out an artillery strike and twice attacked Kutsurub community with FPV drones. A private house was damaged in the village of Dmytrivka, and a summer house was destroyed in the village of Lupareve of Halytsynove community.

On the evening of 28 June, the enemy attacked the city of Ochakiv with an FPV drone. There were no casualties.

Odesa oblast

As of 6:00 am on 27 June, two enemy ships were stationed in the Mediterranean Sea. Over the past day, twelve vessels serving russian interests passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea, and four ships entered the Sea of Azov.

Kherson oblast

Around 14:30, the russian army attacked the Tsentralnyi district of Kherson. As a result of the shelling, a man sustained fatal injuries. His identity is currently being established.

Two residents of Bilozerka sought medical assistance after being wounded in a nighttime shelling. Both were diagnosed with blast injuries, concussions, and contusions.

Yesterday, in Kherson, a 61-year-old man sustained fatal injuries from an explosive dropped by a drone. He died at the scene.

Over the past day, the enemy attacked Oleksandrivka, Stanislav, Bilozerka, Zolota Balka, Beryslav, Dariivka, Sofiivka, Shyroka Balka, Mykhailivka, Antonivka, Kizomys, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Naddniprianske, Veletenske, Mykilske, Novooleksandrivka, Vesele, Dudchany, Novoraisk, Novotiahynka, Osokorivka, Tokarivka, Tomaryne, Tiahynka, and the city of Kherson. As a result of the attacks, 9 private houses, a utility building, a bus, and private vehicles were damaged. Eight people were injured due to russian aggression.

During the nighttime drone attack, air defense forces shot down five Shahed-131/136 drones over the region.

The Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to strike enemy positions, fire posts, and rear areas. Over the past day, the enemy lost 32 personnel, 2 artillery systems, 9 units of automotive and armored equipment, 4 electronic warfare systems, 1 Supercam UAV, 3 motorcycles, 1 boat, 3 communication antennas, 1 Starlink antenna, and 1 UAV control antenna. Seventeen shelters/bunkers and one ammunition storage site were destroyed.

Five additional mobile shelters were installed in Bilozerka community. These concrete protective structures were placed in areas without existing shelters or where shelters are too far away. They are intended to protect residents from shrapnel during ongoing russian shelling.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The State Emergency Service of Volyn oblast reported the rotation of Volyn sappers of the State Emergency Service continues in liberated territories of eastern Ukraine – in just one month they have seized over fifty explosive devices during the clearing of agricultural lands.

Zakarpattia oblast

Uzhhorod City Council reported that the III degree For Courage Order was awarded to Senior Sergeant Oleksandr Kovach, commander of a combat vehicle and commander of a mountain assault detachment.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

As a result of the massive shelling, fragments of enemy targets fell on the territory of private farms of Rohatyn and Bilshivtsi communities, Ivano-Frankivsk region. In the village of Vasyuchyn, windows of the Church of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos of the UGCC were damaged, as was the wooden bell tower. In the village of Narayivka, a woman was injured. She was hospitalized in a medical facility. A residential building was damaged.

Lviv oblast

This night, units of the Air Command West destroyed 15 air- and sea-based cruise missiles Kh-101 and 24 strike UAVs of the Shahed type. The russians damaged an industrial facility in Drohobych community. According to the results of research by Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, a slight excess of nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide was determined. Air quality is within normal limits. Water supply is gradually being restored. Electricity was restored to 15 pumping stations in the morning, the rest by the end of the day.

Drohobych RMA together with partners sent 10 FPV drones to the 427th Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems Рарог. Funds for which the combat drones were purchased were collected from charity events organized by a team of volunteers, in particular, by the organizer Mark Tymoshyk. Drohobych RMA and the KOLO Volunteer Center sent a car to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Iryna Tsybukh’s mother received the Order of the Golden Star from the President of Ukraine. Iryna Cheka was a crew leader of the volunteer battalion Hospitaliers, a public figure, and most importantly – a person of great courage.

Rivne oblast

For over 5 hours this night, an alarm was sounded in Rivne oblast. There are enemy air targets shot down. People and infrastructure were not affected. Representatives of the Defense Forces and other services are working on the spot.

Ternopil oblast

The Air Defense Forces managed to shoot down cruise missiles and an enemy UAV of the Geran–2 type. Recorded:

• in the village of Ivane-Zolote, fragments of a strike drone fell and a warhead detonated. The building of an agricultural enterprise was partially damaged.
• In the village of Yabluniv, remains of a Kh-101 cruise missile fell on the territory of a private household. No negative consequences.
• In the village of Lozy, remains of a Kh-101 cruise missile fell on the territory of a private household. A private outbuilding was damaged.

14 Heroes became Honorary Citizens of Ternopil. The awards were received by relatives of defenders of Ukraine, who were posthumously awarded the title Honorary Citizen of the City of Ternopil.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

At night, during the air alert signal, the Air Defense Forces destroyed two Kh-101 missiles and 9 enemy Shahed UAVs. Another 21 enemy Shahed UAVs were lost to tracking. The location of the debris is being determined. As a result of the attack, a power line was damaged, which caused about 150 subscribers in Shepetivskyi region to be disconnected from the power supply, the windows and fence of a private household were damaged, and the windows of a non-functioning school were also damaged.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that by decree of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, Lieutenant Taras Krasovsky was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Mark Rutte, NATO Secretary General, stated that  European and Canadian partners have already promised Ukraine over €35bn in 2025.

Pope Leo XIV attended the service of the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the Vatican. There he discussed with Ukrainian believers, and afterwards expressed condolences to the victims of the russian war.
