As of now, the enemy has attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 84 times, with the most active assaults taking place in the Pokrovsk direction.
Border areas of our country have suffered from Russian artillery shelling, including the settlements of Sosnivka, Bila Bereza, Petrushivka, Bratenytsia, Popivka, Prokhody, Dmytrivka, Simeykyne in Sumy region; Yanzhulivka, Khrinivka in Chernihiv region; and Lemishchyne in Kharkiv region.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted to advance once toward our defenders’ positions near Vovchansk.
Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has conducted one assault in the Kupiansk direction, near Pishchane.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian units repelled 11 attacks in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Kolodiazi, Hryhorivka, and toward Ridkodub, Lypove, Zelena Dolyna, and Olhivka. Three more attacks are currently ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled one enemy assault. The enemy tried to advance toward Hryhorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, six enemy assaults have been recorded. The enemy attacked in the Chasiv Yar area and toward Bila Hora. Three engagements are still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian occupiers conducted four assaults on our defenders’ positions near Toretsk and toward Dyliivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the occupiers launched 25 assaults since the beginning of the day on the positions of our defenders near Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Novosergiivka, Udachne, Novooleksiivka, Novooleksandrivka, Zaporizhzhia, Andriivka, and toward Muravka, Oleksiivka, Nova Poltavka, Yablunivka, Myroliubivka, Zoria, Promin. While holding off the enemy pressure, 22 attacks were repelled, and three engagements are still ongoing. The aggressor’s air force launched guided bomb (KAB) strikes on Poltavka and Rusyn Yar.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the invaders attacked 15 times near Kostiantynopil, Skudne, Pryvilne, Vilne Pole, Shevchenko, Bahatyr, Novopil, and Odradne. Nine attacks have already been repelled.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy launched air strikes on Vysoke and Huliaipole.
In the Orikhiv direction, the occupiers attacked toward Novodanylivka and Mala Tokmachka. Both attacks were repelled.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy attacked four times toward Sadove, but was unsuccessful.
In Kursk region (cross-border attacks), according to current information, our defenders repelled four enemy attacks. Additionally, the enemy carried out five air strikes, dropping ten guided bombs, and conducted 179 artillery shellings, including nine from multiple rocket launchers (MLRS).
In other directions, no significant changes have been observed as of now.
Regarding negotiations: In the event of direct talks in Turkey, President Zelensky will only meet with Putin, as those with a formal ministerial status are unlikely authorized to make critical decisions. Only Putin can decide whether to continue or end the war. Lower-level talks would be meaningless, said Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the Head of the Office of the President.
Russia is holding 13 employees of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) in captivity, with no information available about three of them. Since the start of the occupation, Russia has exerted “unprecedented pressure” on nuclear workers who refused to cooperate with Rosatom. At least 13 employees remain detained: 7 have been “sentenced” by Russian authorities, 3 are awaiting “verdicts”, and 3 are missing. According to the company, around 5,000 specialists have left occupied Enerhodar. Russian forces continue to use the ZNPP as a military base, parking military vehicles and storing explosives in turbine halls of the plant’s reactors.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
According to a report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 4pm, towards Kharkiv, the occupiers tried to advance once towards the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Vovchansk. Lemishchyne came under shelling.
Towards Kupiansk, russians attacked here once since the beginning of the day, near Pishchane.
Towards Lyman, Ukrainian troops repelled 11 attacks, in particular in the areas of Hryhorivka and Olhivka. Three more attacks are ongoing
Over the last day, 166 combat engagements were registered. Towards Kharkiv, Ukrainian troops repelled seven enemy attacks in the areas of Vovchansk and Krasne Pershe.
Five occupants’ attacks took place towards Kupiansk yesterday. Defence forces repelled enemy assaults near Pishchane, Hlushkivka and Novoosynove.
Attacks
An explosion occurred in Kharkiv at approximately 5:17pm. An enemy attack by a Molniya UAV was recorded in Kholodnohirskyi district.
Andrii Kanashevych, Head of Kupiansk Regional Administration, at 4:52pm on 13 May, reported that russian troops struck Nechvolodivka with KABs. An 86-year-old man was killed and a woman was injured. Another woman may be under the rubble.
Over the past day, 3 settlements in Kharkiv oblast came under hostile attack.
A 62-year-old man was injured in Kindrashivka village, and a 51-year-old man was wounded in Ruski Tyshky village.
The enemy used 2 UAVs and 2 fpv drones in Kharkiv oblast.
Two private houses were damaged in Kupiansk region.
Other
Evacuations continue in Kupiansk. Currently, 98 people remain on the left bank of Kupiansk and must leave. There are no longer any communications or opportunities to restore them. Approximately 1,200 people remain on the right bank of the city.
The situation in Borova is difficult. Another 1500 people remain in 29 settlements of the community.
More than 1,000 people are currently living in Velykyi Burluk community, which is also under constant attack by the enemy.
The main institution for rehabilitation care for combatants is the Regional Hospital for War Veterans. There are physical therapy and occupational therapy rooms, individual assistance rooms, psychological support, balneology and massage rooms. Last year, 889 patients underwent comprehensive rehabilitation at the hospital, and in the first quarter of 2025, 215 people have already undergone comprehensive rehabilitation. Free dental prosthetics for veterans is available in 11 medical institutions in the region, and dental treatment is available in 22 institutions.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, reported that 19 underground schools in Kharkiv oblast are being built and are expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
According to him, by the end of the year, about 40,000 children will be able to study in Kharkiv oblast in a mixed format.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
The General Staff said that the russian military has increased the number of attacks towards Novopavlivka. Over the past day, the Defence Forces repelled 24 russian attacks near Kostiantynopil, Bahatyr, Zelene Pole, Novosilky and in the direction of Shevchenko. The day before, there were 13 attacks. Another 60 attacks were stopped by Ukrainian defenders towards Pokrovsk.
Ukrainian troops of the 63rd Brigade captured an Uzbek citizen towards Lyman.
Viktor Trehubov, Spokesman of the Khortytsia military unit, reported that towards Pokrovsk, Lyman, Kramatorsk and Toretsk, Ukrainian troops do not observe any signs of a truce, ceasefire or even a decrease in the intensity of the russian army.

Donetsk oblast. Photo: Facebook/Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s OfficePolice recorded 3,095 hostile strikes. 18 settlements were hit. 59 civilian objects were destroyed, including 43 residential buildings.
Russians conducted two air strikes on the village of Zoria in Illinivka community, killing a civilian. An apartment block and 9 private houses were destroyed.
The enemy dropped a KAB-250 bomb on Svitle of Myrnohrad community, injuring a person, damaging an administrative building and a car.

A civilian was injured in Dorozhnie village as a result of a drone strike.
The russian army attacked Kostiantynivka with three KAB-250 bombs and a drone, damaging 14 private houses.
Russian troops attacked Druzhkivka with two UAVs, damaging an apartment building, a business, and a car.
In Dobropillia, an FPV drone hit a petrol station. A UAV attack in the village of Zolotyi Kolodiaz damaged an outpatient clinic and a private house.

Other
The White Angel crew evacuated six elderly people from Lyman region who needed medical assistance. Law enforcers evacuated a 76-year-old resident from Zarichne who uses a walker to get around. According to her, it was too dangerous to stay at home, so she decided to evacuate. Police evacuated a family from Lyman – a 71-year-old woman with limited mobility and her son. They were taken to Dnipropetrovsk oblast. At the request of neighbours, White Angels evacuated a woman from Yampil who was in a helpless state after a stroke. Another resident of the village also needed medical assistance. Both were taken to hospital.
Volnovakha Regional Military Administration said that 46 residents were evacuated from Komar community in a week. Currently, 265 people remain there. All children were evacuated from the community.
Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, stated that 79 children from eight settlements of Druzhkivka community are being forcibly evacuated. This was the decision of the regional emergencies commission, which was submitted to the military command and the Coordination Headquarters for approval.
Activists of the Yellow Ribbon movement distributed pro-Ukrainian symbols on the streets, in entrances, at public transport stops and in other crowded places in occupied Donetsk.
Luhansk oblast
The invaders stormed both Lyman and Siversk sectors of the frontline. Our defenders prevented their attempts to advance in the areas of Hrekivka, Nadiia and Bilohorivka. Russians received artillery support 12 times. They tried to strike at the fortifications of Ukrainian defenders and the villages around them with 155 unmanned aerial vehicles.
Oleksii Kharchenko, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that in the occupied Siverskodonetsk, at least 360 high-rise buildings are not connected to the heating system. To connect them to the network, about 40km of damaged pipes need to be replaced.
The whole point of russia: to offer rub 2m to a teacher or doctor for moving from the territory of the russian Federation to the so-called “lpr’, and 5m to a director for a few weeks of filming a propaganda film about the occupation of Luhansk oblast. Moreover, the Ministry of Culture of the russian Federation has already invested in the construction of a film studio in the region, where the guest directors will rewrite history. In addition, they will be provided with housing and other conditions. This is much more important for the kremlin than the lack of doctors or the three-year absence of drinking water in the house.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
On Tuesday, 13 May, a peaceful rally was held in Kyiv by relatives of the military held captive by the russians in Chechnya. The rally was attended by relatives of soldiers from different brigades, as well as those who have already returned from russian captivity. Dozens of people gathered near the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. They called for greater efforts to bring Ukrainian prisoners home.

This year, 13 veterans in Kyiv have already received partial compensation from the city for the purchase of a car. The capital provides compensation for the purchase of a car to veterans who received a Group I or II disability due to amputation of a limb or part of it after 24 February 2022.
Zhytomyr oblast
In several communities in Zhytomyr oblast, bomb squads found and destroyed unexploded missile and drone warheads after russian attacks. The police are urging people not to approach suspicious objects and to report about them to the special services.
There are 8 relocated enterprises in the Zhytomyr oblast. Currently, the region offers 25 objects for relocated businesses, including production facilities, warehouses, offices, etc.
Sumy oblast
Over the past day, russian shelling claimed a life in the oblast. In Sumy community, a drone attack targeted an energy service vehicle, killing the driver (a man born in 1981). russian forces carried out nearly 240 shelling attacks on 40 settlements across 16 territorial communities. The highest number of strikes was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy actively deployed guided aerial bombs, MLRS, FPV-drones, and UAV-dropped fragmentation munitions. The attacks included over 10 guided bomb strikes, more than 40 FPV-drone assaults, 80 UAV-dropped munitions, and 50 MLRS strikes. Additionally, three missile strikes were conducted in Sumy oblast, damaging and destroying civilian infrastructure.
In Mykolaiv settlement community, 11 private households, one civilian vehicle, and one tractor were damaged.
In Sumy community, a private household and five vehicles were damaged.
In Yunakivka community, a private house was destroyed.
In Buryn community, a civil infrastructure facility was damaged.
In Bilopillia community, the building of the cultural centre was damaged.
During the day, more than 10 houses were damaged in Vorozhba following another wave of airstrikes. In the morning, russian forces dropped three aerial bombs on the city. Utility structures, power lines, internet cables, and a gas pipeline were also damaged. Throughout the day, russian forces have continued launching guided aerial bombs towards the Bilopillia, Vorozhba, and Richky communities.
Over the past day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and civil society organisations from border communities, evacuated 920 people.
During the day, the air raid alert in the oblast lasted for 8 hours and 18 minutes.
Chernihiv oblast
In Chernihiv oblast, three defenders were laid to rest. Pavlo Bakhmach sustained a severe injury in Sumy oblast on 2 May. His life was fought for in one of Kyiv’s hospitals, but on 11 May 2025, his warrior’s heart stopped. Oleksandr Kryvotsiuk passed away on 5 May 2025 in Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Andrii Yakovenko passed away on 11 May 2025.
Over the past day, russian forces attacked 22 villages in three border communities of Chernihiv oblast. The enemy used aircraft-type UAVs, FPV-drones, mortars, and barrel artillery, dropping explosive devices from drones. As a result, a non-residential house in one of the villages caught fire.
Novhorod-Siversk community:
- Hremiach: one strike, FPV-drone.
- Krasnyi Khutir: three strikes, FPV-drones.
- Kamianska Sloboda: three strikes, FPV-drones, and three more strikes by barrel artillery.
- Bohdanove: one strike, FPV-drone.
- Buchky: one strike, FPV-drone.
- Poliushkyne: one strike, aircraft-type UAV (according to Operational Command ‘North,’ it is likely a ‘Lancet’ UAV).
- Mykhalchyna Sloboda: one strike, FPV-drone.
Semenivka community:
- Zaliznyi Mist: eight strikes, 120mm mortar.
- Leonivka: six strikes, UAV-dropped explosive devices.
- Liskivshchyna: five strikes, UAV-dropped explosive devices.
- Bleshnia: two UAV-dropped explosive devices.
- Zarichchia: two UAV-dropped explosive devices, causing a non-residential house to catch fire.
- Prohress: one strike, UAV-dropped explosive device.
- Arkhipivka: six strikes, 120mm mortar; five UAV-dropped explosive devices; six FPV-drone strikes.
- Yanzhulivka: two FPV-drone strikes; 12 strikes by a 120mm mortar.
- Tymonovychi: two UAV-dropped explosive devices; 20 strikes by barrel artillery; 20 strikes by a 120mm mortar.
Snovsk community:
- Huta-Studenetska – 12 strikes, UAV-dropped explosive devices, and eight FPV-drone explosions.
- Kliusy – one strike, UAV-dropped explosive device; three FPV–drone strikes; 22 strikes by a 120mm mortar.
- Yeline: one strike, UAV-dropped explosive device.
- Luka: one strike, UAV-dropped explosive device.
- Novi Borovychi: four aircraft-type UAV strikes (according to Operational Command ‘North,’ likely ‘Molniya’ UAVs), damaging an educational institution.
- Hirsk: two strikes, UAV-dropped explosive devices.
A family-type children’s home, which was evacuated from the border area, will be provided with housing in Chernihiv. Currently, the family is raising four children who have been deprived of parental care, along with one adult from this category (a child over 18 who is still studying and can remain in the home until the age of 23). Chernihiv City Council will handle the search and purchase of the housing.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
During the night and in the morning, russian forces attacked Nikopol region by kamikaze drones, artillery and Grad MLRS. The regional centre, Pokrov, Marhanets and Myrove communities were under attack. There were no casualties reported.
During the day, the occupiers carried out approximately 20 attacks on Nikopol region by kamikaze drones and artillery. The strikes targeted the regionalcentre, Pokrov, Marhanets and Myrove communities. In Nikopol, a 50-year-old man was injured by a drone strike; he received necessary medical treatment. A multi-story residential building, a municipal utility facility, a private house, infrastructure and a power line were damaged. Also, russian forces struck Novopavlivka community in Synelnykove region. 1 man was injured and hospitalised in moderate condition. A vehicle was damaged.
Kirovohrad oblast
In Kropyvnytskyi, a memorial ceremony was held for 52-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Valentyn Vedmedera, who was killed on 30 April 2025, near Harbuzivka village in Lebedyn region of Sumy oblast.
Poltava oblast
Poltava oblast mourns the loss of defenders Vasyl Kvashuk, who was killed on 9 May 2025, in Sumy oblast, and Ihor Khamidullin, who was killed on 16 April 2025, while carrying out a combat mission near Novoolevivka village in Donetsk oblast.
A memorial plaque was installed on the facade of the lyceum named after Nina Herasymenko in Karlivka in honour of its alumnus, Volodymyr Krainyi, serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was killed on 11 May 2024, during a combat mission in Donetsk oblast.
Poltava City Council has approved the installation of 7 memorial plaques in honour of fallen Ukrainian defenders, including 2 Heroes of Ukraine – Yulian Matviichuk and Vladyslav Buvalkin.
Cherkasy oblast
Vitalii Polishchuk, a defender from Uman, died from injuries sustained during shelling in Donetsk oblast. Uman community declared 13 May a day of mourning in his honour.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Defence Forces in Orikhiv region repelled 6 russian attacks near Mala Tokmachka, Mali Shcherbaky and Pavlivka in Zaporizhzhia oblast. On Huliaipole region, russian forces did not carry out any assault operations.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that a 72-year-old man was injured as a result of a russian FPV drone attack on a civilian car in one of the frontline communities of Zaporizhzhia oblast.
On 12 May, the russian military launched 454 strikes on 14 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Specifically, 255 drones attacked Bilenke, Lobkove, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne and Novodarivka.
Mykolaiv oblast
According to Mykolaiv RMA, on the night of 13 May, the air defence forces destroyed 4 Shahed drones in the oblast. Also, at 2:25am, an FPV drone attacked Ochakiv city.
On 12 May, russian forces attacked Kutsurub community by FPV drones twice. As a result of one of the strikes, windows and the roof of an unused building in Dmytrivka village were damaged.
Odesa oblast
As reported by the Ukrainian Navy, as of 6am, no enemy ships were present in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. In the Mediterranean Sea, 4 enemy ships were recorded, 1 of which is a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo of up to 8 missiles.
Kherson oblast
According to the police, as a result of shelling in Kherson oblast, 20 objects were damaged. The russian forces targeted settlements in Kherson, Beryslav and Kakhovka regions by artillery, mortars, MLRS, aviation and UAVs. Law enforcement opened 17 criminal proceedings under Article 438 War Crimes of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As reported by the RMA, on 12 May, a 47-year-old woman sought medical attention after being caught in a russian shelling in Kherson. She sustained mine-explosive injuries and a back wound. She will be treated on an outpatient basis.
The police reported that 2 residents of Krupytsia village in Beryslav region were evacuated. A 70-year-old woman and her 44-year-old son were relocated to a safe place. Their house was destroyed due to russian shelling.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, said that on 12 May, russian forces shelled 34 settlements in Kherson oblast. 10 private houses, a post office, warehouse premises and vehicles were damaged. 2 people, including a child, were injured.
Referring to the RMA, a resident of Antonivka, sought medical help after being injured in a russian shelling on 8 May. The man sustained mine-explosive injuries.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine
Volyn oblast
An initiative to create supported living units, funded by the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine, is being implemented in Torchyn community. Renovation work is already underway in 5 locations located in the villages of Smolyhiv, Sarnivka, Voyutin and in the village of Torchyn itself. These premises will be rebuilt into cozy homes for internally displaced persons, the elderly and people with disabilities. The goal is to create safe living conditions and improve social support.
Zakarpattia oblast
Senior Soldier Anatolii Tehza, Commander of the Carpathian Sich tactical group, from the Zakarpattia oblast, was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine (posthumously). The Order of the Golden Star will be received by the family of the fallen soldier.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Ivano-Frankivsk community increased subventions UAH 2m to the 80th Brigade.
Lviv oblast
The President of Ukraine awarded Pioneer Vira, Defender of Sheptytskyi, with the III degree Order of Princess Olga. She has been serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since July 2022. Since May 2024, she has held the position of unmanned aerial vehicle operator.
In Rozvadiv community, in the courtyard of the local church, memorial plaques were consecrated in honor of the soldiers, residents of the village of Veryni: Mykola Fedoryk, Mykhailo Melnyk, Taras Protsiv, Dmytro Kyshlar, Pavlo Vasyliv, Yurii Rozlutskyi, Roman Dyak. Relatives, acquaintances, local residents, representatives of the authorities and clergy came to honor the memory of the defenders.
In Sambir, the 1st Veteran Development Center in the oblast has been opened on the basis of a college. It will help and promote the return to peaceful life of veterans, military personnel, members of their families and families of the deceased, providing psychological, social, and professional support.
Rivne oblast
Mothers of children with disabilities, women with disabilities, internally displaced persons, as well as mothers and wives of deceased or missing defenders of Berezniv region baked buns for wounded servicemen. This event was held in Berezniv community as part of the Bread of Unity project to support women from crisis categories.
Ternopil oblast
A memorial plaque to the fallen soldier Valerii Danyliuk was unveiled in Ternopil. The plaque was installed on the facade of the apartment building where Valery lived with his family.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
50 FPV drones sent to the 50th Semyon Vysochan Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine from Khmelnytskyi community.
Chernivtsi oblast
A memorial plaque was unveiled at Cherepkovets educational institution, Hlybochchyna region, in honor of graduate Andrii Druchuk. He gave his life defending Ukraine from russian occupiers.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Luxembourg will provide €10m to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine.
Kristen Michal, Estonian Prime Minister, stated on the social network X that Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have called on putin to unconditionally declare a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. Otherwise, they promise the russian leader a “decisive” response.
The International Civil Aviation Organization called russia responsible for the crash of the Malaysian Boeing MH17 in 2014. The organization’s council concluded that the russian authorities were responsible for the crash of a passenger plane in the skies over Donbas on 17 July, 2014, and that russia had violated the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, which prohibits the use of weapons against civilian aircraft in the air.
