War in Ukraine today: latest news, 12 March 2025 (photo)

It has been the 1113 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy does not stop trying to advance into the depths of Ukraine’s territory. To date, the enemy has attacked the positions of the Defence Forces 66 times. It is most active on the Pokrovske and Toretske directions.  

Russian artillery shelling affected the border areas of our country, in particular the settlements of Oleksandrivka, Baranivka, Starykove, Komarivka in Sumy oblast; Arkhipivka in Chernihiv oblast.  

The enemy attacked our positions six times in the Kupyansk sector, near the towns of Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Zahryzove, and one firefight is still ongoing.  

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks near Myrne.

Towards Siversk, four firefights were registered, with fighting still ongoing in the area of Verkhnokamianske and Ivan-Darivka.

Towards Toretsk, there were nine hostile attacks. The enemy attacked in the areas of Toretsk, Druzhba and Ozaryanivka. Our defenders are fighting back with dignity, and four combat engagements are currently underway.  

The situation is the hottest towards Pokrovsk and since the beginning of the day, the occupants have already launched 27 attacks on the positions of our defenders near the settlements of Vodiane Druhe, Elizavetivka, Novotoretske, Promin, Dachenske, Novoukrainka, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Nadiivka and Andriivka. The defence forces repelled 17 enemy attacks, ten of which are still ongoing. The enemy’s aviation carried out air strikes with anti-aircraft gunships on Pokrovsk and Leontovychi.  

Towards Novopavlivka, the invaders attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops six times near the settlements of Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv and Burlatske, and Ukrainian defenders repelled all the enemy attacks.  

Towards Huliaipole, our defenders repelled three enemy attacks in the areas of Pryvilne and Novodarivka. The settlements of Novopil and Huliaipole were attacked by air with unguided missiles.  

Towards Orikhiv, the invaders, supported by attack aircraft, are attacking in the area of Piatykhatky and in the direction of Novoandriivka, and have managed to repel one attack, while two more are ongoing.

Towards Kharkiv, Kramatorsk and Kherson, the enemy did not conduct any active offensive actions today.  

Towards Kursk, according to the information currently available, our defenders repelled one attack. In addition, the enemy carried out three air strikes, dropping four guided aerial bombs, and fired 144 artillery shells, including eight from multiple launch rocket systems.  

No significant changes have been observed in other areas.

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline

The Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff reported at 4pm that the russian army attacked Ukrainian positions six times towards Kupiansk near Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Zahryzove. One firefight is ongoing.

The RMA reported that yesterday towards Kharkiv, the enemy conducted eight offensives in the direction of Hlyboke and Vovchansk.

Towards Kupiansk, 13 enemy attacks took place. The defence forces repelled the enemy’s assault near Nova Kruhliakivka, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Bohuslavka and Zahryzove.

Oleksandr Danylenko, head of the media relations group of the Hart brigade, said that if, following the intensification of russian military activity in Kursk oblast, the occupiers‘ units are redeployed to the north of Kharkiv oblast, Ukrainian defenders are ready to fight back.

Attacks

The Regional Military Administration reported that a 60-year-old man sustained an explosive wound in Kupiansk. The man was hospitalised with a chest injury, the regional administration said.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv community, stated that a russian FPV drone hit a civilian ZIL truck of a farm. The strike occurred outside of Liutivka.

The munition did not detonate

At 4:30am, a house was damaged by a guided aerial bomb in Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region.

At 3:08am, a Shahed drone strike caused a fire in a warehouse building in Buhaivka,.

At 12:55am, a 51-year-old woman was injured when a Shahed drone hit a tree and was diagnosed with an acute stress reaction in Shevchenkivskyi district. Two private houses were damaged (windows were smashed), a garage and an outbuilding.

Yesterday the occupiers fired at least 8 multiple launch rocket launchers and 13 unmanned aerial vehicles at the civilian population of Kharkiv oblast.

At 11:40pm, a Shahed UAV hit was recorded in Siryi Yar village, Kupiansk region. There were no casualties.

At 11:25pm, a private house was damaged by a Shahed UAV in Derhachi community.

At 10pm, six private houses and a street gas pipeline were damaged by shelling in Buhaivka.

At 4:34pm, the remains of a Shahed UAV were found in a forest belt in Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv.

At 3:30pm, two unmanned aerial vehicles hit an open area in Stetskivka village, Kupiansk region.

At 12:14pm, the remains of a Shahed UAV were found in a field in Ternova.

Other

The RMA reported that since the beginning of 2025, 1,851 people have been evacuated from all directions, including 249 children.

Surveys and demining have been carried out in Kharkiv oblast: 29,818 hectares of territory, including 9,746 hectares of farmland, and 245,388 explosive devices were defused.

The Prosecutor General’s Office said that Kharkiv oblast is second only to Donetsk oblast in terms of the number of children killed and wounded since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion. In total, about 2,390 children have suffered as a result of russia’s full-scale armed aggression: 601 children were killed and more than 1,788 wounded.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, informed that the family medicine outpatient clinic in Derhachi, which was 60% destroyed by russian shelling of the town on 8 April 2022, has been rebuilt. The new building is one floor higher, adapted for people with limited mobility and has alternative power sources.

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

Maksym Bilousov, head of the 60th Brigade’s communications department, reported that the situation towards Lyman remains complicated, with russian troops conducting air strikes on Ukrainian positions in recent weeks and increasingly using “chess pieces” against Ukrainian positions.

The General Staff reported in the morning brief that Ukrainian defence forces stopped 68 russian military assaults towards Pokrovsk.

The russian army attacked 33 times in the Liman sector and 32 times towards Toretsk. Towards Pokrovsk, the Ukrainian Defence Forces stopped 68 attacks by the russian military in the vicinity of settlements: Novotoretske, Vodiane Druhe, Promin, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Zelene, Zvirove, Leontovychi, Serhiivka, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Nadiivka, Preobrazhenka, Bohdanivka, Oleksiivka, Shevchenko, Kotliarivka, Ulakly and Andriivka.

Attacks

In the morning, russian troops attacked Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Two residents of Pokrovsk and one person in Myrnohrad were killed, and two elderly people were wounded, the Donetsk region prosecutor’s office said.

At 2:20am, russia hit Kostiantynivka with Smerch multiple rocket launchers, damaging 8 private houses, a car, 2 gas pipelines, and 2 power lines.

The day before, russians killed seven residents of Donetsk oblast, including two children, and injured 13 others. Police recorded 3,251 hostile attacks along the frontline and in the residential sector. Nine settlements were under attack: Bilytske, Kostiantynivka, Mykolaivka, Pokrovsk, Rodynske, Siversk, Sloviansk, Molocharka and Rivne. 52 civilian objects were damaged, including 28 residential buildings.

The village of Rivne of Myrnohrad community was shelled by russian troops – two children were killed and two more people were wounded, including a child. A private house was damaged.

In Rodynske, russian FPV drones hit two civilian minibuses, killing one person and injuring two others.

In Pokrovsk, the enemy hit a civilian car with an FPV drone, killing one person and injuring another. The shelling damaged 1 apartment block and 6 private houses, a maternity ward, and a bank building.

A FAB-250 bomb hit Siversk, leaving three civilians dead and three wounded. Two apartment buildings were destroyed.

The russians dropped 4 FAB-250 bombs on Kostyantynivka and shelled the town with Smerch MLRS and drones, injuring 4 people and damaging 9 apartment buildings, a hospital, 2 businesses, housing and communal services, 6 civilian cars, gas pipelines and power lines.

There is a wounded person in Molocharka of Kostiantynivka community, which was subjected to a bomb attack. In Sloviansk, a bomb damaged three private houses and an outbuilding.

Other

Six children remain in settlements of Donetsk oblast where forced evacuation of families with children has been introduced. According to the RMA, in total, 211 children still remain in the areas of active hostilities.

The number of applications for evacuation from Kostiantynivka has increased. Every day, the White Angel police unit makes 3-4 flights to Kostiantynivka community. They mainly evacuate the elderly, lonely people and people with disabilities. A mandatory element of police equipment is a gun to shoot down drones.

Luhansk oblast

The invaders attacked more than 30 times towards Lyman. Six more times – towards Siversk. According to the RMA, combat actions took place, in particular, in Bilohorivka and near Hrekivka. The enemy fired 14 times from cannon artillery. They sent 287 unmanned aerial vehicles towards our defensive fortifications.

The total amount of environmental damage in Luhansk oblast is almost UAH 618bn. This amount includes both the contamination of land with ammunition, mines and chemicals and the consequences of large-scale forest fires that raged this year. No one extinguished the burned-out forests, villages burned, including in the occupied territories, which led to significant environmental damage and loss of life.

The invaders can issue a veteran’s bank card only in the settlements captured in 2014. The service is available in 14 offices. In none of the cities occupied in 2022 is this function available even if you have a russian passport.

In 2024, the largest percentage of deserters in the russian army was observed in the units of the southern military district, which covers the occupied territories. 65% of deserters are persons enrolled in the formations of the so-called “lpr” and “dpr”, who were mostly subjected to forced mobilisation.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The RMA reported that the enemy attacked oblast using a UAV. The consequences of the enemy attack were recorded in 4 districts. In one of the settlements of Fastiv  region, a furniture store on the area of 500 square metres caught fire. One private house was damaged in Obukhiv and Brovary  regions. In Vyshhorod region, a fire on a grass flooring was extinguished.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reported that Dominic Abelen, a soldier of the International Legion of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, call sign Tolkien, was given a last tribute in Kyiv. 28-year-old Dominic Abelen was a citizen of New Zealand, a representative of the indigenous Maori people.

In Vasylkiv, construction of a nine-storey building has resumed on the site of a house that was destroyed by a russian missile in late February 2022. A new 96-apartment building on Dekabrystiv Street is being built with shelter and inclusivity in mind.

With the support of UNDP Ukraine and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), a gymnasium is to be rebuilt in Kyiv oblast. The educational institution in the village of Myrcha, which was severely damaged by russian troops in March 2022, needed comprehensive reconstruction. The school is to be equipped according to the New Ukrainian School model.

In Kyiv oblast, additional areas were added to the programme of the basic course for preparing the population for national resistance: countering enemy IPSO and military English. The centre was launched in late 2023 and has already proven its effectiveness: last year, almost 3,000 people were trained here. All of the Centre’s instructors are veterans of a full-scale war with combat and instructional experience.

A new subject, Defence of Ukraine, is being introduced in educational institutions in Kyiv oblast. 69 centres have been set up to teach the subject, and more than 27,000 students are already studying under the new model programme.

The International Cyber Resilience Forum has started in Kyiv. The two-day programme of the forum includes panel discussions and speeches by experts from various sectors on cyber resilience. At the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the European Cyber Security Centre and the National Security and Defence Council’s Coordination Centre for Cyber Security.

Zhytomyr oblast

Ovruch is planning to renovate its lyceum and city hospital. €16m will be allocated by Norway through the international financial institution NEFCO as part of a project to support the reconstruction and green recovery of Ukraine.

According to the RMA, there are 55,800 internally displaced persons in the Zhytomyr oblast. Among them are 14,600 children, 2,900 people with disabilities, 21,300 – able-bodied persons, 11,300 – retired persons, 35,000 families, of which 369 are large families.

Sumy oblast

In the morning of 12 March, the russian army struck Rozhkovychi village in Seredyna-Buda community. According to Kseniia Piatnytsia, Head of the executive committee of Seredyna-Buda City Council, as a result of the attack, one man was killed, and another resident was injured. Due to a subsequent drone attack at 12:30pm, a two-story building of the starosta’s office was damaged.

Serhii Bespalko, Head of Velyka Pysarivka Military Administration, informed that on 12 March, in Dmytrivka village in Velyka Pysarivka community, a 70-year-old man was injured by an anti-personnel mine “Lepestok.” He was hospitalized.

According to the City Military Administration, on the evening of 11 March, a russian drone struck infrastructure in Sumy. As a result of the strike, a warehouse was damaged. According to the delivery company “Delivery,” the strike destroyed cargo, primarily intended for people from Hlukhiv and Shostka. This is the third such incident in recent times. The company has committed to fully compensating the losses for the affected individuals.

During night and morning, russians carried out 8 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 21 explosions by different types of weapons. The attacks targeted Sumy, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Velyka Pysarivka, and Esman communities.

In the skies over Sumy oblast, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 16 enemy Shaheds.

During the past day, on 11 March, russian forces carried out 81 attacks in Sumy oblast. A total of 194 explosions were recorded. The enemy used artillery (121 explosions), mortars (19 explosions), anti-tank grenade launchers (5 explosions), FPV-drones (30 explosions), guided aerial bombs (5 explosions), and dropped explosive munitions from UAVs (21 explosions). Nine communities came under enemy fire: Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Khutir-Mykhailivskyi, and Seredyna-Buda.

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that as a result of the shelling of Myropillia community, a civilian was injured, and one private house was destroyed.

In the morning of 11 March, the russian army attacked Mohrytsia in Yunakivka community by two guided aerial bombs (GABs). According to Olena Sima, the Head of the Community, three houses were damaged. Windows were shattered, one house sustained roof damage, and a barn caught fire.

In Khotin community, it has been announced that transportation between the settlements of Kindrativka starosta district and Khotin is temporarily suspended until Monday, 17 March. This decision is due to the deteriorating security situation and increased shelling.

Chernihiv oblast

The russian forces attacked 10 villages in three border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk — throughout the day on 11 March. A total of 36 strikes were recorded. According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, the enemy carried out shelling with barrel artillery (18 explosions), FPV-drones (9 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (9 explosions).

As a result of the shelling of Yasna Polyana village in Novhorod-Siverskyi community by an FPV-drone, two outbuildings were damaged.

In Nizhyn, UAH 41.9m will be allocated for the construction of new shelters in two preschool institutions. This decision was supported by the city council deputies during a session. According to Nizhyn Mayor Oleksandr Kodola, most kindergartens in the city are currently not operating due to the lack of shelters.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

From evening until nightfall, the enemy massively attacked the area with Shaheds. In total, air defence forces destroyed 19 enemy UAVs. A UAV hit the Dnipro river. A 42-year-old man was injured. He sought medical assistance on his own. He was hospitalised in moderate condition. The enemy strikes caused fires in the city, including at enterprises. Two private houses and a garage were partially destroyed. An outbuilding was damaged, windows in educational institutions and private homes were smashed. 

The fire also occurred in Kryvyi Rih oblast. The infrastructure was damaged there. During the day, the occupants fired several times at Nikopol region. They fired with artillery and kamikaze drones at the district centre and Marhanets community. The infrastructure was damaged. In the evening, a 64-year-old woman was injured by an enemy drone strike in Marhanets community. 

In the morning, 16 people were injured in Kryvyi Rih. There were two hits to a hotel, administrative buildings, 15 apartment buildings, 4 shops, a driving school, an unused building, 6 garages, more than two dozen cars, a trolleybus and infrastructure were damaged. A woman was killed. She was travelling in a transport. She was killed by the fragments of a window that flew out due to the blast wave. Nine people were injured, seven are in hospital. Two are in serious condition, one is critical. Emergency medics arrived at the scene after the first explosion, but the russians struck again. The doctors managed to hide, but their vehicle was damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

​Serhii Morhunov, Mayor of Vinnytsia, announced that it has become known that sixteen defenders from the Vinnytsia oblast were killed. These are Oleh Morozov, Oleksandr Denysiuk, Ivan Honcharuk, Mykola Semykopnyi, Volodymyr Bondar, Oleksandr Hlukhenkyi, Serhii Hulevatyi, Denys Kulchar, Serhii Plotnikov, Ihor Vasylnych, Anatolii Solovei, Oleksii Savkevych, Serhii Denezhka, Bohdan Barbadyn, Ihor Zahnoia and Viktor Kuchera.

The community of the German twin city of Karlsruhe donated a minibus to Vinnytsia. The minibus is on the balance sheet of Vinnytsia City Veterans’ Space “Pobratym” municipal institution, has already started working and is transporting veterans.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andriy Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that at night, mobile firing teams worked in Kirovohrad oblast. No consequences were recorded in communities of the oblast. 

The 121st Separate Territorial Defence Brigade reported that the brigade’s fighters shot down a russian reconnaissance drone used by the russian military for aerial photography, surveillance and fire control.

In Kirovohrad oblast, explosives experts examined and detonated the warhead of a cruise missile that did not explode. This was reported by Vitalina Bevzenko, a spokeswoman for the regional police.

In Novoarkhanhelsk and Svitlovodsk, the military said goodbye to Oleksandr Nikolko, who was killed on 2 October 2024 near the town of Hirnyk, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk oblast, at the age of 40. And Danylo Kremsa, who was killed on 9 March near of Novoserhiivka, Udachna community, Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast.

Poltava oblast

Defending Ukraine, a soldier Ihor Yatsenko was killed. The soldier died as a result of artillery shelling. He was 35 years old.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy oblast, said that the Air Armed forces in Cherkasy oblast destroyed three “chekers”. There was no damage to infrastructure and casualties.

On 23 February, a serviceman from Cherkasy oblast, Nazar Lymarenko, was killed while performing a combat mission in Donetsk oblast. He was 44 years old.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Today, on 12 March, кussian forces attacked a volunteer vehicle with a drone in the frontline town of Orikhiv. The vehicle was damaged. There were no casualties or injuries.

Yesterday, the occupiers carried out 267 attacks on 11 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy conducted 15 airstrikes on Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodarivka. 123 drones of various types attacked Kushuhum, Malokaterynivka, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. Nine MLRS strikes targeted Kamianske, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodarivka. Additionally, 120 artillery strikes hit Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. There were 13 reports of damage to apartments, private houses, and vehicles.

Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks near Pryvilne and Novodarivka towards Huliaipole. The invaders, supported by assault aviation, are attacking near Piatykhatky ann near Novoandriivka towards Orikhiv. As of 4pm on 12 March, one enemy attack has been repelled, while two others are ongoing.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, on 11 March, at 9:48am, the enemy carried out an artillery strike on the waters of Ochakiv community. Additionally, russian forces attacked Kutsurub community four times using FPV drones. As a result of one of the attacks a power line was damaged in the village of Parutyne. While repair work was underway, the enemy launched a second FPV drone strike, which damaged a repair crew’s vehicle. There were no casualties.

Also, yesterday at 12:30pm, the enemy attacked Halytsynove community with a strike drone, the type of which is being determined. As a result of the shelling three residential buildings were damaged in the village of Luparove. There were no casualties.

Odesa oblast

Yesterday evening, russia struck the port of Odesa. A ballistic missile damaged the vessel MJ PINA under the flag of Barbados, which was loading wheat for export to Algeria at the time of the attack. Four people, all Syrian citizens, were killed. Two others, a Ukrainian and a Syrian, were injured. Another vessel, piers, and grain storage warehouses were also damaged.

As of 6am on 12 March, one enemy carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles was present in the Black Sea, with a total salvo capacity of up to four missiles. There were four enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, including three carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a combined salvo capacity of up to 26 missiles.

Over the past 24 hours, eight vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in russia’s interest, while seven ships entered the Sea of Azov.

Kherson oblast

Around 11am, russian forces shelled Kherson with artillery. A 45-year-old woman was injured in the attack, suffering a blast injury and shrapnel wound to the head.

A man injured in the russian shelling of Kherson on the morning of 5 March sought medical attention. The 53-year-old resident was diagnosed with a blast injury and concussion.

Yesterday, russian forces attacked Beryslav, Antonivka, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka, Bilozerka, Osokorivka, Novooleksandrivka, Chervonyi Maiak, Zolota Balka, Novovorontsovka, Dudchany, Respublikanets, Sofiivka, Mykilske, Mykolaivka, Virivka, Veletenske, Zmiivka, Shyroka Balka, Novodmytrivka, Prydniprovske, Zelenivka, Burhunka, Matrosivka, Dniprovske, Zymivnyk, Ivanivka, Kozatske, Komyshany, Novotiahynka, Odradokamianka, Olhivka, Romashkove, Sablukivka, Sadove, Tokarivka, Tomyna Balka, Tiahynka, Chornobaivka, Shliakhove, Yantarne, and the city of Kherson with artillery fire and airstrikes. As a result of these attacks, three apartment buildings, eight private houses, a gas pipeline, outbuildings, and private vehicles were damaged. Two people were killed, and seven others were wounded, including two children.

Police evacuated a wounded woman and the body of her deceased son from the heavily shelled village of Zolota Balka in Kherson oblast. A 59-year-old man was struck by a russian drone attack while outside and suffered fatal injuries. His 92-year-old mother was also injured, sustaining a shrapnel wound to her shoulder.

The enemy attempted two assaults on our defenders’ positions on the Prydniprovske front, but failed. Over the past day, russian losses amounted to 144 personnel, 6 artillery systems, 8 vehicles and armored units, 11 motorcycles, 3 ATVs, 5 boats, 7 electronic warfare systems, 1 Starlink antenna, 2 UAV control antennas, 2 communication antennas. Additionally, 21 shelters/bunkers, 3 observation posts, and 1 field fuel storage facility were destroyed.

Humanitarian aid efforts continue to support residents of frontline communities in Kherson oblast. The organization Global Empowerment Mission, in partnership with The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, delivered over 850 food kits to residents of Tiahynka community. Additionally, volunteers from ADRA Ukraine, with the support of the UN World Food Programme, delivered more than 1,500 kits to the same area. A UN humanitarian convoy delivered generators, hygiene kits, medical supplies, and other essentials to one of the frontline communities in Kherson oblast.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

A meeting of the Coordination Center for Support of the Civilian Population of the oblast was held. The key topic of the meeting was improving the social support system for veterans, military personnel, people with disabilities and the elderly.

Zakarpattia oblast

The Clinical Perinatal Center of Uzhhorod City Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital received 2 incubators for premature babies. The humanitarian aid was provided by the Ukraine Hilfe Halle e.V. Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

On 11 March, a terrorist attack took place in Ivano-Frankivsk. A man was killed as a result of an explosion near the railway station, his identity is being established. Three more people were injured and hospitalized. One person is in serious condition. Medics are currently fighting for her life.

Nearby, in an apartment building, another explosion occurred a short time later, setting the roof on fire. 15 people had to be evacuated. Four were rescued by firefighters from blocked apartments on the upper floors of the building. The fire has been extinguished.

The SSU and the National Police have established that the russian special service blew up 2 of its own agents who were carrying an improvised explosive device near the railway station. The enemy’s accomplices turned out to be 2 local residents, 15 and 17 years old, whom the russian federation recruited through Telegram channels in search of easy money. As a result of the incident, the 17-year-old attacker was killed on the spot, and his 15-year-old accomplice was hospitalized with serious injuries. At the same time, the occupiers remotely detonated a 2nd explosive device left in a rented apartment. Currently, the 15-year-old suspect has been notified of suspicion under several articles. The sanction of the articles provides for life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Lviv oblast

A dental care center has been created on the basis of Zolochiv Central District Hospital. It will provide urgent dental care to children and adults. Services are free of charge for combatants, war veterans, persons with disabilities as a result of the war, and military personnel. It will also provide free dental prosthetics services for defenders.

A large-scale transfer of cars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine took place in Lviv thanks to the HeroCar project from the Ruslan Shostak CF sent 35 cars to defenders. They were sent to the military in Kursk, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts.

Over 30 children, fallen defenders and missing soldiers, went on a rehabilitation trip to Poland. These are 33 children aged 7 to 12. They will spend 2 weeks in the city of Bielsko-Biala Dunajec. The children will be given developmental classes, excursions, swimming pools and thermal baths. The trip was financed by the Rotary Club of Zamosc Ordynacki.

Rivne oblast

At night, the Air Defense Forces shot down 5 enemy air targets over the oblast. Relevant services are working at the sites of the shooting down. People and infrastructure were not harmed.

Ternopil oblast

The Army Aid from Ternopil set off on another trip to defenders at the front. Volunteers headed to Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblast. In addition to addressed parcels from relatives, they handed over generators, pipes for stoves, shoes, clothes, camouflage nets, first-aid kits, and food. Also, a special ground drone, electronic warfare systems, quadcopters and a pickup truck for the territorial defense unit.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In Khmelnytskyi oblast, 26 vehicles were sent to the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine thanks to the initiative of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council (VAR).

Chernivtsi oblast

The 1st regional stage of the Sokil military-patriotic game (Jura) has ended in Vyzhnytsia oblast. Let us remind you that the all-Ukrainian children’s and youth military-patriotic game Sokil (Jura) is held with the aim of educating patriotic citizens, defenders of the state independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Pawel Zalewski, Polish Deputy Defense Minister, announced that the supply of military aid from the US has been resumed.

The Maxar Technologies American company has restored Ukraine’s access to satellite images. After the US stopped supplying military aid and transferring intelligence to Ukraine, the aerospace company Maxar Technologies cut off Ukraine’s access to its satellite images.

The number of Ukrainian refugees in the EU increased by over 25,000 per month. Compared to the end of December 2024, the total number of persons under temporary protection in the EU at the end of January increased by 25,530 (+0.6%). During the month, another 8,800 people arrived in Germany, 6,360 in the Czech Republic, and 3,050 in Spain. Leaders in terms of the number of Ukrainian refugees remain Germany (1,170,250 people; 27.3% of the total number in the EU), Poland (993,015; 23.2%) and the Czech Republic (394,985; 9.2%).
