Russian invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders. Ukrainian defence forces are disrupting the enemy’s insidious plans, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment.
On 22 February, there were 54 combat engagements on the frontline.
Border settlements, in particular Yanzhulivka and Mykolaivka in Chernihiv oblast, are suffering from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian federation.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy attacked four times near Vovchansk, Fiholivka and Zakhidne, and one firefight is currently ongoing.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attempted to advance near Zahryzove and was repelled.

Terrorist troops conducted air strikes on Myroliubivka, Zvirove and Pokrovsk.
Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy attacked four times near Kostiantynopil and Burlatske. Novopavlivka came under an airstrike.
Towards Orikhiv, Ukrainian defenders repelled an attack in the vicinity of Piatikhatky.
Towards Huliaipole and Kherson, the enemy did not conduct any active offensive in the sectors.
In the operational area in Kursk oblast, Ukrainian Defence Forces units repelled two attacks by russian invaders. The enemy carried out 12 airstrikes, dropping 19 drones, and fired over 200 times, including seven times from multiple launch rocket systems.
In other frontline areas, the situation did not change significantly.
Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reports that a russian strike on the town of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk oblast killed at least 2 people, injured 4 others with varying degrees of severity, and there may still be people under the rubble. It is known that russia dropped 7 FAB-250 bombs.
The Ministry of Energy informs that overnight, power companies restored power to 36,000 consumers. The water level in Zaporizhzhia NPP pond is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
Towards Kharkiv, russian troops attacked four times in the direction of Vovchansk, one attack is still being repelled as of 16:00.
Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defence forces repelled a russian attack near Zahryzove. The occupiers also attacked towards Fiholivka and Zakhidne.
Towards Lyman, the occupiers attacked three times, in particular, near Ivanivka. Ukrainian defence forces repelled the attacks.
Towards Kharkiv, the day before, the enemy twice tried to break through the defensive lines of UKrainian defenders near Vovchansk.
Towards Kupiansk, five enemy attacks took place yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled the enemy’s assault near Zahryzove.
Shelling
Viktor Kovalenko, head of the village administration, says that a 61-year-old woman sustained light injuries with glass as a result of a GAB airstrike on Zolochiv. The hit occurred at 16:05. At least three private garages were destroyed, two two-storey apartment buildings, a one-storey apartment building, 14 private houses, outbuildings, gas and power grids were damaged. The second guided aerial bomb hit an open area near the village of Svitlychne, with no information on casualties or damage.
A 44-year-old resident of Prystin in Kupiansk region sustained multiple shrapnel wounds to his face and torso as a result of a russian drone strike at 12:40am, the regional prosecutor’s office said. According to the press service, the explosion damaged private households in the village.
Kharkiv police press service said that around 09:15am, a russian drone hit a civilian car in Kupiansk. The wounded were a man and a woman aged 63 and 56, who were hospitalised with multiple injuries. A russian drone attacked the car on the outskirts of the city. The car was destroyed by fire.

Around 04:15, Kharkiv region, Lobanivka village came under attack by the russian federation. As a result of the attack, a private residential building was destroyed by a UAV, followed by a fire. There were no casualties.
At 04:22, Bohodukhiv region, Makarykha village came under attack of the russian federation. An unmanned aerial vehicle hit the ground. There were no casualties or damage.
The day before at 08:00, in Kupyansk, a car was damaged as a result of a strike by a Molniya UAV. Three police officers were injured and hospitalised.
At 08-07 Kupiansk region, near Shevchenkove village, a car burned down as a result of a hit from a Molniya-2 UAV.
At 09:30, Izium region, Borova village came under attack by the russian federation. A private residential building was damaged as a result of a UAV strike.
At 09:30 Izium region, Pidlyman village came under attack by the russian federation. Two private residential buildings and three outbuildings were damaged as a result of a UAV attack.

At 12:30 Kharkiv region, Borshchova village came under attack of the russian federation. An FPV drone strike. There were no casualties or damage.
At 12:30, Kharkiv region, Zaluzhne village came under attack from the russian federation, the wreckage of a Geranium-2 UAV was spotted in the open area.
.At 17:05, Izium region, Kamianka village, came under attack by the russian federation, the fragments of a missile (type is being established) were found on the territory of the household waste landfill.
At 23:01, Lozova region, the village of Blyzniuky, the territory of a civilian enterprise came under attack by the russian federation. The roof of a warehouse building was damaged as a result of a hit from a Geranium-2 UAV. Other
Andrii Kanashevych, Head of Kupiansk RMA, informs that people practically do not leave Kupiansk, Kurylivka and Petropavlivka communities. According to him, about 3,000 people remain in the Kupiansk community, 2,000 of whom live in Kupiansk.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov, says that from now on, the air alert map displays separate alerts for Kharkiv and the community and the rest of the region.
Donetsk oblast

The Armed Forces stopped 29 attacks towards Pokrovsk over the last day near Vodiane Druhe, Yelizavetivka, Svyrydonivka, Promin, Pishchane, Serhiivka, Andriivka, Ulakly, Udachne, Nadiia and Molodetske.
Towards Toretsk, russian troops conducted 13 attacks in the vicinity of Toretsk, Krymske, Shcherbynivka and Diliivka.
Towards Lyman, russian troops have begun to use fibre-optic FPV drones, which are not affected by electronic warfare. Yevhen, commander of the company of strike unmanned aerial vehicles of the 115th Brigade’s unmanned systems battalion, call sign Advocate, says that russians are attacking in small infantry groups,” said .
Yulia Stepanyuk, Head of the 177th Brigade’s communications department, informs that russian troops are advancing Pokrovsk in one to two sections, storming with armoured vehicles, and are also amassing infantry.
Shelling
Russians dropped 7 bombs on Kostiantynivka. At least two people were killed and three were injured. As a result of hitting an apartment building, apartments from the 1st to the 5th floors were destroyed, and there was a lot of damage in the private sector. The deceased were men aged 62 and 72. Three women aged 56, 61, 71 were injured. The oldest victim was evacuated to hospital in serious condition. Among the injured are IDPs from Bakhmut. According to preliminary data, 66 civilian objects were damaged in Kostiantynivka: 10 apartment buildings and 21 private houses, industrial facilities, a shop, car parks, 16 garages, 9 cars, 2 power lines and 2 gas pipelines. According to preliminary information from Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office, russian troops hit Kostiantynivka with FAB-250 bombs from the UMPK.

Vadym Liakh, Head of the RMA, says that russian troops shelled Sloviansk at 15:30. They used a FAB-250. No one was injured or killed in the shelling.
Police recorded 3,207 hostile attacks on the frontline and residential areas. russians killed two people in Donetsk oblast and wounded 12 others.

The city council reports that russian occupiers continue to export coal through Mariupol. The city recorded the arrival of 88 wagons of coal at Mariupol port.

Luhansk oblast
The RMA says that in this area of the frontline, russians are using mostly cannon artillery and a large number of unmanned systems. They opened artillery fire 10 times yesterday alone. 104 enemy UAVs attempted to attack the Ukrainian Defence Forces. The invaders attempted to advance near Novoliubivka, where Ukrainian troops are holding the line.
In April 2024, the so-called ‘luhansk people’s republic’ began the process of transferring 10 coal mining enterprises – both capacity and debts – to russian investors for nothing. Since then, according to the occupiers, the new owners have invested nine billion rubles in these mines. However, the funds were and will be used not to pay off wage arrears that have accumulated over the years, but to create safe working conditions, which means they will disappear. The miners are resolving the issue of debts and seniority on their own, fighting with the russian justice system. One of the so-called investors was given the use of Samsonivska-Zakhidna, Dovzhanska-Kapitalna, Komsomolska, Vakhrushev, Frunze, Molodogvardeyska, Krasnyi Partizan, Barakov, Sukhodolska-Vostochna and Kharkivska mines.
The towns of Luhansk oblast that were seized and dilapidated in 2022 remain without mobile phone service and any internet connection. The only way to use a mobile phone is to travel deep into the region. The internet is a little easier. For example, in Rubizhne, amplifiers and other devices can be purchased through classified ads for a fee, which locals use to illegally connect to the network.

Kyiv oblast
A 60-year-old man, an employee of Ukrzaliznytsia, was killed in a russian UAV attack in Boryspil district at a railway crossing. A warehouse fire was also extinguished in Boryspil district. The enemy attack damaged administrative buildings of enterprises, a school, a kindergarten, the glazing of apartments in a multi-storey residential building, 5 cars, 3 shops, a private house, more than 20 solar panels and a police car.
The fall of UAV debris on the open territory of a private estate in Solomianskyi district of Kyiv caused a tree to catch fire over an area of 3 square metres. The fire was extinguished. The blast wave damaged windows in the house opposite. There were no casualties.
As of 22 February, rescuers are working to partially open the shelter structures and eliminate one smouldering centre on the north side of the arch at the Chornobyl NPP Shelter. Constant monitoring is carried out using UAVs with thermal imaging cameras and manual thermal imagers.
Bucha is completing the restoration of a building on Yablunska Street that was damaged at the start of the full-scale russian invasion in 2022. According to the Kyiv Oblast Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service, most of the restoration work has already been completed.
The largest underground school in the capital is being built in the Dnipro district of Kyiv. More than a thousand students will be able to study and stay in the radiation shelter at the same time. The construction is necessary because the nearest bomb shelter to the lyceum is in a neighbouring school, more than 500 metres away.
An exhibition of photographs titled Resilience in Unity opened at the Zoloti Vorota metro station. The aim of the exhibition is to remind us of the path Ukrainians have travelled over the three years of full-scale war: from the first days of despair and fear to the gradual restoration of some areas of life.
New dashboards have been added to the Official Kyiv Portal: on energy resilience of buildings and the work of Internet providers during power outages.
Zhytomyr oblast
In the framework of international cooperation, a meeting with Estonian colleagues was recently held at the Main Directorate of the National Police of Zhytomyr oblast. They discussed the specifics of the work, current achievements and challenges faced by police officers under martial law. The Estonian colleagues handed over five vehicles to the oblast’s police, improving the mobility and efficiency of law enforcement in the region.
Sumy oblast
Liudmyla Biriukova, Head of Velyka Pysarivka community, reported that a russian drone scattered explosives in Velyka Pysarivka. Residents are asked to refrain from moving along certain streets until sappers have completed their work. According to her, this is at least the second incident this week.
On the morning of 22 February, the enemy struck Krasnopillia community by artillery. As a result of the strike, a private residential house was destroyed.

During night and morning, russians carried out 4 shelling attacks on border areas in Sumy oblast, resulting in 27 explosions by mortars and artillery. The attacks targeted Khotin, Yunakivka, Krasnopillia, and Khutir-Mykhailivskyi communities.
On 22 February, anti-aircraft guns shot down 9 enemy UAVs of “Shahed” type in the sky over Sumy Oblast. Since the beginning of 2025, 476 enemy drones have been destroyed.
On 21 February, russians carried out 98 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 133 hits: artillery and mortar attacks, attacks by FPV-drones, GABs, dropping VOG from UAVs. The attacks targeted 14 communities: Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropilia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Lebedyn, Velyka Pysarivka, Putyvl, Esman, Shalyhyne, Seredyna-Buda, Svesa, Shostka, Znob-Novhorod.
In the evening of 21 February, the enemy carried out a missile strike on Lebedyn community. A house and an outbuilding were damaged. Preliminary reports suggest that no people were injured.
The enemy also carried out an airstrike by two UAVs on the territory of Shostka community. Infrastructure objects were damaged. The extent of the damage is being clarified.
In Sumy, a book about the fallen defender of Ukraine, “Oleksandr Kulyk: A Hero in Life,” was presented. The book consists of 20 stories and memories about the life path of a resident of Sumy, an honored coach of Ukraine, who died in March 2022 in a battle with russian troops near Sumy. For more than 30 years, Oleksandr headed the “Ukraine” youth sports school and raised more than one generation of talented athletes.
Chernihiv oblast
During the day of 21 February, the russian army attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. For the attack, the enemy used FPV-drones (6 explosions), UAV drops (13 explosions), artillery (12 explosions), and mortars (40 explosions). According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, nine villages came under fire.
The first veteran theater in Chernihiv is preparing for the pre-premiere of the play “Hospital Rhapsody.” Its author is Yurii Vietkin, a veteran of the russian-Ukrainian war. The play is based on real events and describes what happened in one of the wards of Chernihiv Military Hospital in March 2022. The premiere of the play will take place on 22 February.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that last night, the occupiers shelled Nikopol with artillery. A 54-year-old man was injured. Businesses, high-rise buildings, cars, gas pipelines and power lines were damaged. It was also noisy in the Kamianske region. An enemy attack caused a fire at an enterprise there.
Today, the enemy attacked two regions of the oblast — Nikopol and Synelnykove. The occupiers probably used an anti-aircraft missile system in Synelnykove region. They targeted Novopavlivka. Three private houses were damaged there. The enemy attacked Nikopol region mainly with kamikaze drones, and dropped ammunition from a drone. The district centre and the Marhanets community were targeted. A multi-storey building, cars and infrastructure were damaged.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, said that the russian army shelled Kirovohrad oblast again. One of the enterprises was hit in Kropyvnytskyi region.
In the city of Svitlovodsk, Kirovohrad oblast, relatives of military personnel came out to hold a rally to remind them of the prisoners and missing persons. The goal was to once again draw the attention of the authorities to the fact that their relatives are in Russian captivity or have gone missing.
Poltava oblast
A charity race to honour the memory of the Hero of Ukraine Yulian Matviychuk and the fallen defenders of Ukraine was held in Poltava.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, reported that on 22 February, russian forces attacked a frontline settlement, destroying a clinic building. There were no casualties reported.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command, at around 11am, russian tactical aviation launched guided aerial bombs towards Zaporizhzhia oblast.
Based on the information provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defence Forces repelled 3 russian attacks near Shcherbaky and Piatykhatky in Orikhiv region. In Huliaipole region, russian forces did not conduct active operations.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, stated that on 21 February, russian forces carried out 517 attacks on 10 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast, including 313 drone strikes targeting Kushuhum, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne and Novodarivka.
Mykolaiv oblast
Referring to the RMA, on the night of 22 February, air defence forces shot down 4 Shahed 131/136 drones over Mykolaiv oblast. There were no shelling recorded in the oblast.
Odesa oblast
The Ukrainian Navy reported that there are no russian warships in the Sea of Azov. In the Black Sea, one russian warship is present, equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total volley capacity of up to 4 missiles.
Kherson oblast
According to the SES of Ukraine, russian forces shelled Bilozirka, causing a fire in an outbuilding and a car on private property. Firefighters extinguished the blaze.
The RMA informed that during the day, russian forces dropped an explosive device from a drone onto a civilian car in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson, injuring a 58-year-old man. He suffered blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to his back and head.
Roman Mrochko, Head of the CMA, said that yesterday evening, a 57-year-old man was injured in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson by a russian drone attack. Today, he sought medical attention for blast trauma and a concussion.
As reported by the RMA, russian artillery, drones, and cluster munitions damaged residential buildings and outbuildings in Vesele village. Also, Kozatske was attacked. There were no casualties reported.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, stated that on 21 February, russian forces shelled 33 settlements in Kherson oblast, damaging a gas pipeline, a high-rise building, 12 private houses, a garage and vehicles. One person was killed, and 4 injured.

Volyn oblast
Lutsk City Council reported that the community has prepared a new batch of aid worth UAH 30m for the soldiers.
Zakarpattia oblast
The RMA held a meeting with Yevhen Kaplin, Head of the Proliska humanitarian mission. With donor funds, the organization plans to renovate and equip 13 more dormitories for IDPs this year, increasing the number of places for IDPs in the oblast by another 1,000.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Ivano-Frankivsk sent 20 FPV drones and MAVIC 3 PRO to the 79th Separate Tavria Airborne Assault Brigade thanks to the budget funds.
Lviv oblast
The Kozytskyi CF has donated 100 Besomar unmanned aerial vehicle complexes, along with ground control stations, launch and control equipment, to the Ukrainian military. This assistance will go to the soldiers of the 1020th Separate Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment and the 39th Separate Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The RMA reported that volunteers from the UK have arrived in Lviv oblast to deliver 35 SUVs to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Rivne oblast
The RMA reported that the construction of hospital shelters in Rivne oblast was discussed at an online meeting with the participation of Viktor Liashko, Minister of Health of Ukraine.
Ternopil oblast
208 Ternopil servicemen will receive financial assistance for the purchase of necessary equipment and technical means in the amount of UAH 10,000. The total amount of assistance is UAH 2,8m.
Ternopil City Council reported that families of the deceased have received compensation for housing and communal services and exemption from paying for children’s meals in educational institutions.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
In Khmelnytskyi community, one-time material assistance was allocated for 757 community residents. The total amount of assistance is almost UAH 8m. Assistance was provided to military personnel, veterans, families of prisoners of war and missing defenders, and households that suffered damage as a result of terrorist attacks by the russian federation.
Chernivtsi oblast
A working group to support military personnel, veterans, and their family members has begun work in Chernivtsi oblast. The working group will work on resolving problematic issues and help establish cooperation in the effective implementation of veteran policy in the oblast.
Another batch of aid was received by IDPs living in Bukovina. The Orange Women CF and the World Central Kitchen international organization handed over 211 food kits to residents of 12 temporary shelters in the oblast, which were evacuated from frontline areas of Donetsk oblast.
