War in Ukraine today: latest news, 11 June 2026 (photo)

It has been the 1569  th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

On 11 June, the aggressor attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 48 times.

Artillery shelling of border areas continues. In Sumy oblast, the settlements of Ryzhivka, Korenok, Ulanove, Neskuchne, Sopych, Rohizne, Budky, Rozhkovychi, and Vyntorivka came under fire; in Chernihiv oblast – Senkivka, Zaliznyi Mist, and Klyusy.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, the enemy carried out 27 attacks on settlements and positions of our troops.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the invaders made three attempts to break through the defense in the vicinity of Starytsia, Odradne, and Kolodiazne.

Towards Kupiansk, Kramatorsk, and Oleksandrivka, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian warriors repelled ten attempts by the invaders to advance in the vicinity of  Drobysheve, Ozerne, and Lyman. Three engagements are currently ongoing.

Towards Slovyansk, the Defense Forces successfully halted two attempts by the invaders to push forward near the settlement of Rai-Oleksandrivka and in the vicinity of Zakitne.

Towards Kostiantynivka axis, our defenders repelled four attacks near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Illinivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers have attempted 21 times to dislodge our warriors from their positions in the vicinity of Zatyshok, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Shevchenko, and Dorozhne. Four engagements are ongoing.

Towards Huliaipole, the Defense Forces successfully repelled six enemy attacks in the vicinity of Rybne, Vozdvyzhivka, Huliaipilske, and Charivne. Three engagements are ongoing.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy launched one assault on the positions of our defenders in the vicinity of Stepnohirsk.

Towards Kherson, our defenders successfully stopped one offensive action near the Antonivka Bridge.

In other directions, there were no significant changes in the situation.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

 

In Kharkiv oblast, there were 251 combat engagements e. Towards Southern Sloboda, russian troops launched four attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units in the vicinity of Starytsia, Okhrimivka and Kindrashivka. Towards Kupiansk, the Defense Forces stopped two enemy attempts to advance near Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.

Around 05:00, between the villages of Prosianka and Husynka of Kindrashivka community, a 55-year-old man was killed as a result of a russian FPV drone strike.

During the night of June 11, russian drones attacked Shevchenkove, Kupiansk region. The strike hit the premises of a hospital, causing a blast wave that damaged an emergency medical vehicle.

Chuhuiv was under a massive UAV attack during the night. One of the strikes was recorded on the premises of a non-operational enterprise, and another hit a residential sector in the city center. A greenhouse was damaged.

Over the past day, enemy strikes targeted Kharkiv and 21 other settlements in the oblast.

In Kharkiv, 11 people were injured as a result of russian attacks: men aged 50 and 58, and women aged 23, 27, 33, 38, 45, 57, 70, 75, and 77.

In the village of Kozacha Lopan, Derhachi community, a 55-year-old man was injured due to the explosion of an unknown device.

russian troops attacked Nemyshlianskyi, Kyivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Industrialnyi districts of Kharkiv with drones. To strike Kharkiv oblast, the occupiers deployed eight Geran-2 UAVs, six Molniya UAVs, ten FPV drones, and another 30 drones of an unidentified type.

  • In Kharkiv: 12 apartment buildings, a private house, nine vehicles, and a garage were damaged.
  • In Bohodukhiv region: Residential buildings, outbuildings, an educational institution, a civilian enterprise, and vehicles were damaged.
  • In Kupiansk region: Residential buildings, a warehouse, a civilian enterprise, and an emergency medical vehicle sustained damage.
  • In Kharkiv region: Garages, private houses, a store, and a civilian enterprise were damaged.
  • In Chuhuiv region: A civilian enterprise was damaged.

Meanwhile, the transit evacuation hub in Lozova received 240 people over the day. Since the start of its operations, 39,263 evacuees have been registered.

Donetsk oblast

Towards Pokrovsk, russian troops launched 55 assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces. The occupiers attempted to advance in the vicinity of Rodynske, Nykanorivка, Ivanivka, Hryshyne, Vasylivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, and toward Vilne, Hannivka, Bilytske, Oleksandrivka, Shevchenko, Novoolesandrivka, Novohryshyne, Serhiivka, Novopidhorodnie, and Novopavlivka.

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian servicemen repelled 16 enemy attacks.

Towards Slovyansk and Kostiantynivka, the russian army carried out 14 assaults in each area.

Meanwhile, servicemen of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Mariupol Brigade used a ground robotic complex to deliver humanitarian aid to residents of a frontline village in Donetsk oblast. Civilians received food, medicine, and fuel.

According to Petro Andriushchenko, Head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, the russian army has altered its logistics routes near Mariupol following strikes by the Defense Forces. Military trucks are now moving along bypass roads under the cover of mobile fire groups.

On June 10, police recorded 1,205 russian strikes along the frontline and residential sectors of Donetsk oblast. The attacks targeted Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Slovyansk, Bilenke, Novodonetske, Oleksandrivka, Kindrativka, Kurytsyne, Mayaky, Orikhuvatka, Rubtsi, and Khrestyshche. According to preliminary data, no casualties or injuries among civilians have been reported from these strikes.

A total of 24 civilian objects were damaged, including nine residential buildings:

In Kramatorsk, an attack by five drones damaged three private houses and two civilian vehicles.

In Druzhkivka, russian forces struck the town with four KAB-250 guided aerial bombs and an FPV drone, damaging a private house, a hotel complex, and two educational institutions.

An apartment building was damaged in Mykolaivka, and one private house was damaged in each of Mayaky and Rubtsi.

In Khrestyshche, An FPV drone struck an emergency medical vehicle.

Drone attacks damaged an apartment building and a garage cooperative in Novodonetske, and two apartment buildings in Oleksandrivka.

in Kurytsyne, destruction was recorded on the premises of a local enterprise.

Additionally, on June 8 in Kostiantynivka, russian servicemen attacked two people who were evacuating to Druzhkivka on foot. One of the civilians sustained injuries.

 Luhansk oblast

Towards Lyman, russian troops launched 16 attacks over the past day, attempting to advance in the vicinity of five settlements.

The occupiers shelled the territory of the oblast three times using tube artillery, deployed mortars twice, fired from automatic grenade launchers, and directed ten drones toward the Ukrainian defenders.

In temporarily occupied Luhansk oblast, the invaders have scaled back their plans for heating network repairs ahead of the next heating season. According to the latest data, they plan to replace only 30 kilometers of heating mains this year, eight of which are in Luhansk. Previously, the occupation authorities had claimed significantly larger volumes of work.

The situation remains critical in Alchevsk, where over 100 kilometers of heating networks are in an unsatisfactory state. The situation is equally severe in the cities occupied in 2022, where a significant portion of communications was destroyed during the hostilities.

In Lysychansk, the public warning system has been non-functional since the summer of 2022. The equipment was damaged during the capture of the city by russian troops and has not been restored since. In the event of an air raid siren, residents receive no danger signals. The occupation administration stated that the restoration of the warning system is only planned for 2029–2030.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

During the meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), representatives of 47 countries and the European Union condemned the Russian Federation’s drone attack on Ukraine’s Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility near the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. This was reported by Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha.

During the first five months of 2026, solar power plants helped the Bucha community save UAH 1.3 million in budget funds, according to Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk. The community is gradually strengthening critical infrastructure facilities with solar generation, batteries, and energy storage systems. This is intended to ensure their stable operation in the event of possible power supply disruptions.

The Bucha Center for Citizens’ Training for National Resistance is inviting residents to join its training program, the city council reported. The course is free of charge. Training will begin on June 20 and continue until September 20. As part of the program, experienced instructors will provide training in 15 different areas.

Zhytomyr oblast

During the first five months of 2026, the Zhytomyr region allocated more than UAH 425 million to support the security and defense sector, according to Head of the Regional Military Administration Vitalii Bunechko. Nearly one-quarter of this amount was provided from the regional budget, while the remaining funds came from local communities.

A blood donation campaign was held in the Korosten community, bringing together around 300 participants. Employees of the Korosten District Military Administration, representatives of government institutions, businesses, organizations, and concerned residents of the community joined the initiative, the Regional Military Administration reported.

Sumy oblast

Oleh Hryhorov, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported that on the morning of 11 June, a russian drone deliberately struck a residential house in Znob-Novhorodske community. The impact caused a fire. A 67-year-old woman was killed. She would have turned 68 next week. The victim’s two young grandchildren were also in the house and were taken to hospital for examination.

Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, Chairman of the Board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, said that a railway worker was killed as a result of a hostile strike on a locomotive depot in Sumy oblast on 11 June. Four other railway employees were injured and hospitalised with burns, and doctors are providing medical assistance. The enemy attacked Konotop by jet-powered Shahed drones. Due to the proximity to the border and the speed of the drones, not everyone had time to reach shelters. Regional and suburban train services in Sumy oblast continue to operate.

The State Emergency Service in Sumy oblast informed that russian forces struck Konotop on the morning of 11 June. The attack caused a fire and partial destruction of a building. Rescuers recovered the body of the deceased woman from the rubble and, despite the threat of repeated attacks, extinguished the fire caused by the hostile strike on the locomotive depot.

Serhii Kryvosheienko, Head of Sumy City Military Administration, said that on 11 June, an FPV drone struck a municipal enterprise located in Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy. Eight windows of the building were shattered, and leased lorries sustained minor damage. Later in the day, russian forces struck Stetskivka village elder district twice. A Molniya drone hit a residential yard, damaging an educational institution building and causing a fire. In Velyka Chernechchyna village elder district, a man was injured after a Molniya UAV struck a private household. He was hospitalised.

According to the State Emergency Service in Sumy oblast on the afternoon of 11 June, firefighters had extinguished all fires caused by russian strikes. In Popivka community, a vehicle caught fire as a result of a russian attack. In Znob-Novhorodske community, two residential houses and three outbuildings caught fire. In Shostka community, rescuers extinguished a fire at a summer house, while in Svesa community they brought under control a fire in a two-storey building.

The Regional Military Administration reported that two teenagers were injured in Konotop community as a result of careless handling of explosive objects. The children found unidentified objects and threw them into a bonfire, causing an explosion. An 11-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were injured. The Administration reminded residents that Sumy region remains one of the areas most contaminated with explosive hazards. In addition, the enemy continues to drop explosives from drones, while debris and components of russian UAVs may also pose a danger.

The State Emergency Service in Sumy oblast informed that the enemy struck the regional centre on the evening of 10 June. A sauna building on the grounds of a private household was damaged and a fire broke out. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and inspected the area.

From the morning of 10 June to the morning of 11 June, russian forces carried out nearly 70 attacks on 33 settlements across 17 territorial communities in Sumy oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 22 hours and 27 minutes over the reporting period.

According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, as of the morning of 11 June, one person had been killed and 15 injured as a result of enemy strikes across Sumy oblast. Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged or destroyed:

▪️ In Vorozhba community, a 57-year-old man was injured by explosives dropped from a drone, and a private residential house was damaged;

▪️ In Bilopollia community, women aged 39, 66 and 70 were injured in a UAV strike; a shop building and a private residential house were damaged;

▪️ In Seredyna-Buda community, a 60-year-old man was injured when an enemy drone struck a vehicle; a private residential house was destroyed, while vehicles and non-residential premises were damaged;

▪️ In Sumy community, a 65-year-old man was injured in enemy shelling; women aged 37, 38 and 69, as well as a 62-year-old man, were injured in drone attacks; railway infrastructure, civilian infrastructure, non-residential buildings, apartment blocks and passenger cars were damaged;

▪️ In Znob-Novhorodske community, a 67-year-old woman was killed in a hostile UAV strike, while two children — a three-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl — were injured; a private residential house and a passenger car were destroyed, while other private houses and a non-residential building were damaged;

▪️ In Shalyhyne community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;

▪️ In Svesa community, passenger cars were damaged;

▪️ In Hlukhiv community, a private residential house, a non-residential building and lorries were damaged;

▪️ In Shostka community, a 32-year-old man was injured in a russian UAV strike; a non-residential building and private residential houses were damaged;

▪️ In Krasnopillia community, private residential houses were damaged;

▪️ In Konotop community, a 42-year-old woman was injured after a hostile drone strike; civilian infrastructure facilities and a private household were damaged;

▪️ In Sad community, a 63-year-old woman was injured in a UAV attack;

▪️ In Esman community, private residential houses were destroyed.

Over the course of the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, National Police and public organisations, evacuated 15 people from border communities.

Chernihiv oblast

JSC Chernihivoblenergo reported that on 11 June, as a result of a russian attack on an energy facility in Chernihiv region, more than 37,000 consumers in Chernihiv, Chernihiv region and Koriukivka region were left without electricity. Energy workers are working to restore power supply.

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, saig that russian forces attacked the centre of Pohoriltsi village in Semenivka community by a drone during the night of 11 June. As a result, the village elder’s office building caught fire.

The Police of Chernihiv oblast informed that a local resident was injured as a result of a hostile attack on a private enterprise in Snovsk at around 6pm on 10 June. The attack also caused a fire at warehouse facilities and damaged a grocery store building.

According to the Police of Chernihiv oblast, russian forces attacked Semenivka and two villages in Horodnia community on 10 June. In Semenivka, a drone struck a civilian vehicle during the night. In Horodnia community, a grain-cleaning complex was damaged and a house was destroyed by fire.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast over the course of 10 June: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk communities. The enemy carried out mortar attacks (18 explosions), tube artillery strikes (11 explosions) and multiple launch rocket system attacks (15 explosions), launched FPV drone strikes (27 explosions) and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (6 explosions). A total of 12 settlements came under enemy fire.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk RMA, reported that the russians struck Vasylkivka community by 7 KABs. 1 person was killed and 3 injured. Fires broke out. An auto parts store was destroyed, 2 houses were destroyed and 10 private houses, 3 outbuildings, a summer kitchen and 3 vehicles were damaged. Ukrainka community was attacked by UAVs. A fire broke out and a farming enterprise was damaged. The occupiers launched FPV drone attacks on Nikopol, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka, Myrove and Pokrovske rural and urban communities. A fire broke out. An enterprise and a private house were damaged.

1 person was injured as a result of an FPV drone attack in Zelenodolsk community. 

An electric bicycle was damaged. Following yesterday’s UAV attack on Pavlohrad, 12 people were reported injured, including a child. An high-rise building caught fire and a fire station was damaged.

The enemy struck Vasylkivka community again, this time by 4 KABs. 7 people were injured. Fires broke out. 20 private houses, 11 outbuildings, 11 vehicles, an agricultural enterprise and 10 garages were damaged. 5 people were injured, including a 15-year-old girl. The occupiers attacked the regional centre, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka, Myrove and Pokrovske rural communities by drones. Fires broke out. 2 private houses, an administrative building, a gas station, a bank and a vehicle were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast 

The community transferred UAH 9,800 to serviceman Vladyslav Hutsol from Dzyhivka, Vinnytsia oblast, and his fellow soldiers for the purchase of a drone detector and equipment for Starlink. The funds were raised during a charity concert held in the village.

Kirovohrad oblast

Among the Ukrainian defenders released during the latest prisoner exchange were 7 residents of Bobrynets, Oleksandriia, Smoline, Subottsi and Pryiutivka communities, as well as Nove settlement.

Poltava oblast

According to Poltava Regional Military Administration, during the night, the enemy attacked Poltava oblast. As a result of the strike, an agricultural-industrial complex facility was destroyed.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, reported that a 57-year-old man was injured as a result of an attack on Lystivka village. The strike was carried out with a guided aerial bomb. A private house was destroyed.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 10 June, Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 35 russian attacks on Huliaipole and Orikhiv regions. Combat engagements were recorded near Stepnohirsk, Shcherbaky, Rybne, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Charivne and in the directions of Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Hirke, Novoselivka, Huliaipilske, Nova Tokmachka and Charivne. 

Ivan Fedorov,  Head of the RMA, stated that 8 people were injured in the regional centre and Zaporizhzhia oblast. The russian forces launched more than 800 strikes on 44 settlements across Zaporizhzhia oblast over the past day.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv RMA, informed that russian forces attacked the transport infrastructure of Mykolaiv by Shahed drones.

According to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, on 10 June, the russian military attacked Mykolaiv oblast by Shahed drones and a Molniia UAV. A warehouse and a vehicle were damaged. As a result of the attacks and falling debris, a fire broke out at an agricultural enterprise warehouse. There were no casualties reported.

Odesa oblast

Based on the information provided by the Ukrainian Air Force, in the evening, a jet-powered UAV was detected over the Black Sea heading toward the southern part of Odesa oblast.

In the morning, jet-powered UAVs were detected moving from the Black Sea toward Odesa oblast, heading in the direction of Chornomorsk.

During the night, UAVs were recorded flying from the Black Sea toward Odesa oblast (Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi region).

According to Air Command South, during the day on 10 June, russia attacked Odesa oblast by 2 Kh-31 anti-radiation missiles.

Kherson oblast

According to the Regional Military Administration, a 69-year-old resident of Bilozirka was injured after coming under russian shelling at around 7:30pm. She sustained a blast injury.

At approximately 6:20pm, russian forces shelled Korabelnyi district of Kherson by artillery. A 71-year-old woman was injured and suffered a blast injury, concussion and shrapnel wound to her arm.

At around 4:40pm, russian forces attacked a woman by a UAV in Velyka Oleksandrivka community. The 44-year-old resident sustained blast and closed traumatic brain injuries, as well as a concussion.

A 43-year-old municipal worker who came under a drone attack in Korabelnyi district of Kherson yesterday was reported injured. He suffered a blast injury and coordination and balance disorders. He will receive outpatient treatment.

2 residents were injured in russian shelling of Korabelnyi district last night. A 78-year-old man sustained blast and closed traumatic brain injuries, as well as a concussion, and is currently receiving medical care. A 75-year-old woman was injured and diagnosed with blast and closed traumatic brain injuries, as well as acoustic trauma.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk community was notified of the loss of Andrii Kravchuk, serviceman who was previously considered missing. The defender died on 6 June 6 near the settlement of Andrivka, Sumy oblast.

Zakarpattia oblast

There are 20 certified children’s camps in the oblast, where both local students and children from among IDPs and from all over Ukraine can relax. Free passes are available for children of military personnel and veterans, orphans, children deprived of parental care, children with disabilities and other privileged categories aged 7 and over.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Another group of Hero children from Ivano-Frankivsk community went on vacation to Trakai – one of the most picturesque cities in Lithuania. The trip takes place as part of the international children’s health and recreation program, which has been implemented in the community since the beginning of the full-scale war with the support of international partners.

Lviv oblast

A modern operating room has been put into operation at Lviv Regional Hospital for War Veterans and Victims of Repression named after Yurii Lypa after major renovations. 13 operating rooms, preoperative and postoperative wards, and rooms for medical personnel have been renovated. A modern ventilation system has been created, a medical gas system has been installed and the latest medical equipment has been installed.

Rivne oblast

39 children from Rivne oblast went to Poland for rehabilitation. This trip is taking place within the framework of a partnership between the oblast and the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. These are the children of veterans who became disabled during the war.

Ternopil oblast

20 military personnel from Ternopil community will receive UAH 15,000 for treatment and rehabilitation. In 2025, such assistance was provided to 622 military personnel from Ternopil, and during 2026 – to 324 military personnel.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

94 family members of fallen heroes of Khmelnytskyi community received financial support. The total amount of assistance is UAH 2.2m.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that the 107th Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces and the mobile fire groups of the oblast received 5 SUVs.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Almost 30 vehicles, including 20 resuscitation vehicles, are already on their way to the Ukrainian border guards from the Santa Clara Monastery Foundation. In the near future, they will strengthen the work of the medical units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, which evacuate the wounded, provide emergency assistance and save the lives of defenders on the front line. Before departure, the humanitarian convoy was blessed by Pope Leo XIV.
