What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

russian invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders. The Ukrainian defense forces inflicted significant losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment.

On 3 January, there were 92 combat clashes hon the frontline.

Border settlements, in particular Popivka, Bachivsk in Sumy oblast; Karpovychi in Chernihiv oblast; Timofiivka in Kharkiv oblast, are suffering from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian federation. The invaders carried out airstrikes with GABs near Popivka and Oleksandrivka of Sumy oblast; Hremiachka in Chernihiv oblast.

Towards Kharkiv, Ukrainian soldiers today repelled one attack in the vicinity of Vovchansk.

Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked five times near Nadiia, Makiivka, Hryhorivka and towards Cherneshchyna. Four enemy attacks were repelled, one combat clash is ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, Ukrainian defenders repel seven occupiers’ attempts  to advance in the vicinity of ​​Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, Predtechyne and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk, the enemy attacked four times near the settlements of Diliivka, Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. Three battles ended unsuccessfully for the occupiers, and one more is ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers made 26 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of Vodiane Druhe, Baranivka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Novyi Trud, Pishchane, Zvirove, Solone, Kotlyne and Pokrovsk. The defense forces are holding back the enemy’s onslaught and repelled 16 attacks, 10 clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Kurakhove, the enemy attacked nine times near Petropavlivka, Kurakhivka and Shevchenko. Five battles were completed, four more are still ongoing.

Towards Vremivka, the occupiers unsuccessfully attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops near Yantarne and towards Konstantinopol and Novosilka five times. The enemy carried out airstrikes near Zelene Pole and Novopol, dropping seven anti-aircraft missiles and using unguided air missiles.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy continued to shell the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure, and tried to advance towards Novoandriivka. The enemy launched air strikes with unguided missiles on Lobkove, Shcherbaky and Piatikhatki.

Towards Kherson, russian invaders once unsuccessfully stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders. The situation is under control.

In Kursk oblast, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 invaders’ attacks, another 16 clashes are ongoing. russian troops also launched three airstrikes on the territory of the russian federation, dropping three anti-aircraft missiles.

In other directions of the front, the situation did not change significantly.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

In Kurakhove, Chasiv Yar, and Toretsk, battles continue, as reported by the “Khortytsia” Operational Strategic Grouping (OSG).

Of the 138 clashes recorded over the past day, 116 took place in the east. The Russian army attacked and assaulted most frequently — 38 times — in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff’s report on the morning of January 3. Here, the occupiers were most active near Myrolyubivka, Lysivka, Novyi Trud, Pishchane, Shevchenko, Uspenivka, Solone, and Novovasylivka.

The Defense Forces repelled 27 attacks in the Kurakhove direction. The occupiers attempted to advance near Slovyanka, Petropavlivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, and Kurakhove.

Russian forces have not reduced their pressure in the Lyman and Vremivka directions either.

Kharkiv oblast 

Today, the Defense Forces repelled one enemy attack near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv direction, while Tymofiivka came under Russian shelling, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported as of 4:00 PM.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian army launched five attacks, particularly toward Cherneshchyna. Four attacks were repelled, while one combat engagement is ongoing.

A 56-year-old man sustained injuries as a result of a Russian drone attack, the regional prosecutor’s office reported. The UAV struck Zapadne in the Kupiansk area around 10:45 AM. The man was hospitalized.

Around 8:55 AM, Russian forces shelled the village of Kozacha Lopan in the Derhachi territorial community, according to police reports. A 56-year-old man was injured by explosive fragments and transported to a medical facility in Kharkiv.

At 7:22 AM, the enemy attacked the Bohodukhiv district, targeting the city of Bohodukhiv.
An artillery shell struck a hangar at a civilian enterprise, causing a fire. No casualties have been reported so far.

Over the past day, the occupiers deployed against unarmed residents of Kharkiv region:

  • 8 guided air bombs
  • 3 Shahed UAVs
  • 1 Molniya UAV

Details of recent attacks:

  • At 9:16 PM, the enemy attacked Bohodukhiv district, Zolochiv Territorial Community, hitting an open area in Zolochiv village. Five private homes, an outbuilding, and power lines were damaged.
  • At 4:10 PM, two guided air bombs hit open terrain outside Okip village in Bohodukhiv district. No damages were reported.
  • At 1:35 PM, Chervonyi Steppe village in Berestiv district came under rocket fire. No damages or casualties were reported.
  • At 12:43 PM, in Borova village, Borivska TC, Izyum district, Russian forces used Uragan MLRS, damaging a music school, the village council’s administrative building, utility structures, a high school, an ambulance building, and vehicles.
  • At 12:25 PM, two impacts were recorded in an open field near Borshchova village, Lipetsk TC, Kharkiv district.
  • At 2:00 AM, Rozsokhuvate village, Izyum district, was struck by a Shahed UAV, damaging a private home.

Military Engagements:

  • On the Kharkiv front, the enemy twice attempted to assault Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk but was repelled.
  • On the Kupiansk front, the Defense Forces thwarted enemy assault operations near Zapadne, Dvorichna, and Kruhliakivka. Four attacks were recorded in the area over the past day.

Evacuation Efforts:
Increased evacuation measures from the Kupiansk and Borova directions resulted in the relocation of 7 people, including 2 children.

Statistics for 2024:

  • The enemy has conducted 4,000 strikes on Kharkiv region this year.
  • Of these, 1,500 were guided air bombs and 500 were missile strikes.
    The challenging conditions have spurred ongoing migration within the region. Currently, there are approximately 530,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the region, with 200,000 residing in Kharkiv.

Shelters for Evacuees:
The region has established 76 temporary shelters in dormitories, resorts, and tourist facilities, hosting around 8,000 evacuees, including 1,024 children and 550 people with limited mobility.

Infrastructure Developments in Lozova:
The Lozova community plans to construct five new boiler plants over the next 2.5 years. These will replace the old boiler plant on Svobody Street, which has been operational since 1966 and was damaged by shelling. The project will be financed through a loan from the European Investment Bank, with a 22-year repayment term. The initiative aims to save on energy resources.

Donetsk oblast

Russians Struck Sloviansk’s Residential Area with a Guided Bomb

According to Donetsk region police, Russian forces targeted Sloviansk’s private sector, presumably using a guided bomb equipped with a UMPK module. Four civilians were injured: a 50-year-old man, two women aged 43 and 64, and a two-year-old boy.

The victims sustained mine-blast injuries, traumatic amputations, fractures, and contusions. They are receiving the necessary medical care.

The attack destroyed or damaged at least 14 private homes.

Over the Past Day, Police Recorded 2,300 Russian Strikes on the Frontline and Residential Areas

Russian forces targeted several locations, including the cities of Kostyantynivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Mykolaivka, Chasiv Yar, the settlement of Drobysheve, and the villages of Pershe Travnya, Sribne, and Stinky.

A total of 37 civilian structures were damaged, 29 of which were residential buildings.

One civilian, a resident of Chasiv Yar, was killed during the attacks, reported Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional military administration.

In Kramatorsk, an overnight Russian strike caused a fire in an apartment building, but no casualties were reported, according to the city’s military administration.

Consequences of Russian Shelling on January 2 in the Pokrovska Community

  • Two educational institutions were damaged by Russian shelling in the villages of Sribne and Leontovychi (formerly Pershe Travnya), according to the Military Administration.
  • In Mykolaivka, Russian forces dropped two FAB-250 bombs, damaging six apartment buildings, seven private houses, a hospital, a housing maintenance office, and power lines.
  • Artillery strikes on Lyman resulted in damage to seven private houses, an outbuilding, a garage, and a motorcycle.
  • In Kramatorsk, drone strikes targeted three apartment buildings.
  • In Kostyantynivka, Russian shells damaged four apartment buildings.
  • One apartment building was damaged in Drobyshieve, and a private house in Stinky.
  • Infrastructure facilities in Sribne and Pershe Travnya were also damaged.

Regional Impact and Casualties Since the Full-Scale Invasion

  • Casualties: 2,919 killed and 6,542 injured (excluding Mariupol and Volnovakha).

Russian Military Tactics

  • In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces disguise themselves as civilians to bypass Ukrainian positions. They either wait for reinforcements or carry anti-tank mines to target buildings defended by Ukrainian forces, according to Mykhailo, a mortar battery commander with the call sign “Brain.”
  • Russian troops make daily attempts to cross a canal in Chasiv Yar to advance into the city, shared Bogdan, a commander of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

Humanitarian Efforts

  • Nearly 300 lonely and immobile residents remain under the care of the Druzhkivka Territorial Center for Social Services, located 18 km from the frontline.
  • Assistance includes household support, delivery of food, humanitarian aid, and personal care items, with evacuation offered upon request. The center serves approximately 1,000 people.

Luhansk oblast

The Russians tried to storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Belohorivka, towards Siversk, as well as in the vicinity of Nadiia, Makiivka and in Serebrianka Forest – towards Lyman. According to the RMA, in total, the enemy opened artillery fire nine times. 89 drones were launched.

In Siverskodonetsk, the invaders will demolish at least 90 high-rise buildings. This was reported by a representative of the local occupation authorities. The dismantling of some real estate has already been completed. These buildings were damaged or destroyed during the assault on the settlement by russians in the spring and summer of 2022. Two weeks ago, the so-called “lpr” announced plans to demolish only 30 apartment buildings in Siverskodonetsk. During this period of time, the number has increased threefold.

From January 1, residents of the so-called “lpr” who have passed the standards of the tests of the sports and cultural complex Ready for Labor and Defense (known as “GTO”) will be given a tax discount. They will be refunded rub 2,340 of the personal income tax paid. Another mandatory condition is to undergo a medical examination. In total, it is necessary to pass up to 13 standards depending on age. These include, in particular, overcoming a distance of up to 5 km on skis or cross-country skiing, shooting with an air rifle, hiking, kettlebell snatch, etc.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Regional Military Administration reported that a person was killed and four others were injured in a drone attack in Kyiv oblast. In Bila Tserkva, 4 private houses and an outbuilding were damaged; three people were injured. In Brovary region, a truck was damaged, the driver, born in 1999, died on the spot. In Fastiv region, a woman born in 2002 was wounded and is being treated in hospital.

Kyiv oblast police stated that 17 private houses, an outbuilding, a garage, two vehicles, a power line, a transformer and two car washes were damaged as a result of shelling. A teenager was among the injured.

KCMA reported that a woman was injured in the capital as a result of an attack by russian drones. The air raid began in Kyiv at 4am and lasted more than three hours. Debris fell in Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi districts.

In Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out in a private house as a result of the attack by russian drones. Windows were damaged, a wall and part of the ceiling were destroyed. One woman was injured, she suffered burns to her hand and refused hospitalisation. In Holosiivskyi district, debris fell near a private house.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs informed that work is still underway in the Pechersk district of the capital to eliminate the consequences of the russian attack on 1 January.There are 50 rescuers, heavy rescue equipment, utilities and volunteers working at the site. So far, they have removed and dismantled 5 concrete monolithic slabs and removed 150 cubic metres of construction waste.

On the first morning of the new year 2025, the enemy hit the building of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine (NUWU), one of the symbolic landmarks of Lypky and the government quarter, which was built in the late 19th century. The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine will appeal to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to create a mechanism to preserve and protect the architectural integrity of the streets of the historic centre of Kyiv.

The RMA announced that in 2024 Kyiv oblast expanded the housing stock for IDPs and assisted in adaptation and employment. Currently, almost 258,000 internally displaced persons are registered. 32 temporary accommodation facilities have been set up to accommodate them. These include 17 modular towns. Over the year, more than 5,000 IDPs used the services of the Kyiv Regional Employment Centre, with more than 2,000 of them being employed.

Children of Kyiv oblast affected by the war will have a vacation in Spain. This is stipulated by the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the regional military administration and the ASOCIACIÓN VICHE association, which operates in Asturias, Spain. It refers to joint projects related to the organisation of recreation, social adaptation and psychological rehabilitation of children from Kyiv oblast.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of  Ukraine informed that the Air Defence Forces were on alert in Zhytomyr oblast. Some drones were shot downs.

The President awarded the title of ‘Hero of Ukraine’ to the deceased Zhytomyr resident, who was the most effective anti-aircraft gunner in the Armed Forces. Andrii Liniychuk, known by his call sign ‘Celt’, was the first to use the man-portable air defence system ‘Martlet’ of the ‘Starstreak’ modification in combat. He served as a sergeant with the 95th Brigade: 16 downed Orlan UAVs, 1 Zala, and a Ka-52 combat helicopter.

The RMA reported that Zhytomyr oblast is actively implementing alternative energy projects. Currently, there are already some in operation in the oblast: 19 industrial solar power plants, 21 hydroelectric power plants, biogas power plants, and 1,381 private solar power plants. 

Sumy oblast

Sumy RMA reported that since the beginning of the year, air defense units in Sumy oblast have destroyed 17 russian drones. 

In the morning, an enemy UAV attacked the regional centre, damaging a two-storey residential building. Rescuers quickly extinguished a fire in the residential sector caused by the russian strike. A dog was rescued from the burning building and returned to its owners.

During night and morning, russians carried out 18 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 23 explosions, using GABs, mortals, and FPV-drones. The attacks targeted Sumy, Khotin, Myropilia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, and Seredyna-Buda communities.

On 2 January, the russian army carried out 52 shelling on Sumy oblast, resulting in 83 explosions. As reported by the Regional Military Administration, 10 border communities came under fire.

Krasnopillia community: grenade drops from UAVs (3 explosions), mortar shelling (14 explosions), artillery shelling (8 explosions), FPV-drone attacks (7 explosions). As a result of the shelling, three civilian cars were damaged.

Velyka Pysarivka community: grenade drops from UAVs (8 explosions), FPV-drone attacks (6 explosions), mortar shelling (10 explosions).

Esman community: russians dropped 6 mines on the territory of the community, carried out FPV-drone attacks (2 explosions), and struck by guided aerial bombs (2 explosions).

Bilopillia community: the enemy shelled by mortars (4 explosions).

Myropillia community: russians struck by MLRS (4 explosions).

Svesa and Seredyna-Buda communities: guided aerial bomb strikes (2 explosions each).

FPV-drone attacks were recorded in the territories of Yunakivka (2 explosions), Nova Slobidka (1 explosion), Seredyna-Buda (1 explosion), and Putyvl (1 explosion) communities.

In Sumy oblast, the police special unit “White Angel” evacuated the last resident from a frontline village in Khotin community. The house of 63-year-old Vasyl was completely destroyed due to constant russian shelling, forcing the man to live for almost a month in a neighboring, partially damaged home.

Chernihiv oblast

On 2 January, russian army attacked two communities in Chernihiv oblast. According to the State Border Guard Service, Semenivka and Snovsk communities came under enemy fire.

Semenivka community: An FPV-drone strike on Yanzhulivka village; seven mortar strikes, one FPV-drone strike, and the dropping of an explosive device from a UAV targeted Karpovychi village.

Snovsk community: Two strikes by barrel artillery, one explosive device dropped from a UAV, and three strikes on Huta-Studenetska village.

The Department of Civil Protection and Defence Work of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that between 8am on 2 January and 8am on 3 January, three explosions caused by the impact of Geran-2 strike UAVs were recorded in Koriukivka region. The explosions damaged two hangars and two cargo trucks.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, said that late in the evening and at night, the occupiers attacked Nikopol region several times. They targeted the region centre and Pokrovsk community. They used artillery, fired from Grad rocket launchers and launched a kamikaze drone.

The enemy fired fifteen times at Nikopol region, mostly using kamikaze drones and firing twice from artillery. They targeted the regional centre, Myrove, Marhanets and Pokrovske communities. A 48-year-old man was injured in Nikopol as a result of an enemy drone strike. A multi-storey building, enterprises, a private house, several trucks, tractors, an excavator and power lines were damaged. In Sinelnykivka district, a 70-year-old man was injured in an enemy attack. Four private houses, a car and a power line were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ In Vinnytsia, the funeral of Oleksii “Despot” Stasenko, a musician of the BÜRO band and a veteran who fought with the 33rd Separate Mechanised Brigade, was held. Oleksii was killed while performing a combat mission in Donetsk oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that the Air Armed forces destroyed one attack UAV in the oblast. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 3 January, the russian army attacked Stepnohirsk. As a result of the russian strike from a BM-21 “Grad” MLRS, several residential buildings were destroyed, and a fire broke out. An elderly man was killed, and his wife was hospitalized with injuries.

Yesterday, the occupiers launched 302 attacks on 13 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces launched 5 airstrikes at Malokaterynivka, Prymorske, Shcherbaky, and Novodarivka. 202 UAVs of various modifications attacked Bilenke, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Malynivka, Novodarivka, and Olhivske. Six MLRS strikes targeted Novodarivka, Shcherbaky, and Bilohiria. Additionally, 89 artillery strikes hit Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Malynivka, Novodarivka, and Olhivske. Thirteen reports of destruction to residential buildings and infrastructure were received.

It is reported that the enemy continues to shell the positions of Ukrainian forces and civilian infrastructure, making one attempt to advance toward Novoandriivka. The enemy conducted airstrikes with unguided bombs on Lobkove, Shcherbaky, and Piatykhatky.

According to the South Operational Command, the enemy made five assault attempts towards Zaporizhzhia over the past day, trying to break through to Novodarivka and Novopillia.

Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) working at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) reported hearing explosions at varying distances from the station. There was no damage to the ZNPP.

Since January 1, the occupation authorities in temporarily captured Melitopol began blocking the phone numbers of consumers without russian passports. The resistance movement Yellow Ribbon reported that phone numbers are not only being blocked but also cannot be topped up or connected to any tariff plans. In addition, security forces in Melitopol are stopping vehicles without russian license plates and insurance, threatening owners with confiscation for “SVO needs” in case of repeated stops.

Mykolaiv oblast

On 2 January, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community three times using FPV drones. Additionally, at 16:20, russian forces attacked Pervomaisk region. The aerial target lost its combat capability and fell in an open area, with the blastwave damaging three private houses. There were no casualties.

On the night of 28 December 28, 2024, in Mykolaiv, a vegetable oil spill into the South Buh River occurred due to damage to a storage tank by drone fragments. Over 9,000 square meters of water and 7,000 square meters of soil were contaminated. Twenty rescuers were involved in cleanup operations. As of 3 January, 70 tons of oil have been pumped out of the South Buh River. The cleanup is expected to take approximately two weeks.

Demining operations continue on areas of Mykolaiv oblast mined as a result of military aggression. According to reports, potentially mined areas in 19 communities cover 865,000 hectares, which accounts for 35% of the region’s total area. So far, 543,000 hectares have been surveyed, including 395,000 hectares inspected during 2024. 167 pyrotechnic teams comprising 1,091 specialists have been involved in the region’s demining efforts.

Odesa oblast

As of 6 am on 3 January, one enemy ship carrying Kalibr cruise missiles was present in the Black Sea, but it was not armed with missiles. There were eight enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, including carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo capacity of up to 26 missiles.

Five vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in the interests of the russian federation, and four ships passed into the Sea of Azov.

A serviceman of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade, Ihor Kondratevych, was awarded the Hero of Ukraine title and the Golden Star. Senior Lieutenant Ihor Kondratevych has been performing assault operations since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, participating in the liberation of Kherson in 2022, Neskuchne and Makarivka in 2023, and near the settlement of Krynky in 2023-2024.

Military personnel Ihor Stamov, who went missing from the village of Delen, was awarded the medal “For the Defense of Ukraine.” The award was presented to his wife, who continues to await his return.

Kherson oblast

Today, an elderly woman was injured in Antonivka due to an attack by a russian drone. The 80-year-old woman sustained an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to her forearm.

Around 2:40 p.m., russians targeted a cyclist in Antonivka with a UAV. The 63-year-old man sustained an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to his forearm.

A resident of Bilozerka was injured during a russian attack. At the time of the assault, the 52-year-old woman was in her yard. She sustained an explosive injury and a concussion.

A russian attack injured a 39-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman in Monastyrske, Novoraisk community, both suffering from explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds.

Around 10:00 a.m., russians attacked Kherson with a drone. A 59-year-old man suffered an explosive injury and a leg wound.

Yesterday, russian forces continued to shell the right bank of Kherson oblast using MLRS, artillery, and UAVs. Civilians and infrastructure remain the primary targets. Kherson, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, Prydniprovske, Naddniprianske, Poniativka, Dariivka, Antonivka, Beryslav, Sablukivka, Zamozhne, Chervonyi Maiak, Zolota Balka, and Novoraisk were affected by the attacks. Three apartment buildings, five private homes, a museum, a vehicle fleet, a public bus, and a car were damaged. Ten people were injured due to russian aggression.

Later, Kherson RMA reported that the number of injured from yesterday’s russian shelling of a minibus in Kherson rose to five. A 68-year-old woman sought medical attention, having sustained an explosive injury.

The number of russian attacks in 2024 increased by one and a half times compared to 2023. russian forces fired approximately 218,000 shells at the right bank of Kherson oblast.

Yesterday, russians attacked Kozatsky Island in Dnipro estuary three times. After failing and suffering personnel losses, the enemy retreated to their starting positions. The defense forces of southern Ukraine eliminated 49 russian personnel, 11 vehicles and armored equipment, 4 howitzers, 2 reconnaissance UAVs (“Zala” and “Orlan-10”), 1 boat, a motorcycle, and a quad bike. They also destroyed 2 “Murom-M” surveillance systems, 3 electronic warfare systems (including the “Pereoed-M”), a “Starlink” satellite terminal, a generator, 4 communication antennas, and 2 UAV control antennas. Eight bunkers and two personnel shelters were hit.

Employees of Kherson Art Museum identified another painting stolen by the russians in 2022 during their retreat from the city. The total number of identified artworks now stands at 130.

Police and volunteers helped evacuate two large families from Bilozerka. With the “Save Ukraine” volunteer organization, law enforcement officers transported 12 adults and 7 children aged 1 to 13 from the dangerous area. The families are now safe and heading to Lviv oblast.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Since October 2024, evacuated children from Sumy oblast have been staying in Volyn oblast. These are children of the children’s home and 2 centers of social and psychological rehabilitation, who currently live in the Open Doors family and children’s support center. A total of 41 children and 16 accompanying staff.

The Military unit A4765 received a mobile six-band DELTA-TEC Loli X6 EW system, an EW radiation mask made of Faraday fabric and 6 magnetic bases with a 5-meter wire from Lutsk community.

Zakarpattia oblast

This week, the Owl’s Nest Humanitarian Aid Center provided IDPs registered in Uzhgorod with 10 packages with necessary things for children under 1 year old and 100 bags with grocery sets. During the week, volunteers gave out clothes, shoes, bed linen and dishes (1,005 items) from the PDUM Partnerschaft Deutschland-Ukraine/Moldova e. V., Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V., the Hungarian Ecumenical Relief Service and other benefactors.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

In 2024, Ivano-Frankivsk community allocated UAH UAH 16.17m for rehabilitating 1,617 defenders. 

Lviv oblast

A charity event was held in Morshyn, where UAH 1,157m were raised for the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigades. These funds will buy 100 FPV drones. In order to raised the necessary amount during the event, a charity auction was held, where the most valuable lot was the watch of artist Kateryna Zubyk Father of the Nation with the saying of Stepan Bandera: “Life should be lived so that after your death Muscovites fear you for several more generations”.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that over the past year, the local budgets of the oblast donated over UAH 1bn to defense needs, including almost UAH 180m from the regional budget.

The police received another anonymous report about the mining of the building of Rivne RMA and the Regional Council. According to the protocol, employees were evacuated. Special services examined the premises – no explosive objects were found.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil community sent an AVENGER Booster signal booster kit and 4 batteries for DJI Matrice 30 Series drones to the military thanks to the Defense Capability program, taking into account the request of the commander of the military unit.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In the morning, during an air alarm signal, the Air Defense Forces destroyed an enemy UAV of the Shahed type. The places where the debris fell are being established. There were no injuries, deaths or destruction.

Chernivtsi oblast

With the support of Germany, Volokivsk community updated the equipment in the medical clinic and installed solar panels totaling almost €32,000. For the first time, with the financial support of the Engagement Global fund and the partner community of Thirhaupten, Swabian district, Germany, Volokivsk community implemented the Effective Medical Care – a Healthy Community project. 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Rustem Umierov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, announced that Ukraine received a consignment of equipment from partners from Estonia, the Netherlands and Luxembourg in the amount of over €3.3m as part of the IT coalition program.

On 1 January, Ukraine became a full member of the International Criminal Court. Now the country has the opportunity to participate in the Assembly of ISS participating states: to submit issues for its consideration; to vote for the allocation of the ISS budget; participate in the elections of judges and other elected officials, in particular the prosecutor of the ICC and influence the priorities of the ICC and the development of changes to the Rome Statute.
