The situation on the front line remains tense but controlled. Ukrainian defenders continue to actively oppose the russian aggressor, causing him losses in manpower and equipment.
On 7 July, there were 78 combat clashes.
Border settlements of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts continue to suffer from cynical artillery shelling from the territory of the russian federation. The vicinity of Popivka, Pavlovka, Vodolahy, Miropilske and Nova Huta was hit by gun fire and RSZV.
At the same time, under constant bombardment of enemy aircraft is Kharkiv oblast. From the Russian cities of Belgorod and Shebekino, terrorists carried out eleven airstrikes, dropping 24 KABs. Ukrainian settlements Lyptsi and Vovchansk were under enemy fire.
Towards Kharkiv, the russian occupiers attacked the defensive borders of Ukrainian units near Starytsia, Lyptsi and Vovchansk three times. Two attacks were repelled, one – continues.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy stormed Ukrainian positions seven times in the vicinity of Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchyne, Synkivka, Stelmakhivka and Andriivka. Three rounds of fighting continue. The Ukrainian soldiers are steadfast in defense.
Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out 10 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainians near Makiivka, Hrekivka, Nevske and Terny. Seven battles ended without success for the enemy, three more – continue.
The enemy continues to look for weaknesses in Ukrainian defense towards Siversk. Near Verkhniokamianske, defenders of Ukrainian land repelled two enemy attacks. The situation remains under control.
Towards Kramatorsk, the occupiers carried out one assault on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Kalinivka. The fight is still on.
Towards Toretsk, there were three unsuccessful enemy attacks in the vvicinity of Pivnichne and Toretsk.
Towards Pokrovsk, there was the largest number of clashes. The occupiers have made 27 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the vicinity of Niu-York, Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Kalynove, Progres, Lozuvatske, Novoselivka Persha and Yasnobrodivka. The defense forces restrained the onslaught and repelled 19 enemy attacks, eight battles are still ongoing. The enemy’s losses are specified.
It should be noted that in this direction, the soldiers of the 110th separate mechanized brigade named after General Mark Bezruchuk shot down the enemy aircraft Su-25.
One battle continues towards of Kurakhove. Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 attacks of the occupying army. The enemy concentrates his efforts towards of Paraskoviivka.
Towards Vremivka, there were seven enemy attacks near Vodiane, Makarivka and Kostiantynivka. Six attacks were repelled, another – continues.
Towards Orikhiv, Ukrainian units repelled two assaults of the russians. Here, the occupiers failed in the vicinity of Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne.
Towards the Dnipro River area, the enemy unsuccessfully attacked Ukrainian defenders on the left bank of the Dnieper.
Ihor Klimenko, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, announces that 1325 civilians were evacuated from the frontline areas of Donetsk oblast in a week. 35 people among the evacuated are children.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports that in the Armed Forces adaptive clothing for wounded soldiers will appear. The main requirement was comfort for the injured, technological and wear resistance.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
The General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that from the side of Belgorod and Shebekino, the russians carried out 11 airstrikes, dropping 24 KAs. Lyptsi and Vovchansk were under fire.
Towards Kharkiv, the russian occupiers three times attacked the defensive borders of Ukrainian units near Starytsia, Lyptsi and Vovchansk. Two attacks were repelled, one is ongoing.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the RMA, says that the occupiers struck the village of Bohuslavka, Boriv community of Izium region. As of now, two civilian victims are a 48-year-old man with shrapnel wounds to his legs and a 70-year-old woman who is hospitalized in serious condition. The elimination of the consequences continues.
As a result of the explosion of the enemy mine, four people were killed, among them a child. The family was driving a car on a dirt road in the forest in Kharkiv region. The identification of the bodies continues. According to relatives of the victims, there could have been six people in the car: 4 adults and 2 children. Investigators and rescuers are working at the scene.
The day before at 11:50pm, in the park zone of Kharkiv an enemy drone was eliminated. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
At 02:07am, Bohodukhiv region was attacked. The wreckage of the downed drone damaged the administrative building.
At 01:23 the enemy shelled Dobropillia village, Bohodukhiv region. As a result of the shelling, grass burned on the area of 1500 square meters.
The day before at 6:42pm, in Tsapivka village, Bohodukhiv region, as a result of the shelling of wheat on the area of 4.5 hectares burned.
At 3pm, village Novoosinove, Kupiansk region, was hit by strikes on the summer cooperative. As a result of the shelling, a coniferous bed on an area of 4 hectares was burning.
Also at 3pm, occupiers shelled Stary Saltiv, Chuhuiv region. As a result of the shelling from Lancet, a man was injured.
At 10:45am, village of Odorobivka, Bohodukhiv region, was shelled. As a result of the shelling, a woman was injured and a 47-year-old man was killed.
At 7:00am, in Vovchansk, a woman was injured as a result of a car collision with an unknown object.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy continued offensive and assault operations with the support of aviation, a total of 11 combat clashes took place in the vicinity of Vovchansk, Hlyboke and Lyptsi settlements.
Towards Kupiansk, the number of clashes per day increased to seven. The defense forces repelled enemy attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka, Petropavlivka and Stelmahivka, Kharkiv oblast.
Donetsk oblast
Nazar Voloshyn, Spokesman of Khortytsia combat unit, informs that The Armed Forces eliminated about 82,000 Russian troops on the eastern front over the past three months. These losses were suffered by the russian army from April to June 2024.
The General Staff reports that 49 russian attacks were repelled by the Armed Forces towards Pokrovsk on July 6. The active army of the russian federation remains towards Lyman, Kurakhiv and Toretsk with collectively repelled 55 attacks per day. In total, the day before on the eastern front, Ukrainian military repelled 124 russian assaults.
Ukrainian intelligence hit two russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk oblast on July 6. The scouts hit a warehouse with equipment for tanks and ammunition in Debaltseve, as well as destroyed the russian REB station in Novoluhansk.
The Center of National Resistance informs that 80,000 tons of grain were exported by the russian occupation authorities from Donetsk oblast. Since the beginning of the year, the russians have exported Ukrainian grain 15 times through the port of occupied Mariupol.
Towards Pokrovsk sector, anti-aircraft gunners of the separate mechanised brigade named after Lieutenant General Marko Bezruchko shot down a russian Su-25 aircraft that was firing at the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
Anastasia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman for Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office, reports that russian troops attacked the village of Niu-York and Illinka in Donetsk oblast. Two people were wounded and taken to hospital.
The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 7 July:
Pokrovsk region. Kurakhove community came under numerous shelling: a house in Hirnyk was damaged, 4 houses in Kostiantynopilske, 3 houses in Kurakhivka; the private sector of Kurakhove and the outskirts of Dalne and Hannaivka are under fire. In Ukrainsk, Selidove community, 1 person died and 3 were wounded, 6 multi-storey buildings, a private house and 4 garages were damaged. In Novohrodivka, 5 houses were damaged. In Hrodivka community, 8 houses were damaged: 5 in Progres and 3 in Vesele. An enterprise and an administrative building were damaged in Pokrovsk.
Kramatorsk region. In Lyman community, 2 houses in Kolodiazi were destroyed, 4 houses in Zarichne were damaged. In Kostiantynivka community, 5 houses in Markove, several houses in Stupochky and Predtechyne were damaged.
Bakhmut region. In Niu-York, 1 person was killed and 3 injured, 3 houses and an infrastructure facility were damaged. Another 1 house and a shop were damaged in Toretsk. In Chasiv Yar, 3 private houses and 2 multi-storey buildings were damaged.
According to Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Military Administration, over the past day, russians killed 2 residents of Donetsk oblast, namely in Niu-York and Ukrainsk. Another 8 people were wounded in the region over the day.
Luhansk oblast
The enemy is increasing pressure in Ukrainian frontline areas. He tried to advance six times towards Kupiansk sector near Stelmakhivka.
Towards Lyman, russian troops attacked 19 times in the vicinity of Nevske, Makiivka and Hrekivka. Six firefights are still ongoing, all the others were stopped by Ukrainian troops.
The de-occupied villages of Luhansk oblast were also under heavy fire.
In addition to UAVs, which the enemy used 38 times in Makiivka and 30 times in Nevske, the russians used aircraft.
The russians also fired 13 artillery shells at Makiivka and 11 at Nevske, which was also covered by MLRS fire.
Despite the fierce fighting around the area and constant bombardment, food parcels were delivered to residents of Nevske and Novoliubovka. Humanitarian aid from the Parasolka volunteer movement was delivered to Krasnorechensk military base.
Artem Lysohir, Head of Luhansk Region Military Administration, informs that under the threat of losing their homes, residents of the occupied territories began to speak out on social media against the arbitrariness of local gauleiters. They say that there are no destroyed buildings among the ‘abandoned’ housing, the lists of which have already been published in Rubizhne and Kreminna. Another list of 20 houses in Varvarivka, near Rubizhne, caused a surge of indignation among people. Local residents also blame the occupation authorities for the unbearable living conditions – without water, electricity, normal communication and the ability to receive basic services.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
Kyiv City State Administration informs that in Kyiv, power engineers have restored two-thirds of their own generating capacity after russian missile attacks. Modern European technologies are being used in the restoration process, and necessary equipment is being delivered. The capital is planning to decentralize its electricity and heat production system by constructing small and medium-sized CHP plants.
Deputy Defence Minister Natalia Kalmykova reported that the second recruitment centre for the Ukrainian army in Kyiv oblast has been opened in Brovary. The Centre offers more than 10,000 vacancies in various units of the defense forces. The centre does not check documents or issue summonses, but only helps people find a job in the defence forces.
Mayor Vitalii Klychko announced that in Kyiv, residents of a residential building on Velyka Vasylkivska Street, together with the city, have implemented a set of energy efficiency measures. Solar panels and inverters were installed in the house, which serve as a backup source of electricity. The batteries can power an individual heating station for up to 48 hours. Lighting of common areas and exterior lighting will run on batteries for a day, and connected elevators – for 12 hours.
According to Kyiv City State Administration, the City Council has identified 53 more monuments and signs that reflect Soviet and russian propaganda narratives. They will be reinterpreted or deleted from the streets of the capital. In particular, 30 objects are to be removed from the public space of the city, 23 objects are to be preserved with the removal of certain elements of the composition, correction of the text or its individual parts.
The second day of Protasiv Yar festival in Kyiv was dedicated to the memory of Roman Ratushnyi, a civil society activist and scout with the 93rd Kholodnyi Yar Brigade who was killed near Izium. The organisers said the festival’s aim was to spread the idea of civic activism, that one person or a small group can change their neighbourhood, city and the whole of Ukraine.
A charity race Running for those in Combat Boots 2.0 was held in the capital. It was organized by the Hurkit Charitable Foundation to raise funds for the needs of one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Center for Civil Liberties and The Kyiv Independent invite everyone to watch and discuss a new film made in Ukraine – the investigative film Destroy in Full or in Part. The film’s protagonists, Ukrainians who have faced russian war crimes, tell about their own experiences. The event will take place on 18 July 2024.
Kyiv Zoo has welcomed new residents – Eurasian spotted owls rescued by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. For their comfort, the staff set up wooden houses, multi-level perches, feeders and drinkers.
Zhytomyr oblast
There are 828 shelters in Zhytomyr community, including 4 radiation shelters, and 736 simple shelters. The Executive Committee approved the fund of shelters of Zhytomyr City Territorial Community. The fund is reviewed quarterly, and all the shelters in the region are included in the state register.
On the afternoon of 6 July, about 200 people from several regions gathered on Korolyov Square and came to the centre of Zhytomyr with posters to remind the public about the soldiers who are in russian captivity or went missing during the fighting. Families of prisoners of war and missing persons, their friends and other concerned people joined the action.
Sumy oblast
On the night of 7 July, air defense forces destroyed a russian Shahed drone over Sumy oblast. According to the RMA, since the beginning of 2024, air defense forces have shot down 40 russian Shahed drones in Sumy oblast.
At night and in the morning, russians attacked the border areas of Sumy oblast 13 times. A total of 58 explosions were recorded, including attacks from mortars, cannon and rocket artillery, FPV drones, and the dropping of an explosive device from a UAV. The Khotyn, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivska, Shalyhyne, Seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske communities were shelled.
Over the past day, the russian military fired 26 times at Sumy oblast with a total of 76 explosions recorded. According to the RMA, 7 border communities were shelled.
In Velyka Pysarivka, the enemy fired from artillery (3 explosions), mortars (24 explosions) and attacked with 2 FPV drones (2 explosions). In Myropillia community, 6 mines were dropped by russians. In Znob-Novhorodske community, the enemy fired from cannon artillery (7 explosions). Seredyna-Buda community was shelled with cannon artillery (6 explosions) and mortars (8 explosions). In Krasnopillia community, an explosive device was dropped from a UAV (2 explosions), FPV drone strikes caused 2 explosions. Esman community was shelled with mortars (5 explosions). Bilopillia community experienced mortar attacks (5 explosions), artillery shelling (4 explosions), and FPV drone strikes (3 explosions).
One of the projects of the International Organisation for Migration aimed at paying monetary assistance to the civilian population has been completed. The project ran from 10 December 2023 to 6 July 2024. More than 7,200 people returned from the temporarily occupied territories in Sumy oblast, of whom 6,209 used evacuation routes and received payments, including 84 residents of the region evacuated from the cities of Bilopillia and Vorozhba. More than 16,000 people received financial assistance worth about UAH 60m.
Chernihiv oblast
In Chernihiv oblast, russian troops attacked two border communities. According to the State Border Guard Service, there were 31 explosions. The enemy attacked Semenivka community with 22 strikes against Bleshnia, Mkhy, Progres and Liskivshchyna settlements with mortar, cannon artillery and explosive devices dropped from a UAV. The russians fired mortars at the territory of the Snovska community – there were 9 attacks against Kliusy.
The police of Chernihiv oblast reported that on 6 July, russian troops attacked a village in the Novhorod-Siverskyi region with drones. Two houses caught fire as a result of the explosions. No people were injured.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the Oblast Council, reports that an enemy reconnaissance drone was shot down. In the evening and into the night, the occupiers attacked Nikopol with Grads, artillery and drones. A 71-year-old woman was injured, but she is fine. As a result of the shelling there were several fires, which damaged enterprises, 6 private houses, 3 farm buildings, fire equipment, garages, a car and a gas line. In the morning the enemy continued attacking Nikopol. Two women 65 and 38 years old were injured in the shelling. A college, a kindergarten, a private enterprise and 4 houses were damaged. Pavlohrad was also hit with 4 private houses damaged.

The goal is to show women that there is an environment where you have the right to talk about your problems without being ashamed of it.

In Kremenchuk, an open crossfit tournament NO FIGHT, NO GLORY was held in memory of Maksym Kahal, Hero of Ukraine, senior lieutenant of the Azov brigade. The soldier was killed in action on 25 March, 2022, while defending Mariupol.
Cherkasy oblast
In Cherkasy there was a march in support of prisoners of war. Indifferent citizens, military families, non-governmental organizations and volunteers with flags and posters walked the route to remember the soldiers who are now in captivity.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
On 6 July, russian forces carried out 361 attacks on Zaporizhzhia oblast. Eight settlements were under enemy fire. The enemy launched airstrikes on Huliaipole and Novodanylivka. Additionally, 138 various types of drones targeted Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, and Novoandriivka. Seventeen MLRS attacks hit Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, and Mala Tokmachka. Furthermore, there were 204 artillery strikes on Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Malynivka, and Levadne. Three reports of housing destruction were received.
There were four combat engagements towards Orikhiv. The enemy faced fierce resistance near Robotyne and Novodanylivka.
Mykolaiv oblast
On 7 July, a ceremonial raising of the Ukrainian Navy flag and the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine by a military orchestra took place in Mykolaiv to commemorate the Day of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The event also honored the memory of fallen defenders who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country with a minute of silence and the laying of wreaths and flowers on the water.
Odesa oblast
A woman injured in the ballistic missile strike on port infrastructure in Odesa region has died in the hospital. On 4 July, russian forces attacked the civilian port infrastructure in Odesa oblast with a ballistic missile.
According to the Ukrainian Navy, as of the morning of 7 July, there are no enemy ships in the Black Sea. However, three enemy ships are present in the Sea of Azov, and two carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo of up to 24 missiles are in the Mediterranean Sea.
Families of missing sailors held a car rally in Odesa to commemorate the Day of the Naval Forces of Ukraine. The event was organized by the public organization United by the Sea, created by relatives of the missing sailors from the landing-assault boat “Stanislav” and the patrol boat “Sloviansk.” The patrol boat “Sloviansk” sank on 3 March, 2022, near the Kinburn Spit after being attacked by russian aviation. The landing-assault boat “Stanislav” sank on 7 May, 2022, near Zmiinyi (Snake) Island, also following an attack by russian aviation.
Kherson oblast
Three people were killed and four injured as a result of russian attacks on Kherson oblast. Yesterday, the enemy attacked Kherson, Antonivka, Kizomys, Dniprovske, Stanislav, Prydniprovske, Beryslav, Khreshchenivka, Novoberyslav, Olhivka, Shevchenkivka, Burhunka, Tiahynka, Vysoke, Charivne, and Mykhailivka. The enemy also carried out airstrikes with eight guided bombs on Tiahynka, Burhunka, Vysoke, and Charivne. Powerful explosions significantly damaged a preschool educational institution and the administrative building of a lyceum. The shelling damaged 20 objects in Kherson region, namely 14 private and 2 multi-story buildings, a kindergarten, 2 administrative buildings, a shop, and a café, where a fire broke out.

It is reported that the enemy carried out 5 assaults on the left-bank area of the Dnipro River. After suffering losses, they retreated to their starting positions.
As part of the charity campaign Ukrainian Books for Ukrainian Children, the public organization Poruch delivered books from partners of the Charity event to the settlements of Kherson oblast. The goal of this campaign is to update the library collections. New copies of modern books are now available for children in Bila Krynitsa, Zahorianivka, and Starosillia.
A new humanitarian aid shipment was delivered to Novoraisk community. Residents received hygiene products, including those for women and the elderly, portable charging stations, solar-powered flashlights and lamps, mattresses, bedding, and other essentials. The aid came from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Ukraine’s Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine (UHF) and partners.
A resident of Nova Kakhovka organized a charity bike race to support displaced persons from Kherson oblast. On 29 June, the charity bike race Tour de France Ukraine began, aiming to raise funds to help displaced persons from Kherson oblast. The project was initiated by Serhii Krasnov, a master of sports of Ukraine in cycling. Serhii plans to cover 3,500 kilometers in 23 days – the length of the route of the world-famous Tour de France. He will cover this distance on the roads of Ukraine simultaneously with the race in France.

Volyn oblast
Lutsk City council reported that the community sent a SYNYTSYA 6 REB station, which will provide an advantage over the enemy, suppressing his electronic systems and protecting Ukrainian positions, to the Military Unit A4932.
Zakarpattia oblast
Zakarpattia medical institutions received 35 laptops thanks to the Ministry of Health and the World Bank within the framework of the project Strengthening the Health Care and Life Saving System (HEAL Ukraine). In total, almost 700 pieces of equipment were purchased for the needs of Ukrainian doctors.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Since the beginning of the summer, sappers from Prykarpattia have surveyed 12.5 hectares of territory, discovered and defused 250 explosive objects, and since the beginning of the war in the territory of Donetsk oblast, 653 engagements have been carried out by pyrotechnic calculations of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast and surveys have been conducted on an area of 1,226 hectares, on which 1,189 units of explosive objects were detected and neutralized.
Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that 45 soldiers from the community, who were wounded at the front, will receive assistance in the amount of UAH 1,99m from the city budget. Since the beginning of the year, such payment has been allocated to 280 wounded soldiers in the amount of UAH 13,72m.
Ivano-Frankivsk community sent 80 FPV drones to the 109th Separate Mountain Assault Battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade Edelveis.
Lviv oblast
A project to help evacuated citizens is being completed in Lviv oblast. In total, over 16,000 Ukrainians took part in the project from the International Organization for Migration. Within the scope of the project, Ukrposhta organized the payment of cash assistance for evacuees from settlements in areas of hostilities in the amount of UAH 3,600. People received help upon arrival. Almost UAH 60m were paid to Ukrainians. The project was launched at the initiative of the Ministry of Reintegration to support the evacuated civilian population.
The Department of Military Sports of Lviv City Council has launched additional services as part of the Program for reimbursement of funds for visits to fitness centers. From now on, military personnel in Lviv can use rehabilitation services free of charge, namely various types of health and therapeutic massage, physical therapy, reflexology, electrical stimulation, hardware procedures, etc.
Inna Korolenko, Junior Sergeant of the Armed Forces, and Yevhen Tiurin, Senior Sergeant of the National Guard of Ukraine, from Lviv oblast entered the Ukrainian national team at the Invincible Games in 2025 in Canada. At qualifying tournaments, Inna competed in archery and swimming, and Yevhen – in table tennis and archery.
Rivne oblast
This year, 320 residents of Donetsk oblast have been evacuated from war zones and found shelter in Rivne oblast. Since March, the oblast has received 9 evacuation trains. IDPs received one-time assistance in the amount of UAH 3,600 from the International Organization for Migration. Funds were provided to passengers on evacuation routes organized by the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine. Payments were made by representatives of Ukrposhta at the arrival stations of Rivne and Zdolbuniv.
Ternopil oblast
In Ternopil, a memorial plaque was installed on the facade of the administrative laboratory building in honor of the serviceman Vitalii Venher. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he defended Ukraine.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi community sent 6 powerful DJI Matrice 30T quadcopters and a PEP device worth UAH 1.3m to the Defense Forces thanks to the budget funds.
Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that in the 1st quarter of 2024, Krasnoilsk community allocated over UAH 300,000 for the needs of the military.
