The russian aggressor does not abandon its plans to occupy Ukraine and continues to wage a war of aggression, striking and shelling both military and civilian targets.
The russian federation continues to use terror tactics. Today, the enemy launched 2 missile and 26 air strikes and fired about 20 times from multiple launch rocket systems. Civilians were injured, and private homes and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
The likelihood of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.
The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka directions. Ukrainian defense forces repelled more than 30 enemy attacks in the above-mentioned areas of the frontline over the last day. The fiercest battles are for Bakhmut and Marinka, and our soldiers are holding steadfastly.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that at least 18 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were shelled.
In Blyzniuky, Kharkiv oblast, 40 sakura trees were planted in memory of the fallen Ukrainian military, Chernobyl victims, and soviet soldiers killed in Afghanistan in 1980s. The first trees were planted in early May by relatives of Ukrainian defenders who were killed during the full-scale invasion.
The enemy fired artillery, mortars and other weapons at the border and frontline settlements in Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Izium and Kupiansk regions. Chervona Zorya, Hlyboke, Lyptsi, Vesele, Ogirtseve, Vovchanski Khutory, Vetarine, Novomlynsk, Kamyanka, Dvorichna, Vilkhuvatka, Zakhidne, Lyman Pershyi, Iziumske and other settlements were under enemy fire.
The shelling damaged private houses and outbuildings and caused fires. There were no civilian casualties.

Toretsk community was under fire all day: 16 houses were damaged, 1 person killed and 3 wounded. A house was damaged in Chasiv Yar.
Towards Lysychansk, 2 houses were damaged in Zvanivka, 1 in Siversk and 1 in Zarichne of Lyman community. The shelling destroyed and damaged 40 residential buildings, educational institution buildings, kindergartens, a factory, a farm, a bridge, a gas pipe, a water pipe, a power line, a warehouse, an outbuilding, civilian cars and a service vehicle.
Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported that russians killed 2 residents of Donetsk region: in Niu York and Bakhmut. Another 5 people were wounded in the oblast.
According to Serhiy Honcharenko, Head of Donetsk City Military Administration, a girl who was wounded in the shelling of Kramatorsk on April 29 died in hospital.

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, forced passportization of citizens in Stanychno-Luhanska community continues. There has been no talk of reconstruction for almost a year. The occupiers are not even able to establish transportation links. Vitalii Klychko, the Mayor of Kyiv, reported that a fire broke out in a 4-storey building of a shopping center in Solomyanskyi district as a result of the fall of UAV wreckage. Besides, another fire in a small area was caused by the fall of drone debris in Pecherskyi district. According to the city authorities, no buildings were damaged and no people injured.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayan paid the first visit to Ukraine in the history of bilateral relations. Police officer-filmmaker from Kyiv oblast was injured as a result of russian shelling in Kherson. Law enforcers were treating the wounded in a shopping center and came under repeated shelling by Grad MLRS rockets. In Kherson oblast, Olena Petrolai and her dog Pan assisted in area demining.
In Kyiv oblast, a unit of the Land Forces received Renault vehicles equipped with DShK machine guns with kits, laser illumination devices and Stinger man-portable air defense systems. The vehicles purchased by Kyiv authorities have undergone appropriate maintenance and repairs. The unit that received the equipment will begin combat training next week.
From now on, SES divers use underwater drones in their operations. These drones are able to descend swiftly to depths and inspect reservoirs or underwater facilities without posing a danger to the diver. The equipment was purchased by the Ukrainian FireFighters Foundation, a charitable organization, thanks to the Ultramarathon of Gratitude in which rescuer Volodymyr Skovorodka took part. He ran a distance of 850 km from Kyiv to Warsaw in 14 days.
Four trucks were delivered to military units based in Zhytomyr oblast. According to the Zhytomyr City Council, the trucks purchased were previously in service in European countries. Besides, the military received four thermal imaging cameras, two rangefinders and a Mavic 3 drone purchased at the expense of the local budget.
In Radomyshl community, a granite trident was installed on the ceiling of the Memorial of Glory instead of the Soviet Order of Victory sign at the expense of local patrons. According to the city council, on October 14, 2022, the Heroes’ Memory Alley was opened at this site, where forty Zhytomyr residents who were killed in the war with russia are now buried. In the future, it is planned to build a full-fledged memorial complex here.
The city council reported that the Alley of Memory of Unconquered Cities was laid in Zviahel, where more than 1000 rose bushes and other plants were planted. People who were forced to leave their homes because of russia’s armed aggression, families of fallen heroes, MPs, teachers, and social welfare workers participated in creating the Alley.
According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, on May 4, the russians shelled the border communities 14 times. There were around 90 explosions recorded. The settlements of Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Khotyn, Miropillia, Krasnopillia, Shalyhine, Nova Sloboda, and Velyka Pysarivska communities were shelled.
As a result of mortar shelling of Nova Sloboda community, a local resident was injured. Moreover, three private houses, a village center, and 2 residential buildings were damaged in the border areas due to hostile shelling.
At night and in the morning, the enemy launched 6 attacks. There were 43 explosions. Esman, Seredyno-Buda, and Bilopillia communities were under enemy fire. A civilian house and a yard were damaged as a result of shelling by the russian military in Tovstodubove village, Esman community.

Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of Sumy RMA, reported that Sumy oblast was the first among Ukrainian oblasts to receive three vehicles for the needs of communities from UNDP and Canada. In particular, Bilopillia community received one of the vehicles to provide social services to people with limited mobility; the other two were given to Sumy Regional Center for Social Services and the mobile group for technical inspection of buildings and structures of Sumy Oblast Roads State Enterprise.
The State Border Guard Service reported that on May 4, there were seven attacks on the territory of Chernihiv oblast. In total, the enemy fired six aircraft missiles and 25 120-mm mortar bombs. In Chernihiv oblast, a funeral service for 14-year-old teenager Valentyn Mekhed, who was killed by a russian air bomb on May 1, was conducted. The incident took place in Lizunivka village, Novhorod-Siverskyi region, where russian occupiers fired guided aerial bombs from fighter jets. The boy did not have time to run to the house and was mortally wounded by a piece of shrapnel that hit him in the neck. According to the village head, Valentyn’s two older brothers are now defending Ukraine at the frontline.
Servicemen of the ‘North’ Operational command joined a charity event and donated patriotic books to support the destroyed Chernihiv regional library for youth. On March 11, 2024, the russian troops damaged the library building with three bomb attacks and destroyed part of the book collection.

The russians destroyed ten private houses, an outbuilding, gas pipelines, and power grids. On May 4, the enemy carried out 92 attacks on 18 populated areas of Zaporizhia oblast, launching 3 airstrikes, 3 UAV attacks, 2 MLRS and 84 artillery attacks. russian forces also attacked the regional center with S-300 missiles. One S-300 missile hit an infrastructure object in Zaporizhia, and the multiple rocket launchers “Smerch” hit an open area in the territory of Komyshuvakha territorial community.

russian troops are settling in the homes of local residents on the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson oblast. According to Kherson RMA, Kherson needs 158 street shelters.
