It has been the 677 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian army continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, conducts strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using tactical aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armored vehicles, and has increased the number of air strikes.

On January 1, there were 56 combat clashes. The enemy launched a total of 1 missile and 81 air strikes, including strikes with Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs, carried out 37 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential and apartment buildings, and other civilian and industrial infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

It is reported that russian occupiers have once again attacked Ukraine with 10 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. Ukrainian defense forces destroyed 9 enemy UAVs.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Mala Vovcha and Okhrimivka (Kharkiv oblast). More than 25 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Leonivka (Chernihiv oblast), Znob-Trubchevska, Seredyna-Buda, Bachivsk (Sumy oblast), Kozacha Lopan, Vovchansk, and Budarky (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka and east of Petropavlivka (Kharkiv oblast), where the occupiers, with air support, made unsuccessful attempts to break through Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched airstrikes near Kucherivka, and Cherneshchyna (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10x settlements, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka,and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted no offensives. The occupiers launched airstrikes in the area of Serebryanske forestry (Luhansk oblast) and near Terny, and Spirne (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Serebrianka, Spirne, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 10 attacks in the vicinities of Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, and 14 more attacks in the vicinities of Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the enemy conducted unsuccessful attempts to improve its tactical situation. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, specifically Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sievierne, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the invaders conducted no offensives. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Mar’inka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). The settlements of Heorhiivka, Pobjeda, Novomykhailivka, and Kostyantynivka were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, the invaders conducted no offensives. They launched airstrikes near Staromaiorske and Velyka Novosilka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the russian army made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost ground in the vicinity of Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 3x assaults in the area. More than 25 settlements, including Poltavka, Chervone, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Piatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the russian army fired artillery at the settlements of Novokairy, Veletenske and Kherson (Kherson oblast).

The occupiers have not abandoned their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the day, the enemy made 18x unsuccessful assaults. The Ukrainian troops are holding the line and keep inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 13 buildups of enemy troops. Also, air defense forces shot down 1 Kh-59 air-launched guided missile.

The Ukrainian rocket troops hit 1 buildup of enemy troops, weapons, and military equipment, 6 artillery systems, 3 air defense systems, and 1 command post.

Lieutenant General, Serhii Naiev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, says that russia has up to 19K troops in the three regions bordering Ukraine. It continues its open armed aggression against Ukraine in Briansk, Kursk and Belhorod oblasts. Enemy military units are conducting reconnaissance, shelling border areas, using aviation and kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles, and launching ballistic and guided missile strikes. In addition to military installations, russia is trying to destroy energy, transportation and industrial infrastructure, and is launching cynical attacks on residential areas, medical and educational institutions, shopping centers and warehouses with humanitarian supplies. To accomplish these tasks, the aggressor country has deployed a group of troops totaling about 19,000 people armed with tanks, armored combat vehicles, artillery and missile equipment, air defense systems, and tactical missile systems. 

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports that on January 1, a hotline for military personnel and their families was launched at the short number 1512. The Ministry of Defense hotline number 0-800-500-442, which is available to users of all mobile operators, also continues to operate. Dozens of highly professional employees of the Government Contact Center will be consulting the military and their families on complex and painful issues and registering their requests around the clock.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops launched airstrikes near four settlements in Kharkiv oblast. Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy attacks near Synkivka and east of Petropavlivka. In addition, more than 30 settlements in Slobozhanske and Kupiansk were under attack.

In December, it became known about 39 killed Ukrainian soldiers from Kharkiv oblast. The deaths were officially reported by communities or universities.

At least 50 residents were injured last week as a result of russian shelling and another man injured in a shell explosion in the forest. 8 people were killed in the shelling of Vovchansk, Izium, Kupiansk and Kharkiv between December 25-31. Information about those injured or killed in action was provided by official sources in regional or local administrations, law enforcers and the State Emergency Service.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that 11 people injured in the shelling of Kharkiv on 30 December remain in medical institutions of the region. There are 2 victims in the surgical department. Another 6 victims are being treated in neurosurgery departments. Doctors assess their condition as stable. Also, 3 victims are in stable condition in the polytrauma unit. A 16-year-old boy, who suffered cut wounds to his head and abrasions to his back, was discharged from hospital in satisfactory condition.

Yesterday about 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan of Kharkiv region, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, Budarky of Chuhuiv region, Bolohivka, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove of Kupiansk region.

The enemy launched airstrikes near Ivanivka, Kupiansk region.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 22 enemy attacks near Synkivka and Petropavlivka of Kupiansk region over the day.

At 1:10 pm, a private household was damaged as a result of hostile shelling in Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region. There were no casualties.

At around 1:30 pm, there was an enemy shelling of Ivashky village, Bohodukhiv region. A gas pipeline and two apartment buildings were damaged.

At 4:50 pm, the invaders attacked the territory of an enterprise in Chuhuiv. A hangar building was partially destroyed and a warehouse damaged. Three people were injured and two others rescued.

Donetsk oblast

In 2023, more than 27K new IDPs were registered in Donetsk oblast and these are people who changed their place of residence within the region. There are currently more than 550K of them in the region. At the same time, according to the regional administration, 525K people live in the region. The population of the region increased by about 1% over the year.

In Pokrovsk, utility workers are repairing the damage caused by the shelling on New Year’s Eve. Russian troops launched seven Tornado missiles. The shelling destroyed 5 private houses, while another 31 private houses and 22 apartment blocks were damaged. A medical facility, a boiler house and a gas pipeline were also damaged. 89 houses and a dormitory were left without gas supply.

Kostiantynivka City Military Administration reported that on the night of January 1, russian troops shelled Kostiantynivka with Uragan multiple rocket launchers. The shelling damaged five private houses, a gas pipeline and power lines. There were no casualties.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said that at night and in the morning of January 1, russian troops shelled Ocheretyne community with artillery, killing one person and injuring another. He also noted that russian troops shelled Pivdenne village of Toretsk community with artillery. A person was killed in the shelling.

The press service of Donetsk police informed that residents were injured during russian shelling on 31 December. They hit ten settlements in the region 17 times.

Luhansk oblast

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, said that the invaders did not reduce the number of attacks on the last day of 2023, launching about 540 shells in that area of the front. They opened fire near Nevske and Bilohorivka.

Being in active defense, Ukrainian troops are trying to inflict maximum damage to enemy equipment and personnel. Also russians tried to storm Makiivka several times but were repelled. The invaders used aircraft in Serebrianka forest.

According Luhansk Regional Military Administration, residents of the settlements near Dovzhansk have been waiting for almost three weeks for the electricity supply to be restored. Due to the inability of the energy sector in the so-called ‘luhansk people’s republic’ to organize its work properly, tens of thousands of people have been waiting for repair crews for a week to two weeks after the bad weather. However, several villages are still without electricity. The reaction of the local population remains ignored.

In less than two years, Bilovodsk hospital has gone from being one of the best in the region to being unable to have any kind of examination or see a specialist doctor. In December, medical workers from Novosibirsk Oblast arrived there, having travelled 3,500 kilometres. The village, which was occupied in 2022, had been without a surgeon, gynaecologist and resuscitator for the entire time. The examination will last for several weeks, after which the hospital will be empty again.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On January 1, 2024, russian forces began attacking Kyiv oblast with drones again. This was reported by the KCMA. In several districts of the capital, the sounds of explosions were heard during an air raid. These were air defense forces working on enemy targets.

Serhii Popko, Head of the KCMA, says that the bodies of those killed in the missile strike on 29.12.23 are still being found – rescuers have taken another body out of the rubble. The Russian army killed 28 people with a missile strike on 29 December.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv Military Administration, says that on the eve of the New Year, the enemy continued massive attacks. The region was attacked by kamikaze drones.  Air defense systems were operating in the oblast. There was no information on the fall of debris on infrastructure or residential areas. There were no casualties.

Colonel-General Serhii Popko, Chief of the Ukrainian Military Academy, summed up the results of 2023. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war in Kyiv, air raid warnings have sounded 939 times. The total duration of the alerts was almost 1,097 hours, or more than 45 days in total. In 2023, russia carried out 73 air attacks on the capital, during which it launched more than 800 munitions. The press service of the KCSA, says that between 24 February 2022 and 31 December 2023, 69 people were killed in Kyiv as a result of the war, one third of them as a result of the shelling on 29 December 2023. 294 residents of the capital were injured, 146 of them in 2023. 

A British volunteer medic, 25-year-old Catherine Melnychuk, who worked in Ukraine, was found dead in her home in Kyiv. She had spent the last 18 months in Ukraine carrying out medical and operational work. Katherine Melnychuk said that the purpose of her unit, which consists of 200 foreigners, is to assist medical workers on the ground with critical equipment, vehicle repairs and fuel.

An open-air exhibition “Generations of War” continues in the capital near the Freedom Arch. The exhibition, which runs until 17 January, features works by artists from six countries.

The city council reported that in Irpin, major repairs to the Hostomel Highway have been completed. The reconstruction of the city, destroyed by the russian occupiers, is actively underway.

Zhytomyr oblast

Berdychiv Regional State Administration informs that since 19 April 2023, when the first train with IDPs arrived from Donetsk region, 683 people have arrived in Zhytomyr oblast. The train departs from Pokrovsk and runs to Berdychiv. At the station, each train is met by rescuers, psychologists, law enforcement officers, representatives of local authorities, the Red Cross of Ukraine, and Caritas.

Mayor Serhii Sukhomlin says that Zhytomyr residents sent drones, EcoFlo and sights to the frontline.

Sumy oblast

Russian forces hit a residential building in Esman community, Sumy oblast with a Shahed drone. There are people under the rubble, three being rescued. The search and rescue operation continues. Later, the Office of the Prosecutor General said that a woman was killed as a result of a drone attack on a house.

On New Year’s Eve, russian invaders fired 9 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast, there were 31 explosions. 

Sumy Regional Military Administration reports that the russian army fired 29 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 162 explosions.

A New Year’s charity race took place in Sumy. According to the organizer, Vitalii Ivakh, 16 athletes and one dog registered for the race, and they easily covered the 5km distance. The oldest participant was 59 years old, and the youngest was 9.

During the week, SES pyrotechnics discovered and destroyed 13 explosive ordnance. The destroyed arsenal included an unguided aircraft missile, rocket and artillery shells, mortar shells and grenade launchers. In total, 807 cases of detection of explosive devices were recorded in the region last year.

Chernihiv oblast

The russian army fired 4 times at the border areas of Chernihiv oblast. There were 26 explosions. The enemy fired at Novhorod-Siverskyi and Koriukivka regions with artillery and mortars. Terrorists fired towards the villages of Khrinivka of Snovska community and the village of Chornozem of Semenivka community. At night on 31 December, russians fired mortars towards the villages of Leonivka and Bleshnia of Semenivka community.

The Northern Border Guard reports that on 31 December, russians fired 3 times from their territory at the border of Chernihiv oblast. There were 16 explosions. Semenivka and Snovska communities were shelled. 

The Department of Civil Protection and Defence of Chernihiv Regional State Administration in Chernihiv oblast, 15 settlements were completely cut off from electricity as a result of hostilities. 7 10 kV power lines (6 of them partially), 15 settlements in full and 4 settlements in part, 42 transformer substations, and 910 subscribers were de-energised.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

At night 5 enemy Shahed drones were destroyed in the oblast. They were shot down by the Air Force in Dnipro, Synelnykove, Novomoskovsk and Kamianske regions.

In Dnipro, an enemy UAV hit one of the enterprises. Rescuers extinguished the fire that broke out.

One and a half thousand homes in Piatykhatky community of Kamianske region were left without electricity. It was due to an enemy drone attack on a power line. 

The enemy attacked Nikopol with artillery. As a result of the evening shelling, a gymnasium, 13 private houses, 2 outbuildings, garages, 5 power lines, gas pipelines and fences were damaged.

The enemy attacked Nikopol and Myrove community. They used artillery and 7 kamikaze drones. Kryvyi Rih and Zelenodolsk community were shelled. Power lines and Internet connection were damaged.

At about 5:00 pm, a russian cruise missile was heading towards Dnipro through the airspace of Nikopol region. The Air Force destroyed the missile over Dnipro district.

Vinnytsia oblast

On New Year’s Eve, Ukrainian defenders shot down five enemy kamikaze drones over Vinnytsia oblast. In Tulchyn region, the debris of a downed enemy drone damaged a garage and windows of several houses. There were no casualties.

For Christmas and New Year holidays, children from Sloviansk received over 150 packages from Vinnytsia municipality. They include toys, stationery, clothes, sweets and books. The packages were delivered to Donetsk oblast by volunteers.

Kirovohrad oblast

According to the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, on New Year’s Eve the Air Defense Forces destroyed a russian drone in Kirovograd oblast.

Poltava oblast

Filip Pronin, Head of Poltava RMA, reported that three educational institutions in 2024, which will provide 900 beds for IDPs, will be renovated in Poltava oblast with the financial support of UNHCR. The partnership will also renovate housing in Velyki Budyshcha, Velyka Rublivka, Hoholivka, Novoselivka and Pyriatyn communities. Work is underway to bring temporary accommodation facilities in line with the standards approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.

Cherkasy oblast

According to Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, on New Year’s Eve 3 Shaheds were destroyed in Cherkasy oblast. One house was slightly damaged. There were no casualties.

As of January 1, two people remain in hospital as a result of a missile attack on Smila.

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, reported that 91 houses were damaged as a result of a missile attack on Smila. Of these, 8 will be rebuilt from scratch. Another 4 are currently on hold. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, russian forces launched 159 strikes on 25 cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Occupiers attacked Zaporizhzhia, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Chervone, Malynivka, Novodarivka, Novoandriivka, and Stepove with 32 drones. They carried out 20 MLRS attacks on Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodarivka, Levadne, Stepnohirsk, and Mali Shcherbakova. Additionally,  Novodanylivka was hit with an aviation projectile. 106 artillery strikes targeted Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Bilohiria, Levadne, Preobrazhenka, Verkhnia Terasa, Piatyhatky, Plavni, Kamianske, Lobkove, and other settlements along the front line. Due to the russian aggression, four residents of the region were wounded. There were 12 reports of residential buildings and infrastructure objects being destroyed.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 5 russian attacks near Robotyne and south of Novodarivka towards Zaporizhzhia. This information was reported by the General Staff.

Air raid sirens sounded 1934 times in Zaporizhzhia oblast during 2023. These data includes the period from the beginning of 2023 until 10:00 on December 15, 2023.

The bulk carrier SAN COSMAS loaded a batch of sunflower seeds in the port of Feodosia during an illegal trip to the occupied Crimea. According to the documents, the seeds were stolen from the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia oblast. After that, the vessel transported the seeds to Turkey for a company from the United Arab Emirates. This information was reported by investigative journalists from the SeaKrime project, who traced the entire route of the bulk carrier.

The Run of the Strong and Brave was held in Zaporizhzhia on January 1. Young men under the age of 19 participated in the event, covering a distance of six kilometers. According to the organizer of the run, Mykola, a representative of the youth organization Centuria, this event aims to show that young people in Ukraine lead a healthy lifestyle.

Mykolaiv oblast

On the night of December 31, a fire occurred at an infrastructure facility in Mykolaiv oblast as a result of a strike by a Shahed 131/136 UAV. The fire was promptly extinguished. No injuries were reported. Overall, 14 Shahed UAVs were destroyed by the air defense forces in the region.

The russian army continues shelling the territory of coastal communities using artillery. On December 31, at 12:25, russians shelled the village of Dniprovske in Kutsurub community, resulting in damage to a private house. On December 31, at 12:35, 21:56, 23:07, and on January 1, at 05:30 and 07:00, the enemy shelled the village of Solonchaky in Kutsurub community. Additionally, at 15:24, the russian army conducted artillery strikes at the waters of Ochakiv community. No casualties or injuries were reported. This information was provided by Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

Residents of Mykolaiv oblast have heard air raid sirens for a total of 79 days, 10 hours, and 9 minutes since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. There were 852 air raid alarms in the region in 2023. The “most alarming” day was Thursday, while alarms were least frequently sounded on Sundays. Over the past year, alarms were sounded for a total of 37 days. During this time, the corridors, bathrooms, and basements of Mykolaiv residents transformed into shelters.

Odesa oblast

A 15-year-old teenager was killed as a result of the russian attack in Odesa. Three more people were injured and hospitalized. Three multi-storey buildings, three private houses, utility structures, and cars were damaged. Also port infrastructure was damaged. This information was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Odesa City Council reports that operational headquarters have been set up in Odesa to assist residents of the buildings damaged by the russian attack. These headquarters are operating in three districts of the city: Peresypskyi, Prymorskyi, and Khadzhibeiskyi. 

Kherson oblast

The russian army shelled a residential building in Veletenske. Two people  were trapped under the rubble. A 73-year-old woman suffered fatal injuries, while another local resident with leg and back injuries was successfully rescued. Occupiers also attacked Novokairy in Mylove community, injuring a local resident with explosive trauma and chest injuries. russian forces attacked Komyshany, causing injuries to a woman in her own home, diagnosed with a skull-brain injury and concussion.

The russian army conducted 123 shelling attacks, launching 565 projectiles from mortars, artillery, Grad MLRSs, tanks, drones, and aircraft, including one missile. The city of Kherson was shelled with 92 projectiles. The police initiated 12 investigations into war crimes committed by russian military forces in Kherson oblast.

The enemy carried out 3 air strikes using 10 guided aerial bombs on Zmiivka, Chervonyi Maiak, and Kachkarivka on the right bank of Kherson. Occupying forces conducted 30 artillery shelling attacks on settlements, with intense fire covering Kherson and Sadove being shelled twice. Residents of Bilozirka, Antonivka, Inhulets, Stanislav, and Mykhailivka were once again shelled. An 11-year-old child was killed, and 14 civilians, including a 9-year-old, injured. Various infrastructure was damaged, including a children’s club building, an Invincibility Center, an emergency medical station, a gas station, 7 multi-story buildings, almost 20 private houses, a store, a gas pipeline, cars, and garages.

Doctors continue to fight for the life of a 9-year-old boy who sustained serious injuries in a russian strike on Kherson. Being diagnosed with a severe skull-brain injury, the boy was transported to Mykolaiv, where he underwent surgery. Currently, he is in the intensive care unit, and after stabilizing his condition, a second operation will be performed in Kyiv hospital.

The enemy continues its attacks, using FPV drones, strike UAVs like Lancet, and other modifications with striking functions and elements. There were 11 such strikes and 10 releases of fragmentary munitions at Stanislav, Berehove, Iantarne, Veletenske, Olhivtsi, Lvove, Zolota Balka in Kherson oblast, and Solonchaky in Mykolaiv oblast.

In December 2023, 17 people were killed, and 73 injured in Kherson community due to the russian shelling. The enemy attacked Kherson community over 1.5 times more frequently and used nearly a thousand more projectiles than in November. In December, the russian army shelled the community 644 times, launching 2858 projectiles and intensifying attacks on Kherson with Shahed drones.

According to the regional military administration, as of January 1, 2024, 2460 people have suffered from the russian armed aggression in Kherson oblast. Since the beginning of the de-occupation, 454 people, including 11 children, were killed, and 2006 people, including 83 children, injured.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue efforts to expand the foothold on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Odesa operational-strategic group  zone of responsibility. Despite significant losses, the enemy persistently attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions. In the past day, aggressors conducted 13 unsuccessful assault actions.

At the same time, Ukrainian forces inflicted great losses on the occupiers in personnel and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line. Volyn oblast

Zakarpattia oblast

 At the end of November, Ivano-Frankivsk community announced a tender for the purchase of half a thousand kamikaze drones. The entrepreneur who won the tender delivered them to the city council.

Lviv oblast

From 4 to 6am, Lviv oblast was attacked by 4 enemy attack drones of the Shaheed type. All the drones were destroyed. As a result of the impact of the wreckage, a fire broke out in the museum of Corporal General Roman Shukhevych on Bilohorshcha Street in Lviv. There were no casuslties. The building was completely destroyed.

Due to the fall of the fragments of the Shahed drone in Dublyany, the 600 m2 roof​​ and the 120 m2 ceiling ​​were destroyed, 5 windows of Lviv National University of Natural Sciences were destroyed. There was a fire. It was promptly extinguished. There were no casualties.

Lviv City Council sent another batch of equipment to the defenders, namely, UAVs, generators, thermal imagers, EW systems, etc., worth over UAH 10K at the expense of the community.

Also, in the Lviv community budget for 2024, UAH 1 billion has been provided for the purchase of equipment and necessary means of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

During the year, 215 alarms sounded in Rivne oblast, the most in August. During December, 26 air warning signals were recorded in the oblast, which is almost twice as many as in November. The signal lasted most often in August (38 times). During the 676 days of the war, there were 536 air alarms in Rivne oblast, 215 of them last year.

Ternopil oblast

In 2023, an anti-aircraft machine gun battalion was formed to perform combat missions and protect the airspace of Ternopil oblast. The military is equipped with vehicles equipped with turrets and large-caliber machine guns, means of autonomous communication, surveillance, early detection of targets and other special equipment.

During the year, over 16K military personnel received medical and rehabilitation assistance in Ternopil oblast.

UAH 100 was allocated from the regional budget for the needs of military personnel.

As a result of the attack, a child received injuries in the form of open damage to the thoracic spine. The girl was hospitalized. There was also a fire in a private garage, which was quickly extinguished.

Chernivtsi oblast

Security officers will soon work in 39 educational institutions of Bukovyna within the Security Officer project in the oblast.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
