Over the last day, the enemy launched 3 missile and 47 air strikes, fired 55 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops’ positions and settlements. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.
There is still a high threat of further missile and air strikes all across Ukraine.
There were about 20 combat engagements during the day.
Towards Volyn and Polissiya, the situation remained unchanged.
Towards Siversk and Sloboda, russian troops launched airstrikes near Hremiachka and Leonivka in Chernihiv oblast. They fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 15 settlements, namely Volodymyrivka, Synkivka, and Yasna Poliana in Chernihiv oblast; Atynske, Stepok in Sumy region and Strilecha, Pylyna, Hatyshche in Kharkiv oblast.
Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops are holding steadfastly.
The russian military conducted airstrikes near Sinkivka and Kotliarivka, Kharkiv oblast and Novoselivske, Luhansk oblast. More than 10 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Kucherivka, and Kupiansk in Kharkiv oblast.
Towards Lyman, the enemy launched airstrikes near Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Ternivka, Serebrianka, Spirne and Vesele in Donetsk oblast. The enemy’s artillery shelling targeted the towns of Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk oblast.
Towards Bakhmut, Ukrainian troops are holding steadfastly, successfully repelling enemy attacks on the outskirts of Klishchiivka, Donetsk oblast. The russian army conducted airstrikes near Kramatorsk, Markove, Klishchiivka, Pivnichne and Niu York in Donetsk oblast. More than 10 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling, namely Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Bohdanivka, and Ivanivske in Donetsk oblast.
Towards Avdiivka, under heavy fire from enemy aircraft and artillery, UKrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks by russian troops in the areas of Avdiivka and Sievierne in Donetsk oblast. There were airstrikes in the areas of Sievierne and Pervomaiske in Donetsk oblast. Avdiivka, Tonenke, Soloviove, Pervomaiske and Karlivka in Donetsk oblast came under artillery fire.
Towards Marinka, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the russian offensive in the vicinity of Marinka. The enemy launched an airstrike near Krasnohorivka. Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk oblast came under artillery fire.
Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost position near Staromaiorske.
There were airstrikes in the areas of Vremivka, Blahodatne and Staromaiorske in Donetsk oblast. Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne, Staromaiorske in Donetsk oblast and Levadne in Zaporizhzhia oblast came under artillery fire.
Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy conducted airstrikes near Novodanylivka and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast. More than 15 settlements came under artillery fire, namely Malynivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Mali Shcherbaky in Zaporizhzhia oblast and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
Towards Kherson, more than 10 settlements came under enemy artillery fire, including Mykilske, Veletynske in Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson, as well as Kutsurub and Ochakiv in Mykolaiv oblast.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol and Berdiansk, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.
It is reported that russia continues to illegally integrate temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine into its socio-political space. In the village of Stulneve, Zaporizhzhia oblast, the occupiers began preparations for campaigning before the so-called ‘elections’ in the occupied territories on the single election day in russia on September 10. Representatives of the United russia party are expected to arrive to create groups of agitators and informants from among local collaborators.
Aviation of the defense forces carried out 9 strikes on buildups of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.
Rocket and artillery units destroyed 2 control points, 5 artillery pieces at firing positions, an ammunition depot and 2 enemy electronic warfare stations.
Oleksandr Kamyshin, reports that since the beginning of 2023, the production of Stugna-P anti-tank missile systems has quadrupled in Ukraine. Production continues to grow.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that the Ukrainian counteroffensive is difficult. However, the initiative belongs to Ukraine. “It is very difficult to fight for so long. It’s very difficult when you have a shortage of certain weapons. All this is very difficult because it is a war. I just know that it is difficult for us, but I know for sure that it is more difficult for russians. We have fatigue in our eyes, yet they have fear in theirs,” he said.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informed that on August 7, the russian military tried to conduct 12 attacks in this sector, including towards Bilohorivka.
Also russian troops targeted Ukrainian positions and settlements with artillery and mortars 397 times.
The russian army also continues to actively apply aviation; they conducted 20 raids.
While repelling the attacks, 19 invaders were eliminated and 73 injured. Five tanks (T-80, T-72 and even T-62), three armoured personnel carriers, an engineering vehicle, a mortar, three drones and a field depot with russian ammunition were hit.
Kharkiv oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops repelled russian attacks near Synkivka and north of Ivanivka.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that yesterday evening around 7:45 pm, the invaders attacked Kruhliakivka village, Kupiansk region, with four guided bombs. Six buildings were damaged. A 45-year-old woman and men aged 52 and 65 were killed. Men aged 46, 59 and 61 and a 60-year-old woman were injured and hospitalized. A 57-year-old woman was treated on the spot and did not need hospitalization. Also among the injured and hospitalized were 2 employees of the State Emergency Service, aged 22 and 46, and 2 employees of the National Police, aged 21 and 24. All of the hospitalized injured are in moderate condition and their lives are not in danger. Andrii Kanashevych, Head of Kupiansk Regional Military Administration, informed that over the past three days, russians have dropped 10 guided bombs on Kruhliakivka.

On August 7, russian invaders shelled settlements of Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions with artillery, mortars and other weapons. A 63-year-old civilian man was injured as a result of shelling in Petropavlivka village, Kupiansk region. In Kucherivka village, Kupiansk region, the shelling damaged the buildings of civilian enterprises and a forest fire broke out. The shelling of Kupiansk damaged residential buildings and caused fires. In Cherneshchyna village, Izium region, the shelling damaged the buildings of a farm.
Oleksandr Kulik, Spokesman of Derhachi City Military Administration reported that at around 9:20 am, the enemy shelled residential areas of Kozacha Lopan, Kharkiv region, with tanks. The shelling was conducted from the territory of belgorod oblast (russia). Two civilians were injured and hospitalized in critical and moderate condition. There were hits on private buildings and outbuildings and a fire broke out.
During the day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 8 hectares of territory and defused 55 explosive ordnance.
Hennadii Zahoruiko, Head of Oskil community, said that for more than a year, the liberated Dovhenke village, Izium region, has been without gas, water and electricity supply. None of the services will be restored by the end of 2023.
Victoriia Kolenko, Spokeswoman of the National University of Civil Protection, confirmed that more than 600 applicants have applied to the university, which is one and a half times more than in 2022. According to her, this year there are more people interested in becoming rescuer workers, crisis psychologists and sappers.
Donetsk oblast
Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that on August 7, towards Bakhmut, russian troops shelled the positions of Ukrainian Defence Forces with artillery 630 times. There were 10 engagements, during which 67 russian invaders were eliminated and 118 injured.
Also russians attacked downtown Pokrovsk last night. They launched two strikes with Iskanders at 7:15 pm and 7:52 pm. They destroyed and damaged apartment buildings, private houses, administrative buildings, food establishments and a hotel. 7 people were killed (five civilians, a rescuer and a soldier) and 88 injured (39 civilians, including two children born in 2006 and 2012; 31 police officers, 7 rescuers and 4 soldiers). This is the information as of 11 am.

Serhii Dobriak, Head of Pokrovsk City Military Administration, said that 200 people lived in the five-storey building that was hit by the first missile, and all 60 apartments in the building were damaged. The hotel next door, which was hit by the second missile, has not been open for the past month as it was closed due to the danger. Previously, it was used by journalists and humanitarian missions that came to Donetsk oblast.
The Donetskoblgaz gas-supplying company reported that during the liquidation of the emergency situation, a 44-year-old gas worker was killed and another suffered a head injury and was hospitalized in Dnipro.
The City Military Administration said that in Pokrovsk, August 8 was declared a Mourning Day for those killed in a double rocket attack on the city on 7 August.
According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, the outskirts of Kramatorsk were attacked, with no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, a building in Selydove and 7 buildings in Uspenivka of Kurakhove community were damaged. In the morning, russians shelled Avdiivka with tanks and artillery and launched an airstrike. Krasnohorivka was attacked.
Towards Horlivka, a school and 8 buildings in Chasiv Yar community and a building in Shcherbynivka in Toretsk community were damaged.
Towards Lysychansk, 3 buildings were damaged in Siversk. In Zvanivka community, a building in Pereizne was destroyed and a building in Zvanivka was damaged.
In the morning of August 8, russian troops shelled Avdiivka with tanks and artillery and launched an airstrike.
In Mariupol, russians are using a new tactic of hiding. According to Petro Andriushchenko, Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, they are hiding in buildings that are supposed to be “undergoing repairs”.
Since the beginning of the year, the Bilyi Yanhol (White Angel) group of police evacuation crews, which operates in Marinka, has evacuated about 300 people and delivered over 28 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the frontline.

Luhansk oblast
According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, our troops hold positions in both directions in Luhansk oblast. Thus, another enemy attempt to storm south of Novoselivske was repelled. The invaders are intensifying artillery attacks along the entire frontline. Bilohorivka and Kuzmyne were under enemy attack.
For more than a week, the invaders have been greatly complicating the entrance to Rubizhne. However, this was not enough for them. Now, in addition to a pass from the occupation administration, they also need permission from russian troops.
Blackmail of entrepreneurs is growing in Sievierodonetsk as well. The occupation authorities have seized the retail space for their own use, the ownership of which has not been confirmed by anyone within the established terms.
The pressure on the residents of the so-called luhansk people’s republic is increasing. According to the legislation of the russian federation, from 1 July 2024, a person without a russian passport will be recognised as a foreign citizen and will face deportation if he or she presents a threat to the invaders.
Referring to the report of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Novoliubivka village, Svatove region, was shelled by russian troops with artillery, resulting in the complete destruction of a bridge.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
The Department of Urban Development and Architecture of Kyiv RMA reported that a programme for restoration and development of the oblast in 2023-2027 is being developed. It defines goals and steps to restore damaged infrastructure, economy, and the environment.
Kyiv City Military Administration warned that units of the State Emergency Service will be eliminating explosive ordnance Vyshhorod region.
UNESCO recommends adding two areas located in Kyiv to the list of world heritage sites at risk. These are St Sophia’s Cathedral with the adjacent monastic buildings and Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. The final resolution on these sites will be adopted in September.
Leonid Tymchenko, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, awarded employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the creation and implementation of the 112 service in Kyiv. According to him, the unified emergency hotline has received 60,360 calls in the capital, 25 calls from foreign citizens, and 1,405 calls to the sign language interpreter’s workplace. Work is underway to introduce the 112 hotline in other regions.
Kyiv RMA reported that in Kyiv oblast, 8 more communities received new school buses. A week ago, the first batch of 10 buses was delivered. A total of 45 vehicles will be delivered to schools. The buses are purchased at the expense of the state and local budgets.
The Lots of Care project for integrated rehabilitation of wounded servicemen was presented in Kyiv. To raise funds for the project, it is planned to involve about 50 celebrities and rehabilitate at least 100 wounded soldiers.
A charity race Running for the Mother Tongue will be held at Kyiv VDNKh on Independence Day. The event aims to support Ukrainians who are under occupation and cannot speak Ukrainian, as well as those who have difficulty in switching to Ukrainian.
Zhytomyr oblast
Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, reported that the scheduled work of the Ukrainian special services continues, so the explosions were heard during the day.
Computers were handed over to the military at the front line. Two sets of computer equipment worth UAH 168 K were purchased by Zhytomyr residents and sent to the 95th separate air assault brigade.
Sumy oblast
Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that on August 7, the russian army launched 11 attacks. There were 88 explosions. 7 settlements in Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Seredyno-Buda, and Velyka Pysarivka communities were shelled with mortars and grenade launchers. Private houses and cars were damaged.
The Regional Military Administration reported that the enemy carried out 2 attacks at night and in the morning. There were 11 explosions. Two settlements in Khotyn community were shelled with mortars.
Daria Filipieva, military medic from Sumy, perished in the war. She saved hundreds of lives of Ukrainian soldiers. For her contribution, she was awarded the Steel Cross medal of honour.
Work continues in Sumy oblast to increase the stock of protective structures. Over the past week, 41 shelters have been set up in the region. According to the Department of Civil Protection of Sumy RMA, thorough work was carried out in Konotop district, where 30 protective structures were built.
Thanks to foreign partners, pyrotechnic teams in Sumy region were provided with Croatian-made MV-10 and MV-4 mechanized demining vehicles. Until recently, SES pyrotechnics had to walk through large areas of contaminated land meter by meter and examine them manually with a metal detector and a probe.

Chernihiv oblast
The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that the russian occupiers carried out 20 attacks on Chernihiv oblast, shelling three communities. They hit the village of Yanzhulivka, Semenivka community twice, presumably from mortars. The enemy launched 9 mortar and 9 AGS attacks at the village of Hremiach of Novhorod-Siverskyi community. The village of Senkivka in Horodnia region sustained 3 attacks, allegedly from cannon artillery.
Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that a truck was sent to the front from Chernihiv to ensure the delivery of drinking water to the positions. The vehicle was provided for the 1st Siverskyi Tank Brigade by a volunteer. The defenders also received two Mavic quadcopters, pumping stations for vehicles, first aid kits, lights, turnstiles, and other necessary items. A special vehicle was also sent from the Belgian charity BEforUkraine and the Mercy and Health Charity Foundation.
Borzna community reported that the hospital in Nizhyn region has received a modern medical vehicle from philanthropists. It is equipped with a diagnostic monitoring monitor, gurneys, turnstiles, and other modern equipment necessary for patient handling.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Vinnytsia oblast
An ambulance with resuscitation equipment and medical supplies, a jeep, six radios, and two night vision devices were delivered to Ukrainian defenders by Vinnytsia volunteers in cooperation with British volunteers. The 81st and 95th Brigades received this assistance.
Serhii Borzov, Head of the Vinnytsia RMA, reported that Vinnytsia oblast is helping residents of Kalynivske village, Kherson oblast to restore the settlement. Currently, 5 teams from Vinnytsia oblast are working there.
Poltava oblast
According to Dmytro Lunin, Head of Poltava Regional Military Administration, 33 network switches were handed over to the police and the State Emergency Service of Poltava oblast. The equipment will improve interaction between the units, database operation, and information exchange.
Cherkasy oblast
The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy oblast reported that rescuer workers visited a summer rehabilitation camp for children affected by the war. They demonstrated first aid techniques, and each participant practiced resuscitation with a dummy.

On August 8, at 2 am, the russian army launched three S-300 missile strikes on the village of Yulivka, Zaporizhzhya oblast.
The body of a 53-year-old man, who had been reported missing, was recovered from the rubble of a house destroyed by an airstrike in Novodanylivka. The rubble was cleared.
An 83-year-old woman was injured as a result of the nighttime artillery shelling in the village of Preobrazhenka, Zaporizhzhya oblast.
Zaporizhzhya RMA reported that on August 7, the russian army struck 105 times at the settlements of the oblast.
Mykolaiv oblast
Serhii Shaikhet, Head of the regional police, says that russian troops shelled the village of Kutsurub in Kutsurub community. Two teenagers, aged 13 and 16, were taken to the hospital with mine-blast injuries. Residential buildings and vehicles were damaged.
The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv oblast, reports that underwater demining specialists received a waterproof Noktra Makro Simplex+WHP metal detector with the Nokta Pointer indicator from Estonian benefactors. This device is equipped with removable search sensors. Pulse IP technology allows the metal detector to operate stably in saltwater and on any difficult terrain. The device is already being used by sapper divers in the oblast to survey water areas.
Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, says that Mykolaiv oblast is ready to unblock ports after the de-occupation of the Kinburn Spit.
Odesa oblast
The press service of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company reports that the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company has released the vessels Bratislava and Mekhanik Holovatsky, which were arrested under a lawsuit filed by russia. Kherson oblast
According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, the village of Mykilske, Kherson region, was shelled by the russian military. A house was hit and a 50-year-old woman injured.
On August 7, the russian army carried out airstrikes near Zmiivka, Tomaryne and Odradokamyanka. More than 15 settlements were under artillery fire, namely Kherson, Kizomys, Olgivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske and Respublika.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that on August 7, the russian army attacked Kherson oblast 68 times. They fired 342 shells at the region and 18 at the city. They hit residential areas and the Invincibility Centre in Kherson. One person was killed and 13 injured.
According to Hanna Malyar, Deputy Defense Minister, in temporarily occupied settlements of Kherson oblast, in particular in Kakhovka, the russian military spread fakes about the withdrawal of their troops.
In the temporarily occupied Kherson oblast, the so-called pro-russian election commission allowed local residents to vote with a Ukrainian passport of any type.
Kherson Regional Military Administration said that Kherson oblast received a mobile water treatment unit. This is the first large station of this type to be delivered to Ukraine. The unit purifies over 2000 liters of water for drinking within an hour. The assistance was provided by Latvia.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
A shelter for 22 IDPs was opened in the village of Bodnariv of Kalush community. There are eight rooms, a kitchen, a dining room and bathrooms. The kitchen is equipped with electric hobs, multi-cookers, refrigerators, dishes and microwave ovens. There are washing machines in the sanitary rooms.
Lviv oblast
The RMA reported that Brodivsk community and Eigersund municipality of the Kingdom of Norway signed a memorandum of cooperation. Staryi Sambir, Kolbuszów (Poland) and Ploermel (France) signed an intention to cooperate.
132 reconnaissance and combat drones (110 kamikaze drones; 21 Mavic drones (various configurations); 1 Matrix 300 RTK drone with an additional camera; 3 control complexes for FPV drones) were sent to the 7th and 12th border detachments, the 67th separate mechanized brigades, the counterintelligence unit of the Security Service of Ukraine, 24 separate mechanized brigades, and the 80th separate airborne assault brigades. From March 31 thanks to the Birds of Victory Charity Project sent 880 drones.
Outpatient clinics of Horodotsk community received 8 generators thanks to the HOPE.UA Foundation.
Defenders Mykhailo Andrievskyi, Ivan Luniv, Andrii Toman and Oleksandr Shishkin from Drohobych region, and Ihor Vesniy from Chervonohrad region were awarded with the 3th degree For Courage Order (posthumously). Awards were presented to relatives of killed defenders.
27 children from Khodoriv community, whose parents defended or are currently defending Ukraine on the front lines, went on vacation in Stravchyna, Keletsky District, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship thanks to Polish partners.
Rivne oblast
5 teams from the oblast continue to restore Kochubei community within the Side by Side project. 108 residential buildings out of 170 damaged objects have been restored.
Drinking water, fuel, filters for water purification, thermal guns, boats, wetsuits, electric generators, electric and motorized pumps, chainsaws, construction tools and materials were sent to Kherson oblast from Rivne oblast. UAH 20.9 mln was allocated from local budgets to provide assistance. Communities of the oblast also sent 129K liters of bottled water and 2 water trucks. In addition, the Rivneoblenergo brigade is carrying out emergency restoration work in Kherson oblast.
The RMA reported that Rivne Regional Volunteer Headquarters has made 390 camouflage nets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ternopil oblast
Sons and daughters of defenders visited the School of Folk Crafts in Ternopil as part of the Children of Ternopil Community Heroes Program. A master class on creating textile products was organized for children.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Pavlo Dziatko, employee of Khmelnytskyi City Council, received the honorary badge Silver Cross from Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In January 2023, he was awarded with the Steel Cross honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The RMA reported that during the past week, 37 IDPs arrived in Khmelnytskyi oblast by evacuation trains, 24 of them were accommodated in the oblast.

Chernivtsi oblast
Ivan Tkachuk from Kitsmani received the Golden Cross badge from Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The soldier is currently undergoing rehabilitation in a military hospital after being wounded.
