Russian invaders continue to assault the positions of Ukrainian defenders. Since the beginning of the day, 69 combat engagements have been recorded.
Border settlements suffer from artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation, particularly Tymonovychi in Chernihiv region and Doroshivka, Hirky in Sumy region. Shostka was hit by an airstrike.
Today, Ukrainian defenders repelled six enemy attacks in the Northeastern-Slobozhanske and Kursk directions. The enemy also launched three airstrikes, dropped six glide bombs (KABs), and carried out 162 shellings, including two from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
In the Southern-Slobozhanske direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions three times near Starytsia and in the Vovchansk area. Our warriors put up a strong defense.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Radkivka, Kupyansk, and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction, the occupying army launched 11 attacks near Novyi Myr, Zelenyi Hai, Hrekivka, Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, Karpivka, and Torske. The Defense Forces successfully repelled nine attempts to advance; two battles are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy carried out one unsuccessful attack on Defense Forces’ positions.
In the Toretsk direction, the occupier launched one attack near Toretsk today.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the enemy has made 35 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Poltavka, Volodymyrivka, Novotoretsk, Novoekonomichne, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Udachne, Kotlyne, Novopavlivka, Oleksiivka, and toward Novopidhorodne. The Defense Forces are holding back the enemy and have repelled 27 attacks, while eight combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attacked twice near Temyrivka, with clashes still continuing.
In the Huliaipole direction, enemy aviation struck Bilohiria.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions twice near Kamianske. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy tried to break through Ukrainian positions four times. They also launched an airstrike on Odradokamianka.
In other sectors of the front, the situation remains largely unchanged.
On the night of July 26, Russia attacked Ukraine with 235 aerial weapons, according to the Air Force. 183 drones and 17 missiles were shot down or neutralized.
That same night, at the Armavir airfield in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, a Su-27UB combat training fighter was destroyed, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR). It belonged to the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
russian forces launched three attacks during the day in the Southern-Slobozhanske direction, with Defense Forces repelling assaults near Starytsia and Vovchansk, according to the General Staff update at 16:00. Enemy assaults were also reported near Radkivka, Kupiansk, and Zahryzove in the Kupyansk direction, and near Novyi Myr in the Lyman direction.
In Kharkiv region, two Russian assault groups attempted to approach the combat positions of the NGU “Khartia” brigade, using smoke screens as a diversion. One group advanced on motorcycles, the other on foot. Both were destroyed before making contact, said “Khartia” fighter Vovk.
Over the past day, 191 combat engagements were recorded.
In the Southern-Slobozhanske direction, the enemy carried out seven attacks on Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Fyholivka, and toward Kozacha Lopan and Kudiivka.
In the Kupyansk direction, there was one engagement yesterday, where Ukrainian defenders stopped enemy assault actions near Stepova Novoselivka.
Shelling
A russian “Molniya” missile struck the outskirts of Zolochiv at around 10:25. No casualties or destruction were reported, said SVA head Viktor Kovalenko.
Russia attacked a private house in Katerynivka, Velykoburlutska community, with a drone: damage and a fire covering 120 sq. meters occurred. No casualties were reported, according to the State Emergency Service in the region.

During the night attack on Kharkiv on July 26, Russia launched two missile strikes on a district heating plant that serves 53,000 people, according to Kharkiv Heat Networks. Utility workers were on duty inside the plant at the time. Communication with them was temporarily lost but later restored. No injuries were reported.

In the Borivska community, a gas pipeline was damaged as a result of Russian shelling during the night of July 26, according to SVA head Oleksandr Tertyshnyi.
Four rescuers were injured during Russia’s nighttime combined attack on Kharkiv, reported regional SES spokesperson Yevhen Vasylenko. According to him, all firefighters who received medical assistance sustained minor injuries or concussions.

At night, Russia struck the city of Zmiiv with two missiles and 12 drones. An ambulance crew came under a combined Russian attack in Zmiiv, Kharkiv region, on the night of July 26. Despite being wounded, driver Vyacheslav Niemchenko managed to evacuate people who needed medical help after the strike, as well as his colleagues, to a safe distance. Rescuers assisted the medics in escaping from the shelling, according to the Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine.
Three people injured in Zmiiv during the Russian strikes on the night of July 26 are in serious condition in a Kharkiv hospital, said Tetiana Timofieieva, deputy mayor of Zmiiv. According to the regional prosecutor’s office, one of the wounded is a medic.
Over the past day, Kharkiv city and seven settlements in the region came under enemy strikes. According to the Regional Military Administration (OVA), 29 people were injured, including a child.
- In Kharkiv city, 22 people were injured, including a 12-year-old girl;
- In Kupyansk, a 44-year-old man, a 78-year-old woman, and two 41-year-old women were injured;
- In Zmiiv, two 50-year-old men and a 47-year-old man were injured.
Last night, from 00:10 to 03:20, the enemy carried out a massive attack on Kharkiv and the region. The Russians struck Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv with two missiles, four glide bombs (KABs), and 15 drones. As a result, six people were injured, including three SES employees and a medical worker. Rescuers saved six people, including two children. Fires broke out in industrial premises, food warehouses, and a vehicle. The total fire area was about 2,500 square meters.
The enemy actively used various types of weapons across Kharkiv region:

Civilian infrastructure damage:

▪️ In Kharkiv district: 5 private houses, 2 outbuildings, and 2 cars were damaged (village of Bezruky);
▪️ In Kupyansk district: a medical outpatient clinic was damaged (village of Prykolotne);
▪️ In Chuhuiv district: an enterprise (Zmiiv) and a gymnasium (village of Vyrishalnyi) were damaged.
In the Velykoburlutska and Vilkhivatska communities of Kharkiv region, there will be no centralized gas supply during the heating season: Russian shelling damaged the gas pipeline in spring, and it cannot be restored now due to ongoing hostilities, according to the Velykoburlutska community administration.
In Chuhuiv, the roof of an architectural monument of national importance damaged by Russian strikes in July 2022 is being repaired. This is a classicist architecture example — the Trade Rows building, constructed nearly 200 years ago and depicted by Ilya Repin.
The memorial to airborne troops near the village of Kamianka, damaged by a Russian drone, is planned to be restored by August, said Serhii Fedchenko, head of the Izium City Military Administration.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
The russian army launched an offensive on the Siversk sector of the front. Over the past day, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 32 times near Hryhorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Vyiimka, and Fedorivka. This is the highest number of assaults in this sector in 2025, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The occupiers have almost doubled the number of attacks on the Novopavlivka sector, and continue to exert pressure on the Pokrovsk and Lyman directions.
According to the OSUV “Khortytsia” operational command, Russian troops carried out a large-scale mechanized assault toward Siversk, deploying up to 80 units of armored, motor, and automotive equipment.
In the Pokrovsk sector, small arms battles continue daily. In particular, Ukrainian forces repelled Russian infantry attacks on the morning of July 26, said Yuliia Stepaniuk, head of the communications department of the 117th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
Shelling
10 people were injured as a result of Russian shelling in Donetsk region. On July 25, police recorded 3,718 enemy strikes.
Nine settlements came under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, the villages of Drobysheve, Zarichne, and the village of Krasnopillia.
57 civilian objects were damaged, including 53 residential houses.

Kostiantynivka was attacked by artillery and drones — 5 people were injured; damage reported to 2 apartment buildings, 6 private houses, a boiler plant, and a wheat field.
In Druzhkivka, the occupiers launched 2 drones — one civilian was injured, and 43 private houses were damaged.
In Rodynske, 2 people were injured as a result of enemy strikes; an apartment building and an educational facility were damaged.
Russian artillery targeted Myrnohrad, injuring 2 residents.
In Zarichne, a private home was destroyed.
It was reported that civilians were killed and injured in the enemy shelling of Myrnohrad on July 24.

An 18-year-old girl from occupied Mariupol, who had been forced to live with her family in Russia for over three years, has been returned to Ukraine-controlled territory. During this time, she studied remotely at a Ukrainian school and planned her return, according to Presidential Office Head Yermak.
The military personnel of the 15th Separate Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade “Chornyi Lis” have launched a large-scale charity ultramarathon called “UltraUkraine”, crossing the entire country from Drohobych to Donetsk region. Every day, soldiers Serhii Pankevych and Ivan Huliak will run 50 km, with breaks every seventh day. The final point of the run will be the Donetsk region stele. Over 35 days, the servicemen will cover more than 1,500 kilometers to raise 7 million hryvnias to build a sports hall for rehabilitation and recovery of the brigade’s soldiers.
The first personal exhibition of Mariupol native Hanna Kisilishyna — mother of a fallen Azov fighter — opened at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The exhibition is titled “47.82846°N 37.71093°E”, which are the coordinates of barrack #200 in Olenivka colony, where Oleksii Kisilishin died as a result of a terrorist attack by Russian occupiers. This was reported by the National Reserve of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on their Facebook page.

Luhansk oblast
Frontline update:
The day before yesterday, Russian forces launched 27 assault attempts on the Lyman sector of the front. According to the Regional Military Administration (OVA), the enemy attacked near the villages of Hrekivka and Dibrova. The occupiers directed 81 drones and FPV drones at Ukrainian defensive positions and nearby settlements. Artillery fire was conducted 43 times.
Prisoner exchange:
As part of a prisoner exchange, two border guards from the Luhansk detachment, held captive since April 2022, returned to Ukraine.
Healthcare recovery in Luhansk region:
Following relocation, medical facilities in four districts of Luhansk region have resumed work.
Hospitals from the Starobilsk district provide a full range of medical services — from primary care to specialized consultations. In June 2025, they served 3,339 people, and since the beginning of the year have provided over 40,000 services, including rehabilitation for veterans and support for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Twelve medical institutions relocated from the Sievierodonetsk district serve both displaced persons and locals, delivering over 32,000 medical services so far in 2025. Medical facilities in the Shchastia district have resumed operations, having already treated over 2,700 patients.
A mobile medical team from Rubizhne completed 110 visits to shelters, dormitories, and modular settlements, providing primary care.
Community resilience centers in the Svatove area provided 522 individual consultations. Local doctors also work in large Ukrainian cities where displaced persons reside.
The Luhansk Regional Clinical Hospital in Dnipro provided nearly 5,000 outpatient services, treated patients in the day cardiology unit, and performed surgical and dental procedures.
Infrastructure news:
russian authorities in temporarily occupied Luhansk promised to restore the entire water supply and sewage system by 2035. Over 8,000 kilometers of utilities are currently in emergency condition, according to the OVA.
In Sievierodonetsk, which Russia captured just over three years ago but destroyed nearly everything possible, water and electricity outages became regular during summer. These often happen simultaneously, with water supply cut supposedly for electric equipment repairs, or power turned off allegedly for pump station works.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Klemen Boštjančič visited Kyiv region. During the visit, discussions focused on attracting Slovenian business to investment projects in the region, reported Kyiv Regional Military Administration head Mykola Kalashnyk. In Bucha, near the Memorial to Victims of Russian Aggression, Klemen Boštjančič honored the memory of fallen Ukrainians, saw firsthand the scale of war destruction in the village of Moschun, and observed how the community is rebuilding.
Recently, a delegation of foreign diplomatic mission heads to Ukraine visited Borodianka. Guests had the opportunity to see how one of the most affected settlements in the region is being restored, the OVA reported. Since the full-scale invasion began, over 800 objects in Borodianka have been damaged or destroyed, including residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and social infrastructure. Today, nearly 10,000 residents have returned home. Shops are opening, and schools and outpatient clinics are operating.
Currently, Kyiv region has 17 agreements with foreign regions and its communities maintain 133 twin-town relationships with municipalities in 34 countries worldwide. The Kyiv Regional Military Administration actively cooperates with over 70 international organizations.
An intensive 2-month program for veterans, veteran women, and their family members will be held at the Diia.Business Entrepreneur Support Center in Bucha. The program targets those who want to start their own business or scale an existing one. Registration is open for the program starting August 25. The training format is hybrid: lectures will take place offline in Bucha, while mentoring sessions will be held online.
Recently, a working meeting with the UNDP team took place in Vasylkiv to discuss key stages of repair and restoration. Thanks to the support of the UN Development Programme in Ukraine and funding from the Government of Spain, two more educational institutions in Vasylkiv community — Gymnasiums No. 7 and No. 8, damaged during the full-scale invasion — will be restored.
In Kyiv, on the eve of the Day of Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a memorial sign dedicated to combat medics was unveiled. The monument, depicting a snake and a sword, symbolizes the struggle for life and the indomitable spirit of medics. The sign became the sixth on the Alley of Defenders, established by the platform “Cultural Forces.”
Zhytomyr oblast
Seventeen servicemen of the combat unit of the 9th Zhytomyr Border Detachment named after the Sich Riflemen received state awards and departmental honors. The border guards were congratulated upon their return from the combat zone in Donetsk, reported the press officer of the 9th Border Detachment, Yurii Shakhraichuk.
In Zhytomyr region, a special support program for veterans is in place, along with more than 100 local programs providing various social assistance, according to the Regional Military Administration. In 2025, Zhytomyr will receive over 356 million UAH from the state budget, allocated for the purchase of housing for 156 veteran families.
There are 70 specialists working in Zhytomyr who assist veterans and demobilized servicemen. Since the beginning of 2025, they have processed over 5,000 requests and resolved more than 14,000 issues.
State support of over 63 million UAH is allocated for the creation of veteran community spaces in Zhytomyr region.
Sumy oblast
On 26 June, russian forces attacked Sumy by strike drones. One of the drones hit the city center — Independence Square. As a result of the strike, the building of Sumy Regional State Administration was damaged.

On the morning of 26 July, Artem Kobzar, Acting Mayor of Sumy reported three strikes by russian UAVs targeting civilian infrastructure. As a result of the attack, some residents of Sumy and Sumy regions were temporarily left without electricity. According to the City Water Utility, one of the city’s water intakes was de-energized from 10:30 am due to power outages.
Oksana Tarasiuk, Acting Head of Shostka community, informed that following a nighttime enemy attack on Shostka community, the number of injured has risen to six. The russian strikes caused a large-scale fire that engulfed private homes. Rescuers extinguished all fire outbreaks and saved a person who had been trapped in a damaged house.
According to the Regional Military Administration, from midnight until morning, russian forces attacked the territory of Shostka community by drones, guided aerial bombs, and carried out a missile strike. As a result of the combined attack, four private houses caught fire, several apartment buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged. Two women and a man with burns and shrapnel injuries were hospitalized.

During the day, from the morning of 25 July to the morning of 26 July, russian forces carried out over 110 attacks on 42 settlements across 16 territorial communities in the oblast. The highest number of strikes was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (over 30 strikes), dropped VOG grenades from UAVs (over 10 drops), and also launched attacks by FPV-drones, UAVs, and missiles.
As a result of russian strikes on the territory of Sumy oblast:
- In Znob-Novhorodske community, two private houses, a two-storey building, and an educational institution were damaged;
- In Seredyna-Buda community, a private house was damaged;
- In Esman community, private houses were damaged;
- In Hlukhiv community, a civilian infrastructure facility and an administrative building were damaged;
- In Richky community, a private house and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
- In Shostka community, civilian infrastructure was damaged, four apartment buildings were affected, a store building was hit, and four private houses caught fire.
Over the course of the day, 46 people were evacuated from border communities by local authorities in cooperation with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations.
The Regional Military Administration announced that thanks to a government decision, 30 veterans from Sumy oblast have already received financial certificates for purchasing housing. The total amount of compensation is UAH71m.. Communities operate modern support infrastructure: a veterans’ hub, six spaces for meetings and development, and seven rehabilitation departments. A total of 110 specialists are involved in supporting veterans — helping them undergo treatment, recovery, and adaptation to peaceful life.
In Konotop, residents are being trained in first aid skills — from stopping bleeding to cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Trainings for civilians are held monthly and conducted by first aid instructors from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
Chernihiv oblast
The National Police in Chernihiv oblast reported that during the night of 26 July, russian forces attacked Novhorod-Siverskyi community by a strike drone. As a result of the attack, private homes in one of the villages were damaged.
According to Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment, during the day on 25 February, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (27 explosions) and artillery strikes (30 explosions), launched unguided aerial rockets (8 explosions), used FPV-drones (5 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (24 explosions). A total of 11 settlements came under enemy fire. As a result of the strikes on Tymonovychi village in Semenivka community, a non-residential building caught fire.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
The enemy launched a massive attack on the region with missiles and drones, reported Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration head Mykola Lukashuk. Air defense forces reportedly shot down 7 missiles and 26 drones. In Dnipro city, a man was killed and a woman injured. A multi-story building, cars, and enterprises were damaged.
In the Dnipro district, another person died and 4 were injured. A shopping center and a business were damaged. The occupiers also struck the Pokrovska community, followed by attacks on Marganets and later the Synelnykove district. In the Pokrovska community, a fire broke out due to a strike by KAB-guided bombs.
During the day, the enemy struck Nikopol district about ten times with drones and artillery. Targets included the district center and the Pokrovska, Chervonohryhorivka, Myrivka, and Marganets communities.
An artillery shelling in Chervonohryhorivka community killed a 66-year-old man. State and private enterprises, 4 vehicles, a private house, and an outbuilding were damaged. The enemy also attacked Synelnykove district. In the Mezhivska community, a 14-year-old girl, a 49-year-old woman, and a 57-year-old man were injured. A lyceum and a private house were damaged.
Kirovohrad oblast
During the prisoner exchange on July 23, servicemen from Kirovohrad region, Mykola Chornyi and Mykhailo Sokoryov, were released from Russian captivity. They fought as part of the 121st Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The servicemen are currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Poltava oblast
In Kremenchuk, 25-year-old soldier Volodymyr Vaal, call sign “Khatyn,” was laid to rest. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). In 2022, he defended his hometown Mariupol and, after being wounded there, returned to service. At the beginning of July this year, he was killed while carrying out a combat mission.
Cherkasy oblast
In Cherkasy region, defenders shot down two Russian drones, reported Igor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that today, russian forces launched 9 Shahed-type drones towards Zaporizhzhia oblast. Several fires broke out in Zaporizhzhia oblast and a non-residential building was damaged. In Polohy region, a warehouse was damaged and a private house destroyed.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that russian troops attempted to advance near Kamianske in Orikhiv region. In Huliaipole region, no offensive actions were recorded by russian forces.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, stated that on 25 July, the russian army carried out 414 attacks on 19 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Among them, 280 drones (mostly FPV) targeted Zaporizhzhia, Dolynske, Bilenke, Kamianske, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Omelnyk, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Poltavka, Novopavlivka and Malynivka.
Mykolaiv oblast
According to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, on 25 July, the russian military shelled Kutsurub community by artillery. As a result, a school and a boiler house were damaged in Dmytrivka village. There were no injuries reported.
Odesa oblast
Referring to the Ukrainian Navy, as of the morning of 26 July, there are no russian warships detected in the Black Sea or the Sea of Azov.
Kherson oblast
The Prosecutor’s Office reportedrussian forces shelled Bilozirka by artillery. 6 people were wounded, including a 9-year-old boy. Based on the information provided by Kherson RMA, as of 6pm, 7 people had been reported injured due to russian attacks in the oblast.
The russian troops dropped explosives from a drone onto a car in Bilozirka. A 53-year-old man sustained blast and craniocerebral injuries, a concussion, facial, torso, arm and leg shrapnel wounds. He was hospitalised.
The CMA informed that around 12pm, russian forces attacked Antonivka by a drone. A 46-year-old man sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his leg and back. He was taken to the hospital.
The RMA reported that in Kostyrka, an FPV drone targeted a truck delivering goods to a store. The vehicle was damaged. There were no casualties reported.
According to the State Emergency Service, on 25 July, rescuers in Kherson oblast extinguished 9 fires, 5 of which were caused by russian attacks. Fires occurred in a house basement, an outbuilding, a non-residential building and vehicles. The total area of wildfires reached 7ha.
Referring to the RMA, an 83-year-old woman required medical assistance after being injured in a drone attack near Romashkove on 22 July. She was diagnosed with blast trauma, concussion and an acute stress reaction.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, stated that on 25 July, due to russian shelling in Kherson oblast 3 people were killed and 11 injured. 3 high-rise buildings, 7 private houses and several cars were damaged. The russian army attacked 39 settlements in the oblast.

Lviv oblast has launched the National Project Health Ambassadors Hear the Medics. Over 100 participants, led by Hear the Medics mentors and the Youth Council under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, will spread knowledge about a healthy lifestyle throughout Ukraine.

The adaptation event for veterans Sarnenska Zvytyaga was held in Dubrovytsia. Those present had the opportunity to receive a variety of information on socio-legal support for veterans, their employment, business development, training, and rehabilitation.

The pediatric department of Ternopil City Hospital №2 received a solar power plant thanks to partners from Iserlohn, Germany. The power plant on the roof of the department provides up to 60% of its electricity needs, which is especially important for the safety of young patients.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Another patriotic training camp Podilska Sich has completed its work. Over a hundred girls and boys aged 9 to 17 rested and underwent training in military-tactical training and national-patriotic education.

A free master class on the basics of life saving was held in Chernivtsi. Experts explained and demonstrated in practice how to properly stop bleeding, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and provide the victim with a stable position.

The UN said that the number of civilian casualties in Ukraine had reached its highest level in 3 years of war. Miroslav Jencha, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia and the Americas, said that in the 1st half of 2025 there were 6,754 civilians killed and injured. At the same time, June became a record month for the number of casualties. And in July, russia released at least 5,183 long-range munitions, including 728 drones, in just one day – 9 July.
