It has been the 1218 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 25 June, there were 72 combat clashes on the frontline.

Border settlements suffered from artillery shelling from the territory of the russian federation, in particular Medvedivka in Chernihiv oblast; Prohres, Prokhody, Kucherivka, Bila Bereza, Pokrovka, Velyka Pysarivka, Khodyne, Turyia, Novovasylivka, Marine in Sumy oblast; Timofiivka in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there were four out of five enemy attacks repelled by Ukrainian defenders, and the battle is currently underway. The enemy also launched two airstrikes, dropping four KABs, and carried out 81 attacks, including five from multiple launch rocket systems.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy attacked three times near Vovchansk and Lyptsi, Ukrainian soldiers gave a worthy rebuff. The enemy carried out airstrikes with unguided aircraft missiles and GABs on Vodiane, Hraniv, Okhrymivka and Hryhorivka.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops three times in the vicinity of Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Nova Kruhliakivka, one battle is ongoing.

Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked 11 times near the settlements of Hrekivka, Kopanky, Nadiia, Ridkodub, Kolodiazi, Zelena Dolyna and Torske. The defense forces successfully stopped eight enemy attempts to advance, the battles are ongoing.

Towards Siversk, the enemy tried to advance near Verkhnokamianske.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces five times in the vicinity of Stupochky and Bila Hora.

Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked four times near Toretsk, Nelipivka and Oleksandro-Kalynove, and one clash is currently ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers made 31 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their occupied positions in the vicinity of the settlements of Poltavka, Myrne, Kopteva, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Zvirove, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Novomykolaivka, Horikhove and Oleksiivka. The defense forces are holding back the enemy’s onslaught and repelling twenty-six attacks; five clashes are still ongoing. The enemy’s losses are being specified.

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy attacked six times near the settlements of Zaporizhzhia, Vilne Pole and Shevchenko. One clash is still ongoing.

Towards Huliaipole, the enemy once tried to advance near Malynivka.

Towards Orikhiv, the aggressor had one attempt to advance towards Novoandriivka. The settlement of Kamianske was hit by an air strike.

Towards Kherson, the enemy launched an airstrike on Olhivka.

In other areas of the front, the situation did not change significantly.

 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline Update
Over the past 24 hours, 151 combat engagements were recorded.

  • On the Southern Slobozhanskyi axis, the enemy launched eight assaults on our positions near the settlements of Vovchansk and Kamianka. 
  • On the Kupiansk axis, five enemy attacks were repelled near Stepova Novoselivka, Kruhliakivka, Zelenyi Hai, and toward Pishchane and Kurylivka. 

Shelling
Over the past day, the enemy launched strikes on Kharkiv city and five other settlements in Kharkiv region.

As a result of the shelling, nine civilians were injured:

  • In Kharkiv, a 64-year-old man was wounded. 
  • In Kupiansk, the injured include men aged 76, 80, and 50, as well as women aged 42, 68, and two aged 77. 
  • In Vodiane village of the Vilkhuvatka community, a 49-year-old man was injured. 

The enemy attacked Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv with eight UAVs.

Various types of weapons were used across Kharkiv region:

  • 30 unguided air rockets;
  • 5 guided aerial bombs (KABs);
  • 3 Shahed-type UAVs;
  • 8 Geran-2-type UAVs;
  • 1 Lancet-type UAV;
  • 2 Molniya-type UAVs;
  • 2 UAVs (type being identified). 

Damage to civilian infrastructure was reported:

  • In Kharkiv, an apartment building and a utility structure were damaged.
  • In Kupiansk district: an apartment building, two private houses (Kupiansk), and a warehouse (Doroshenkove village).
  • In Chuhuiv district, one building was damaged (Yurchenkove village). 

Other News
In 2025, the region will receive 108.6 million UAH in state budget subsidies to purchase 17 homes for family-type children’s homes (DBST) whose residences were destroyed due to russian armed aggression.

From the Borova area, 16 people were evacuated in the past day. 1,620 residents remain in the community.
From Kupiansk, 10 people were evacuated yesterday, with 1,412 residents currently remaining in the city.

By the end of 2025, it is planned to open 38 more underground schools, including 7 in Kharkiv city.

Donetsk oblast

Shortly after midnight, Russian forces struck Novoyavlenka in the Kramatorsk district with two Geran-2 UAVs. One civilian was killed and another injured. Two private houses and a civilian vehicle were damaged.

Additional attacks were reported in Zoloti Prudy, Novoandriivka, and Novovodyane.
In total, 10 civilian objects were damaged overnight, including 7 private residences.

As a result of massive overnight shelling in Donetsk region, 3 people were killed and 11 injured.

▪️ Over the past 24 hours, the police recorded 3,836 enemy strikes along the frontline and in residential areas.

Russia targeted civilians with 13 bombs and 38 drones. 19 settlements came under fire.
75 civilian objects were damaged, including 51 residential houses.

In Pokrovsk, drone strikes killed one person, injured two, and damaged a vehicle.

In Zoloti Prudy, Oleksandrivka community, the Russians used nine Geran-2 UAVs, killing one civilian and injuring two others. Three private houses and an agricultural enterprise were damaged.

The enemy dropped five KAB-250 bombs on Kostiantynivka, also attacking the city with drones and artillery.
Three civilians were injured, and 38 private houses, an educational institution, a business, and five civilian vehicles were damaged.

In Rodynske, three FPV drones struck – one person was injured, and two apartment buildings were damaged.

In Novyi Donbas (Dobropillia community), one civilian was injured by a drone strike, and a vehicle was damaged.
In Novotroitske (Shakhivska community), a private house was damaged.

In Lyman, occupiers used drones and artillery, injuring a civilian and damaging a household.

In Kramatorsk, six Geran-2 UAVs struck a business enterprise.
In Vesela Hora, a private house and non-residential premises were damaged.

In Druzhkivka, three Geran-2 UAVs hit an administrative building, a business, a workshop, and garages.
In Sofiivka, drone strikes damaged three private homes; in Kindrativka – two more.

In Andriivka-Klevtsove (Volnovakha district), Russian forces dropped two UMPB D-30SN bombs, destroying a cultural center.

Luhansk oblast

On our section of the frontline, the enemy was supported by aviation and artillery. Russian forces launched assaults in the direction of Hrekivka.

In Russian-occupied Luhansk region, Ukrainian-format property documents issued or certified by a notary after September 30, 2022, will no longer be recognized. The relevant Russian law will come into force 90 days after its official publication. By that time, a commission must be established in the so-called “LNR” to deal with this issue. The commission’s mandate will extend until January 1, 2028.

In the “LNR,” forced mobilization will now include individuals even without a Russian passport. This decision was made by the Kremlin.
From now on, the Russian Ministry of Defense will sign contracts with stateless persons and foreign nationals until the end of the mobilization period or until martial law is lifted.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

From the Kyiv community, 1,700 drones were handed over to fighters of two National Guard brigades, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported. In total, since the beginning of 2025, Kyiv has sent over 20,000 UAVs of various types to the front lines.

During the massive Russian attack on Kyiv on June 23, a couple was killed in a five-story building in the Shevchenkivskyi district — their 16-year-old son, a schoolboy, was left orphaned. In a single night, Kyryl lost both his parents and his grandfather.

In Ukraine, Georgian Lieutenant Colonel Vano Nadiradze passed away. He had been fighting as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Special Operations Forces since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. Preliminary reports indicate the cause of death was a heart attack. After a farewell ceremony in Kyiv, Vano Nadiradze’s body will be transported to Georgia and arrive at Tbilisi Airport on June 28.

In the Boryspil district of Kyiv region, a moose calf died during a Russian attack on the night of June 23 at the Wild Animal Rescue Center, animal rights activists reported. According to volunteers, the blast wave was so powerful that it shattered windows in the shelter buildings, and frightened animals injured themselves against the cage bars. The moose calf’s heart could not withstand the shock and stopped.

In the village of Ozera, Bucha district, a child discovered an object resembling an explosive device during a walk. Sappers identified it as a fragmentation grenade. The munition was removed and transported to a demolition site for destruction, the Mobile Rapid Response Rescue Center of the State Emergency Service reported.

The “Synergy of the Active” training camp took place in a tent camp setting from June 19 to 22 in the Kyiv region. Participants included about fifty active and motivated community representatives from the region’s youth: members of military-patriotic clubs, coordinators of “Active Parks” locations, youth workers, volunteers from youth centers and hubs, and proactive young people.

Zhytomyr oblast

In 2025, communities in Zhytomyr oblast have already allocated nearly UAH 629m. to support Ukraine’s Defense Forces, with a total of about UAH 2.5b. planned for the year. These funds are directed toward critical needs, including shelter construction, equipment, transport, drones, and supplies for military units defending Ukraine.

The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine reported that in Zhytomyr oblast, 69 specialists have already been employed to support war veterans and demobilized individuals. Across Ukraine, a total of 1,400 specialists have been hired for this role, with 69 of them working in Zhytomyr oblast.

On 24 June, Zhytomyr Medical Institute hosted the presentation of the online educational program “Veteran’s Wife”, designed to support women whose husbands have defended or continue to defend Ukraine. The program aims to enhance resilience, economic stability, and social empowerment of veterans’ wives, recognizing their key role in reintegrating defenders into community life.

Sumy oblast

The General Staff reported that over the past day, Ukrainian forces repelled five russian attacks towards Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk. Enemy troops launched 10 airstrikes, using 16 guided aerial bombs, and carried out 189 shelling attacks, including five strikes from multiple launch rocket systems

The Regional Military Administration informed that over the past day, from the morning of 24 June to the morning of 25 June, russian forces carried out nearly 90 attacks on 27 settlements across 13 territorial communities in Sumy oblast. The highest number of strikes were recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy heavily used drone-dropped explosive grenades (over 50 strikes) and also launched UAV and missile attacks on the oblast.

According to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office, on 24 June, around midnight, russian forces attacked a street in Verkhnia Syrovatka community of Sumy region by at least eight drones.

The attack resulted in the deaths of: a 5-year-old boy, a 52-year-old man, an 84-year-old woman. Additionally, six people were injured, including two 17-year-old girls and a 12-year-old boy. The strike also caused significant destruction: 7 residential buildings were completely destroyed, 22 houses were damaged, 6 cars were affected.

In Velykyi Bobryk, which was attacked by russian strike drones on the night of 24 June, residents paid tribute to 55-year-old Volodymyr Velitchenko and 85-year-old Tetiana Ivashcheva, who were killed in the attack. The homes they lived in were completely destroyed. Volodymyr worked at the local lyceum, where he was well known in the community.

Over the past day, local authorities, in coordination with units from the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations from border communities, evacuated 71 people.

The Red Cross Society is installing five additional modular shelters in Sumy community. Two of them will be placed in elder councils — in the centers of Bytytskyi and Stetskivskyi, while three will be located in Sumy city.

 

Chernihiv oblast

 

On 24 June, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast — Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, the assaults included:

  • 33 explosions by mortar fire
  • 10 explosions by multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS)
  • 8 explosions by unguided aerial rockets (NAR)
  • 15 explosions by FPV drones
  • 21 explosions by UAV-dropped explosive devices

The attacks targeted the town of Semenivka and 12 other settlements.

The Department of Civil Protection and Defense Work of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that on 24 June, russian forces launched eight unguided aerial rockets from a helicopter at Hremiach village in Novhorod-Siverskyi community. As a result of the strikes, a non-residential building in the village was destroyed.

In 2025, five medical institutions in Chernihiv oblast will provide free dental prosthetics for military personnel. These institutions have signed agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine to offer prosthetic services to specific categories of individuals who defended Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Funding for the program comes from the state budget, as part of a project that began in 2024 and has been extended into 2025.

 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Late in the evening and into the morning, the enemy once again attacked the Nikopol district. Drones targeted the district center. In the evening, the occupiers also struck the Novopavlivka community of the Synelnykove district with guided aerial bombs (KABs), causing a fire. In other communities of the region, the night passed without shelling. According to updated information, yesterday’s attack claimed the lives of 20 people, and around 300 were injured.

A day of mourning has been declared in Dnipro and Samara. On June 24, a missile strike took the lives of 18 people in Dnipro, and two more in Samara.

Throughout the day, the enemy launched nearly a dozen and a half attacks on the Nikopol district. Drones were used, and artillery shelling was carried out. The attacks targeted the district center, as well as the Pokrovska, Myrivska, and Marhanets communities. Two apartment buildings and one private house were damaged.

Kirovohrad oblast

On June 25, a day of mourning was declared in Kropyvnytskyi and Oleksandriia for those killed in the Russian missile strike on Dnipro on June 24. National flags were lowered in the cities, and all entertainment events were canceled, according to Mayor Serhii Kuzmenko.

In the village of Maryanivka, Novoukrainka district, Kirovohrad region, a farewell ceremony was held for 34-year-old serviceman Andrii Lopatiuk, who died after five months of treatment for complications caused by combat injuries.

Poltava oblast

In Lubny, a farewell ceremony will be held for fallen defender Oleksandr Hulak. He served as a gunner in an anti-aircraft missile and artillery battery. Oleksandr was killed on June 13 while covering for a comrade at a combat post.

An exhibition dedicated to the 117th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade has opened at the Kremenchuk Military History Museum. The unit was formed in the city at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and has been actively involved in combat operations ever since.

Cherkasy oblast

In the Khrystynivka area, on June 26, a farewell ceremony will be held for 33-year-old fallen defender Serhii Ubozhenko. His life was cut short as a result of a Russian shelling — the injuries he sustained were incompatible with life.

 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 25 June, the russian army attacked Zaporizhzhia oblast. As a result of the shelling, nearly 900 consumers were left without electricity. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties or injuries.

On 24 June, the occupiers launched 469 strikes on 13 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy carried out 4 missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia. They launched 8 airstrikes on Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Novohryhorivka, Novopavlivka, and Solodke. 300 UAVs of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Kamianske, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Preobrazhenka, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. 5 MLRS attacks hit Prymorske, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodanylivka. 152 artillery strikes targeted Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. There were 23 reports of destruction of homes, vehicles, and infrastructure. Five men were injured due to enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia, Vasylivka, and Polohy regions.

According to the General Staff, as of 16:00 on 25 June, the enemy attempted once to advance on Ukrainian positions near Malynivka towards Huliaipole. The aggressor made one assault attempt near Novoandriivka towards Orikhiv.

It is reported that in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia oblast, particularly in captured Berdiansk, the occupiers plan to completely exclude the Ukrainian language from the school curriculum starting 1 September, 2025.

Mykolaiv oblast

On the night of 25 June, air defense forces destroyed three Shahed 131/136 drones over Mykolaiv oblast.

Yesterday, 24 June, and this morning, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community eleven times with FPV drones. As a result of one of the strikes, the roof of a private house was damaged, and a fire broke out in the village of Dmytrivka.

Also yesterday, the enemy carried out an artillery strike and twice attacked the waters of Ochakiv community with FPV drones. No casualties were reported.

Odesa oblast

On the night of 25 June, the russian armed forces carried out a UAV attack on civilian infrastructure in Izmail region. As a result of the attack, the warehouse facilities of a private enterprise, agricultural equipment, and machinery were damaged in the Vylkove community.

During the night of 25 June, air defense forces in southern Ukraine destroyed 17 strike UAVs of the “Shahed” type and other types of drones. Of these, 14 were downed in Odesa oblast.

As of 6:00 am on 25 June, two enemy ships were stationed in the Mediterranean Sea. Over the past day, three vessels serving russian interests passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea, and another three ships entered the Sea of Azov.

Kherson oblast

The Prosecutor’s Office of  Kherson oblast reported that two people were confirmed killed and five injured. Around 14:00, a 55-year-old man was killed in a drone attack in the village of Chervonyi Maiak. Around 15:20, a 39-year-old employee of a gardening association died from an artillery strike in the village of Sofiivka. Four people were injured by artillery shelling in Dariivka and Antonivka at 8:40 and 11:50; all were hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries. Another man was wounded in Antonivka as a result of a drone-dropped explosive around 14:40.

Around 15:00, russians attacked a man in Kherson with a drone. The 36-year-old local suffered a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to the abdomen and legs.

A man sought medical assistance after being injured in a russian drone attack in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson on 17 June. The 27-year-old sustained a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to the arm.

A resident of Bilozirka turned to the hospital after being injured in a russian shelling on 16 June. The 33-year-old man was diagnosed with a blast injury, concussion, and traumatic brain injury.

Yesterday, the enemy shelled Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Naddniprianske, Sadove, Zelenivka, Pryozerne, Veletenske, Kizomys, Rozlyv, Tomyna Balka, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Oleksandrivka, Mykilske, Poniativka, Tokarivka, Beryslav, Novoberyslav, Tarasa Shevchenka, Tomaryne, Shliakhove, Tiahynka, Odradokamianka, Dudchany, Sablukivka, Respublikanets, Novokairy, Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Havrylivka, Novoraisk, Novovorontsovka, Osokorivka, Kostyrka, Kozatske, Vesele, and the city of Kherson. As a result of these attacks, seven apartment buildings, 22 private houses, a cell tower, gas pipelines, agricultural machinery, and private vehicles were damaged. One person was killed and eight others were injured due to russian aggression.

Police in Kherson oblast evacuated three elderly people from Beryslav and Chervonyi Maiak.

It is reported that the enemy launched three unsuccessful attacks on Defense Forces positions on Prydniprovskyi front over the past day. russian losses over the past day amounted to 45 personnel, 9 artillery systems, 24 units of automotive and armored equipment, 6 electronic warfare systems, 4 UAVs, 4 motorcycles, 2 boats, 1 generator, and 2 communication antennas. Additionally, 14 shelters and dugouts, 1 field ammunition storage buildup, and 1 observation post were destroyed.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council has allocated funds for the installation of an elevator in a military hospital. UAH 2.15m has been allocated for the implementation of the Community Without Barriers program for 2024-2026.

Zakarpattia oblast

Families from Dnipro and Donetsk oblast arrived in the oblast – 13 children and 7 adults. The evacuated families were met at the railway station in Mukachevo. Temporary housing was prepared for them in Berehov.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk community sent FPV drones to the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade.

Lviv oblast

Lviv sent 290 ten-inch FPV drones to the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigades, the 77th Airmobile Brigades, the 3rd Assault Brigades and the 68th Chasseur Brigades thanks to the Birds of Victory charity project.

Mykhailo Zolotukha, musician and Head of Hoverla pop arts studio, together with his colleagues and wards, are organizing performances near Strii Market. They raised UAH 50,000.

In the village of Pchany, Zhydachiv community organized a Youth Charity Evening in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thanks to the active support and concern of people, they managed to raise 26,336 UAH in support of defenders.

Rivne oblast

80 teachers of the Defense of Ukraine from all over the country underwent training in Rivne oblast. It lasted for a week. All participants are supervisors. Upon returning to their oblasts, they will share the knowledge they have gained with their colleagues and will be able to provide them with consultations and other support in the future.

Ternopil oblast

The 419th Separate Battalion of Unmanned Systems received Autel quadcopters from Ternopil community.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi community sent 3 electronic warfare systems and 1 robotic ground drone worth UAH 500,000 to the military.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that starting from 2022, expenditures from the regional budget and budgets of local Bukovina communities of Chernivtsi oblast for the country’s defense over 4 years of full-scale war will amount to over UAH 956.3m.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Nordic foreign ministers at the NATO summit adopted a joint statement. It includes two steps towards a ceasefire in Ukraine. Ministers stressed that a ceasefire can be achieved through two key steps: continuing large-scale military support for Ukraine (over $15bn in 2025) and increasing economic pressure on russia through new sanctions and tariffs agreed across the entire transatlantic space.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian President, met with Donald Trump, US President. They discussed Ukraine’s purchase of American air defense systems.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with leaders of Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Key topics of the talks included increasing military support for Ukraine, primarily strengthening air defense to protect lives, the needs of our soldiers for the formation of the next defense packages, and the development of joint defense production.
