Russian invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders. In return, the Ukrainian Defense Forces thwart enemy plans, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the aggressor.
On 22 December, there were 117 combat clashes.
Border settlements suffered from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian federation. In particular, Khrinivka, Bila Bereza, Vyntorivka, Chuikivka, Bratenytsia were shelled by enemy artillery, and Baranivka has been attacked with MLRS.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy conducted offensive operations in the vicinity of the settlements of Hoptivka, Hlyboke, Vysoka Yaruha, Starytsia, there were five clashes in total, one attack is still ongoing.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy carried out six assault operations near Kucherivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Boguslavka, Zahryzove and Nova Krystynivka. One skirmish is ongoing.

Towards Siversk, the enemy attacked Ukrainian units four times in the vicinity of Bilohorivka, Verkhnokamianske and Viimka. Three attacks are still ongoing.
Towards Kramatorsk, the defense forces repelled two Russian attacks near Chasovye Yar and Stupochoky, and one battle is still ongoing.
Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked four times near the settlements of Toretsk and Druzhba. Two clashes are ongoing.
Towards Pokrovsk, the invaders have made 17 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of Sukha Balka, Promyn, Lysivka, Zelene, Dachenske, Novoukrainka, Pokrovsk, Novovasylivka, Novoielyzavetivka and Novoolenivka. The defense forces are holding back the enemy’s onslaught and repelling 13 attacks, four clashes are still ongoing. The enemy’s losses are being specified.
Towards Kurakhove, the aggressor attacked nine times near the settlements of Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Kurakhove and Dachne. Four clashes were completed, five more are ongoing.
Towards Vremivka, the invaders attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops 23 times near Novosilka, Konstantynopol, Yantarne, Uspenivka, Rozlyv, Rozdolne, Novosilka, Blahodatne, and Vremivka, seven clashes are still ongoing.
Towards Orikhiv, the enemy attacked near Novoandriivka.
Towards Kherson, our troops repelled one enemy attack, the enemy was unsuccessful.
In the operational zone in Kursk oblast, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 10 attacks by russian invaders during the day, 11 more attacks are ongoing. The enemy carried out about 300 attacks.
In other directions of the front, the situation did not undergo significant changes.
The Center of National Resistance reports that russia is creating new propaganda centers in the occupied territories. The exhibition serves as a propaganda center that manipulates reality and is designed to create the impression that the Russian Federation is an advanced state.
Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk defeated Briton Tyson Fury in the heavyweight division. He defended his WBA, WBO and WBC championship belts after defeating the Briton in the first fight. Ukraine WOW reports thatOleksandr Usyk, after his historic victory against Tyson Fury, raised the saber of Hetman Ivan Mazepa in the ring. The unique 17th-century saber was delivered to Saudi Arabia under the strict supervision of museum specialists. Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that towards Vremivka, the russian army carried out the largest number of attacks of the previous day, December 21. The occupiers stormed Ukrainian positions 47 times near Blahodatne, Novoselivka, Konstantinopolske, towards Odradne and Rozlyv.
The Khortytsia Special Operations Command reported that towards Vremivka, Ukrainian military destroyed two Russian tanks and five armored vehicles. russian troops attacked near Makarivka, also towards Storozheve, Konstantynopol, Neskuchne and Maksymivka.
Towards Pokrovsk, the occupation troops attacked 29 times near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Vidrodzhennia, Dachenske.
Another 20 assaults were repelled by Ukrainian troops towards Lyman near Zelenyi Hai, Terny, and Ivanivka.
Near Kurakhove, the Defense Forces stopped russian assaults on the city 15 times, as well as near Sukhi Terny and Dachne.
Kharkiv oblast
The occupiers struck the civilian population of the city of Kupiansk with an enemy drone with ammunition. A 56-year-old civilian man walking down the street received injuries to his limbs. The injuries led to amputation. Law enforcement officers are working at the scene and are recording another terrorist act by the occupiers.
Oleg Syniehubov, head of the RMA, says that at 09:38, the russian army attacked Kupiansk region, the village of Senkove. As a result of the shelling, a private house burned. No casualties.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian units near Kozacha Lopan, Vysoka Yaruha and Vovchansk six times without success.
Towards Kupiansk, the aggressor carried out offensive actions near Petropavlivka and Kruhliakivka. Ukrainian defenders stopped two enemy attacks. Two more clashes are ongoing.
As a result of intensified evacuation measures from Kupiansk and Borova directions, 5 people were evacuated.
For nine months, a social bus transported 8,000 people in the front-line Zolochiv community in the north of Kharkiv oblast. Shops and pharmacies are destroyed in the villages there, and public transport has not been running since the start of the full-scale war. The bus runs to the community center twice a week and serves 6 routes.
Donetsk oblast
The brigade’s chief officer Ivan Sekach says that russian soldiers shot four servicemen of the 110th Motorized Rifle Brigade towards Vremivka . There were six Ukrainian soldiers at the position where the crime occurred, two of whom died from shelling. The four soldiers who survived surrendered, but the russian military shot them.
Anastasia Bobovnikova, Spokeswoman for Luhansk RMA, says that Towards Kramatorsk and Toretsk, the russian military is preparing and will soon begin active combat operations. Towards Siversk, russian units have recently been actively storming the Ukrainian defense line, but now the assaults have almost stopped.
Fighters of the Dovbush Hornet strike drone company of the 68th brigade have destroyed more than seven thousand russian soldiers towards Pokrovsk since they began working in this direction, – said the company commander under the pseudonym “Fluty”. According to the military, the Defense Forces managed to stabilize the contact line near Pokrovsk.
Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office reported that russian troops dropped aerial bombs on Kostiantynivka, damaging multi-story and private houses, as well as administrative buildings.
The military installed a Christmas tree made of reinforcement at the entrance to Donetsk oblast. It was decorated. The installation took two days, the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade reported.
Operational situation in the region as of the morning of December 22:
Pokrovsk region. In Pokrovsk, a person was injured, 9 private houses, 3 apartment buildings, and 3 industrial buildings were damaged. One person died in Udachne.
Kramatorsk region. In Lyman, 3 houses were damaged. In Kostiantynivka, 13 houses and 9 cars were damaged.

In total, russians shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 21 times during the day. 612 people were evacuated from the front line, including 21 children.
Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk RMA, says that russians have killed 1 resident of Donetsk oblast – in Udachne. Another person was wounded over the past 24 hours.
Luhansk oblast
Luhansk RMA reported that the enemy is actively using aviation and unmanned systems in Luhansk oblast. It struck Nadiia with unguided air missiles and directed 153 UAVs towards Ukrainian fortifications and frontline villages, which is again more than in previous days. There were 15 attacks with cannon artillery. The invaders’ attacks were repelled from Belohorivka, Nadiia and Hrekivka.
Russia owes almost half a billion, namely 471 million rubles, to the employees of the enterprises “Anthracite”, “Skidvugol”, “Tsentrugulya” and “Skidvugoliya”, as well as to tax collectors. The wage arrears have arisen since June 2015. All economic entities, so to speak, are in the “state” property of the so-called “lpr”, but not paying bills is in their blood. After 9.5 years of waiting for funds and the inability to issue a pension, they decided to turn to the russians for a subsidy. Multimillion-dollar debts remain with miners from other enterprises in the occupied Luhansk region. Residents of Siverskodonetsk used to actively travel 15 km to Smolianinove and from there they could make the necessary call.
Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk RMA, informs that in occupied Starobilsk, apartments and houses whose owners did not leave anywhere are being added to the list of ownerless real estate.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the RMA, reported that two multi-storey buildings and a car were damaged as a result of an enemy attack on Kyiv oblast. This attack lasted almost all night. There were no casualties among the population.
The State Emergency Service reported that a 25-storey residential building in Brovary city ignited at night due to a UAV attack. The wreckage of the downed enemy target fell to the roof, causing a fire in the lift shaft. Rescuers evacuated the building’s residents and unblocked the residents of one of the apartments. The fire was extinguished over an area of 30 square metres.
In Kyiv oblast, SES sappers seized an enemy drone. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on 21 December, the UAV did not have a warhead and did not pose a threat to residents.
The National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine has officially opened a Rehabilitation Centre built to European standards. The medical space with unique equipment for Ukraine will provide rehabilitation, recovery and diagnostic services to the military free of charge. The Rehabilitation Centre received the equipment as part of the ‘HEAL Ukraine’ project, a joint project of the World Bank and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications has unveiled a plan to restore St Nicholas Church, which was damaged by a russian missile attack on Kyiv on 20 December. The unique stained glass windows will be restored based on authentic drawings. The restorers are currently focused on implementing priority measures to preserve the cultural heritage site.
The RMA reported that a family-type orphanage from Donetsk Oblast has received a new home in Vasylkiv. The house for the Tarusin family was purchased at the expense of a subvention from the state budget.The large family settled in Kyiv oblast after being forced to evacuate from Donetsk oblast due to constant shelling by the russian aggressor.
On 20 December, a joint meeting of the Interagency Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict and the UN Task Force on Monitoring and Reporting was held in Kyiv to discuss gross violations of children’s rights in the context of full-scale russian aggression. The event was held within the framework of the initiative of the President of Ukraine Bring Kids Back UA and the CAAC (Children and Armed Conflict) mechanism in Ukraine.
The KCMA reported that this week, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve hosted a ceremony of presenting sweet gifts and Christmas trees to the children of fallen defenders.The green beauties were donated by farmers from Lithuania.
Kyiv City State Administration reported that the rescued servals have completed a long way of treatment, rehabilitation and socialisation in Kyiv Zoo. Last year, four animals were taken by animal activists away from the shelled area in Donetsk oblast and brought to the Kyiv Zoo. The animals were in a terrible condition: sick, emaciated and under severe stress. Now spotted Osiris, Sekhmet, Horus and Isis have settled down in their new comfortable homes.
Zhytomyr oblast
At night, Zhytomyr oblast was attacked with Shaheeds. In the morning, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that air defense shot down some UAVs. Some property was damaged. There were no reports of casualties.
On December 21, the action “Unknownness and captivity kill!” took place in Zhytomyr, which brought together more than a hundred people to draw attention to the problem of prisoners of war and missing persons. Participants expressed their support for the families of missing soldiers with posters, performances and a march.
Sergeant of the 95th brigade Andriy Linychuk, who became a full cavalier of the Order “For Courage” and went down in history as the most productive anti-aircraft gunner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was posthumously awarded the title “Honorary Citizen of the City of Zhytomyr”. The corresponding decision was supported at the session by deputies of Zhytomyr City Council.
Sumy oblast
Valentyna Nazarenko, Head of Romny Region Military Administration, reported that during the night of 22 December, russian forces struck civilian infrastructure in Romny community of Sumy oblast. The attack caused damage to eight buildings in Romny community, leaving 110 consumers without electricity.
During night and morning, russians carried out 4 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 23 explosions. The attacks targeted Myropilia, Romen, and Duboviazivka communities.
On 21 Desember, russians carried out 42 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 93 explosions. The attacks targeted Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Hlukhiv, Esman, Shalyhyne, and Znob-Novhorod communities.
Esman community: russians dropped 3 mines on the territory of the community. There were also artillery attacks (25 explosions), a strike by an FPV-drone (1 explosion), and the dropping of explosives from a UAV (1 explosion).
Krasnopillia community: the enemy fired by mortars (14 explosions), MLRS (3 explosions), dropped explosives from a UAV (7 explosions).
Velyka Pysarivka community: artillery attacks (1 explosion), mortar attacks (8 explosions).
Bilopillia community: explosives dropped from a UAV (3 explosions), mortar attacks (7 explosions).
Shalyhyne community: an attack by FPV-drones (4 explosions).
Hlukhiv community: an attack by FPV-drones (4 explosions).
Yunakivka community: FPV-drone strikes (5 explosions).

Chernihiv oblast
The North Operational Command reported that during the night of 22 December, debris from a russian Shahed drone fell in the town of Mena, Chernihiv oblast.
As a result of the attack, an administrative building was damaged. According to preliminary information, no injuries were reported from the falling debris.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, said that in the evening and at night, the occupiers shelled Nikopol region with heavy artillery. They were targeting Marhanets and Pokrovsk communities.
During the day, on 22 December, the enemy fired about a dozen times at Nikopol region. The occupiers attacked with artillery and kamikaze drones. They targeted the district centre, Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka communities. A 35-year-old man was injured in the shelling in Nikopol. He received all the necessary medical care. A religious institution, a private house, an outbuilding and a gas pipeline were damaged.
Vinnytsia oblast
Between 16 and 22 December, it became known that 22 defenders from Vinnytsia oblast were killed.
Kirovohrad oblast
In Kropyvnytskyi, a weekly rally was held in support of captured and missing soldiers. Participants gathered on Maidan Heroes Square.
Poltava oblast

Cherkasy oblast

Zaporizhzhia oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in Orikhiv direction on 21 December, russian forces attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces 7 times. The russians are also conducting reconnaissance, training future assault groups and replenishing supplies.
As reported by the RMA, on 21 December, the russian military carried out 349 strikes on 11 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. There were no casualties reported. Among the attacks were 167 UAVs of various modifications targeting Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Malynivka, Olhivske and Novodarivka.
Mykolaiv oblast
According to the RMA, on the night of 22 December, air defence forces in Mykolaiv oblast destroyed 10 Shahed-131/136 drones.
Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv RMA, reported that on 21 December, russian forces shelled Kutsurub community and the waters of Ochakiv community by artillery. There were no casualties or injuries reported.
Odesa oblast
Referring to the Ukrainian Navy, as of 8am on 22 December, 3 russian ships were present in the Black Sea. None of them were carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles.
Kherson oblast
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, around 11:50am, russian forces dropped an explosive device from a UAV in Beryslav, killing a man.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, informed that during the nighttime drone attack, Ukrainian air defence forces shot down a russian Shahed-131/136 UAV over Kherson oblast.
As a result of russian shelling in Kherson oblast on 21 December, 1 person was killed and 6 injured, including a child. russian forces attacked 30 settlements and launched a ballistic missile strike on Kherson oblast. The attacks damaged 22 private houses, a utility building, a garage and vehicles.
Also, a woman was killed in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson during a russian attack. Her body was found under the rubble of a house struck by an FPV drone.

On the eve of Christmas, students of the Maliatko Turkiv school together with employees of the kindergarten organized a Christmas carol and thanks to it, they raised UAH 11,650. The fund will be donated to the Three Drones public organization for the production of FPV drones.
Lviv oblast
Senior Lieutenant Myroslav Zbyshko, gunner in the 79th Tavri Airborne Assault Brigade from Lviv oblast, was awarded the III degree Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Order.
Rivne oblast
A corner of mental health was opened in Rivne RMA. It was placed in the hall near the central entrance. A corner was set up with literature and other informational material prepared within the How are you? All-Ukrainian mental health program. RMA’s employees and visitors will be able to use the location.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil City Council reported that a memorial plaque to Hero of Ukraine Andriy Olekshii was opened in the city.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
98 military personnel of Khmelnytskyi community will receive funds for rehabilitation. The total amount of assistance is UAH 1.5m.
Chernivtsi oblast
Representatives of the AWO Landesverband Sachsen and Stützpunkt Ukraine e.V. CF visited Chernivtsi. At the meeting in the city council, special attention was paid to humanitarian aid for privileged categories of the population of our city.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
This year, Lithuania will invest €10m in the production of Ukrainian weapons. This is the 1st tranche of Lithuania, which will be allocated for the implementation of the Danish initiative.
Poland sent 3 Mi-8 and Bell 412HP helicopters to Ukraine. They will be used in the training of pilots and personnel at Kremenchuh Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. This college is one of the leading aviation educational institutions in Ukraine.
The Czech Republic extended temporary protection for refugees from Ukraine. However, refugees must complete electronic registration by mid-March 2025 so that the authorities know how many asylum seekers remain in the country.
Starmer, British Prime Minister, called on the leaders of the G7 countries to increase the pressure on the economy of the russian federation with the help of new sanctions.
