While emergency responders were dealing with the aftermath of the strike, Russian forces launched a second drone attack targeting the area where rescue operations were underway.

On June 20, a series of Russian drone attacks was recorded in Bohodukhiv District. According to District Military Administration Head Anatolii Rystsov, residential buildings, energy infrastructure facilities, power lines, and road surfaces were damaged in Bohodukhiv, Hubarivka, Klenove, and Sukhyny. One person was reported injured.

The Russian army carried out four guided aerial bomb strikes on the village of Odnorobivka in the Zolochiv community. According to community head Viktor Kovalenko, a two-story apartment building and the premises of an agricultural enterprise were destroyed. A residential house, an outpatient clinic, a cultural center, and an administrative building were also damaged. The village is currently without electricity, gas, and water supply.

Attacks and Casualties

During the night of June 20, Russian forces struck Kharkiv with three guided aerial bombs. One of the bombs was intercepted, while two reached the city. One of them hit a two-story residential building in the Kholodnohirskyi district. Emergency responders rescued eight people trapped under the rubble.

As a result of the strike, a 76-year-old man was killed. His daughter-in-law, Olena Tsybulnyk, cleared debris with her own hands in an attempt to save her husband and daughter. Both were hospitalized.

Over the past day, Russian attacks targeted Kharkiv and 11 settlements across the region.

Two people were killed and 13 others injured, including four children.

Russian forces attacked the Kyivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts of Kharkiv using drones and guided aerial bombs.

During the past 24 hours, Russian forces used the following weapons against Kharkiv Oblast:

After several weeks of reduced activity, Russian forces have intensified operations in the Pokrovsk direction. According to Volodymyr Cherniak, an officer of the National Guard of Ukraine’s “Rubizh” Brigade, Russian troops have brought in reserves and are deploying better-trained infantry. Instead of relying primarily on drones, they are increasingly using infiltration tactics with small groups, taking advantage of dense summer vegetation.

Russian forces are also attempting to disrupt Ukrainian logistics in the Kostiantynivka direction. According to Bohdan Alman, Acting Chief of Staff of the 19th Corps, Russian troops are carrying out airstrikes on bridge crossings and narrow sections of roads, particularly to complicate the evacuation of wounded soldiers.

At the same time, Ukrainian aviation struck concentrations of Russian troops, including units of the 10th Tank Regiment and the 1465th Motor Rifle Regiment.

During the night of June 20, Ukrainian forces conducted a series of precision strikes against Russian targets in temporarily occupied territories, according to Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi (“Madyar”). A fuel tanker, a BAZ-6403 heavy tractor vehicle, and several pieces of Russian logistical equipment were destroyed.

Ukrainian servicemembers also released new aerial footage from temporarily occupied Donetsk. Reconnaissance drone operators of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade conducted flights over the city center, the area around Donbas Arena, and the territory of Donetsk Airport, which is currently used by Russian forces. According to the military, such flights demonstrate vulnerabilities in Russia’s air defense system.

Other Developments

The Port of Mariupol has effectively ceased operations following a series of Ukrainian strikes, according to Petro Andriushchenko, Head of the Center for the Study of Occupation. Damage to electrical substations left the port without power, while the destruction of railway infrastructure disrupted logistics. According to Andriushchenko, port personnel have been placed on forced leave, and the facility is increasingly being used as a military base for storing equipment, ammunition, and fuel. Some of these storage facilities have already been struck by Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

Luhansk oblast

In Luhansk Oblast, Russian armored vehicles, including a Typhoon-K armored vehicle, as well as logistical transport assets, were destroyed. The operation was conducted by pilots of the K-2 Unit of the 20th Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

Russian troops continue shelling the positions of Ukrainian defenders in Luhansk Oblast. Over the past day, Russian forces used 15 drones, launched three mortar attacks, twice employed automatic grenade launchers, and carried out artillery strikes.

Occupation

Despite state support measures, the occupation authorities have failed to overcome the staffing crisis in the education sector. Teachers who left the region have not returned, while some of those who remained refuse to work under Russian educational programs. Vacancies remain open in nearly every school.

Attempts to recruit teachers from regions of the Russian Federation have also proven largely ineffective. Only three teachers have agreed to relocate before the start of the new academic year.

In Rubizhne, the occupation administration is preparing another wave of so-called “nationalization” of residential property. This time, 51 apartments in three multi-story buildings are targeted. Formally, property owners have been given 30 days to confirm their ownership rights, but in practice the process of confiscating the housing has already begun.

According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the city remains largely deserted, and most local residents are not returning to the occupied settlement.
