War in Ukraine today: latest news, 19 June, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 847th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:   

On 19 June, the enemy increased the pace of offensive and assault operations, looking for ways to penetrate Ukrainian defences and try to dislodge Ukrainian units from the occupied lines. Ukrainian defenders are giving a worthy rebuff to the occupiers, destroying personnel and equipment.

The number of combat clashes along the entire front line has increased to 95. 

Towards Kharkiv, the invaders attacked four times during the day without success in the vicinity of Vovchansk and Lyptsi. In the afternoon, russian terrorists launched an insidious attack with four KABs on the civilian infrastructure of Kharkiv and its suburbs.  

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 10 assaults by the occupying forces near Synkivka, Novoselivka and Stelmakhivka. Currently, two more clashes are ongoing there. The occupying forces struck Novoosynove with four guided aerial bombs, the settlements of Kivsharivka with two bombs, and the village of Prystin with one.

Towards Lyman, the enemy also attacked 10 times in the vicinity of Terny, Makiivka and Hrekivka. One battle is still ongoing. Enemy aircraft struck the village of Hryhorivka with two KABs. According to preliminary information, the enemy’s losses in this direction amounted to 88 occupiers, two armoured personnel carriers, 75 UAVs and two cars. 

Towards Siversk, near Verkhnokamianske and Rozdolivka, the aggressor stormed the positions of the Defense Forces six times. Ukrainian soldiers repelled two attacks, and four more are ongoing. The situation is tense. 

Towards Kramatorsk, the number of enemy attacks increased to 17.  The enemy is looking for ways to penetrate Ukrainian defences in the vicinity of Ivanivske, Nove, Kalynivka, Pivnichne, Andriivka and Bohdanivka.  The defence forces are repelling the occupiers, 13 assaults have been repelled, and four more are ongoing. According to preliminary information, the enemy’s losses in this area amounted to 128 occupiers, eight armoured personnel carriers and five cars.

Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers do not slow down the pace of the offensive.  The enemy attacked the defensive lines of Ukrainian defenders 36 times.  30 assaults of the aggressor were unsuccessful, six more enemy attacks are ongoing.

Towards Kurakhove, there were 10 combat clashes.  Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks by the aggressor’s troops, and four more continue. Kostiantynivka was hit by KABs.

In other areas, the situation has not changed significantly.


The Main Directorate of Intelligence identified the russian military who executed Ukrainian prisoners of war near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast in May this year. Ukrainians surrendered with their hands raised and unarmed, but the russians forced them to lie down on their faces and shot them at point-blank range. The military of the 70th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division (military unit 71718) was probably involved in the war crime: Yuriy Abayev, Dmitry Nagorny, Temirlan Abutalimov, Zaur Bekov and Yusup Imagazaliyev. These soldiers may also be involved in the killing of several more Ukrainian prisoners of war later in May 2024.

Ukraine has launched an e-Map of services for war veterans. It enables finding services offered by the state, as well as non-governmental and international organisations, to veterans, their families and families of fallen defenders. Psychological support, medical programs, patriotic education, art and everything necessary for the development of veteran associations and business initiatives of veterans are available.

The entire population left 28 border settlements of Sumy oblast. The management of these and other settlements in the 5-km zone is carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the RMA, evacuation announced last year is still ongoing. Forced evacuation of families with children has been announced in some settlements. Since the beginning of the year, 51 people were killed in the oblast due to constant shelling by the occupiers. Another 162 people were injured, including 13 children.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff, russian troops attacked Vovchansk by four multiple rocket launchers, Borshchova by two, and Ternova by six unguided missiles as of 4pm. Towards Kupiansk, Petropavlivka was hit by four anti-aircraft gunships, Kupiansk was hit by another bomb, and Synkivka was hit by 16 unguided missiles. According to the General Staff, four combat engagements are ongoing near Novoselivka, Synkivka and Kruhliakivka, and the same number of attacks have been repelled by the defenders.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that there is an increase in the number of enemy attacks towards Borova. The enemy is destroying civilian infrastructure, striking at logistics facilities, and trying to find weaknesses in our defence.

Currently, a total of 580 children live in Borova community. The possibility of forcible evacuation of 33 children from 5 settlements in the “orange zone” is being considered: Zahryzove, Bohuslavka, Shiikivka, Maliivka, Nova Kruhliakivka.

Oleksandr Borodin, Spokesman of the 3rd Assault Brigade, reported that at present, russians have everything they need for offensive actions near Borova towards Kupiansk sector. Oleh Syniehubov, Heaf of the RMA, added that planned work is ongoing to build up the fortifications within the regional administration’s jurisdiction.

The invaders launched three multiple rocket launchers in Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. Two hit the ground on the territory of a children’s camp and one near a residential building, causing damage. Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that according to the updated information, one woman was injured as a result of the double hits of the KABs. Doctors are already treating her.

According to Kharkiv regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 39-year-old employee of a children’s camp in Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv was injured and a 47-year-old employee of a children’s camp in Shevchenkivskyi district of the city suffered an acute stress reaction.

Around 3:36pm, a 49-year-old woman was killed and a 60-year-old man injured in the shelling of Vilkhivka village, Kharkiv region.

A 51-year-old woman was injured, a 73-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man sustained contusions in the shelling of Novooosynove village of Kurylivka community, Kupiansk region.

The State Border Guard Service said that near Vovchansk, the Stalevyi Kordon (Steel Border) fighters shot down a russian drone with the starting positions of the russians on its memory card.

Yesterday at 8:30pm, a 7-year-old boy picked up an explosive device (preliminary Butterfly mine) while walking in Rodychi village, Kharkiv region, which detonated and caused injuries. He was hospitalised.

Yesterday at 5:30pm, Bilyi Kolodiaz village of Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, was hit. A private house was damaged as a result of a UAV strike.

Yesterday at 3:24pm, Slatyne village of Derhachi community, Kharkiv region was shelled. The shelling damaged 11 residential buildings and injured a woman.

At 10am, Symynivka village of Vovchansk community, Chuhuiv region, was shelled. The shelling damaged the post office building, a club, a shop and the building of the starosta district.

At 8:45am, the invaders attacked Kurylivka village of Kurylivka community, Kupiansk region. As a result of the shelling, a man was injured and hospitalised.

Towards Kharkiv, there were six combat engagements today. Our troops repelled four russian attacks near Vovchansk. Repelling two more enemy assaults near Vovchansk and Lyptsi continues.

Towards Lupiansk, the number of combat engagements increased to 12. Our troops repelled eight enemy attacks near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Pishchane, and four more combat engagements

are ongoing.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 9.73 hectares of mines and destroyed 454 explosive devices.

Donetsk oblast

General Andrii Kostin reported that the identity of the Ukrainian serviceman beheaded by russian invaders in Donetsk oblast has been identified.

The russian commanders potentially responsible for the beheading were also identified.

Oleh Kalashnikov, Head of the press service of the 26th artillery brigade, informed that the russian army is regrouping units in Kramatorsk axis near Chasiv Yar. According to him, Chasiv Yar is under pressure from the south: Klishchiivka and Andriivka are targeted. From the other flank, Novyi neighbourhood, the Defence Forces are repelling attacks on the outskirts of the city.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, the National Guard destroyed an enemy infantry fighting vehicle and an assault group of 10 invaders.

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of the regional Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed that on 19 June, russian troops shelled Toretsk, Rozkishne and Zalizne. As a result, a man was killed and two women injured. Private houses, a car and power lines were damaged in the settlements.

Volodymyr Rybalkin, Head of Sviatohirsk Military Administration, said that the alley in memory of the fallen soldiers was opened on 19 June in Sviatohirsk. There are photos of the community residents who defended the country and were killed in the war.

The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 19 June is as follows:

Pokrovsk region. Kurakhove community suffered 4 attacks: 1 person was killed and 1 injured, 6 private houses damaged in Kurakhivka; a house in Hirnyk and a house in Hostre were damaged.

Kramatorsk region. A person was injured in Zarichne of Lyman community.

Bakhmut region. A person was injured, 9 private houses, an apartment building and an industrial building were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. In Toretsk community, 21 houses were damaged: 12 in Druzhba, 4 in Shcherbynivka, 3 in Pivnichne, 1 in Zalizne and 1 in Toretsk. Another house was damaged in Siversk.

In total, russians shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 12 times over the day. 86 people, including 25 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday russians killed one civilian in Kurakhivka. Three more people were injured in the oblast.

Luhansk oblast

Russians attacked 25 times towards Kupiansk and Lyman yesterday. They tried to push Ukrainian defenders out near Hrekivka, Makiivka and Serebrianka forest. The enemy did not succeed. However, the enemy does not stop shelling frontline villages. Thus, Nevske was attacked by rocket launchers, cannon artillery and mortars. Kuzemivka and Stelmakhivka were under artillery and mortar attack. Makiivka was hit by mortars.

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, in the new school year, schools in the so-called “lpr” are going to introduce a new subject – “Family studies”. According to the invaders, it is supposed to form traditional “family values” in young people as per russian propaganda.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk RMA, reported that you can get to the occupied Lysychansk if you have a local registration. Otherwise, you should contact the local commandant’s office.

In June, 12 boys and girls visited the Edelweiss children’s out-of-town facility in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast as part of the 2024 Children’s Health and Recreation Programme of Svatove City Territorial Community. They had meaningful leisure time, interesting excursions and entertainment events.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to the press service of Boiarka Local Government, the Centre for Support and Protection of Veterans, Persons with Disabilities and IDPs has launched a free training programme “Dreams Without Borders” in Kyiv, which will run from 5-8 July. The programme is targeted at disabled or unemployable war veterans and their families and is aimed at personal and career development of the participants.

Irpin City Council informed that an exhibition of free residential building designs reconstruction has been opened in Irpin City Public Library named after M. Rylskyi. People whose homes were destroyed as a result of russian aggression can choose a ready-made construction project with all the necessary calculations. 

Bucha City Council reported about sending 5 Motorola r7 FKP premium portable radios to the soldiers of the 4th Rubizh Operational Brigade. The equipment was purchased at the expense of the local budget and is aimed at improving communication and coordination of actions on combat missions.

According to Hostomel Military Police report, inspectors of the Municipal Guard in Hostomel found an unexploded  munition in a cemetery. The rescuers seized the item and handed it over to the appropriate agency.

Pereiaslav City Council announced building a radiation shelter in Pereiaslav gymnasium №5. The construction is being funded by the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression at the request of the Regional Development Department of Kyiv Regional Military Administration. According to calculations, there are 18 simple and 8 radiation shelters in the city, and 2,361 more people need access to shelters.

Zhytomyr oblast

On 18 June, Adam Zawadzki, a Polish journalist and volunteer, brought another batch of humanitarian aid to Zhytomyr: tactical first aid kits, tourniquets, bandages and other supplies for the military. In addition, he delivered children’s toys and provided animal food to the ZOO Dozor organisation for feeding stray animals. He has already visited Ukraine’s cities 16 times including locations near the frontline.

Thirty children are being taught to fly drones at an out-of-school facility in Zhytomyr. This is part of the Defence of Ukraine programme, which received funding from the city budget to purchase quadcopters and the necessary equipment for training.

Olevsk City Council reported that the resident of Zhytomyr oblast, Myronchuk Oleh Vitaliiovych, was killed by russians while performing the state defence tasks near Novooleksandrivka, Donetsk oblast. 

On 17 June, a funeral service for 24-year-old soldier Maksym Kotenko was held at St Sophia’s Church in Zhytomyr. He was killed by russians on 8 June 2024 while performing a combat mission.

The press service of Zhytomyr City Council also informed that on 17 June, 23-year-old Anton Yakubenko received the final commemoration. He was killed by russians on 12 June 2024.

Sumy oblast

According to the RMA, at night and in the morning of 19 June, russians attacked the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast 10 times. 33 explosions were recorded. Mykolaivka, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Seredyna-Buda communities were shelled.  

  • Velyka Pysarivka community: an explosive ordnance was dropped from a UAV (1 explosion); 
  • Yunakivka community: 8 mines were dropped by russians on the community area. There was also an attack by an FPV drone (1 explosion); 
  • Bilopillia community: an explosive ordnance was dropped from a UAV (2 explosions) and artillery shelling (4 explosions);
  • Seredyna-Buda community: the enemy fired from mortars (4 explosions) and grenade launchers (12 explosions);
  • Mykolaivka community: an attack by an FPV drone (1 explosion).

On 18 June, russians attacked the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast 18 times. 63 explosions were recorded. 

According to the statement on the IOM website, the International Organisation for Migration, with the support of the European Union, has launched a voucher programme for urgent repairs to housing damaged by shelling. The programme will run until August 2024 and aims to help people quickly repair homes affected by the attacks. Ukrainians, including ones living in Sumy oblast, can join the programme.

The North command centre reported that over the past day, two private houses in Mohrytsia and Zapsillia were damaged by russian shelling in Sumy oblast.

Due to shelling from the territory of russia, 295 residents in two settlements in Sumy oblast were cut off from electricity supply. 

The Ministry of Energy informed that in total, 3,975 residential locations in 72 settlements remain disconnected due to hostilities.

40 heroes from Sumy oblast have been posthumously awarded state honours. Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, presented state awards – Orders for Courage, III class – to the families of the fallen soldiers. 

Chernihiv oblast

Halyna Shekhovtsova, Spokeswoman of Chernihiv border guard detachment, reported that during the day on 18 June, the russian army attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk. They fired from mortars and cannon artillery. In total, border guards recorded 31 explosions. Novhorod-Siverskyi community – nine hits, probably from a 120mm mortar, in the direction of Mykhalchyna Sloboda village. Semenivka community – eight hits, allegedly from cannon artillery, in the direction of Bleshnya village; six hits, allegedly from a 120mm mortar, in the direction of Leonivka village; four hits, allegedly from a 120mm mortar, in the direction of Yanzhulivka village. Snovsk community – four hits, probably from a 120mm mortar, in the direction of the village of Kliusy.

The RMA reported that this morning, russians attacked Semenivka community in Novhorod-Siverskyi region, dropping an explosive device on a residential building.  The 55-year-old owner of the house suffered shrapnel wounds to his legs and was taken to hospital. 

In Chernihiv oblast, the funerals of defenders Viktor Kolos and Hennadii Alieksieitsev, who were killed in the fighting in the East, were held.

The centre for prosthetics, orthotics and rehabilitation called “No Limitations”  where prosthetic legs are manufactured and rehabilitation is provided is working in Chernihiv. According to prosthetics technician Yevhen Rebryna, this is the only centre in the city with a prosthetics workshop. The centre provides free prosthetics under the state programme. Both military and civilians come to the centre.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that 4 shaheds were shot down at night, 2 in Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol regions. The occupiers were attacking Nikopol region all day long. They used artillery and kamikaze drones. The enemy targeted Nikopol itself and Myrove community. Two multi-storey buildings, 14 private houses, 7 outbuildings, enterprises, infrastructure facilities, several cars, an excavator, 3 greenhouses, power lines, gas pipelines and a dozen solar panels were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council reported that SUP boarding was organised for veterans and their families in Vinnytsia. The event was organised by the Youth Policy Department of Vinnytsia City Council together with the Department of Social Policy. 

Vinnytsia City Council reported that Vinnytsia oblast purchased a fuel tanker, night Mavic, walkie-talkies, a minibus, and other necessary items for the National Guard. 

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that windows were damaged in several buildings as a result of an enemy drone attack in Oleksandriia region, . 

Volodymyr Karpuk, the director, reported that the centre for IDPs has been set up in Bobrynets, Kropyvnytskyi region, Kirovohrad oblast. Ten people from Kherson oblast are currently living there. Rooms for the IDPs were arranged in the dormitory of Bobrynets Lyceum №1. Accommodation in the centre is free of charge.

Poltava oblast

A soldier with a multi-fragment fracture of both forearm bones and a radius defect of up to 10 cm was operated on at Poltava Regional Hospital. The patient underwent restorative and reconstructive surgery using the method of individualised 3D modelling.

Cherkasy oblast

In Lebedyn, Cherkasy oblast, a memorial plaque to Oleksandr Onyshchenko, a war hero, was unveiled. It was placed on the facade of Lebedyn Lyceum №1.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the occupiers launched 379 attacks on Zaporizhzhia oblast. Eight settlements were under enemy attack. The enemy conducted an airstrike on Vozdvyzhivka. 140 UAVs of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Novoandrivka. Fourteen MLRS attacks targeted Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka and Huliaipole. Additionally, there were 224 artillery strikes on the territories of Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandrivka, Robotyne, Levadne and Malynivka. There were six reports of damaged homes.

Yesterday, the occupiers carried out four assaults towards Orikhiv. All of them were unsuccessful.

The environment of Zaporizhzhia oblast has suffered damage amounting to over UAH 181m since the beginning of the large-scale invasion. According to the Southern District State Environmental Inspectorate, the damage increased by nearly UAH 20m in the past month alone.

Mykolaiv oblast

Today russian forces once again struck Kutsurub community. Gardens and dry vegetation on private properties caught fire. Additionally, according to preliminary information, residential buildings and a paramedic and midwifery station were damaged due to the shelling.

During the night of 19 June, air defence forces destroyed an enemy UAV of the Shahed-131/136 type. Debris from the downed UAV fell on the territory of Pervomaisk region. No casualties have been reported.

On 18 June, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community twice. Initially, the occupiers struck with an FPV kamikaze drone, followed by artillery shelling. There were no casualties.

Odesa oblast

There are currently two enemy fleet ships on combat duty in the Black Sea, one of which is a submarine missile carrier equipped with up to four Kalibre cruise missiles. There are eight enemy ships in the Sea of Azov, including two surface missile carriers that can be equipped with up to 16 Kalibr cruise missiles.

Environmentalists have calculated the environmental damage caused by the russian missile strike on Odesa oblast on 18 May, 2024. The strike damaged a warehouse facility. As a result of the attack, metal debris and construction waste contaminated a land area of over 1,000 sq m. The environmental damage has been estimated at over UAH 19m.

Kherson oblast

This morning, russian occupiers attacked the village of Olhivka in Beryslav region. The attack resulted in a fire in a residential building. A 67-year-old woman was injured, sustaining blast and craniocerebral trauma, a concussion, and burns to her head, limbs, and chest.

One of Kherson’s hospitals was hit again by enemy fire. The occupiers fired at least three Grad MLRS shells at it, damaging a garage and two cars. Windows were shattered in one of the hospital buildings.

Yesterday, the enemy shelled and conducted airstrikes on Burhunka, Mykhailivka, Tiahynka, Dniprovskе, Yantarne, Stanislav, Kozatske, Virivka, Shyroka Balka, Havrylivka, Lvove, Olhivka, Oleksandrivka, Antonivka, Sadove, Inzhenerne, Prydniprovskе, Beryslav and the city of Kherson. The attack damaged an apartment building, seven private houses, the grounds of an educational institution, a factory, a farm, garages, and private cars. Two people were injured  due to russian aggression.

Today, a resident of Odradokamianka, who was caught in a russian attack yesterday, sought medical help. The 58-year-old man was diagnosed with blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to his limbs.

During a night drone attack, air defence forces shot down six Shahed-131/136 drones over Kherson oblast.

It is reported that the enemy attempted two assaults on the left bank of the Dnipro. After suffering losses, they retreated to their initial positions.

Southern defence forces continue to deliver fire strikes on enemy positions, fire points, and rear areas. Yesterday, enemy losses amounted to 103 personnel and 33 pieces of military equipment.

Three more children’s play areas have been opened in Kherson oblast. These spaces are designed to accommodate parents with children during explosions and air raids. They feature special furniture, a library, and a sports and play area to keep children entertained. There are now 18 such spaces in Kherson oblast.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

At a meeting of the executive committee of Lutsk City Council, a decision was made to allocate apartments to Liudmyla Kravchuk and Alla Senchenko, servicewomen who returned from russian captivity. These are apartments in a new building with an area of ​​41.3 sq m and 40.8 sq m.

Lutsk community sent 3 DJI Mavic 3 quadcopters and 2 DJI Mavic 3T Enterprise (Thermal) quadcopters to the A 7030 Military Unit thanks to the budget funds.

Zakarpattia oblast

The Two Centuries – One War photo exhibition will be open this weekend in the oblast. It will present archival photos from the time of the liberation struggle of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and documentary photos of the modern russian-Ukrainian war, including the work of Maksym Levin, military correspondent.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

In Ivano-Frankivsk, an annotation board was opened to Andrii Pavliuk, defender of Ukraine, Commander of the Machine Gun Section of the Fire Support Platoon of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade of the 109th Battalion. The hero was killed on 8 August, 2022, during mortar shelling near the village of Zaitseve, Donetsk oblast.

Lviv oblast

According to information from the Air Commanded Zahid, as of 5:55 am, during the st night alert, which lasted from 2:32 to 3:35am on 19 June, 4 enemy drones entered the airspace of Lviv oblast. During the 2nd alert, which lasted from 4:27 to 05:24am, another Shahed attempted to attack the area. All of them were shot down by air defence soldiers.

During the night attack by russians, 2 civilians were injured in Lviv oblast. In the village Malekhov was injured by a 70-year-old man. He was hospitalised with multiple shrapnel wounds and several gunshot fractures. A 47-year-old resident of the village was also injured, he received cuts and was not hospitalised.

A multi-storey residential building was damaged. 20 windows were broken. The office premises were damaged. In the private sector, windows were broken in 5 buildings.

Debris from enemy drones in Lviv damaged the administrative building of the State Research Control Institute of Veterinary Medicines and Feed Additives. Debris of the UAV destroyed the roof, walls and ceiling of the 2nd floor on an area of ​​approximately 800 square metres.

Rivne oblast

During the martial law, 80 farms were created in Rivne oblast. Over 10 farmers with weapons in their hands are defending our land. There are also owners who fight and continue to manage their business from a distance.

Representatives of Rivne City Council visited the 60th Battalion of the 104th Brigade, which is currently in Zaporizhzhia oblast. 2 SUVs and FPV drones were handed over to the military.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil community received an ambulance for wounded defenders from Czech partners. This special vehicle will be used both for the transportation of the wounded and for the transportation of sick residents of Ternopil.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

At night, during the air alarm signal, the air defence forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed one enemy UAV of the Shahed type. The place where debris fell is being established. So far, there have been no reports of injuries, deaths or damage to property.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that Kamian community allocated UAH 100,000 to meet the current needs of the A3113 Military Unit of the National Guard of Ukraine.

The team of the WHO Bureau in Ukraine visited Chernivtsi to assess progress and present the 1st results of a pilot project aimed at improving the quality of primary health care (PHC) services at the local level. The city of Chernivtsi was chosen by WHO as a pilot community.

Denmark announced the 19th package of military aid to Ukraine. The package combines funding for the Ukrainian defence industry, additional equipment to support Denmark-provided F-16 fighter jets, and donations from the Ministry of Defense’s own reserves.

In 2 years, France wants to train 26 pilots of the Armed Forces. Training of pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to fly F-16 fighters continues at an air base in southwestern France, the name of which has not been disclosed for security reasons.

The Committee on Security Policy of the National Council of Switzerland, the lower house of the parliament, approved a proposal that would allow the indirect export of weapons to Ukraine. The corresponding draft law will now be submitted to the Swiss National Council, then it must be approved by the upper house – the Council of Cantons. If approved, countries such as Germany, Denmark and Spain will be allowed to transfer Swiss weapons to Ukraine in the future. Due to its neutrality and the relevant legislation, Switzerland cannot directly supply weapons to Ukraine, and initiatives that could change this were constantly blocked.

Szymon Holovnia, Speaker of the Polish Sejm, arrived in Kyiv. He began his visit by honouring and laying flowers at the Memorial Wall near Mykhailivska Square.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Victoria Humility-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania. They discussed the urgent needs to strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities, results of the 1st Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, further steps towards establishing a just peace in Ukraine and cooperation in the context of the country’s integration into the European Union and NATO.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, had a phone conversation with Sidney Mufamadi, Adviser to the President of South Africa on national security issues. They discussed the results of the inaugural Peace Summit.
